It's very difficult to find vets that practice current medicine for rodents, but also do not charge the same prices as you would for a Great Dane sized animal. I needed to find somewhere to establish my rats to continue their care. Reception was friendly. I was given an appointment within a reasonable range of time. Dr Hill was very thorough with each of my boys, they did not seem too stressed with her/her tech. Her rat medicine was current, not the standard protocols from the 1980s. Overall very happy & my boys are too!

They are an absolutely amazing exotic vet! They are gentle with my beardie and always seem to know how to calm an overreacting mama, lol. They are affordable too which is huge this day and age.

This place is absolutely amazing! As a first time Hedgehog owner I worry that I am not always doing the best despite all the research I have done to keep her happy and healthy. So of course when a small wound showed up on her stomach it was a scramble to find a vet that would even see Hedgehogs. After a few phone calls later I was referred to these guys and I am so happy that I was! The staff was so friendly and did their best to get me in as soon as possible. Even though I had to change the appointment time due to bad weather conditions they gave me the information to an emergency vet if needed. The next day they called and informed me they had some schedule changes and would be able to fit me in! During my appointment the doctor and the vet tech were so wonderful dealing with my very angry hedgie. Thankfully everything was good and she just needed some antibiotics. They needed to give her some anesthesia to properly assess everything but, while she was under they cliped her nails for me which can be such a struggle to do sometimes with her. They even reassured me that she was healthy and was well taken care which gave me the piece of mind that I am doing the right thing. To my surprise for all they did for her and for the medication it was so very cheap. You can really tell they have a passion for animals and truly care about your pet. This has been only the first visit with them but, I do highly recommend taking your pet here and I will continue to bring my hedgehog here knowing that she will be in the best of hands and get the greatest care! Thank you so much to all who work here you all are so great!

Performed knee surgery on my Labrador Lucy. Excellent experience, Lucy is healing great. They explained every option and procedure in a way that I was 💯% confident that she was in the best hands. This visit I was financially able to pay, but there was a time some years back that Lucy had been severely injured in a fight and I couldn't afford the treatment. Family Pet Hospital helped me and took the best care of her, and that was the reason I brought her back for this issue. They all truly live and care for all animals as if they were their own. I plan on taking my Pit/Shepherd Kali there for treatment. I 1000% Recomend FPH to everyone. Thank you to all the Dr's. and Staff.

While sometimes reception can be busy and a little overwhelmed, the Vets treat evey animal like family, even my little rats. Theyre cheap, friendly, and caring people who all seem to genuinely love their jobs. The first little chaos potato I brought in was for an ipper respiratory infection, but said chaos potato os extremely shy and bites strangers. They were so gentle with her that she only bit the assistant once, and the entire appointment only cost 56 dollars. The next two visits were both for mass removal surgeries. The first one for one rat was only ~260 and the secone for two rats was only 200 dollars in total (one of the rats was the same rat from the first one). Dr. Hill is just awesome. I would 100% recommend taking your small animals here.

As a bunny owner i was concerned about finding a place that would 1) accept my exotic animal and 2) find a place that i trust with my babies life and finally 3) find a place with decent pricing. This place hit all 3! I walked in to a man picking up his chicken and knew my fur baby was in the right hands!

I drive about an hour to take my chickens to Doctor Feagans when I can't solve the problem myself. They are very nice and friendly. The service is reasonably priced. They will spend time talking with you about your pet to solve the issue. I took one chicken in that was staggering around. I was worried it was a bad chicken disease. We discussed her symptoms and decided on an x-ray. We discovered she had eaten a small piece of chicken wire or hardware cloth. So basically she had zinc poisoning. It was small enough for her to expel it and was given medication to help her do it quickly.

My poor chocolate lab had developed a tumor and unfortunately I had to be an adult and do the right thing for her and lay her to rest so she wouldn't suffer any more. Family pet hospital was more than courteous who are super attentive and supportive. Would definitely refer them to anyone they're absolutely awesome! The paw print with an extra bonus !

The people here are so kind & you can tell they care so much for the animals that enter through their door. I went here due to many ‘exotic’ vets being booked & I was able to get in quickly with Dr. Fagans. She was so sweet & kind to my guinea pigs! She, and the vet assistants, treated every single concern I had or they saw very seriously. They were gentle with them & answered all my questions with interest & care. This was my first visit, and while I hope my guineas never have to return, I have a lot of comfort in returning knowing they’re getting the best care in St. Louis!

I had my first experience last week when I needed to take a baby chick in for an emergency check over. From the phone call to get an appointment, til the time I left, it was an amazing experience. Everyone was so nice, professional yet so sympathetic towards my horrible situation. I’ll definitely be going back for anything we may need for our fur and feathered babies!

We only had a short experience because our Guinea pig already had a progressive disease when we brought her and she passed during treatment. However the pet hospital was amazing and they were very accommodating and my family felt like our pet was important to them.

Family Pet Hospital is the best. They are very affordable, and you can tell they really care about your pet. They also work hard to squeeze you in for an urgent health issue, even when they are booked up. I especially like how understanding they are of my dog’s anxiety when he goes to the vet. He can be quite difficult, but Dr. Collins and the vet tech handled him so well by sitting on the floor with him, feeding him treats, and talking in calm voices to encourage him. They also cleared the waiting room on the way in because he doesn’t like other dogs. I also appreciated how hard they worked to find us the lowest priced treatment options. Their kindness and patience made our experience much better than it has been at any other vet.

I have working dogs, so it's hard to find a vet that is both willing to work with you and also knows how to handle the dogs correctly. I was recommended by a friend/former co-worker to check out Family Pet Hospital when I was looking to change clinics. Dr. Feagans and Lexi, the vet tech, saw my malinois when I first got her last Septemnber as a young pup, and I was super grateful for how they handle things. Today, they got to see the rest of my pack (7 year old pet White Swiss Shepherd, 6 year old working black lab, and 6 year old working Dutch Shepherd), and again, I was very grateful and appreciative of their professionalism and kindness. Not only that, but their office staff is also not only professional, but super help and nice as well. I will be staying with this clinic, and Dr. Feagans, for as long as she'll have me. Thank you all for all you do!!

I have a 15-year-old dog that has been diagnosed with bronchitis for 2 years by previous vets. I took Winston to family vet last week and was finally able to understand what was causing his bronchitis via two X-Rays. Dr Hallie Feagans is so nice & caring. I have been going here for close to 10 years. I trust her immensely. She truly cares. Her & Lexi were so very very kind to me @ a extremely difficult time with one of my dogs that ended up having to be put to sleep when the ER I went to told me my dog swallowed something & the Dr Feaghans found cancer when she did the surgery. They sent a very nice card & 2 paw prints I cherish. I will always remember how good and caring they were. I 100% recommend Family Pet Hospital. Dr Feagans always answers all my questions. This place is amazing for exotics care!! I took my mouse here for swollen lynph nodes and they were able to do a microscopic on her roght away and get her lined up with a steroid treatment for an amazing price. They also spay/neuter smalls animals like rats which is awesome. Super friendly and caring staff, and quick service. DEFINITELY reccomend this place for any type of pet.

I have never, ever, dealt with such a professional, courteous and wonderful place as family pet hospital! They understand how much we love our little Mongolian Gerbil, Lion, and helped us when he had a tumor. They operated on Lion, and he is doing just fine! They are great most of the time. They usually can even squeeze you in if you really need them to without a actual appointment. I only gave 4 stars because I have ran into a problem with a rude worker who thinks she runs the show and doesn't want to listen to what you have to say and doesn't let you speak when your trying to. But I take my ferrets here it's the only place I trust completely br Daniel's is awesome and has not ever let me down.

Dr. Hallie Feagans is the most knowledgeable and genuinely caring vet I've ever been to. She helps to comfort your pet, find solutions, and keeps you aware of all options. Nail trims are included if you've had an office visit/appointment with the year. She covers a broad range of pets as well, going beyond your average dog/cat.

Recently had to have emergency surgery on one of my animals. Even though they were booked up that day they asked if I could drop him off and the doctor would get to him between things...amazing service and I actually felt under charged...I would have gladly paid 3 times what the final bill was. They see all my animals, everytime it's the same great experience and my dog is a challenging patient at best...highly recommended!!

I have taken both chickens and guinea pigs here, and I have always been impressed with the quality of care. When one of my piggies was uncomfortable after her spay, they rushed her in, took radiographs, and sent me home with pain meds (all at no extra cost during a holiday week!). This place came highly recommended. After our vet closed shop, and the other vet we saw remained way too pricey, we chose to give this place a try. So impressed and pleased! Not only were they very, very affordable, but they were very, very good! Often people associate affordable with a decrease in quality but this was definitely not the case. I took my newly rescued 14 year old Chihuahua there at the end of January. Due to the cancer they found on a follow up visit, he had to be put to sleep. The entire staff, plus both vets I worked with were compassionate and understanding. If I can get another rescue dog, I will definitely go back there for care.

In the past, I had decided that I would not bring my chickens to a vet anymore because it always cost me a few hundred dollars each time I went and the chicken didn't get better. Then I found Family Pet Hospital. I love this place because they are thorough, knowledgeable and kind. When I bring one of my girls in, the price is always reasonable and they actually get help. One of my girls had been sick for most of her life. Dr. Faegans was able to correctly diagnose her, and give her medicine that it's actually helping! And, it didn't cost me an arm and a leg.

We adopted two kittens from Family Pet Hospital in late Spring. Since shots and neuters were included in the price we have returned for these services. We were very impressed when after some questions, we were directed to the perfect kittens for our household. The office staff was very respectful to our kittens and us. Since our adoption, we have returned for shots. Dr. Peckham is our vet and we couldn't be happier! She is very personable and is very thorough in her evaluations of the kittens. She has a cheerful, warm bedside manner. I would highly recommend people to visit in order to adopt kittens/cats as some kill shelters contact them before they euthanize. To my understanding, they make sure the cats are healthy for a few weeks before they are even available to adopt. Even if you aren't looking for a new furry friend but just an awesome, clean place to bring your animals this would also be the perfect recommendation!

We are happy we found a vet who is close by, cares about our pets and is easy to get appointments from. Dr. Fagen is always friendly and engaging. She spends times with us, answers any questions, doesn't act like she's in a rush and wanting to 'move along.' She and her staff lavish our pets with attention. I feel like I can go and get any question answered or problem addressed easily. Their fees are reasonable too. I love this place!

These guys are the best. They are always super friendly, they work with you on prices and don't overcharge for frivolous things like certain other vets in the area that will remain nameless, and they have a parrot named Squid! A PARROT NAMED SQUID! This is seriously the best vet office I've ever been to, and they treat exotic animals, too!

Dr. Feagans is awesome with ALL animals, especially those considered unique or exotic. She has saved several of my babies that other vets said cold not be saved. She took the time to do all the tests and research the problem instead of just assuming the most obvious cause (a blocked intestine in one case). She is great with my dog (who loves her so much I take her in even when she doesn't need anything), my cats who purr for her and likes no one else (they were strays), and my rats who love everyone.

Hi! I had my first experience at this hospital recently when one of my hens needed to be seen and I was amazed at the level of kindness & care shown. Dr Feagans was so patient & kind when she called me to confirm my hen was dying. When I came in a few days later to pick up my carrier, I was even given a hand-written sympathy card from Dr Feagans and staff! Very thoughtful & considerate. For my fellow StL neighbors whose pets include backyard hens, I would highly recommend Dr Feagans!

Oh my gosh....before I could get there this morning, they actually called ME today (day after Christmas no less) to check on my critical guinea pig and make sure I was coming in for his follow up.
