Brought my cat here twice at the recommendation of my regular vet. First time was for a non-emergency hip surgery and second time was for emergency bladder crystal treatment. Both times the staff and vets were very kind and communicated with us everything that would be happening step by step. The hip surgery was scheduled so I don’t recall how long it took to get him in but it was less than a few days. When we took him for the bladder crystals it was during peak covid and all vet clinics were slammed, but they still got him in within a few hours. Both times we were given a high and low estimate of the costs and both times they came in under the low estimate. My cat is happy and healthy now, but if he had a serious issue that my normal vet couldn’t handle this is where we’d bring him again without a doubt.

Honestly, my experience starting out was not the best. My dog was diabetic and saw internal medicine- starting with one doctor, not hearing from them for a while, and after following up a few times was finally told that doctor was no longer there.
Since then, however, everything has been great.
After his eyesight went, he started seeing ophthalmology at Outpatient as well. Dr Lanuza is such a gem, and the whole staff is spectacular.
We, sadly, eventually ended up in Emergency after a fall- Dr Geiger was wonderful and did everything imaginable to try and make my baby more comfortable, and even though the outcome was what no one wants, the way it was handled by all the staff- the doctor, the social worker, everyone- they really went out of their way to try and help us get through the process.
I've received emails for Grief Counseling, and the Ophthalmologist's office even sent a beautiful card.
Thank you for taking care of my baby in so many ways. I will never forget it.

Overall amazing emergency specialty hospital.
Mostly great, with only some not so great things.
Easily a best in the city, and I’ve trusted them with my pup for a couple of major situations.
Thanks to the staff and vets here.
Greats: they take great care of your animals. The vets call and follow up and take the time to talk through it all with you in a way that is clear. They seem to have great recommendations for how to treat. They are also highly regarded among other vets I’ve spoken with. I will 100% be coming back here whenever I need.
Not so greats: sometimes the staff is just not great at communicating. Not all, but some and only sometimes. This last trip I was told two different things from the staff when I picked up my dog. I said something to the person and I had to push to get her to do what they already said they would. So… that kind of thing could just go smoother if everyone is on the same page.
I will also say, this type of thing is not uncommon at pretty much every vet I’ve ever visited,🤷🏻♂️ people make mistakes.

I had a sick cat who has always been terrified of going anywhere, including when I had to take him up to MASH in the middle of the night. By the time I got to bring Sam home, I could tell that the staff genuinely love animals and making sure they're healthy and ok. From the initial call to let them know I was bringing my cat in to after I picked him up everyone I spoke with at the hospital seemed as though they were there just to help get Sam better. The professionalism and compassion is unparalleled. This is where I will take my cats should I need care for them. It was so comforting to see Sam calm, and happy when I brought him home. If I could give more than five stars, I most definitely would! I highly recommend MASH Animal Hospital.

Theo, my dog, has a lung problem. So We needed to see an internal medicine doctor here. I researched for a week to find the best hospital in LA. Dr. Bisignano came outside and explained a few possibilities that Theo could have from the lung X-Ray. What I liked about this hospital was explaining details that we can understand. Theo had a bronchoscopy, and we are waiting for a result. Theo will be ok because he is with a good hand. One thing I gave them four stars, they did not provide us with information of address which is a different address on google, and did not follow up on my appointment. BTW Thank you for ALL!

I went to MASH a week and a half ago to put my dog Lola to sleep. They were all so kind and caring. The vet couldn’t have been nicer. They also sent in what I think was a grief counselor to talk to me about Lola and what to do with her afterwards. He also couldn’t have been nicer. It made a terribly painful experience bearable. They sent me home with a folder containing the Rainbow Bridge poem and some info on grief support groups that they offer. I also did not have to wait long and the bill wasn’t that expensive. And I just received a sympathy card in the mail with a small paper paw with wildflower seeds to plant in my garden. It really made my day. I highly recommend them.

Took my dog here around the holidays when her primary vet and the closest walk-in clinic were closed. Staff were all really lovely and patient and made me feel heard. I also appreciate that they’re still closely following COVID protocols. My dog is usually very eager to get away from the vet, but when I picked her up afterwards, her mood was calm and happy. The team also packaged medications in a very thoughtful way, marking the fill-line on the medicine dropper and giving me a free pill slicer. Appreciate their kindness and going above-and-beyond on the little details.

It was my first time here. I drove from the San Gabriel Valley, and every ER turned me away . MASH was pretty qucik (3.5 hours), considering how many pet patients they had. They dont allow anyone in the facility to wait. Wait in your car, and they do have a small parking lot on the side of the building. The "round about" is mainly for pet pick up. Paperwork is done through email, and so are payments fast and easy. They allow you to use the restroom, and they give you a mask to wear for inside. Also, you are welcome to wait under the tents outside, but we got cold, so we sat in the car. There is a big screen where you can monitor your pets progress. I'll attach some pictures to see. Its kinda cute and helpful. The staff was super nice and friendly, and when the doctor called, he was patient and gave us ideas on which way to proceed. He was so kind and very explanatory for treatment. Thank you, MASH, so much for your amazing service.

Took my 20 lb mixed chihuahua last night about 1:30am for a severe eye infection. Everyone, from front office to doctor, were so nice and patient. There was a bit of wait time which is expected but overall happy with my experience at MASH Vet. They've made it so convenient, waited in my car from beginning to end, only got down to pay.

This is the BEST animal hospital in LA.
Our Pomeranian was in critical condition and they were the only place that when we called treated it as such and wasn’t telling us it would be 6hr. Then when we got there he was seen immediately and got care.
The doctors are extremely commutative going through every step of the treatment plans and made a point to empower us in the process.
THIS PLACE CARES ABOUT YOUR PETS HEALTH

The staff at MASH have saved our kitty's life on several occasions (primarily urinary blockages). We are so incredibly grateful for the top-quality care MASH has provided to us over the years, despite being incredibly busy throughout the pandemic. MASH is our go-to animal hospital.

Down deposit was over a grand :/ But great staff and amazing vet. Dr. Alwin was very thorough and communicative. If ever an emergency you will feel very comfortable and confident with your furry babies here

I am eager to commend MASH and to praise Dr. Jodi Kuntz, whom I found to be a truly exceptional veterinarian; diligent, expert, patient and authoritative. Basically what MASH does is supplement the treatment of primary veterinarians with another layer of expertise; even with a good primary veterinarian, it's a big step up. I was so impressed with the standard of treatment and, in particular, with Dr. Kuntz's written follow-through, which was exceptionally helpful, thorough and rigorous. Now we have a real plan with which to address our cherished, elderly cat's issues and challenges and I am very grateful. I would never have received -- nor would it have been fair to expect -- this level of treatment and diagnosis from her primary veterinarians.

The compassion and care we received from Dr. Kotelko and the rest of the staff at MASH emergency was above and beyond. They made an unbelievable stressful and scary emergency with our cat as bearable as it could possibly be. I’m hoping whoever is reading this never has to experience a medical crisis with your beloved pet but if you do, I can’t recommended this place enough. On behalf of myself and our sweet little Rohit, thank you thank you thank you MASH for taking such good care of him.

One of our cats had a major health scare recently. A lot of alarming things that happened all at once that needed immediate and emergency care. MASH was able to take him in after quickly evaluating him. Through the miraculous work of the doctors and medical staff there, our cat made an incredible turnaround and we are so grateful to have him back home with us. He had a combination of a diabetic attack, kidney complications, fluid in the heart/lung area complications, and a UTI. It was a situation that became minute by minute, hour by hour, and day by day care. I won’t deny that the eventual bill was a bit to take in, but is is an emergency hospital with a team that is active 24 hours, 7 days a week. And every single penny was worth it in the end for the miraculous care and turnaround they were able to help make for Panthro. Always treated us and Panthro with love, compassion, respect, and were always able to talk us through details and the care they were giving. We will forever be grateful to the team at MASH. Thank you for the work that you do.

It's taken me four years to write thisI just couldn't do it before now. My precious boy, my beloved cat Meeko died four years ago today at the Metropolitan Animal Specialty Hospital. He was suddenly acting strange, and that morning, I first took him to our regular vet down the road, the Veterinary Care Center. They took him to the back right away and came out a few minutes later, telling me there was nothing they could do, and I'd have to take him to the emergency vet clinic down the road. I kind of knew then I probably wasn't coming home with Meeko. I took him to MASH, and a wonderful vet I cannot recall the name of right now took him to the back. She came out later and told me the truth: it was likely a heart problem, and while she could provide care, it wouldn't leave him with any meaningful amount of time. I made the most difficult decision I've made in my life so far and decided to let him go. They put us in a room so I could say goodbye, and gave us as much time as we needed together and gave us plenty of time for my friend and my roommate to get there. I know everyone in the clinic could hear my sobs and screams, and everyone was so respectful and kind. I was with him until the very end. The people at this clinic are angels, and if my boy was going to pass away that day, this was the best way I could have asked for. I am forever thankful for MASH's vets and staff. I appreciate everything the staff did more than I can express in words. Thank you for making the impossible as bearable as anyone could.

I cannot recommend MASH highly enough. My cat, Lady Grantham, came down with some kind of strange respiratory problem in mid-January (covid-19? Who could say...) that required him to be on oxygen, so our vet referred us to MASH and man am I glad they did. Our poor little kitty spent 12 days in an oxygen box while the amazing Dr. Becker and Dr. Cruikshank and staff tried every conceivable test to figure out what was wrong with our little guy. They and the entire nursing and front desk staff were professional, informative, patient, understanding, caring, and beyond friendly throughout the process. The facilities are sparkling clean, there have coffee, soft drinks, candy and Netflix in the waiting area, they sent us cute little text messages to show is how Gran was doing every morning, and they were always 100% clear about where we stood with the bill. Which, I will say, this place is not cheap. But, you are paying for the best vet care I, at least, have ever received. Moreover, when we were at a place where the bill almost stopped us from keeping our kitty alive, they helped us with a discount to allow him a few more days to heal. If not for that we would have had to put him down, but those couple days bought him the time he needed and he is now back to 100% his usual self. Everyone who works here cares passionately about animals and it shows across the board. While I hope you never need their emergency services, if you do they are the BEST.

I want to start off this review by being transparent and straight to the point; I never write reviews. I'm writing this review simply because this hospital deserves so much more recognition than I can put into words.
I especially want to thank: Dayna, Dr. Cruikshank and Brandi for saving my dog's life and working with us day in and day out to make us feel safe during a heartbreaking 4-day ICU hospitalization experience. Theo was gravely ill (to the point where owners would euthanize) and we thought we were going to lose him. Today, he's back at home and almost his normal self!
**Coming from a healthcare background myself, my professional and personal opinion is that this is not only the *best* hospital in the area, but the most skilled, professional and up-to-date with their veterinary medical literature and best practices.**
Your pet will be safe here without a doubt.

Our 3 yr old Bernese mountain dog Sanders was not eating, had very elevated white blood cells and was referred to MASH for urgent care. He was later diagnosed with acute leukemia. A short stick to draw when it comes to cancer. He was at MASH for a week and we are still bringing him back for treatments.
Every single doctor he’s seen, Dr.Guest, Dr. Ann, Dr. Avenick, Dr. Yi, Dr. Wong, and his oncologist Dr. Turner, all the nurses, Drs’ assistants, front desk, social worker at the hospital have been more than patient, compassionate, caring for our big boy and his humans. They are communicative and very organized (they don’t seem to miss a beat through the everyday transitions). Dr.Yi especially is going above and beyond for our baby, even when it is looking all bleak, we didn’t want to give up without doing everything possible within our power, and she accommodated all our requests and organized the staff to make sure Sanders is taken care of.
We are two late 30 somethings with no human children, our fur babies are our family. It was devastating to watch our big boy go from mischief to fighting for his life in a matter of days. He is still fighting, and we know he is having the right care. I’m extremely grateful for everyone at MASH, they made a terrible situation bearable, even hopeful. Thank you everyone at MASH. Sanders and his family thank you.

We had to take our 19 yr old shihtzu in the morning due to a seizure.
After searching far and wide for a place that would accept to see her, we were recommended MASH.
They send you paperwork to fill out all electronically as you wait or as you’re on your way. They’re still taking COVID precautions so they are curbside service- they take your baby in while you wait in the car.
Our visit was less than 3 hours including assessment and blood work.
Definitely not bad at all for an emergency hospital. The parking lot was completely full and they do prioritize urgent/emergent cases first.
The doctor (Shyvonne Mathias) was very thorough and honest in her assessment and recommendation. They don’t do anything without your approval of how much it’ll cost you.
The emergency visit was $155 consult fee.
The general health profile in house (blood work) was $278. These prices are all typical for an emergency hospital.
I’ll definitely come back here if needed.

On October 1st, I had to make the hardest decision any pet owner has to make. It was 2 in the morning when I brought my little girl, Moose in; she was struggling and I knew it was time to let her go. Dr. Kirk was the vet who on call that morning, and he walked me through what would happen and made sure that I had all the time I needed with her. She was in my arms when she slipped away from me gently and peacefully. I was with her until the moment passed. Thank you Dr. Kirk and all the staff at MASH for your caring support and concern for both me and my little girl. I will be forever grateful.

My chihuahua Pomeranian was suffering from congestive heart failure. I took her in at 10pm last night, and they reacted with care and urgency. They walked me through an extensive treatment plan to hospitalize her and the costs associated but also answered my questions about her quality of life moving forward and the risks involved. They supported me through the hardest decision of my life - to say goodbye to my best friend, to end her suffering in my arms. Nobody wants this outcome, but they made it as painless and humane as possible. I’m in awe of the staffs’ compassion, professionalism, and capabilities to handle situations like this. I will always remember and be grateful for what this team does. Thank you.

My roommate brought my cat Tiger Lilly in recently because she was acting funny in the middle of the night. Turned out she had some real issues and probably was not going to live a normal life again so we had to make a difficult decision.
The staff was spectacular and worked with us through the night. I can't thank them enough. I wish I remembered names but I'm sure they know who they are. Thank you! You all were the best.

My 5 m/o Bernedoodle puppy had eaten something bad and could not stop vomiting. She couldn't even have a drink of water without throwing up. Our regular vet was unable to see us until the next day and - since getting dehydrated can be dangerous for puppies - suggested that we go to MASH for urgent care.
I filled out the online paperwork whilst waiting in the car. After a while, a vet tech came to triage us, and we waited some more. (Frankly, I was quite happy to have my pup wait in the car with me so I could comfort her, rather than her be scared alone in a cage in the hospital. Understandably, they prioritize by urgency, so the wait can be pretty lengthy. From arrival until departure, I spent about 4 hours there.)
Finally someone came to take my puppy in, and shortly after, a very nice vet called me to discuss the treatment plan, options, and aftercare.
Dr. Yashari was awesome, and so was everyone else I met or spoke with - very professional and kind. I felt comfortable that my fur baby was in good hands and that she was receiving excellent care.
I was emailed the treatment plan and an itemized list of charges, and asked to review and approve everything before they would proceed. Everything was very clear and reasonable, and I never got that funny feeling that I was being overcharged or sold something that perhaps was not really needed (as has happened on a few occasions at other vet practices...).
Upon checkout I was given detailed discharge instructions (I appreciate that the most important parts were highlighted!) and the final invoice was emailed to me right away so that I could submit it to my insurance for reimbursement without any delays.
Last but not least, there is a small strip of turf at the edge of the parking lot and it was good to have my pup be able to go potty right there without having to leave the premises to look for a suitable place. And parking is FREEEE!!
All in all, my experience at MASH was as positive as could be expected with a sick pup, and I'm glad to now know that I no longer have to drive all the way to ASEC in West LA; that a perfectly capable Emergency and Specialty Hospital is right here in Hollywood.

On May 7 of this year I took my baby here because they were recommended by a other Vet Hospital since my dog need 24 hour care. My babe was mauled in the neck area by a neighbors pit bull. The minute I got there my babes was in respiratory distress they immediately took over stabilize him and comforted my mom and I while we waited. Unfortunately his wound were extensive and I was recommended humane euthanasia. He passed away that same night. But during his last few hours the staff and Veterinarian were amazing. They comforted me in my decision and gave me privacy. During the following week they sent me a beautiful organic card that can be buried to grow a plant . A couple weeks after that when it was time to pick up his ashes they were so comforting and kind and even asked me if I was okay. They treated my dog beautifully even under duress. I would recommend them for any kind of emergency services...also not that it matters but they give complimentary snacks, soda, coffee, and hot chocolate. Thank you for your amazing service and being so kind and caring with Twilight's passing <3

MASH is really the best. I have had to bring my older pup here 2x and both times the professionalism and care have been extraordinary. I also want to commend the Neurology department. My dog experienced a major spinal cord compression at C4/5 and was paralyzed and at risk for respiratory failure. Dr. O'Neill performed emergency surgery to relieve the compression and in 3 weeks he went from tetraplegic to being able to walk around the block.

MASH really came to my dogs and I rescue.
My dog needed to be OK'd by a cardiologist to be able to get surgery. Everyone in my surrounding are was booked until early November.
MASH gave me an appointment within the next two weeks, but luckily for me, they had a cancelation the next week and they called me to give me the spot. The vets, techs, staff, everyone was really nice and caring.

We brought our beloved cat to MASH on Sunday, where he was hospitalized. We found out on Monday (yesterday) that his kidneys were extremely swollen, and there were only two reasons that could be happening, both of which were not treatable. The vet recommended on Monday that we euthanize him due to his considerable suffering and the lack of treatment options available, and that even further testing could cause him considerable pain.
Throughout this heartbreaking experience the staff at MASH were kind, professional, and clear. When I pressed the vet about other options, any kind of treatment, she responded fully, clearly, and with real integrity and experience. From her manner and tone I could tell she knew what she was talking about, and was very much concerned for Sock's suffering and felt this was the best option. The whole interaction was as respectful and kind as it could have been. I'm very grateful for the whole team at MASH, for their evident care for animals, for being so kind to us and to Socks during the tragedy of losing him. We went with their recommendation and put him down. We miss him so much and we're so grateful that MASH made the whole experience as warm and gentle as it could be, given the circumstances.

I had to put down my dog and every single person at MASH was so kind and made the unbearable bearable. I am so grateful for their solemnity and how they honored my boy before he got his wings.

Our family vet recommended we take our Lexus a 14.5 year old American Cocker Spaniel to get an AB Ultrasound. Our boy is very sick, the xrays our vet took should a growth in his stomach area. She (our local vet) also said he had liquid collecting around his heart. So I took Lexus in on Saturday Nov 17 2018. I had an appointment for the service. I met Dr. Vivian Yau, she was filling in for another vet. She explained everything clearly. The prices were what I expected, for a specialty Hospital. Not SUPER EXPENSIVE but ok. Dr.Yau took Lexus in the back and about 30 minutes later I was called into a room. Dr.Yau came in a sat down across from! She was SO KIND and understanding. She had COMPASSION! She didn't try to SELL me any additional services she didn't try to give me hope when there wasn't any. She explained to me and my partner who was on the phone, that our Son Lexus is terminal we need to do what we were hoping wasn't the needed. Our local Vet will do the service on Monday, 11/19/2018. We have several animals and have used many different vets over the years, M.A.S.H is WONDERFUL. Dr.Yau was so kind and the front desk staff were very kind also! Thank you MASH and DR.Yau for treating our son "JD's Shooting Star of Lexus" with kindness, love and respect! I highly recommend the services offered at MASH in Los Angeles, Ca. Respectfully, J & D "Live on Lexus" "Faster, Faster, Faster"

Our poor girl was really struggling with a cough and shortness of breath and MASH listened to all of our concerns and acted quickly. I knew an emergency vet on a Sunday would be expensive but it was actually less than what I had expected. And we did have to wait some time (again, expected) but far less than what I was quoted at other places. Every person I talked to on the phone, from the receptionist to the doctors were kind, caring and didn’t make me feel like a crazy dog mom. Our girl is now doing so much better and I’m so grateful for MASH.

They took care of my dog for the TPLO surgery on her right leg. She did heal well but man, MASH charges extra for every little thing and the surgery was way more expensive than what my other friends were charged (even for those that went to MASH themselves just a year ago). You would think if you’re shelling out $7-$8K for the surgery, that price would at least include a follow up or x-rays.
Unfortunately, my dog got a tear on her other leg and needed TPLO surgery again. We found a different spot in the valley that does it for a lot cheaper, was more comprehensive, and definitely made it feel like they cared about our baby more. If I had known about this other hospital in the first place, I would’ve skipped MASH entirely.
One difference we did notice is that MASH has you keep your dog overnight at their spot. The other place we took our baby to gave us the green light to take her home just few hours after her surgery. I’m not sure which was more necessary or maybe the recovery time isn’t as long because it’s her 2nd go around with this, but we definitely saw this reflected in the cost difference and my baby seems to be healing smoothly.
MASH definitely does the job, but you can find more reasonable spots elsewhere.

One of the best experiences for one of the worst days of my life.
My cat had been acting off and not eating, so I called MASH to ask for their availability. They told me they were at capacity but gave me a time to call back for availability. The receptionist was kind of short with me but it wasn't that horrible considering it was 4 am in the morning. I called back when they said they would potentially have some availability and they started my cat's chart while I was on the phone.
When my cat was seen, Dr. Fording was amazing and provided plenty of information as well as options for treatment. The tech was more than happy to break down the costs that were presented so I could make the best decision for my cat. It was expensive, don't get me wrong, but it's also a specialty hospital so that's to be expected.
In the end, I unfortunately had to make the decision to put my cat to sleep. The process was the most ideal for this scenario. They let you sit with your cat as long as you need, and not once did I feel rushed. Their grief counselor, Rebecca, was fantastic. She explained everything so clearly and helped set expectations for what was about to happen. She was also more than happy to stay during the process if I had wished (I ended up wanting to do it privately but I was appreciative that she offered). After, they let me take my time as well and, again, I never felt pressured to move along.
Overall, a very amazing experience for my needs. This will definitely be where I head if I ever need emergency vet care.

The doctor's and staff here are wonderful. Dr. Strom did an amazing job on my girl. This is the only hospital I will bring my pets to. They are so different from other pet hospitals.

I am so grateful for the the staff at MASH and the wonderful care they provided to my 1-year-old cat Mango. She ate a hair tie and I had no idea what to do so I called and brought her in right away. The vet, vet's assistant and techs were so helpful and reassuring during this very stressful incident. I could tell how incredibly hard they were all working to provide the care she needed while also juggling other emergency patients. They performed a procedure to safely remove the hair tie and I was able to bring her home the same day. She recovered quickly and is back to her normal happy self. Thank you MASH staff for taking such good care of my kitty, I truly can't thank you enough.

I used MASH a few days ago when my cat had some issues. First off, they are busy as hell. The wait times can be 3 4 or 9 hours. Call and get an estimate before you try to go or you'll be upset. I tried to get in...failed. Through the night I kept calling for time-frames...and I was able on day 2 to get in within the same hour I called. When I got there they explained they were saving some trauma pets and I'd be delayed. The service and vet talk was ideal and my cat Snuggy is rocking now. It's busy...they don't have instant care ability probably. But if you call it's possible.

I feel so lucky to have found MASH. Dr. Williams and her staff took amazing care of my cat. They were able to get her in on short notice. They were thoughtful, communicative, caring, and extremely professional. Dr. Williams took the time to explain everything to me thoroughly, her staff was always available to answer my questions, and I felt like my cat was in such good hands. Everything exceeded my expectations and I can't recommend this place highly enough.

We were referred to MASH from our veterinarian here in Bakersfield. Our dog Cooper had emergency surgery and unfortunately needed a bigger surgery and we were sent to MASH. From the moment we arrived we felt that our dog would be in good hands. Dr. Strom and staff were always so kind and kept in contact with us regarding Coopers recovery. Cooper was discharged today and we are so grateful to the great care that everyone gave to Cooper! How can we ever say thank you enough, you all are angels and we will always hold a special place in our hearts for you! Thank you for saving Cooper!!!

Sadly we lost our best friend a JRT named Bexar after he suffered a stroke and was brought here for emergency treatment. There was little to be done but the level of attention, promptness, concern, care, empathy, urgency and most of all compassion were some of the best in pet health care I've ever received in 53 years of being a pet owner.Upon arriving I hadn't even cleared the doorway before a office worker recognized the critical situation at hand and called the medical staff to alert them to our presence, before even saying a word to them. Before I was fully sat down the veterinarian tech arrived to take my dying friend to urgent care. My partner and I were immediately taken to a private room and offered comforts of beverages and privacy. After Bexars situation was hopeless Dr Ong gave us choices but helped us to make those difficult decisions in the best care of our pet. We were permitted into the procedure room to witness his fading life signs. We permitted us to stay with our boy to make sure his last moments were comfortable, peaceful and with us and not alone. My partner held him during the euthanasia and afterwards we were given as much final private time with him as we wanted to say our good byes to him. They made the final necessary arrangements for us as well. Of most noteworthy and important services that were provided to us, three weeks after, Dr Ong granted us a private meeting with her at the office so we could discuss what happened to our little guy. The day of his demise, we were so confused, hurt and mostly in shock, that we couldn't ask the right questions and it was good of the Doctor to give us that chance at a somewhat more peaceful time. I couldn't recommend a better facility and staff, anywhere. I'm sure they save more lives than don't, this was just a very severe situation, and there was little to no hope from the beginning.

The staff here are amazing. My dog was hit by a car (hit-and-run) and they took us in immediately. They were so kind and professional, it made a difficult night much easier. Dog is fine fyi -- back to his normal crazy self the next day. Thank you, MASH.

I took my rescue kitten in to the emergency room at MASH last night. She was being seen and treated by her primary vet, but based on the amount of distress that she was in, I knew she couldn't wait until the morning--we needed to go to the vet now. MASH was there for us.
Everyone at the clinic, from staff at the front, to the nurses and technicians, to Dr. Ahn who saw her on a very busy night, were wonderful and gave my kitten the care that she needed (they also were very kind to a trying-really-hard-not-to-cry owner). They admitted her right away and took her to the back for care and testing. Although the wait for me was long, the waiting room was comfy and supplied free drinks.
Dr. Ahn was very kind and gently informed me what was going on with my kitten and cautioned that it would be an uphill battle. She patiently answered my questions and we were discharged with medications and instructions. Sadly, my kitten's battle would be over later that evening spending her final moments being cuddled and knowing that she was loved despite her difficult start to life.
Although it is with a broken heart that I am writing this review, there is comfort in knowing that I did all that I could--it quiets the "what if" voices a little. If you get the sense that your furry friend needs to be seen immediately, please take them here. Yes, emergency animal medicine is expensive, pets are expensive and that's what insurance and Care Credit are for: to financially help you out when things take a turn for the worst.
And finally for a shameless PSA: please spay or neuter your pets. Although I dearly loved my kitten for the short time that she was in my life, ultimately she was the product of irresponsible pet owners and paid a tough price. I am glad that I could try and undo some of that wrong during her short life.

My pup was admitted with a broken femur yesterday morning at around 11 a.m. Today I received a call from the surgeon and hopefully she will get the surgery she need done today. Although it is quite expensive I haven’t had a negative experience. I have been updated about how my baby has been doing, about what procedure will be done and possible complications that are very rare. Once my baby has her surgery I will update my review depending on how things go from there. As of now everything has been great
UPDATE: it has now been almost a week after my dogs surgery and honestly their attentiveness and customer service is off the charts! They answered all my questions informed me well about my dogs after care and were just amazing !

I’m so grateful for the thoughtful and thorough care MASH gave my sweet senior pup. It might be a bit pricier than other places, but I promise, you get what you pay for. My 12 year old was diagnosed with pneumonia, which was missed by 2 other vets. Had I gone to MASH in the first place, it would have saved me the stress and cost of other vet expenses. Not to mention, they took such amazing care of my pup! The peace of mind I had leaving him in their care overnight was worth every penny. They are transparent and professional and truly amazing!

We have been here twice, once they saved my baby's life and were extremely helpful by explaining the problem with her health and the procedure. Not to mention how the doctor called me personally to update us on her status after the surgery.
The second time, almost two years later, the service and comprehension they showed toward my family and I, honestly surpassed my expectations. We brought our baby in for what we thought would be an emergency procedure and it turned out the best thing for her after 15 years and many tests, was to put an end to her pain. I couldn't imagine going through this process anywhere else.

So professional and helped us through a very rough time with my Son's Best Friend Bruin!!. Thank you
The Unique Space
I've never left a review but I cannot say enough good things about MASH, so don't think twice about coming here. I've had to come here 3 times during the pandemic... Twice for our little dog, who they helped fix up, and for our big dog who got sick out of the blue (a rare and fast leukemia) and died less then 48 hours later. It was extremely traumatic for us but the doctors and staff here made a heartbreaking experience as easy as possible for us, and we will forever be grateful to them. They have private rooms for you to spend time with your pet and say goodbye, and even have a grief counselor. Everything about the experience and care from the team was incredible, from their communication to education about what was happening to the sweet card we got in the mail afterward.

My 11 year old Boxer was in distress. While the diagnosis was not what I wanted to hear, Dr. Gilbert communicated all of the information clearly and patiently. She allowed me to make the choice that was best for my sweet girl. I will get a little more time with her beautiful spirit.

Went through 12 clinics before being recommended to MASH and they didn't disappoint. They were able to take in my 15 week shih tzu for an emergency. Process was easy, staff was professional and polite. Highly recommend them.
Thank you to the staff at MASH

Dr. Avenick is the best. This is a 24 hour ER with highly trained specialists. And it's in Hollywood. Thank God! Dr. Avenick saved my baby boy. And had just done the same for my next door neighbor.
Olya Sivirina
First time at the pet emergency clinic. Upon arrival was told the wait would be 2-4 hours, but it actually took under 2. Also they didn't push for anything unnessesary but I guess we had an easy case, although it didn't look easy for us when we saw our dog being lethargic and having whole body spasms all of a sudden.. What can I say, professional experience and attention to details definitely makes a huge difference when it comes to medical care either for pets or humans. I thank the whole team of evening shift on Feb 16, 2022. I am truly thankful for you guys being efficient, professional, gentle and humane. Our girl is back to normal now.

The staff responded quickly to me in my emergency, as my vet's hospital was closed on MLK Day. They were very kind and seemed caring. I was disappointed however, in the decision they made on the treatment chosen for my cat. He should have had stitches immediately because his wound was really bad. The cone given him was not the correct size at all (huge so he couldn't eat or drink) and the assistant did not check to see if all of the medicine was put in the bag. It made the wait longer while she went in to get it. And they recorded the wrong weight for him! I wondered why. Was it laziness that they didn't want to stitch up the wound? Too busy? I knew something was not right, as I followed the MASH protocol. Fortunately, my vet took care of my cat with the proper sutures, a cone that stayed on his little head and care. She wondered, too, why that decision was made. Leaving a wound open too long in a worst case scenario could cause an amputation to be necessary. I would say if you have to go here, go because they mean well, but be careful. I got a not so cheap vet bill for treatment that lacked.

I brought my dog in for an emergency that luckily turned out to be minor. The staff was so kind and efficient, even though they were busy. I came to them after hearing good things from a friend. Very happy with their service.

I had to take my 9 week old puppy to the ER since she was unresponsive. MASH immediately started treating her while I was gathering fund to pay for the treatment. She was in the hospital for more than a day and all of the shift doctors did not hesitate to answer my phone as many times as needed. I called the hospital consistently every hour to get an update on my pup and they answered every time.
When time came to make the toughest decision of my life and request euthanizing my puppy the hospital took care of her with utmost care and went a step beyond to console me and make me feel better.
Without asking, the hospital had reduced by bill significantly. After we put our pup down, the hospital social service group called us to let us know they're here for us and I could call them anytime if I ever needed the extra support to cope.
Will definitely recommend using their service. I do get the feel that the people working here genuinely love animals.

MASH was beyond wonderful to our family as we recently had to say goodbye to our 16-year old beloved dog “Jimmy”. We came in scared and devastated for our little guy but amazingly left in a peaceful state of mind. The staff and doctors were honest, kind and did everything they could for our pet. Thank you.

I came over to Mash tonight when I discovered my 18lb terrier ingested something he definitely shouldn’t have. They were so responsive, he was seen right away, and took care of everything. Not only that, but as I was waiting in the parking lot (can’t enter due to covid) I struck up a conversation with one of the team members who worked there as he was arriving for his shift. He asked what my pet’s name was and made a point of going inside, checking on him, and coming back out to share a status update. Each and every staff I spoke to, from the intake nurse to the vet over the phone, were so exceedingly polite and caring. I honestly cannot say enough great things!!!

Dr. Jeremy J. O'Neill is by far the best Veterinarian my dog, Zoro, has had. Metropolitan Animal Specialty Hospital (MASH) saved my dog’s ability to walk and overall improved the quality of his well being. Dr. O’Neill’s expertise/experience is visibly apparent as he helped us navigate how to treat our dog to the best of our abilities. We are so grateful that we had him to treat our Zoro!
Honestly, this place is amazing! Dr. O'Neill is literally the dog whisperer and he isn’t like any other pet specialist. He truly is understandable, compassionate, knowledgeable, and he truly cares for your pet and you as the pet parent. Before going to MASH, we were so worried about our little maltipoo Zoro as we had no idea what was wrong with his hind legs. We had no idea if it was a spinal problem or something neurological. Dr. O’Neill not only took the time to find the issue, but patiently explained it to us, helped us understand options, and just helped and guided us through everything until our Zoro got better. I can proudly say, our Zoro is healthy and back to being his energetic, crazy, playful self because of Dr. O’Neill- because Zoro was under his care. We are so appreciative and grateful for Dr. O’Neill’s expertise.
MASH is just incredible. The positive and welcoming atmosphere is something you will not find anywhere else. I highly recommend them.

No one goes to an emergency center under good circumstances. I have been to mash twice. Once with a cat that I was watching for a neighbor. And once when my dog was mortally wounded.
I'm not saying other emergency hospitals are not responsive. But mash is incredibly fast and on top of the situation. What impressed me the most about mash is the level of compassion that every single person that works there displays. And when I say everyone, I'm talking about from receptionist to doctor to techs.
I would have no compunction to bring an animal here for any diagnostic, surgical or ER services.

We had two pet emergencies and have had to bring our dog to MASH both times. They we're able to squeeze us in even while fully booked. I can't thank them enough for treating our dog and being so kind and helpful. From reception, to vet techs and veterinarians, all so friendly and professional. Honestly can't thank them enough.
Shelli Pruett
We rushed our little dog over to MASH, which unlike other hospitals was actually open 24/7. He had been poisoned and was very very ill. Dr. Wong and her assistants were so kind and took him in for tests and treatment right away. When she spoke to me I could tell she knew exactly what to do. Our beloved pet could have easily died that day but they got him through. We came to this place because of the good reviews and they were well deserved. Thank you for saving our doggie!

I hate to even have to write this review. My cat Manny who had a chronic illness his entire life got really bad over the weekend. I took him to my vet earlier in the day and they recommended euthanasia. I selfishly didn't want to do it because I couldn't be present (covid restrictions). I scheduled an in home session for the next day. However when i got home from my initial visit my cat got worse to the point he could barely breathe and was suffering. I called some of my local 24 hour places/emergency places and I don't think I spoke to one person who cared about my cat laboring to breathe. I was given wait times of 5 hours and again I explained the labored breathing/wheezing. Long story short I found Mash Vet online. Wow-from the start they were AMAZING-compassionate, accommodating...Daisy what a sweetheart, she took care of helping me get everything filled out and getting my cat in ASAP. They wrapped my cat in these beautiful blankets and took us to a quiet room with dimmed lights and water fall statues. The doctor she was amazing too, she explained everything, gave us no time limit on saying bye to our cat both before and after the procedure. It was the worst situation but I am glad I came here. They made it into a very peaceful and loving transition for my cat and me.

The quality of care here is top notch. They assisted my dog after he was bitten multiple times by a dog much larger than him; it was a nightmare. Yet the folks at MASH were calm, cool and collected. They made me feel at ease. Despite the difficulties surrounding COVID, they were communicative and seemed to take every step necessary to provide excellent care for my dog. It’s worth mentioning that my dog is now healing faster than anticipated and is well on his way to a full recovery. I would recommend this establishment for anyone in need of emergency animal care.

My 6 months old puppy had serious allergic reactions, swollen face, heavy breathing, and extremely pink skin. First of all, the person who was helping me on the phone was very kind and tried her best to take my puppy inside. She tried her best to ensure that my puppy will be taken care asap and eventually led me to stop freaking out. Thankfully, my puppy just needed some shots for her allergies, and I was able to get her back in an hour or an hour and half, which was so much less than what I expected. Although her treatments were pretty simple, I was surprised that the cost for her treatment was not crazy even I went for "emergency walk-in". Definitely recommend this place.

It's very comforting to know that a place as competent as MASH exists. We've had to take our puppy to their internists and surgeons a few times in the past year and every interaction with the vets and techs have been nothing short of excellent. Dr. Cole and Dr. Cabrera specifically have been wonderful. Service is quick, efficient, pleasant and trustworthy. You definitely feel like your pet is in good hands when they're at MASH.

I am not exactly sure I can put into words how appreciative I am of these hard working individuals. I have a senior pup. They saved him. I brought him home and made a huge mistake, no fault of theirs and they saved him again. This is after they saved him from his cancer. One thing I will say is I have seen the general public mistreat them and they don't deserve that. Be nice to them. They don't deserve your abuse, but even if you do, they will help your fury son or daughter. I wish I could give these wonderful people 10 stars because they truly deserve it.
Naomi Menezes
I have been here 5+ times and each time was a stellar experience. My dog is old with a sensitive stomach, and has a habit of eating things he shouldn’t. He’s gone through obstruction surgery here as well as overnight observations multiple times for gastrointestinal issues. The staff here is stellar and communicative and very helpful in explaining the different options for my pet. They have really figured out how to smoothly operate during covid, I think it is better care than I would get if I went to the ER :)
LaDreeya M. Taylor, MPA
MASH took good care of my precious one after I found out he had to be treated for a heart condition. I was a nervous wreck and they calmed my anxiety by being available and ready to answer every question I had. The tests and treatment was a bit expensive but money doesn't matter when it concerns your loved one. It's worth knowing that my baby was well taken care of. If the prices were a little more reasonable I would've given them 5 stars.
Dirk Wallace
Great 24 hour pet emergency hospital. Brought my kitten here on a Saturday at midnight. Very good Doctors and technicians.
Nicholas Hua
Their team of professionals have always been there for my dogs. One dog had consumed a cloth toy that obstructed his small intestine. Sure enough the surgery went well and my baby is back to his normal self. Would always come here cuz they're reliable and talented and definitely do their best.
Stephanie Alcaraz
I took my dog in for an emergency visit. The facility was at max capacity but they were able to take my dog in and treat him. They carefully evaluated him and took him in. Dr. Kirk and his staff were very professional and caring with our situation. Thank you everyone!
Nikita
Amazing people work there. It’s never a pleasure to have a sick pet, but they did everything to make it as easy as possible for us!
Nicole Lucero
Everyone here is so nice and they took great care of my fur baby! We came in thinking he may have cancer which they ruled out, but he needed to have his spleen removed and that really scared me due to his old age. I feel like they really took their time to explain things to me and put my mind at ease and they did so with alot of compassion, unlike other places where I often feel like they are rushing me out the door and could care less. Parking can be a pain, so take advantage of their valet parking...it's free but make sure you tip :)
Tina-elena Martinez
These are specialists and you will notice the difference from beginning to end. You will receive one on one special attention as well as very knowledgeable staff and doctors. When it comes to anything medical, we always try to seek specialist as we have a very old senior dog that is also a teacup. This was our second visit, we returned as we had a great first experience 3 years ago when our dog needed an unexpected emergency surgery.
Eileen Ho
Our dog was really old and having multiple seizures within hours of each other. They made the process of helping our baby pass on without suffering really smooth. They were very caring and gave us all the space we needed.
Allison Bills
Mash is awesome. They were kind & their staff was detailed & thorough. They were recommended to us by our primary care vet for an emergency & we have used them for a few more emergencies as well as couple of surgeries, one recently that could not be scheduled at the time we needed with our primary vet. They are open 24 hours & someone always answers the phone, which is so nice when you're worried about your pet's condition. They were able to look at photos I sent them late one night via email, post surgery & someone got right back to me about them to assure me that the sutures looked normal. I found them to be thoughtful, professional, and empathetic to the animals we brought to see them. Once we brought them one dog who had found and secretly swallowed a palm nut that was lodged in her system, and when Mash was looking at her x-ray, they discovered that her cancer had come back. While that's a bummer, it was crucial info. We wouldn't have known otherwise & because they caught it, we have been able to give her treatments through Mash's internal medicine clinic that have helped us keep her around & comfortable much longer than anyone had expected. She's still the fastest one in the pack. We will always think of Mash when we need emergency help going forward.

Best doctors around! Parking is a little rough and your bill will be crazy expensive, but if you care about your animal, need a specialist, or have an emergency then this is the place to bring your pet.

i wish i could give this place 100 stars ! there are no words to describe this amazing hospital .A huge shout out to De Jacinro who operated on my dog. She was the best of the best and who after took the time to explain me everything she did in detail . Thank you to the amazing social worker who literally did not stop trying to comfort me and my mom during a very terrible time . Thank you to Edgar who was so concerned and kept trying to find me an earlier appointment for my dog. Thank you everyone ! you are the best of the best thank you

My dog got run over by a car and we rushed him over to the nearest hospital that was open, which was this one. I called saying that we would be arriving shortly and they asked all the right questions and gave me time to calm down. They assisted us right away and reassured us everything would be okay. They called regularly to give us updates and to give us treatment options. It was extremely expensive, but I would do anything for my dog. Overall excellent and I could tell that they really did care.

I had to rush our dog to MASH last night (she had a severe allergic reaction due to her yearly vaccine) and from the very start to the end, we experienced nothing but kind, animal-loving, professionals that took the necessary steps to quickly and effectively bring my dog back to a healthy state. Dr. Kelly gave us update calls in the ER room regarding what's exactly going on and what needs to be done ASAP. A big thank you to the amazing staff at MASH. Our Coco is home, safe and sound.
Jessica Barnes
My cat, 4yrs old neutered male, stopped eatting for two maybe three days. I was so scared for him. They were the only pet hospital that would see him and they saw him quickly. It did take a couple of hours to get everything done, but what can you expect from an ER vet. Don't come for routine shots, that is not what an animal hospital is for.

I don’t even know where to begin. I had a puppy that developed epilepsy out of no where, and it became severe. Doctor O’Neill, Christina, and ALL the people at M.A.S.H. took the best care of my little boy, and tried so hard to treat him. The compassion and love they showed my boy made things just that much easier. And when my little boy passed, Rebecca and the rest of the staff were there to make sure everything was taken care of. They were so kind and understanding of our loss. I could never give enough stars to this hospital. I thank them eternally, from the bottom of my heart for everything they did for me and my family. 1 million stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Max Nicholson
Dr. Wong was absolutely amazing. I brought my old boy Mitsy in, and she could not have been better. She was so responsive, sweet, and did a fantastic job explaining everything that was happening. I wish we had better results, but Dr. Wong could not have kinder. I genuinely felt that she cared about my guy and our situation.
The techs were also great. Sandy, who was answering the phone when I dropped him off, helped me figure out what to do and how to drop him off and was very kind as I stressed out.
Shaun “Madness” Manus
Wow. Full fledged hospital that can handle anything! you need. One of our furry family members has been having bowel problems and we have had a hard time figuring it out. We have been slowly figuring it out and we aren't quite there. But they have been slowly moving forward, in a good way, instead of ordering all kinds of tests at once.
This is the first time I've used a hospital for our pets and so it seems to be expensive, but I'm not disappointed. It is a hospital and not a vet! And some of the tests needed aren't just x-rays.
They are diligent about calling and maintaining records so if info is needed and your Dr isn't available it is easy to access the information.
I'm super happy to have found a hospital that is honest and trustworthy.

I arrived late evening on a Saturday. Having explained my cat’s symptoms over the phone, we were tended to almost immediately when we arrived. Dr. Diane Jacinto provided me the diagnosis in thorough lay terms. Spencer had an enlarged heart, a murmur was detected and blot clots had gone down his legs which immobilized him and causing a great deal of pain. Short and long term prognosis was not favorable. I chose to say good-bye to my boy.
The staff at Metropolitan showed a lot of compassion. I was given a carton of water and many tissues without having to ask. When he was brought to me before his euthanasia, he was wrapped in a small comforter and placed in a pet bed. They gave me as much time as I needed.
This facility is clean. No odors unlike my regular facility. And priced fairly reasonable for being open 24/7. I am grateful that I was able to find them by chance. I plan to change up veterinary care to this facility for my two remaining cats.
Chane Buck
Everyone at MASH is incredibly helpful and kind. Every time I called to check up on my cat or ask a question about her care MASH patiently took the time to explain how she was doing and I was never on hold for more than a couple of minutes.
I first arrived with my cat in a panic late at night. There were a number of other people there but MASH was very organized. They quickly took all of the animals back and were calm the entire time.

Our dog was hit by a car and it was late so our primary vet was closed. We called MASH and they were so understanding and kind, and so gentle with our dog. Thankfully the dog is okay, but I’m glad we have such a good quality emergency vet near us. Every single staff member was a pleasure to interact with. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

Fellow Pet Parents! When my lovely kitty Fig was literally dying in front of my eyes I called MASH they helped me through her heart failure and I brought her to MASH the night she passed 10.6.20. Tonight (10.31.21) My 11 year old MiniShnau (living with stage four heart disease) had a seizure, recovered and I brought him to MASH. Again they were kind, professional, and because of them, I was able to bring my L.J.home to live as he may until his time comes. Grateful MASH is always open, and in the neighborhood. I hope none of you ever need to visit an animal special hospital but it you do MASH is here for you, be well!

Saved my dog’s life! This place is excellent for TRUE life or death emergencies! Thank you for taking such good care of Cashew!

Hi,
I didn't visit this facility, but I had the most amazing experience with Edgar from Ophthalmology department. I called desperate because our dog needed to be seen asap due to his glaucoma and cataract. We couldn't get an earlier appointment anywhere. When I called MASH I was really upset and I think I was almost crying when Edgar said he will see what he can do and was able to squeeze me in the same day. At the end we were able to go to see a local vet and I cancelled the appointment, but his compassion and willingness to help was absolutely outstanding.
Dixon Matthews
My biggest fear was the bill and I was right. Very expensive, but in hind sight. Every pet by every staff member was treated with the best possible care. From the compassion and professionalism makes this ER for pets the same value that Childrens Hospital is to a child. Even the follow up calls and info sent to our vet was all them and immediate. We didn't have to call to push the process along. I hope we never have to go here again, but if we (knock on wood) do. It will be here.
Yvonne Montes
Everyone was so kind and helpful!
I had two different Dr's ask what the problem with my little Shinobu was to ensure that the issue gets solved.
They kept apologizing for the long wait time because they were a little backed up but my boy was sent in so quickly and came out just as fast!
After I got him back the doctor went over everything again and gave me advice on what to do next time and even went as far as to giving me advice on getting him a regular vet in order to avoid spending too much time and money at an animal hospital (like this one).
Everyone was great, fast, caring of my 12 week pup, and understanding and hearing of my concerns.
Mark Jacobson
It may be strictly because of their COVID protocols, but there seemed to be an understaffing and a lapse in the chain of communication. Our situation was deemed somewhat non-emergency compared to other patients, but an explanation of timeline and their triage process upfront would go a long way to assuaging concerns. Highly recommend having pet insurance prior to any visit here - it would get costly VERY quickly.

My husband and I just adopted a puppy. Within a week of adopting him, he developed a terrible cough, became incredibly lethargic, and was having trouble breathing. We took him to MASH and all of the staff members (front desk, techs, vets) were so professional. They were sensitive to our needs as owners, but clearly most focused on the well-being of our furry baby. They explained the situation, gave us realistic estimates (low end and high end), took great care of our puppy, and gave us updates at least every 12 hours. We have our baby back at home now with clear instructions on how to continue to care for him as he recovers. We are so grateful!

I summarize it in two words!
THE BEST!!
My experience has been a very pleasant one with VCA, my little one's surgeon, the doctors, the technicians, words cannot describe how loving, caring and compassionate they all are at this place.
My 10 year old maltopoo had ivdd surgery on September 4th, the prior before admitting him to VCA he didnt have deep pain sensation, i was loosing hope, trying to be optimistic,
As soon as i admitted my little angel, they were all about him and his well being, the surgeon Dr Oliphant called me and gave me my options, and I decided to go the surgery route which will give my (Feedo) that's my dogs name.... a chance to walk again.
The surgery went very well, i got called twice a day and really happy updates everyday.
Feedo is home now, he uses the bathroom on his own, he's taking steps and walking to his water bowl, im going to start physical therapy as soon as i get the green light from his surgeon Dr. Oliphant.
So far so good!
Big thanks to Dr Oliphant, and all the staff that were with us during this ordeal, and were so caring, patient, understanding, knowledgeable, and compassionate.
My hats go off to each and everyone!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

If you are looking for an ER for your pet, I would highly recommend this location.
I am sooo grateful my vet's office referred me to MASH when my puppy had an emergency today and I found her in her crate, her jaw stuck wide open and her teeth hinged around the wire door :(
The MASH receptionist picked up the phone after a very brief wait, she helped me stay calm and slowly/clearly gave me the address, and let me know that my puppy would be taken back asap.
I was able to find a meter right next to the hospital, but they do have valet right in front. The signs clearly point you in the direction of the ER.
The staff behind the desk was so helpful and stayed calm, and I could tell they were all concerned about helping my dog ASAP.
My pup was screaming and clearly in a lot of pain, and the staff at MASH took her back and helped her immediately. I was panicking so I don't remember much, but the facility and waiting room looked very clean and they seemed to be well staffed. And they did not even charge us for the visit. I was shocked and so grateful.
Thank you SO much to all the staff that was working there on Aug 29 around 12:45 pm.
Being a first time dog mom, I was panicking inside, but I knew we were in good hands from the moment we got to the ER.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Jamie Perdue
I experienced a fur baby's mom worst nightmare and my sweet baby was hit by a car. I rushed her to MASH @ 6565 Santa Monica BLVD (Thank God for friends who think to research a 24/7 care institute in the moment of panic), they immediately took my baby to their back area and assessed her. I was panicking thinking these would be my last moments with my girl. About an hour after waiting, crying, being nurtured and calmed by their nurses, I was met by their onsite doctor, Andrew. He told me that she would live, and that this was not only a blessing to be thankful for but a miracle. He prescribed me two medications, for pain and inflammation And I returned home. I made sure to followup within 24hours at the hospital to make sure there was no internal bleeding. Doctor Andrew was there, saw my baby, and made sure she was healing okay post-accident. The reason I am writing this review is because, the entire team working that night shift at MASH on the Sunday I brought my girl in deserves recognition. Not just for their extreme care and understanding to the pain I must have been feeling, but because they truly showed care and love, genuine true empathy not only to me but in being a part of saving my dog's life as well. I consider myself blessed, and this team will forever remain a part of my testimony. Thank you Metropolitan Animal Speciality Hospital for being there for Dallas, and me!!! -a happy dog mom, continually.

Sept 28 2018. I'm so very happy I found this animal hospital.
I had an emergency with my kitty at 3 AM. Everyone on staff from the moment I called to the moment I left was caring, professional, and experienced staff. I had no reservations that they cared about my situation and about my cat, which is as important as the medicine to me.
This is going to sound like an ad but trust me I'm just very happy. They had (have):
- 24 hour care
- clean beautiful facility
- private rooms
- coffee, water and drinks (provided - wow in this day and age?)
Having had a horrible experience at another emergency vet in Studio City, I was willing to drive a distance to find a Vet that is experienced and caring. This IS the place.
Thank you so very much MASH!

One of the ladies in the front office just seemed generally annoyed about being there and having to do their job. Id give 5 stars if it wasn't for one lady in particular. The dr that assessed our dog was incredibly kind and went above and beyond. She had pyometra and he gave an ultra sound and treated her until we could find a place to afford the next day. Very short wait for an emergency vet as well.

My experience was the best they offer a loan to pay for your consultation, it is a bit expensive but they are all very good at what they do. My cost was $ 1,300 and I paid cash. I applied for the loan and I was able to qualify and they gave me the money back that I payed the previous day thank you to everyone my dog Mipsi appreciate what you guys did for her

We left a place in Hollywood near the Cole st DMV and went directly to Mash. Idk why but my dog was cartoonishly afraid to return to place. Every dog in the lobby was overtly terrified of staff and it made me sick.
When we picked up our Shiba from Mash, she was jumping and happy. Even after just having surgery. She likes the nurses and goes with them without any coaching. The employees actually smile/laugh.. The difference is night and day. I don't feel sick when I leave her there. She doesn't even cry. I'll never take her anywhere else.
Thank you!

I can't say enough good things. My 10-year-old border collie Jane had a severe sprain in her rear hock and had to have arthrodesis (surgery to fuse bones). Jane is a rescue (since she was a feral puppy) and is terrified of strangers, but Dr. Strom and his team were always kind and professional and positive. The surgery was expensive and it took her awhile to recover, and there were some challenging early days and a lot of follow-up visits for re-bandaging etc. Plus this was going on during Covid lockdowns, so the hospital staff had an extra layer of challenges on top of having a difficult patient. I was initially apprehensive about having the surgery done here --or anywhere for that matter. Reviews of ANY veterinary group always contain positives and negatives. I'm happy to say this experience was a giant positive, and my "difficult patient" is now able to run and go on hikes and live a joyous life with her two dog sisters. Dr. Strom promised me she would regain about 75-80% use of her rear foot, and he delivered on that promise. And he was never anything short of calm, kind, and efficient -- along with his staff. Also a shoutout to Dr. Williams, who also consulted and gave me hope and confidence that the surgery would be a success.

This is a 5-star review updated from a previous 5-star. Dr. Bianco and team have provided amazing, sometimes life-saving care to 4 of our dogs in the emergency department and internal medicine clinic. The staff is well trained and their equipment is cutting edge. Highly recommend and hope you don't need their services!

I had an emergency at 2am with my cat Bonkers. He had had a stroke and in terrible pain. Also was paralyzed in back legs. We had never been here before but was only vet opened nrsr6 us. He was seen right away and given pain meds. The lovely woman vet explained all options in a way that both my husband and I could really understand what had happened. No pressure at all. We were able to say our goodbyes. This staff was absolutely compassionate be and caring. That God they were there in the middle of the night. Thank you, regards Gwen and Brian Green

MASH is the absolute best in town. My pup has been to see the dermatology team (Dr. Schmidt and Tammie are wonderful, caring and love my dog as I do) as well as the surgery and emergency team. I have had nothing but amazing experiences at MASH and have never felt pressured to do anything other than what is exactly right for both my dog and ME. Cannot say enough good things. Love love love and so thankful for MASH.

I'm so happy to have found a Emergency Vet I can finally trust. The staff is professional and kindly mannered.
I have been to several other places that had let me down and loose trust in veterinarian care in the LA area. One place wasted my time bc either the veterinarian quit or got fired and left. Another place did not take my concerns into perspective. They were so fixed on my dog having an eye infection even though I made them aware there was an large bump/abscess on a top molar (I was a previous dental professional). The other place just ignored you and didn't bother getting you information.
MASH will be my go to for my pets emergency care needs.
I subtracted a star only bc I was told to wait in the parking lot for 6hrs and had to call in to get updates on my doggo.

I would like to say I had a Huge Emergency with my Kitty Cat and Dr.Burke had Such an amazing impact on my baby getting better he did spent a night In the Oxygen Chamber and when I picked him up he looked so full of life and it was well worth the price.

They seem nice they did 2 surgeries on the dog I care for they are super expensive but he is coming home today so i believe thats great!
Filippo Marchino
Great center filled with nice doctors. It's never fun to visit a vet, but these guys make it a bit better. Also, on a side note, highly recommend pet health insurance.
Jacqueline Garcia
This will be the place that I will be bringing all three of my dogs from now on in case of an emergency. The staff was awesome. The doctor that saw my Eva rocks.
June Garrett
They've saved my best friend's life twice this year already, I can't not love them. I felt the care was excellent. I don't have pet insurance but was able to use care credit for some...it's expensive, but my vet connections on the (rural) east coast quoted identical ranges so that's just the cost of emergency and/or specialty vet care. They called when they said they'd call, they met with me when they said they would, they answered all my questions, I felt like my dog was well cared for and attended to. He has recovered from both surgeries remarkably well and is doing amazing. One con: my dog insisted on fresh, home cooked meals upon returning home from 2 days with them because they spoil them rotten with gourmet meals. I'll happily oblige, he's a good boy.

Quick intake at a very late hour. Please know u pay a higher rate after midnight. However, the front desk can be more hospitable in such an urgent care type of position. The veterinarian Kotelko was awesome. Very personable, professional and thorough. Although my feline friend was there for eating a fake plant, she gave him a thorough exam. She gave me options for treatment and didn't try to push me in one direction or another. One thing I don't like is that u can't accompany your pet in the exam room at any time. This can be challenging for an anxious pet.

Emergency eye injury to my ,15 year old Maltese. My regular vet gave me a number of referrals, everyone else couldn't take her accept MASH. Instant response from front desk and a referral to the department of optimology. They told us to bring her in, dropped her off at the door and 1/2 hour later was available to ho home. A few minutes the Dr.who treated her called me and we went point after point of my questions. Friendly, sense of humor and extremely knowledgeable in his subject. Left town 2 days later and forgot her meds. On the way we spoke to the assistant and they ordered from a pharmacy for our destination. Also this is a new facility with every veterinary specialty there is. More depth in care than any other veterinary service in that part of town.

I brought my 21 week puppy in due to vomiting and diarrhea. Everyone I spoke to was very friendly and thorough. Dr. Ahn was awesome. Nice and helpful and she fully explained everything they were going to do and what the results were. I would highly recommend this hospital and would but hesitate to return.
Jill Olivas
I brought my dog Jack in on the worst day of his life but the staff and Dr. Jacinto were wonderful. I was able to be with my boy in his last minutes on earth and was allowed to stay with him as long as I wanted after. He had an ultrasound earlier that day which uncovered some serious health issues. I made my decision to let Jack go and Dr. Jacinto was kind, empathetic and supportive.

We've been to MASH for our senior dog several times in the last couple years. From antibiotics for kennel cough to removing a cancerous tumor that added years to her life, they've done it all. And every one of the vets is so nice, even when I've showed up late at night. They remembered my dog and she remembered them, licking the nurse who helped her last time. If you ever have a pet emergency, I would highly recommend MASH.
Megan Morgan Melkonian
My dog has been seen by both the Emergency department and the Internal Medicine Department (Dr. Bianco, specifically). I’ve found the care to be excellent and their treatment of my dog’s illness has improved her quality of life significantly. MASH has very good COVID-19 protocols in place (you don’t have to go in — the technicians come and grab your pet from the car once you call and let them know you’re there) and I appreciate that they’ve spent time coming up with a system that works.

Had a medical emergency where my older lab stopped eating and was in clear distress. They were friendly and quick to act. It's clean and they seem pretty well equipped. The vet was informative and knowledgeable. Definitely a bit expensive, but they worked with me on some options that I could afford. Happy to say, while my dog's long term outlook isn't good, he is back on his feet and back to normal.
Cecilia Lee
Our doggo had been closing her right eye for a couple days. We made an appointment at the regular vet but it was a few days out and last night she was very bothered by it, pawing at it and whimpering too. I brought her in around 8pm and thankfully was able to get treatment immediately. Everyone is so sweet and accommodating! She is also a large rottie, a very strong and willful dog that is not always up for strangers handling/petting her but everyone was so amazing with her! I would recommend this hospital 100% for emergencies.
Jordyn Hengeveld
The MASH oncology team cared for my cat last year. I wholeheartedly recommend MASH, as they were innovative and compassionate - the best of both worlds.
Samantha A
My dog needed urgent surgery and this place was recommend. The staff here is really nice and it's really clean and looks nice inside. It's just really expansive here but like i said the staff as really friendly and kind. I'd give it a 4.4 i can't give it a 5 just because it prices a expensive. Normally I go to more lower-cost vets but my number of it doesn't do surgeries on puppies and she recommended this place that they're really nice and I didn't want to go looking around for a cheaper one cuz she needed surgery ASAP and the other 2 places my vet recommended did not have an opening for that day so we went here.
Livier Hernandez
This was the third place I had taken my dog to to get his jaw reconstructed after being broken by a vicious attack it was frustrating getting the runaround with other vet hospitals, I told the receptionist my problem and they told me to come in and started the surgery the same day and my dog was also out that same evening. The staff was amazing Thank you to the DR and staff in the dental department. I took me 2 weeks to find a place that would help me and my dog! Very grateful for this awesome animal hospital.
Yamila Nair Nader
Hi, I want to thank the entire team at the Metropolitan Animal Hospital. from Dr. Alexis Kotelko and all those present yesterday at dawn. They really are excellent professionals but more importantly wonderful human beings who care for and protect animals. Thank you very much for your attention and care to Magui. Blessings
Tim Thomas
We had our cat here for diagnosis for possible cancer. We found the staff to be excellent in their caring attitude and professionalism. They are responsive and sensitive. The ONLY reason to not give a 5 star rating is that we did not have any treatment done here, since we were referred to a clinic that treats cancer. I would definitely recommend MASH.
Millie Ben-David
I went here because the cardiologist Dr. Smith moved from a Culver City hospital and I liked her there. Some doctors are worth moving around for. The is very efficient and professional. Covid protocol prevents face to face meetings, you have to drop off the patient curbside but it wasn't too uncomfortable.
Natalie Rivera
The surgery and oncology department at MASH was incredible for my 7 y/o dog, Lala, who had a cancerous tumor on her leg. I don't even know where to begin. Dr. Williams, Dr. Strom, and Dr. Cabrera in the surgery department were extremely helpful, kind and communicative during the whole process. Dr. Pierro in the oncology department informed us of Lala's specific cancer type and went into detail about the treatment options and created a plan that was best for Lala's situation. The vet techs were absolutely amazing. Kristine, Pamela and Talia are just a few of the vet techs that went above and beyond in helping my very nervous and anxious dog. Despite suture complications that were a result of where the tumor was (awkward place on my dogs leg lead to several re-sutures and then an eventual open suture healing process), the team was determined to make sure Lala was well taken care of and comfortable. After a few months of collective effort, my dog is cancer free and healthy. Thank you so much to the amazing staff! (of course there were MANY other vet techs and receptionists that were extremely helpful in the process, those mentioned are just a few).

Updated: My specialist explained what to expect from ER. MASH did receive and taken in our dog at a quick pace. Out of 2 situations with her, they only addressed the old dog syndrome, and just didn't do anything about the possible kidney issue that was became acute stage 3....would think that would be more important? If we left her overnight, then I bet they would care?
Came for Old 15yr old medium/large Shepherd/Shiba dog (UTI, sweet pee, wobbly could no longer walk, vomiting, etc). TORN. Unsure what to think about this place: Pump and dump/or keep overnight type of system? It is an ER hospital so I appreciate the urgency to everything BUT there is some professionalism to proper releasing, and explanations too. A nurse can't explain anything, only doctor can.
Con: Misspelled owner name, and our email. No wonder we never got any emails. Release too quick with what we think is not enough proper info, or when get new results isn't given enough proper info like dietary, and such. Acute Kidney Disease, stage 3 is very abrupt and serious. I understand primary care takes care of that, but her case is urgent/reason paid for ER vs primary. Busy front desk -- Took forever to get back to us, we could have went to buy pee pads (which they didn't even suggest us) before getting our 15yr old baby dog back who couldn't really walk! Lack of communication between staff because only the doctor can talk, tech/front desk have a difficult time explaining the bill and such.
- Lack of professionalism in release of pet or any new urgent info is not done well. I had to google, and overthink things to properly take care of our dog.
Pro: Drive thru drop off/pick up if people actually remembers to move their car after they get their dog checked in! Pet handler bringing your pet into the ER was really nice, comforting. Comfortable lobby with caffeine, snacks, drinks and tv as good distractions while crying your eyes out. No waiting to take your ER pet in. They will waste no time to help your dog.
- If you are an experienced, educated pet owner, vocal and advocate for your pet, this place might not be too bad??? Again, they will take your pet in right away for ER....unlike ER for humans.
Update:
After waiting 2 days for ER results, still pending on urinalysis promised to have results next day..... if they knew she had elevated kidney issues, could have advised us to NOT give her boiled chicken meat?!!!! WTF?! I found that out online. They don't release you with enough info on how to take care or maintain the situation. Just hope they feel better which my non-professional vet friends can also do for me (hope she feels better).
Original Review:
We went in cause our 15yr old German shepherd mix collapsed, wobbly couldn't walk, vomiting, not well, her pee smelled sweet. Doc thinks it is Peripheral Vestibular Disease. Blood test shows kidney abnormal. They didn't mentioned UTI at all. I had to request UTI meds 1st, because I couldn't wait for rest results which we are suppose to hear back on the next day.....but it's taking over 2days. Today is day 3. Glad the vet is experienced enough to diagnose Peripheral Vestibular Disease (Old Dog Disease) right off the bat. We were thinking that was part of the current problem.
When we got there, we got a very compassionate staff who took her in. We got nausea pills, and my requested antibiotics pill.
The doctor is quick in telling you results, make sure you have all your questions ready to ask. We paid for in house xray, and they said urinalysis results would be ready next day, said they'll email and call us back....its been 2days of calling, nothing.
With no lab results, we can't tell if things are getting more internally severe. I think there is more than Peripheral Vestibular Disease...owners know how their own dogs pee smell like and symptoms. We still have unanswered question from day of visit...a nurse saying maybe is not an answer.
Place is clean. Has snacks, tv drinks and coffee maker which is nice while anxiously waiting. Staff tries to be as nice as possible with all the situation around.

We take our Twix with a severe bladder obstruction for the second time in his short life we were so worried, the staff receive us and guide us throughout all the decisions in a very professional but really caring way , Twix needed hospitalization and surgery they allow us to say goodbye and next day they send us a pic from our beloved Twix much better, they keep us updated on all the steps . We take it home with all the recommendations to take care of him . We return for stitches off and the same spectacular service.
We love this place sometimes your dear pet don’t have a price is so worth it. Highly recommend.

It's great that it's open after hours. The staff are super nice. The ambiance is amazing. Unfortunately, the vet gave my dog the wrong diagnosis and treatment recommendations. The vet said my dog had upper respiratory infection and possibly pneumonia when he had lower back pain which was confirmed by negative lab tests and positive x-rays. Price is double of Olympic Pet Hospital.

Rating hospitals and vetranarian offices is always hard since it is difficult to separate the result of care from the quality of care. Although there is a relationship, sometimes the best care can still result in negative outcomes.
The staff is very nice and attentive. Emergency pet care is always expensive, but they seem to have many resources available to them. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to treat pets since they cannot talk, so much is just trial and error. That must be taken into consideration when judging a hospital.
They have been very busy with emergencies more urgent than ours, so the visit took longer than we would have liked. But that is a danger of being in a big city.

Wow, Dr. Pierro completely exceeded our expectations for compassionate & thorough care. Our sweet cat was diagnosed with cancer in his leg and we were completely devastated, sad, scared and confused. We saw Dr. Pierro for a consultation, and she immediately put us at ease with her obvious love for cats and her extensive knowledge in treating cancer. She fully explained everything to us, went over all our options and helped us figure out which treatments & tests were a priority. We didn't feel rushed at all, I think we were able to spend almost 30 minutes just talking with her! Her assistant was lovely, friendly and compassionate as well. I feel so so grateful to have found Dr. Pierro in the middle of such a devastating diagnosis for our beloved baby.

Dr. Strom is one of the most compassionate veterinarians I have had the privilege to work with. When it was time to say goodbye to my wonderful Doberman, Dr. Strom was there to support my family. Thank you also to his great staff for their kindness.

They saved my dog. I brought her here from another pet hospital and they figured out what was wrong with her (when the other pet hospital couldn't) and got her on the road to recovery. Everyone was very kind and compassionate. Dr. Guest and Dr. Bianco were very nice and answered all of our questions. Dr. Bianco figured out what was wrong with her. The vet techs were also very kind and compassionate and that is very important. If I ever need a pet hospital again, this is the only place I will bring my pet.
daniel sastre
This is the best hospital in the city . Very expensive but worth it. Fairly nice staff but when your fur baby is sick people act a little wacky and they are better w pets than people. Insurance will save you here. They do take pay pal with out a card which can also save you . Highly recommend.

I was overall impressed with indoor, outdoor interiors, customers' parking, services, coffee and beverage nook. Price was bit high for just an examination($125). Veterinarian was very thorough with detailed explanations.
Why the three stars, it was the sanitary. While waiting in the examination room, I have noticed splatter of blood on partial of the door and the walls. These are very critical for animal hospitals due to their pets could licking them and get sick.
MARIA CARBAJAL
Such a humane facility! I brought my cat in, who is suspected to have
FIP :( Dr. Bianco asked lots of questions, observed my kitty, and concluded that neurology services are necessary. Without me requesting it, he waived the consultation fee because he knows MRI expenses will be high. I thank him and bless him. He and all the staff at the clinic were thoughtful, resourceful and patient. God bless this facility and all its employees.

My cat was treated by Dr Hobson (specialty veterinary dentist) at MASH after his head was rolled over by a truck at Silver Strand beach. Dr Hobson fixed everything. It was a process & not inexpensive but the cat is able to eat, breathes well & his quality of life has been restored. I hope none of you will be introduced to MASH in this way but if you are they are the most competent & professional animal docs out there. The staff is top notch & compassionate. AND they have free valet parking.
Chaise Tait
Raven was amazing!!! I (Verna) called MASH and had so many questions about Coconut. It was time for Raven to go home; nevertheless, she answered all of my questions, gave me financial options, waited for me to arrive and stayed with me until Coconut was released from the hospital. Coconut was diagnosed with Vestibular Disorder (vertigo in humans).
Raven went above and beyond to make sure I was well informed, comfortable and treated kindly. MASH you definitely have a GEM, a kind human being in Raven.
Thank you so much (Coconut's mom) Verna
DMT
I have to say everyone working there was incredibly kind and attentive to my dog Concha. She was bleeding severely from her left nostril and they took her in immediately. Dr Chong called us in with a list of possible causes, including cancer, a foreign object stuck up.. In the end it was just too expensive, almost 6k to have blood work and CT scan and rhynoscopi. I wish I had to money to have had her treated there but without any direct payment plans we had to look elsewhere. It's very pricy but if you have the money, totally worth it as the level of care and concern was top notch.
Emerson Dameron
Provided thoughtful and compassionate end-of-life care for my cat. Competent, honest, and kind.

Friendly staff. They were having an anniversary party when we came to pick up our sick cat so the tiny parking lot (which only has about 15 spaces) was packed with about 30 cars. I had to leave my car with a valet that was working the party. When we came out, we had to walk around with our cat in the carrier for a few minutes, looking for him so he could give me my keys and also move a car he had parked in front of mine. There was loud music and people walking by, giving tours of the place and peeking into our room. It was not the best idea to have a staff and family party at an emergency animal hospital, where people can't just drive up and retrieve or drop off their sick or injured pets. Also, the loud music and the screaming children were not good for a place where animals are already under stress and people could be getting bad news. However, that was (hopefully) a one time thing and every other time has been a pleasant.
SymAum
Good experience and as pricey as expected. A bit of a wait, but once my dog was taken in, she was assessed by Dr., we communicated via telephone and was out with the appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
Joann Garcia
This is the best vet I've ever been to. I'm really happy I went here the staff, doctors etc., they're all really super nice and friendly. They took really good care of my puppy! Gave me a whole diet plan for her. They are just awesome. Would highly recommend!
Jonny Hockey
Best staff everrrrr, helped my sick little dude so he was home in time for my nieces 7th birthday on zoom (unicorn themed).

This facility was absolutely fantastic with my sick kitten, Hazel. The front desk staff were both efficient and kind, and I cannot rave enough about Dr. Michael Becker and Dr. Cruikshank. It was such a stressful experience but we could not have felt more supported overall. Thank you all!
Malakai Monterrosa
Amazing!!!!
Immediately attended to my little Roxxy and she was treated like a star!
She was in the best facility and best care possible... When it comes to our fur babies... they go above and beyond. Thank you Dr. Cabrera!

I am so pleased with all of the veterinary professionals I encountered during my darling dog Marcel's visit. The attention to detail for comfort in the spacious reception room is a welcome change from many other offices, and the booking representatives very attentive. There was eye contact made by veterinary technicians, and other personnel who were not even treating my baby, as they walked up an down the open hallway. Right away I observed this business values friendliness and transparency.
Veterinary health assistant Tami Rae greeted Marcel with such joie de de vivre before Dr. Eva Schmidt's dermatological consult and exam, which was very detailed. She thoroughly explained Marcel's short and long term treatment plan with me. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Eva and confident Marcel would continue to receive excellent care as we moved towards solutions for his skin allergies. I can only say great things about this stellar medical facility. It's wonderful to have a group of renowned specialists and a 24/7 emergency facility in my neighborhood!
Aimee
The staff and doctor showed great compassion and kindness for me and my pet in an extremely difficult situation in the middle of the night. I am very thankful that this facility was here good care they gave Amber and their support for me.
Carol Liglet
Not so great to have to have gone there with my sweet baby dog, but glad they were there. Staff is always quick to address you the minte you walk in the door. The Dr.s are knowledgable and helpful, giving you the facts and options. I've been to many pet hospitals over the years and this is a top notch facility with reasonable prices for a specialty/energency animal Hospital.
Mary Kudlak
I can't say enough good things about MASH. I had a scare recently with my cat, Bill Murray, and everyone at MASH was caring, friendly, and helpful. They took the best care of my pet and me, even at 2 in the morning. Thank you everyone at MASH!

Haven’t visited but super thankful for Annabelle who patiently walked me through a panic as a first time puppy mom, when he had irregular stool. So glad she was able to give me some advice!

Friendly and fast service, thank god for these doctors! I highly recommend taking your little ones here!

We will be forever grateful to Dr. Eloise Stikeman for going the extra mile to save our Yorkie’s life on Mother’s Day Sunday. We suspected he’d inhaled a foxtail and he was in a lot of distress displaying pain and breathing difficulties.
A regular scope under light sedation in San Diego found nothing and I was told to find an internal medicine Vet. Unbelievably, there was absolutely no one available in all San Diego county.
How fortunate then to find MASH in Santa Monica open and operating on Sunday with availability to see Dr. Stikeman.
Despite the Radiologist advising there was no sign of a foxtail on the CT scans, she was determined. After what she described as a long, careful and thorough procedure she located it deep in his nasal cavity. Without a doubt her patience, dedication and expertise saved his life. I have no idea what we would have done with MASH and Dr. Stikeman. Thank you!
Elias Skoubis
They were just closing down for the day at the time, but they informed us (without any associated fees after a quick check-up), that we needed to get this Kitten to a 24/7 animal hospital for IV fluids ASAP or he was going to die. When we called they said treatment began at essentially 625$ after the 125$ fee just to see the pet, and then hospital care starts at 500 minimum.
Maria Rodriguez
MASH has the best ER veterinary doctors and surgeons. Dr. Strom has cared for several of my dogs over the last dozen years. One of the dogs needed multiple surgeries over her life and she made it to the ripe old age of 15.5.
Recently, Drs. Strom and Bianco saved our Golden's life with an emergency surgery to remove a tumor that was causing him pain and discomfort. He is 8 years old, is frolicking with his two sisters, and back to his old self again.
We are grateful to and for the MASH team!
The MASH doctors and staff are incredibly caring, precise in their veterinary care, they follow up, take excellent care of our pets when they spend the night in their care, and I trust them entirely with our most beloved babies -- our dogs.

5 Stars for honesty...I called at 1:42AM Christmas day because my baby was breathing super weird and I got really scared. I talked to Ryan and the first question I asked was how much the consultation was ($145 which is not horrible for an emergency at almost 2AM on Christmas). Ryan asked if I was gong to bring her and I said yes. He then asked if I could explain the symptoms and I did. I turns out my baby was reverse sneezing and as scary as the sound of that sounds is not serious at all. I have to say that i think any other establishment would have said yes bring her over and take my money and even give her some Tylenol and charge me more. I really appreciate Ryan's honesty. Since I'm super OCD I youtubed the whole reverse sneezing to make sure and yep that exactly what it was and there is the video by a vet telling everyone that's absolutely normal.
Thanks Ryan!
Soquel Rice
Everyone there, doctors and staff, is so kind! The only thing that seems to surpass their kindness is their obvious expertise in emergency animal care. I don't think my Bella would be alive today if not for MASH.
cecelia wantuch
this vet facility helped my bullboxer w her surgery..THO the last appt she had there was a woman desperately needing help for her DYING pup..they REFUSED her. rather see this tiny pup die then help. WONT never go there again. I called folks i know an pup is doing goodish

Caring staff and great Vets. I've had a few emergency visits and my pets have had the best care here. Thank YOU!!! for when we needed the Best for our precious furry ones.
Jacob Falk
The staff and doctors were very caring and helpful. Multiple followup phone calls were both unexpected and appreciated. Not to mention, my bill was 20% less than initially quoted!
Gregory M
State of the art veterinary emergency, ICU/CCU and specialist hospital. The best critical care vets I have found in many years of pet ownership. (Notably Dr. Becker and Dr. Cruikshank.) For a true veterinary emergency it is the most qualified and equipped that I have found in all of So CA.
Phoenix
I've been coming to this hospital since 2018. They have been extraordinary for 3 of my cats when they've needed immediate medical attention. You can really sense how they care about our wee furballs.
Nicola Phillips
Brilliant vets, took my elderly labrador down as an emergency and they were lovely. Everything is set up perfectly for Covid-19 times. Staff were wonderful and I can’t thank them enough for all that they did. Highly recommend.
karla molina
MASH is the right place to take your pet. I took my pup Manchita because she was really sick and they helped her a lot! we thought she wasn’t going to get better but she stayed there a couple of days and we got to bring her home. thank you!
Charles Brunscher
Well at first it i was not told how to do everything to get him registered after I get stuck the doctor she explains that things much more better and I'm very satisfied with with their work so far.
Kirsten DLCO (FashionEntrepreneur)
Amazing service and honesty, best animal hospital in LA! Prevented my kitty from needing surgery instead of pushing it on me. I'm so grateful for the team at MASH!

Great job.

This is an exceptional vet clinic. The skill, attention, time and care is above and beyond anything I have experienced. They helped both of my senior dogs.

They took good care of my furry little girl. Great table side manner and clean welcoming facility. Will be switching to MASH as my primary veterinarian.
Tammy Glenn
Prefer to talk to Dr. Jeremy O'Neil in neurology at MASH by Dr. Marti Armington at Port Hueneme Animal Hospital. We couldn't ask for a better team. So appreciative of our veterinarians.
Mariam Martin
I love this place, last week I took my dog Wally and everybody was super nice, people at the desk, technicians and doctors. I'm glad that I found a place where I can take Wally if we have an emergency close from home and with nice people.
Craig Mitchell
This vet is good for medical services. But dont expect anything else. Communication from the staff is horrendous. They never call you back or actually answer your questions in a timely fashion. They will take care of your pet but you won't leave satisfied.
Valerie Grant
Great caring staff, and relatively quick turnaround in this Covid era of 7-8 hour ER wait times.

The internal medicine department is world class. Dr. Bisignano is such an incredible doctor. Multiple vets have been impressed with his quick diagnosis of an uncommon issue in my dog, as it usually takes a while to diagnose. He is so thorough, he actually just caught a severe issue that had been overlooked at my dog’s normal physical. I’m so happy my dog and I found him and this hospital. Everyone who encounters my dog has sweet words to say to him and treat him like he’s their own. I drive all the way from Marina Del Rey to come here, and I don’t regret a minute with care this fantastic :)
