While the vets themselves have all been nice, the front office team and anyone answering the phone have, without fail, been rude. Every. Single. Encounter. On two occasions the costs discussed were not accurate to the final bill. When I asked the staff at the desk to explain how the visit cost 85% more than quoted, they couldn't provide an answer. I asked specifically for the person who I'd spoken to on the phone less than 3 hours prior and turns out I was speaking with the same person. They offered no explanation and furthermore, no apology. My dog has received consistent care there, but their team spoils the experience.

I was in town for a short time and needed to get some stitches removed from my dogs ear. I was unable to get them all out on my own, so I called the Magazine Street Animal Clinic. Not only were they able to get me a next day appointment, everyone was super friendly and helpful and they didn't charge me a dime. This place is awesome!!

The doctor my puppy had was absolutely amazing! Dr. Bridget would take the time to let Roux get comfortable with her every time we came in. It truly warmed my heart. But Dr. Bridget has left unfortunately and the last doctor Roux saw didn't take any time at all with her. (Which is the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars) So we will try a different doctor next time. The front desk girls are always so nice and helpful! They get Rouxs meds refilled very quickly. They also have gotten us in for an appt when we needed to be seen out of the blue. Pricey, but over all great and I'm willing to pay whatever I need to as long as Roux is happy and comfortable with her doctor and they are meeting her needs!

My dog was getting worse and worse with her allergies. It got really bad today. I called around and was able to get my dog into Magazine street animal hospital. They saw her and treated her so quickly. She had bulgy red eyes when I took her in. When I picked her up she was happy and looked 100x better. The Vet talked with me directly about her which I really appreciated. Everyone treated my dog with love. We will be back.

My Australian Shepherd got a metal shard stuck in his foot and was in a tremendous about of pain from it. I've been taking him to Southern Animal Foundation all 9 years of his life and couldn't be happier with their service and care. They were fully booked for the next couple days when Finn needed treatment but referred me over to Magazine Animal Clinic, who were able to see us the same day. Every aspect of their service, staff, facilities and treatment were absolutely stellar. 10/10

All of the staff here is so wonderful and friendly, even on their busiest days, from the front desk staff to the vet techs and DVMs. They offer drop-off appointments, making sure your pet gets seen when needed even if they don't have open appointment slots. Dr. Bridget in particular is exceptionally kind and caring with my dog (and me). She always takes her time to talk with me about anything and everything that could be going on with my dog. We are lucky to have such great service available to us! Highly highly recommend!!

Dr. Kevin is an amazing, caring, and thoughtful vet. Last Friday, we had to bring our diabetic Maine Coon, Finn, in because he took a severe turn for the worse. He stopped eating, was extremely lethargic, and even refusing raw fish (his favorite). We are currently strapped for cash as my husband and I got married last month. Dr Kevin examined him and was heart broken. Finn's chart was noted as "needs sedation before anything." He is normally fiery af. He had no fight left in him. Dr Kevin did simple blood work to see if his fears were warranted. Sadly, they were. Finn had gone into liver failure. Dr. Kevin walked us through our only options which were hospitalization only having a maybe 15% chance of saving him or to have him put to sleep. Tearfully, we chose the later. I held him until he fell asleep and whispered gently to him as Dr. Kevin gave him the second shot. We all cried as he took he last few breaths. Dr. Kevin bedside manner was impeccable. Thank you for caring for our furbabies so much. Your compassion and empathy lessened our pain. Thank you. On a side note, our pibble foster, Harley, adores him.

THEY. WERE. WONDERFUL! Showed up with a hedgehog with little notice, was seen quickly and professionally! And the cost for a visit for a new exotic patient, on an emergency basis, including check-up, observation, stool sample and meds was $150 -- /less/ than the cost of her annual check-up for an ongoing client at the Avian and Exotic vet in Metarie! That vet is really good too...but I think I will be switching to Magazine St. Animal Hospital for all of our pets!

I have been going to this clinic for over ten years and my dogs have seen many of the doctors there. Each of them has been very thurough in examining the issues, they give options and suggest what they recommend but allow you to comfortably make your own decision. They are very caring and explain things well. We mostly see Dr. Johanna whom we love. Their schedule is great since they are open outside of normal business hours and on the weekend. I wouldn't bring my pets anywhere else. Love them.

Have had several bad experiences here with our pets, including unnecessarily delaying care for an acute condition to “confirm” a diagnosis which had already been agreed on by two previous vets. Vet techs seem incompetent, they are terrible at communication and often give conflicting and inaccurate information about the planned course of treatment and your pet’s condition. We have had good interactions with Dr. Kevin who has dealt with several of our dog’s issues and seems very thorough and knowledgeable.

Dr. Johanna at Magazine St. Animal Clinic is by far the best vet we have been to, and we are so grateful to have found her! She is SOO good with our oldest dog, a rescue pit mix who can be fearful/awkward in public, and we are so happy to have a great vet to bring our recently adopted puppy to as well. Her clinical judgment is excellent and she always uses the best research/evidence to inform her practice. She goes above and beyond for her patients and it is so nice knowing that our dogs have such an awesome doctor!!

A little pricey, but worth every penny. I've had three pets cared for by the wonderful vets here, and have always been blown away by the warmth and genuine care experienced here. I've had two pets pass on over the years I've been a customer, and each time I was treated with such care and sensitivity. I also board my super high-anxiety pit here when I need to, something not possible at other places. Can't say enough good things about this place!

We were in New Orleans from out of town and had to put our cat to sleep. She’d been sick but she declined quickly and we had to say goodbye before we could get back home from our road trip. MSAC was incredibly accommodating and respectful. They saw us on 1.5 hours’ notice at 7pm. We couldn’t have asked for a more caring staff or comfortable environment to say goodbye. Obviously there is no good or happy way to do this kind of thing, but they were tactful and caring and ensured she was comfortable. They were incredibly nice and understanding of the emotional experience for us as well. Highly recommend this place, and although we likely won’t have an opportunity to return, we definitely would take our pets here again given the chance.

Amazing clinic. Everyone there supports and takes care of your pet like their own. Everyone is experienced in pet treatment and care and from the moment my pitbull Blue was in their hands, I actually felt comfortable, because I trusted them. The doctor followed up with a wellness check call and was not rushed and was more than willing to answer any questions I had. I would recommend this clinic for your fur babies hands down.

We took our pup in for an emergency visit on a Saturday when our regular vet was closed. In a time when many vets make you drop off your dog at the door and you are not allowed to accompany your pet, Magazine St Animal Clinic was compassionate and professional. We especially appreciated the vet follow up call on Monday to make sure there were no further issues. When your pet is a valued family member, *this* is the place to go!

My favorite vet is Dr Jo. She always makes my shy dog feel comfortable and makes me feel confident in her ability to treat my dogs. She takes her time and also makes sure that any questions you have are answered. The clinics hours are a bonus and they always have an appointment available for me. The vet techs also answer my sometimes inane questions or leave a message for the vet who replies always in a timely manner. Love this place!

I am so blown away by the care here - I've had my dog her whole life almost 5 years and she's never had to get anything done but I noticed something was wrong and being new to town I didn't know where to take her. I found Magazine Street Animal Clinic and brought her here. Dr Scott is amazing and during his examination he was willing to look in her mouth (something past vets had been unwilling to do - she bites) - he found her source of trouble and we scheduled her surgery. We're 5 days past her surgery and my little dog is happy and healthy and I'm so beyond grateful for not only the care shown to her, but the care shown to the owners as well. I see no reason why I wouldn't bring her here for everything the rest of her life.

All of the staff was extremely friendly. I had to take my fur baby in on a Sunday and the doctor was in an emergency surgery so it did take awhile but I received multiple phone calls with updates. I wanted to share my incredible experience with Dr. Johanna Ecke and the staff at Magazine Street Animal Clinic. Our chocolate Lab was literally our first child. My wife and I got him after a painful loss and he gave us purpose, companionship, and so much love. We soon started a family a year after we got him. When he was 13 years old, we boarded him at another facility for 2 days. When I picked him up, he could not walk anymore. The facility had no explanation for this. You can imagine how we felt. I found Dr. Jo when looking for a vet that could perform acupuncture. I spoke to her on the phone and she was kind and compassionate. She spent almost 3 hours with him on our first session. She prescribed some new medications for him. Amazingly, she got him walking again. I worked very closely with Dr. Jo for the next 15 months. During that time, I boarded him at Magazine Street Animal Clinic 3 times. He was treated like a king. Eventually, at 14 and a half, his body started giving out. I don’t think I have ever been so sad in my life. Dr. Jo arranged a special time on her day off for my wife, my son, daughter and me to come in to put him to sleep. We were all there as he slipped away and she and the staff made it a very special moment. I cannot say enough about Dr. Jo. She has the kindest and most compassionate soul of any human I have ever met. Obviously, I cannot recommend her any more highly. I want to thank her and the staff for giving me an extra wonderful 15 months with my first son. I can never repay the kindness and compassion.

Love this place! Had to admit my cat cause he had a feline urethra obstruction, and they were so professional. I appreciated the way they were able to assist us and deliver the news (and not freak us out). Dr. Gorbi would also call and check in our cat! I really appreciated that. This place is amazing. Can't recommend it highly enough. Was in a real bind. My grandmother died suddenly and I had to fky out of the state the next day for funeral and estate issuse. Wiuld not have been abke ti board my pugs if these guys were not so acccomidating and helpful. Evreyone from the person who answered the phone to the person who took the dogs back and got them everything they needed was extreemly nice, courteous, fast/efficient, and great at handleing my animals -not always the case just because you work in a vets office-. And when they fiund out my circumstances they truly cared and showed it until i left with my dogs. 10/10 will recomend them to friends.

Our family cannot say enough good about MSAC. Our 16 year old cat was experiencing severe, multiple-day constipation with vomiting and our family was so worried. The whole team put us at ease and were 100% responsive to our concerns. They worked with us to come up with a treatment and care plan that made sense for an otherwise healthy elder-cat. The entire time, our whole family felt that MSAC would take care of him like he was one of their own--realizing we'd have to leave him there was tough at first because our baby has never spent any time away from home unless he's with us. We were beyond relieved when we got the call from Dr. Amy that everything was ok. She is so warm, personal, funny and did a great job educating us on his prognosis and follow-up care. She is also highly supportive of pet owners that opt for a raw diet and suggested nutritional therapy that we could incorporate into our kitty's current feeding routine. MSAC, thank you for taking our furkid on a busy Saturday during a pandemic and restoring him to health. Today, we're celebrating yet another Halloween with our favorite black cat. ^-^ We're so glad that we found a new go-to vet and would recommend MSAC to anyone!

I feel as though she completely emphathizes when your pet is sick and was the only doctor I would have trusted to be with me when I needed to put down my baby when she was suffering and it was her time. She made every effort to save our dog, and when his time came, she came to our home to let him go in a peaceful place. Our firm loves and supports the Magazine Street Animal Clinic. They have been treating our 8 year old golden retriever with cancer for the past few months and the entire staff has been amazing. They have been kind, patient and have answered all of our questions regarding our dog's prognosis. We are fortunate that Dr. Amy caught the cancer as quickly as possible and Gigi is now in remission! They are also dedicated to helping stray and homeless pets in the New Orleans area as well. Dr. Ecke saved our other dog that we adopted when he was a puppy running around the streets of New Orleans. Without her picking him up that day and bringing him back to the clinic for much needed medical care we wouldn't have him today! As a small firm, we love supporting local businesses. Dr. Johanna and the staff have been amazing. I have 2 dogs, 1 is a senior who was having health issues that were alarming. Dr. Jo was able to diagnose him and put him on simple medication that will keep him happy for the rest of his days. They are very helpful, she explains things well and is more than happy to spend as much time as is needed so that you can understand. Questions are always welcome. The support staff has been nothing but helpful and very well organized. If there is an emergency, they will go above and beyond as they care for your animals. I have been going there for years and am moving out of state and I hope to find a clinic as great as this one. Ive also seen the dr. amy and another new dr. for routine visits when i have booked at the last minute for my convenience and they were great too. Dr. Johanna is exceptional though.

I love Magazine street animal! They treat all my pets. They handled putting down my senior cat when it was time. They were nothing but professional. Brought some kittens in as a Spaymart volunteer. They were able to get them in today, and as busy as they were, took the time to check them out. I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff both in person and over the phone. Even more impressive was how clean and beautiful the clinic is. It feels more "homey" rather than a doctors office. Very comfortable setting. Just wish the parking lot was bigger since I'm not one who parallel parks, but anyone familiar with the area knows what to expect. Thanks for your help and all you do for Spaymart!! :)

I've been going here for years to Dr Amy and Dr Kevin for my dude Brak. I love MSAC. Not cheap IMHO, but you get what you pay for. They are comprehensive, professional, provide great answers and explanations, and they have a full in house suite of surgical capability. Super chill about morning dropoff afternoon pickup.

Major props to MSAC. My dog was attacked by another dog during a parade and the staff stayed late on a Sunday to wait for me. I appreciated it so much because there are only so many vets that are open on Sundays, and they were the only one that I could get to, what with the roads being shut down for Mardi Gras.
