My dog tore off his toenail part way last evening. I called Urgent Pet Care West and they made an appointment for him immediately. From the moment I called and walked in, the staff was so compassionate & helpful. Although it was a minor injury, they treated him with great care & love! I had no worries leaving him there while they did his procedure with sedation. They explained everything and were so patient with my questions. I could tell all of them care and love what they do and it made a big difference. It is expensive, but expected in an emergency! They provided us with plenty of supplies for home including a waterproof bag to put around his cast, as well as a cone. It’s a terrible feeling when your pet is in pain, no matter how small. They are awesome & I highly recommend if you ever have an emergency with your loved pet then to go through them!

Our dear beloved Coco of 16 years passed away over the weekend, and the staff at Urgent Pet Care West were very accommodating and understanding. I want to say, the lady on the phone who answered on Saturday December 17, 2022 at 9:30pm was very nice and sympathized with us. When we arrived, we were greeted and they were very gracious and gentle with us since we were just a hot mess when we arrived due to the death of our dog. They put us in a room and let us grieve for 30 minutes and say our goodbyes, I thought that was very thoughtful of them. I don't remember her name but she was the vet tech working at like 9:30-10pm and she was very kind. The way that they handled how to approach us about the different options of cremating her and remembering her was probably the best way to go about when a family member dies. I know there is no easy way but she was very accommodating to us and we understood that we had to make decisions and payments, but they did not rush us at all and we really appreciate that. After that was finalized, she let us say goodbye one more time and gently took her. We received a card in the mail by this office sending their condolences and even printed out her paw prints for us. They called us to come pick up our dog who was cremated and the memorial box and it was a smooth and easy process. I've never cried so hard, and I want the staff to know we greatly appreciate it and thank you guys so much.

A good review is warranted, but the circumstance is very difficult. Our nine year old Chow Chow started having seizures last New Year's Eve and this was the only place we could go. We called and they squeezed us in immediately. The place was surprisingly busy. The doctor was knowledgeable and explained everything calmly. She allowed me to ask questions and provided text updates throughout the night. We felt good about the care our canine family member received. We got another 11 months with her, but last Sunday night it was just too much for her, so we found ourselves back at Pet Care West -- this time with Dr. Mike. He was also consultative, easy to work with, and eventually we gave him permission to put our girl to sleep. Tough night, but these are good people.

They were great with my 7 month old pug Milo who needed emergency surgery on a Sunday night. They kept up amazing communication while they nursed him back and the little rascal acted as though nothing had happened after 48 hrs! They also checked in on us a few days after surgery. Very grateful for the care my cat Chloe got at the 144th Street location from Dr Scott Yonkers. He wouldn't give up on her and saved her life when it seemed hopeless. All the staff was caring and attentive. Will definitely recommend the clinic

This was the second time we have used Urgent Pet Care for two very different situations. The first time I called them in sheer panic when we came home to our beloved dog passed away and I had no idea what to do. They were so patient, calm, kind, and loving to our family in that situation! This last time that we used them was this past weekend. Our puppy aspirated on his vomit and passed out and quit breathing. We were able to keep him alive by administering CPR on our way. The staff at Urgent Pet Care was immediately helpful on the spot and helped save our puppy! They called me very frequently to help us make the best informed decisions and gave updates on our puppy. They even sent me a photo of him in the middle of the night to assure me that our boy was going to be ok! Now that is going above and beyond! These people are angels on earth! You would never know the amount of stress they are under around the clock by the patience and love they use to help people when they are vulnerable and scared! I cannot truly say enough positive things about this staff. The only drawback is the pricing. Granted this is EMERGENCY care and while I know that is expensive....it is still quite shocking how quickly the bill can add up. With that said, Urgent Pet Care was very kind and caring with the way they used any and all discounts and donations to help save our one year old Frank! Thank you Urgent Pet Care you have a special place in our family's heart for what you do!

This is hands down the very very best E.R. pet clinic. The doctors here are very caring and compassionate. I worked with Pam (the vet assistant) a couple of times with my puppy and she was one of the kindest and most caring individuals, walked me through the whole process and reassured me every step of the way. These doctors give estimates before any work is done and get verification and explain every process before they do anything. If your pet gets injured suddenly, don't hesitate to bring your pets here. In my experience, they provide top notch service and care.

Guinea pigs require an exotic vet. I was happy to find that Urgent Pet Care had an exotic vet available the Sunday over Labor Day to see my guinea pig, Baby Bean. Bean had not been acting like himself so I took him in to get checked out. He had a bladder stone blocking his ability to go to the bathroom. Instead of trying to just sell me a $2,000 surgery the Dr let me know that surgery is really hard on these little ones and they don't handle it well and the stones will most likely occur again. I decided to let Bean go to the Rainbow Bridge. The Dr was so compassionate and asked if she could say a prayer with me as I was absolutely distraught. They brought Bean back into the room and told me to spend as much time with him as I wanted. They let me pay in the room so I didn't have to go back out into the lobby and pay. They had the option for a private cremation. Everyone was very empathetic and compassionate. Then several days later in the mail I received a card from Urgent Pet Care West. It said they were making a donation in memory of Bean AND it included all four of Beans footprints!!! I was so happy to see his little feet impressions, I will truly treasure them. It was extremely thoughtful.

I had hoped never to have to use a facility like this, but at 6 pm on a Saturday, this is where we wound up. I'm not an overly anxious pet owner, and I wasn't sure if our situation was a true "emergency," but I thought it better to find out at 6 pm rather than 2 am. Urgent care isn't cheap, but neither was it so exhorbitant that I was sorry I came. My pup got great care, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and they were kind to us -- never making me feel stupid for not knowing if this truly was or wasn't an emergency. I could see other folks who had come with evident emergencies, some that had sad outcomes, and the staff never seemed to rush anyone and they were very compassionate. We came away with copious amounts of drugs to rectify our situation, and our pup should be on the mend shortly. Thank you, everyone!

Urgent Pet Care West was great with our dog Rusty. My anxiety was beyond bad, I was so worried he had broke or fractured a bone. They treated us with compassion, kindness, and professionalism. The clinic was nice, big, and clean. The price ended up being very good too. I can't imagine some of what they must endure, but, handle themselves and their client's with utmost respect. Thank you.

We had to take our dog in due to not being able to move his head and shaking on one side of his body. The staff was very attentive and communicated all steps thoroughly ahead of time, including showing you the costs upfront for their recommended treatment plan to make sure you are good and in-the-know with the price of their treatments. We got a complete walk through of his results including being shown x-rays and what to expect for the next days/weeks. They also provide their results to your dog's vet without even having to ask. Enzo was in good hands and we appreciate this place is in our neighborhood.

Highly recommend!!!! Everyone was so friendly and truly cared about the well-being of my pup. Dr. Buhr was knowledgeable and listened to my concerns and gave me treatment options and recommendations to choose from so I wasn’t hit with a massive bill. They treated my dog like he was their own. I brought in my 3lb tea cup Yorkie after she started throwing up blood & then her bowels were full of blood. I was so scared for her life.. Dr Mike Skidmore we very carrying & concerned and quickly began working on her. Took her blood, run tests and injected fluid and nausea meds because she was so sick & dehydrated. Found a dx and put her on meds. She is now home resting and the bleeding stopped. He clearly Saved Mitzie’s Life.

They were so caring and straight up with us. Didn't try to sugar coat it to get money. But wanted what was best for our Freddy.. They were so caring to us and him. They were so sympathic to our situation. A lot of stories are happy ending of pets surviving. Unfortunately this is not. We took our (adopted from being a stray) cat who had suddenly taken a turn for the worst..... They helped us so much though it all. So greatful to their staff in such a hard situation

So glad I brought my dog here! My normal vet is closed on Saturdays, and our small dog was not doing well. They got us in promptly to have her looked at, were very professional and reasonably priced for a pet urgent care. I'd recommend this place, and if the need arose again, to bring my dog here again.

My dog had a hanging nail on her front paw was told she would have to be sedated and could take couple of hours . Dr came in and just pulled nail off and there was no aftercare which was great they clipped all her nails and was good to go. Ok then I got the bill and it was $181.00 for just that .Pull nail , clip nails, and check heart rate and temperature. Great service but way to much for such little service.

I was out of town, and unavailable by phone. The location my cat was boarded at took him to this location as soon as they realized he was ill. Once i was able to receive messages, and discovered what was going on, I contacted my sister in Omaha. She located my cat, talked to staff at Urgent Pet Care West, and immediately became his Emergency Contact Person. Staff was very open in sharing information with her and involving her in his treatment and care. What could have been a devastating situation was handled expertly and with utmost care and concern for my cat, as well as for myself and my family. I highly recommend this location for anyone with urgent healthcare needs for their pet(s).

Urgent Pet Care West was prompt in getting my in quickly on a Saturday. I called around 2:30pm and got a scheduled 5pm appointment. The staff was very courteous and friendly. Dr. Mike was outstanding in his approach and very thorough with the exam and diagnosis.

Took our cat Tefnut here twice in one weekend. She wasn't eating and was acting very lethargic. The staff at Urgent Care were so caring, letting us do as much or as little as we wanted to diagnose. The first night we ran blood tests and they gave her some anti-nausea to see if that would get her to eat. When she hadn't eaten by the second night we took her back and they did an xray and got urine and determined it to be a simple UTI. Everyone on staff from the front desk to the vets and techs were so kind and compassionate and worked with us on how to pay. Even though we live across town, we will always come here if needed.

This is an awesome place for veterinary care - especially emergency care - every single staff person was professional, warm and efficient - it was easy to see they cared - Dr. Mike and his veterinary assistant Kristy were so easy to talk with - great at listening and sharing details over and over until I understood them - the office was clean and organized - pet and people friendly - they easily shared records with my family veterinarian- they couldn’t have made a stressful experience more easy to manage. Friday Max threw up a couple times. Saturday he wasn’t himself. We kept an eye on him. Sunday he wasn’t any better. So we went to Urgent Pet Care. The vet on duty checked him, took X-rays, and determined there was a chance that Max had a blockage in his intestinal track. She wasn’t positive and wanted to be sure so she sent the X-rays to an expert. He or she determined that there was a blockage. We returned to Urgent Care and talked over the different courses of action we could take. We decided to have surgery performed to remove the object. Max stayed at Urgent Care and we went home. Just before one o’clock we received a call from Urgent Care. They were not going to do surgery after all. I don’t know how it came about but they determined that the obstruction had made it to the colon. They said we should come pick him up. They felt he would give birth to a Trump shortly after he got home. Indeed he did. He had eaten one of my wife’s socks. Max is fine now. Urgent Care gave us excellent service. I was very impressed. I hope I never have to use their services again but if my dog should again have a serious problem I will use them.

One of my guinea pigs bit my baby in the eye, he was in soo much pain and that eye was not looking good at all. Dr. Buhr was extremely sweet and kind with us she even prayed for him, that is a great christian lady right there if you ask me! Baby Blue got all better and healed up in just 1 week. I’ve never before encountered a veterinary staff who cares so much about their patients and their families. My baby was very sick and they did everything they could to help him, and more. Even though my baby didn’t make it, I am confident that during his last days he was surrounded by so much love. The doctors were very knowledgeable and attentive. My German Shepherd was hit by a car doing 60 mph. Our vet was closed after hours. Called around and all vets in my area were closed. Found Urgent Petcare was open. Drove 30 miles and the wonderful staff helped me get him from my truck into their facility. They did a quick evaluation and told me he had a dislocated shoulder and his heart was misplaced from all the trauma. They connected a iv with pain medication. The vet told us he had to spend the night so they could monitor him The vet prayed with us and told us to go home and if any changes they would call us. Before I left I told my GS he was a good boy. I did not think he would make it.I did not think he would make it he was in pretty bad shape. The next morning we went to pick him up and I could tell instantly what a difference from the night before. This was all from prayer and great care. They recommend a surgeon that could put his shoulder back into place. Today he runs like he did before. Thank You Urgent Petcare for your prayers and great care for my Best friend!!

Our ferret became very sick, they got us in right away on a Sunday. It was obvious everyone cared very much about our pet and wanted to help, but unfortunately we had to put him down. Our dog recently had surgery on her leg at our vet’s office. The covering did not stay where it needed to and the office had closed for the day. I called and made an appointment at UPC. There was a bit of a wait because they were so busy. The assistant was amazing and calmed our very anxious dog quickly. The vet took a look and in 10 minutes Vera was good to go. They even decorated the wrap. We will absolutely go again, as needed.

We learned about Urgent Pet Care when our dog Lief's head started to bleed at about 1030pm one night. We never noticed due to his thick Sheep Dog hair, but he had been cut / punchered, which then became infected. It started to bleed in my hands while I was petting him. We Googled emergency Pet Care, found Urgent Pet Care and they took us right away. They took him in and told us they would call when they were done. We went back at 1220am to find 20% of his head shaved, stitches and a drainage tube inserted! He looked bad, but they did the right thing. The cost was less then half of what I estimated. I asked when we cam e back 10 days later to have the tube & stiches removed, if they could be our regular vet, but was told they only do the emergency work. A great place I would recommend to anyone.

Our dog Sam was bit by another animal on our property. I called on a Sunday morning in a panic and they got me in right away. I live an hour away and they were very helpful and let me know not to panic if I was late for the appointment. He had to be put under to drain the wound and have drainage tubes put in. They were extremely nice and helpful. I was going on almost no sleep and everything was such a blur but they were so nice and knew exactly what to do. Sam still has the drainage tubes in, but he is looking and feeling SO much better!

I have been absolutely blown away with the quality of care and compassion that your team has shown during our recent ordeal with my little terrier mix, Luna. She needed an emergency surgery to remove a foreign object body that she had swallowed. It was an extremely stressful time for me but felt reassured that she was receiving the care that she needed here. My frenchie went into respiratory distress and little did we know he had a collapsed trachea!!! The staff was amazing from the front desk to the back from the second my family walked in. Dr. Buhr went above and beyond. She followed us up on everything to letting us know how dire the situation was. She even allowed us back to see our Chester, not knowing if it would be the last we saw our intubated best friend!! But what got me?? She asked for a prayer. Never have I saw it nor did I except it. But I think we needed it!! It was so touching. And her staff in the back...amazing!! I asked for a message just to actually see him hours after we left. And I got a text picture!! So touching!! If you go there I hope you see dr. Buhr!!!!

Our big dog rolled over our new puppy Sheba. We immediately knew she was hurt. We rushed to and called several supposed Emergency Care places but the wait was going to be more than two hours or no openings at all. Finally we got a hold of Urgent Care West who promptly was able to get her in. She was treated quickly and professionally and she is at home and happy(well besides the giant cast)again. This was our first time to ever visit a Pet Urgent Care. We are so grateful for Urgent Pet Care West's kind, caring and professional staff. We needed emergency treatment for our small dog Apollo as he ripped out a toenail while running outside. We couldn't stop the bleeding on our own and he was losing a lot of blood as well as in a lot of pain. We called ahead and the staff was ready and waiting for us when we arrived. Although Apollo is somewhat of a high-anxiety dog, the Vet Tech and Dr. were so gentle and kind that Apollo easily cooperated with the treatment. Their professionalism also gave us reassurance that everything was going to be okay. We so appreciated the care we received and feel very blessed that they were there when we needed them.

Our mini Goldendoodle, unfortunately, suffers from seizures which normally last approximately 3-5 minutes. This morning was different as Harry could not pull out of the seizure and we rushed him to Pet Urgent Care. All of the staff were truly amazing, with their kindness and words of comfort. After a Valium shot didn’t break the seizure cycle Harry needed to be placed under anesthesia for 30 minutes in hopes to break it, which worked. We have been updated with kind and informative texts and calls from the Dr. I cannot thank all whom work at Urgent Care enough for their diligent work to help our precious little ones. UPC staff and Veterinarian were very helpful and kind to us when our Angus had to be seen after hours for diarrhea and lack of appetite. The treatment plan recommended had multiple tests, which we chose not to do. At our request, the vet agreed to not perform these and just send him home with Metronidazole. He perked up right away and by Sunday his stools were normal. Thank you again.

Our smokey (kitty) had problems with urinating. But it was more serious then we thought. And it was way too expensive and if he survived it was really exspensive in the long run. So we had to put him down. Staff was great! But the vet was not comforting and not the best care for the cats owner. And not the best bed side manner and honestly could of been better.

Dr. Emily Buhr assured us that we were making the right decision, and was very compassionate during one of the most difficult moments of my life. The price was very reasonable considering the hours and services they offer. I am so thankful we had the option of a place like Urgent Pet Care West. Because of them, our sweet boy didn’t have to suffer another day waiting on normal business hours.

My dog woke up on a Saturday morning with a horrible ear infection, he had scratched it throughout the night and it was bleeding, swollen and red. He wouldn't stop shaking his head, it was agonizing to watch. Our regular vet couldn't get us in until Monday and I couldn't let him suffer until then. I called to make an appointment and they got me right in. The staff was super friendly, I didn't wait in the waiting room, they got me right to a room and I didn't wait long to be seen. The assistant was extremely nice, paid lots of attention to my pup, the doctor was very kind, very knowledgeable and knew how to treat right away. They kept him for a few hours and got the ear all taken care of. The next day the ear was 95% better, head shaking had stopped, and by the following day he was back to 100%. SOOO glad I didn't wait until Monday to take him to my regular vet! Would absolutely recommend Urgent Pet Care West to anyone with a pet needing immediate care - don't let your pet suffer until they can be seen by their regular vet - take them here and they will absolutely be taken care of!

Our regular vet couldn't get us in for over a week and our 14 year old cat, Pumpkin was not doing well at all. It turned out to be kidney failure and the staff here was thorough, honest and empathetic. We didn't think he'd make it but Urgent Pet Care pulled him through! We got regular texts between daily calls with updated blood work. Special kudos to Dr. Kelleher. My bunny was not eating, drinking, or playing like normal and all of the stuff I tried at home didn't work. I took him in first thing this morning and everyone was so kind and understanding, which really eased my anxiety because I was an absolute mess walking in. They got him seen right away and Dr. Emily Buhr was beyond comforting during one of the hardest moments I had experienced as a bunny parent. The staff loved him, even when he was being a grump, and I knew he was in the best hands possible. They got him treated for GI Stasis and gave me very thorough instructions on how to care for him at home. The bill was very reasonable for a small-animal emergent visit - I was expecting it to be much higher for the amount of detail they put into caring for him. We got home about an hour ago and he is already acting much more like himself, munching on some lettuce and playing with his stacking cups. It is night and day compared to how he was when I took him in. I will never be able to express how much I appreciate everyone at UPC West.

We have a 17 year old cat, Emily, who was attacked by our younger male cat and she developed an infection at the site. We took her to a local vet in Council Bluffs where she was given the wrong treatment and continued to decline. We transported her to Urgent Pet Care where Dr. Starks who really knows her profession saved our old girls life. She had lost 2 pounds in a few days. The team put her on intravenous fluids overnight and provided antibiotics and a transdermal cream to make her eat. She was almost back to normal in 48 hours. The team sent texts multiple times to see how she was so the after care was extraordinary as well. Trust me. Urgent Pet Care will be taking care of both our cats in the future. They are the best. Our elderly dog started going downhill quickly over the course of a couple days, and we made the decision to bring her to urgent care, worried she wouldn't make it through the night. I was beyond impressed with the care she received. Dr. Vinson explained how concerned she was, and what tests she wanted to perform. She kept me updated throughout the night with our dog's lab results and possible diagnoses. She was very honest, but sympathetic. We ended up transferring our dog to their sister clinic in Papillion so she could be observed 24/7, and got equally excellent care there. The cost, though high, was expected for all the tests done, and they give you the estimate upfront. They offer 2 kinds of payment plans, which was a relief. Our dog was unfortunately beyond saving, but if the need ever arises, I will absolutely go to Urgent Care again.

She got excellent care, they kept me informed every few hours, sometimes sooner if they had lab work or vet needed to speak to us. We brought in our 16 year old cat because he was straining to urinate. They were very thorough and efficient! He ending up being very constipated which was blocking his bladder/urethra. So, he needed to go under anesthesia for a procedure. We were worried about the anesthesia considering his age, but he had a lot of energy after waking up and we could tell that he felt a lot better! They handled our senior cat very well and even reached out a few days later to see how he was doing! Was very impressed and would definitely recommend.

Our golden retriever was not feeling well over the last 24 hours, so we took him in to Urgent Care to make sure he was okay. The whole staff was very communicative and kind with their recommendations and understood things being costly as well. They helped us out with a payment plan and helped get the cost down as low as possible while doing an amazing job of taking care of our poor pup. Shortly after some x-rays they recommended surgery to remove some foreign objects in his intestine which was very concerning to me. Again, Dr. Buhr was extremely kind and understanding, helped me relax, came up with a payment plan so he could get the care he needed. Before she hung up, she offered to say a prayer for our dog over the phone and that brought me to tears knowing he was in the best care possible. The surgery went very well and she called to update us, said another prayer and made me feel 100% better after the stressful day and night we had. We couldn’t recommend them enough and if you’re ever unsure of what to do, please trust these professionals and know your animal is in amazing hands!

The vet I typically take my animals to is closed on Sunday. Last week my kitten injured his arm and was in really bad shape. I didn't feel comfortable waiting 24 hours until our normal vet office was open so we went to Urgent Pet Care West. When I called they were able to get us scheduled within 2 hours and when we arrived they took my kitten in within 3-5 minutes. The staff was kind and knowledgable. A nurse suggested an x-ray that would have been about $200, but I waited until I talked to the doctor to decide. We found another treatment option that was affordable. My kitten was up and running around like normal the next day!

I never felt pressured to have her examined first or anything like that. When I arrived they came to my vehicle and explained they would take my sweet Josey girl in to get the IV in then call me to come in. Once inside they brought my baby to me and let me take all the time I needed. The vet came in when I was ready and explained how it would all work and then asked if she could say a prayer for my Josey, which was so kind of her. I was able to comfort her as she left this earth then the vet gave me a hug and let me know they would take good care of my sweet girl. I can’t thank you all enough for making this process as smooth as it could be. My heart is aching but I know Josey was comforted in her last moments. Again thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My dog Gunner got hit by a car. My local vet didn't have the tools for emergency situations so we loaded him up and drove the 30 min to omaha. I called on the way in and they were prepared to take him as soon as I pulled up. The were able to quickly evaluate his issues and offer me options on the best course of care. Our little dogs' eye had popped out of the socket and of course the vets office had just closed for the night. We were referred to the Urgent Pet Care West. We called the clinic to let them know we were on our way. The receptionist was kind and caring about our situation. She explained the procedure in terms we could easily understand as well as the complications that can occur. After the surgery, she explained all the aftercare. She was easy to understand and the instructions were also given in a written form taking away the anxiety we had trying to remember everything. We received several follow up calls to see how Bandit was doing. This was greatly appreciated. The care received was beyond anything we ever expected. Dr. Vinson was so helpful and very thorough. We didn't feel rushed at all when speaking with her, which was so nice, especially with how busy the facility was. We did have a long wait time, but I attribute this to Dr. Vinson's thoroughness plus how busy they were, so it didn't bother me at all. Although, I do wish someone could have popped out to update us on how our pup was, because he had been in the back for x-rays and blood tests for over 2 hours, when we were told it would take about an hour. An little update would have eased my mind. :) Also, It would have been nice to have the water cooler working while we were waiting (we dashed out of the house quick without even thinking about grabbing water or a snack) but that is so minor and not really important. Overall we had a great experience - the facility was very clean and the staff was friendly. I also appreciated that they provide an estimate of costs before proceeding with treatment, so you have a good idea of how much you will be paying, so you are not shocked at the end. I hope we don't ever need emergency vet care again, but if we do, this is the place we will go. Thank you!

Our experience was great. Our 2-year old rescue cat, Yaffa, began throwing up for no apparent reason and our regular vet couldn't see her until the next day, so we went to Urgent Pet Care West. This is the second time that we have used Urgent Pet Care. The first time was their other location and it was a great experience. This was no different at their West location. I came in with one of my labs who had once again ran off on our acreage and got a cut on her leg to the bone. They were thorough and kind to me and my girl. They were incredibly busy that night. Literally a line of people coming in with emergency's. I was so impressed with how the staff handled each and every person calmly and professionally. Each person had a bad emergency and I was impressed on how quickly they could could everyone seen and start a treatment. A few years ago, we took my dog here after an incident at home. We were looking for a clinic that was open at 7 pm on a Sunday, and found this one. On our way to urgent care, my dog stopped breathing for a few seconds. When we got there, and told them that we didn’t think she was going to make it, they took her back and gave her a blanket to lay on and let us put her to rest with her favorite pillow. When we left, they cremated her for us and spread her ashes at a park for us because we didn’t have enough money. A few days later, they sent us a condolences card with signatures from the workers. They were very kind and understanding.

Just a few weeks ago our border collie got very sick, within a day she went from fine to not walking. Our vet of 8 years was closing in an hour and refused to see her. I feed 5 feral outside cats and 1 feral cat had a kitten. I noticed the kitten had a big sore on its neck area that had pus. Called our regular vet and also went to another vet and everyone was booked up so suggested I give Urgent Pet Care West a call. It is difficult to treat a feral kitten but they had no problems. Sedated her and cleaned up the sore plus some minor bite marks in her neck. Gave her an anti biotic shot so we could work into socializing her. The cost is a little more but I really feel they went the extra mile to treat her, were very positive, answered all my questions, suggested things she should need at my vets and was just an exceptional caring experience. Plus I could get it done the same day as I noticed the issue. A big thank you from me and Itty Bitty.

I was really worried about her so I wanted to make sure nothing was in her throat. I called to make an appointment and they were very professional. Several months ago I brought my 4 month old dog into the clinic because he was sick. They did all the tests they could but I was disappointed that they don't have a trained radiologist there to read the x-rays. The vet tech did the best they could but didn't seem very confident with reading the x-ray. It cost a lot of $$ to have that done- so I would have appreciated a more confident reading. They were wonderful with my pet and compassionate though I wish I could have been back there when doing some of the testing as I know he was scared. Unfortunately we lost him a couple weeks later.

When I woke up on a Saturday to my bunny not feeling well I called all around to find a vet that could get her in that day to see her. Most vets were only open until 12 or booked until Tuesday. When I finally got to calling Urgent Care they were able to get me in at 12 so that gave us 2 hours to hold on until we could get in. By 11 my sweet Flopsie had passed away before getting the chance to find out what was wrong. I called them back crying to let them know we would not need to come in anymore and the lady on the phone was so sweet and sympathetic about the situation. Later that week I received a card from all of the staff with their names signed all for my loss of Flopsie. It was the sweetest thing and so unexpected especially since we have never been to this vet clinic before and never even got to go to our appointment. We had a dire poisoning emergency with our cat. I was able to walk in on a Sunday morning and immediately received compassion and care, while they were also very honest about the prognosis. Prepared for the worst, we elected to at least do a blood test and see how bad things were. Fortunately, for our case, it appeared worth at least trying. He stayed overnight while we received regular text updates. The next morning I was able to pick him up, along with much-needed information and medication. The vets, technicians, and support staff are incredible and we wouldn't be thankful enough that they were here when we needed them.

Urgent Care West was extremely helpful when we lost our beloved 11-year old dog in her sleep on a recent weekend (6/3/18). We woke up on Sunday morning to find she had passed sometime during the night. Urgent Care West was one of the few places open early on a Sunday morning who could take her and deal with her properly. Overall, a good experience for urgent care. Some of the tech staff didn't seem the most confident in the information they were giving me and it seemed there were some internal communication issues. The news from the vet was shocking and overwhelming and the vet was very sympathetic in that regard. My pup received what he needed to last him until Tuesday when the orthopedic surgeon could operate.

They gave us very good treatment, advised that it was not life threatening, and told me what to watch for til I can get him into his normal vet. They could have easily taken advantage of the situation but instead have honest feedback and even put together a quote for services in case we needed to get him in sooner than Monday. The level of care here is outstanding, especially for 1030 on a Saturday night when everyone else is closed. We took our dog to her primary vet a few times before bringing her here and they would tell us nothing was wrong gave us medication she couldn’t keep down and sent us out the door! I brought her here last night and they gave me answers within a couple hours got her to drink and eat. Picked her up this morning already is acting a little better! Thank you so much!

We brought our dog in to be euthanized on an emergency basis as she had been struggling with cancer and collapsed in the evening. Everyone on the staff was so kind during this difficult time. The veterinarian that did the procedure asked if she could pray with me while our dog was passing. That was amazing, and will stay with me for a long time. The staff was also very helpful with cremation arrangements.

I wasn't impressed with the two hour wait and we saw the tech and vet for maybe 2-3min while we waited to find out what was going on. The receptionist was very blah which that wasn't a selling point either. However, they took very good care of my cat since I had to leave him there for an emergency visit. They did what they could with what they could, and now my kitty is at home healing. I am thankful that they were open though and I was able to get my cat seen rather than having to wait until Monday. In an emergency, if you can't get ahold of your primary care vet these guys will get the job done. For that I'm extremely thankful.

This would have been higher if not for the receptionist last Thursday evening, I believe called Octava or something. She was horribly rude when I called to check on my very ill puppy. The vet had said I could call and check on her since he understood that I was very worried as my 7 week old puppy had fallen gravely ill very quickly and after I had left for vacation. I was managing this scary process from 500 miles away and this receptionist did just the opposite from comforting me, but rather, made me feel as though my puppy was meaningless to them and I was just being inconvenient and shouldn't bother her. I question and organization who doesn't provide the training and expectations that their staff so the know to not provide this level of rudeness to customers who are already scared and worried about their beloved pets. Thankfully nearly $700 later and two more days at our regular vet for another $500, our little one is back home and back to herself. But would I ever go back there? Doubtful. Not until or unless they be sure all staff actually care for their customers and pets. The rest of the staff and all vets we have dealt with there have been great. Sad that one rude person can ruin a whole business.

With all vet offices closed, I contacted Urgent Pet Care West and was told I could bring her there. They then kindly asked if I would like her ashes returned to me. I did. I went through their private cremation service and they let me spend as long as I wanted with her to say my goodbyes. They called within an hour of opening on the day they said she would be back and said I could pick her up anytime during business hours when I was ready. Thank you to these wonderful compassionate people for caring for my "Little Old Lady".

Mesmerizing Reflections

I have used them for close to three years now. When I first moved up here in November of 2016, I didn't have a vet, and Stormy had a medical emergency. I decided it wasn't worth the wait to get a normal vet on Monday. I also didn't know who to take her to. I went to Urgent Care and Dr. Buhr saw her. She figured out what was wrong with Stormy and kept her overnight for observation and stabilization. She recommended two different vets for her issue for follow up. I'm very happy with the recommendation of the Pet Clinic, as they have been nothing but wonderful to me! Fast forward a year later, Stormy ends up back at urgent care. Dr. Yonker was seeing her and he was very direct with me, which I needed. Unfortunately, he was so busy, he couldn't finish up with me and give me the results. However, Dr. Buhr was working and said she'd take over because she's familiar with Stormy. Once again, they told me exactly what was wrong and I told them to treat her. Fast forward another year...Stormy is back to the vet! I was panicked and seriously worried I was going to have to put her to sleep. The staff was very caring and understanding. They made sure I was comfortable and I was relieved when they told me it was her normal constipation. They took care of her again and sent her home with me for follow up with my normal vet. Since then, Stormy has had to go in for treatment, but the staff is always wonderful. Dr. Vinson has also seen Stormy. She was very concerned about her and knew money was an issue. She asked for my budget and then made a plan up to fit my budget. I was very happy that she didn't try to force other tests on me, as she knew I couldn't afford them, and we both had the idea Stormy was constipated again, which was the case. I'm so pleased with this place. I will always use them for urgent care needs. Speaking of which, Stormy will probably be coming in today again for the same issue. I know Stormy's in good paws and they will take care of her and send me to my normal vet for follow up. I can't recommend them enough! Thanks for being so wonderful to me and Stormy. She may not show it, but she does appreciate it :)

My cat was extremely ill when I brought him in. Obviously bringing him in to an Urgent Care with serious issues cost was going to be a little on the high end. The staff did everything they could to accommodate what I could afford and do what was only absolutely necessary considering the circumstances. I was given choices when it came to medications based on prices and was able to choose what I felt my pet needed. This was an extremely difficult time for me as my pet was so sick and the cost of having such a sick animal is not cheap. I couldn't have asked for a better experience considering the circumstances. The vet indicated that she had been bitten by my other cat and the pad of her foot was punctured and infected. The vet understood her complicated medical issues due to her advanced age and was very knowledgeable about the treatment options and risks with each. I was impressed with the care and attention my cat was given and she healed quickly after treatment.

I came here to leave a review highly recommending Urgent Pet Care and am honestly confused at the negative reviews I saw. I have three dogs and they all got into a bad fight on a Friday night and were all severely injured. We brought them in at midnight and had to leave them overnight, where the doctor spent 8 hours straight working on my dogs. When we came back in the morning to get them the doctor seemed exhausted but was still so kind to my dogs and my boyfriend and me, and he took lots of time to be thorough with the care instructions and answering all of our questions. Since then I have had to come back with the dog who got hurt the worst a few times for various complications, and they always keep my bill to a minimum if there's any charge at all, and call almost daily to check on the dogs and see how they all are doing. I can't tell you how much stress they have taken off of me by knowing I can call with any questions I have or just bring them in quickly if I'm nervous about a swollen spot or something. The receptionist and assistants are always very kind and you can tell everyone there loves their job. The whole facility is very clean and there's lots of comfy seating in the waiting room, as well as a corner for kids to play in which has been great with my little boy. All in all we really can't recommend them enough and have been grateful for their help.

On Easter evening two years our 6 year old yellow lab developed bloat, which we didn't know at the time, but we knew something was wrong. We took him in at 10 pm to a fully packed ER which stated that they take cases as they come in. They took one look at our dog and said, "Bring him back to get an X-ray (and they confirmed the bloat)" The vet told me that they didn't know if they would be able to save him or not going into the immediate surgery. It was quite a long time sitting with my three grown sons. The entire waiting room was grappling with my grief, but the doctor emerged saying the stomach had turned only 1/4 and they were able to check to see if all organs were viable, which they were. They stapled him up and kept him overnight but indicated that he would have to be transferred the next morning to our vet's office. He spent 5 days in the hospital afterwards, but because of the excellent treatment in the ER, he survived and he is absolutely thriving as an 8 year old today. The doctors were extremely professional and compassionate and explained everything in laymen's terms. We were very thankful! Definitely a 5 star recommendation to the team!

I cannot say enough great things about the Urgent Pet Care West team! I recently had to take my young kitty there on a Sunday because he was showing signs of a possible urinary tract issue, which can be critical for male cats. It was the first time I saw these symptoms in him and the signs were subtle enough that I thought I might be overreacting, but I didn't want to take a chance with my baby. I very much appreciated the way Dr. Buhr listened carefully and with such kind consideration to my concerns, and then developed an excellent diagnostic and treatment plan for him. He did have a urinary infection and ended up needing to spend the night in the hospital so he could continue to be monitored and treated. Thanks to the great care he was given, his infection was well under control by mid-morning the following day, and he was back to his normal playful self. Thank you thank you thank you Dr. Buhr and Team! While no one ever wants to need urgent pet care, it is VERY reassuring to know that if the need arises, our beloved fur babies will be in such skilled, kind hands!!!

I opted to schedule the surgery with another vet 2 days later so they offered to give him fluids till Monday, I dont know what happened but the next day he became paralyzed. Went in with my dog who was having trouble moving and thought it was an issue with his leg. I was probably being hasty in bringing him in but I only waited 5 or so minutes for another pet that was getting stitches. Dr. Galles and the nurse on duty were extremely quick/helpful in noticing that his back was the issue and gave him painkillers and muscle relaxers. My dog is already feeling better and moving around/eating normally (for the most part.) Bill wasn't outrageous. $85 for the visit + the cost of medications. Again thanks for the help. -Kyle H.

I wish you could have been there to understand my drastic night with my sick dog. We started at VCA at 3am, had a horrible experience with no one helping my dog and I for 3 hours, and it got so bad that I had had enough, picked my dog up because he could not walk, and I drove him straight to Urgent Care and told VCA to bill me if they felt morally right about it. The only reason I did not take him to Urgent Care first is because they didnt open until 7am. I was a mess upon arrival, panicking over my dog, and Dr. Kelliher and staff were angels. Unfortunately, it was my babys time to go to heaven, but I cannot stress enough how great this team is. She was so warm and compassionate, told me the truth without being concerned about money, and I just felt a sense of assurance and trust immediately. Dr. Buhr was absolutely amazing! Our dog was on her deathbed with an undiagnosed blockage that two other vets had missed for 11 days. Wonder place to take your pet in an emergency. Our cavalier had congestive heart failure and was in bad shape when we arrived. If not for veterinarian, Dr. Emily Buhr, I don't believe my dog, Nike, would have had a fighting chance! She was amazingly compassionate, and very detailed in her communications with us and the next ICU facility where we had to transport him. She did surgery in the wee hours, and this was the beginning of his recovery though he had a long road ahead of him. I thank God EVERY DAY for her efforts on Nike's behalf! I didn't get to see her when Nike was discharged from this facility, but I do hope and pray she knows how much we appreciate her. Nike has recovered, and in less than a month since his surgery you would never know his belly was entirely opened up. Even his scar is minimal! God bless you, Dr. Buhr!! She did ALL the right things that brought him to a full recovery.

We brought our cat in for an after-hours visit last night ~ everyone there was so helpful & caring ~ the person who I spoke to on the phone to make the appt, the receptionists, the vet-tech, and Robyn, the vet who took care of our cat. It was an extremely stressful time for us & unfortunately not a good prognosis for our pet. But I can’t thank these people enough for how they made us feel. This was the first time we went to Urgent Pet Care ~ after our experience I would recommend them and I would definitely call them again.

Dr. Buhr and the entire staff were friendly, considerate, patient, caring, and comforting. I brought my grandcat, so every decision and payment was made by his momma via phone. They provided excellent care for Illidan, and the veterinarian's assistant made certain that I understood his home care before he left us to check out. I was very pleased with the entire experience. Our cat took a tumble off the stairs, and we were very worried as he was bleeding from his eye and ear. As soon as we got there they took him straight back and we went into a room. They kept us updated and were calm and good at explaining everything. He received great care and is doing well (fractured orbital). They truly care about animals and do their best in any situation as we saw some good and bad while waiting. The care and empathy towards family and kindness is something that can be hard to come by these days. The only recommendation is that instead of doing a care credit, it is being able to split payments without credit. We don't like to mess with our credit much, so we had to pay it all up front, which sucked as it was a 625 bill we didn't expect.
