When my pet died he was honestly like my best friend, I was devastated absolutely just didn’t want to get out of bed so depressed and didn’t know where to bury her at. She was a member of the family I couldn’t just throw her in the trashcan and because I live in an apartment complex I could exactly bury her in the backyard either. It was just another devastating blow that I didn’t know how to handle. This pet Hospital is in walking distance from where I live and I pass it every day so I thought maybe I would go in and ask if they knew what the laws were here in Houston about burying a pet. They were extremely kind and understanding. They offered to cremate her and let us have the ashes. It was much more affordable than I thought it would be. And they were just so extremely kind and empathetic that I really wish I had come here sooner. I highly recommend this clinic for all your domestic pet needs.

I recently visited this vet clinic for my furry friend's dental cleaning and teeth extraction, and I must say that I'm impressed with the quality of service they provided. The prices are extremely reasonable, and the staff showed a genuine love and care for animals. I've been to other vet clinics in the area, but this one truly stands out for its affordability and compassionate approach towards pets. I appreciated that they didn't try to overcharge me for anything, and they were transparent about the costs of any additional services that I could opt for. It's obvious that the team at this clinic is dedicated to providing excellent care for pets, and they go above and beyond to make sure both the pets and their owners feel comfortable and valued. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this vet clinic to anyone looking for affordable and high-quality care for their pets. Keep up the great work!

I was so sad when Dr. Taylor retired b/c he took care of our babies for years. But Dr. Ruterbories is my new favorite! She and the staff took such good care of my kitty! They are very kind, informative, and patient with me as well. They even gave me a discount! AND Dr. Ruterbories called me HERSELF to check on my kitty the next day. Absolutely loved the amazing care. Brought in my very anxious cat for full exam. Put us in a room straight away. Vet and tech were excellent with her and were able to put her on her back for the leg exams. She didn’t even hiss. Took their time and answered all my questions. Even cleaned the carrier since she had an accident. Highly recommended.

I’m so grateful to Prestonwood Animal Hospital for being open on a Saturday. My Shih Tzu had been experiencing gastrointestinal distress all night on a Friday. It was pretty bad. I called my existing vet; however, they were not available, and did not provide any other emergency options. I called Prestonwood literally at 8:01a and they told me that they’d have to work us into their schedule, to come to their office and wait for a room. I arrived to their office at 9:00a, and they immediately assigned us a room and commenced to care for my pet. Prestonwood Animal Hospital is an excellent facility with s staff who is both professional and kind.

We have been using VCA for years and recently moved to the area and we really like this clinic. They offer lots of services and are very knowledgable. They are definately not a low cost clinic but I have also been to clinics that are more expensive. We would rather pay more and have the amount of detail and follow up they provide. We have 4 dogs and 3 cats and also love that this clinic provides ER services during the day too.

Best vet in town. Been with them through 4 dogs and 20 plus years. The best. Just went for my English bull terrier yearly and she is a tough cookie to handle and they treat her like all the other dogs. Can't say enough about these folks. Her regular doctor was busy but the young man that took care of is did great.

My wife and I recently brought in our new puppy for his initial vet visit and shots. My wife had utilized this clinic years ago with her older dog, but this was my first time to visit. I was immediately impressed by both the facility and the staff. The facilities were clean and comfortable. Everyone there with whom we interacted were both very nice and extremely professional. I adore this office and every single team member! They treat my pets like their own; none of my pets are ever nervous to go to the vet bc they are treated so lovingly every time we go in. Shoutout to Dr. Ramsbacher: she is an expert in feline health, great at explaining medical conditions, is a creative problem solver, (especially when my picky cat refuses to take medicine) and you can tell she truly cares about her furry patients :) Overall, prices are reasonable and transparently communicated. I have been taking my cat here for almost a year and I’ve never felt pressured to buy anything or had unnecessary services crammed down my throat. Staff here are friendly, professional and it’s apparent that everyone here really likes what they do. 10/10 recommend.

I moved to the area and found Dr. Ramsbacher. She is wonderful. She takes her time not only with your pet but you as well. She helped me care for my dog, Gracie, and provided professionalism and compassion with Gracie's final days. It was one of the most difficult moments of my life saying goodbye to Gracie. Dr. Ramsbacher directed me to the right specialists and helped comfort me with the decision I made. The front desk staff are compassionate and patient. I haven’t been back since my visit. My bunny received great service and the vet was very knowledgeable when she was spayed, but I didn’t care for the changing of prices once I visited nor the lack of friendliness. I called and emailed and was quoted a price, even showed proof but they still over charged. It’s no problem though may not return.

Dr. P and Dr. K are very thorough and patient in explaining and answering my many questions. The staff treats my dog well. Have not felt like they're pushing a procedure down my throat or just wanting my money. Wished they have more availability and didn't have to wait 2-4 weeks to see my usual vet but I get that demand is high.

Everyone at the Clinic is very interested in your pet's health. They treat them like they would treat their own family pet. Very thorough exam of your pet with appropriate explanation of what is found or types of medication options available. Treatment plan is made in tandem with you after explanation of all options. The vets are very knowledgeable and personable. Nice and clean clinic. My dogs do not mind their visits to the vets. This is an excellent Clinics that I would recommend to anyone.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! The staff is very friendly...the second you walk in the door you are greeted and I have never had to sit and wait. I have 2 dogs- one who is very friendly with other people and one who gets scared easily in vet offices or boarding facilities. they are always very patient with my skiddish boy. The vet techs always give him treats and take the time to pet him and talk to him. The office and waiting rooms are very nice, and clean. the veterinarians are always very friendly, very patient and accommodating. I have taken my dogs there the last couple of years and with all the yearly shots, exam, tests and nail trim I am usually not there more than 30 minutes.....and best of all...their prices!!! Very affordable!! I will definitely continue to use this vet office, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good place!!

Prestonwood Animal Clinic is one of the best animal clinics I have been to. There are closer veterinarians around, but I don't mind traveling a little further because I know that I can trust Prestonwood. We have a rabbit and a dog and both animals are well taken care of at Prestonwood. The staff is very friendly. The vets are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about all animals. Hands down the best vet I've had for my fur babies. They saved my dog's life a few years back (when they were in the shopping center) that was attacked by another, much larger dog. I ran into their clinic, still in my socks, with my dog in my arms, with blood all over me, and they immediately took over and saved my dog's life. They didn't skip a beat. This is the best veterinarian office. I would drive hours to see them if I needed to. The staff at the counter is friendly and attentive. I have seen both the exotic veterinarian and the regular veterinarian. The exotic veterinarian sees my ferrets. She is moderately new to this location but she is great and I would highly recommend her. She takes time with your pets and listens to your concerns. She addresses the issues you bring up and I appreciate this. I have been taking my dog to 249 vet for the past 7 years but after my experience with my ferrets I felt I would recieve much better service at this location. My dog was calm when I brought her in and did not display any signs of fear when we left which is no longer the case at the other veterinarian office which I mentioned. We had our dog spayed last year and it was a disaster and I did not appreciate it. I brought my dog in for the first time when we had an emergency and she had gashed her arm jumping through a window. I called and they allowed me to immediately bring her. When we got there they saw us without a wait and got her stitched up quickly. When we returned to have her stitches removed they got her in an out quickly and she was still very calm for the experience. You will be hard pressed to find another veterinarian this great in Houston! Thanks guys!

We brought our 15 year old dog for his first visit. We were impressed with the professionalism and scope of services. They have laser treatments for his hips and started immediately. The staff was friendly and took their time helping us and explaining all our dog's health issues. The facility was modern and immaculate.

We have been using this clinic since we moved to Houston 9 years ago. Last year, our dog Oliver was diagnosed with Addison’s disease following a crisis. We didn’t realize, at first, how serious and expensive treatment of this disease was. After joining a support group and reading about the disease and treatment options, we discovered a low dose protocol. Dr Kennedy was open to trying it with us. From what I’ve heard from other owners, it’s difficult to find a DVM to agree to low dose. One year later, we have our normal dog back and are able to treat his disease for 1/4 the cost of standard protocol. Without the willingness of this clinic, we may not have been able to afford treatment. We are so thankful and appreciative for the care we receive here. This clinic is also reliable and priced reasonably for boarding. Would highly recommend this clinic to pet owners!

We absolutely love Prestonwood! We recommend them to everyone. They were there for us when we found out our dog had osteosarcoma. We amputated his leg and got another 9 months with him which wasn’t expected. We went in monthly for appointments between diagnosis to the time to put him down and I couldn’t have asked for a better vet. Dr. Ramsbacher is so compassionate, understanding, and patient.

The vet we'd used for years was great for administering annual vaccinations but was mediocre for any other care. We decided to try Prestonwood after reading their reviews. The staff is very hospitable, knowledgeable and it's evident that they genuinely care about your pet. Dr. Ramsbacher and Heath are superb! We are so grateful we found Prestonwood Animal Hospital after moving to the area 5 years ago. Our dog Lola was 9 at that time with a long list of problems: IMHA, diabetes, recovering from cataract surgery, just to name the big ones. With the conscientious and attentive care of Dr. Taylor, our Lola beat the odds and made it to age 14. When it was time to make the heartbreaking decision to put Lola to sleep, Dr. Taylor was by our side to help us through it. He was an excellent sounding board to help us know when the time was right. Recently my dog was diagnosed with severe health problems (osteosarcoma). Dr. Kennedy and the staff were exceptional. In my dog’s case she ended up having to have one of her legs amputated, along with a surgery to remove bladder stones. Two separate surgeries and multiple visits for diagnoses, medication, and follow-ups over the course of several months. I had multiple conversations with Dr Kennedy, in person and via phone, and always felt like he cared and wanted what was best for my dog, something i didn’t feel at other vets. I never felt rushed, he was honest, and the impression I got from him and the other staff was that they genuinely care, not just that they are looking to ‘upsell’. The surgeries my dog had to have, although major (full limb amputation!) were done exceptionally well, and she has recovered perfectly. I definitely recommend this clinic and Dr. Kennedy, as well as the rest of the staff.

Best Veterinary Clinic in Houston!! When I moved to Houston I had to find a new vet for my dogs, they had been going to the same vet for the past 7 years. I called, shopped around and visited so many vets, only to find the BEST doctor here at Prestonwood Animal Clinic. Dr. Ramsbacher is brilliant!! My boys have gone through a couple surgeries and yearly check ups, she checks everything to ensure their health. All around great docs and staff! Our new Houston vet for where we call home 🏡 🐾 *** Update 11/2020: This clinic is now owned by VCA, price gouging is possible since it is now part of a large corporation and is no longer a small business. Staff is still great as well as Vets, but be wary of price inflation 💸🏦

Dr. Taylor has been my vet for more years than I would like to recount. He has been the doctor to 8 of my dogs and has taken excellent care of each one. He is the only vet I trust with my animals, I know he cares deeply about each one. He went over and above to save one of my dogs when she got into rat poison, she went on to live a happy and full life and I am eternally grateful. It is obvious to me when I take my dogs to Dr. Taylor, and they are not afraid to go to the vet, that this is the right place for me.

I can't say enough about how wonderful my visit with this vet was. The facilities were clean, the staff was nice, and the vet we saw, Dr. Taylor, was wonderful, caring, thoughtful and thorough. We called for an appointment on 7/30, and they got us in for an appointment the next day, 7/31. I let them know that I found them on Angie's List and planned on using the coupon they offered on the Angie's List site. I told them I'd just adopted my cat two weeks ago, I believed it was around 9 months old, and it might have a small eye infection or ear infection, but I wasn't sure. The woman who answered the phone was very polite, but after I told her I was concerned about my cat having a little infection, she put me on hold, then came back on and said that the coupon offered on Angie's List was only for a "wellness checkup" and that the coupon wouldn't be applicable and the visit would be at least $48. I said, "Well, your coupon doesn't specify anything like that. It just says exams for first time customers are free." She put me back on hold, came back on and said they waived the fee and would see me at my appointment the next day. I thought that was a little strange, but they did the right thing and honored their coupon. We got the cat there five minutes before the appointment. We sat in the waiting room for about five minutes, and then we were taken back to a treatment room where another very sweet female employee carefully weighed the cat and checked a few things. She also swabbed the cat's ears and then she informed us the vet would be in in a few minutes. Just as she promised, the vet walked in with an assistant and his laptop and he greeted my mother and me with a handshake. He was so sweet with the cat, and gentle. He really took his time examining Lila. He was very friendly and informative, my mom and I learned a few things about cats we didn't know before. After about a half hour visit, we were packed and on our way with some drops for the cat's ears. The costs were to cover the testing of the cat's ear swab for infection and for the ear drops, which I thought was fair. I was VERY impressed and pleased with this vet's office, and I will return in the future.

I recently brought my dog in for his annual check-up and shots. I called to make the appointment only a few days in advance. They have convenient AM hours on Saturdays, and the appointments was created and confirmed in less than 5 minutes. I was immediately seated into a treatment room. They were very sweet and personable with my dog, and he seemed as comfortable as he could be at a vet's office. Vet took time to answer any questions and explain what she was doing and her assessments. Total annual visit for less than $150!!! Very nice-looking, clean clinic, and friendly staff. Prestonwood is by far the best vet office we have ever been to. My rescue is a nervous nelly, and isn't particularly great with men. Dr. Taylor is the most gentle, caring soul; he takes the time to sit on the floor and "bond" with her prior to starting her exams so she is comfortable. He also makes me comfortable by explaining his rationale for courses of treatment, and advising on small things like proper dental hygiene for aging dogs. He takes a holistic approach to treatment versus just treating for symptoms- he carefully explains all of the potential options, then works through lifestyle, breed-specific issues, and my dog's individual needs prior to recommending anything. I cannot praise him, or Prestonwood enough. We have been coming here for 3 years, and even make the drive down from the Woodlands, specifically for Dr. Taylor!

Dr. Ramsbacher was very sweet, explained everything in detail, and made us feel comfortable in a scary situation. I was so glad when I found Prestonwood Animal Clinic after moving to the Champions area in 2011. Dr. Taylor is the best vet I could have ever hoped for to care for my three cats and two dogs, one of which was a senior dog. When my "baby" developed an aggressive cancer in December of last year, he and Dr. Kennedy were so caring and attentive during her surgery and hospital stays. It really touched my heart when a few of the techs from the back recognized her and greeted her by name when I dropped her off for the surgery one morning after she had only been in the back a few times. Dr. Taylor and the staff were very kind to my husband and me on the day I had to let her go after 15 years. In general, the staff are always friendly and attentive, and the clinic is usually clean and very nice. I highly recommend this clinic as well as Dr. Taylor and Dr. Kennedy.

My 10 year old golden retriever have been here for years. Although, I would prefer to see the same vet each visits, the ones I had met were gentle and kind towards her.They take their time to talk to you and advise you on everything that your dog needs. I find this clinic a bit more expensive but we don't go as often they really try to make sure that you're doing your best so that you're not constantly returning. Front desk service is fast an efficient as well.

Celine started limping over the weekend so on Monday I had to take her to vet. I must say this was the first time taking dog to vet during a pandemic. But I am so glad I came here. They were so nice I think Celine liked the staff more than she likes me. They did x-rays and saw no breaks and said she wasn't dehydrated. So doggie motrin and antibiotics now she's not limping anymore but still not done with pills so we'll see how it goes long-term. Definitely I'll come here again

My vet is AMAZING! I brought my Boxer puppy Athena for the first time 3 days after getting her and Dr. Rossana Perez was more than just a standard Vet for Athena and I. She was able to take care of her and nurse her back to health and my 3lb puppy became a healthy, strong, and happy 40+lb 2 yr old. She always remembers Athena and treats her as if she is her only patient! I have been going to Prestonwood Animal Clinic for over 20 years. They have always treated me with love and understanding. They were especially compassionate when I went through my trials with Katy and now with my Sadie. I have never had an issue and my pets have always been well taken care of. They were especially understanding when I took my cat Boozer in. When he was getting checked out, they had a hard time getting him to quit purring. No matter what they did (blowing in his face), he kept right on purring. Then when I boarded him, they were very happy to give him back to me. Nothing was said but I could tell. I forgot to tell them that Boozer is VERY talkative and gets along with all cats and dogs. He probably hollered non-stop to get out of the cage!

First - the quality of care and employees are great. That is not the reason for the 3 star rating. Rather, it is an office policy that I recently became aware of. Prior to transferring overseas, I was a client for several years bringing my 2 dogs to them for shots, exams, etc. I also referred my 2 sisters to them who brought their dogs. I returned to the USA briefly and am transferring overseas again and I have a different dog that they have never seen and I wanted to start the paperwork to transfer them. They stated "it was their policy not to do any paperwork for dogs they haven't had a relationship with for a year." Two responses to that: you must not have confidence in your ability to do an exam and determine the health of a dog. Blood work, stool work, etc can reveal the existence of parasites, etc. Given the cost of exams and this policy, I begin to doubt their worth. The second thing - while I appreciate you want to have a relationship with my dog, don't forget you have human clients too. Very disappointed with this policy after being a client for years. For anyone in a similar situation, Copperfield Animal Clinic was happy to assist me with the transfer paperwork without requiring a relationship of a year.

The vet and her assisting tech actually got down on the floor with our yorkie to make her feel comfortable on our first visit and that truly impressed us. They made the entire process painless for both myself and our yorkie. They were completely understanding about our concerns over costs and they were great about fully disclosing all costs before they took any action. They made recommendations but didn't push anything on us, and the vet was very thorough with answering all of our questions. She was not rushed and spent a good amount of time with us talking about our pet's health overall. Their facilities are very welcoming and did not have the typically medicinal smell of a medical facility at all. Our yorkie was excited to go inside and spent the entire time happy and running around, she was not anxious or nervous and it means a lot to find that in vet. I would highly recommend this facility to my family and friends. We have truly found our primary vet.

Best exotic pet clinic I could find. Its clean, nice neighborhood, no waiting time, and affordable. Whenever I go with my Guinea pig , the staff is really nice and the Veterinarian who sees him is very knowledgeable. Dr. Kennedy and Dr. Taylor were so helpful with our Standard Poodle going through loss of feeling in his legs. Since "KC" was older, Dr. Taylor (specializes in geriatrics) took over his care and we couldn't have been happier with the attention he gave. He did everything possible to give KC more time and checked on him regularly by phone. Ultimately, we had to say goodbye to KC with Dr. Taylor's help. Dr. Taylor let us take as much time as needed and made KC's euthanasia a very peaceful event. We have used Prestonwood for several dogs since moving to Cypress 3.5 yrs ago and have been very happy with the care. Dr. Kennedy seems to care about each animal and really listens to our concerns. I've never had to wait for very long, if at all. My cat definitely fights them when she gets a check up and vaccinations, but they know how to deal with her to calm her down and get her in and out with as little stress as possible. The only reason that I don't give it five stars is because it is a bit pricey. You could go to one of those cheap animal clinic places and save some money, but I prefer my pets to go to the same place and have the same doctor see them each time.

Seriously is this a animal clinic or a pediatric office? Dr. Liz came highly recommended by a close friend. The office is so clean and the service and attention are uncomparable. On this date I took in a small chihuahua that was abandoned for being pregnant and was very nervous because the doggy was sick and scared. Dr. Liz made me feel like the health of the small animal was her priority. She made me feel as if my opionion counted in the well being of doggy. As of 5 years I became a mommy to two rescue cats and about one year ago I got my first dog and have seen many vets, let me tell you this is the first time I felt like any doctor had genuine concern for an animal. The only problem was that when we got out of the car to go get Conner, out came a pitbull rip roaring and full of energy. As a victim of an extremely life threatening attack by a pitbull, I have educated myself, and due to the inherent danger that a pitbull poses,I believe that pitbulls should not be allowed in such a place without a muzzle to protect the general population at large.

If you are looking for a vet to trust who cares about your pets just as much as you do but also understands cost, quality of life/comfort, and will give it to you straight this is the place to go. Dr. Kennedy has done 3 surgeries on one of our cats who has cancer and she always comes home happy and with no complications. Dr. Codi helped us get through a weekend emergency that required a 3-day vet stay. She was patient and listened when I had to ramble and then advised us on how our cat was doing through the emergency and the care required afterwards. Heath the office manager is super friendly, helpful and laid out all the options and didn't make me feel like a bad pet parent when I had to pick the cheaper option for my cat's care. All of the vet techs are amazing and great with my pets. And when I did have to bring in my cat for an emergency visit they didn't turn me away like other places but made room in the schedule to make sure he got seen. This is just an all around quality place.
