They have a very good system of how they bring you in without an appointment to get you seen immediately. They refer you if it is a higher need that involves an emergency hospital vet. They have always taken the best care of all of my animals for many, many years! Ignore Thanos, he thinks guidelines do not apply to him and is a rule breaker. In turn the staff all show him allot of patience...

This place is great. Our little dog got sick and we took him here, then shortly afterwards our big dog caught it. They both were seen here and have fully recovered. The animal doctors are very nice. This place is always busy and a first come first serve, so expect a little wait to have your pet seen.

They have taken care of my doggies for 25 yrs or more... will always be my go to place...Lil on has had her teeth pulled there and she had some nerve damage in her back and have given the right medsnfor all the testing she had done. Thank you ALL!!!!

Dr. Jones ❤️ was her loving supportive self 💕 as always even when I'm there to have one of my fur babies put to rest she's there with the hug she's there with understanding she's there with warmth she's there for support to let me know that what I'm doing I'm doing for my baby who had no quality of life I just love her she has been our Vet for My Family about if not over 30 years ❤️

I can only take my dog on Saturdays and I normally take him for a nail trim. We had to wait a good 1 to 1.5 hrs for his nail trim but it is ALWAYS worth the wait. The lady vet did his nails this last time and they look SOOOO good! She also made sure that was all I needed before we were done and I could feel her love for my doggie. All the staff are wonderful!

The place was clean, very organized 👌 the only thing I have to say is we had to wait about 3 hrs or so.if you're rushing I won't make the appointment because of the covid we had to wait about 3 hrs or so but hey I get it so no complaints over here 😉anything for our safety! But they are amazing we take our cane corso to keep up with his shots and keep up with his health the ladies are sweet and patient with your precious babies 💙 I definitely recommend this place!!! ...oh also the prices are great 👍 👌

This team is amazing!!!! They truly love animals. They are patient and very informative. They saved my dog. The time he had an accident with a bigger dog and he fractured his nose and then again when he contracted parvo all of this happening within in a 2 month span. They were awesome. I just wish they had a bit more technology i.e. in house ultra sound...etc. to fully diagnose issues. They are straightforward and do not price gouge their customer's. This is a great place for routine care, shots, and Medicine refills. They are very good at speaking to your level of knowledge and helping you learn about husbandry on new pets you may not be as familiar with. I have dogs and am very knowledgeable on veterinary care of dogs and cats, but we got a pair of Budgies aka Parakeets and they are very helpful in teaching about diet and training.

This has been my Vet Clinic for years...and when I had to put my dog to sleep, they didn't rush things, explained every detail, and gave me as much time as I needed with him. What an amazing veterinarian. They took great care of my Clay who had a bad dental infection. My cat is loving the cleaning and his breath smells pleasant. After 2 days he's running around all happy. I'll consistently be standing awkwardly in front of the counter for what feels like too long before they acknowledge me and I usually have to call twice to get someone on the line. they are worth the wait, though

Our 10-year-old dog became very ill last week. He stopped eating, became very very lethargic, and was drinking water to excess to the point of vomiting. We were distraught and beside ourselves not knowing what was wrong. I called the clinic on Thursday morning, and during that call it was extremely hard to not become emotional. The woman that I spoke with was extremely kind, compassionate, and understanding. A few hours later, my two adult children and I brought our sick dog to the clinic. The veterinarian who saw him was very kind to us from the moment she walked in the room. She did blood work and came back to tell us devastating news. Our beloved boy was in diabetic ketoacidosis. His blood sugar was over 500, which explained his sudden sickness, and how severe that sickness was. Until that very moment, we literally had no idea he even had diabetes. She explained to us what our options were. After weighing those options, we made the heart-wrenching decision to end his suffering. My children and I became overwhelmed with emotion. The veterinarian explained to us what would be done, and she allowed us all the time that we needed with him before the procedure. We were also able to be with him until he fell asleep from the sedative. It was comforting to know that the last thing he knew was us being there with him and loving on him, without us having to actually be there when he took his last breath, which is something that none of us would have been able to handle. We had also made the decision that we wanted to bring him home and bury him under the tree that he loved so much. The staff was so kind to wrap him in blankets, as he was too large for any boxes that they had. They also had me back up to their back door, so that I could open my trunk and the staff brought him out and gently placed him in there so that we would not have to do so. I am extremely grateful for the kindness, compassion, and professionalism shown by the vet and staff at this clinic. We were reassured many times that we made the right decision for our beloved fur baby. We have been to this clinic many times before for less serious issues. Each and every time we have had great experiences. They are also the most affordable vet that I have found. I highly recommend them to anyone for the care of their furry family members.

I’ve had great experiences and I just started going here, twice so far. Very nice vets that work with you and very understanding. I have 2 larger dogs, both get a little vicious with strangers and they worked with me to get done what needed. ALSO it’s reasonable and affordable pricing!

This place has always been great. Not one bad visit. Not fancy but, that's what keeps the prices fair. The dr/owner is getting older and has removed a few procedures from his repertoire. So, call before to see what's available if pet needs surgery. A heads up, this pace is always busy!

I was so grateful to find a clinic able able help my girls on a moments notice today! I adopted a baby on Saturday and she had kennel cough from the shelter. The clinic being able to see us today so we could get meds started for everyone meant the world to me. Their service was also A+, the Doctor and techs all had wonderful bedside manner and seem to really care about your animals. I would definitely recommend this clinic for your fur babies.

Great appt for my dog. I liked how clearly everything was explained. Learned a lot about treating allergies that I had not been told by another vet. They gave me 2 pages of helpful hints and 3 medicines. Out the door for less than $110. That never happens at “that other vet”. Also since March 2020 I have not been able to go into the appt with my dog. I didn’t like that as I didn’t have time to talk to the vet.

Got dachshunds? This is the vet for them. Not only do they service a large pet demographic. They really love dachshunds the most. They know my family by name. Which makes the visits feel like family reunions. Unlike some vet offices pushing you through like cattle. If you are looking for a vet that won't take you to the bank. Although the wait time can sometimes be long my dog has always gotten incredible care there and the prices are easier to fit in my budget. The last time my dog was incredibly sick and I was in every few days they stopped charging me for each visit and only charged me for the meds he needed. The vets there are good and caring people.

The clinic is clean, and I find the staff to be friendly and helpful. You don't need an appointment. I've taken my pets there for everything. Including having to euthanize 1 of my best friends and a loyal companions. The staff is very understanding. I have taken my pets there for literally decades. And I'll keep taking them there. Prices are reasonable, the only draw back and it's waiting to see the them if it's a really busy day.

This place is great, friendly and very good with my Parakeets! It’s extremely hard to find a place to take your birds! This is it! I have 2 parakeets and one has a beak that needs trimmed once a month, so glad I found them! My male was acting sick, took him in for a check up and now he is fine! No appointment necessary, but there are no long waits! I highly recommend them!

Very caring and very affordable! Went because my dogs were ruff housing and one fell through the sliding glass door and got cut. They got her fixed up and gave medications. I thought it was going to cost me a few hundred dollars but was pleasantly surprised when they told me $155. Will definitely be taking my dogs there from now on for routine care.

The vets are always professional and knowledgeable. Their prices are very good, where we can take our loved pets! UPDATE: I can't thank Southside Dog, Bird place enough. The Vets, the staff enough!! I have a large dog that had a large tumor on his side. When I brought him in for surgery that morning, I was scared. Krista the vet assistant calmly and with great care told me different things it could be. She was very caring and very knowledgeable, to where I could understand. I left with a sadness. She called me around 2:00 to let me know the surgery was the best case scenario, that could have happened (I could feel the giddiness and excitement in her voice, she really cared and proud of what they found). She said it was not cancer, a fatty tumor, the size of a grapefruit! I was crying with joy and kept saying, thank you, thank you...she was excited with me and said, stop, you are going to make me cry. When I went to pick up Lionel, she wasn't there, but two other girls were. They too, were so nice and informative and explained my homecare. As I was leaving, I said you all, made my Christmas the best. They both had genuine smiles on their faces and wished me a Merry Christmas. With this year, being slim on the wallet...I thank God, we have a place that is affordable, beyond affordable to where we can take our fur babies to get the necessary care. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart, for creating a place that can help us to care for our beloved pets. God Bless you all!!

We had to put to sleep our precious pepper to sleep Nov 8 2018. My fiance has had him 16yrs. Kudos to the staff here they were so friendly, compassionate and treated pepper as their own. It was so hard for us and they were wonderful! Gave us time to spend with him. I would recommend this clinic to everyone and the prices are more than fair. I would give them more stars if I could! Dr. Roger Harlin and his staff are very helpful and courteous. I never felt like a number or that I was taking up their time. Very knowledgeable especially in avian veterinary services. I brought a very sick chicken in and they got me going in the right direction. Absolutely fair on their pricing and convenience of appointment. This will be our go to vet from now on!

Flawed and Beautiful

This is a walk in clinic that is extremely low cost compared to other vets. The doctors that work here, for the most part, are there because they want all animals to have access to quality care. They love it and it shows. The only problem is that they are understaffed and underfunded so there is usually a long wait time. Looking for a worthy place to make donations? This place needs it and are well worth it.

Great prices and even better vet and staff! I took my miniature schnauzer here for 15 years. He was very anxious and a little temperamental, but they never made me feel unwelcome or my dog unloved. The clinic is walk in only besides surgery, so you might wait a minute. Worth the wait though. Each vet is polite and well informed and they truly care about your pet. My schnauzer got cancer and had some masses removed which gave him another two happy years. And when the cancer came back and I had to put him down they were ever so kind and made this process very easy on both of us. If I get a new dog I will definitely come back! Thank you Southside Vet!

One of the best animal clinics around. They take walk-ins which is super awesome. I took my cat in with breathing issues. Dr. Dixon was very helpful and upfront with all procedures and pricing. No surprises. They fixed my little dude right up. I will use them again if I have further animal issues.

I have had a great experience at this vet in the past! When I called to schedule an appt, the lady offered me an appt. While asking my husband if he was off this day, her comment was “Are you wanting to schedule or not?” It was seriously 15 seconds max in checking. She was also kinda short. Maybe she was busy and had other people waiting- I know how it works as I am a medical provider. I would just maybe work a little on Customer Service. I will consider calling back another time to schedule.

Had my parrots wings and nails cut here. Very nice peoples and knowledgeable. They explained the blood feathers and when it’s safe to clip them without drawing blood. Paid 25$ for nails and wings I was happy to pay that. My parrot hates his nails being done. Fast trim and a walk in! . I did not get to go in the back with him but i understand it puts less stress on my parrot seeing me there watching and or feeling my anxiety. It was his first time so of course I was nervous. But he came out happy to be with me again and having the trim over with.

They are very friendly and professional. For a walk in visit, the wait time is very short compared to other vets. Extremely affordable and the best vets that cares! Only downside is that the place looks dirty and possible fleas from sick dogs so be careful. But I take all my dogs there and they always come out healthy again!

This is the best VET clinic by far here in Oklahoma! Ive been bringing my animals here for over 15 years and they have continued to care for and about all animals. I recommend them to everyone I know. They are priced fairly and you can tell they love their job even though it gets very hectic at times. This place is awesome! The girls at front were very nice! Took my puppy there today for the first time and saw "Dr. R!" She was so sweet and really took her time answering all my questions and explaining things thoroughly. I never felt rushed or confused, which is hard to find in my experience. Not to mention this place is super cheap! Half the cost for vaccinations as my usual clinic. There is a reason why there are mostly 5 star reviews -- this place deserves it! I think the comment below from Angie is ridiculous considering how inexpensive this place is compared to most vets. Some people will never be satisfied lol. I will def. be back!! Thanks again!!

I've been taking my animals here for years. They give you prices upfront, are helpful, and their service costs are fair. There is a younger male Veterinarian who I find difficult to get along with. He doesn't care for bulldogs, he always has something slick to say about mine, but if you ignore his personal rabble he is skilled in his trade and I trust the care he gives.

My baby was very very sick Due to her not being spayed. They got her healthy enough to spay her. But during the spay, my baby passed away. But due to their quick thinking they brought her back to life. Today she is very very healthy & spunky. The staff is remarkable

Firstly, knowledgeable staff. I called several vet clinics to find a specific avian vet. Once I described my pet's condition, only at this clinic I was advised to wait some time before bringing my bird in for an evaluation. They were not in a hurry to get my money, but rather wanted to exclude certain conditions first. I definitely appreciated it. After the proposed wait, I went ahead and brought my pet for a check up. The service was great, both, friendly and professional. My only inconvenience was that I live in the North side of OKC and had to travel to the South Side. But guess what, I will do it again with no doubt because it is absolutely worth it! Highly recommend.

I took my chickens here, yes I know they are just chickens that I only paid $2 a piece for, but they are my pets, and I was shocked at the wonderful care they received for such a fair price. Dr Jones is the primary care vet for my guinea pigs. The staff is very compassionate and willing to work within my my budget. They don’t do appointments, it’s walk-in only, and that means you could be sitting for a while—but I have seen a few critical cases rush in and they’ve been seen right away. The only thing I haven’t been able to get done here is lab work for my guinea pigs, and one of mine had an eye injury I was referred out to. I love that if they don’t know the answer to something, they tell you, and will call around to get me the best answer possible (again, referring to my small animals). The waiting room can honestly be pretty chaotic and overwhelming—if you have an animal who’s easily overstimulated, it might be too much.

We took him to the closest with really good reviews Bird Dog & Cat Clinic on S. Shields & WOW. Great staff, the Vet was a doll, caring, concerned, compassionate it was an irritation & needs drops every 4 hours for 2 weeks. But when he went to pay.......$44.00 & she told him the medication was $4.00 at Walmart!!!!!!!!! We would recommended her clinic because of the care but the prices she charges are a Godsend for people like us (7 cats & a Sonnie). Brought in a kitten found by my place. She had a ball of feces on her hind end. Washed her and found out someone had cut her whole tail off. It was nothing but a hole. I tried syringe feeding her pedialyte before bringing her to the vet. We were on our way and 2 minutes before even getting there. She passed in my arms. I ran in and asked if there was at least a faint pulse. They said no. I broke down even though she was not mine. They helped me contact animal control about the kitten and I got her cremated. I named her Zoe Aerith. Earth Flower and Peace. This place is caring of your animals. They work with you. They are like family members you didn't know you had at the family reunion.

These people are amazing. I went to the same vet for 9 years (Ranchwood) my dog was in labor and the pup was stuck. Our vet said they were closing in 15 minutes and I'd need to take her somewhere else. I saw the this hospital sign as I was going down the highway. They were packed and closing in minutes but they not only took her as a new patient but put her ahead of everyone. We lost the pup but they did Xrays and found there was a second pup. Gave her meds to force hard labor. Stayed there with her until she had her baby. They saved her life and the baby. I was so afraid to ask what the bill would be. To my shock it was only 99.00! Needless to say we have a new vet. They actually care about the animals they work on. Thank you for saving our dog and for the pup that is now a 1 year old happy, healthy member of our family.

Krista & Caressa went above and beyond helping, understanding & comforting me when my dog had a bowel obstruction that resulted in emergency surgery - a foot long incision in his belly - then busted his stitches open a couple of days later. I work nights & was exhausted from trying to take care of him everyday. When he went back for the 2nd surgery 3 days later they were concerned for both of us so kept him overnight & insisted I get some rest! So thoughtful! & altho I don't remember everyone's names there is not a single person I encountered who wasn't kind, caring & tried to help the best they could. My dog Benji almost died from parvo. They really helped me with his medicines and giving him fluids and making everything work out when I was a little short of money on the total cost. Other vets I had called were outrageous. Because the worked with me I was able to save Benji. A week later I took my son's dog in with the same symptoms. Again, they were awesome and did what they could to help him. I was able to save him also. That's where I will take my dogs from now on.

Cheap, decent veterinarian services with a catch: long wait times and questionable medical care can be prevalent. For instance, my family and I had our Boxer/German Shepherd mix, Buddy, neutered there, and he experienced leaking and dripping afterwards. We were promised by one of the vets that we would be helped free of charge, since it was their fault. However, we paid for multiple visits and were given shoddy excuses for his leaking despite the direction correlation to his neutering. However, they do the basic care very well: shots, pills, etc. I would be careful about having any surgical procedures done though.
