My old vet retired and I switched to north rock. First for a teeth cleaning the bill was less than I expected. They gave all the possible costs up front. I was extremely pleased with the service and how caring everyone was. Next the dachshunds went back for heart worm shots and that also went very well. This is my new veterinarian for the wiener boys.

They got my babies in quickly and the service is precise, and I love that the animal hospital called to check up a week later. They also sent us a thank you card showing they go the extra step. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, hands down my go to for my babies.

I've had Toby, my little rescue senior, in to see Dr Rypma at Northrock twice in the last month, first for what turned out to be an allergy issue. Everyone was so wonderful & understanding about my concerns, I knew I had found the vet for us!! Toby became ill over the weekend & by Sunday night I was pretty frantic. Tried to take him to VESH, but he wasn't urgent & we were never able to get in. Called Northrock first thing Monday & let them know Toby was throwing up, having bowel issues, not eating & very lethargic. They got him in that day. Dr Rypma was AWESOME, as are all the staff we've met there. They were reassuring, thorough and caring. Once she determined what was wrong, Dr Rypma prescribed treatment, explained everything clearly and was completely understanding of this new dog mom's fears! She's called the last few days to check on him and I very much appreciate her care and concern. Toby loves her and I think she kinda likes him too... lol I couldn't ask for a better Dr for my furbaby!!!

I highly recommend northrock. I took my beagle here for 9 years. He passed in September and they took 100% care of him. From puppy to the very end. My dog started having seizures over the weekend, so Monday morning I immediately contacted Northrock Hospital For Animals. I was relieved they knew my situation due to an email I sent them prior to opening hours. They got us right in with Dr. Terry. Dr. Terry was wonderful, she explained everything they'd be doing in great detail and she handled my dog as if she was her own, with love and compassion. Dr. Terry also called me several days after our appointment to check on Fallon and she took the time to answer my additional questions and concerns. I couldn't be more pleased and my mind is at ease knowing that Dr. Terry is caring for Fallon now. Also, the techs were great and front office as well-very personable and friendly, that's important too!

Dr Stricker is so amazing. From the moment I walked in the clinic to the moment we walked out I was informed of what was going on with my cat. There were no guessing games, no surprises, and any questions I had were immediately answered. It is clear that Dr Stricker has a passion for what she does and Apollo is so incredibly lucky we chose this animal hospital over any other and we will continue to use northrock for all of our animals whether routine checkups or emergency visits (though we hope there are no more emergencies). The lady I dealt with primarily at front of house, I believe her name is Carrie was also fantastic and made sure there were no surprises when it came to checkout. I was given a statement of credit when I prepaid and I was given an itemized receipt when checked out. We cannot express how much it means to know Sprocket was so well taken care of by your staff the last weekend he was alive. We knew his health was declining but we did not expect goodbye would come so soon. During the kennel tour and drop off Savannah was reassuring about his care and very understanding about how much patience it would take to get him up and around, feeding him at slow intervals as well as keeping him cleaned up. When we came to pick him up after his stay we knew he was well taken care of because he was so well adjusted, clean, happy and didn’t even seem to mind if he stayed longer. It was only a few days later we had to make the decision to let him go. Upon returning to North Rock to say our final goodbye he was eager to enter the building and be greeted by staff in a familiar place, a happy place he felt safe. Dr. Linot made the transition so peaceful and gave us a chance to say goodbye, we are forever grateful for her experience and ability to provide the best end of life care. Sprocket was such a huge part of our lives from our daily morning walks, taking him with us in the truck to work at the job sites and modifying our schedules to be with him constantly as he declined. It has been so hard letting our best friend and constant companion go. Every interaction with each of you was so important in making the process bearable for us and allowing us to move forward in peace as we work through our grief. Thank You!

After many years of taking our family dogs to the same vet clinic I decided to find someone new...someone who showed a little more compassion for them as well as knowing I wanted to be with her, I could see she didn't understand what was happening. After a very short time of waiting (even though it was lunch time for them) the Dr. came to tell me exactly what was wrong & gave me some medication and said she wanted to see her in 10 days to make sure it was working. I have seen Drs. Unruh and Stark with my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy. They are warm, outgoing, and extremely sweet to my little girl. If I have an issue, we get same day care. The whole staff is always super excited to see my pup, and she is usually swept away from me and cuddled by at LEAST one person before or after her appointment.

Our cat (and we!) received excellent care at Northrock Hospital for Animals. Dr. Rypma’s understanding of cats, their habits, their personalities, is unmatched. It makes a huge difference in dealing with a stressed kitty on vet day. She helped us diagnose what was—and wasn’t—wrong with our boy. A dental procedure was needed, thus anesthesia and a day in their care. High marks to the whole staff here for their outstanding listening skills, compassionate and patient care of their fur-patients and fur-parents. Communication on the day of the procedure was outstanding and I appreciated the conversations with Dr. Rypma directly. Vet bills are never cheap but we feel we received the highest level of care here.

Personalized attention is given before, during and after the appointments, both to the pets and their owners. Prices are reasonable and fair. New in town, new to Northrock Hospital For Animals. Couldn't be more impressed! They take the time to talk with you and learn about your pets. They don't push unnecessary meds. Prescription diets are not pushed unless they're really needed. My foster dog was spayed and the care they took was incredible. There are no external stitches for her to bother. She came back perfectly clean and with only a tiny shaved spot on her front leg where the IV went in. I'm looking forward with confidence to a long & excellent relationship with Northrock. My dog got sick and our vet was not able to see her, so I called Northrock to see if someone there was willing to help her. I couldn't have been more impressed and happy I did! All of the employees treated us like regular clients and were so professional and super friendly and understanding of my worries with my dog. They took on the challenge to also try and get our medical records from an old vet that never would send them to our current new vet so that they had the most info on my dog to help treat her. Thank you Northrock and all the staff and the doctor who was so patient with me and explained all the procedures and the findings so well, I felt confident as to what our at home treatments entailed. I had a great experience here. I took my dog to VESH because he had fairly bad swelling on his muzzle. It turned out to be an abscess under one of his teeth. The emergency vet didn’t have any oral surgery openings for 3 weeks. The regular vet I was seeing at the time also had no openings for about 2 weeks. I was recommended to north rock by VESH because of the situation. I called first thing in the morning and they fit him in immediately! So happy with them they did me and my baby a huge favor with their urgency. I ended up taking my other dog in a week or two later to do a teeth cleaning as well. Great experiences both times. Plus I don’t think it’s was crazy expensive either. Not low end necessarily but for the care you receive its amazing.

I have been going here almost 3 years and they have treated my cat, myself, my friends, and my fiance with nothing but love and respect. After appointments, the vet will call after a few days or so to check in. They let me ask as many questions as I want and are nice and patient. I first decided to go to Northrock Hospital For Animals back in June of 2014. My decision was based off of other reviews. So far, I have yet to have a bad experience. Each time I have gone for my dog's check up and shots, they have been very very nice, respectful, helpful and kind. What impressed me is their love for animals. My wife and I recently adopted a dog this month and it surprised me how much they cared about the dog's well being. They insisted we bring in the dog periodically (free of charge) to let the dog get comfortable with trips to the vet. On those trips to the vet, they just want him to walk around and say hi to the staff and make them happy visits for the dog, since the dog was a shelter rescue dog and had trust issues. The prices aren't the cheapest but they are by no means unreasonable, especially for the experience you get. I would recommend anyone who truly cares about their furry friends, to go here. The veterinarian doctor is very nice and answers all my questions, as I had a lot to begin with. Thanks Northrock Hospital, for what you do. Keep it up!

I have never experienced a place better than Northrock Hospital for Animals. They treat me like the clinic is there just specifically for my pet only. Everyone in the clinic always greets my dog and treats her as if she belongs to them personally. My dog looks forward to going in once she realizes we are there and runs up to the staff to greet them, and loves her doctor. She has had two surgeries there, and dental cleanings, and other procedures. My dog is ten years old and healthier than I would ever have imagined and I completely credit Northrock for this. Dr. Rypma has given my dog the best care and given me the best advice for my dog, and I have never been taken advantage of. I love all the staff there, and even the staff that work in the back treat her with such special care. It is a blessing to find such a trustworthy place for my dog, who means everything to me.

We recently (by recently I mean a couple of days) moved here(OCT) with our fur baby. We had been waiting for our house to close so we had been staying with our son in OK. Our baby had been acting differently so initially took him to a vet there. They gave him antibiotics and when we moved here he was still acting slow, sleeping all the time, etc. We called Northrock and they got him in the next day. Our fur baby was blessed to see Dr Unruh. Dr Unruh was very thorough. She took many samples from bumps he had to taking X-rays of his chest and abdomen. Even though the news was not what we wanted to hear and we had to put our baby down, she found the cause so our baby is not in pain any longer. I would recommend this clinic to anyone that asked. I just wish we had Dr Unruh when we lived in AR. Maybe then we could have caught it in time. We got a mew puppy the beginning of March and knew exactly where we wanted to take him for his healthcare. As before, the staff and vet were outstanding. You will not go wrong if you take your fur baby to Northrock Hospital for Animal.

I was searching for a veterinary hospital closer to home here in Wichita due to the stress any travel exerts on my cat. I visited Northrock Hospital for Animals because of repeated good reports, and I was very, very pleased. From the moment we entered the hospital, everyone was extremely courteous, helpful, compassionate, and professional. The facility was immaculate, and Dr. Michelle Rypma, DVM, Vet Tech Colette, the folks on the front desk, and all the others were welcoming. My husband and I have used Northrock Hospital and its great staff since 1988. They are all courteous, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in and kind to our pets. We have had three dogs with them and have always felt like our pets, aka family members, were in good hands...especially when grave health issues arose. Because our pets are family, we take their health and well being very seriously. I would recommend Northrock to any person who needs a vet and a support system to your pet's good health and longevity.

I think Northrock is amazing! I have 3 large dogs and have taken them there! They aren't to pricy and do checkups very well. They are very knowledgable and friendly! One of my dogs does not like other people, however, they always make him feel comfortable and we don't really have any problems. They office is always very clean and so are their exam rooms. They take the time to get to know your pet and are always there to answer any questions and concerns you may have! Their boarding space is also very great. It is a nice quiet environment and they let your pet out 3 times a day for walks and play time. They always accommodate your pets needs while they are staying there. Nice air conditioned room so they aren't in the heat. I wouldn't take my babies anywhere else!!!!

I am grateful for the tenderness shown Skitty, my beautiful cat of 21 years, by two of the staff when putting her to sleep. North rock was not vet I spent weeks trying to improve Skits condition. It just got worse. They were the ones to mercifully aid in ending her suffering while Skits's vet was unavailable due to out on vacation. I could not stand to hear her pitiful yowling the night before and helpless to do anything to help her. They were tender and loving during the process. Still, I'm devastated by her loss. While I declined preserving her ashes, I would like the staff to know that I will be preserving Skitty's memories by blowing up a favorite photo and having it framed. I want to remember her in life and not her death. Thank you ladies. I was barely able to contain myself to thank you properly.

I usually get a lot of anxiety when it comes to bringing my cats in for any kind of check up or surgery but the staff here are always able to calm me. I love having Dr.Stricker as a vet, she is kind, gentle and very informative with both me and my baby. I was a bundle of anxiety the day I took my cat in for surgery, but Dr.Stricker very quickly calmed my nerves by keeping me updated and informed on my cat throughout the day. Our little dog had to get caught up on his vaccinations so he could get his next trim! I made a same day appointment with Northrock Hospital for Animals and got him in. The pro's there were so great with our pet. They treated him with love and affection just as if he had been a patient for years! Update 2020: Later visits were not as great. I often spent 20 minutes in the waiting room, with no communications as to how long it would be. Our first vet there retired. Subsequent staff were fine, but not exceptional. Have since moved to another vet. Original review: We spent no time in the waiting room/lobby. We were moved right into an exam room. (At our old vet in Bel Aire, we always spent 20-30 minutes in the waiting area, with no explanation about timing.) Dr. S. was patient and thorough; he carefully explained everything and made sure I didn't have any other questions. Highly recommended.

We have used Northrock Animal Hospital for over twenty-five years for our two Black Labrador dogs, Anny and Shadow. Both dogs were always eager to go in for their visits every time and never complained. The service was always the best and we had many little medical problems here and there that were handled with great care. My dog had an allergic reaction to a bug bite, which caused her eye to become severely inflamed, to the point where she was unable to see. I called on a Saturday morning, and even though they were booked solid and I had not been there before, they were able to get her in to be seen that morning! The care that my 13 year old German Shepard received was top-notch. They even called a few days later to follow-up and ensure that everything was going well. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and compassionate vet clinic in the Wichita-area!

She has had several severe health problems over the years and Northrock has always been absolutely amazing. Dr. Weidler is so kind and caring, as are all of the staff. Yes, this probably isn't the cheapest place to take your pet. But I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for. I really don't think Scrappy would still be with us today if it wasn't for Northrock.

I love this pet hospital! I took my dog there because he was not feeling well. It was determined that he had a muscle sprain. The issued him medications and my bill wasn't an arm and a leg! Most importantly, the Dr. called a few days later to check on my dog. So very thoughtful. I highly recommend!

I started going here when I first moved here in 2006 because they were close. I brought my 10 year old Chow with me from California, and she started having problems, as any elderly dog will. I went through a year with my Chow before she had to be put down. By then, I had adopted a cat, and have now added another cat and a Great Pyrenees. If I weren't extremely pleased with this clinic I wouldn't still be there. I am probably pickier about my pets' health care than I am my own. They do keep telling me my pets need to lose weight, though. I think they are in cahoots with my own doctor.

This was our first, but certainly not our last visit to Northrock Hospital For Animals. My four legged friend, Lucky, a Pekinese, were treated with respect, especially to her health needs. After making the appointment I contacted our former care provider of many years to have them fax Lucky's records to NHFA, so they were amply prepared to deal with her needs. The desk staff were cordial, efficient and professional in starting what we hope will be another long beneficial relationship, for Lucky's sake. The Doctor seemed quite knowledgeable as well as very caring. I would highly recommend their expertise to anyone who wishes good care for their animal friend.

My family has taken our dogs and cat to Northrock since they opened at the 29th St. location many years ago. They're always so kind and patient, with animals and humans both. Dr. Unruh sees our pets now. She's a delight. You can tell she truly loves taking care of animals. We used the clinic at PetSmart for a year, trying to save money with their pre-paid plan. It was awful. Our pets were no more than numbers there; i.e. 15 year old dog=prescribe expensive food and unnecessary treatments. I once heard my little dog scream in the treatment room when they finished a procedure after the anesthetic wore off. Never went back. The staff at Northrock goes out of their way to make sure my animals feel safe and loved. They even got my cat to come out of her carrier on her own!

Dr Weidler and Dr Unruh are the best. My beagle Belle got a cancer diagnosis, at age 16 I opted for her to just go to sleep and save her any pain. I brought a very sick kitten here and they took a look at him and came and told me they didn’t think he was gonna make it and had a plan on what they would do to try. I agreed and understood how grim his prognosis was, they called me throughout the day to let me know what was going on. They even offered to keep him overnight and I just pay for the boarding fee. He didn’t make it but they tried everything to save him but he was just too sick and young. They called to let me know he had passed and were so compassionate and caring in my time of need. They were there for me emotionally and I really appreciated that, Dr. Libby Stricker was amazing and professional. I would totally recommend and use their services again without a doubt.
