This is Toothless. He is showing off his tail that had to have a wound cleaned and drained. They took good care of him. He and I were happy with the whole staff. I was very happy about my bill. I expected to be significantly higher but it was very reasonable. Great job!

They really really care about their patients, mom's and dog babies. We have had so much trouble with our little rescue and I call ALL the time. They always support me. We unfortunately had to have our fur baby sent across the Rainbow Bridge and as hard as it was these folks made it as bearable as it could've been made. Dr. Layne is a wonderful vet! He is calm, patient, gentle with pets and respectful...bedside manner is excellent as well. I recently had to let go of my sweet old dog Bernie of 14 years and have dreaded this day since I brought him home as a puppy. Dr. Layne made me at ease and reassured me that it was the right decision during a very emotional and difficult time. There is even this beautiful area in the trees to take a final little walk with pictured below. So grateful we ended up with him during this process. He treated the same dog 7 months prior and cured his chronic vomiting /diarrhea which gave us extra time (best gift of all) to spend with our boy. Highly recommend Dr. Layne!

Absolutely love this vet office. We lost a pet in March . He's name was eho. They treated us with so much love and support. When we picked up he's remains everything was packed so beautifully. They sent us sympathy cards with everyone signing they called to check on us. They helped us through this painful situation. We now have a new baby he's name is churo . And they make sure everything is well and very gentle while giving him he's shots. I wish it was more vets like this. Thank you everyone. Gloria Smith.

Theo’s (our new poodle puppy) appointment was later in the week, we became very worried about him being lethargic so they moved the appointment up. I became super paranoid that he was dying so she told me to bring him now. They were super busy with no open rooms, but they took him back & diagnosed him rather quickly & communicated with us all the good, the bad & the scary truth. (I had every right to be paranoid) The compassion of the office staff was remarkable. THEY SAVED HIS LIFE! He had to have a blood transfusion & I was super worried about the cost, but it wasn’t that bad to save his life (he’s 8weeks old) Thankful for Doggy Rico donated blood to our Theo. Thankful for Dr. Ben & the techs. Our pup was dying & they saved his life & didn’t cost me a small fortune to do it. Communication, knowledge, experience & service was outstanding even during a busy day mid week in a pandemic.

Kind, caring staff and honest vets. When I took my cat in with upper respiratory issues the doctor did a thorough exam and said he really felt like it was probably a cold that needed to run its course. He'd do bloodwork if I wanted to rule out some other things, but didn't feel like it was bad enough to go that route. Sure enough, a few days later things were mending themselves and back to normal. I appreciated him not pushing for potentially unnecessary tests. I've had 5 animals here and have always felt comfortable with them.

Started going here last summer with a stray kitty I took in. We were going to take her to a different local Vet which my parents had been taking their pets to for last couple years but decided to research some others as the current vet seemed much pricier than others plus the reception Staff just didn't make me feel warm and fuzzy. I landed on New Shackle and from the gate they offered reasonable pricing , quick appt scheduling and reception was very kind and friendly. Their facility feels warm & inviting and any Vet or staff member has always shown genuine care for my kitties and take the time to give them special attention. My cat has since gave birth to 5 sweet little kittens that I am raising and NSIV has helped me get them all set up with first vaccines, deworming and individual passports for each kitten that I'll be able to pass on to the new owners as they are adopted out. Wonderful experience across the board , def recommend!

My puppy has started having seizures and is still under a year. I have been going here for both my dogs but they have really raised the bar in their handling of her. I have been the obnoxious pet parent and called many many times for her test results, random questions, new thoughts I'm having, everything. March 12th and 13th of this year was my scariest with my momma dog who was only 11 months old giving birth to her first set of puppies. She had stopped given birth after the 3rd puppy the night before, and I was freaking out badly. I called all around the morning of the 13th. I was tight on budget, and they worked with me to have her checked out. The vet and nurses were awesome. We took xrays, and she even had a puppy while in the vets office. The nurses helped me carry my momma dog back out to the car on the banket with her now 4 puppies. The vet recommended that she was just resting and that I just needed to let nature do it's thing. He didn't recommend giving her any meds. He only recommended xrays to see how many puppies she would have so I would know when she would be done. This was my first time ever having a dog and going through the birth of puppies with. Our xrays shows that momma was only resting because as soon as we got back home within an hour, she had 9 more puppies. I was so relieved and impressed with both the dr and the care of the nurses that I told my husband that this was our new vet. We didn't lose a single puppy. Btw, she was a big dog, lab-pit mixed. She never crawled or barked or anything towards any of the staff or dr either which was not like her so I knew we were in the right place.

Made an appointment for my family fur baby (GoldenDoodle) yearly examination. Checked in at that time at the front desk. Less than a minute we were brought to a exam room (with a pit stop to to capture Max's weight before heading to the room). Facility is clean and rooms as well. Once in the room, within a couple minutes, 2 lovely people showed up, asked a few questions, reviewed what the purpose and the shots required/requested, and to take the necessary samples, then left. A few minutes later the doctor and one of the initial team members returned to give Max the shots required and to give him a check up (Reviewed his eyes, ears, mouth, heart beat, etc.). Once finished they left advising they will return shortly with the results from blood and stool samples. They returned and advised all samples were good and said we were good to head back to the front desk to pay for the visit. I paid the bill and received the necessary paperwork (plus bought some heartguard). All of this was completed in less than 30 minutes and overall we had a great experience (though Max didnt like the treats, he is picky though). Thank you!

We just recently changed veterinarian practices to be closer to home and I'm really glad we chose New Shackle. Our 6 year old lab mix was having trouble with arthritis and needed an annual wellness exam. Dr. Brothers was so kind, patient, and answered all of my questions. She called me the next day with lab results just as she said she would. I was very pleased with this office and will definitely be back!

I should have left a review for this vet clinic long ago. The staff here are truly wonderful. The ladies at the front desk are so sweet. The Veterinarians are great- willing to spend time with you to talk through options, conservative in their approach and reasonable in their thought processes. We recently had an older dog who was sick in his last 1.5 years of life. They helped us care for him, tried options to keep him healthy for as long as possible and supported us when we had to make the difficulty decision to put him down. After we put him down, they sent a sympathy card to our home. Just overall good, sweet people that provide affordable quality care for your pets.

This has been our vet office since we moved to Nashville over 10 years ago, and we have not once been disappointed. We have had 2 cats and 3 different dogs taken care of by this office over the years. The customer service is amazing and the level of care is phenomenal. The people who work here truly care about your pet as your family member and treat them like one of their own. They will see your pet and help even when you don't have an appointment, and will do all that they can to make sure your furry babies are well taken care of. And they do it with a smile! As if the quality of care isn't exceptional enough on it's own, the pricing is amazing as well. I have never gotten a bill that was over the top, outrageous or not what I expected. They've never taken advantage or overcharged us for any reason, even in unexpected and emergency situations. In fact, often the bill ends up being much less than what we anticipated. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this vet and the entire staff. They are our choise for a vet office for life and I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking quality vet care.

I would recommend this vet to anyone! The staff and doctors are so incredibly kind. We unfortunately had to put our dog down and I was crying the whole time. The vet came in and help us feel confident in our decision and was so kind to our sweet girl. We stayed in there while they gave her the first shot to put her to sleep and the vet let us stay in there for a long time saying our goodbyes. When we left so they could give her the second shot the vet told us not to worry and she would take wonderful care of our sweet girl. When they brought her out to us the vet tech gave me a hug and conforted me while I bawled. If their kindness there wasn't enough, today I received a letter in the mail signed by all of them saying they were sorry for our loss. If you want a vet who truly cares then go here!

This place is wonderful. They have cared for my dogs so well. All the vets and staff are great. I am so thankful to have them to take my furbabies to. One of my dogs had a problem that exacerbated pretty quickly. Dr. Koelling cleared his schedule to take her in for urgent surgery with less than a day's notice. He didn't have to do this. I won't go into the long story here, but I want to tell anyone in need of a vet to try this place. I am truly grateful for the care they have given my pets. Years ago, one of our dogs had to be put down. She was 16. Anyone who loves animals knows how hard this is. Dr. Layne wrapped her in a heart blanket and carried her to the car afterwords. He was so kind when I was falling apart. These people are passionate about their purpose. I can't imagine some of the things they see, but I thank God for what they do for animals. I recommend New Shackle Island Vet to everyone. Also, this place is so reasonable. I had to leave another vet years ago because prices were just way too high for me.

I have taken my Westie, Scooter, to a couple of places that I thought were more money-minded than they were interested in the care of my dog. I have had only the best attention given to my Westie by the staff of this Vet. My dog recently required 2 teeth to be extracted. Dr. Koelling called me to give a report on Scooter and to answer any questions I had concerning the procedure. He, also, returned my call regarding pain medication. I have NO complaints on this office. Also, Dr. Nelson, the vet who fills-in for the regular doctors is EXCELLENT! I am very appreciative of their care.
