Staff was very nice and took good care of our dog Abel. I expressed concerns of someone coming up to the vehicle outside and they were very kind and accommodating and took us straight to an exam room once we arrived. They were very thorough and explained every test and what to expect. They will definitely be my go to place anytime I have a pet emergency from now on! Taking the time to listen to concerns and took a scary situation for us very seriously. But from the front desk to the tech to the vet everyone was so kind. Abel is feeling so much better!!

The entire staff at Indy vet was very helpful and friendly and the doctor was very knowledgeable more so than what I feel others would have been able to figure out to do with our cat! They did a wonderful job diagnosing our cat getting him back to good health I would recommend them to anyone when you have an emergency for your pet!

I was very happy to have found this pet ER. The staff, from the front desk to the techs to the vet are all wonderful. They really care about you and your pet. I really can't say enough about them considering we had to say good-bye to our Watson that night and they were so caring, compassionate and professional at the same time. That can't be easy to do time and again in the face of a crying pet parent but they do it. If you need help with your pet go here, they are worth it. Thank you all so much for your kindness, you made a horrible night a little bit better. I know Watson felt it too! Here is a picture of Watson following her sister Sherlock. They were always together.

We ended up here last night after our one year old pup ate something he shouldn’t have. Our experience was great, especially during such a scary time. The staff were all so kind and knowledgeable. The Vet took the time to go over everything and make us feel comfortable with their diagnosis as well as the procedure he would need to undergo. The wait time was what we expected for an emergency clinic, as well as the pricing. I really appreciated all of the help and communication and my pup is feeling so much better today. Overall, I highly recommend and would choose again if we ever have an emergency. Thank you so much, IndyVet & Dr. Roman!

We are amazed at the caring and professional staff at Indy Vet. We were afraid that we would lose our sweet Bailey girl. Your quick treatment plan along with answered prayer saved her life. We called periodically while she was hospitalized to check on her progress and we were always treated with care and kindness; the staff never acted like it was a burden. We were also allowed to visit with our furbaby. We need more clinics like Indy Vet across Indiana! They truly treat your beloved pet as their pet!

This is truly hard to post, last night our beloved Yorkie Poo, Chance, was attacked by coyotes. I found him in a field and instantly panicked trying to find an emergency vet close to us. IndyVet was the closest. I just wanna thank everyone there last night that tried to save our ChancyPoo and for being so thorough, caring and informative about next actions needed. I’d also really love to thank all of you for being so patient with us while we said goodbye and allowing us to be there so he didn’t have to go alone but surrounded by his family. Your vet and staff truly care for the animals in your care. Again thank you.

IndyVet was incredible. The facilities were clean and well taken care of. The staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. After check in we were shown to a private exam room with a TV and comfortable seating. The tech vet was prompt to come in and take our dog's vitals. Going to an emergency clinic is never quick, as they are all working triage, but they provided free water and coffee while we waited. Once the vet arrived she gave a thorough exam and spoke with us about the situation. We would highly recommend IndyVet to anyone.

We have had a great experience with IndyVet from the initial phone call we had prior to us bringing our dog in. They are very thorough and took extensive time answering all of our questions and providing updates while our dog was hospitalized. The vets took their time with our case and we never once felt rushed. We truly felt that they had our pups best interest in mind, which was comforting. The knowledge and care they provided has allowed us to bring our pup home for Christmas. The amount of time that was taken providing us updates and answering all of our questions throughout our pups stay in the hospital was phenomenal. This is an experience that we hope our pup never goes through again, but we now know that there will be a place that she will receive the best care possible if needed.

The best vet experience we have ever had. The amount of love and compassion that was given not only to our fur baby, but us as well, was incredible. You can just tell they care about your pet as much as you do. Would give 10 stars if possible. Dr. Klein and all of her staff were so sweet to our baby. To the point of getting on the floor with her to help ease her anxiety. They loved on her and did anything possible to make her more comfortable. But I feel like the friendly faces truly start as soon as you walk in the door. Thank you for your outstanding care to all the staff at Indy Vet!!

Amazing place! I took my cat in to be spayed and the lovely receptionist gave ME some Trazadone and smacked me upside the head until I passed out in the waiting area, and I didn’t worry one bit! One very quick procedure later and my lovely Mochi comes back with her little tongue flopping out and her eyes flopping around like a fish out of water! I took her home the next day. My cat walks a little funny and speaks in a lovely Boston accent now, so sadly I cannot give it 5 stars, but other than that I totally recommend!

The vet techs are very knowledgeable efficient and caring. I wasn't able to see the vet last night with Rosie, but the vet saw her. Turns out my dog really didn't need their services, which was a relief. She was going to be fine and this morning, she is! For anyone reading this review, make sure all your Delta eight is stowed away safely from pets. I still don't know how my dog got a hold of what little I have here! But she must have. I've been to Indy Vet quite a few times over the years with my different dogs, and the care has been consistently excellent. I'm very grateful that such high quality veterinary services are available period, and for 24 hous/day.

Everyone from the moment I stepped in the door was friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. Dr Tabor was wonderful. She explained what she planned to do, came back to review her findings, let me know how my baby was progressing, and gave me options for aftercare I could hear the way the triage staff greeted other anxious pet owners and answered calls from the exam room where I waited. They were so kind and calm which seemed to help scared pet parents. Everything was bright and clean. Nicer than most human emergency departments.

Everyone working at IndyVet has been friendly and helpful, and clearly cares about the patients. I have only personally seen the lobby and exam rooms, but the facility seems to be very well equipped for handling a large variety of problems. Unfortunately I have experienced very long wait times both times I have visited, but I'm sure that's because of triage and prioritization, and IndyVet has helped my dog successfully both times. If you're taking your pet to the ER and it's not a critical emergency (such as a respiratory problem), be prepared for a delay, especially around the holidays. They'll get to you as quickly as possible, but they do prioritize based on how quickly care needs to be given and severity of case. They have complimentary water and coffee available, and vending machines with a larger variety of snacks and drinks. Definitely happy knowing there are good, experienced, capable people available in an emergency for our non-human family members! We really appreciate the high level of care given to the patients!

Dr. Klein and her staff were quick yet thorough and very kind to me and my fur baby Max. She explained things to me and made sure all my questions got answered. Dr. Klein did a thorough look inside my pets eye. While he may need surgery in the future she didn't feel a need to jump into right now. I appreciated Dr. Klein's honesty and genuine care for Max.

I understand the wait time because you never know whats going on with other pets, but is there a way to make the waiting rooms more comfortable for people? Im disabled and was there almost 5 hours. I am super happy with the staff and care for my animal and wouldn't change anything about it. The vet tech who went above and beyond helping me once she knew i was disabled. She helped me carry my pet to my car and was extra kind to me in explaining everything to where i could understand it.

Dr. Wood and the oncology department treated my cat, Kitty, for the last 15 months of her life. Dr. Wood set appropriate and realistic expectations for my husband and I from the beginning when Kitty started chemotherapy. Without treatment, she was given ~60 days to live, and with treatment, she could have 9 months or more. As I said, she beat the odds and made it 15. She had been hospitalized twice during her treatment and was able to recover. Unfortunately, about three weeks ago, the time came to put her to sleep as her cancer had spread, and her quality of life was diminishing. It was one of the worst days of my life, and I’m thankful Dr. Wood was there to help us make the decision to end her suffering. She always recommended what she knew was in Kitty’s best interest. We are so grateful to IndyVet and the oncology and neurology department for taking such good care of her and giving us extra time she likely wouldn’t have had otherwise due to her terminal cancer. There’s no question or doubt in our minds that they loved and cared for her.

Came across dr Davidsen on one of the worst days of my life. She kept my dog alive long enough for me to see him when he has a mass rupture in his stomach. My eyes were swelled shut by the time I got there. She was nice and gave me all the time in the world with Gunnery Sergeant Hartman “Gunny” to say what we needed to say. She’s a little gem thanks for helping my family and my boy.

IndyVet staff was all very helpful, although they were busy. The techs and vets are very knowledgeable and took good care of my cat. I hope I don't have to go back, but will not be as anxious next time, knowing that they will take good care of him. The staff took time even when busy to answer my questions and give updates.

When I initially called for scheduling - my call was answered... by a person (NO VOICEMAIL!). I called IndyVet after waiting nearly a week for a callback from another Oncology center (and calling them multiple times of the week, speaking with multiple people and leaving multiple messages - and here we are almost a month later and I still haven't heard back from them). It was a little bit of a wait for the surgery consult but after the consult, we are lucky enough to be getting in for surgery within 24 hours of the consult. I appreciate that the goal is to get it completed on an outpatient basis - and hopefully save a little money, as this has been an expensive journey already. I'm not used to an office being concerned about the cost to me - so I really appreciate that. Thus far, they have been very patient with me/my pet and very thorough. I appreciate the level of care for my pet while also taking cost into consideration. Also, being taken directly into a room vs sitting in a hectic waiting area was very helpful for alleviating some of the stress on my girl.

I was very pleased with the service and friendliness. The price was a little steep. I get it's an ER, but I just feel for ppl who love their pets as much as me, but can't afford 5k for surgery. I do thank all of you for saving my baby girl though. You can't really put a price on that. The friendliness and care that each staff member showed. Very thankful that this clinic was open the night before Thanksgiving! I brought my cat in for an issue that could not wait until her visit with her regular vet the following week. Wait time was very long (8 hours), but our case was not as emergent as others. I recommend bringing a phone charger but they have coffee and snacks in the waiting room. Dr. Matusiak-Flynn and the technician were very kind and handled my pet with great care.

I felt very supported by the workers here. My kittens doctor was confident and that gave me some relief. I was able to get her home within 1 night when the last hospital was unsure if she was going to be okay and unsure when I would have her home. They took well care of her and trimmed her nails! I'm just grateful she is doing better and was cared for by the loving team at IndyVet. I wouldn't go anywhere else in the future for important pet emergencies. The compassion my kittens doctor had for her and myself made me feel very safe while relying on them to handle my kittens life.

I was pleased with the care but the vet suggested I have my dog put to sleep because of a broken shoulder if I was not going to get her leg amputated. The surgery was $8000. I asked them to keep her overnight instead and see how she did into the following day. The next day I went to pick her up and it was a different vet and she said she thought it was worth trying to take her home and see how she does. It is now a week later and she is doing really good. I'm not sure why the first doctor made me feel like it was the surgery or putting her to sleep. Thank God I did not listen to him. On the plus side the rest of the staff was very friendly and caring.

Dr. Gillespie has cared for 3 of my cats - 2 have passed on and she now sees the third. I trust her implicitly. She takes time to explain everything so that I understand it. She calls me quickly with test results, sometimes at 7:00 pm at night. She understands that we have limits on what we can do financially and gives me options & explains them. I know without a doubt that she has her furry patients best interests at heart. She is by far the most knowledgeable and emphatic doctor that I've ever worked with.

Dr. Zaremba, the nurses, vet techs and office staff were wonderful. When your pet is seriously ill it's important to show kindness and compassion which was evident among the staff. Dr. Zaremba was very thorough and took time to explain everything to me. Although the wait was long, I realized it was because others were receiving the same level of care. I most appreciated they treated Gunnar with respect and as an individual. They took the time to explain his condition and prognosis in a way that was easy to understand.

The separate waiting rooms are very clean and nice. The explanation I received from the veterinarian was very detailed but perhaps a little too verbose. I appreciated making sure I understood, however. The level of care toward my pet was outstanding.

Excellent communication and follow-up. From the doctor calling with updates and explanations to the discharge papers giving a complete diagnosis (so I don't have to remember what the doctor told me.) I also appreciate the 24/7 aspect of care. That gave me a level of comfort that if my dog started feeling badly during the night, I could immediately take him in for treatment. Finally, the level of expertise in caring for my dog. The doctors were extremely knowledgeable and up-to-date on the latest medical tests and procedures. I felt like I was getting the best care possible for my dog.

Couldn't ask for a nicer and more honest Dr to deal with for a pet. Not just in it to push people through and get to the next appointment, he sat down with us and explained everything after a very positive initial check up before surgery it was found to not be necessary. The time given by the Dr to discuss and was not in any hurry to move to the next patient really means a lot.

Excellent staff, did a great job with our cat. One suggestion please inform owners what will happen when their cat arrives home after a catheter has been removed. So not prepared for cat pee all over the house. Really hard to to keep him stress free.

Izzy was seen quickly, and the care she received was thorough. The vet tech was knowledgable with Izzy's current status as an oncology patient there and that gave me a lot of comfort. On 8/28 we took our 14 year old dog here. Turned out he was full of cancer and we had to make the decision to put him to sleep. Not an easy thing to do.They waited until all our family to get there before putting him to sleep. It was nice to have him surrounded by all those who loved him. The staff was amazing when I brought in a dog I was babysitting who got attacked by a stray. They were very black and white on costs and next steps. Everybody at the front desk was so sweet and understanding. The vet was the only one working with an insane amount of urgent cases so we did have a hefty wait but they assured us they were keeping Blue comfortable while he was waiting to get fixed up. Overall they made a horrible and traumatizing experience a lot easier to handle. When I came in I was an absolute wreck. I was sobbing and the girl at the front counter literally jumped up, ran around the counter and asked "where are they?” as she was running out the door to help. She didn't hesitate for a second. Also the vet while extremely over worked took very good care of our Blue. She was very thorough in his care instructions and took the time to make sure our boy was taken care of.

The compassion for this staff is unparalleled. My daughter had to make a very difficult decision today in regards to her cat Romeo. The vet clearly explained everything that her cat needed and a rough estimate as to the cost. However when the blood test came back there was only one humaine decision to make. The hard decision to let you best friend go. The vet explained the process and assured my daughter was making the best decision for cat. Every staff member we came in contact with treated us with the upmost compassion and patience. Today was a very difficult day and we are thankful for the staff of this emergency pet hospital.

When we had to take our cat in for emergency services, IndyVet's front desk staff promptly got a vet to assist and rolled through the necessary admin items. We cannot say enough how much we appreciated having a private room to wait in and the warm bedside manner of the vet when they gave us the news that they suggest we put the cat down. IndyVet's stellar professionalism and service was much appreciated and we would recommend them to anyone.

My little fuzzy face baby was sick, I was worried she ate something she shouldn't have and we made a trip to IndyVet where they lovingly attended to her and helped her feel better, easing my mind by thoroughly examining her. The cost was explained to me before any procedures occurred so I knew what to expect. The outcome was I ended up paying a bit less than expected and my fuzzy face baby was ready to go home. She felt better and after a little rest once we got home, she was up and feeling so much better and was in the most lovey mood.

We appreciated being able to stay with our cat throughout the entirety of the waiting process and in between exams by the technicians and doctors. We also liked the check-in process and the quick assessment of Goose's severity when we walked in. We were able to wait with Goose in an exam room, so we weren't stuck in our car or forced to keep him locked up in his carrier for the duration of our stay. The room had information about nearby food and there was a television available to pass the time. We were at the vet for a few hours, and the staff did a great job of checking in with us periodically. There were some complimentary drinks available as well as vending machines with drinks and snacks. Not only did Goose get great care (and has made a full recovery), but the staff did everything they could to make us comfortable in a situation that is usually difficult. Edit: After reading other reviews, I thought it may be prudent to come back and indicate why we took our cat to the vet. We woke up on Sunday morning and found he had vomited up mesh ribbon from a new toy we had bought. He became lethargic, was vomiting a ton, wasn't eating and wasn't going to the bathroom. We called our usual vet the next day and they indicated we should get him looked at ASAP because he could have a blockage from the toy. We had to go to IndyVet because our vet didn't have any emergency appointments available. A technician did an assessment of Goose and it was recommended x-rays be done in an attempt to see if there were any blockages. It was also recommended for blood work to be done. We were given an estimate and agreed to the tests. Goose was taken back and the doctor let us know his blood work looked good and there weren't any visible blockages - with the caveat that there was a portion of his digestive tract that wasn't clear in the x-rays. It was suggested Goose be given an anti-nausea medicine and go home. The doctor said an ultrasound could be done, but he felt we should see how Goose did on the medicine and with a bland diet for a few days. Our bill for all of the tests, exams and medications was around $650. I appreciated that we were sent home with a clear plan of care. We also knew what the next steps were should Goose's condition not improve or get worse. I appreciate the doctor didn't try and preemptively force more tests on us. After a couple of days on the medicine and following the rest of the care plan, Goose was mostly back to normal. I called the vet to let them know he still wasn't pooping. The person who answered the phone took the time to look up our file, consult with the doctor and came back with a clear timeline of when we should return if his condition didn't improve. In the end, Goose didn't have to return for any further tests or treatment and he is back to his usual, spunky self!

My basset was diagnosed with a fatty tumor which ended up being an abscess. After my dog scratched it open and started to bleed everywhere we were told to call Indy Vet, from the vet that diagnosed him. We were all treated with kindness when we walked in the door. They were so wonderful with him! He got treatment and we got answers.Highly recommended!!

For such a stressful situation, I was blown away by this place. Everyone was so nice and caring. They came by and offered water a couple times and also came in just to check on me. They kept me up to date on everything that was going on. There was one miscommunication that caused a delay and they were so sincerely apologetic. I really felt like the whole staff was supporting me and cared about my pet.

We saw Dr. Mossine today. Very thorough explanation re: Tuffy's seizures, possible causes and treatment plans. Newest research presented to support recommendations. I really appreciated the Discharge Summary at the end of the visit and felt that I had a better understanding of what steps should be taken to minimize my pup's seizures. I loved the whole visit! Dr Mossine is an excellent educator, spent answering all my questions, staff demeanor very good.

I would recommend IndyVet, to anyone who wants excellent quality care for your pet!! I took my dog there thinking there was no hope for him and the vet there fixed him right up and gave him medication and she took her time with him explaining everything thing to us and was so caring as was the whole staff!! The vets at indy vet are always so attentive to our boy Henry. The first time he was there was after he had many seizures. He stayed 3 nights and had aMRI and ultrasound done and they called us frequently to let use know how he was and if he had any seizures. Now that my mind is clear I can type this review. In Feb my beloved Doyle became suddenly ill. My primary vet was stumped as all blood work was great and eye exam normal but he had developed sudden neurological issues. I called IndyVet and they got me an appointment in 5 days, for a specialist that is amazingly fast. Dr Mossine and the WHOLE Neurology dept was amazing. On our first visit, they stayed late to make sure my Doyle got an MRI while we were there because they knew we had driven 4hrs to get there. As things went on and dx was made and tx started they were all very supportive, kind, professional and did everything in their power to answer all questions I had, they checked in regularly and Dr Mossine called herself to answer my questions. The fight was lost for my beloved Doyle but Dr Mossine and her whole team did everything they could to help us win the fight. I never once questioned her treatment plan and was happy when she didn't hesitate when I said do anything you can. Being a nurse and long time dog owner I generally question some tx plans but never did I question Dr Mossines plan or the options she gave me. She was always completely honest about potential prognosis but always had Doyle quality of life on top of priorities. IndyVet Neurology Team was and is worth the 4hr one way trip. I would have driven further to get the care we received with them. I pray I never need Neurology again but if I do I will never go anywhere but IndyVet to Dr Mossine.

It is very hard to decide that a pet needs emergency medical care, and it is a relief when the pet receives exactly the medical care that it needs. It would be very easy to take advantage of my anxiety surrounding my pets' health and suggest all kinds of outlandish treatments, and I don't believe that happened.

Excellent Emergency hospital with hygienic rooms and reasonable prices for their services for your fur baby. I took my Yorkie, River here, late on a Sunday, after he ate a sharp beef rib bone and was acting strangely afterwards. I was so worried it had punctured something internally. They calmed me and were incredibly gentle with River. They showed me on the X-rays that the bone was in small pieces and should exit fine. The visit was only $200, fair for everything they did for him & worth my peace of mind knowing he wasn't going to die. They even followed up the next day to see how River was. He's doing great now!! Will definitely use them again, if have too, but hopefully won't have to!

We were coming into Indianapolis for a wedding and one of my dogs had some respiratory symptoms that were getting worse, so after a 10 hour drive, we stopped here and couldn't have been happier with the entire experience. For a situation that could have been stressful and exhausting (stopping at an emergency vet after a long drive), this was downright pleasant. I took my dog in today and he ended up needing to he put down. Doctor Summers was such a wonderful vet to have during thus time. She explained his condition wonderfully and gave me an hour to come to a decision. After we were moved to a big room where we could hold and love our best friend one last time. Ans when it was time for him to go she was so gentle and told him he was loved. Let us sit with us for as long as we needed. And was so patient and understanding. She brought light into one of the worst experiences ive ever faced and I'm so grateful for her kindness. She truly loves animals. When it was time to remove his body she picked him up and carried him with the same care you would take had he been alive. I definitely will go back if any of my cats need emergency care. The whole staff is friendly and kind. Impeccable bed side manner.

I didn’t have to wait at all to go back in a room and have my dog seen in the emergency department. They were very thorough and explained what was going on. Ultimately thought I was going to be spending quiet a bit as she had to be sedated to get everything taken care of. However the price was unbeatable. Very sweet front desk ladies the night I went in. Super accommodating, had to rush out as soon as my ferret was stable due to my boyfriend having an allergic reaction and they found us some allergy medicine to hold us off until we got home to his medicine. The vet helped my ferret to be stabilized after a series of seizures, even though they technically don't treat ferrets. Worked with me on costs due to the fact that our pet didn't quite receive a typical exam due to not being the typical patient

My Service Animal, 12 year old female Shih Tzu (MeiLin) was in distress with breathing and choking. I Googled ER Veterinarian Hospitals and found IndyVet by accident (I was forwarded from another number.) Gave symptoms over phone and was told to get there ASAP. Arrived and within minutes of checking in took her into Exam Room. After X-ray, tests, informed of congestive heart failure and further extensive treatment was risky but not treating was certain death. I erred on the side of caution wanting her to be as comfortable as possible. For the next 3-4 hours waited for her to stabilize and then I could see her and go home. Overnight she did well and began weaning off Oxygen to breathe on her own! The staff continued to call with updates and she was discharged 48 hours later to me. My experience was traumatic, as I am also a heart patient, so I understood the severity of the situation. My heartfelt thanks go to the entire staff at IndyVet for their transparency with care and cost as well as compassionate, comforting, and considerate behavior to a distressed pet parent! Since it’s been a week, a few calls to follow up care and return visit has been made to keep me informed and again calmer. Thanks so much for such a beacon of hope in an otherwise distressing situation.

This place is a fantastic resource for new comers to the area. My cat had an abscess come up on her foot really quickly and having moved here less than a year ago we had not established a local vet yet for her and our appointment wait was going to be 3 weeks out. My cat's foot was swollen and least twice the size as normal witching 3 days so I knew waiting 3 weeks wasn't going to work. I called and was able to get in same day, or any time because they are 24-hours. While the wait was long (5 hours) the exam room was comfortable and I was able to set up my laptop and work remotely. We were able to get the abscess lanced and drained quickly once she was taken back. I expected the higher cost as it was an emergency clinic - I mean, it is an ER for pets. They were so busy, even having to refer walk-INS to other clinics, and if more critically injured pets took precedence and made my wait longer I completely understand! I'm just grateful they were available to us. Thank you! The front staff was exceptionally helpful, patient, and nice. The vet was nice too. I would give 5 stars but when estimated wait times are 8-10 hours (and you have to be there the whole time) it might be time to hire some more vets. :)

We appreciated the entire staff's professionalism, honesty about our pet's situation, compassion for his dignity, & genuine kindness. Being a teaching hospital, you not only have access to board-certified surgeons; by choosing IndyVet, you help train the next generation of animal health care professionals. ER wait times after the initial assessment can be a bit long at night for minor emergencies since patients in critical condition need attention before those in a stable state. Additionally, the evening staff is likely sparser than the day shift, so patient per staff member ratio can be fairly high. CONCLUSION: Holistically a good experience, and we will gladly choose IndyVet for future ER visits

Yes there is long wait times if your pet isn’t critical but that is because they take the critical patients and work on them first and yes it is expensive but they make sure you are informed on the costs there is no pop up fee that you weren’t expecting. We had to rush our puppy in when we found him lethargic and unable to walk . The staff was reassuring and took him back immediately. They explained every detail to us and didn’t perform any testing without going over the cost. There were not any surprise bills.. he had to spend the night and we were able to give him goodbye logins. I did have to call and get an update on Saturday since our pet spent the night, but it was a Saturday. The vet called me once she had an update and he was able to be released. The staff was outstanding.. A bit pricey… yes… but worth saving our family member… yes. Just like taking your child to the emergency room. Highly recommend

The emergency vet is no one's favorite place to be. In our experience, we drove our five-month-old puppy from Bloomington to IndyVet for seizure-like activity. Everyone on staff that evening was so gracious, understanding, and knowledgeable. Although we did not end up diagnosing a reason for our puppy's neurological symptoms, we felt informed and educated every step of the way. Night and day difference from what we experienced at the VCA on 96th Street! All of the staff was patient, kind, and sympathetic to what we were going through with our dog Rudy and his neurological issues. IndyVet was SO thorough in going over everything, from the results to the next steps. The VCA on 96th wouldn't even test Rudy with everything he has going on, essentially saying he seemed fine when we knew that wasn't the case. The follow up has been excellent, and much appreciated. Our cat Bruce fell ill on a Wednesday night. Bruce was at our local vet from Thursday to Saturday at midnight, when our local vet called and stated Bruce could either be put down or transferred elsewhere because there was nothing else they could do for him. When Indy Vet received Bruce around 2AM on Saturday he was on his death bed. Indy Vet was able to diagnose the problem, put a treatment plan into effect, get Bruce stabilized, and we took Bruce home Monday night, within 44 hours of Indy Vet receiving him. It was a long road to recovery, but Bruce is back to acting like a healthy spire young feline. He's playing more and jumping higher than he ever did before! We are so grateful to Indy Vet for saving our baby!! We cannot thank them enough.

I love bringing my dog here when I have issues. My dog presented with a bleeding tumor in his mouth and the whole team was kind and caring and shows so much love for boy. It took a few hours for him to get seen by the dogtor (understandably) but every half hour or so one of the girls from the desk would come and check on us and see if we needed anything. Our 15 year old dog Sandy, was not doing very good & our regular vet was already gone for the day. So we took her to IndyVet to be seen. We talked with the doctor & came to the conclusion that it was best to go ahead with having her put to sleep as we didn't want her to suffer. The doctor & staff were very compassionate & caring to both us & our dog during a very hard time. They allowed us to spend as much time as we needed to say goodbye, & my sweet baby passed away so peacefully.

IndyPet offered such a great experience. I had to come in at midnight knowing I would spend all night there. The staff was so nice and helpful all the way through. I was nervous about my cats health, but they listened to everything I had to say. They even had a tv in the emergency room to keep me awake. I did spend 4 hours there, but that is what is expected at a 24 hour emergency vet. I will definitely come back for another emergency.

This is why you call IndyVet... Our sweet boy Huey played with some Stargazer lilies we received over the Holiday. I've been a cat owner for many years and unfortunately it escaped my memory how poisonous these plants are to cats. Lillies are in fact *deadly* to cats, even the pollen - and often you wont realize what has happened until the symptoms are evident. We noticed the yellow stains of the pollen on his face and suddenly realized we had a very serious emergency. First - you should know this is a very serious toxin and you can't take the attitude of "wait and see" - literally every hour counts. It was of course a Sunday, and in the midst of the Corona Virus pandemic. Our local emergency clinic was closed because of the virus and they referred us to IndyVet who are open 24/7 365 days a year. I live an hour away in Bloomington, and rushed him in and they triaged him immediately. The staff was so caring and professional, and the veterinarians were totally professional and so supportive. Most of all, IndyVet saved our boy and we have him at home again. Thank god for all the great staff and doctors at IndyVet! Without them we could have lost our sweet buddy.

They have amazing specialists here. Dr. Gillespie has offered immense comfort and compassion for my FelV/FIV+ cat, and Dr. Leslie Moore was a gaurdian angel for my precious kitten with complex congenital defects...we both felt so comforted in Dr. Moore's care! I couldn't begin to thank them enough. For the 4 times I've had to use emergency services, I've been less satisfied and would recommend using only in serious emergencies and when regular vets are unavailable. By nature of the ER, they cannot easily provide the comprehensive care and whole-patient perspective as one who is already familiar with your pet. The high prices are difficult, but I'd pay whatever I can afford for my priceless furbabies.

Indyvet has always taken excellent care of our cat. Despite many health issues over the last couple of years, we have never encountered a vet who wasn't professional and kind. Despite the ER being VERY busy during our most recent visit, the vet took her time with us and we never felt rushed or pressured to make any decisions. My angle was seen immediately on arrival. They even had notes from the call I made telling them I was on my way. They took my little girl and held her with such love and care. They took her back and immediately placed us in a room. The vet came in to speak to us and explained everything so clearly. He had so much compassion in his voice and you could tell he genuinely cared. The techs we seen and the front staff were just as amazing. I couldn't have asked to be surrounded by more caring and loving people at such a difficult time. Our little one did not make it through the night, but I have no doubt in my heart that she was well taken care of and treated with the same love and affection she had at home. To all the staff, the tech and the vet that worked the evening of 9/11 and early hours of 9/12 thank you for taking such amazing care of my baby girl. You have so many patients to care for. At the time we were there you made me feel like we were the only ones and that Tia was your priority. Very long wait times, understandable considering they are a 24/7 vet hospital. They took my dog in immediately after being attacked and provided excellent care. I could not continue to bring him in for after-care though due to the unexpected wait times and no appointments. The front office staff was very friendly. The friendliness of the staff was great and they took care of my pet but would only bring my dog back if it were an emergency.

We had to bring our dog in recently - late at night and we had an hour drive from south of Indy but we felt it couldn't wait. The receptionists on staff were incredibly kind. The techs were thorough and patient. Dr. Kuechle saw our dog and I was very, very pleased for how attentive and detail-oriented he was, especially given the late hour. We did have to wait for a couple of hours for our dog to be seen, and ended up being there for 5 hours total, but considering it was the middle of the night at an emergency department, I figure that is to be expected. And yes, the cost was nothing to sneeze at, but again for emergency care, I am actually surprised that we didn't pay more. I have no complaints about our experience.

Indy Vet was there for us in our time of need! The prices are honestly not that bad for being an Animal Hospital! Unfortunately I didn't have $1,600 for my little guy to be admitted! They did however send us home when we was ready an felt confident we could care for our guy! The receptionist! She was on 18 hrs an had a few more to go! She was very caring! I didn't appreciate the tech that brought my pup out! She didn't explain anything! Just handed me the paper work an said here are the instructions! Dyezal had a fluid pack under his skin! I had never seen one before! She very rudely said what it was, handed the paper work an walked away!

Very nice place. My cat had explosive diarrhea and I drove from Bloomington to get the emergency visit. They got a great system to figure things out and everyone there was super nice and sweet. They said the wait time would be 4-5 hours, which is actually the diagnosing and treating time :) Got home with meds, some cans and great advise! My cat is doing better just after 12 hours! About 8 months ago I brought my dog Tod into see Dr. Woods. From day one the front office staff, Dr. Woods and Erica (vet tech) have been absolutely amazing. Tod was diagnosed with lymphoma and honestly thought I was going to have to put him down. Dr. Woods carefully lined up a treatment plan and answered/reassured all the questions I had for this difficult journey. We were able to start treatment immediately. They saved Tod's life and returned his quality of life to right back to normal. I had an appointment every Tuesday for about 7 months and the consistency with treatment and how they took care of Tod was incredible. They truly treated Tod and I like we were part of their family and you could really tell just how much they really cared about their line of work. Dr. Woods is one of the best veterinary oncologists in the country and I would trust her with any animal. A lot of times emergency vet hospitals have a heavy case load and are slammed. I never felt rushed or pushed to make any decision I wasn't comfortable with. I highly recommend this office. Being a dentist I completely understand the type of emotions that health professionals can deal with on a daily basis. Thank you guys and I truly can't say just how much I appreciate everything!!

While in the waiting room we had to witness a very difficult client give one of the receptionists a very tough time. The receptionist handled it so well despite the client being relentless. I just felt as if she really deserved props and her professionalism should be noted. I wish I would've gotten her name so she could get proper recognition. The service and "bedside manner" was so great. They were helpful with us having been a little unsure of the dog's info as we were pet sitting. Dr. K was thorough with us and was honest yet reassuring. The dog's condition was considered emergency and they took her immediately for care, which was so appreciated.

My puppy swallowed a nice size bully stick bone and it obstructed her airway. I was turn away from 4 other emergency animal hospitals until I came to IndyVet. They had a 10 hour wait but still immediately took my pup in when we arrived and started to help her. The staff was all extremely friendly and caring. Took really good care of my dog. Was given thorough instructions and medications to help my dog heal. They've patched up my dogs a few times over the last 16 years and me and my dogs are always satisfied. Facility has always been clean and the staff friendly. The personal care they have given my dogs can't be beat. To the people who have left one star reviews because of price, get over it, it's an emergency vet clinic, pets can be as expensive as kids and if you complain about what it costs to save your pet, then maybe you shouldn't have one.

Don’t even walk in the front door if you don’t have $1,200 already in your pocket. That being said, I luckily did. The staff here is so friendly and kind. They immediately took my baby back and within half an hour were doing surgery to save her. They even cater to your pets emotionally by finding out their temperament, what triggers they may have, what gives them anxiety, etc. This place saved my baby and that is worth every penny. Is this a good place to go? Absolutely! Is this a good place to go if your pet is not in a life or death situation? Mmmm it might be better, financially, to go to your own vet.

I seriously had the best visit I could have asked for that day. I was surprised at how all staff went out of their way to take care of me as well as my dog. It was a really stressful day, and I had to travel almost 2 hours to get there in order to have my dog seen by a vet the same day that I noticed he had swollen eyes. When I got there they said that it was a 4-6 hour wait. My heart sunk because I was in pain and I knew that if it took that long I wasn't sure where I would go in the meantime with my puppy. Driving home wouldn't have been an option, and I thought I'd have to keep my puppy entertained while staying in the car since he's not fully vaccinated. Going to a dog park would have been a risk to his health. Thank you, IndyVet, for giving us a comfortable room that he could play in and where I could leave him while I grabbed water and coffee during our stay. All staff were the friendliest people, and they put me at ease. In the end, I only waited about 2.5 hours for the vet to see my puppy! We were out of there in under 3.5 hours! I was so happy and got home much sooner than expected! I have raved about IndyVet multiple times on social media and by word of mouth because it was a bad circumstance that was turned into a wonderful experience. I now have a perfectly healthy puppy and very good memories through that one visit! Again, thank you so much! The staff made me feel like I was at home! They were so kind and comforting. They went out of their way to be hospitable and professional! This is the best place I could have been that day.

I was referred here by my local vet about my kitty Olivia. The staff and vets were extremely kind, thorough and knowledgeable about everything going on with my sweet Olivia when she became sick. When I had to put her down, Dr Z was very caring in helping me deal with everything and in caring for her in her last days. They gave me guidance and support every step of the way and I appreciate the kindness. The only bad thing was the long wait time when we first arrived, but that is expected at an animal hospital when lots of people are needing to be seen. Overall, a good experience with compassionate staff who care about your pets.

Professional staff, clean facility, .. issue our dog was hit by a car taken there after our local vet in terre haute called and they said bring him in. You guys didn't even have any surgeons on call, I felt he was referred to another hospital to soon as they didn't feel he needed surgery and he was stable when your vet said he was not stable and gave us decisions to put our 2 year old baby down or transfer 25 min away for emergency surgery. So we had to pay almost $4,000 for pain meds and observation and sent to another vet hospital where they did the same thing and charged us double !!!! Such a roller coaster of emotions and 2 completely different opinions in a matter of 25 minutes and almost $10,000 later that we don't have. Appreciated the concern for Mack and love her got shown but not having a surgeon on call in a big hospital..ridiculous.... having to pay same cost for same treatment at another hospital also ridiculous ... obviously and thankfully our baby just needed some time and rest for his internal issues .. ty Mack's family

The reception team, techs, nurses etc. were awesome and showed my Gary great care and loved on him when I could not be around. All of the medical staff were amazing and caring and patient. They answered all of my questions and listened to all of my concerns. When I asked for recommendations on what to do, they were were able to talk me through the care options. And when I was able to go pick up my buddy, they again answered all of my questions, repeated when I needed it, and spent as much time as I needed with me. The only negative was the staff that helped with administrative things. They were kind, but also didn't help with the speed of things. I had the actual veterinarian check on me twice after we decided to admit my buddy and said she would remind the front desk to come do my paperwork. How in the world does the one very busy vet have time to check on us but the seven support staff take over an hour to do intake paperwork that honestly only took us 5 minutes to complete once they finally came in? Everyone has bad days, and for me it didn't matter if it took us 8 hours (which is what it took this time) or 2 hours... the care he received and the every single medical staff serving my buddy were incredible and caring. I 5000% would go back there again, without hesitation!

My cat, Ghost, unfortunately had to stay in the hospital for 6 days, and then we had to come back for another night later in the week. I was nervous at first to leave him somewhere for such a long period of time, so I would call to check on him during the night (like 2am because I couldn't sleep due to my worrying ways!) and although I tried to not be a burden by calling, the staff was always so kind to me and let me know how Ghost was doing, if he ate, if he was acting like himself, etc. They told me a few times they would sit with him and pet him (he is very affectionate) to hear him purring. I was so happy to know they were actively caring for him and trying their best to comfort him. Since Ghost stayed for so long, we interacted with a few different vets who were extremely helpful and spent a long time talking with us over the phone about what options we had and explaining his disease, then how we can manage it to make him comfortable and happy. As with any medical treatment, it was costly to keep him here for so long... but the quality of treatment, care given, and nice facilities were worth it to know my cat was getting the best medical help we could offer him. When we left with Ghost, the staff said goodbye to him (even the front desk!) and said they loved having him. < 3 The compassion of the employees is wonderful.

It could have been the night, the doctor seemed very rushed, but he still took his time explaining what might be going on with my dog. We had to bring him back the next night and the same doctor was there, this time, he seemed less stressed. Hopefully I don't have any other emergencies but if I do, I'd still bring my dog(s) there. The tech on Saturday night that discharged my little guy was thorough, very helpful and not rushed at all to get to the next patient; she seemed to really love each dog and added to knowing he was truly cared for in the back. I did wait a very long time for everything except getting in a room, so just bring a book, a snack and your patience, they're doing the best they can.

Two of our three Shih-Tzu had a little spat that was over quickly. No big deal. Then I saw blood coming from the eye of the oldest. Looked bad so off to IndyVet Emergency Hospital we went. Thirty minutes later we were there. Checked in less than 5 minutes we were in an exam room then Teddy was taken on to another exam room. About 30 minutes later the surgeon came to me and explained Teddy’s eye injury. He said the eye needs to be REMOVED!! They will do the surgery at 2 to 3 am. Teddy will be able to go home early afternoon tomorrow. This is a out patient surgery. Teddy is home and doing WELL!! If you have a pet that needs emergency medical care INDYVET EMERGENCY HOSPITAL is the place to go.

I don't even know where to start. Absolutely WONDERFUL experience- even though the reason for the visit was tough. My Cane Corso displayed signs/symptoms of an intestinal blockage (he's had surgery in the past for this) The reception staff were wonderful and got us into a room as quickly as possible (CC are a very protective breed and he will "activate" on other dogs or shady people). Technicians were wonderful, but many props to Dr. Jones. Just wonderful communication skills. Very clear and direct, yet charming. It was an extremely busy night for them. It's something you all NEED to remember as clients. This is an ER. They triage well. I was there from 3:20 pm until 11:50 pm. There were more urgent "patients" than my dog. Trust the staff here...they know what they're doing. I appreciate the free coffee- sent from heaven above- but most of all, I appreciate that the staff here were just as concerned for Max as I was. Clients...remember to have patience and be polite. The staff are genuinely concerned for your pet's well-being and will do their best to help. Be part of the solution, not part of the problem. So grateful for this vet! I found a cat (Sir Julius Yowler) that had been abandoned in my neighborhood. He was hurt and underfed and IndyVet was able to get him in and offer care immediately. The staff was so welcoming both to myself and Sir Julius, and the doctor and tech did a great job of caring for the little guy and explaining to me what they found every step of the way. Additionally, in the initial days of Sir Julius's recovery I called regularly with questions, and they were always happy to take the time to answer. I’m very pleased with the level of care that my cat received. She started vomiting blood late on a Saturday and I was referred here by her regular vet. Though it did take a few hours of sitting and waiting in the exam room (to be expected at an emergency clinic), the vet and vet techs were very friendly and kind, answering all of my questions and making sure I understood the treatment plan. They made my baby feel better and got her the care she needed. It was expensive but human emergency care is also expensive. I’m just happy she was taken care of and that my mind was put at ease.

My only complaint was the 4 hour wait before we were able to be seen with nobody checking in on us or our dog (which is understandable, especially during these times, but a check-in every hour or so would be appreciated). All of the girls seemed to truly have my dog's best interest in mind, and the cost was excellent, too. We have been at IndyVet for 4 hours. My cat has extreme anxiety, and we were going to wait with him in our car if it looked like there were a lot of other animals in the waiting room. But they told us they could get us back in a room right away so we went ahead and brought him in. Flash forward and everyone in the rooms around us are waiting with their kitties in their rooms... Our cat was taken before we came back to the room and at first we were excited because we thought that he would be seen sooner and not have to wait as long. But it turns out that he will be waiting a long time, just without us in an unfamiliar space by himself. Keep in mind, he's so anxious we considered not even bringing him physically into the building til it was his turn. I don't understand why everyone around us has their cats and their rooms, but ours is gone. We were told my cat's treatment would start over an hour and a half ago and then we could check out... But when we went to ask for an update (nobody has come to check on us in quite a while) they told us that they were just THEN going to administer his medicine. After we called, things moved more quickly. It seemed like once we added pressure they sped up, but I don't understand why that was necessary. He's a painfully anxious animal, why wouldn't you try to get him returned home as quickly as possible?

I had to bring my 12 year old tabby in when he was puking and wouldn’t eat or drink. He had kidney disease so I was very concerned. His blood work came back and the vet said they were off the charts and his kidneys were failing. At the time, it sounded like she thought treatment could buy him some time. Unfortunately I did not have the $2500 for the deposit, and my parents did not want to pay it. We had to choose euthanasia. I really struggled with the decision in the weeks following because I thought if I had the money I could have saved him. I asked to speak with a vet at this office to ask some questions. I had someone from the office call me to discuss his case, and she told me it’s the highest kidney values she’d ever seen in her career and even if I had millions of dollars any treatment would have just delayed the inevitable and made him suffer longer than necessary. This was honestly a huge relief. He was like my best friend, and having him spiral so rapidly and thinking there was a chance to save him left me with a lot of guilt. I really appreciated getting to discuss his case, and it will really help me with the grieving process. I will definitely return here if I’m ever in the unfortunate position of having to take a pet to an emergency vet.

Seriously the best veterinary care I have ever experienced, I have had to bring three of my four animals here within the last year (it's been a rough year). Each visit was under incredibly terrifying circumstances (1st time - my dog Sammy was having immense neck and spine pain, yelping in pain constantly, 2nd time - my cat Xavier had an extreme urinary blockage, 3rd time - my dog Lady was vomiting profusely and needed emergency surgery for a blockage in her intestines). Every single time we went to IndyVet every single person we encountered was incredibly patient, kind, and communicative. It is the most caring veterinary environment I have ever taken my animals to, all of the techs and doctors were so gentle with my animals and took such amazing care when examining and handling them. Throughout the entire process I was told exactly what was happening, all of the possible diagnoses the doctors were investigating, and all of the possible plans for treatment and what the cost breakdown would be. Speaking of cost - they were excellent at predicting accurate cost estimates and were very up front and and mindful of financial limitations (which unfortunately for a grad student like myself, is a consideration when seeking veterinary care). Even when the hospital was extremely busy, everyone was incredibly kind and helpful and made sure I was informed about the care of my pets. You can tell that every person there really cares about the wellness of your animals and genuinely likes helping them (which sadly isn't always the case for all veterinary clinics). For every single visit, Dr. Kuechle was the doctor who took on our cases, and I could not ask for a more caring and knowledgable doctor. He is so incredibly kind and gentle with animals, and was so informative and made all of our visits way less stressful and terrifying. I cannot thank everyone at IndyVet enough - I am so grateful to you all for saving the lives of our animals, thank you for everything you do.

The Staff was very friendly and kind - The drink station was a blessing and the selection was very nice. The wait time was very long - I do understand it is an emergency clinic and the most seriously injured need to be seen first and i certainly do not want anyone's babies to not get the life saving help they need... but it was almost 2 hrs. until my dog was seen...then it was 4 hours until I received a response and then it was 11 hrs. until I was able to take him home. That was a long day. In the end i spend 800+ dollars and did not have a diagnosis... just gave him nausea meds and told me to give him bland diet and sent home 4 nausea pills. That was a lot of money for x-rays and blood work and no conclusion. was told if he didn't get better to go to the vet. The staff did explain the bill to me and did obtain my approval prior to proceeding - i told them yes - as i wanted to do all i could for my baby to live. Just feel it is a bit expensive and a very long wait. You may consider having more dr. in the clinic to handle high volume days then it would make more sense to charge so much. with all that said - I will return as i have been here several times prior and it is nice to have 24hr. services available when an emergency happens. Kind staff that truly seem to care about my animal and that is the most important thing!

Yesterday my 1 year old cat was having extreme difficulties breathing. Until then he had been 100% healthy so of course I panicked and took him to the vet. I called many places and this was the only place that would take him. From the moment I got there they welcomed me with open arms and started relieving my anxiety a little at a time. They did an X-ray, blood test, and proscribed a total of four medications and then sent an additional two home with us for $730. He also spent a few hours in an oxygen tank. I’m very very very grateful for all of the vets and technicians that took care of my sweet boy. Easily I found IndyVet Emergency Clinic online when traveling with my cat. I called ahead of time to ask about insurance companies accepted. The next day we came into the clinic and we're pleased with the care. One thing I would suggest is to come up with a way to silence the closing doors. The employees are probably used to the sounds but to anxious pets and pet parents it is disturbing.

The whole staff was completely amazing!! They literally saved our Bella, she was in really bad shape when I brought her in and they literally took her to get her temp and her vitals before I had even finished the paperwork. She stayed there for 3 days and was never alone. They called at least twice a day to update us and told us we could call in whenever we had any questions or if we just wanted to check in on her. This place is incredible! We had to take our boxer in this past Monday as she couldn't walk, and they advised her spine had deteriorated and the treatment she would need was medication she was already on for arthritis. The vet did advise of a surgical option, but was upfront and stated we cannot guarantee it would work.. At that time we made the difficult decision for Sasha to cross over the Rainbow Bridge. Everyone at this Vet's office was so caring and understanding as we were losing our beloved pet. They were by us through the whole process and never rushed us on telling Sasha good bye. I would highly recommend if you ever need an emergency vet.

I made the drive from Madison to Indy Vet last month for one final opinion on my cat, Agnes, who was suffering with seizures that had become violent. I knew there was a strong possibility I would have to say goodbye to her that day, but wanted to know I exhausted all options in trying to save her. From the second I walked in the door to my walk out of the facility I was shown nothing but kindness and compassion. I’m not sure who the reception was that day, but she deserves an award for her kindness. She immediately called a triage vet to come take a look at Agnes who then took Agnes to the back for fluids. My wait time was longer than I wanted it to be, but the vet was amazing. He helped me understand that the best decision I could make was to let Agnes go and to end her suffering. He spoke nothing but kind words of Agnes (other vets were not so kind about her) and shared a quote about love for animals when I had to say goodbye. On my way out the door the reception gave me a look to say she was sorry for my loss. Even though my only experience with IndyVet was having to tell my cat goodbye, the staff and vet made that difficult decision so much easier by showing compassion and love for the animals and people they serve.

I love this place and staff! I can not say enough whatsoever about the staff! From walking into the waiting room which was extremely clean and no bad odors! The receptionist was incredibly sweet and fast to get a clinical nurse upfront to get us to a room. The nurse was very kind and sweet and informative. She asked what was going on with my baby. I explained that the flea spray we purchased from a pet store made her sick. She told us that she was taking my baby to get a bath. They brought her back to me in a warm towel. She was completely tired and relaxed. The doctor who was also informative came in while my baby was getting her bath and explained what was going on. He wanted her to stay the night to keep an eye on here. It was extremely hard to leave her but, I KNEW SHE WAS IN GOOD HANDS! I seriously love this place and FULLY recommend this wonderful place to anyone and their fur babies!

I have an 11 week old puppy that was not doing well. They were the closest place for an emergency vet which was a little over an hour drive, being I knew nothing of the area and was a little worried what kind if place I could be taking my fur baby to yet I just needed someone to save him I had felt. I am shocked to see all the bad reviews for IndyVet! My experience was nothing like the rest I have read. My personal vet was unable to identify the issue with my kitty so they told me to rush to this location ASAP. Upon arrival they immediately retrieved my cat and put her on oxygen (she was struggling to breath). The vet came in and described to me that she had fluid in her chest and abdomen, which my vet didn't detect. The vet went out of her way to show proof to me and the samples of the fluid retrieved. I was only given a few options and was understanding because my cat was 18+ years. When I decided to put my cat to sleep and out of her misery, they allowed us to be in a private comfortable room together. They did a complimentary casket and paw/face prints for me too. It was one of the most traumatic times of my life, but I could tell that Dr. Z genuinely cared. A few weeks later, I received a card in the mail with personal hand written notes from IndyVet and Dr. Z. The only complaint I have is I wish I could have been with my cat more during the testing and identifying what was wrong. I would have liked to been able to comfort her during that.

The vets and techs are very good, however, there are extremely long wait times which would be fine if you were not locked in the exam room. A suggestion is to allow people to go to their cars if it is going to be 1+ hours and then call the individual when it is time to come in. Of course, this is only if that will work for their pets. I didn’t realize how long I would be locked in this exam room and I really needed something to drink and to charge my phone....especially with 2 hours in between seeing a person. I also think it would be good to provide the pet a dish for water if appropriate for the situation. Part of why I brought my cat in was for dehydration. My pets health is worth it, but it would make it easier on all of us.

My English bulldog had major surgery there. I live 3 hrs round trip from there. I got no less than 2 phone calls a day from them everyday while he was there. After his procedure they let me take my dog to my local vet for checkups after his surgery. They stayed in contact with my dog, including emails & pics of his progress. They called me for the week follow up and have checked on him since. I can’t say enough about the great care by the receptionists, nurses & surgeons. I would HIGHLY recommend this place. I hope I never have to go there again, but if I do, they are AWESOME!!!

Our vet referred us here, due to our newly adopted puppy being so sick. We were greeted warmly, our puppy was immediately taken in the back and treatment began. The vet was very kind, as we worked through the emotions of our dog being so sick. They ran the tests, and found the root of all of her problems: hypothyroid... this was causing all of her other issues. They fixed her up. She is now healing very well. I was impressed with the facilities, the staff (all of them were wonderful, kind, and very supportive), and the care they showed. They are a little spendy, but you get what you pay for, and we will def be using them again!!

I had to go up there for ultra sound to see what was going on with my dog. I explained the situation and after a very observation of my dog. I had to make a tough choice of putting my beloved fur child down cause the dog was worse then I had I suspected. In making my decision the staff and doctors were very caring and understanding and helped get through it. They even moved my dog to a bigger room with a blanket and let spend as much time as I needed with her before the actual procedure and even asked if I needed more time. When it actually came down to it they explained everything very clear and checked several times to make sure I was ok. I would recommend them to anybody that is seeking a vet emergency. After a little less than a week they had received my dog back after cremation and when I went to pick her they were so caring and sweet. After a couple days the staff and Doctors sent me a very sweet card with a poem and lovely words for comfort and my dogs paw print and nose print. Such a great caring helpful staff and hospital.

Last Sunday my six month Old English Sheepdog, Emma, necessitated an emergency visit to IndyVet due to partially eating a compact florescent light bulb. Dr. Westrick provided excellent care and extraordinary follow up service calling multiply times to check on Emma's progress. Emma's emergency has "passed" and she is joyfully on to other misadventures. That wasn't my first visit to IndyVet. For the last six months Dr. Klein has been caring for my one year old Golden Retriever, Kate. Shortly after her first birthday Kate lost vision first in her right eye then in her left. I'm pleased and grateful to report that under Dr. Klein's care Kate has regained more than functional vision in both eyes and is once again exhibiting the playful, puppy like behaviors I find so endearing and thought were lost forever. Only Charley my gentle three year old male Golden with impeccable manners has escaped an emergency visit to a vet. However, it is comforting to know that, should the need arise, excellent, compassionate care is available locally at IndyVet. After writing the above, I read other reviews posted. I must say that the negative comments I read definitely DO NOT reflect the care I received at IndyVet. I found the staff compassionate, the care excellent, and the cost in line with what similar treatment cost at my regular vet .

So my sweet (dumb) dog, Harper, ate a corn cob. We didn't know if it went down whole or if she chewed it- and I was headed to MedVet when my brother said IndyVet was closer. Audrey, the vet tech who came in to get Harper's history was amazing. She was very thorough and got down on Harper's level to make her feel more comfortable. (Audrey gets a 5-star!!) Dr. Brooke Matusiak was fabulous. Of all the vets I talked to she was the most personable and when new information was available she was quick to talk to me. (Dr. Matusiak gets a 5-star!!) I was contacted by a vet tech the next day to schedule a time to pick up my dog before even hearing from anyone the results of my dog's follow-up xrays and if she was going to need surgery for a bowel obstruction. I know they're busy and short-staffed but those phone calls really put your techs in tough spots to answer questions. One improvement would be to email an after visit summary and an itemized bill. I got an email receipt showing my deposit and an email receipt showing a refund since she didn't need surgery...so an after visit summary and an itemized bill shouldn't be too difficult.

Warning: long, yet necessary review! First, I want to say that we were actually referred somewhere else, but we chose IndyVet because of a story I've followed from day one about a dog named "Justice." I knew that if they could save this dog who was obviously dying, they were more than capable of being trusted to care for our boy. We took our epileptic GSD to IndyVet to see Dr. Kelli Mossine (Neurologist.) Our visit started off rough as Technician Ashley Gayle came out to get our boy to bring him into his visit via curbside pickup. Our baby has never been away from us and being a German Shepherd who had a rough few days prior, I was more than nervous at how he'd handle being taken away by complete strangers. I walked them into the building before leaving his side and once he noticed that I turned around to go back to the car, he dropped to the floor and became visibly terrified. This caused me to break down and cry, fearing how they'd ever be able to perform his neurological tests if he can't even handle me leaving the receptionist area. That said, Technician Ashley was PHENOMENAL with him!! She not only managed to earn his trust, but quickly became his best buddy. She had warned me that they may only be able to perform the first set of tests on him because of how nervous he initially was, but to my surprise, they not only performed that set of tests, but all of them in a very timely fashion! Before I knew it, Dr. Mossine was calling me to tell me that Crimmy not only did well, but he aced all of his tests! She let me know that I could stop worrying, as Crimmy was really clinging to Miss Ashley! She stated that he kept "looking up to her like, did I do that right?! How'd I do?!" When Miss Ashley brought him out to the truck, he was an entirely different boy! He did better than I could have ever imagined and I truly believe if not for Miss Ashley and Dr. Mossine's knowledge of the breed, along with time and patience, this appointment would have never been so successful. My biggest regret is not bringing our precious baby here sooner! Dr. Mossine has a wealth of knowledge and shares every single detail with you. She takes as much time as you need to make sure you not only understand everything, but shares so much information with you that you likely never knew. I personally thought I knew quite a bit about canine epilepsy, as I've dedicated my life over the last year to researching everything and anything that I can to know as much as possible to help our baby the best that we possibly can. That said, we left there with so many notes, new ways to do things and how to do it and the best thing is, she takes the time necessary to write EVERYTHING down for you so have it when you need it most! We are feeling more confident than ever now, reassured that they will forever be on this journey with us! Our baby will be a lifetime patient at IndyVet and we are elated to continue learning from his new medical team! This amazing Doctor is nothing short of a valuable asset, one that ANYONE would be lucky to have to lead their medical team for any neurological issue! We couldn't ever imagine going anywhere else or seeing another set of professionals. From check-in to check-out, we were treated like the only patient within the facility. They managed to not only calm Momma's nerves, but taught me that they are the professionals and I need to learn to trust them with our baby, no matter how difficult that may be for me. I can assure anyone looking to come to the Neurology department at IndyVet, DO IT - you will have no regrets!! We feel so very blessed to have Dr. Mossine and Miss Ashley leading our epilepsy journey and are confident with their knowledge and ability, we have the very best chance of our baby living a long and manageable life, despite these terrible seizures. If I could say one last thing, it'd be "thank you from the bottom of our hearts to both Dr. Mossine and Miss Ashley. You two will never know how much our family appreciates everything you've done to show us that you care for Crimmy just as much as we do."

This facility does a fine job dealing with many different, at times very critical, needs of pets (and their caregivers). The doctor that worked the case was terrific. She was sympathetic to the issues surrounding the case, but also honest and direct, which was clearly necessary. All options for care were presented in a sensitive, objective manner, allowing decisions to be made without feeling pressured or under duress, which allows the best outcome for the individual pet family. Treatment course is outlined objectively, along with all possible outcomes. This is a good place to go when you think your pet needs some immediate care.
