Reviews of Warwick Animal Hospital
I called around to several animal hospitals to get a same day appointment for my dog who was experiencing rectal bleeding. I was unable to get anybody to see him the same day, except for this facility. From the minute I walked in with my dog, to the minute I left, every staff member that I had interactions with were amazing. They were all professional, understanding, pleasant, and overall very welcoming. The doctor was very patient when explaining everything that was going on and gave me many options to decide what I thought would be best for my dog. I would highly recommend Warwick Animal Hospital, and would return without hesitation. THANK YOU LADIES!!
Warwick Animal Hospital was our vet for both our cat and dog. When it was time to say goodbye to our dog, the staff did an amazing job making the process comfortable for our dog, but they also took care of us. We felt the team understood the pain we were going through and made the terrible situation bearable. Thank you for being so caring when we needed support and comfort.
Over the past 20+ years we have taken out pets here. Everyone has always been great to work with and have total commitment and dedication to the well being of your pet. They are so full of compassion
I had called around to several vet clinics for an emergency same day appointment for my cat, this was the only clinic that was so welcoming and made the appointment the same day, also the receptionist had great customer service skills. (Reading some of the comments below, yes there was a 150$ same day emergency appointment fee, but if you think about a trip to the hospital with your child could cost thousands of dollars I feel the fee is justified and would have paid more if asked.)
The vet and the vet tech were so lovely handling my animal, asking lots of questions about his habits, personality, and home life, I was actually quite shocked how I put up with my last vet whom I had gone to for 8 years. I had a great experience at this vet, I switched both of my animals records over and am looking forward to the next visit when needed.
Amanda and her staff went above and beyond for our fur baby Titan. Titan got sick really sudden really fast and Amanda was completely upfront and honest with me during our whole experience, she made me extremely comfortable and her staff as well as her comforted my family when making the difficult choice to put our dog down. They gave us as much time as we needed with our boy in our private room until we were ready and allowed us to stay for as long as we needed to after. They are extremely compassionate and caring. I couldn’t have asked for a better staff to be around during as difficult time.
I have not actually been to this facility, however, I was just calling around frantically trying to find an animal hospital to bring my dog to immediately because I just found a full tick stuck on her. I don’t know what to do or what could happen to her and I just love her so so much so I was really in a panic (maybe some underlying anxiety issues too huh lol). Anyway, everywhere I was calling was just saying they weren’t accept new patients; if they answered the phone. I am SO grateful Melissa answered the phone here at Warwick Animal Hospital. She actually just gave me a bunch of information about ticks the possibilities, probabilities so I was able to make an informed decision on what to do for my dog with Melissa’s information. She REALLY calmed me down so I was able to just help my dog and now not have to worry profusely that likely something terrible is going to happen to her. Melissa did not have to give me any of this information or answer my questions. She could’ve just told me they weren’t accepting new patients or schedule me for a seemingly unnecessary emergency visit which would be expensive. Instead she just chose to do the right thing and just provide the information that she knows from her profession and experience to me since I do not have the experience and do not know, and I believe I was able to resolve the situation much more simpler than I anticipated only thanks to Melissa’s help. I can not tell you how much this means to me, as my dog is my baby, my best friend, my life companion being a woman in my mid 30s, single with no children. Quite frankly, she means more to me than anything in the world, as I’m sure many people can relate to. What an incredible representation of the amount of caring provided at this facility, which is really what we need when we’re looking for help for our most prized possession. Melissa, I sincerely can not thank you enough. I hope this good karma finds it’s way back to you in a time of need for you and I’m also going to do my best to pay it forward for someone in need that I have knowledge and experience with, as you did for me. God bless you.
I love WAH. This is my fourth dog and we always go here. But this day was quite frustrating. I’m still not allowed inside. I must call from my car and immediately get put on hold. Long story short: I was stopping to pick up medicine and to schedule an appointment for 2 shots. Start to finish, just over an hour.
Like many places, they are probably short handed. But I’m just telling it as it was that afternoon. Not pleasant.
Doctor Casto is great examining my two cats. Problem is my eighteen year old needs multi year medication and every time compound center requires justification animal facility acts as though new experience. This should be an automatic non-stop refill for old cat
Update. Dr. Castro bypassed what she said was new employee issues by notifying the compound center that medication is continuous till cat dies. Don't know why this good doctor will allow incompetent employees to impact her facility.
They were VERY supportive with my dog, who was very worked up that day. Dr. Echt was excellent. He suggested a couple of OTC remedies that worked VERY well! What I really appreciate is that he did that, instead of forcing us to pay large fees for something they have there!
All the staff are professional and knowledgeable and so nice. They all love what they do and it shows. I have 3 cats and a dog, they take good care of them.
I can't say enough good things about Warwick Animal Hospital. The whole staff but especially Caitlin went above and beyond to assist my grand-cat and daughter. She is the best to deal with me all the way from New Jersey. Thanks so much :)
We weren't able to save my girl. But the staff here did their best. They took her in right away and were honest with us. I'm devastated that my girls gone, but I'm glad that she died at a place where people really cared about her.
First time getting our dog groomed at Warwick Animal Hospital by a wonderful lady name Destiny. She did a terrific job. our dog is very old and he seemed very calm with Destiny. we were so happy with the results. Thanks so much we will be back.
All of our dogs (4) have been in their care. The staff is gentle, and, I feel, very sincere in their care for them
My labradoodle Teddy went in for a dental cleaning and the results were incredible. I asked for before and after pictures and I am so glad I did. The difference was truly amazing. The techs walked me through the process and answered all of my questions and the front desk staff called me during the process to let me know his status during the day. It was a long day for my pup but knowing that there were no extractions needed and the cleaning took care of 5 years of dental plaque and tartar made it worth the effort. Dr Echt called afterward and spoke to me about the procedure and future preventative care for 15 minutes. He and his staff are professional, knowledgeable and compassionate. I Highly recommend Warwick Animal Hospital for anyone considering dental cleanings for their fur babies.
Wonderful people. I am actually switching my animals to this vet because they’re so nice and helpful. I needed an emergency surgery for my cat, and while my other vet wouldn’t see me for a month, they got me in for a consult, AND the surgery within 1 week. They showed true care and passion for what they do. Thank you guys :) here’s my kitty post-op and feelin good 💕
Excellent veterinary care. They also have wonderful grooming services. I also board our dog with them when away and they provide such wonderful care. I am able to call as much as I want to see how our best friend is doing. They have a nice grassy outdoor fenced area where they individually walk your dog several times a day. They even washed the blankets I checked him in with before pickup. You can arrange to have your pet washed and groomed the day before pickup as well. Top notch five star service all around ..would not trust anyone else with our little guy.
Dr. Echt is extremely good with my nervous dog Scout. I will be returning with Scout because of him and the rest of the staff!!
Our cat Leia was having some issues one morning, so I looked to find a vet open on Sunday. I ended up taking her here, and it was great (except, ya know, for the whole sick cat thing...). The staff is friendly, and the waiting rooms and examining rooms were very clean. The office seems to be split in two, with one side for cats, one side for dogs (I don't know what happens if you sprain your hamster). I was charged $125 for an emergency visit, and various labs and such were about $150/ea. We have a follow-up on the 19th, so I'll be able to add more details then.
Dr. Spinella takes very good care of my animals. I have on few left and she knows how important it is to mayonnaise health to give her a good quality of life. She sits on the floor with the animals for exams. The staff is also very caring of our pets and Love my Libby!
I've been taking my pets to Warwick Animal Hospital for 14 years. I have worked with Dr Castro, Dr Spinella and Dr Karcher. They, along with all the vet techs and front desk staff are excellent. I know my dogs are in good hands at every visit. I also highly recommend Destiny, the in-house groomer. She does an excellent job, my dogs aren't there all day, and the prices are reasonable. Highly, highly highly recommended!!!!
They are wonderful with my dogs great staff but one of the doctors is a b word she tries to belittle my wife with our dog my dog has bad allergies we didn't know what it was so she said it could be anything that's is in the dog food so we started cooking rice and chicken or ground beef or ground turkey we add turamic peas carrots and green beans and also add pumpkin puree and the doc was tryna talk shhh because we wouldn't but the allergy meds or the "special" dog food they wanted us to buy mind u the dog food was like $120 for like a 20lb bag I have a big dos that 20lb bag would last less than a week and the meds we ended getting it at Walmart pharmacy for 120 a month when they tried to charge us almost 200 for the same exact meds ...I will nolonger bring my dog there if that pos doc is there. Other that doc rhe rest of the staff is amazing I do like them very much.
I love taking my dogs here. I trust everyone there and they are all so super nice.
Warwick Animal hospital is the most amazing veterinary experience I've had in my 45 years as a pet owner. I highly recommend this compassionate and affordable business.
Everyone is always so kind, patient and understanding. I always receive the best help when I'm there.
First time here and the staff is absolutely amazing. Compassionate, caring, loving, concerned. I had to put down my cat of 20 years, I woke up on New Year’s Day and she couldn’t walk anymore so I knew it was time. They were able to take me in a few hours after I called. Everyone there had made me feel as if they were part of my family and they were all heartbroken for my loss. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place and I will definitely be bringing the rest of my pets here in the future.
Tonight my 2 year old Rottweiler was choking and I brought her to the animal hospital after trying to dislodge what she was choking on. We pulled up and the staff immediately assisted us and evaluated her right away. I am so thankful for their immediate assistance and for being so caring. Amazing staff, definitely recommend and am grateful for their help.
We went to the animal hospital on a Sunday and the office kept regular hours even on weekends. Called them on Sunday morning and were seen mid afternoon. The staff is extremely friendly and caring of our dog. Our dog felt totally relaxed and allowed the Veterinarian to effortless treat her. Even when they took her into another room without me, our dog was totally relaxed with the staff. I'm thinking about switching clinics as a result of the way we were treated on our visit.
My labradoodle had skin issues and his primary doctor kept saying it was fleas but I knew it wasn't and the medicine just kept making my dog sicker, so out of frustration I tried Warwick Animal Hospital and they knew exactly what his skin issues were. 9 years later I still bring my dog there
I can't say enough good things about Warwick Animal Hospital. Over the past year or so our dog has been kind of a medical mystery. The whole staff but especially Dr. Hanley went above and beyond to try and figure out what was wrong. She would go there a few times a year for bg curves for her diabetes and they loved when she would come. They made us feel so comfortable leaving her and we knew they loved her like family. Last week we had to put Callie down and they were just unbelievable on the hardest day. If your looking for an animal hospital to treat your pet like family, this is where you should go.
I recently brought my elderly dog there to be examined and ultimately had to be put to sleep. They're not his regular vet but they still got him in and looked at right away, which was huge! They were very efficient and very caring! Exceptional!
The vet and all her staff were fantastic, thorough and I got the sense they were in it because they have a true love for animals. I will always recommend them to anyone who asks and, if you're wondering, they very affordable as well
Warwick Animal Hospital has been so great to my dog! We got her in October and have been 3-4 times now for various needs and each time they have been extremely helpful and caring towards her. You can tell they truly care about the animals and want what is best for them. All of the vets and technicians I have spoke with have been nothing but polite, professional, and informative. I would recommend them to anyone in the area. I also feel they are reasonably priced (compared to what I have heard about other veterinary offices in the area).
Very caring when I had to put my Cat Sandy down and never rushed me when I had to say goodbye. I'd highly recommend this Animal hospital, the staff is amazing and Ive never felt more at home when bringing my Fur Babies in.
The staff are so kind and caring and knowledgeable. They told me things about my cat that my primary vet didn't know. My cat is a fighter too but they kept thier calm while holding her safe in order to do thier exam
We brought our 14 year old very sick yorkshire terrier to them. He had pretty bad pneumonia. They supported us in the decisions we made for our dog and his condition. Happy to say after a month our dog is on the mend and we wouldn't be here without their help and support. They were always so patient with all our questions.
Been coming here around 6 years for all our animals! Compared to other vets the pricing is fair. Everyone is nice and helpful even though they do get real busy. Only negative thing to say would be the wait times are around an hour, but like I said they are always busy and get emergency’s coming in throughout the day too. But overall a great experience and trust them with my pets life!
Wonderful experience. My little man was sick. Called prior, set up an appointment, brought him there, wonderful female vet. She explained so much, she was very educating and thorough. 2 weeks later.... my little man is all better!!👍🙂😇❤ …
Excellent service...and get back to me on any questions or concerns about my dog..
I had a traumatic experience putting my dog to sleep his own doctor who ive brought 3 dogs to for 15 years wanted to charge 280 thus vet who ive never been to was very kind and helpful and only charged me 125
They take good care of our Roxy
Such a great Animal Hospital. They truly care about your animals and are so good with them. Very informative and they tell you want you need to know without making you feel bad. I don't want to go to another Vet office.
We began going to Warwick Animal Hospital when Dr. Clark amputated our rescue dog's leg due to osteosarcoma. They realized how urgently he needed the operation and were able to schedule him in quickly. Even though they are a large practice, they provide personalized and individualized care. They provided outstanding support throughout our dog's chemotherapy (at Angell in Boston). Dr. Karcher, Dr. Castro and the vet nurses were always empathetic to our dog's anxiety in a clinical environment. They took extra steps to make him comfortable. Thank you and highly recommended.
This hospital is amazing! Dr. Echt was very professional, responsive, and explained everything so well! Every visit the staff was so caring and great to my dog. Even when my dog's care got more complicated, the staff got me answers by talking to other professionals to make sure that they got the best educated answers for me!
There are very compassionate people that work here. Dr. Spinella and the staff are wonderful. Flexible appointments are available too. I was shocked I could get an appointment for my dog so quick. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating is the prices. I found it to be a little more expensive than the other places. My fur baby had an ear infection and they got him in right away and took care of it. Even showed me how to so I could do it home too. I definitely thought it was worth it.
From the moment you walk through the doors you feel like family. The entire staff is wonderful. The doctors spend all the time YOU need to understand your pets condition. The first time I brought my dog there he was shaking with anxiety. Now he has no apprehension in the waiting room. Our baby is our world, that's why we keep coming back
I took my kitty milly in for her first appointment she had a stuffy nose and a crusty ear. I was nervous that I had to wait outside, and trust someone with my baby that I never met, they were very understanding, and reassuring that she was in good hands. The doctor called me and talked to me and made sure to explain everything to me. He answered every question I had. Everyone seemed very friendly. The doctor also worked with me and didnt try to add on any unnecessary tests to rack up a crazy bill. He also gave me prices of what was being done before he did it, and talked to me about different options. The whole appointment took about a hour and a half but wasnt bad at all. There were no open appointments when I called to schedule so I had to wait like a month before I could bring her in. They are open 7 days a week as a emergency vet and told me I could bring her in if I needed anything before hand so waiting a month for the appointment didnt bother me.
Warwick Animal Hospital was kind enough to schedule our new puppy within days of our call. The staff was professional, prompt and kind. Everything was explained diligently and our puppy was returned to us quickly. We were happy that our puppy was seen so quickly and the appointment went smoothly.
Grateful for their extended hours! Needed care for a gnarly hotspot on a Sunday and all vet ER’s were packed and couldn’t take non life threatening issues.
I had a positive experience taking my dog to the Warwick Animal Hospital. My basset hound had stomach issues and developed a UTI because of it. My regular vet clinic was booked and I wanted to get my dog treated ASAP because of the pain associated with UTI. The clinic was able to get me in a couple of hours after I called. The staff were all friendly and courteous. I informed the doctor that I was not a rich man and needed to keep costs as low as possible and she seemed to oblige this. Overall I would take my dog here again for emergencies. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was because the price for services was a bit high compared to my regular clinic.
The standard of care here is exceptional. It's obvious that the vets and techs love animals. The facility is clean and the grounds are well kept. I took my dog Inga in 9 years ago for end of life care and the compassion they showed was remarkable. They even manage to keep my new dog Bailey, who is nervous from having been a stray, calm and happy.
1st come 1st served
Better have CC info in hand when calling for appointment...need it to hold your appointment
very professional and caring during regular as well as emergency visits
I went here in 2016 for my cat to have surgery and it was very expensive it cost $2,700 but they said they got the best surgeon in the state of Rhode Island, veterinary surgeon. However when I just called the other day to get my cat's records they said they no longer held on to them from 2016 like why would you not have records for your patience I don't understand that normally that's just stored on a computer so I found that a little bit and they can be very expensive for vet here at this place but they are now also a 24-hour emergency hospital and they're a little bit less than the mainstream Ocean State 24-hour that hospital which is extremely expensive so your doctors are very educated and they know what they're doing just be prepared for their prices
The staff there is amazing. My elderly cat deteriorated severely overnight and from the moment my boyfriend took him in, they were incredibly kind and honest with us. The doctor let us know our options and was incredibly kind and patient with us as we decided what to do.
Unfortunately, we had to put our cat down. They took great strides in making sure he was comfortable and happy, and they walked us through each step of the process. After we went back to get the ashes, the ver had included a hand-written sympathy letter with it.
This place is really amazing. They take care of the people as much as they do the animal, and I couldn't recommend it more.
We took our little Lucy Bones Armstrong in for the first time today and we can't say enough wonderful things about the Dr., and fantastic staff there! Lucy was cared for and loved, and it was a wonderful experience for her and as parents of a very young kitten. Lucy has found her new home for care and us for guidance as new kitten parents. Lost of love to you all.
The staff are always welcoming and attentive to your dogs needs. My pup ended up needing surgery and they were amazing to work with. Plus, they accept care credit which was very helpful when paying for his surgery.
I've been bringing my cat here for the last 4 years since I got her and I've never been disappointed with their doctors. Although they are a bit pricier than elsewhere in my opinion, they are open during convenient hours and accept online appointment scheduling.
Dog and cat areas are well separated and the place is clean. Does not smell at all, although last time I was here (April 2017) there were blood stains on the floor! Scary!
When my old vet became too hard to get in touch with, I began looking for a new vet and am very happy that I chose Warwick Animal Hospital. They're not the cheapest vet in the area, but I am a firm believer in that you get what you pay for and so far, each time I've visited, the care and attention provided has been well worth the cost.
I've been fortunate to have had two of my pets seen by Dr. Belair and can't sing her praises enough! She's one of the most thorough, professional and compassionate veterinarian's I've met. She takes the time to listen to concerns and questions and offers thoughtful, reasonable recommendations. She's a doctor that you can trust and feel completely comfortable with, which is extremely important to me.
Lastly, the convenience of their scheduling is amazing. Getting an evening appointment for your pet when you work a full time job is not generally an easy task, but thankfully Warwick Animal Hospital offers it!
All vets aren't created equal, do yourself and your pet a favor and consider Warwick Animal Hospital!
edit - I see some negative comments about the wait times. I don't know every specific situation, but I will say that it's important to understand that this place is also an emergency vet. That being said, during our appointment last night, Dr. Belair needed to leave to attend to an emergency which is entirely beyond the control of the hospital or the staff. In these situations it's important to put yourselves in the shoes of the pet owner who's pet is suffering the emergency and remember that you'd want the staff to drop what they're doing and save/attend to your pet, which is exactly what I saw.
This place is great! I switched from my previous vet because these people actually seem to care about the animals and you! I can tell they took good care of my dog! She was hardly scared at all and seemed to like both the doctor and the technician!
Unfortunately, I received very bad news about my best friend of 12 years, my dog Cooper.
Dr Hanley & the staff were so kind & sympathetic with me. They were very busy but she took her time to not only explain things to me but she answered all my questions & never once did I feel she was rushing. The tech that was fantastic with my Crazy Cooper!!
All I can do is pray that this medication will slow the progression of his disease. 💔
My boy was not easy to deal with. He was aggressive and always needed a muzzle. He was 15 years old and his quality of life was not great anymore, Dr Spinella was awesome. Incredibly sweet and understanding, and was there when we had to put our sweet boy down. She was there with me as I sobbed.. they truly care. They even sent me a print of my sweet boys paw. Worth every dime I ever spent there. Be good to these women they see it all from amazing to the very end. I will always recommend this hospital.
All 3 dogs had kennel cough simultaneously...my regular vet is too far, so I needed a new one. Warwick Animal Hospital was well recommended so I tried them and they were wonderful. The staff were friendly and Dr. Eicht was knowledgeable and all my dogs liked him. I'll be going back again for sure.
I had a wonderful experience we took our cat Mr.Foo there. They were very nice and took the time to explain everything as well as many follow up calls. I recommend them highly
I had a good experience. However, their prices are pretty steep. I cannot afford taking my 6 month old kitten to be neutered for a quoted almost $500! Needless to say, they just lost a patient.
When we had to bring our little girl Angel there for an emergency, they were amazing. Sadly, she was in full heart and pulmonary failure, and her prognosis was very poor, we made the decision to let her go and not suffer. The entire staff from Vet to front desk were nothing short of caring and compassionate. They placed me, my family, and our little girl above $$, and made a very difficult decision a little easier to bare. From the very bottom of our hearts, we thank everyone at WAH for everything they did or tried to do for our little girl.
Brought my grand dog “Max” there, this morning for an acute urgent visit. The veterinarian and staff went above and beyond to care for him and helped ease our worries. Very professional! Thank you so much!
To the wonderful staff... Thankyou for the beautiful sympathy card with Millie's paw print 🐾 ❣️ …
I have had nothing but great things to say about everyone that works here. We have had to put a dog down there that wasn't even a patient and they were so welcoming to us. After that experience I switched my new puppy with them. We have owned dogs for 29 years and never had to experience what we went through with our new labrador puppy. He needed emergency surgery for an intestinal issue which was life threatening. Everyone there was so nice and courteous to us. Thankful that everything turned out okay. I feel so comfortable that I can call and when I mention my dogs name they know who I am. They take the time to answer your questions and don't rush you. My labradore is now over a year and loves to go and see his friends.
I was able to get an appointment scheduled the next day. No wait time after I arrived. The staff and was very friendly. The price for the office visit and prescription was a little high. I would recommend them for the level care and service provided.
I am a life-long dog owner and have tried several local veterinary hospitals but I have not found one better than Warwick Animal Hospital. They always provide top quality care for my dogs.
Heather, the hospital manager, and the rest of the staff are professional, courteous and my dogs love going there.
I travel frequently, so I have also begun boarding my dogs here. The hospital is conveniently located near TF Green airport so I can drop them off on my way and pick them up upon my return.
Over the past many years, I have turned to Warwick Animal Hospital for emergency care for very ill cats. My cats always seem to need care at night and on Sundays, so even though they are not my usual vet, I have sought their help. The first time I found a small kitten hanging by his neck in a bush. He had expended all his energy and I (and the vet we saw there) didn't think he'd make it. The doctor said that I could leave him there overnight, but he didn't think it would help, and be very expensive. Instead, he taught me how to give him fluids by injection. Against all odds the little guy survived.
Two times I have had to bring cats who were dying there so their suffering could be stopped. On all three of the above mentioned occasions we were treated with tremendous respect and compassion by all of the employees. The care was not cheap, but I am always shocked by the cost of vet services. I think since most of us have health insurance and only have to pay co-pays and deductibles, we aren't really aware just how much medical care of every kind costs. I did not find the fees at Warwick Animal Hospital to be excessive compared with other vets.
Today, a very special little cat that has been my companion for 17 years made it known it was time for her to go. She had breast cancer and I knew it was just a matter of time, but she went from doing fine yesterday, to awful this morning. I immediately called Warwick Animal Hospital and they told me to bring her right in,.Gilly passed on her own a few minutes later. I called to explain and asked if I should bring her in anyway to be sure. When we arrived they took her right back to the vet, although by now it was clear that she was gone. The vet confirmed this and they returned her to me. When I asked what I owed, they said nothing. To me, that shows a real caring for the animals they treat and does not reflect a place whose main concern is monetary. I expected there would be a charge.
If Warwick Animal Hospital was closer, I would definitely switch my other animals to them. I will always be grateful that they treated my ill animals so kindly, and even showed great respect for Gilly who was beyond knowing, carrying her with tender care. It brought comfort to me knowing my animals were treated as if they were their own animals.
To Maddie, Heather & Destiny, and everyone I spoke with today, thank you for treating me and Elvis with such gentle kindness. It is was such a breath of fresh air.
A big big special thanks to destiny for making my Elvis look so handsome as always :)
Had to bring my dog in in an emergency called several places closer to me and no one could take him including his regular vet... We got there and they took us right in tears and anxiety attacks and all and was nothing but extremely caring towards me and my kids and dog the original estimate was to high for me so the vet scales back and got to be affordable to get him through the night without suffering and being in pain. Seriously thinking of making this place the new vet if he makes it even though they are pricier and a little bit of a drive but they will work with you and exhaust all possible help outside their facility. They are not a low income facility nor claim to be but they will help you as much as possible and talk you through every test procedure whatever and treat you like you're family. I received nothing but respect and compassion and THE TRUTH as hard as it was to hear.
Centrally located in the state easy access to highway. Have been going here since the 1980's with a variety of pets. Great emergency service as well as regular checkups. Special services like grooming and boarding available by request. Vets treat your pets just like their own.
Ok they do a good job taking care of my dogs. My pitbull just had knee surgery and is recovering very well. My only complaint is I was told that 80% had to be paid before they'd do the surgery. That's fine, but being told 80% was due up front lead me to believe that the remaining 20% I'd be billed for , but 24 hours later when I picked my dog up I was informed that the remaining 20% was due. Luckily I had the available fund's with a credit card, if not would I not be allowed to take my dog home? If 80% is due up front and the remaining 20% is due the next day then just tell me to pay the full bill up front.
I love Warwick Animal Hospital! Dr. Echt is wonderful with my nervous basset hound. Everyone at the counter is super friendly and the vet techs are very kind and patient with my Peggy. Their prices are fair. Their appointment times are super convenient, especially if you have a hectic schedule. The facility is very clean. The waiting room set up is perfect, especially for my nosey pupper. I've had trouble in the past finding the right vet for my sweet girl, but not anymore! We will certainly be regulars here.
I brought my baby Gucci to the emergency room a few days ago, and everything was perfect from the front desk girls, tech and vet! They were so sweet, concerning, loving towards my Gucci and myself. The best part, they were NOT money hungry at all, like Ocean State, their main concern was my Gucci’s health. I received a phone call 24hrs after the visit with my buds test result! Words can’t explain how grateful I am. Xoxo from Gucci and myself!
I have been having my pets treated at Warwick Animal Hospital since 1979. Dr. Gustafson and his staff go above and beyond to see that your pet gets the upmost care and that you are reassured throughout the entire treatment process. I would never consider taking my pets anywhere else. Number one in my opinion! So give them a try, I feel sure you will be satisfied with not only the veterinarians but the assistants and office staff as well.
I had an emergency with my cat yesterday; he had a seizure seemingly out of nowhere. The office was able to get him in about 2 hours after I called. Everything was very smooth getting him in while people aren't allowed in the office. It took about 30 mins to hear about exam results, and then about an hour to hear bloodwork results (which were all fine!!). Normally that would seem like a lot, but in this situation and while things are so abnormal, to me it was fine. Dr. Karcher was kind and reassuring.
The folks at Warwick Animal Hospital truly care about the happiness and well-being of our pets. Also the precautions they are taking during the current covid pandemic have helped me feel safe about my interactions with their staff.
My 18 month old pyrenees mix tore his CCL. The ENTIRE staff made him comfortable, knowing his past rescue history, attending to his specific needs and kept me updated through calls, texts and even a picture of him relaxing. Being able to text concerns and pictures post op and getting immediate responses was not only mind easing but also proof that they really did care for and about him. Dr. Clark did an amazing job on his knee and every other doctor and tech and support staff there has been amazing and also the reason he has heeled so good. Thank You for taking care of my Bullseye!
With ❤ The Madigan Family
The staff in Warwick were very nice. Especially Susan, but I think the doctor should have sent me to Ocean State Vet Hospital right off the bat. I went to Warwick because she had a subluxation of her patella. She was already being treated for low platlets by my personal veternarian, but the focus in Warwick was on the platlets which was not the issue at hand. I spent about 3 hours at the Warwick Animal Hospital and my dog had blood work that was not relevant to the issue . In addition they did a platelet level and said not sure if it clumped, but it appears she has zero platlets. They also suggested a chest x-ray and tried twice to get an IV in her and they could not. So needless to say $350 later no resolution to her leg. Vet states its best you go to Ocean state since they have specialist and ultrasound etc. I go to Ocean state they take a blood draw and her platlets were way over normal. So the current treatment from my personal Vet was working. Unfortunately they were so busy at Ocean State with emergencies I was there 5 hours. In the meantime after an emergency visit and platlet count another $250 and a prescription for Gabapentin for pain. There was no orthopod there on site. I will have to get a consult with and Orthopedic surgeon so she can have the patella surgery. So $600 later and really no change except for gabapentin, and needing to go back to meet with a surgeon. It was a brutal day.
Dr. Spinella (sorry if i spelt that wrong) and her staff were excellent and thorough with our cat. She even saved us some money on lab tests and worked diligently to answer any questions or concerns that we had. Very professional, I would recommend to any pet owner.
Nice clean facility, with convenient hours in case you have a pet emergency. The only downfall is it's difficult to see a regular doctor here, as it appears they constantly rotate and are only available on certain days of the week. Nonetheless, each doctor we've seen has been very knowledgeable and helpful.
We took our cat Charlie last night and the doctor and team were helpful, knowledgeable and caring while our little fur baby was sick. They were also very reasonable as far as cost. Thank you Warwick Animal Hospital!!
My daughter recently moved to this area. I am in town cat sitting and had a concern over Mr Mac. I called the animal hospital and they were amazing. Helped me over the phone. Assured me that the cat is most likely fine. Told me what to watch for in case I need to call back. When the time comes, this will be our vet.
This place is amazing! I have an indoor cat who got heavily matted. He has never left the house so this was scary for him. They were so caring and kind to him. They genuinely care. I can’t thank them enough for showing my Mr Mojo so much kindness and love.
I will return there for all my future fur baby needs!
Me and Mojo thank you so much.
They were great they helped my cat in an emergency when she had her a** but really bad and I needed to take her somewhere and they took her right away
Have been a client since 2004 they have always taken great care of our cats and dogs and excellent follow up
We love Dr. Hirschmann, who we think treats our cats as well as she would treat her own (and she appears to be an excellent cat mom). We've been taking our animals there for several years and have seen several changeovers in doctors, but Dr. H has been there a long time, so it feels like we have gotten consistently good care from the same doctor. The staff has always been friendly to us and seems competent. The staff was particularly kind to us when one of our cats passed away from kidney failure. Since one of our older cats passed away, she has asked that we bring in our other older cat every 6 months for blood work, and so our oldest kitty is going on 17 now, and she is still here after her younger sister went because we've made the visits to the vet part of her "senior care." Our other two cats are youngsters, and they like Dr. H. (The senior cat is a terror with veterinarians, so we do those as sedated exams.) It's sad that other people have not had good experiences, and I feel for them and their lost pets. I just thought it worthwhile to share our very positive experiences.
I recently had to bring in a very sick cat that ended up being put to sleep. Everyone here is professional, kind and very understanding. It seems to be a nice, clean and spacious facility. They made the process a little easier.
I had to put my little dog down and they were very great, kind and consoling. The Dr. was awesome, loved him. Ty for all you have done, on such a short notice.
Following covid precautions and have to say that they were wonderful with my cat
I could not go in bc of precautions but they were so sweet with her that it settled my anxiety.
Also not expensive like some
Doctors are great" but the staff have no customer service skills they all look miserable and there quit rude. They do not acknowledge you they act like your not even there until there ready from picking there head up. Conversations don't go far with any of them either. I had to go there for quit some time my dog had knee surgery i only went there for doctor clark" he is great. Staff at warwick animal hospital need training on customer service skills. They will lose tons of buisness with staff like that. I know i wouldnt ever go back
We just started taking, our two, dog's here. Aside from, vaccinations, my dog's, have not needed any, medical attention. We have two, male Yorkies,..Jack-16yrs old and Chompers-9 yrs old. I would have given 4 stars but after these past few days, something changed. My eldest, Jack has been seen and treated for excessive, scratching and skin allergies. We go through this every summer since Jack was a pup. He's also highly allergic to flea bites. Even with flea & tick treatment, "which he receives, every month", of a flea even looks at him, BOOM, skin flair up. Our first visit, the Vet ordered a series of blood tests to rule out, any underlying, illnesses. Everything came back good 👍 The vet put Jack on an anti itch medication (very expensive) an antibiotic and she recommended an oral flea & tick preventative because of the his skin flair ups. He scratched so badly, the poor lil guys skin was raw and had scabbed up. Makes sense cuz K9 Advantix is a topical treatment put directly on the skin. With the condition of his skin, I agreed on the oral treatment. His skin had improved and no more scratching. If only it was that easy. Just 5 days after his last dose of his meds, he began to start scratching again and his skin flaired up again. I took him back to the Vet and she refilled his meds. But not before more tests to make sure his kidneys could handle an increase in dose of the medication. All came back clear and ready to roll. Again, he improved. His meds ran out 5 days ago and he's uncomfortable again. Here's my reason for only 3 star rating. I called the hospital to talk to his vet but she couldn't take my call and I was told she would call me back. No call or a refill of his medicine, only the anti-itch medicine to keep the old guy comfortable. Long story short. I called them again and were now 3 days and still no call back. I feel this is irresponsible and unethical, behavior on the Vet's part. No animal should have to be uncomfortable and stressed out cuz he is up all night, scratching. I am highly disappointed and my boys won't be returning to WAH. Jack has an appointment on Monday with a new Vet. I am relieved that he's seeing the new vet so quickly. However, this just adds more stress for Jack. Especially at his age.
So we start the cycle all over again.
I love it here! They were so great with our Bassett Peggy. Affordable and they really care about every animal that walks through the door. 10/10 would recommend.
I've been a client here for years. Excellent care and highly knowledgeable veterinarians. They saved my Pumpkin's life recently when he was diagnosed with sarcoma cancer in one of his hind legs.
supportive and sensitive staff.
knowledgeable vets.
Had my dog Boston groomed by Destinee. She did an excellent job! Have also had Boston treated and care was great!! Love this place.
Jasper and his family say thank you so very much, Dr Karcher, Dr Belair and most wonderful stuff of the Warwick Animal Hospital. We’ve got the same day consult visit and the next day surgery for the painful ear hemetoma. Everybody was professional, kind and caring. No more pain, all is good with this grateful doggie’s world!
They had me spend $327.00 be4 telling me there was nothing they could do unless I was willing to spend a$1000.00 or more to be able to save her.told them I can't pay that kind of money.so then they say I should put her down.n of course more money.
Very professional and nice. Really cared about my dog. While my dog's problem wasn't something they could take care of, the doctor told me exactly where I needed to go.
Have been here twice and both times were emergency visits. Staff is very compassionate and truly love animals. Very good care for your loved ones.
I agree with BritGirl. People don't understand the cost and value of owning pets, especially when they are neglectful and end up needing thousands of dollars in surgery. I have been bringing all of my pets--3 dogs, 2 cats-- to WAH for years now and the staff there is the best. The medicine that is practiced and the way they go about doing things is phenomenal compared to some pleaces that I've been in the past.
Very nice and caring people, we brought our cats there and they were excellent. One of our cats had surgery here and they called me everyday with an update.
Monty loves the doctors and techs here. So professional and thorough.. very caring and loving place!
At first I wasn't really feeling them but my kitten has come around to like them so I guess I can.
After several complaints or worries were addressed they have accommodated all of my needs...good customer service.
The staff here really care about your furry four-legged family members. Great service and excellent medical care.
I have been taking my dogs there since 2009 when I moved to Cranston and I believe they have all received the finest care. I have another dog going for surgery next week and I trust that he will be in the best hands.
