I have heard many great things about Hillside. When their books opened up for new clients in December I jumped on the chance to get in. I was not disappointed. Dr. Cansdale, and techs Karen, and Aubrey are knowledgeable and were so sweet with my three cats (Mini, Sib, and Ben). Their experience is obvious. Thank you for the best experience possible.

My 2 chihuahua mixes needed a dental check up and I had no idea what vet to choose. I wanted them to be safe and wanted quality dental work. I was referred to Hillside by my sister and I am SO glad I chose to come here (and that they were taking new patients when I called, I was aware they may not be taking new patients and was prepared for a wait). I got a regular check up for both dogs ar our intake, and am in the process of getting dental work on one of my babies. The intake was months ago and I have forgotten the veterinary doctor's name who saw my dogs but she was absolutely amazing. She put my dogs at ease and made the visit low stress for them. Everything we have had done here has been great! My dogs are treated with kindness and respect, the docs, nurses, dental tech, and staff are friendly, helpful, and accurate. I would highly recommend Hillside to anyone.

Hillside Vet is fantastic! The administrators at the the front desk are nice and on top of everything. The vet techs are professional and caring. The vets are superb and have a great sense of humor. I’ve been going to Hillside since 2006 and wouldn’t change unless I had to. Plus, they are one of the few vets that are still not owned by a larger corporation. I highly recommend. Hillside veterinary hospital is the best. Dr Guinn is awesome! As well as the rest of the staff. We’ve been taking or Rottweiler Bella there for the past 4 years. And aside from emergencies that occur when they are closed we won’t take her anywhere else. They’re always so kind and compassionate. You can tell they really love animals and want to help them. We love them and appreciate all of the help they’ve provided through the years. 200 percent recommend them.

My cat and I met Dr. Guinn today. She is wonderful. Very patient respectful of wary, unpredictable cats. She showed and then let him sniff all of the instruments before using them on him. Then she sat on the floor to let him get to know her! I have had cats for 26 years and I have never had a vet do this! She is amazing. She was also kind and patient in answering my questions. I am so grateful and happy to have her as our new vet ❤️😻

Dr. Gwin is amazing. She has taken care of all my babies for years. She is thorough and loves them as much as I do. Through their life and their passing she has been so kind. Can't say enough good things. She's the reason I was able to keep my pups so long. The front staff is also lovely to deal with they have helped me out when I had to move appointments at the last moment due to unforseen circumstances. They were so understanding. Pricing is also super reasonable. Great place to take your fur babies..

We love Hillside Vet. Our only concern was that we had a 3 :15 appt and left at 4. We were not taken. At 4 :30, we came back and were taken right away. Please take us at out schefuled time. Otherwise, a great vet.

Lots of other positive reviews about the great care they provide, so I thought I'd review another aspect of caring for animals where they excel: end of life. As our old lady Juno had a slow decline this past year, Dr. Camfield did a great job balancing our goals of extending out her good days with our desire not to subject her to painful or expensive interventions that likely wouldn't add much to her quality of life. When it became clear that Juno's good moments were decreasing, we made the decision to bring her to Dr. Camfield to take care of her one last time. They are very accommodating with these types of appointments, even when they are otherwise very busy. They put a little notice in the waiting room asking other guests to please be respectful because someone was saying goodbye to a pet. They have a separate entrance/exit to the exam room so your pet doesn't have to be frightened in the waiting room (and no one has to see you ugly cry). They wrapped her in a snuggly blanket, put in an IV and gave her a dose of medicine to calm her but where we could still interact with her. They gave us as much time as we needed to say goodbye, and Dr. Camfield explained what to expect. When we were ready, Dr. Camfield put another medicine through the IV and within seconds, our sweet "Voodoo Mama JuJu," our "Junie Balloonie," our "Juno What?" had crossed the rainbow bridge and was at peace. Dr. Camfield comfortably sat with us in our sadness, and she and her team even sent a handwritten card a little while later. Saying goodbye is the worst part of loving furbabies, and I'm grateful that, when this time comes, there is a caring team who excels at helping both humans and animals get through this time. RIP Juno Lee 2008-2022

I have been taking my cats to Hillside since about 2000 - about 8 different cats in all. I have always felt right at home there - in fact, I drive past several other veterinary clinics to get there, because I know I'll get great care for my felines and I will be treated kindly and with respect. The doctors are all very knowledgeable and very personable. I haven't worked with one that I didn't like immediately. It's obvious that they love the animals and want to show gentleness and concern - and not just for the pets, but for me. I've had 4-5 kitties cross the Rainbow Bridge from Hillside and I always felt great sympathy and support from all the staff. I certainly recommend this facility - it's definitely Number 1 on my list!!

We have two adopted Humane Society cats who visit Hillside Veterinary Hospital for check ups and immunizations. We've gone to several of the doctors and love them all. They are compassionate, wonderful with our animals and good at scheduling appointments that meet our needs. We like the support staff a great deal as well. Their prices are competitive as well. Highly recommend this group.

The staff and doctors here are all extremely friendly and helpful. We have had many doggy emergencies and they can usually get us in quick or the are very helpful over the phone. I trust this place with my babies. The only bummer is that the vets keep transferring to new hospitals so we keep having to start over with new vets. They have all been kind and knowledgeable though and I’m happy to give this place my business.

They are so nice. The vet spends a lot of time with you instead of at some places how the vet sneaks in for a few minutes but the nurse does most everything. Clean. They trimmed my dogs claws complimentary when I left her for xrays. My favorite vet.

I have been going to this vet for three years, so I figured it was time for me to write a review. I have seen Dr. Bartholomew and Dr. Esdorn. I was unfortunate to receive a bit of a lemon dog, and since I brought him home at eight weeks, he has been a mess. My first vet dismissed my concerns, so I switched to Hillside. Dr. Bartholomew worked hard to help me find a solution to his chronic tummy issues. She is kind, communicative, and great to work with. She would mention things she learned in continuing ed type classes, which is a great sign (keeping up on new science and utilizing it in practice!). Dr. Esdorn started taking over my dog's care when he went in for a UTI and she realized something was up with his kidneys. She devised a strategy to test his kidneys, and we found out he is in kidney failure. Since then, she has helped me figure out what to feed him, what his care should look like, and how we need to move forward with testing and treatment. Dr. Esdorn is gentle with my dogs, caring, and always answers my questions. She also understands that because my dog is a sensitive breed that I am always worried about how treatment will affect him and takes this into account when explaining treatments and reassuring me. Now, my dog - who at one point looked like he was feral because he was so emaciated and unhealthy - is a best of breed winning, trial winning sporting dog (attached is a photo of him in action, after Dr. Esdorn helped me get him back into trialing shape). I am very impressed with the level of care my dog has received. Dr. Esdorn has treated my other two dogs as well, who are much lower maintenance, and is always thorough and helpful. I am already sad that I will have to leave this clinic when I go away to grad school, and am trying to devise a plan to keep my dog's care in this clinic despite being states away. I would also like to give a huge shoutout to the front desk staff and techs. They are amazing! They are communicative, helpful, and love the dogs. They have worked hard to get me in when my especially sickly dog needs urgent care. They know my dog by name and always celebrate health wins with me. When my dog was neutered, they were kind and patient with him despite him spending the day screaming in his kennel. You could not find a better team of people to help treat your dogs.

EDIT:I have been there twice since my first visit and my rating still is 5 stars. The last 2 visits pearl was really aggressive towards the doctors and even with how crazy pearl acted they were still very helpful with me and even gave me suggestions and tips on how to calm her down a little bit. Extremely friendly staff. Went in last month as a new patient and the second I walked they treated me and my dog like family. The doctor that came into see pearl was really nice and gentle.

Our 9-month-old Great Pyrenees had shoulder surgery for an OCD lesion and they did fantastic work. He's going back in to have the other side operated on shortly and we look forward to him being taken care of and are comfortable leaving him there for the day. Jamie Bean is the best! She is always so amazing with my two dogs, they adore her. Lesa, at reception, was so accommodating to what I felt was an emergency visit (turns out I’m just a paranoid dog mom). I will give them 10 million stars if I can! I was so stressed out because my baby was having issues with his right eye and might go blind. He is a 3 y/o chihuahua. I have to see an ophthalmologist for him but when I tried to book an appointment no one was available to take him. Hillside Vet made everything possible and they even went above and beyond-- because I was working they even dropped my baby to another facility so he could be seen by an ophthalmologist. I am just so moved by what they did. I have never seen this kind of compassion nowadays. To the whole team at Hillside Vet Hospital. You are the greatest and I hope you continue to be a blessing to a lot of people.

My Bailey finally got a proper treatment for her wound at Hillside Veterinary Hospital. After the first vet's medicines didn't work for a week, I went to Hillside Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Bean gave Bailey new medicines then after taking the new medicines within a week, Bailey's wound is healing up. Photos show before and after in between 6 days.

I have been bringing my cat here since I adopted her six years ago and my mom took our dog here for years before that. They are really great! I know I can trust them and they always take good care of my cat. They did a dental surgery for her and she recovered quickly and easily. Took my new 9mo kitten in and got the works -- full inspection, fluids topped off, paws rotated, child seats removed, and her VIN number updated. Got her home and she was purring like the kitten she is. Within a couple of hours she was back to being a ball of fur with claws contemplating the destruction of all in her path. We’ve been going to Hillside Vet for over four years now, and always had great experiences, but our experience today was so wonderful I had to write about it! When we got there, every member of the front desk staff took turns coming out to give our dog pats, which he ADORED. During the vet appointment, Dr. Bean let my toddler daughter use her stethoscope on our dog and carry it around. As always, Dr. Bean (and the assistant!) were engaging, kind, and responsive. At the end, when I was struggling with a large dog, toddler, and trying to get out my wallet, my daughter started crying. One staff member immediately came over to hold my dog while two others offered my daughter candy and a paper crane (after checking with me!) This is all on top of the typical professionalism and care that is standard. Overall, it counted as a fun outing for my daughter who had a blast and learned things.

I recently took my feline friend to this Vet Hospital and it was a very clean and open atmosphere. Both receptionists had very bubbly and friendly personalities, and we were greeted and put through the appointment process in a timely manner. The Vet, I believe named Angie, was very nice and personable. You could tell she cared a great deal about each patient she was seeing. Would highly highly recommend this veterinarian clinic! They go above and beyond. Everyone there loves animals, it shows! My dog is happy to come! I have seen several veterinarians and they're all awesome, even answering my questions over the phone. Hillside veterinary is AMAZING! We always take our dog for his yearly checkups here, but most recently we had to take him in because he was throwing up blood and not keeping down any food or water. The staff worked us in same day and took excellent care of him! They're always so kind and I always feel in the loop about what's going on with him. They're always willing to help us whenever we need and we appreciate all of the staff so much! We love Hillside!

This is hands down the best veterinary hospital we've ever been to. We worked with Dr. Bean and she was very compassionate, knowledgeable and understanding of our concerns. Sadly, out little kitty recently passed away, but I feel like Dr. Bean gave us great advice and information with what was going on with him and how to prepare for the transition without having him around anymore. I've been to three other veterinary clinics and this is by far the best of any other clinic I've been to. We're glad to support this place, I can't recommend it enough.

Love everything about Hillside! Michelle is the most loving and caring vet we've ever met. She has taken care of our golden for years and couldn't be more loving and compassionate in every way when working with her. When she recently experienced a broken leg, Dr. Smith was incredible in diagnosing and helping us through the next steps, including a very extensive surgery. They are truly about caring for the whole family, including our little boys and our dog all together and the important role pets play in a family.

With 3 dogs and a cat, you find yourself at the vet more often than you'd like. The staff here have always been fantastic to work with, especially with our senior dog who has had a host of bizarre health issues that other vet offices couldn't figure out. I love their oversized waiting area that gives anxious pets space. The individual rooms are great too - always clean and never smell of chemicals. We've seen a variety of the vets there and have liked each and every one – nice to know that in an emergency situation you'll be in great hands, even if it's not the vet you usually see.

Took my 5 yr old cat in. They were very thorough, helpful, sensitive, and friendly. Customer service was five stars. They sprayed a towel with some spray to help my cat feel comfortable while taking him for a brief treatment. They ran tests my previous vet never even mentioned and followed up with a phone call for results and to see if I had any other questions. I felt like they wanted the best for my pet instantly.

We've been taking our dog Jack to Hillside Veterinary Hospital for 6 years now. The staff and doctors at Hillside VH are the absolute best! They are always very accommodating to our needs and willing to work with us on solutions to challenges. We love Dr. Bartholomew and all the care and love she shows our shy little Aussie when he has a doctor visit. Dr. Bartholomew is the best! She is fabulous. The doctors never "over treat" our dog and they are willing to take the time and effort to understand and answer any questions we might have. I would highly recommend this clinic for your furry loved one. September 2018 Update - We still love this clinic and the doctors provide great care. I have reduced my rating by one star due to a perceived decline in customer service at the front desk. Sadly, the last few times we have visited the clinic, the front desk staff seems indifferent and frankly not very happy to see us. I'm not sure if something has changed or if they don't like their jobs but they are the face of the practice and it would be nice to feel a little more appreciated and to be greeted with a smile and happy attitude. June 2020 Update - Still love this clinic and the staff. Would highly recommend them to anyone in need of loving and gentle care for their pet. Our experience with a couple front desk folks (see September update) has gone away and all is wonderful again! December 2020 Update - Still love this clinic and the staff. The front desk staff has improved since my 2018 review and they are very welcoming and friendly. They are attentive and have done a wonderful job during the 2020 pandemic crisis. Highly recommend Hillside Veterinary Hospital.

I could go on and on about all the experiences I've had at Hillside and how they've all been amazing, but you should probably just go yourself to know for sure and you will NEVER want to switch vets I am telling you. Every single person that answers the phone is kind and compassionate, they are ready to HELP and do everything they can. A little bit of background for you: Justin cleaned my pug's teeth without anesthesia, when I thought there was no hope! Dr. Guinn squeezed me into her schedule last minute when my new puppy was sick. Dr. Esdorn treated my cat up until the very end, with so much gentle care and kindness. Dr. Bean helped us say goodbye, and sat with us while we ugly cried. She just told us how amazing we were and that everything would be OK. The techs and receptionists have a tenacious love for animals, and it shows from the minute you walk in the door. I have moved further away from Hillside, and still refuse to take my dogs anywhere else. They truly do everything they can and they don't give up. They are there for the recoveries and the farewells, they make you feel like family and I am so so immensely grateful to them for everything!

EDIT from 8/31/20: It sounds like they have gotten new office staff and my concerns in the previous review are no longer happening. I was able to get in right away and their vets are now doing drop-in hours on certain days, rather being told I had to wait over a month for my sick dog to be seen. This is what was happening previously over and over and I just ended up having to go to another clinic since they could never seem to work us in, but I definitely missed the vets at Hillside! This time, though they were able to communicate very clearly with me and get me worked in the next business day. I am glad I tried them again! I had been seeing them for years and loved their vets and reasonable prices, but could never seem to get in to see them when my dogs were ill, thus my previous review. But that seems to no longer be an issue! :) Thanks for taking good care of my pet, Hillside!

I have gone to Hillside Vet for over 20 years. They have cared for our family pets in the most compassionate and trustworthy way. They care for our "kids" and understand that they are our "kids", even when difficult decisions arise. The front office staff are warm and caring too. The new facility is superb! I'm so impressed with the staff and the hospital. I have been here about 5 times. My dog had a breast tumor and I had taken her into a different Vet at first. I was told that I'm not giving her the proper care and that is probably why she has the tumor. They told me it was going to be well over $1000 to take care of her. I went online and saw that Hillside had really great reviews. I decided to bring her in to get a second opinion. At first I met with Michelle and she told me that the tumor just happened and I had done nothing wrong but she will need surgery and a biopsy to determine if it was cancerous or not.. Michelle was out of town when I took her in for surgery. She assured me that my dog is in good care and Jessica was the one who performed her surgery. I was not charged anything close to what the other place had quoted me and I was able to get her teeth cleaned as well. I highly recommend this place. I have been to a lot of Vets before and have never found one I absolutely loved until now.

I went to Hillside today for my first time.. To get my little old man a nice check up as I've been worried about him in his old age. I have had a very hard time finding a vet that I love and trust, but I think I've finally found the place! The whole staff was very friendly and made me feel comfortable and heard the whole time.. But I cannot say enough good things about the actual veterinarian we saw, Jennifer (sorry I cannot remember her last name right now).. She was very calm, kind, and very knowledgeable. She was also very understanding regarding my feelings and needs, and she made my furry best friend feel more comfortable than I've ever seen him at a vet. She also wasn't "pushy" about anything, as I have ran into with a lot of other vets. She was really just there to give me all of the information she could in order to help me make a decision, and recommendations where I wanted them. Keep up the amazing work Hillside!

After a frightening trip to the MedVet ER, I learned that my sweet English Bulldog, Banksy, needed surgery. My veterinarian recommended Hillside Veterinary Hospital and Granite Veterinary Specialists. I went for a consultation and to set up the procedure. That is when I met Dr Becker. He is Board Certified and specializes in soft tissue surgeries. I immediately felt comfortable talking to him. He is smart, honest, and relatable. The office staff was amazing as well. The process to schedule surgery was well coordinated and uncomplicated. My Banksy had a very successful procedure and was discharged home with me the following day. They took amazing care of my boy. The cost was amazingly reasonable. I hope we don’t have to return, but if anything were to happen, I would have complete confidence in bringing my dog back, or recommending his practice to anyone.

Hillside Veterinary Hospital is wonderful and they have taken care of my cats and dogs for years. I can honestly say that with my trouble makers who have had many visits to Urgent Care centers (partially because they are rebels, partially because I am a paranoid mama) I always return to Hillside for all follow ups, routine care, and crazy health surprises. I have unfortunately had to send a few of my babies over the Rainbow Bridge and Hillside has always handled this incredibly stressful time with dignity and love. Throughout the years I'm certain we have seen most of the Veterinarians and we have loved them all. I highly recommend Hillside as an animal primary care office. The only downside is that they do not have a 24/7 urgent care, but hopefully you will never need one!

We have been taking our dog here for several years and have always received great care. Our dog is a rescue and is scared of a lot of people and things but never here. They are so great with her. We have moved recently and are not as close but we continue to bring our fur baby here. Today, I called for an acute visit and was told that they do not have acute visits so I would need to take her to a pet ER to have her cough evaluated. Hillside Vet has been the best. After working with many vets (15+) over the years I decided to try and find someone new. A family member of mine looked around and found that Hillside had very decent pricing and decided to call. Dr. Michelle got on the phone with her and talked to her about what was going on. I thought that this was great considering that she didn't know who I was and had never seen my pet before. After speaking with her we decided that she was who we wanted to take my dog to. Upon arrival the wait very short, the procedure was quick, the price was great compared to everywhere else and Dr. Michelle was WONDERFUL. I ended up having to have the procedure done twice for my dog (ear drainage for hematoma) and both time at the office and every time on the phone we was amazing. I loved that although she needs to make money because this is her livelihood, she didn't seemed concerned about trying to make my bill expensive. She actually went out of her way to make sure that my bill was affordable and I am so appreciative for that. Again after working at several vets over years and years and years I would still recommend Dr. Michelle first. They are great to go to and I will continue to have my pets seen there.

I had a great experience at Hillside Veterinary Hospital! My cat had been acting "off" for a few days, so I started calling around and Hillside was able to get me an appointment the next day. Everyone was very kind and understanding, and I felt like I was listened to. My cat did not cooperate with the exam (shocker!) so we had to come back the next day for a sedated exam. Dr. Burchett in particular, and Hillside Veterinary Hospital in general, give my furry family the best care they've ever received. I've been a pet parent my entire life so I've seen a number of vets. Jillian Burchett is hands-down the best vet I've ever been to. Her treatment decisions make perfect sense. She treats conservatively and minimizes the use of general anesthesia (which is safer for any animal, including a human animal, but is extra important for those getting up there in age). Also, by treating conservatively you save money. She doesn't prescribe unnecessary procedures or medication. And my dog adores Dr. Burchett and the clinic in general. A few minor miracles she has performed... I've had a large, grumpy cat tolerate her cleaning out a deep and infected puncture wound using only local anesthetic. My dog is extremely sensitive to touch on his paws and he let her clip a few of his claws - sounds minimal but this is the first person in the history of this dog's life who has been able to do this. Also, her surgical skills are amazing. My dog is older and getting, well, lumpy. The surgical wounds from his growths being removed healed so fast I thought I would have to come in early for stitch removal! If I had more time this review would be 10 pages of me gushing about her and about Hillside in general. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Dr. Michelle is wonderful. I came with a shopping list of concerns and she was so easy to talk to and explain concerns--absolutely excellent listening and precise followup questions. She is kind and caring. Jeter is doing lots better already and some problems he had with his shoulder last year are much improved due to Dr. Michelle's patience in trying various medicine combinations. I have seen two of the other vets when Michelle was unavailable, and they, too, were great. I am happy to have found Hillside and can't imagine going anywhere else. The care is too-notch. compassionate, and fairly priced. I have always felt included in the care and decisions about our dogs care and I have never felt that tests were run or procedures done that were not necessary. That is a big deal!

The staff is nice and very helpful. The vet I saw was very nice and personable. The prices are on par with other local vets. The office offers different varieties of prescription foods, just a bit pricey. But it's a good way to try several types and flavors without having to purchase several cans or bags. They also offer a return policy if your finicky pet chooses not to like any of the foods.

An extraordinary veterinarian, we saw Dr. Bean during our first visit. She unbelievably spent 30 minutes with our two dogs without leaving the room. She sat on the floor most of the time letting them get comfortable with her and getting to know them as well. She advised of us things that no veterinarian in 20 years ever has, including how much dogs are over vaccinated. This topic has become widespread and rampant throughout the industry, and she was the first veterinarian to ever speak up. Dr. Bean further advised us on local Utah issues that we were not familiar with and we were so grateful. An additional reason for selecting this veterinarian besides neighbor referrals was the wonderful attitude, charm, and personality of the administrative staff. When we were calling around, Hillside's staff were the most enjoyable, genuine, pleasant, and sincere office staff I have ever communicated with. They were straight up honest and charming answering several questions we had. They worked hard and wery very flexible to get us a first time visit appointment with the popular vacation season upon their staff. We are so fortunate and grateful to have found Hillside being new in town. Dr. Bean is quite special and unique, I believe she is a role model for the entire medical field, and is the paradigm for what doctors should be like. You also won't find friendlier administrative staff at Disney World. Next time I get bored or upset, I plan to call the office just to chat and enhance my demeanor! Lastly, and more importantly, our dogs seemed to love Dr. Bean. Usually they would tremble, shake and be resistant and uncooperative, but those traits never promulgated while there, which was amazing to witness. We'll definitely be back, hopefully just for routine check-ups. Thank you.

My dogs got into something serious. My two dogs and my friend’s dog. I called Cottonwood Animal Hospital (yuck) because Hillside isn’t a walk-in vet. They kept me on hold for thirty minutes just to say to watch my dogs closely and call pet poison (which is $50 per call). I did some research online for what they had ingested (which I could not pinpoint how much was eaten) and saw that it is extremely toxic and commonly deadly. I called Hillside. Explained that it was an emergency and I couldn’t afford the hospital bills at Cottonwood Animal Hospital and I needed help for all three dogs immediately. They assured me I could rush in and they would work with me. Upon walking in they recognized me (since it’s not often that you see two girls struggling to contain three puppies). They took the dogs back instantly. They kept us updated with everything they did. They waived the appointment fees for all dogs and only charged for the treatments. For a girl who didn’t get paid for a whole month then had to backdate bills when she did finally get paid, this was an amazing, heartwarming gesture. For less than $200, these amazing people saved all three dogs (luckily it could stay this inexpensive due to only one of the dogs having significant need for treatment). That bill was nearly identical to bringing my dog to an appointment at Cottonwood with the appointment fee and medication they gave. FOR ONE DOG AND ONLY ONE CHEAP MEDICATION. Truly if you love your animals, you HAVE to bring them here.

I have full trust and confidence with the staff at Hillside Vet Clinic, and asked him to take her there. The staff is very competent and caring. One of the things I like most about this clinic is that they don't try to sell you on a bunch of tests that your pet does not need. They are solution focused with the problem on hand. Hillside is a little far from my home, but its definitely worth the drive. This was my first visit and now hillside will forever be the vet hospital I take my animals to. The front desk employees were so sweet, and kind. The person that I had talked to on the phone made sure that everything was taken care of for my first visit. She got my pets records from our original vet, which is something I forgot to even ask for. The reason why I made this visit was because Dr. Guinn had moved to this hospital. I would recommend everyone that has exotic pets to see her. She really gets to know your animal and will get down on their level to check them out. She makes the visit feel very personalable, takes times to answer your questions and concerns. She has a bright friendly personality and she really has a passion and huge love for animals. Shes the only vet that I'll take my bearded dragon to. All in all it's an amazing hospital, and as I said it will now be my permanent animal hospital. Even the people waiting in the lobby were super nice. The only negative thing I would say is that their parking lot is really small. The parking lot across the street has signs that dont allow for non customers to park in their lot. Since this is something hillside cant change it doesnt effect how many stars I give them, nor would it make me stop coming.

We have a friend with a dog that has sever anxiety(and sometimes aggression) over vet visits, he brought his boy in Hillside(they call muzzle's "party Hats") where he said he had the best vet experience he's ever had with he's frightened boy and that the usual muzzling wasn't even necessary.

They worked (Dr Eastman) my dog in for a procedure same day. I showed up at 8 am hoping that they would still have space as they closed early the night before. They were great and got her taken care of before 10. She is now recovering and will get the sutures out in about 2 weeks. Dr Burchette kindly worked both my girls into one appt time. That wasn't really fair of me to ask but the one just needed an antibiotic and it was so nice for her to not make me come back. They were friendly. I'm around my cat every day and I know his attitude and behavior pretty well. I know how he feels all over his body. I know how his eyes should look. The only thing she noticed that I didn't was his teeth needed some cleaning. The reason I bring that up at all is because I had to go through a full checkup to be told what I already know and can find out myself when all he needed was a quick fix medicine that isn't really guaranteed to fix it. I've already heard the same story from another vet that you could CLEARLY tell something was wrong (with a different cat) and she just wanted to run up hundreds of dollars in tests to make "professional opinions" of what the issue is. They ran a few tests to determine his kidneys were not working properly, "try this pill". He passed away soon after. These guys didn't provide me anymore confidence in their services than what the other office did. When it comes to my best friend, I have high expectations. If I pay $1 or $1500, I expect to know he is being properly diagnosed. Also most of the reviews say they cannot recommend them enough in different ways. Makes me nervous that the reviews are fake. Finally, I'm giving them this review because they are friendly, they are average and seem like all other vets, and they make an effort in trying to help you understand. They were nice with my cat and he wasn't too upset. Will I go back when he has an issue? Probably, unless I can find a better vet through word of mouth recommendations.

They helped us manage her kidney disease until it was time to let her go and then helped us with that. We have since acquired two rescue cats, one of which was a very sick kitten. I don't even know where to begin with this fantastic team of dedicated superstars. I'm admittedly a crazy dog lady with 4 furbabies. Dr Michelle and her team have been with me through all sorts of things over the years from annual exams to more serious illnesses and even having to but one of my girls to sleep. They treat each of them like their own and I trust their judgement and advice every time it's given. They are thorough and honest with options for treatment. Most recently, my Doberman had cervical spine surgery and was paralyzed after surgery. (Just as a note, this is not surgery done at Hillside.) This team has been with us through this roller coaster - EVERY STEP OF THE WAY - to get her walking again. They've celebrated our small successes and been concerned with any set backs. Dr Michelle has been in touch regularly about different complications we've been managing. We've also been coming twice a week for acupuncture with Dr Katrina before starting physical therapy. Not only is she knowledgeable in providing a specific course of treatment specific to my dog's needs, acupuncture clearly helped because as of last night, my girl is WALKING AGAIN!! The techs are gems as well, and I've seen them act professionally and compassionately with my dogs and other patients. From sponge baths and pep talks to knowing everyone's name when they arrive - this clan is clearly a tight bunch and have all worked there for many years. If you love your pets like I love mine, there's no better place to have them treated than Hillside Veterinary Hospital.

We’ve been taking our two dogs here for a few years. We’ve seen Dr Easton, Guinn, and Bartholomew. All have been positive experiences up until our last visit with Dr Michelle Bartholomew. She decided to give me a lecture regarding grain free diets and canine DCM. The second she heard the words grain free she went into a scare tactic rant explaining that dogs NEED to eat grain foods and that she doesn’t even feel like she would want to do the procedure we had discussed with our dog because he’s on a grain free diet. All this despite not even being familiar with the brand of food that we feed our dogs. My wife and I are responsible pet owners and have done our own research into the FDA Canine DCM report...if you do research, it is quite controversial and lacks merit in a lot of places. We’ve seen a number of vets including a holistic one, all of whom have never had any concerns regarding our dogs diets, they are usually impressed. I get it if she is on the ”Purina, Hills - feed dogs grain“ bandwagon, but the way she approached it with us rubbed me the wrong way. Would love to go back to Hillside but I will try to avoid Dr Bartholomew.

Our experience with Hillside Veterinary Hospital has been stellar over years of patronship. Many years ago, (on a recommendation from a friend) our animals began seeing Dr. Kaye Brown. Dr. Brown gave our lab/pit mix great care for years and ultimately provided a very peaceful and humane experience when her life came to a sad but expected end. Beside Dr. Brown we have seen most of the other staff at Hillside including Dr. Michelle Schilling. We repeatedly were impressed with her knowledge and by the honest care Dr. Schilling provided to our animals; ultimately we began asking for Dr. Schilling exclusively. She not only is one of the most skilled animal practitioners we have worked with, she is also kind and caring. We believe animals can sense much in humans which we miss. Our little dogs (we work with a chihuahua rescue society) trust and feel safe with Michelle. Every time we brought in oldest chihuahua, Dr. Schilling would say, "I just love this dog"; we knew she was not putting on a show, because, for this animal in particular, the feeling was obviously mutual. Our sweet little girl recently passed away at home. Dr. Schilling and the staff of Hillside walked us through the mourning process comforting us as they too (honestly) mourned her loss. The staff even gave us a thoughtful expression of sympathy by making a donation to Best Friends Animal Society in her memory. Going to the Vet can be an extremely stressful event for our pets. The staff sees them only on their (and subsequently OUR) worst days. I can not imagine how difficult it must be to see animals suffering day in and day out. I strongly believe that these people are saints. Even though they possess special talents needed to do their work, I also know, from experience, that they are not all equal to Dr. Schilling and her staff. Hillside Veterinary Hospital is nearly a half-hour drive from our home. And even though its a complete pain to have to drive past so many other (likely skilled) vets, I will not go anywhere else. For as long as we are able to keep rescuing and fostering animals, our home will remain full of animal companions. Likewise, Dr. Schilling will remain our Vet; she has earned our trust and respect. I highly recommend Dr. Michelle Schillinger and Hillside Animal Hospital.

My husband and I purchased two Himalayan kittens little over two years ago. A brother and sister. The boy (Thor) had problems from the first week brought them home. He got kitty litter in his eye (first ER visit). Then he swallowed a piece of ribbon (second ER visit). Then he started getting eye and face infections. I took him to the same ER vet but during business hours and the doc told me that he had a uncureable disease and I would have to put him down. Keep in mind he was barely a year old. My husband and I were devastated. I reached out to a dear friend ( Jessica Smith ) and asked her for a referral for a good vet. She referred us to Dr Melissa Vetter at Hillside. I went in there a few days later and let her know what the other vet said and she totally disagreed. She said we will get to the bottom of what is causing him so much discomfort. We discovered Thor just had really, really bad allergies. We have been treating him for those and he is a completely different kitty. He's happy, loving, playful kitty! I owe a huge thank you to all the staff (just to name a few... Hannah, Melise and the very nice male vet tech ) and the other vets ( Dr Katrina Easton ). I highly recommend this place! I cannot say enough for the incredible help I've received from Dr. Jenny Durbin at Hillside Vet. When I initially called to see which doctor specialized in cats her name was immediately mentioned. My sweet elderly kitty was on her way across the rainbow bridge from kidney failure and over the course of two months Dr. Jenny helped me so much to determine how to look out for the signs on helping my sweet girl rest by putting her to sleep before her pain became too much for her. I wanted to keep her around much longer but that would have been selfish on my part. She reframed this decision for me as a final act of extreme love for what this sweet soul has given me over so many years. The experience itself was made so much more comforting for both of us that Dr. Jenny had helped in this way. All received excellent care regardless of which vet saw them. Sad to say Bigelow was killed when he was let out of his run by a neighbor and then ran into the street when thunder scared him. I then got Poppet when she was abandoned by my office. She hadn't even been weened but Hillside pulled her through and kept her going until she died of old age. Gabe was next and they provided care that included two knee replacements and they him happily active for over 14 years even though he had a heart problem requiring medication. He was 6 when Lucy joined the family. She's now 13 and keeps up with the rest of family's fuzzy kids. They are all younger. In fact we are so happy with Hillside, my brother, daughter, and niece all take their well loved and spoiled dogs, past and present, there.

My dog had a surgery here in November 2016. Dr. Katie Domann performed the surgery, removing a massive lump and adding two drainage tubes. During the first surgical appointment she explained in detail everything she was going to do, and performed all the necessary tests. The surgery went well and post-op recovery went exactly as she explained it would. Even when I got nervous sometimes Dr. Domann was a great support - I could email or call her at any time and she would answer immediately. It's not our first or second surgery with Dr. Domann, and each time the results are perfect. I wish Dr. Domann could be my family doctor.
