My dog, Coco, is very comfortable with the staff at Lums Pond Animal Hospital. The staff is very friendly and caring. They are always ready to help in any situation. The doctors there are very thorough and make sure you are comfortable with treatment and medications prescribed. I particularly appreciate that they will call a day or so after the visit to check on Coco’s progress. They have a real concern for the animals. I look forward to a long and continuous relationship with Lums Pond Animal Hospital.

I have been taking my pets to lums pond for the past 15 years. Friendly staff. The Doctors are awesome. I recently had my boston terrier euthanized there. My Doberman Pinscher named Koda has received outstanding care from Dr. Danielle Downs and the entire staff at Lums Pond Animal Hospital. They have consistently gone above and beyond to address my pet’s health needs. In fact, my Doberman was diagnosed with a terminal heart condition at the age of 6 years that is common for the breed. Under the care of Dr. Downs, he lived to be 11 years and 8 months old before passing away from the disease. He lived a full life without restrictions until the very end. Both Blue Pearl Specialty & Emergency Pet Hospital and the University of Pennsylvania’s Ryan Veterinary Hospital told me it’s very unusual to see a Doberman do so well and reach his old age after having lived with the disease for so long. It's a testament to the thorough and dedicated care of Dr. Downs and the entire staff at Lums Pond Animal Hospital.

The staff and service receives a 10 out of 5 from me! My dog's own vet (not from Lums Pond) could not perform the surgery my dog needed and it was time sensitive. I called around and was given the run around, but the staff at Lums Pond listened and responded beautifully and in the most humane way. Dr. Thompson saw the situation and took immediate action. Additionally, the vet techs I encountered were soooo supportive and treated my dog, Khloe like their own. I couldn't have been happier and the more I tell people about Khloe's experience at Lums Pond, the more fans I find out they have!!

Unfortunately after 5+ years of bringing our pets here, the availability has declined to the point of finding a new vet. The vet staff has been great (although some of the stellar Drs have departed), but when I needed an appointment for our pups active ear infection, I was told to find somewhere else because everything was booked for over a month. Earlier in the year I waited almost an hour to get a simple booster (done in less than 5 minutes). Thanks for all the years of taking care of our furry family members and best of luck on growing/improving operations in the future!

My parents' dog had to get an enucleation of both eyes. He is 13 years old. The surgery went well and he is doing great! He is eating better and more active than what he was before surgery. The surgery cost was fair ( $3,000 less than what a prominent emergency vet hospital wanted to charge!). He loves his belly rubs, the ecollar- not so much 😆

I've been bringing my dogs here for many years I've always been happy with the facility. Recently my dogs have been treated by Dr. Thompson and I like him very much. The care he has provided has prompted me to write this review. He explains things in an easy to understand manner and you can tell he loves animals. I brought in one senior dog for a wellness visit and he went out of his way to check the records of my other dog so we could get care plans for both. Thank you Dr.

Best place for your fury-child! My Nero is in good hands with a staff that actully cares a great deal. They will support you with you concerns and worries as well as laugh with you when your fury child is acting funny. My other fury-baby passed away due to old age and sickness and all of the staff supported us every step of the way. When it was time to say good bye the doctor and her assistants were kind, respectful and great. All of the staff make a point to go above and beyond with little personal touches that matter such as sending you a nice card or welcoming you new puppy. They'll take time to discuss the best vaccins/treatments that are needed for your fury one. Your pets are like children and they matter to Lumd Ponds Animal Hospital.

They were truly the best! I took my cat for her her first preventative appointment along with nail trimming. They followed up with me until the day of her appointment. The appointment was not only fast, it exceeded my expectations. My cat was trimmed & groomed. She came out new & improved! I didn’t think much of the service when I first contacted them to set up the appointment. However, when my cats appointment date came I could tell the staff cared about my cat. They were warm, happy, friendly & knew exactly how to handle her as they did with their other clients. Best service ever! I am now a committed client. I 100 percent recommend! Thank you all.

The veterinarians, technicians, front desk and pharmacy support staff have always been kind, efficient, thorough, and helpful. They've squeezed me in for last minute urgent bloodwork on a fully booked day at the height of pandemic, helped me countless times dealing with hiccups with Walmart Pharmacy prescription orders, and accomodated my detail oriented and questioning self. I'm grateful to have found them.

Not only did they fit me in on very short notice, they were very informative and thorough with my puppy. Unfortunately she couldn't be helped and they were very warm and sympathetic. My puppy didn't come home with me but now I know that I have a good vet for my other pets ...I recommend them highly... It's not easy being new to the area and having to find services.

We love Lums Pond Animal Hospital. They are a little more expensive but they explain everything and always give options for what services we want and need. We don't even request a specific vet because every vet we've seen is spectacular. They always make me feel like we're their only patients and really take their time explaining everything and doing thorough exams. My older dog has had two surgical procedures here and they're so good at keeping me updated. I trust them implicitly. It's a bit of a drive for us but we wouldn't go anywhere else.

This animal hospital is an A plus facility. We live in Media, PA but drive the 48 minute drive to DE so our 4 legged friends have the best vets in the area. Just last week after picking up our pup from a boarding kennel he began a honking cough. We called LUMS POND and they were able to give us the first appointment the next day.

Excellent doctors! They are very thorough and caring. Explain things to us so we know the pros and cons of a treatment or vaccine. We have been going here for years and they have taken care of three of our Labrador Retrievers, two of which we have seen into old age and they helped to let them pass on without pain and suffering. Not sure how their prices compare to other hospitals as we have not wanted to take our pet to any other place.

Super friendly staff! The vets are the best around and literally saved out little miniature poodle. She had a tumor, developed diabetes and went blind in less than 6 months. The vets worked with my wife to get our pups diabetes under control enough for her to have the tumor removed. Once she had her surgery, she has done so much better! We can't thank them enough and wish I could give them 10 stars.

I have taken my dog here for 2 years for his annual visit. Everyone has been so sweet and friendly. My dog is super dog aggressive, and they even help me schedule my appointments so that I'm visiting at not too busy times. They also let me sit in the exam room to fill out paper work for that reason as well. I recommend them to everyone.

Good place. The front staff feels stiff at times, as if they want you in and out in minimal time. Kind of wish it was a little more relaxed, but they are friendly and informative when you warm them up. Doctors are all friendly and informative. I like this vet in comparison to others in the area because I never once felt somewhat verbally tricked into something that I may not have really needed. Others have left me frustrated with ear cleaning charges I didn't know I was paying for, or small procedures that could have waited until next visit. I'm staying with this vet.

Also, I wanted to say THANK YOU to nurse Stephanie and Betsy for administering his Cerenia shot very quickly. There was no waiting time. It took them less than 30 seconds and I was in and out of the hospital in less than 5 minutes. Tommy has anxiety problem and Lums Pond staff understood that and they took care of my Tommy like their own family. Thank you to Lums Pond team!!!!

We have been bringing our dogs here for over 10 years!!! They are the most compassionate people I have met. Over the past 10 years we have nothing but excellent care for our dogs, most people are fearful of our dogs due to the fact they are pitbulls. Not Lums Pond, they dont discriminate against the breed. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. Thompson!!! My poor dog Dez, which we unfortunately lost in June, had to have 3 major surgeries, the last surgery he had to get done was a front leg amputation due to cancer. It was because of Dr. Thompson that my baby lived for as long as he did!! He never gave up on Dez and for that I am forever grateful. There is also a vet tech named Stephanie, she has been there as long as we have been coming there. She is amazing!!!

I can't express just how grateful I am to have taken our dog to Lums Pond. They were all so kind and compassionate towards us and our 12 year old lab, Lucky. I took my cat here for the first time today, and i truly can not say anything but great things. Dr. Sharkey went above and beyond to help me in an emergency situation. I take my dogs here because I love Dr Sharkey. She provides holistic care and is thorough yet gentle. The techs are knowledgeable and playful with the furry patients. Now with that said this is a clinic for people with a padded wallet. Some of the receptionists aka gate keepers are not always the sweetest souls. If you are late be prepared for a condescending reprimand despite usually having to wait 20 to 30 minutes for your appointment. They for the most part are rigid and will not bend in anyway to assist you, such as trying to pick up meds early. I tolerate the receptionists because all the techs and my vet are really something special.

I cannot express enough how pleased I was with my visit! The facility is beautiful and clean and all the people in the front are sweet. I had been trying to find a vet who would attend to my hedgehog who ended up having mites, and with little luck in the area it was a relief to find this place after searching for so long. The doctor and assistant were so sweet and patient with my little prickly boy and very professional. She even called me a couple weeks later to see how he was doing, as well as called again to give me some helpful information on bathing my boy. This place is amazing and I'm so grateful to them for helping me and my hedgehog.

I have three pets I take to Lums Pond, two dogs and a cat. Everyone is very friendly and the vets are clearly knowledgeable and care about your pets. The costs are comparable to other vet offices I have been to in the past. Because it is an animal hospital they can handle pretty much any illment or injury your pet may encounter. The down side to that is they will recommend a lot of treatments such as oral cleanings and such.

I've never liked a veterinarian office more than this one, and my dog loves the staff so much that I practicallyhave to drag him out of the office to go home. They treat us like we are their family. Dr. Downs has been seeing my Boston Terrier since he was a puppy. She's always addressed my concerns throughly, and offer detailed explanation of her thoughts on particular aspects of pet health (an example is difference between flea and tick treatments) while offering options to suit my families needs. Some people have said to me that they think this office is too expensive. Personally (I'm far from well off financially), I don't think anyone should aim for the cheapest option for healthcare needs (whether for a human or a pet) because cheaper doesn't always mean better. I'll gladly pay more for quality care.

Great facility and welcoming staff. Even though my last vet failed to send my dogs vet records, Dr. Gaska listened and included me on the decisions about the treatment method for my dog. No upselling, no costly tests that I've had run a million times before, just concern for me, my dog and her health! Having seen many vets with the same dog, I can truly say that Dr.Gaska gave us one of the best experiences! Also, cost for the visit and medications (3) was very comparable to all other vets I've been to.

Update 4-12: they're still amazing and I still won't go anywhere else. I've gone to them for many years and they have always been kind and respectful. When it came time to let my baby go a week ago they were patient and compassionate. The took their time explaining and more importantly they were respectful of my baby girl. I miss her but I knew it was time and she let me it was time. She will always be in my heart. Thank you
