I relocated to the town of Nutley about 7 years ago and since that time I have relied on Nutley Animal hospital staff to care for my cat. It has been a great experience each time. The doctors are thorough and the technicians are skilled in cutting my cat's nails safely every time I take her (which is every 5 weeks). I trust them with my most precious pet.

My recent experience at Nutley Animal Hospital was excellent. The staff always makes me feel better when I am so nervous about my Fur Baby Daisy. The Front Desk is welcoming and always greets me with a smile. Dr. Gennace is patient and answered all my questions. I know Daisy is always in good hands. I highly recommend the Nutley Animal Hospital.

Dr. Re is absolutely amazing. My dog needed blood drawn and he got on the floor and hugged him and rubbed his belly to keep him calm. During COVID he came out in the snow to try to get my dog to go inside without me. He is the best!!!!

I brought my Persian cat Brandi to Nutley Animal Hospital because she was having trouble with her paw. Dr Gennace examined her & diagnosed that her claws grew into the pad of her paw. She kindly treated her with extreme care! The assistant, Sonia was also very loving to my cat. Felix & Oskar are amazing with Dr. Gennace! They have been going to her for their annual check-ups since they were 8 weeks old (June 2015), so for about 7 1/2 years now. Nutley Animal Hospital has the best veterinarians, vet assistances, technicians, and receptionists. I could never imagine taking them to another clinic for their health & well-being. Expensive? Yes, but you get what you pay for and nothing less. Even though the boys only go for annual visits, Dr. Gennace always remembers who they are and their history. Most humans cannot say the same for their own physicians.

They did their best with our cat. Amazing doctors and staff there. Thank you Dr. Tuttman for everything you did and as always, Bri Basile Unfortunately, our 8 year old cat Karen threw a clot while we were helping her with her kidney disease and it no longer made sense to treat her. It was Dr. Tuttman's day off and Doctor Gennace was there to help on very short notice. Even the front office staff was great. Helpful and friendly. Answering questions and checking in our little girl. Everyone genuinely cared about what happened with Karen. There were tears all around when we had to put her to sleep. Options and procedures were always fully explained. Time was never an issue and we have no regrets. We never felt as if it was all about the money or pushing for treatments that we weren't best for our baby. Even though there are a few vets in between our home and Nutley Animal Hospital, we will be taking our other two cats there on a regular basis. Thank you for the love and help. You are doing the work of the angels.

I firmly recommend Nutley veterinarian hospital. Primarily, Dr. Re. he is by far the best doctor I have ever had for my fur babies. He is thorough, caring, and always provides a complete and professional checkup. I don't know what I would do without him. The staff is also great, especially Briana, Linda, Renee, and Lisa. They treat you special and are always accommodating to your every need. I wouldn’t go anywhere but to the Nutley animal veterinarian hospital, especially with Dr. Re.

Not the best, but, okay. It can be difficult to get an appointment or a call back. Also, the receptionist is particularly unpleasant. I stopped going to them because when my dog was really ill they were really cold and unsympathetic.

Dr Ray saw us. My Yorkie has stomach issues. Dr. Ray did a great job figuring out what the issue was. I would suggest him to anyone. He has knowledge about all animals from dogs to horses. I’m very happy with the outcome and treatment of my dog.

Dr. Genace is the best exotic vet I’ve been to. I have a pet chinchilla, and when my original vet no longer provided care for him, it was a scramble to find a new vet that wasn’t too far and knew their stuff. Dr. Genace has a chinchilla herself, so she definitely understands the ins and outs of chinchilla care and health. She is so gentle and kind when handling my chin and has helped with solving some recent health issues of his. I honestly wouldn’t trust anyone else with him after seeing the level of care she has provided. The only downside is that she can be hard to get an appointment with, bookings for exotic just generally are tough. So if there’s an emergency it can be a bit tricky. But overall I’ve had a pretty great experience with Nutley Animal Hospital, and can’t recommend Dr. Genace enough!

Maxx had diarrhea and was throwing up this morning called Nutley Animal Hospital @ 9:00am for an appointment which they give me 2:00 pm. I did the curbside check in give Maxx’s medical history spoke with Dr. G, Justin came out to get Max after Dr. G examined him she also did blood work told me to call tomorrow for results. While waiting I spoke with several other pet owners about the health of their pet under NAH care and they were all very satisfied and said that they would treat Max like family for which they did. I met an 11 month year old rockweilder by the name of Zoe lot of energy, also met a bulldog by the name of Rambo, and an older cat named Earl and they were all happy with the services they received as I was too. Thank you Dr. G and nurse Linda for taking such excellent care of Maxx.

Nutley Animal Hospital is such a great place and I’m so happy both of my pups, Sammy and Muffin, get the absolute best care at this facility. Dr. Tuttman is our vet and goes above and beyond for my fur babies during all of our visits. When she’s not available, we see the other vets in the group who are also excellent! The front desk staff is super friendly and very helpful. In a nutshell, this is my go-to place for my pups and I highly recommend if you have pets.

We take both our dogs to see DR. Re. Him and the entire staff are amazing. Our very first visit 2 years with our first pup he spent 20 mins talking to our then 5 year old daughter about safety and when she should/should not carry the puppy. We just got our second dog and he is still so amazing. We always feel like he is being honest and never wants to take advantage of us as pet owners. I will 100% recommend.

The only reason I gave 4 stars is the surprise (to me any way) extra charge of $62 to process a fecal test! I'm a new client with 6 potential patients. My vet of 43 retired. He did fecal tests inhouse, so there was no extra charge for them. Sending them out to a lab seems strange to me. I always knew the results by the time I left the office. They're rather simple to do. Other than that my overall experience was very positive and I am very happy that Dr. Gennace will be caring for my cats and dog.

I’ve been with Nutley Animal Hospital since 8/2020. Every single visit has been a great experience. Dr. Gennace is our primary Vet and she is absolutely wonderful with our olde English Bulldogge Deuce and our recently rescued 5 year old Husky Luna. I have also on occasion seen Dr. Tuttman and most recently have been seeing Dr. Re. I cannot say it enough how wonderful the care for my dogs have been. I was inexperienced when I adopted Deuce and all along the way The Vets at Nutley Animal have been amazing, making sure I understand treatment plans. Truly amazing. I also want to say the staff has always been so nice and caring and making sure my dogs get the help they need right away. Thank You Nutley Animal Hospital you are all amazing. I would never take my furbabies anywhere but NAH unless it was an emergency. My furbabies have been patient there since 1975. Colleen and the office staff are kind, courteous and extremely helpful. The techs have come and gone over the years, but I can't say a bad thing about anyone of them. I usually see Dr Re since he's been there, and you can tell how much he loves his patients and knows everything about them. He is a fantastic Dr. Over the years , I have seen many different Drs starting with Dr Imhoff, Dr McMahon and many of the other Drs. Each one is dedicated to helping the pets they care for. There is no comparison in the service and care you get from NAH. My husband and I love all of you who work there. God bless all of you for doing such a difficult job. I wish I could have given you at least 100 stars. In closing, I have to say how sorry I am to hear about Batman.....your mascot and friend. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Nutley animals hospital is the best.i have been going to this veterinary hospital since 2000 my dog 🐕 Oreo leaved for 15+ year's thanks to nutley animals hospital now we have another dog 🐕 and we are back at nutley animals hospital thanks to all that work there and if you want to get good care for your animal companion you should give them a call I did about 20 year's ago and I'm still here today

I was told by many to come here to bring your pet. I've always went to my girlfriends family members but ever since they moved I was very skeptical where to bring my little guy. When my girlfiends family member recommended me to go to Nutely Animal hospital and to ask for Dr. Rob Re, I was skeptical. But after making the appointment and actually meeting Dr. Rob Re, I would not go anywhere else and would recommend him over anyone! He's VERY knowledgeable and answered all my questions and made my little guy as comfortable as possible. I want to thank Dr. Rob Re and all the staffs who have helped my little guy and myself. I'll be coming back and would recommend everyone to go there!

I decided to come here because of a recommendation from a friend. The only nice person here was the first receptionist that took down my information to make an appointment and the guy named Danny that had brought my dog in. This older woman in the front was rude. I told her I had work calls so if there was another way of communicating and she just looked at me like I had four eyes basically giving off the notion of "oh well too bad". How else do you expect me to pay for the bill you're charging me for...? The vet was really informative and thorough but when she mentioned I had to bring a urine sample the next morning and I said I didn't live too close she says "Oh well, I have to drive far too" who says that to a paying client? I'll only be returning because she's aware of the condition of my dog otherwise I would take her elsewhere.

I’m a first timer at the Nutley Animal Hospital, and if I could give more than 5 stars I would. My frenchie was sick and needed to be care for ASAP. I called at 8:30AM, and they took me at 2:15PM. I was beyond grateful! What an easy, fast and exceptional curbside experience! Dr. Tuttman and the staff were more than accommodating, caring, kind, honest and gave me so much information; everything I needed to know. They followed up early the next morning with results and to see how my pup was doing. That was a great feeling! They really exceeded my expectations by far! And for most people who worry about price, not bad at all. Very fair, and you get everything and more for what you pay for. They are definitely my new vet from here on out! Thank you for making my Enzo better, Nutley Animal Hospital, and I will be returning for all my “Enzo needs.”

This was the first time I took my Frenchton Sophia to get checked and honestly everything from scheduling the appointment to the actual visit was amazing. I was at ease knowing each person who answered the phones or contacted me sounded like they loved their job. No attitude or signs of frustration, which allowed me to be at ease knowing that due to covid it was a curbside drop off. I spoke to Dr. Ray prior to sending her in and yet another comforting call. Once they checked her they called me again to go over everything, then break down the pricing, ask for my okay to move forward and within a few minutes she was brought back to me with detailed instructions for her medications and a follow up appointment. Honestly this experience took a lot of weight off my shoulders and relieved a lot of anxiety I had. Would recommend to anyone.

This place is awesome they take very good care of your pets, but you have to be prepared as they're going to try to treat your pet with more services than what you came in for, they'll let you know beforehand if it's okay with you or not, but they will put high emphasis on the need for these extra services, (in my personal opinion) to jack up the fees. I think I had a good experience with my first ever vet visit and my first ever pet. Waited only 5 mins in the car and was called in. Of course it was a Monday morning so there weren't many people. Was taken straight inside. The vet spent enough time telling me about a lot of puppy stuff and answered my questions patiently. All in all it went well.

Was very impressed with Dr. Rae, but curbside pick was terrible. Waited more than 1/2 hour in cold car with traumatized cat. When they said I could pick him up, I waited outside the door for about 10 minutes. Should be no need for curbside if fully vexed and masked.

I have been going to Dr Re for years. He cared for my first boxer that lived for 12 years after another vet told me he was “unfit for sale” and wouldn’t make it past four years. Now I have my second boxer puppy and I brought her for her first visit today. Dr Re spends a lot of time, he is very thorough and passionate! Very helpful, goes above and beyond. All be it over the phone...before the visit and then again during her time examining. You can tell she genuinely cares about the animals she is caring for. Additionally, head tech Gabby took her time to go over the administering of the medication our pup needed after her visit. She shared her personal expertise which made it that much better. The Dr was very knowledgeable. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. I just moved to the area and adopted a cat. She has an odd rash I've never seen before. The Dr explained all of the possibilities and was very reassuring. He also asked us to follow up directly with him to make sure the regime was working. My husband and I were very happy.

I absolutely LOVE Nutley Animal Hospital. I have been going there since 1981 and would never go anywhere else. Dr. Re is amazing. I have senior cats (21 years old) and Dr. Re has been my primary vet. What I love about Dr. Re (and I am sure the rest of the vets) is that they try to take the least expensive and intrusive method to helping the pets. This saves me money but more importantly, is less stressful for the cats. When I had to put my other cat down last year, Dr. Re and the staff were so caring and compassionate about giving me time alone with him to say my good-byes. My other 2 cats have health issues and Dr. Re takes his time to go over all of the results and clearly explain the options to me to help me make the best decision for them. I do not understand any of the negative comments since I have never had any issues with the vets or the staff in the past almost 37 years that I have been going there.

In the past I have had Dr. Gennace taking care of my cats. She is an exceptional doctor and thorough. Recently I had an emergency with my one cat and Dr. Tuttman happened to be on call. She was also wonderful and made sure to consult with Dr. Gennace since she knows my cats history. They are caring, compassionate, and always take their time to explain how to care for our fur babies. Also, the secretarial staff was equally as attentive at relaying my concern to the doctors.

The staff is pretty nice and visits are ok. My one problem with this office is their lack of care to waste someone’s time. I work from home and have to uber here for my appointment at 2 Pm. It’s 2:30 and I’m still waiting outside - this has happened multiple times. Now I wasted a lot more time than I could have had I been told. It’s just really annoying based on the fact that I plan my meetings for work trusting that my dog would get seen at 2 pm or even 2:15 pm.

This vet is amazing! I brought my cat who peed all over himself on the car ride over and when he got there Dr. Ray examined him and fix multiple problems he was having. They washed him after and he was good a new. Highly recommend going here for any of your pets.

I've had my gerbil, Scudtles for 3 years, and she grew a large tumor on her tail. The staff and Dr. Gennace are amazing.- I wouldn't have picked a better vet for her. Dr. Gennace gave her professional opinion on what would be best for Scudtles, and went with amputating her tail. The team kept me updated on when she went in, how she did with her surgery and what to do after surgery. A couple days later, the staff called to follow up and check on her to make sure everything was going. Scudtles and I are extremely happy now. I would highly recommend this team!

Dr Re is one of the best veterinarians I’ve ever had the pleasure to know. He genuinely takes his time with his explanations when it comes to your dog’s prognosis and general well being. It doesn’t stop there, he gets to know you as a person, and then he ties everything together. He’s always available to me, when I leave a message he calls back promptly, and never ever makes me feel rushed. He always answers every question, even calls me out when I’m attributing to my dogs problem by babying him, and yes I do that. I’m guilty, but I love my dog!!! 🤷‍♀️. I am forever grateful for his knowledge, wisdom, guidance & care, not only for the 2 dogs I’ve brought his way, but for my own emotional well-being when doing so. I went in for flea meds. That’s it. I had their prescription from a previous vet and they insisted on an exam which was fine but annoying. They are really expensive even for the area. They were pretty sales-ee and added a whole bunch of services. It would have been over $2000 for all the procedures they recommended. Granted, they didn’t try again after I said No. It was just a long conversation for flea meds. Never going again.

Nutley Animal Hospital is wonderful! When I call for an appointment because I was very concerned, the reply was always, "When can you come in?". They call back ASAP and always leave messages. If possible, the receptionist who answers the phone, will ask and give answer if vet is busy. They are honest about trratments and prices, especially if expensive and really worth the time and expense - they are dog owners, too. They refer you to specialists and keep in close touch. When my 1st dog passed away from bladder cancer, they sent a sympathy card. Nutley Animal Hospital is everything you want your vet to be - empathetic, honest.

Many of these complaints revolve around the wait time. What most are overlooking is that all through the pandemic they have been one of the only hospitals in the area that remained open and fully operational. Most hospitals are still doing curbside only and not accepting new clients. So if you are a new client to them and your complaint was a long wait well at least they did not turn you away.

Our Pudge had suffered a pulmonary edema on Christmas day forcing us to an emergency vet but the following day we were back in the familiar care of NAH & Dr McMahon got us through the scare, following up ALL weekend morning,noon, & night on her own time. Quick, kind, efficient. The place felt comfertable and all of the staff were kind to both me and my dog. They as kind and caring as possible and answered all of my questions in a clear direct way. The prices weren't even bad and it's honestly a lot cheaper than I thought initially. While there was a little mess up near the end, they were so fast to correct it, that I didn't even have to point it out nor did I have to wait long for them to correct it. They are sweet and I wish I knew of them earlier.
