There isn't a banner big enough to call out how AMAZING Dr Santiago is! He truly cares about animals, in my opinion, they're more than $$$ signs to him. He saved my cat's life (who needed surgery) over 10 years ago for 1/10 of what Westside Animal Hospital in Jersey City had quoted me for the same procedure INCLUDING fluid therapy, overnight stay, post surgery medication and a cone to boot. Happy to report she (Sydnii, pictured) is STILL alive. I sent a friend to him as well whose cat had the same condition Sydnii did...not only did he perform her surgery he brought her home after recovery since she lived in the neighborhood! Dr Santiago is a rare breed (no pun intended) in an essential field. If you want the best for your furbabies; to know they mean more than income to the person whose mercy youre in, you take them to Dr Santiago and don't think twice about it. Taking this time to write a loooong overdue review because I just referred another friend to him. Keep it up Dr Santiago and EOAH! You're hero's for the voiceless and those who love them.

Ive been here twice for a issue with my new kitten and I am overall super impressed. Me being a semi first time pet owner I was not took advantage of with prices everything seemed fair and the general best interest of my pet was their number one concern. I am super grateful and although it's a trip for me to get here I will continue to come here.

First time at this animal hospital, love it. Dr. Santiago looks very passionate on what he does, makes you very feel comfortable with your pet situations answers all your questions and don’t make you feel uncomfortable like other doctors do. Great Vet. Very reasonable, the waiting is what annoys people most. But he it is genuinely worth it. I had an appointment set for dec 5, but my dog was in such bad shape I brought him in a whole week early, waited about 2 hours to be seen. They take scheduled appt before walkins unless it’s an emergency (hit by car, etc) He checked my boy out and sent him home w some antibiotics and inflammation meds. he’s just about good as a pup. After the wait, it all took about 15 minutes for him to be seen and bloodwork drawn. Results are usually within 24-48 hours. Very affordable. $300 was my tab for visit including meds and blood work. Be patient, he will see your furry friend. It’s very apparent he cares more for the animal than his pockets. Very grateful for this Doctor.

Great doctor, friendly staff. My dog needed to get neutered, and when he was in another clinic, they scared him so bad, so he didn't let them do anything. Since that each vet visits were pretty stressful for him. Then I still decided to get him fixed, and went to east orange animal hospital. And the doctor and his staff found their own way of getting along with my dog, and were able to perform the surgery. We couldn't be happier!

I am so happy I found this place. The building doesn't look fancy but the service sure is (and that's all that matters). Dr. treated my kitten with such love and care, and I love the fact that I can see that he's not doing this for money AT ALL. I am planning on moving out of this town soon and I was just looking for a one time vet today, but after this experience he will be Ruby's permanent doctor. I waited for about an hour before being seen , but I was an add on for that day so I didn't mind the wait. Dr. Santiago isn't very expensive and with the inflation that we are experiencing now a days it was nice knowing I didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for my dog to be seen by a vet. EOAH is experiencing high volume since the beginning of covid-19. Difficult to contact via phone. Twice, I needed to make contact in person for Appt. Appointments are 2 to 3 months out unless it's an emergency. You're referred to corresponding affiliated veterinarian facility if current patient. Overall, I have been satisfied, "so far", with the services provided by EOAH to all my pets.

Please note that it's a home converted into an animal facility. I thought I pulled up to the wrong place. The staff was nice to me and my pet and seemed pretty knowledgeable about rabbits, they even have their own pet rabbit. I'll definitely make this my go to vet.

Vets are nice and helpful but the schedule time not on point we was scheduled for 11 and appointment actually happend at 12:30... but depending on the size of your dog is ur appointment time, because all small dogs was there at 11/around my appointment. Is when the big dogs started to come in later in the day when the lil dogs was leaving as there appointments were done, which I think is clever and cool.

Dr. Santiago is where I've been going to, for over 15 years. His knowledge of veterinary medicine by far the best. I don't trust any other veterinarian with any of my furbabies. And I've had many. I bring my dogs from Detroit MI. To see him my advise is once you go to him. You won't go anywhere else. His temperament is wonderful I laterally love him.

Best place hands down. Left my dog fluffy on saturday and didnt get him until monday. I was a bit worried because we didnt hear back. I wish they had an emergency number but overall when we got him monday. fluffy looked great in a bit of pain but overall great experience and amazing prices. The AMAZING Dr. Michael Santiago has been caring for my kids (4 dogs) for a little over 10 years. He's the best, I trust him. You can tell that he loves what he does. I'd recommend him to anyone who owns a pet.

First thing you want in a Vet is someone who is knowledgeable and who genuinely cares, and Dr. Santiago is definitely both. He only suggests what he really thinks you need at a more than reasonable price. He does not try to sell you extra meds or procedures like other Vets I’ve used. My cat had a severe wound due to a raccoon attack which left her inner thigh completely exposed. Dr. Santiago not only performed the surgery but offered weekly laser treatments which had the wound completely healed at an astonishingly quick rate. On top of this, his staff is kind, courteous and professional. My appointments are always in the morning so I am usually seen by Jennifer at the front desk. Not only does she always pleasantly greet me she remembers my pets, the treatment they received and always asks how they’re doing since each visit because she genuinely cares. She also goes above and beyond to schedule me at times that works best for me and always gives me a call the day before as a reminder. Someone (usually Jennifer) always answers when I call the office and helps me schedule an appointment or get me what I need effortlessly with no complications at all. From the doctor to the staff this is obviously a caring, knowledgeable and helpful Veterinary office. I definitely recommend checking out East Orange Animal Hospital for your pets next need/s.

I finally found Dr. Santiago who worked with me, but it was too advanced to save her as it turned out. Her passing was the most peaceful of any kitty I've had in 40 years. I can't say enough good things about this CARING and WONDERFUL doctor!! When all the other animal hospital and emergency clinics turned me away because of a matter of money, as well as seeing me in such an emotional and desperate state because of my sick cat, Dr. Santiago was the ONLY ONE who stepped up and was there for me!! I’ve had two dogs that were taken care of by Dr. Santiago . The first was a GS mix his name was General he was about 17 in dog years, He was with Dr Santiago from a pup. I had to put him down in 2009.later that year I aquired another full blooded GS his name was Thor I eventually had to put him down this pass August 2020.Dr Santiago helped me transition both of my fur babies. I was so broken when I had to put Thor down , because he was my bud, (ride or die) I loved that dog . Dr Santiago was very patient with me in both instances. My sister and I took her cat here yesterday and it was a wonderful experience, not so much for the cat (obviously he was fearful) but Dr. Santiago and his assistant were awesome. Dr. Santiago was so gentle with him, answered all our questions thoroughly and educated us on the best options to proceed with his care. Dr. Santiago is the best! The place is very busy and full. When you go you must be prepared to wait. Once you are in with Dr. Santiago he is so kind and attentive, and very patient with questions and so gentle and thorough with your pet. His assistants are gentle and kind as well. The staff over the phone varies. Some are nice and some are not. Same when you get there. But you are going there for Dr. Santiago, because he will tell you the truth and is very thorough, but also so patient and kind with both animals and humans. I could not recommend him more highly.

When you pull up to the place, I must say, it does not look great, so I was sceptical at first. The hospital is located in an old residential house and inside also leaves a lot to wish... but if you care more about the quality of service provided, then you are in a right place. Doctor Santiago is simply the best. Always very compassionate, listens to your concerns, and never failed to diagnose my dog properly. The down side is that even with a appointment, be prepared to wait a long time.

The wait was a bit long (about an hour), but the office was quite busy and there were a lot of people with emergencies and sick animals. I followed him to East Orange when he opened his own place because is so caring and knowledgeable. I rescued a month old kitten on the streets, which I wanted to adopt. My friend suggested me to take him here to check him. From the moment you step inside other clients and the staff themselves are really welcoming and friendly. Dr. Santiago was really helpful walking me through the proper way of taking care of the kitten to ensure his healthy development. He was gentle in his examination. This created a feeling of trust on me which I think he is on good hands when taking him there. Very reasonably priced, reasonably good location (a little shady around there, but near 280, so you don't have to travel too far into the inner parts of East Orange). Dr. Santiago is a great vet that I have known for years and he treats my animal with a lot of tenderness. Tries to see all the animals he can on any given day and is truly humane with a sharp knowledge of animal physiology. Answers all questions (intelligent or otherwise :-)) clearly and succinctly and lays out all options. I'd go to him if he was a human doctor.

My 13 year old cat Blanche was very sick and had a breathing problem that could not be corrected. I had to make the very difficult decision to put her to sleep. Doctor Santiago and his staff are some of the kindest and most compassionate people I have ever met. They treated Blanche very gently and understood how hard it was for me to part with her. As sad a day as it was for me I am very grateful to have had such a wonderful, caring group of people with me and Blanche as her life came to an end.

Friendly and professional. Took our cat in for what we feared was heartworm, performed x-rays and blood tests and quickly ruled out heartworm. Turns out it was a respiratory infection, treated with antibiotics. In and out in less than 1 hour.

I made an appointment on what appears to be their website, only to be told upon arrival that the website doesn't belong to them, and as a walk-in patient you'll be waiting for hours, the staff was very nice and professional about the situation. A little over 3 weeks ago, my cat Khensu was very sick, so sick that he collasped and while in route to the Dr I had to give him CPR.. When we arrived, Dr Santiago and his team quickly took over doing everything they could to help Khensu.. Unfortunately, despite all their efforts Khensu stopped breathing again and passed.. Though this was a heartbreaking moment, I truly appreciated everything that Dr Santiago and his team tried to do.. They even helped me through Khensu's cremation. Any furture pet(s) that I have will certainly have this Dr and his team as their health providers..
