The sales rep from Pella spent a great deal of time listening carefully to my description of what I was trying to achieve by replacing all the windows on the front of my home, along with the front door. I had a particular vision firmly in mind, but doubted that Pella could find the products to create it. However, the sales rep combed their various product lines until the perfect combination emerged. Their order-verifying expert then played an important part by pointing out that some of the products would not end up looking like we imagined, giving me the opportunity to make corrections. When installation time arrived, the Pella team expertly removed a large assembly of lumber and glass that had served as the front of my living room since the 1950s. They painstakingly installed custom-assembled window units that came together to create exactly the look I had envisioned. They also were conscientious enough to point out to me that the front door I ordered had somehow been damaged in shipment, and recommended against installing it. When the replacement door arrived, they employed the same exacting process to properly install it in the front wall, despite it being out-of-plumb and dressed with stone. Pella products and services are expensive - it's true. But in my case it was the only way to be sure I was getting precisely what I wanted, even though that was unusual. Every part of the Pella effort - sales, verification, installation, and office support staff - all were critically important contributors to what I feel was my 100% successful home upgrade project.

I have used Pella before for a Patio door replacement and was very happy with the product and installation. This time I was looking for quotes for another set of patio doors and got a quote from David Turner from Pella. David was very informative and provided some insights that I was not considering to help select the best set of doors. I am thrilled beyond words with the box bay window that Pella has just installed in my home. What an amazing job by the entire team who worked with me ‒ from concept to completion ‒ to turn the idea of expanding my front picture window into what is now the sun-filled centerpiece of my kitchen. I’m so impressed with Pella’s creative approach, professional expertise, and commitment to do the best job possible at every stage of the project. The scope of this project went far beyond simply replacing a regular window with a bay window. It involved expanding both the width and depth of the window space outside the structural wall of my house, while keeping intact the dimensions of the existing window frame as an entry way. Almost like a small room built outside the exterior walls of the house. Needless to say, a unique idea that required an entirely customized approach. When I began searching for a contractor to take on this project, I must have contacted half a dozen window installers including Renewal by Anderson, Beltway Builders, Window Nation, etc. A few came for an onsite evaluation, others I talked with on the phone. Most would only consider a simple window replacement, the rest didn’t think the scope of the project was even possible or they were cost prohibitive. Only Troy Owens, Sales Specialist for Pella Mid-Atlantic, listened to my idea to create an expansive external space, and joined me in suggesting ways it could be done. He gave me what I thought was a fair and reasonable cost estimate and brought in their technical engineer, Ray Teacu, to confirm that the larger structure could be supported outside the window frame suspended above ground. Ray skillfully drew up the plans, outlined specifications and ordered the construction materials. Six weeks later, when everything was ready, Pella sent one of their top construction and installation teams, Robert Slominski and his Blue Sky crew, to do the job. And what an outstanding job they did! I was blown away by Robert’s skill and resourcefulness in overcoming every challenge. He reassessed the substantial weight load and, in an abundance of caution, called for his team supervisor, Aaron Smith, to pick up and deliver onsite an even heavier gage cable to guarantee absolute structural integrity. At every turn, Robert considered the best plan of action, explained his thinking to me, and proceeded with his construction crew of three to carry out multiple tasks as carpentry, wood cutting, frame building, masonry drilling, molding design, copper sheet roof cuttin and installation, and painting. The Blue Sky crew worked for two full days, 7am to 5pm, non-stop but for lunch and a few snacks I provided to keep them fueled. Aaron, Troy and Ray also dropped by at various times to check on the project. I’m so pleased with my beautiful and spacious addition. And I have such respect for the expertise of everyone I worked with at Pella ‒ from sales, to project management, to construction and installation. I highly recommend Pella Mid Atlantic to potential clients who are considering a similar project. I hope these images from start to finish show the remarkable results of a project exceedingly well done.

Stacey helped us choose the perfect front entry door. We ended up choosing a single fiberglass door with 2 sidelights with clad frame. It has made a world of difference in the overall appearance of our house, both inside and out. The door is very secure and we love it.

After much thought and research, my husband and I decided our house needed new windows. In the 6 years we've owned our home, at least a dozen window salesmen have solicited our business. None of them gained it however as we felt they were sales methods weren't top rate. It was refreshing to have the ball in our court from the beginning. My husband contacted Pella directly and set up an in home consultation. Bill arrived on time, happily engaged with us, did a through job measuring all the windows to be replaced and explained the difference between the types of windows Pella makes as well as how they compare to other brands. My husband and I felt like our time was respected and that our money is being used on a quality product that will add life and energy efficiency to our home. Our installation date is not till the fall so I cannot speak to the quality of installation but given our experience with Bill and the 10 warranty on labor Pella offers, I suspect we will be in good hands and not disappointed.

We've had our windows for about 3 months now and LOVE them. We ordered Lifestyle contemporary windows and a sliding door for our new construction remodeling project. The selection and ordering process was particularly strong, as the reps we worked with were incredibly responsive, answered all our questions, and priced out options quickly...all without sales pressure or shadiness. The windows arrived before their original deadline. Then after the windows were installed (by our contractor), we had a question about replacing the plastic locking mechanisms used for shipping the windows. Pella sent Don to our house to show us how it works. He was so professional and friendly, and also provided useful tips for adjusting and maintaining our windows to help them to last for years. When you need a Pella Service Technician, the man you want is Don Spittle. He has the skills and experience to get the job done. Big Cudos to Don. I originally purchased a Pella Patio Door and have been very happy with it; however, the exterior aluminum cladding began to come away from the wood casing due to water getting in and warping the wood. Pella no longer provides replacement casing and that left me with a big problem. I certainly did not wish to replace the door, so I contacted Pella for service. I won't lie, there was some difficulty in arranging service; however, after some "negotiation", service was arranged. Only the expertise of a Senior Service person could address the issue and that's exactly what took place. The cladding was placed back to its proper location and supported with caulking. Hopefully, this will extend the life of the product.

The tram of Richard, Armando and Vance were excellent. They were very professional and explained everything in detail before doing it. They answered all my questions and performed the door installation without issues. I wish this team had been the original team that installed the door. I look forward to possibly having them back when we are ready to change out the Patio Doors.

Philip Windtland, Pella Serice Tech., was absolutely terrific in rehanging my 10 y.o. huge triple glass, but very heave Pella window. Over the years it had slowly sagged on the hinges and became impossible to unlock and open for cleaning. After using many tools including two huge suction cups, he manage to open it and discover it was binding on the hinge side which he repaired with a small shim at the bottom.

The crew at Pella did a great job with installing the two doors that I purchased: front and garage door. The installers were very respectful, they placed dry clothes to avoid dirtying or damaging the floors and were very detailed in everything they did. For this type of service sometimes you have to pay a bit extra, but it was worth it. And although the doors came in later than expected, the service was excellent and professionally done and installed compared to other contractors.

Never in my life have I experienced having work done in my home where the workmen left my place possibly cleaner than when they arrived - Pella did! Oh, and the windows are outstanding! UPDATE (1/20/21). Our garage windows are 39 years old this spring, so I wanted to change their look when I redid the rest of my garage. I wanted to add mullions to Anderson windows, could Pella do that. Yes they did and altered them for an excellent fit. Once again, Don did a superb job, and I love the finished look. Many thanks! My original kitchen window screens were purchased and installed along with my original Pella windows in 1996. They’re polished brass to match the window cranks and locks, as well as the sink faucets in front of it. I recently had repair work done to the window trim and the windows replaced after 24 years of use (when the weather allows, those windows are open). Don (last name forgotten, sad to say, did a great job of resizing the original screens to fit the new windows. It seems that those gold-looking screens are no longer availabl , sad to say.

Great experience with Pella. I had Pella windows in my some parts of my house and I wanted to replace the older windows. I went with the aluminum clad wood replacements. The sales and quotation process was easy and clear. The rep helped us understand exactly what we would be getting. Once we decided to go with the installation, the process was clear and took place on time without any problems. The delivery and installation of the windows was excellent. The installers took care to work safely and keep the dirt and debris to a minimum. I removed the window treatments from the old windows and took pictures and photos off the wall to avoid any issues. Installation of 19 windows was completed in two days. Inside and out the job was done with excellent workmanship and quality. I highly recommend this team.

Pella did a great job installing our new front door, which included the side lights and transom. When they showed up with it, the transom did not have the dividers as requested, but they assured me it was something they could add after installation. The dividers that were sent initially looked too narrow, so they ordered a different set. They just completed the work, and it looks great. Everyone I dealt with was professional and they always came exactly at the scheduled time. Would definitely work with them again!

Yesterday, we had Rick Lopes, an Order Verification Specialist, out to do some final measurement on our third major project to be done with Pella. Rick did a thorough job and his expertise, professionalism and friendliness shined through during the entire process. We feel confident that our project will be completed perfectly. While Rick was here, I mentioned we were having problems with the French doors to our deck. The doors were our first Pella project of which we have been very happy. We are scheduled with a Pella repair specialist for the doors this next week. Rick thought it would be an easy fix and offered to look at them while he was here. Unfortunately, the job was a little more involved but Rick perservered until the doors were fixed. He even contacted the repair specialist who will come tomorrow and explained what work he had done and what part was still needed when the repair specialist comes to our house. I am totally grateful and impressed by Rick’s dedication to the job and excellent customer service. Please recognize this fantastic Pella employee for all his commitment and hard work in doing his job. Covid was not kind for this project. Replacing all the windows in my home was very painful. Financing took several weeks to be approved. Getting the details of the estimates took a lot of time. Delivery of final installation took 2 extra visits: weather, incorrect materials on truck, full order not being placed correctly. I'm glad I'm a detailed oriented person, or this could have gone sideways. Final install was originally scheduled for August 2020. Actually happened December 28th. The final product(s) are beautiful. I would recommend Pella, but be prepared to spend lots of time to make sure the details are correct.

We chose the Pella Encompass line of windows which not only met our budget goals but also look like very high quality, much more expensive windows. They are not at all typical vinyl replacement windows you can just buy anywhere. High quality and great value we are very happy with. The installation appearance fit / finish is fantastic despite some difficult site condition challenges. Most impressive, the sales specialist and especially our local general manager went far out of their way to ensure that everything was done to meet our expectations within the rhelm of possibility of what could be done on our site. For example, the installers had to labor for hours to ensure all traces of old caulk and any other flaws from the old windows were removed to leave a fresh, new and very professionaly done look. The trim design implemented by the installers ended up looking like a fine architectural work of art — tasteful, crisp, and just right for the appearance of our house. Honorable men are in short supply these days but the Pella folks really were honorable in every aspect of our dealings with them. They stepped up to the plate even when the going got tough. If you need windows or doors, I would not hesitate to recommend.

Dexter Williams replaced the weather strip on my front door. He replaced the weather strip and ensured the door was working as it should (the latch was sticking a little). He was very curtious and and made sure to cover my hard wood floors to prevent any damage to them. I did not make it easy for the sales person because I was worried about spending what it takes to replace windows. Everything that sales person Steve Lombardi said was true. He is an honest man. He found an insulation leak in our house during the sales process and suggested closing it up. I did so along with two other leaks and we saved about $100/month on our heating bill as we enjoyed our new windows. Our old windows were Anderson in a Ryland home. In the front of the house they were not in bad shape. However, the new windows make way more of a difference on the appearance of the home than I expected. We had 19 windows done, two complete tear-outs and 17 pocket replacements. They all look stunning. The installation team was on time, diligent, detail-oriented, and polite, AND they really cleaned up after themselves. Couldn't be happier; except that Pella inexplicably does not offer half-screens for this product line, only full ones, which we think is a real downside of what otherwise was an incredibly positive experience. For as much as you pay (and it's worth it!), the customer should get the choice between full or half-screens.

In response, their technician, Mr. Ngoc came by today to take a look. He was very professional, neat, and courteous, had an N95 mask on. He found easy repairs for all of them (six of them needed a plug-in to compensate for seasonal expansions/contractions and one needed replacement of a broken spring) and completed the repairs in less than an hour. Richard and Mark arrived promptly as scheduled and introduced themselves. They reviewed the work to be done, and noted that the replacement sliding door glass panel trim was a different color than the original. By telling me beforehand, we talked about the options for handling the situation. The new glass panel was brought in, and it turned out the color would be fine (thankfully). They went over how the new blinds-in-the-door operated differently, and what I should be careful to do or not do. They noticed some mold on the outside of the exterior glass panels, which they removed and resealed with silicon (a nice touch above and beyond the work order). I would highly recommend Richard and Mark for future maintenance!

Poor quality on the inside trim work. Significant damage done to existing trim pieces to the point where I'll have to engage another professional to repair the damage done. Estimate is four to six hours of work. I certainly cannot recommend Pella's install work. The door, sidelights and transom appear to be of good quality but the additional $500 to undo the poor interior trim work is not acceptable. Further I have not heard back from Pella with whom I discussed these problems with right after it happened. If I am to rate the overall work it would be no more than 3 or 5 stars.

I cannot say enough good things about the Service Technician Philip and his Manager Kevin. We had our windows installed over 14 years ago and they finally needed servicing due to some abusive behavior from a previous tenant. I called Pella Mid-Atlantic and they mentioned that they were booked up for the next 6 weeks. I spoke to someone named Nancy (she was AWESOME!) about how we might have a new tenant moving in with a child and I was concerned that the child could get hurt if one of the windows was not fixed properly. She then connected me with Kevin (Technician Manager) who then took control based on the urgency of our situation, moved a few things around and was able to assign Philip to address our problem windows. We set an appointment and had to cancel it at the last minute. Philip contacted me and explained that he understood our situation and that he would come out ON A SATURDAY early in the morning to address our window issues. I was in shock! Who does that? The entire time from the first appointment to the last, Philip was calm, cool, and collected. He (as did Kevin) exhibited a level of professionalism and customer service simply no longer available today. Philip not only corrected the problems, he took ownership, showed that Pella Mi-Atlantic valued our business, and was totally committed to our satisfaction. 14 years later and we are STILL treated well and valued as customers. I cannot say enough good things about this company and especially Philip. Without hesitation, I would recommend him and Pella Mid-Atlantic to anyone who wants to be treated fairly, feel valued, and who appreciate Pella's commitment to customer service. 11/22/19 In praise of Philip Wendtland, service technician out of Beltsville, Md.!! In one hour, Mr. Wendtland was able to eliminate my glass-fog problem involving the interior spaces in my Pella sliders purchased in 2004. I needed help to remove the interior glass panels, which are heavy and were tightly in their grooves. Mr. Wendtland was able to remove and reinstall the glass with his tools and volunteered on his own to clean six large glass surfaces with Pella's non-ammonia cleaner because he was concerned I would not be able to safely clean and reinstall the panels on my own. My smudgy, foggy 15-year-old patio doors with Low-E glass look like new and I learned from Mr. Wendtland's professional recommendations how best to continue caring for Pella's products. He even charmed my dog! What more could a customer want on a Friday morning? Thank you, Pella!

My wife and I had two large window assemblies replaced in our 1950s home through Pella Windows and Doors, Beltsville, but our request had complications. Our house walls were built using a construction technique that is uncommon by today's standards. Adding to this, my wife and I wanted the old window assemblies completely removed down to the basic brick and block wall. Aaron Smith did a great job sizing the windows and coming up with a plan for installation of the new windows. We've gone through two winters and summers at this point and despite all the house thermal extremes, the windows and installation are holding up very well. They look like new. Richard was terrific. He came immediately and fixed my broken back door, which was stuck in a locked position. It required, to my benefit, that he had the right part in his truck or it would have been several weeks. So that was great.He also fixed an aspect of the door that caused it to have trouble locking and unlocking. I will say that I was a bit gobsmacked by the cost. Between an arrival fee and his hourly rate for about an hour was, I believe, about $300 This is fairly steep tho maybe not outrageous if you include travel time. But then, the part itself, was about $500. I'm not going to guess what it costs Pella to manufacture that part but feel pretty confident that it is not more than a small fraction of that. It makes me think that it is part of Pella's business model to profit on repairs, which, if so, I think is unfortunate. It makes me inclined to do some research next time I might replace windows or doors to learn what the availability and cost of replacement parts would be.

First was replacing all windows (as if new) when we were residing (they've performed perfectly for nearly 15 years now, then replacing patio slider (a couple years ago), and now resetting our tri-lock front door that had been incorrectly installed by someone else. The re-install crew tackled every bit of the work without hesitation, even when not knowing what to find/expect, they figured out how to solve each challenge, never complained, and got the job done correctly with care and quality giving us long-term enjoyment of our "new" front door. I will always make this company my first choice, while we do have to pay more, in the end it is fully worth it to get things done correctly the first time, lesson learned. Thank you!

After thirty years our eight floor to ceiling casement windows (same basic design, but from three different years) needed some TLC. Ngoc had been to our home about ten years ago to do some adjustments and it was clear that he's a superior technician. This time we asked him back to evaluate and adjust all of the windows. Ngoc has been at Pella for thirty-two years he knew about each of our windows and how to fix them and care for them. The windows have held up beautifully so we're good for now, but we won't hesitate to install new Pella windows when the time comes.

By coincidence, a few days before we had had a huge rainstorm that came from the East which is unusual and one of the second story windows had leaked through to dining room below. Mr. Williams explained that the caulk can dry out and that we should re-caulk them all as they are now 10 years old which was also very helpful as we are both originally city people and do not know such things. And then he was on his way. Honestly, it is sometimes difficult to get people who are so competent, well spoken and cheerful down here where we live, especially for a relatively small job, but he was was all three.
