I highly recommend pet care services at VCA-Kaneohe, because of my experiences there over the past 2 years have been positive. Most recently, my 12-year old Australian Cobberdog, Teddy Bear developed a left lateral hind paw toe cancer. Fine needle aspirate indicated cancer, type not able to be specified. Dr. Koperna performed a toe amputation on Thu 9/8/22. Dr. Koperna called me when the procedure was completed and explained discharge instructions in detail and answered my questions. The Vet Techs and office staff at VCA-Kaneohe were very professional and caring of Teddy. He had his first post-op follow-up appt and his amputation site is healing well. Teddy remains very comfortable with all VCA-Kaneohe staff.

Dr. Jason Gray was Amazing! We recently had our (not quite 2 year old) cat fall ill on a Sunday. VCA was able to see us the same morning and we barely waited at all. The facility was super clean and the rooms were nice and cold. (bring a sweater). They have a variety of quality pet food, snacks and toys to browse if you find yourself waiting on results and they even offer free coffee (an added bonus). The technician/assistant Sandra was also wonderful. She was very up front about the fees and explained what each test was for and why the Dr. wanted them. As we prepared to leave Torie explained how to give the meds to Koko & was also beyond patient, informative, and kind. After leaving, Dr Gray called 2 days in a row to check on our cat & made sure we knew the final results of our testing. We just moved to the island and will definitely be going back for any other pet needs.

A little pricey but isn't everything in Hawaii! Super friendly staff, super clean facility and always able to get a quick appointment. They cleaned my fur babies teeth and took really hood care of him. Was able to get a quick health certificate with short notice. Lots of great pet products for purchase as well. One stop shopping for your beloved pet 🐕

I had a little freak out with my 6 month old puppy after her spaying. It was Sunday and I was worried. The staff was professional. They were quick but not rushed. The receptionists, the techs and the doctor were kind and reassuring. We learned that my puppy was doing great and going to be fine. After all of that the price for their services was very reasonable. I fully recommend VCA Kaneohe. Thank you.

Dr. Hester and the VCA Kaneohe family has been so awesome to our new puppy! Everyone that has interacted with our puppy has done so with care, compassion and overall enthusiasm for him. What was specifically impressive was when we had a slight scare with our furbaby at 10:30 at night; we used the vet chat (told us nothing to be alarmed for) and within minutes, we got a text from Dr. Hester asking how he was doing and gave us a plethora of tips to use. We greatly appreciate Dr. Hester and the staff at VCA Kaneohe and look forward to continually working with them through our furbaby's happy, healthy life.

I was so happy with how everyone handled and treated my very anxious dog during curbside/drop-off service. They were all calm, kind, and patient with her. They took time to make her comfortable in the parking lot and then carried her in when she was still nervous. Previous animal hospitals we've been to wanted her to be sedated for simple visits. But she didn't have issues with VCA's staff.

Our little fur baby has been suffering with a decaying canine tooth. When Dr. Iwashita of Koolau Veterinary noticed the poor condition of her teeth, he recommended that we call Dr. Constanteras, our Island's only canine dental surgery specialist. That was back in March 2022. I called for an appointment with Dr. Constanteras immediately, and the earliest she can just look at our dog's teeth is on June 1 ! Meanwhile, her toothache started keeping her up at night. It got so bad that I called for an appointment today. Kaneohe VCA has amazingly convenient hours! 7am-7pm every single day! So I was able to see Dr. Houghtailing today at 6pm. The staff and doctor were so understanding and compassionate. He listened to my inadequate description of her symptoms and he prescribed medication to tide her over until she can see the specialist. I stated my purpose of the visit, and he targeted my concerns and addressed each of them! The staff was also very kind and helpful. It was my first visit there (if you have an appointment, you can go into the examination room with your pet and talk with the technician and the doctor) so I got some little gifts as a first time patient. We also have a visit to our original veterinarian over at Koolau Veterinary on Friday. I have informed them about our dog's discomfort, and the soonest Dr. Iwashita can see us will be on Friday. We have seen three veterinarians in Kaneohe since we moved here last summer. All of them are really good doctors, but this is the first time I was able to actually meet our doctor and watch the examination. I really liked Dr. Houghtailing's knowledge of what might be causing her symptoms, and I am so pleased that our little dog will not be suffering from her bad tooth! Thank you Dr. Houghtailing and all of the VCA Kaneohe staff who worked late on Mothers Day! Update: Miss Molly is feeling so much better! In fact she’s back to being demanding and mischievous to get her way! The good news is that we have signed her up for the senior canine care program which includes dental care doctors visits and all of her vaccines. It also includes x-rays and blood tests. You have the option of in person visits so you can talk to the doctor while your pet is being examined. Love it!

Our last appointment was with Doctor King who is the best Vet we've ever been to. I said in an earlier review that it used to take hours to see a vet, even when an appointment was made well in advance. Dr King is the very reason that everything has changed. From the moment you walk into the door the staff is the kindness, most wonderful people. Last visit Melissa at the front desk listened to me cry about our aging dog and suggested we visit Dr King. He's amazing. He spent a very long time with us trying to get our 15 year old Australian Shepherd on the right meds. While that goal has been accomplished it is now time to love our dog enough to let him go. I know he works today and we trust him to help us send Buddy to the rainbow bridge. We know because of the time he spent with us that it's time to say goodbye. I'm so thankful for Dr King and his entire staff because even though this day will be a really difficult day, Dr King will be the best to help us say goodbye. Thanks to each and every one of you for helping us. I really have nothing but gratitude and respect for especially Dr King who fixed all the problems that made it so difficult and time consuming, to the only place I trust with my Buddy.

Dr King and the rest of the staff is awesome. We experienced nightmare services at another vet & once we switched to VCA & saw what vet caring should be, we never returned to that other quack veterinarian. VCA Kaneohe is an excellent choice for your furry family members. I was very nervous about taking my lab for his first appointment because he has so much anxiety around strangers. The tech that came to the car to get him was super friendly and took her time to establish a rapport with him and he walked into the clinic with her without any problems . Many veterinary clinics will not allow pet owners to enter the clinic to be with their pets as they are put to sleep. VCA Kaneohe, however, is the only one we found on the Windward side. We are tremendously grateful they allowed us in. They have one room dedicated for this purpose. They were so kind. I can't imagine not being with your pet in its last moments. Thank you, VCA, for being generous in this way and for being so kind and respectful throughout the process. 🌈

I take both my dogs here, and it truly is amazing. The staff and doctors are so incredibly nice and attentive, you can tell that they really really care. We see Dr. Gray for general care and sick needs, and Dr. Seversen for surgical needs and they are both absolutely fantastic! I cannot reccomend them enough!!!

The doctors are incredibly attentive. All 5 (and now 4) of my animals are treated here. However, the wait times are always incredibly long. We are always usually taken to a wait room promptly but from there the time just passes - blood draws and even checking out are painfully long processes. If you are thinking of coming here, the doctors are excellent and clearly care for your pets but buffer your time easily 30-40 minutes and plan to have something to keep you occupied during that wait because the wait time quoted usually is a fraction of what you will experience.

I can only speak from my experiences. Everytime I have gone, the doctors and staff were very compassionate and understanding. They actually talk to you and make you feel comfortable. I just wished I started coming here earlier. My other vet office closer to my home was ok, but very business and money oriented, where you just felt like a number.

Dr. Kraft (Craft?) is AWESOME! You can tell he loves pets. The free first time exam is great. The hours are really nice for someone with a crazy schedule. The prices are a bit steep for an office visit and the receptionists leave something to be desired- most of them are extremely rude. But the Vet is so nice, I will definitely be back- he gets 5 stars!

As far as pet vets go, these guys are a bit on the pricey side but I must say, you get what you pay for. They have taken great care of my pets. When I had my dog stay over night at a different place, they were happy to assist with faxing over all the needed paperwork at no charge.

Well Care plan is good. It makes me more comfortable taking my dogs in because I know that my visits are covered through the plan. They also have some great Vets, like Jason Grey, DVM . Clinic is very clean and has everything you need for animal care.

Wonderful experience. Went for an emergency and will make them our regular vet clinic now. So happy after being let down by many other much more expensive vet offices in the area. UPDATE: They are even better than I thought! Last night I found a dog running back and forth on a busy road. I stopped traffic and picked him up. I have two dogs and live in an apartment so I could not really keep him long term. Brought him to VCA. They helped me locate his owner and kept him until owner got there. 💖 They are just the most helpful and kindest vet Ofdice around.

But the wait after...I sat in the lobby waiting for meds and finalized charges for almost an hour, it was kinda ridiculous. There weren't other people getting processed ahead of me, it just took forever.

I cannot say enough how grateful my wife and I am for how incredibly gracious and kind the staff were to us while going through such a hard and heartbreaking moment!! It had come time for my 17 yr. old cat “Kolohe” to be put to sleep. Another vet on the Windward side (FFUR) that had just charged us $1000+ for an exam had refused for me & my husband to be with him at the end. I am so grateful I called VCA KANEOHE and thank them for their kindness and understanding at this sad time. They told us take all the time you need and that they would have a paw print taken for us. Dr. King came in for the procedure and explained to us what he would be doing, what my cat would feel, etc.and patiently answered all of our questions. Their understanding and heartfelt deeds meant so much to us at this time and I will be forever grateful! As of that day 3/22/21 VCA Kaneohe will be my primary choice for any future pets I have. (Which may be very soon as we have a feral cat that has adopted us & needs care! 😺) Again, Mahalo and Much Aloha to Dr. King and staff at VCA KANEOHE.

Was moving to mainland and need a health certification for my service dog. I called them for price and was quoted a price for inspection and certification. We went there and when we got told the charges it was way higher than the quote. I did not have that kind of money. They would not certify my dog unless I paid them. I felt it was a bait and switch.

Since my unpleasant experience a couple of years ago, VCA has made a real effort to give me better service and my dog Shaggy is much happier going to VCA for his yearly visits. They actually made a real effort to address my problems I had which I really appreciated. Keep up the good work!

To be honest this is probably my favorite vet I have brought my dogs to in the area. The people are very friendly and super accomadating and understanding, they have a good selection of pet foods, medicines and toys! Also free coffee which is always a plus. Definitely recommend

Dr. Ochiai is a great vet doctor, so caring and good with pet & parents. Call's to check up after a few days to see if your pet is going ok. So, far I've never had a bad experience here! Staff very helpful! I had to walk in with my sick yesterday, no appt. I got Dr. Gray since Dr. Ochiai wasn't working until later. Dr Gary took very good care of my cat, called and updated me on his progress. I was very happy with his service also!

We recently lost our beloved Pono and would like to tell you how much we appreciate the VCA Kaneohe Animal Hospital. This particular morning, Pono was not himself. We called VCA and they agreed to fit him in as soon as we got there. They attended to him right away. I could see the urgency of the doctors and staff as they rushed him into the examining room. The doctors and staff did their utmost to help him recover, but his time was up. He had congenital heart failure. Everyone there was very understanding of the situation and did their best to comfort Pono and us. We didn't want him to suffer so we had him put to sleep in our arms. It was the most difficult thing we've done in our life. He was our baby. We cried for days. VCA was very sympathetic, understanding, caring, and tops with professional doctors and staff. They even sent us a sympathy card. Hospitals for humans could learn something from VCA. They are number one on our list of top notch veterinary hospitals. Thank you so much for your quality of care and comfort. We will always cherish the happiness Pono gave unselfishly to us. And we will always remember VCA's kind doctors and staff.

During one of the most difficult times in my life, losing my beloved "where's the baby " a special kitty that came to me (without her mom) on the day of her birth 16 years ago. The staff were incredibly sensitive and caring and made the unbearable decision a little less devastating. I want to thank the doctor who had incredible empathy for his professionalism and tact, because it must have been extremely hard on him as well trying to deal with basically a mad woman in the throes of grief and despair. I have experienced multiple problems with this facility phoning prescriptions into an external pharmacy for pickup. 1. Prescription doesn't get called to pharmacy, have to call back to remind them to do it. 2. Prescription called to a different pharmacy than requested. 3. Long delays between time request made and prescription called. Currently at 24 hours and two calls to the VCA with prescription still not called to pharmacy.
