Had to bring my little pom-chi Ellie in yesterday due to having neurological issues. It was my first time there and everyone there was so helpful, patient and caring. All the techs and vets took great care of Ellie, were able to find out what was going on and get her treated right away. She ended up having to stay the night for observation. I received updates through texts and pictures which helped a lot. I did called to get the first update, was able to speak directly with the vet that had been treating her all day. Helped reassure me that she was well taken care of and they were giving her the best treatment needed. I appreciate everyone there who helped take care of Ellie and get her feeling better 🩷 The only negative is the cost. Things add up really quick which can make it hard to do what's best for your dog if you don't have that money available right away. But it's also an Emergency clinic. Great place! I hope I don't have to but would definitely bring her here again if needed.

I appreciate everything you did for my dog. The receptionists were so comforting and told me everything that would happen and even showed me where I could go to get some food while I waited. Everyone was wonderful and helped me with my financial issues and took care of my beloved dog so thoroughly. I will recommend this place to everyone who has pets and I will be forever grateful! The veterinarian took care of my beloved pet in the best way possible, despite my financial situation. Love you all and appreciate you so much!!! Bless you for all you do. ❤️

This place I has always taken such good care of my pets during emergencies. I’ve always felt welcomed and understood here.
Yet when I think of this place I’m reminded of handing my husky, who was dying after eating a poisoned mouse, into a vet tech’s arms. She ran my sweet girl inside as she took her last breaths. But the strongest memory is the tech then calling us and saying “the vet asked us to tell you that she stopped breathing. If you would like, he can attempt CPR for $500.” I’ve hated this place ever since. They told us to choose in the next seconds if our dog lived or died for an absurd amount of money. He would only attempt chest compressions for half of the money in our savings. We said yes, even though we knew she wouldn’t make it and even though we didn’t have that money to spare. How could we possibly say no? It’s one of the worst memories of my entire life. It was cruel.
And at the same time I would still trust these people with my pets in an emergency. I don’t think it was a choice made to hurt us. I can’t imagine the vet tech enjoyed making the call. But it’s what I remember when I drive by.
Edit: The response suggests I could have reviewed the wrong business since I'm not in the system. The visit was likely under my fiance's name. I know where my girl died. I knew I was charged an incredible amount of money for her to die at the Red River Animal Emergency Hospital and every time I see the new expansion it puts a bad taste in my mouth. I don't have questions. I only want other people to know how much to expect to be charged if they cant get into their normal vet.

We had to bring our dog in for an emergency visit after getting into a bottle of Advil. They got him back right away when we got there, the staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel like he was going to be in good hands. He had to stay for 48 hours but they made sure to send us pictures of him and keep us updated which really helped relieve some of our stress and worry. They took amazing care of him and they were very professional. I would definitely recommend Red River to anyone with a pet.

I brought the love of my life here yesterday morning. My toy poodle Teddi was my everything. Dr. Kramer explained what was going on and took such good care of her. He did all he could. It was the first dog I had to put down. It was a tough decision but made easier by Dr. Kramer’s thorough explanation of what was going on with Teddi. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to help me let her go. Thank you, Dr. Kramer. I don’t know how you do this every day, but I appreciate everything you did for Teddi.

I have had to bring my diabetic cat nugget in on several occasions. At times he’s sadly had to spend a few days there. All the doctors, techs, and staff were amazing keeping me informed with phone calls, sending me pictures of nugget, and letting me come and visit him. This last month nugget had to be in hospitalized for a few days at a time a couple different occasions. They took such good care of my baby giving him the best treatment possible. Unfortunately nuggets body wasn’t able to fight the problems he has with his diabetes. He fought a good fight and surprised everyone and me a few times by getting better. But when his body wouldn’t take to the treatment the doctors were very companionate with me. And made the processes of saying goodbye as easy as they could for me. Everyone was the over the top amazing with nugget and me every step of the way. I thank this place deeply for everything!

All staff were knowledgeable, swift and kind. They came highly recommended by surrounding rDVMs I spoke to. We were a direct hospital transfer from MI to ND. The continued updates I received were essential for my piece of mind! Stellar crew, stellar performance!

The Red River Emergency Clinic does such a fantastic job of caring for our animals. They treated our animals as if they were their own, and treated us with understanding. We felt supported and that our animals were in safe hands, even in the scariest moments of our lives. I cannot recommend this place and these staff enough. Thank you for saving our Lola.

The expert care and compassion we received was such a comfort. They did all they could expertly and kept me informed as the day progressed.

She came into our lives in 2018 brought up to out steps and dropped off into our care by another stray we were feeding. It took a good long while to gain her trust and entered into our home while still retaining her outdoor activities. Unimpressed with worldly goods, she put her stock in love and cuddles. A great hunter, gardener, ( my constant companion) and sporting companion (while sitting in Steve’s arms) she was a great provider of chipmunks and once brought a live one into the house. That took 2 days to finally catch and release. She showed no interest in politics or toys and never learned to meow.( purring however was abundant) She followed me everywhere once spending 3 days with me in bed while I was recovering from surgery... she never left my side. She taught many life lessons...Ninja our great warrior princess crossed the rainbow bridge on Saturday but will be in our hearts forever🌈

The staff handled everything professionally despite having a large number of patients to see that day. They were at a level 3, but took the time to triage my dog, make sure he was stable, and continue to monitor him until the vet could get to him for an exam. They were upfront and honest about the wait time and advised us that it would be best to return home while waiting. Once seen, our dog received excellent care, and the staff patiently explained everything to us over the phone. They even sent us a text with a picture of our dog so we could be reassured that he was doing well. We really appreciated the honesty and straightforward explanation of what we were dealing with in terms of our dog's health.

I loved having the daily pic, text update, & call. If I had questions, time was taken to answer them to my understanding: Doctors explaining things in a way I could understand. I also appreciated being able to visit Josiah during his stay.

The staff were very welcoming and shared concern for my dog. They all seemed very sweet with my dog and called later to ensure she was doing ok. While I hope I don't need an emergency hospital for my dog again, if we do, we will definitely be going back to Red River Animal Hospital!

I am a brand-new cat owner, and I had to take my kitty in for a sore she wouldn’t stop scratching. I was worried & frazzled, and my kitty hated the car ride there! Luckily, the staff were so kind and took great care of her. They put my nerves to rest explained the all the take-home instructions. The services were a good price as well.
Thank you to all the staff who helped take such good care of my kitty! We are happy and healing now.

Compassionate and terrific service. Our roughly 16-year-old German Shepherd Rottweiler mix started his Saturday normally but by evening it was like his hind end just stopped working. I laid awake most of the night worrying about if he can't move in the morning, how can we handle this with no vet being opened on Sunday. Sunday came and he had soiled the rug he was laying on and couldn't even move. His time had come. My neighbor suggested I try Red River Animal Emergency Hospital so I called. The lady who answered was friendly and when I told her I was looking for euthanasia services, she immediately told me that she was so sorry to hear about our beloved pet and she explained everything to me and that they could help with the next step. I told her that he was a big dog and she told me to call right before we got there and she would have a gurney waiting. We did just that and they were waiting when we pulled up. They took our dog and prepared him and got us settled into a private room where we could spend time with him as he passed. Everyone we interacted with was compassionate, helpful, friendly, and all around just perfect. Not only did they make us comfortable, but our dog was so peaceful during our final time together. He had no fear in his eyes and was ready for his next adventure. Thank you to the entire staff for helping us through this difficult time. Pricing was a bit high, but I think right in line considering it was Sunday and it was a walk-in. Not having to make our dog suffer through a whole day of soiling himself while he laid helplessly on the floor puts the price right in check. Plus, they do a paw casting and inked paw prints at no additional charge.

Everyone at RREAH is so kind and compassionate. Its reassuring to know that your sick puppy is in the best possible hands and makes a very stressful situation much easier. Thank you for taking such great care of our Frankie!
Amanda Wilson
I have had to use their services twice now and as much as I wish I hadn't, I have had extremely positive experiences in both. They explain how everything will work up and pricing while I was still at the receptionist desk. In both my cases, I had to say goodbye to my pet and they were the most compassionate and caring people. They didn't rush my decision or my time with my animals. Their facility is also very nice! Thank you all for being so wonderful. I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else in an emergency.

From the moment I carried my 125lbs dog into the office the staff took care of Rye with urgency and compassion he and I needed.
The communication after Rye’s surgery was great. The pictures of Rye during his recovery was a huge relief to my family.
Thanks you all you saved his life!!!!
The photo is Rye recovering at home. Wally says thank you as well.

Although there was nothing actually wrong with pancakes, I appreciate the level of care that was provided and how throughly everything was explained to my boyfriend who brought my cat in. My cat means more than anything to me and I cannot express how happy I am that he was in good hands. Thanks for taking the extra time and being so kind.

The people at the front desk were very friendly and I appreciated that I was updated throughout Pikachu's process as it really helped to calm my nerves knowing what was happening. I also loved that I was informed of any totals that would be added to my final amount before anything was done. Asking about pikachu's history really made me feel like the staff cared about giving him quality care.

My experience with your Hospital was fantastic. My dog 'Loki' got into some rat poison that a contractor had left out in their tools and materials... I only ever use live traps. So luckily I noticed the bag shortly after the dog got into it. I called my normal vet but it was the weekend and their emergency contact informed me to call your hospital. I called and they told me right away to get him there as soon as possible. Once I arrived they explained the process, but immediately took him back to induce vomiting. The staff was professional and kind. The actual Vet/Doctor was also very personable and talked me through the process. You kept him overnight which was one of the hardest moments in my life to be honest. Your staff explained it may be 1-3 days based upon what could happen. The next day after inducing vomiting 3 times, and 4 rounds of charcoal he wasn't showing any symptoms, and had passed it through his GI tract. So you called me back to pick him up as there was nothing else to do but monitor him. This of course saved money, which is appreciated, but more importantly I was able to make him as comfortable as posible at home rather than in an unfamilar place. The next few days I was on pins and needles, he was a little lethargic at first, which is to be expected... but as the days went by he returned to his normal crazy self. I cant express enough how grateful I am your services are 24/7 and was able to get to him right away, I know this was a very close call !!!. My personal vet followed up with me during the week as you had sent over the information as well. I have nothing but good things to say!! Thank you very much. Professionalism and 24/7 Support

We've been to the emergency hospital twice. Both times we were greeted with friendly staff that seemed to genuinely care about our dog. Communication while our dog was a patient was also good. Since we live over an hour away, their willingness to help over the phone before deciding whether or not to drive to the ER helps tremendously. Knowing there is a 24/7 option for our pets is a great relief!

Wonderful and caring staff, took amazing care of not only nala but also great to myself in the situation .The understanding and caring of all of your staff that I came in contact with and how attentive Dr cramer was to not only Nala but to me as well. The receptionist that checked us in, he was so quick to get my baby taken care of and calm and made sure i understood everything that was going on. They were quick to keep me informed and helped me talk out all possible scenerios. The tech who did ny discharge and after care instructions was so great and she took such good care of my baby girl and made sure to make her feel loved until i was able to pick her up. You are all a blessing and thank you for taking such good care of Nala, she is recovering great so far today!

Everyone was very nice and got to us as soon as they could. It is a very busy and important place for healing everyone's loved and cherished animals. My cat was not critical so it took longer to treat her, but I knew she was being cared for even though it took longer. I didn't mind. I knew they were caring for emergency situations. Very organized and kind team. I appreciated the text updates and communication.
Heather Syverson
We’ve had to use their emergency veterinary services several times over the past 15 years for our dogs. The staff are always kind and considerate. I appreciate how the doctors fully explain the pet's illness and recommended treatment. We’ve also found the receptionists and techs to be compassionate and empathetic.

The best place i've ever brought my dog too. They were so nice and caring towards me and my dog. The staff was absolutely wonderful. They gave me multiple options for treatment and made sure i knew the price for everything so i wasn't blindsided when i got the bill. They were fast with giving my dog cares and making sure she was getting the help she needed. Would 100% recommend Red River Animal Emergency Hospital to all my friends and family. Made us feel like we were family and not just an other patient.
Christina Sticka-Jacobs
I was very happy with the level of service that was provided to my cat. The doctors kept me informed what was going on at all times and made sure I understood the discharge information to further care for my cat at home. Everyone I spoke to or interacted with from the moment I dropped off my cat to everyone in between and then at discharge was extremely friendly, encouraging, and helpful. The consistent communication throughout my cat's stay was much appreciated!
Brooke Pangle
The communication with my kitty's pictures while he had his hospital stay was so welcomed. It definitely helped us to feel more comfortable that he was being well taken care of, and so nice to see those because we missed him so much! Care, concern, and love was excellent. Pictures and overall communication and dedication was wonderful. Thank you so much!!

Did a good job caring for my dog treating her very well. Great job explaining why things were happening. Estimated times weren't the best, but they are Estimates and they were the only vet open for emergency care on Sunday for which I'm grateful! Overall great experience You treated me and my dog with care and compassion

I had to leave my cat overnight because of some urinary issues he was having, and the entire staff was excellent from start to finish. They called with updates and texted me pictures of him so I had peace of mind that he was comfortable. They were very honest and transparent with the options and prices, and when I brought him home and had questions they happily answered them. They gave great care and my cat is happy and healthy again.

HIGHLY recommend. Dr. Stegman quickly pulled a single porcupine quill from the roof of our dogs mouth. I was there about 15 minutes. Every single person I interacted with was friendly and helpful. It's such a relief to know that these folks are here to help during the time our regular vet isn't open. It's quite a drive from Park Rapids, but worth every second to get our girl out of discomfort!
Amanda Hanson
I'm very grateful for the care my cat received. I know you guys were slammed, and I appreciated the quick pics and updates via text, as waiting is always hard, especially when your pet is hospitalized. The doctors did a great job explaining what was going on with my cat and which tests were needed and why and what my options were. We're so lucky to have the RRAEC in our community!
Lindsey Keightley-Reinhardt
The vets took excellent care of our cat and kept us informed every step of the way. We felt comfortable knowing he was receiving the best quality care and making a meaningful recovery. They even sent us photos of him while he was recuperating.

Entire process was very smooth. I was kept updated and you can tell the staff, although exhausted, don't let nothing slow them down and should each be cherished for the job they do. Kind and knowledgeable. They really invested their best energy into providing the most optimal care for my dog.
Veronica Fleming
Everyone was so caring and helpful right from the moment that I frantically called for help with our sick dog. We drove from out of town late at night and the front end staff didnt keep us waiting. They were thorough and kept me in the loop every step of the way. The technician even sent me a picture update to reassure me our baby was comfortable. I'm so thankful!
Betsy Calkins
I can’t express how grateful I am that this place exists. The staff are calm, and keep you informed every step of the way. My Louie was in so much pain and he was examined and treated much faster than their quoted time. I was able to take him home and Dr. Erickson is amazing, she took all my calls and was very understanding and reassuring.
Thank you all so very much, I know Louie will be grateful too, maybe after a few more days of recovery 🙂
Joille Kjenstad
Amazing care! I appreciate everything they did for my baby dog! The photo and text updates made his impatient stay easier on the whole family!

I was well-informed at every phase of my dog's care. From the initial phone call regarding my dog's critical condition to the personal phone calls I received from different veterinarians, I knew the status of my dog's health and how her treatments and care would progress during her hospitalization. In addition, there were no surprises with the billing. My questions were answered thoroughly and with compassion. I knew exactly what the next step in this process was going to entail and when.
Anna Rozova
I had to resort to emergency care when Gerta countersurfed and destroyed pill dispenser ingesting 4 day worth of her meds. It was very stressful situation, exacerbated to me by Gerta being anxious and potentially reactive in new situations. The care and compassion i received is beyond words. Thank you so much for taking time to approach her and helping her ( and me 🤣) in this very stressful situation. We are very fortunate to have you and thank you for all you do for animals.
Cynthia Bailey
I'm just so appreciative that the staff is so helpful and caring. I have brought my pet to emergency services at least 3 times and I'm so grateful that this hospital exists for when my pet needs urgent care anytime of day or week. I also appreciate the frequent communication even when there are long wait times. Caring, communicative, and efficient staff.

I drove my baby here in inclement weather from GF to get care and they took really good care of him. We were the only ones there and they were able to get him in back, examined and cared for quickly. From the front desk staff to the techs and providers, everyone was carrying and professional, giving me no reason to feel like he was in bad hands. I am SO glad it was open 😫 The fact that your facility was open on the snow day made an anxiety induced situation a little less stressful. Thank y'all!
Jessica Wigglesworth
We are very impressed with the care our dog received. The vet took the time to explain to us something we were not aware of. We certainly will utilize this facility again if in need during an emergency! the communication. The vet and tech took the time to explain what was going on to us plus answered all our questions.
Amanda Brown
Everyone my dog and I encountered while there were very professional and caring. Although they were busy we were in and out of there in around 2 hours.
< br />They took great care of our dog! the kindness and professionalism every person had!
alice thielges
I really appreciated the photo updates they sent me via text message. I didn't ask for them so the random pictures were a very pleasant surprise. They are great at communication and following-through on what they say. Communication during a scenario at the emergency vet is extremely important
Jefferson Tobkin
Our cat was admitted quickly and my wife and I didn't have to wait long to receive the hospital's diagnosis. Clear options were provided and the doctors communicated with us throughout. Our cat underwent a successful surgery and we couldn't be more grateful!
Zachary Noriega
Could not recommend enough. From the front desk, to the doctors everyone was incredible to deal with. My puppy needed emergency surgery and I was updated throughout the entire process, along with photos via text during his recovery. Thank you so much!

On New Years Eve night, our dog was bit on the ear by another dog. Being from Minnesota, we were anxious and uneasy about finding a place to take time to look at her. The staff here was tremendous and really caring. Made us feel at ease and gave us comfort that Bailey will be just fine. Thank you everyone. Taking time to put us at ease and make sure Bailey was gonna be ok.

TL;DR: Be prepared to wait 15+ hours and pay your very expensive bill in FULL upfront before they will treat your animal. Most staff is nice and knowledgeable; quality of care once received after long wait and forking over lots of money is excellent; some staff need refreshers on how to respectfully engage with clients.
My dog broke her foot/leg at the beginning of September. While I felt like the vet staff was knowledgeable, I waited for multiple hours for my dog to be seen an X-rayed before a staff member informed me that it would likely be FIFTEEN (15) HOURS or more before my dog would be seen and treated. While I understand that this is the only emergency 24/hour vet within a 3-4 hour radius, a 15 hour wait for an animal with a severe injury such as a break to be treated is a ridiculous amount of time! I brought my dog in around 7pm and when I came back to check on her around 7am they STILL had not even X-rayed her foot to get an idea of severity of the break. I was pretty upset that they still hadn't even x-rayed her so that I could understand if she would need a cast or surgery or what the treatment options might be. I expressed my frustration to one of the staff who told me that I should calm down because "other people's pets are literally dying." While that may be true, this is not something that a staff member at any vet should EVER say to a client during a stressful and intense period of time, especially after having waited over 12 hours at that point for my dog to receive any form of treatment aside from pain medications. While my pup was kept comfortable with pain medications during that time, and while I did not pay for the pain medications they administered during the extremely long wait period, a serious amount of damage could be done by an animal with an untreated break or fracture over a 15 hour period. My dog was not x-rayed until nearly 12pm the day after I brought her in, which was about 17 hours after we initially checked in. I then went over treatment options, which at the cheapest came up to around $1200 and was informed that unless they could receive the payment in full that day that my pup would not be treated and would simply be sent home without her fractured toes and leg being stabilized. The vet was knowledgeable and kind, and seemed somewhat sympathetic to the situation but said she didn't have the authority to authorize a payment plan. While I expected the bill to be a large sum, to not even offer a payment plan on this amount of money is ridiculous! I understand that Credit Care may be an option for some, but many may not qualify. The fact that they would rather let an animal suffer than offer a payment plan so that owner's can afford treatment is terrible! I had to make several calls to family and friends to scrounge up enough money to make the FULL payment of around $1200 so that they would treat my dog and stabilize her fractures. I was very pleased with the quality of the cast and stabilization once they did treat my dog. We were sent home with a regimen of meds for pain and swelling, and very detailed instructions on how to take care of our pup. I was pleased with the level of care my pup received after I paid for the full amount, and I can say that even though the wait was ridiculously long and a few of the staff need refreshers on their manners when speaking to clients who are stressed out, most of the staff was courteous and the care my girl received once she did receive care was great. Just be prepared to wait for a long time and be expected to fork over huge bills in full before they'll treat your pet.

RRAEH provides an invaluable service to our community. I have been there many times over the years with several different pets, at times under very stressful situations and I have always been treated well, as have my pets. Very compassionate and thorough care. I totally trust them with my pet's care.

It was such a relief knowing my corgi could receive a clean blood transfusion under professional 24hr care!!! Receiving the mobile update as my dog received the blood transfusion and how she was doing gave me peace of mind through the night she was in great hands! True life saving service for my Ginger!

Dr. Kramer was very thorough in his explanation and we were very grateful to have him call back to answer any questions. The front desk staff were also courteous and helpful. It was Very comforting when we were concerned with our kitty. Thank you, Red River staff

The patient flow and layout of the building were really great for the pet owners as well as the pets. I appreciated the text updates as well. Everyone was kind and helpful. The place also smelled lovely and looked very clean.

The staff at Red River Animal Emergency Hospital was very friendly. They not only answered all of the questions I had but also provided additional information about our pets issues that our usual vet did not have or did not provide unless pressured to give us. I greatly appreciated the knowledge the staff had and the willingness to explain things.

Saturday afternoon my 2 year old pup was shot on open property adjacent to mine. She was bleeding slightly from her front shoulder. I helped her into my vehicle and called my local Vet who advised me to call Red River Animal Emergency Services. On the way to Fargo I called to alert the clinic of our situation. From first contact until we left several hours later the entire team at Red River Emergency Animal Services was polite, professional and kind. Over the several hours we were there we were kept informed, involved and updated every step of the way.
This place is busy, unfortunately, very busy. Thanks to the team of professionals and Dr. GRIEP we brought Yeti home last night. I will be forever grateful.

Honestly it's a great place it really is. The staff took my dog into there care as soon as we got there and was taken care of till I got to bring him home. Only thing I would maybe suggest is a few more financial options but overall I would bring my pets there any day. Staff and vet are amazing

Definitely scared when your 7 week cat gets sick again after seeing castleton and getting her antibiotics almost a week ago and she wasn't eating. Red River animals emergency room is definitely an awesome place to take your cat. Took about 4 hours and got two phone calls checking up on her. And they really talk about prices and what can help you out in the end. My kitten ended up I'm getting better antibiotics than what she was on. Now she's eating and drinking water. Kinda of spendy but it's worth it at the end of the day

They have always showed much kind and caring to not only our pets but also to us as well! I have taken in a couple of our parakeets when they weren't feeling well and they helped us get them the care they needed until we were able to get our birds seen by our normal vet. I am thankful that they are available 24/7 in case of emergencies with our little guys. We highly recommend!

Very caring and very patient with a stressed owner. I felt my dog was well taken care of and just receiving the best care possible. Gave me updates that were through and easy to understand. Upfront with everything. Thank you.
Nate Nygard
Very professional workers, thorough and efficient/timely with appointment. I appreciate how no matter the concern of the pet owner, they take them all serious and treat them with great care. Overall, I appreciated how professional they were and the thoroughness of the care my lab received.

Start to finish I felt our dog was very well cared for. The calls from the vet were extremely thorough and I did not feel he was trying to rush even though they were extremely busy that day. Excellent communication / texts
Hannah Miller
Even though they were at a level 3 and the wait time could have been 12+ hours. They got my dog in and out in 3 hours. Living an hour away the kind and efficient care was greatly appreciated. The quick care for Nyx made for less stressful waiting.
Jon Bennett
The staff was very kind and courteous, it was a very busy night, and they were so great at keeping everybody informed on how things were going. They made frequent attempts to check in with everybody waiting in the lobby and keeping families updated. The compassionate staff was wonderful.
Emma Kepler
The staff was so friendly and made sure to address my concerns, as well as to explain things clearly regarding my pets care after discharge. They were amazing and the clear the communication was regarding my pets condition and care needs made the whole situation so much better.
Brooke Krutsinger
I can't thank the staff enough for being their at all hours to help animals that need immediate assistance. The price can be high, which is true to most veterinarians anyway, but they will do what is necessary to put you and your fur child at ease. I have had three cats there now, even had to put one down, and they have been nice and helpful while keeping me feel at ease and nonjudged, even though I was an emotional mess with a not so serious issue. They kept me in the loop with his care and explained things to me, I would recommend anyone who needs immediate care to them without a doubt. Everyone there was extremely helpful, polite and understanding. I hope no one ever has to go to an emergency vet but if you do, I would 100% recommend them.

They made me feel so at home and took such good care of my little Dog. We drove all the way from Jamestown in the middle of the night thinking she was going to die. Emma is home and doing amazing! Can't thank them enough!!

The staff here was very friendly and they took my dog back for treatment immediately. Their facility was very spacious and clean. I was kept informed of her well being periodically as I waited.
Mindy DeGeer
I was happy with Tova's care but the communication was not very good. I waited for updates on her health but had to call and wait for a return call which was about 20-24 hours after her admission. I appreciated the quick triage and responses, knowledge, and care from Dr Erickson and Dr Wigglesworrh
Stacia Sanders
Exceptional service frombthe entire staff and thourough explanations of process and related fees. The staff made sure I understood what was happening and always up to speed as it was the middle of the night. The prices for services rendered were not unreasonable. Thank you for your patience and service for my little bestie. ❤️

My dog was seen quickly and the tech was very thorough in asking questions regarding my dogs seizure.
The care that was taken with my dog and the doctors honesty and caring while explaining everything was very comforting during a scary experience.

*An update to the review below! We have been to RRAH a couple times since the last review and Dr.Stegman also deserves special recognition. He was so kind, and gave us confidence with treatment plans both times we were in & was fantastic about communicating with us. The customer service reps & techs were amazing as well!
In the 5 years we’ve had our pup we’ve had to utilize Red River on multiple occasions. We have had top notch care each time. Colleen from the customer service team is always so kind and compassionate from the start. We’ve seen both Dr.Carver & Dr. Underwood and they both have always done a great job explaining diagnostic options & treatment plans. The techs are great as well! The FM area is truly lucky to have such a great resource in our community.

My Oliver is back to being his sweet self after a midnight emergency visit. I couldn't be happier with the care he received. Unsure about all the other negative posts. I didn't have any of those issues. Everyone was extremely nice to me and my Oliver, I was kept aware of what was going on, no rudeness whatsoever. One person didn't like my restricted number but I get that almost everywhere I call. As for middle of the night emergency services I expected to pay an arm and a leg to have my boy feeling better and was very surprised it wasn't even an arm. I paid more in my home state and my normal vet to have him neutered than I paid for this overnight service. I wish they offered normal vet services, I'd gladly bring Oliver back for his yearly and rabies shots. Wish I had someplace like this back where I live.

Staff was communicative, efficient, and knowledgeable! The staff worked quickly and efficiently but we as puppy parents did not feel rushed out before our questions could be answered! We came on a very busy night and they made sure we were kept informed how our puppy was doing while waiting to be seen. Thankful for all the staff do
Larisa Waterworth
Wonderful facility! We brought our puppy in and they took such good care of her, quick, friendly, and handled everything so well and professionally! Highly recommend!

We had a great experience. The care was exceptional. The staff were great to deal with. Everything was communicated very well. My dog received very good care.
Camille Metz
We have received fantastic care at RRAH for our cat who we love so much. The communication between providers and pet owners is great. I feel like my cat is loved and well taken care of at RRAH.

Long story ahead--A couple weeks before Xmas, our beloved German Shepherd started acting lethargic and had a runny nose. We thought he just had a cold. We could not get in that day to his regular vet, so we took him to RRAEH. He was immediately admitted for low blood cell counts. Over the course of about 6 weeks, RRAEH tested our Panzer for every possible cause, with nothing showing up at that point as to why his blood cells weren't regenerating. He probably had 10 blood transfusions during this time period. At one point, he was showing improvement with the medications he was on, and we thought we had found the answer only to have him start declining very rapidly the following week. I could write a book on what we all went through with him-- but, long story short-- It turned out to be an aggressive leukemia and there was nothing more we could do. We lost him on Feb 1. The staff and RRAEH was kind, compassionate, and understanding with all of our phone calls and emails with questions throughout the time of Panzer's care, and during his probably 20 visits there; As well as the day we had to say goodbye. We definitely struggled with not being allowed to go in with him each visit due to COVID-- but we understand the reasons for it completely. We received photos of him periodically while he was in, which was reassuring. As far as the cost of care, of course it's going to be expensive. A human going to the ER is expensive, and this is no different. Overall, we were very happy with the care our baby boy received, and are so glad we have a facility like RRAEH and their blood blank in our community. Their capabilities and knowledge gave Panzer a fighting chance. When he/she is old enough, we hope to bring our future dog in to be a blood donor. Thank you RRAEH staff for everything you did for Panzer.

I have been so impressed with the time and attention paid to our Basset Hound. Dr. Jong and especially Dr. Carver have been amazing. Great attention to detail and 'getting It right'. And the communication with them regarding her care was great.

Everyone I spoke with was incredibly kind and compassionate, as well as being professional and helpful. All questions were answered. DVM Stegman, who took care of our dog, Frank, was amazing! He was thorough, made sure we understood what he was looking at regarding Frank’s symptoms and what could be done for recovery! I highly recommend the Red River Animal Hospital.
Katherine Smith
Red River ER took excellent care of my dog. They called me periodically throughout the day to keep me informed of what they were doing for his care. Wonderful staff.
Charles Hartz
The Red River Animal Emergency Hospital took such good care of my pet. It’s so nice they are available 24/7. The Drs. and staff were excellent in treating my pet. They took the best care of her.
Jacenya Ruiz
The staff overall were wonderful and caring, and went above and beyond to make me feel better about my situation! I loved how thoroughly everything was explained.

Very nice staff. Made me feel at ease when I was very stressed about my pet. Kept me informed along the way. The calm manner of the check in staff was much appreciated.
Linda Short
I just got home from the RR Animal ER Hospital. I am VERY pleased. Unfortunately, they were swamped with critical cases today...BUT the staff was wonderful & explained their status. My Russian Blue mix was taken back & vitals were done. They assured me my cat was alright and there was no emergency at that moment. They gave me brief instructions for home care and were upfront about how long a wait I may have. They welcomed me back should anything change. Yes, I left without a doctor's exam BUT they were professional, they were thorough in their explanations, AND they did not charge me a dime. I was surprised that there was no waiting area for those who might want to remain on the premises until their pet could be seen. But like I said, they thoroughly explained that it would be hours. That was okay with me. I appreciated their reassurance. Thank you so much!

I brought my 7 month old pup in to RRAEH due to decreased appetite and vomiting since my regular vet’s urgent care was full. We had a wonderful experience. They informed us ahead of time that it may be a several hour wait depending on triage and other cases coming in but that I would be able to leave my pup there for monitoring and once their doc was able to examine him they would give me a call. That’s exactly what happened and Dr. Kramer explained everything thoroughly and clearly, offered me various options, and provided his recommendations. They weren’t trying to make a buck off me at all, in fact he told me they would likely just do stool sample tests and supportive care but after the stool sample came back negative I told them that I’d like to have more tests done if they feel it would be appropriate and they agreed to do more for me including blood work and X-rays. They also told me the cost for everything ahead of time and made sure I authorized it first. Thankfully all of it was essentially normal and it ended up just being gastroenteritis and they gave him some sub-q fluids, anti-nausea meds, metronidazole (antibiotic), and some prescription canned food for a few days. The front desk staff and vet tech were also very professional and comforting. I am thankful and reassured to know that I have them available to me just 12 minutes from my house, 24/7. Thank you Dr Kramer and staff at RRAEH. I’m very appreciative of your help with getting Jackson back to his normal self.

My husband said - It’s a first class operation! It was quite the drive for us from Grafton, but when it’s late on Saturday your choices are few and far between. Staff were great, facility is really nice. They kept us informed and the price was half of what we expected. Would definitely have no qualms about going there again. Larry says thank you and his siblings Harlyn and Gary, are happy he’s home! (The cats don’t care 😂)

To the RRAEH Staff:
This past Monday, our family cat, Smokey, was brought to this facility for emergency care. I’m afraid that in the moment I didn’t collect the names of the individuals I interacted with. That said, from those at the front desk to the doctor and assistants in the hospital area, Smokey and I were treated with such affection from everyone involved. Your candor, honesty, and genuinely caring demeanor for the situation cannot be overlooked. There were no judgements, “you should haves”, or inuendo that would have compounded my grief. All my interactions with staff were met with dignity and the utmost respect and tenderness for my emotions at the time.
While regretfully things didn’t go as we had hoped, I want to offer my sincere thanks for making this experience endurable. I’m not sure (especially in end-of-life circumstances like these) if you ever get much praise. But praise is certainly deserving. I’m sure that you deal with this type of experience over and over again, which likely takes its toll at the end of the workday. But amidst such challenges, please hear me when I say that you are doing things right. You are doing things the right way. Thank you.
As far as finance matters go, all were professional and up-front with costs. This isn't a personal thing - it's a business thing. Just part of the process.
Anyway, I hope that this review reaches those so deserving of my thanks. Your efforts are helping us (me in particular) to move forward with the fun memories of our pet, while putting the grief of Monday swiftly behind us.
Lydia Beauclair
The staff at this animal hospital are absolutely incredible. I took my cat in with some worrying symptoms, but nothing that was life or death. I was afraid I might look funny because I didn’t have a big emergency, but the staff were so kind, caring, respectful, and professional about my situation. They gave my cat great care while she was there and very thorough and comprehensive care instructions for at home. They took her back immediately and spoke to me on the phone about the steps along the way as they happened. I seriously cannot recommend these guys enough. Huge thank you from me and Swing Set!

I have had to take my rabbit Oswald here 2 times recently. Everyone was so kind from the reception, to the techs, and the very kind Dr. Donoghue (I believe she treated Oswald both times). Over a year ago, I had to euthanize a different rabbit and they were very kind and compassionate— even during covid, they were there for me and my rabbit. I was concerned about bringing Oswald here, with the bad memory, but the caring environment and not mentioning the history when looking at my file was appreciated more than they knew. Oswald has made a full recovery each time, and the honesty about pricing was very good. If they took appointments at a smaller fee, I would absolutely bring both my bunnies here as their primary care— and I live in Grand Forks. Thank you for all you do!
Samantha Jeanotte
I can’t to begin to express how thankful we are for this amazing place. We were treated with such kindness, honesty regarding pricing and they were extremely personable with us and our decisions. We were very worried when Stanley had to be seen for his vomiting. They took him in right away, were upfront with the wait time, which doesn’t even matter to us. We just want him to get helped. Once again.... I will always take my pets here from now on. HOPEFULLY I DONT HAVE TO 😉
Thanks again to each and every one of you who work here. We are beyond impressed and thankful.
Stanley says “Thanks for spoiling me 🐶”

My partner and I brought our adult cat and kitten in a few weeks ago, worried out of our minds. During the 48 hours they had to stay and be monitored, we were BLOWN AWAY by the personability, compassion and communication their staff had. They sent updates with photos every few hours, which helped put ours/my worries at ease, knowing they were being taken care of.
Julia Dangerfield
The staff and veterinarian were all very kind and thorough in their instruction. They helped me to understand the benefits and risks of my animals surgery. The procedure was explained beforehand and the after care instructions were very thorough by phone so I could ask questions and then I got a printed version with important instructions highlighted.
Jim Hammond
Teddy was very lethargic for 2 days. Brought him in to emergency to be seen.
Staff was very friendly and professional. It took a long time but we were kept informed by text and vet called.
Ended up being back problems he is now home on pain and inflammation medication.
He would have had to wait another 4 days to see his regular vet.
Very lucky to have such a place to bring your pet for great emergency care
Dara Narlock
My experience with Red River Animal Emergency Hospital was fantastic. My questions were answered quickly and clearly, Mooch received fantastic care, and the frequent updates and pictures gave me peace of mind during a stressful time. I could not be happier with the care he received. I loved the pictures and updates throughout the day! I missed Mooch so much and this helped me feel better while he was receiving care.
Alexis Suhr
We are very pleased with the care our dog received. They promptly took her back to be tended to. The communication was great from the receptionist, vet tech, and the doctor. I am so grateful to have this hospital available to us and would recommend them to anyone! We are impressed with the great care provided and optimal communication from the hospital.
Rucker Staggers
This was my first experience with a emergency vet visit so I wasnt really sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff assisted me right away, was very friendly and explained the process clearly. They took a thorough history and made sure to ask relevant questions. Dr Kuklock was very friendly and did a great job. She kept me informed by phone along the way and took excellent care of our furry little family member. The discharge instructions were clear and helpful. I would be confident returning to this practice if I ever needed to. Thank you!
Maggie Ridley
The staff here were phenomenal with both us and our pet! Fantastic communication. We always felt we knew what was going on and loved that they sent pictures of our pet throughout his stay. We are so thankful to have our pet back safe and healthy!

Yesterday on 8/7/2022, my sister and I made the hard decision to put our family dog at peace. Red a River Animal Hospital went above and beyond our expectations on making the process as comfortable and easy as possible. We were in a private room and we’re allowed our moments to say goodbye to our Max. He was 15 years old and wasn’t in his best health. Her rushed him there from Detroit Lakes. The vet was so kind and even told Max goodbye. They apologized multiple times and were so comforting for us. After the process was done, we got ink paw prints of his feet and a sand impression of one of his paws, which was included in the process. I’m so thankful for the team and how comforting it was for us. This was our first time having to let a pet go and they made it so easy and less painful. Thank you to the team member who assisted us with this process. We truly appreciate everything you did for us. Rest easy Max

I just picked up my girl kaia from there care yesterday. She was there 2 nights. Kaia so far goes undiagnosed however this is not because lack of effort by the team she had at the hospital. My sentiment is shared with some other reviewers. The care they provide is amazing however it is unfortunate we, as owners, have to choose between paying bills or letting our loved ones go. Kaias case has been very non typical and we hope to have answers soon, with the last test we performed. The staff were all very kind, communicated well, and helped me feel heard through this difficult time. It's unfortunate we can't insure our pets the same way we are. I am over 4k in and not done yet. I appreciate everyone that helped to take such good care of my baby the last few days. She wouldn't be here if it weren't for the team she had. And for that I will forever be grateful for. Right down to the receptionists, everyone was so kind. Special shout out to mack at the front. I feel like he goes above and beyond to be kind. Dr. Wigglesworth and Dr. Karver. Thank you again. And to all the vet techs I didn't get the chance to meet. You guys are heroes 👏
Sherry Villiard
Had a long wait, but many emergencies ahead of us. They took good care of our dog during the wait. We have been there before, and they have always taken great care with our pets.

Dr. Carver took such amazing care of my cat, Sonny. I would trust him with my animals lives 100 times over— he kept us up to date on how our little boy was doing, and was honest with us on the best care for him. Unfortunately, Sonny had to be put down, but Dr. Carver assured my partner and I that we were doing the right thing, and I truly appreciate him for everything he did. That being said, my overall experience with most of the staff was good, although most of the receptionists are absolutely terrible and entirely unsympathetic. I’ve never felt such cold treatment from someone while I’m sobbing over the last moments of my cats life. Amazing veterinarians, but terrible receptionists— they are the face of your company and they made me feel terrible.

our little dog Sammy got a severe hit to the head, i figured him dead. with the Grace of God and these fine people, Sammy came home in three days. Great and very friendly, knowledgeable people, very compassionate, felt very comfortable there. You cant go wrong, we thank you!
Kristina Reynolds
Shadow was well taken care of while she was there. Examination was thorough. Taking the time to explain the care our pet was going to receive was great!!
Rachel Sanden
Staff is always friendly, helpful and clear on what is happening. Communication while the fur babies are inside makes it a little easier, a little less scary, knowing they're being loved and taken care of.
Brianna Boekelman
We are so impressed with the care our goldendoodle Bodie received during his stay. Everyone we had contact with during our time was great. We will definitely choose this facility again for our emergency needs.
Alison Wolbeck
When my cat was very ill they did what they could to help, but she died very quickly after my arrival. The entire staff was so caring and kind I will never forget their compassion. The only drawback is that it is a bit difficult to find the first time since the signage is not very clear.
Laura Wehri
The level of care was so heartwarming. I appreciate that they fit my cat in and gave her the best care. Welcoming manner and knowledge of all staff was greatly appreciated.
Dominique C. Jeter
Overall, my partner and I were impressed with the animal hospital. The customer service here is beyond fantastic and they strive to answer any and all question. We also loved that they called and gave us pricing before moving forward with anything for our cat. The reason for the 4 out of 5 stars if for the multiple scars/shaved spots our cat has. We were unaware of how many times they tried drawing blood on her. Therefore, she was nicked once and has bruising on the other shaved area. I would recommend going here in a heartbeat as they truly helped our car recover from the issues she was having.
Kimberly Olson
Kindness!!! Outstanding kindness from the entire staff. Benny was NEVER treated or talked about as if he were just the "next patient". Everyone made me feel like Benny was their top priority!! Dr. Carver was so kind and outstanding in his obvious compassion for animals and with giving me the complete confidence that I needed that I was making the right choice for my dog Benny.
Kelsie Okeson
RRAEH is a top notch animal hospital. I am always impressed with their professionalism and timeliness considering the amount of patients they care for. I appreciate having the RRAEH in Fargo when my dog needs it. I don't have enough good things to say about this place. They sent me a photo in the middle of the day of him having a treat. They were so busy with other patients but STILL made time for my dog while he waited.
Alexandra Kent
Great care, picture updates, and good communication about my cat. The vets and vet techs are easily reachable whenever you want an update on your baby.
Moriah Schneider
We have a small Yorkie-Poodle mix that loves to try to eat everything he can. One day he swallowed a squeaker. We didn’t think he would be able to pass it, so to the emergency vet we went. The staff was extremely kind, and when the x-rays didn’t show anything conclusive, the doctor gave me instructions on what to do to come back and worked with me on every financial front he could.
We aren’t from the Fargo area, so we don’t get to take our vets here very often. Plus I would hope that we wouldn’t need to bring them to emergency room, anyway! But if you have to head in somewhere, I found this place to be an excellent option.
Pat Simmons
Best vet in the area and having them available 24hrs a day is a huge relief when you need them! They are so amazing and do everything they can to provide for your little pet family.
Lara Soeth
The visit was great. The tech that came got out dog remembered her from a year ago when we were in. The vet was so great with all the calls with updates. So glad we have the e vet hospital in town.
Penny Briese
I posted about Sheldon's visit on Facebook! You guys were super! I never even knew you were there until my vet referred us! Everyone there showed true compassion and caring for Sheldon. We were so worried about him! He felt so much better after your care, he's almost smiling!
Kristine Lovejoy
We had a great experience at Red River Animal Hospital. The employees were very compassionate!
Jeff Nardello
Our dog ate a corn cob we realized this at 12:30 am. After a quick search online we found this to be fatal to dogs. Our vet recommended Red River Vet Emergency.
We called immediately they confirmed our fears. After our 1.45 hr ride we arrived to find very friendly sympathetic staff who we fast courteous professional and informative explaining everything as they went.
Within an hour and a half we were in our way home with a saved dog.
Thank you guys for your help. We so appreciate all you did for Ginger and us.
Stacey Olsen
Good communication and sense of caring as well as urgency. Good care of my pet
Kyla Aamodt
Everyone was so friendly and made sure I knew the process and made it easy to trust them. I really appreciate how friendly and knowledgeable everyone i spoke to was, it really eased my anxiety and made me feel like we were in good hands. And my puppy walked straight into the back, she's typically hesitant- the fact that she wasn't, made me so happy.
Saralynn Dobler
I am just very thankful that Fargo has a 24/7 clinic and especially one that cares about animals. The constant updates on the time it would take and the amount it would cost are super helpful, and also the care you gave my Sudo.
Alex Chaput
Staff was very friendly and informative, and took great care of my dog. They took my concerns about my dog and addressed them right away and kept me informed the whole visit.
Jennifer Kovatch
The awesome team at Red River Emergency recently cared for my sick kitten. They have a stream-lined set up, and my kitten was assessed quickly. The veterinarians offered me treatment options and alternatives, and a reasonable estimate for services. I received at least 4 updates in the 24 hours my kitten was hospitalized, and the staff gave my little one plenty of attention. I am grateful that they were available and able to help my kitten get through his serious illness when his care surpassed what my regular veterinarian was comfortable providing.
I have seen reviews complaining about "cost of care." This is an emergency walk-in veterinary clinic that provides critical care for very sick/injured animals, and their services are billed accordingly.
I am again grateful they are in the Fargo area and were willing/able to take care of my sick kitten. I would not hesitate to use their services again, and recommend them very highly.
Stacie Morrison
Amazing service! Always updated about my dog and love the pictures that came. That was a huge highlight for us to see those to know that he was doing good. Pictures every day & the phone call from the vets to know the progress over my puppy. They saved his life after being hit my a vehicle on a busy highway. Amazing job, my dog Titan wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them! Thank you so much for all that you do!!
Andreanna Sander
We just got home from taking our dog Willow in for a deep cut on her leg. Although it was a long wait being that this unfortunately is the only 24 hour animal emergency hospital, and many patients needed to be seen, they still took amazing care of our Willow. The vet who cared for Willow did a great job tending to her wounds and explaining the process of what she would be doing to Willow to help her heal. As well as The vet tech doing an amazing job providing us with home instructions regarding medication and cleaning of the wound. She is now home sleeping as it is 3:20am and she has had a very long eventful day.
Also, I can’t help but be curious about the new addition. I can’t wait to see it finished.

Kept me informed at all times of my pet's care. Very kind and sympathetic. Kindness
J Walsh
I'm am so very thankful for them. They are kind, very knowledgeable, and have been wonderful to me and every pet I've ever had an emergency with. I now live in Thief River Falls MN and for emergencies still drive to them, even though it's over 2 hours away.
I have had to put my elderly pets down over the years and they have always shown me nothing but caring, kindness and deep empathy.
I went to them even before they moved to the new place. They have a beautiful room made up like a living room that you can spend those last moment while you say your goodbyes. They come into the room when your ready and you can stay with you beloved animal till the end. After, they give you as much time as you need in that beautiful room. No rushing you out just understanding and compassion. You can get ink paw prints and a plaster cast of their paws prints too if you like.
I have to go today because it's my little Gracie's time. I'm driving the over two hour once more because it's worth it.
Thank you so much for all you have done for my little furry babies and the peace of mind and heart you have given me and my family.
Cassie Thordarson
Everyone was so sweet! My dog doesn't do well with strangers but you could tell all of the staff were animal lovers and that eased my mind, knowing Lucy was surrounded by good people. Everyone was so kind and I appreciated being asked before they gave her meds or performed any tests, just incase I couldn't afford the bill.
Michelle Schlepp
Our recent experience was one of our scariest for our Doberman Mila. Her extended visit was hard on the family and her. Staff sending pictures throughout her recovery helped our kids. Seeing her being well taken care of made the time she was away a little better. Treated Mila and the family with kindness.
Our family is very grateful to have your clinic in our community. Our furry family members have had to utilize the clinic unfortunately several times. Thank you for what you do!
Treated Mila and the family with kindness.
Ally Nielsen
I’ve thankfully only had to use the emergency hospital once but from the front desk to the Dr to the technicians, everyone was so helpful. I got thorough information about my dog & what their plan was, they gave estimates prior to treating him so I knew what to expect. They welcomed questions I had. The wait time was a little bit long, but I understood that going into it since my dog was likely not as urgent as some of the other cases. That was explained to me prior to checking him in as well, though! Overall a very good experience all things considered!
Kailey schlosser
Red river valley staff was very helpful and caring towards my dog in an emergent situation They kept me updated several times through out the day and sent me a goodnight Picture of her which I thought was so sweet! They got her in right away and seemed very caring and understanding. I would highly recommend them to friends and family
Faye Foster
I have been to the RRAEH multiple times through the years and I have always felt like I was given great care and advice. I would have like to have spoken with the vet in person instead of on the phone this last visit, however I don't know if it was the circumstances or something that has changed. The advice that was given such as food recommendations and supplements, as well as the diagnosis was appreciated
Sonya Huesman
Conveniently located, responsive staff, seemed well organized for treating emergency patients (not chaotic). Excellent communication once my dog was in your care. The picture someone sent after he was treated and settled for the night was reassuring.
Megan Degenstein
I was so appreciative of the clinic's staff, and for the wonderful help I received there. They seem to have a good streamlined process with texting updates. and the doctor I talked to was extremely helpful and explained things clearly. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, despite how stressed I was. I felt confident they cared and would take good care of my pet.
Janelle Alexander
We experienced exceptional care for our Shi poo, when he was attacked by a bear in the middle of the night. The entire staff at RRAEH were caring, knowledgeable, efficient, and kept us updated on all procedures administered and on the progress that our dog was making. We live three hours away and I was more than comfortable in leaving our Louie with the staff at RRAEH for a few days when we went back home to Bemidji. The night staff sent updates and pictures of our fur baby and Dr. Carver contacted us daily with personal updates. I can't thank the entire staff enough for Louie's exceptional physical and mental care while he was in their care. Love, love, love this place!!

Took my dog in yesterday, around 6am, I was anxious about leaving him there because he has never been away from us, in addition to him not feeling well. The staff there at drop off was super friendly, I left feeling like my dog was in good hands. Dr. Kramer was wonderful! We spoke multiple times, he explained everything to me as far as treatments, the issues my dog was experiencing, etc. I felt comforted by speaking to someone who was so knowledgeable.
The staff at pick up, (around 10am) on the other hand, was really unprofessional. I walked in smiled, said "Hi", the 2 women at the desk just stared at me. I walk up to the the desk, none of them says anything to let me know who to talk to. The first woman that I walk up to just points at the other woman with tattoos, so I go over to her. The second woman again says nothing to me. I give my name, to pick up my dog. She gives me my total...almost $600. The only words spoken to me were 1) the total 2) to let me know that someone would be out with my dog. She calls someone to bring him out. While I'm waiting, she coughs on me, doesn't cover her mouth. Just really rude. Before taking my dog in, I did read the review from a few months ago posted by another patron regarding the rude receptionists. I agree, they are the face of your company. They could at the very least greet your customers.
Shelby Stewart
I loved the daily updates and pictures while my pup was an inpatient. And getting to visit her as much as I wanted was so calming for both of us. The level of care and love that they showed us for our dog made us feel more comfortable leaving her there.
Ryan Hennager
Overall, happy with outcome. Pleased with kindness shown to my pet
Shylan Peterson
Everyone was so very kind, helpful and empathetic. I went in a wreck knowing that prognosis was probably not going to be good and I wasn't able to think straight. The staff helped me every step of the way and did everything they could to make it easier. Even when we had to come in the following morning to say good bye to my precious companion. All their compassion and thoughtfulness made a traumatic painful experience a little easier. I cannot express enough gratitude. Thank you so much!
Beth Sinclair
All the staff I interacted with and spoke to over the phone were very kind and patient. My pet got in right away and they kept me updated on their and his progress. Updates throughout his whole stay
He had broken his elbow and they did a great job getting him comfortable until I could get him to my primary vet to get pins placed to stabilize the break
Haley Hanson
I couldn't be more thankful for RRAEH. I've had a sick dog for weeks with no answers and we finally got one with them. I couldn't imagine life without our Finley. Dr. Kramer, Dr. Wigglesworth and staff were extremely helpful and caring. We finally have our boy back and healthy. They updated me constantly throughout his stay and I knew he was in great hands. I can't thank you all enough! Finley is doing much better and will be back to himself soon enough. I wish I could give you more than 5 stars!
Stacy Huss
The Vet,Ben Stegman as well as tech and front desk have amazing bed side manner and extremely kind!! Vet discovered a concern with my dog, that my regular vet never noticed! Whenever you have to be at the ER with your fur baby, you want the best and this place is it!!
Sadie
Took great care of my dog. The waiting was difficult but I understand there are other patients and you triage. Gave after care instructions and explanation of what was done. The email follow up was nice with all the orders and treatment.
Tara Pearson
With Covid so many things have changed. When i brought Muffin in last everything was so organized - checked in and then a separate call to get information. Never easy to leave a pet but just seemed easier last night- the vet was awesome with calls and concerns and was so caring. Very informative with information. Keeping in touch- very concerned and informative

A clean, professional facility. Everyone was kind and helpful and I felt like my pet was in good hands. I appreciated the picture updates so I could see him. I also appreciated that I was allowed to visit him during his overnight stay and bring some comfort items for him.
Madison Maides
The care team was so kind, helpful, knowledgeable, made us feel comforted and informed while our pet was in their care. The level of care and comfort that the staff provided. They acted very professional and made us feel like they also deeply cared about our pet.
Marti Brown
The first time we visited Red River Animal Emergency Hospital was because our beloved 15 year old husky had a stroke and had to be euthanized. They were so gentle and caring. They put us in a special room and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye. The doctor came in and stayed with us while she passed. The second time was because we were worried that our puppy had swallowed a button cell battery. They understood that time was of the essence and got him back for an xray immediately. They kept updating us on his condition and, luckily he was just fine. Again, everyone was so kind. Their prices are reasonable for the care they provide. We highly recommend them.
Mary Roppe
Thankfully they were able to suture my dogs face and communication was excellent. The techs were great!! Thank you!!
Jill Anderson
You guys are the best! Thank you for taking such good care of our Jackson! You treat our dog like he's your pet. Everyone is so caring!
Amy Johnson
The staff is always friendly and so caring in all situations. I was able to get my dog taken back immediately which made me feel so comforted that he was in immediate care. That my dog was taken back immediately
Tim Wald
They did take care of my pet but one of the ladies tried to make it sound like I didn't know how to take care of my reptile It's 10 years old and very healthyI don't know why she was trying to do that
Nick Mohs
Dr. Jong(spelling?) Was incredible at keeping me informed about changes to the initial diagnosis, results and how Sega was doing. You saved my dog's life
Tiff S
I've never had a bad experience coming here. Expensive, but not bad. Thank you for all you do! The kindness and efficiency of the staff is wonderful!
April Flyberg
From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted with kindness. The front desk staff, the technicians and especially the doctors were all fantastic. We appreciated the calls and text updates SO MUCH while our girl spent the night. They went the extra mile reaching out to the surgeon in another state who had recently done a surgery on our pup to run a treatment plan by him and coordinate her care. Our primary vet was also kept in the loop after her discharge. We are very thankful for their care in getting our girl back to her normal self. We are so lucky to have this wonderful, growing facility available in Fargo!

I felt heard and my dogs care was very thorough. I am very thankful I was there when a cardiologist was there. Aftercare was very helpful and thorough. All around extremely appreciated and have always had great care coming here Thorough and thoughtful triage and willingness to take time out of the busy schedule to view ekg. This seems very rare these days
Michelle Barry
We were treated with such kindness and care. The overall cost was a lot less expensive than I was anticipating. Our pets are priceless, but just like any emergency, they are unexpected and costly, having it not be as costly was a relief.
Nora Christensen
The staff was professional, concise, and considerate through out the whole process. The doctor that was assign d to me was incredibly friendly, had a solid grasp on what was going on with my dog, and explained it clearly. I couldn’t ask for more.
Pam Spaeth
In a very stressful time everyone made me calmer with pictures of Wilson and frequent calls from the Veterinarians who treated him. I am extremely pleased with the care he received. The pictures of him twice a day.
Sara Sell
RRAEH is a very nice facility, with amazing staff. The staff's willingness to get updates for me throughout the day was so helpful during a stressful time.
Hope Jutz
We are so thankful to have a clinic to help at the wee hours of the night when Gucci was not doing well. She wouldn’t have made it if we weren’t able to bring her in right away. The whole clinic and all the staff members were so helpful through the whole process. She’s a different dog now and we have the E-Clinic to thank!
Tamara (IsukiKane)
Unfortunately, we had to put our sweet Tigger down due to diabetes complications. They were so kind, allowing us private time alone with my sweet kitty. They wrapped him up so he would be more comfortable. They gave us a beautiful imprint of his little paw,as well as ink prints. I opted for private cremation and getting my baby back. It was heartbreaking but they treated sweet Tigger with such respect, even carrying him out after he was gone. They treated him so gently, and made it easier than it would have been had I not have had the time alone with him. I hopefully will get his ashes back soon. Thank you for helping us through such a horrible time, giving my furbaby the dignity he so deserved.
Rory Anderson
We absolutely LOVE this place! First off, the staff is just outstanding and caring. We recently had to bring our Boston Terrier - Rambo - in for stomach issues which required him staying overnight.
The moment we walked in, the staff was attentive and friendly and handled things methodically in their process. They texted updates of Rambo through the day/evening/night - and the follow-up and follow-thru was staggering. They did everything they said they would do and more.
We highly recommend Red River Animal Emergency Hospital and wish we could bring our pups to them for everything.
I'd rather bring my elderly parents here for anything they have going on, than any hospital we've been to.
Thank you RRAE for being such an outstanding and professional business!
Kelly Anne
Everyone we encountered was very friendly, explained the process thoroughly, and communicated efficiently! Thank you Dr Jong and everyone who cared for our fur baby Chloe this weekend.

I cannot thank this team enough for saving my boy Rufus after he was mauled by two dogs. They took him in as fast and they could and provided the best care I could have asked for. I felt safe leaving him there. They were very informative in explaining his injuries and treatments. Not only that, the whole staff I dealt with was very friendly and sure did like my Roofiepoo. This ordeal lasted a month with 5 days of in-patient care and weekly visits for check-ups to ensure his wounds were healing and he was healthy. I will trust Red River Animal Hospital with all my emergency fur baby needs.
THANK YOU!!!!
Daisy Williams
Even though our pet bunny crossed the Rainbow Bridge after we took the hour long trip to the pet er the staff treated him and us with the utmost care and respect. After his death they gave us a private place to visit with him and a paw print memento. He was 10 years old and we knew he might not survive whatever illness that struck him so suddenly. They were willing to do whatever it took to help him, including multiple rounds of cpr. For that we are thankful. No one in our area was willing to take him or they had appointments weeks out. We will always be grateful they were there and tried their best.
Heather Elhard
We had to come down to red river animal hospital this summer for our shitzu puppy. All of a sudden he started to not look good and threw up everyone 20-40 minutes. We were forced to come here as all of the other vets in Jamestown were closed for the weekends. Brought him down at 7:30 at night. Paid the exam fee which I think was around $150.finally at 3Am we received a call back saying he digested some clothing and would possible need surgery. They said to wait on that and do some Medicine to make sure it all passes through him. They then asked for the payment which was over 2,000. Morning came and they said hadn’t worked and to try more Medicine. Another 1500 later they finally said he was eating drinking and playing again and all good to come home. They took great care and updated us with photos but the amount we were charged was crazy since no surgery or anything surgical happens just medicine. All done we walked out with a bill over 3600. We were very very grateful for how good of care they took for our pup, but still amazed by how much they charged.
Breeanna McDougle
The staff was very welcoming and took care of our pup! Keeping us up to date and the friendly staff

I can't thank Red River Animal Emergency Hospital enough for the quick response to our Verts referral for a CT Scan. My Vet had referrals sent to the U of M in Minneapolis and one other specialty Clinic in the Minneapolis metro. I had a bad feeling that was not going to get a response back in time to diagnose my Dogs condition so I contacted RRAEH to see if they could perform the CT Scan. They informed me that they could with a referral from my vet. I requested my vet send them a referral and they responded back Immediately that they received It. They scheduled the appointment before the other two had even acknowledged the referral even though the referral was sent to them a day later than the other Hospitals.
The staff was kind and very professional. I made sure I recommended them to my vet here in Maple Grove MN to put RRAEH on their referral list and noted the excellent response and service. Even though it is a 4 hour drive to Fargo this was a better option. They scheduled a CT scan appointment before the U of M had even reviewed the referral.
Ultimately once the U of M contacted me the RRAEH was able to schedule the CT Scan 4 weeks earlier than the u of M would have been able.
I can't express enough my gratitude to the Red River Animal Emergency Hospital for their excellent response time and kind, professional staff!
Shelica Smith
I appreciated the photo updates as well as the phone calls to let me know the status updates of my dog while going through the procedure. Especially since I was almost 3 hours away from my dog. The updates.
Kasandra Gregoire
They were compassionate and worked as quickly as they could. They answered all of my questions and kept me involved with decisions and gave me a timeline they were always very close to following. That all depends on the other emergencies, but they try and be as clear as they can be.
Andy Cooper
The staff was extremely helpful and caring! The facility was very nice and the fact that they are open 24/7 is awesome and extremely appreciated! The friendly staff was more than I could have expected.
Tanya Meheski
I was impressed with how fast Luigi was brought back when we arrived and how fast the vet came to talk to Me. Speed in getting Luigi seen and communication during his stay.
There was a discrepancy in the cost of his stay/procedure from what they quoted me and what they charged but they are working on that with me.
Betsy Cason
Unfortunately we ended up losing our sweet boy but the staff was very accommodating and sincere and kind. The vet delivered our options and gave us price quotes in a nonjudgmental way along with her recommendations with quality of life expectancy. I am very grateful the staff made my dogs last hours gentle and as comfortable as possible. Afterwards the staff delivered me a clay imprint of his paw, along with an ink stamp a few days later. We will miss our boy terribly but the staff did their best in a very difficult situation.
John Schilling
Red River helped Buddy, a wonderful dog rescued by a shelter who adopted me on sight. When I broke my right leg socket at night in 12•F and snow, he literally saved my life.
He suffered acute pancreatitis which I was unable to pay for and Red River made arrangements which enabled Bud to receive fantastic treatment! I will adhere to that agreement religiously, what RRAEH did was wonderful...Thank You
Lindsey Froehlich
I'm so thankful to have an emergency vet in town. I've needed their services several times for two of my pets, and we've always received great care. All of the staff are very professional and helpful.
Hanna Dufault
Really scary moment when I had to rush my dog to the hospital. They took amazing care of her and kept me informed along the way! Staff is incredible and I appreciate all the care you take into treating our fur babies!
Pearl Paschke
Everyone was professional and friendly. And treatment and plan was explained well. Everyone seemed to care
Maranda Rollins
I took my cat of 16 years in and ended up having to make the sudden and heartbreaking decision to put him down. The staff was so incredibly kind and comforting. We never felt rushed, and they explained everything to us and we were able to be with him for his last moments. It was a truly heartbreaking experience that was made as comfortable and smooth as possible. The staff was knowledgeable, kind, compassionate and caring. I cannot say enough great things about the people we worked with there during a difficult time.
jim deremo
I have taken my dogs to them and they were very kind and courteous every time. The really do care about the health concerns you have for you pets.
Heidi Anderson
We have brought many animals to RRAEH - cats, guinea pigs, dog, etc., and the staff and doctors have always been so patient, kind, and communicated options clearly. I've never felt judged or intimidated by the professionals; I have complete trust in RRAEH. Explanation of options and cost is communicated clearly, directly, and with compassion.
Miss Mayhem
Staff was incredible and comforting. We ended up having to put our baby girl down but the vet was honset with me about everything that went on and understanding. I believe they did everything possible to save my childhood family dog. They gave us as much time as we needed to say Goodbye and made the process comfortable. You could tell they cared! Only down side is it was spendy but its to be expected for an emergency call and such. I'm truly appreciative of everything. Getting her paw print in cement was an added bonus which touches my heart!
Kim Skog
RR took such good care of my sweet boy. They sent me pictures of him every morning and evening and kept me in the loop about what was going on.
They saved his life, and while it was expensive, it was less then they originally quoted and I got a refund from my first charge. I highly recommend it then to anyone needing emergency vet care.
Cindy Jarmin
I am so grateful for the wonderful care that was given to my dogs today! The staff is extremely helpful and caring, I recommend anyone that is looking for caring staff and a facility that is super clean to care for your pet in emergent situations bring them to Red River Animal Emergency Hospital.
KIM
Our puppy, Henry, ended up getting a really red eye that looked badly infected. We went to Red River Animal Emergency Hospital as advised by our regular vet who was unable to see him. They were great from start to finish. We were kept updated regularly and the staff addressed any concerns we had. Henry was sent home on an antibiotic and is already starting to look better!
KT O
I was very impressed with the calm and through job the team did. They were very understanding, not rushed to get to the next thing, but rather answered all my questions and asked questions to ensure they had all the details to best serve my dog.The considerate interactions and positive engagement with both my girl and I.
Madison Hahn
We brought our extremely constipated & puking 12 year old dog to Red River Animal Emergency Hospital. We were more than impressed with the care and compassion provided here- towards us and our dog. Personal phone calls from the vet updating us throughout the process. I will definitely be coming here for any future needs. And the price for everything that was done was extremely manageable. Thank you for everything you did for Bently!!!
Sarah Wess
Amazing team. Makes sure we're in the loop and fully understand everything. Always willing to answer questions and provide guidance. You saved Elvis' life. Your expertise and knowledge and your compassion made going through this a little bit easier.
Sharon Spittler
Excellent medical care! Dr. Stegman is absolutely the best. So compassionate and gave us time I know he didn't have with all the patients he was caring for! Thank you to All the staff who texted us photos and took our many phone calls with such compassion and care.
Melanie Witt-Kikta
While traveling from Bend OR to Norwalk CT my dog became very ill Red River Valley Emergency Vet clinic popped up on Google with good ratings
I phoned and and they were able to see her She was triaged and Dr Kramer did an amazing job stabilizing her
With the help of staff I was able to get my dog back to CT
Thank you so much for everything
Debbie Kossow
Our dog had a.open wound with a bone sticking out. No one in my town could fit her in to be seen. Red River Animal Emergency clinic immediately told us to come in. Called when we got there, they met us with a cart and took her in for the assessment. Gave us our options. Did what they had to with compassion! Strongly recommend them!
Addie Steile
Brought in my baby parakeet late tonight as he was feeling ill. The staff are all so kind and caring. You can just feel the love they have for animals. They saved my baby’s life. I thank them for everything they do and the time and work they dedicate to our babies.
The staff truly want to help your pet. They care about what is best for them and how they can help. I truly am beyond thankful for everyone that was working tonight when I brought Kiwi in. The kindness you showed to me and my baby bird will live forever in my heart. Thank you.
April Erickson
I would give them 2.5 if I could. I am not going to write a novel on my whole experience just key points.
1. Communication… not very good. You are told you will receive a call around a specific time or within a couple hours and you won’t. You will have to call into the office to receive your updates. I understand with covid and considering this is an emergency facility you can’t always be perfect with timing but you need to at least try and communicate.
2. Dr.Underwood only seems to care about $$$. Out of the 16 calls (6 incoming and 10 outgoing) to RREAH (within a 24 hour period) 2 dealt with his initial check in, 2 dealt with his check out and the only call I received about his “well-being” was to tell me they will callback to collect a $1600 payment.
My animals are my life and she treated him like an income source!!
This is the second time I have dealt with Dr.Underwood. Once in October of 2020 and this time. She treated me the same both times.
3. Dr. Carver and Zac both deserve 5 stars!!! They both seemed to truly care about my fur baby.
If your animal is truly in an emergency situation I would still bring them in IF you have no other options.
Paula Living With MS
The process at RRAEC flows so smoothly and every person I spoke with was so friendly that it really put me at ease while my dog was in their care. We couldn’t get in with our regular vet for almost a week. Being able to go straight to RRAEC was great! I hope emergency care is never needed again, but I feel so much better knowing that RRAEC is there 24/7.
Debra Massey
This was the first time we have used the Red River Animal Emergency Hospital. I will highly recommend your facility. I most appreciated two things: the fact that you were available on a weekend when I would have no other veterinary options for a sick pet and the caring shown to my pet and me.
timothy brown
We have nothing but wonderful things to say about the hospital and it’s staff. We had to put our beloved dog to sleep. The staff was extremely caring and attentive. Even with all the Covid restrictions the staff kept us very informed and was very sensitive to our situation. The area that we were taken to, to spend time with our pup before she was put down was extremely nice and a warm environment to be in during the time. A big thanks to everyone for caring for our girl!
Juli Martinson
The team at RREAC has been awesome every time I've had to bring a pet in. Everyone from front desk, to Vet Techs to the Docs are so caring! It’s incredible how kind you are and how great the thorough follow up is!
Kristin Keal
My entire family - humans, and fur-baby have been so blessed by the care and attention from doctors and staff at RRAEM! Our pup has been cared for as a patient and was recruited into the blood-donor program. I wish we do all our vetting at the Hospital - emergency and non-emergency!
Jordan Wiedmann
Our cat Oliver was taken such good care of! They were great about communicating with us and laying out our options. They also were great about follow up questions I had a few days after discharge.
Maggie Stende
Normally, I would have preferred to go to my regular vet, however when I called them to get in, it would have been 4 p.m. the next day and I didn't think our situation should wait that long. I appreciated the pleasant and welcoming staff and phone calls from vet and staff to keep me updated.
Kenzie Lindblad
They took excellent care of my dog peanut and I'm so grateful for the awesome and friendly staff. They were very helpful, compassionate, and kind throughout the difficult situation we were dealing with. They even sent photo updates of my puppy which made me feel more at ease. I'm really grateful for the entire staff. Thanks for all you do.
Trista P
I cant express how thankful I am to every single staff member at this hospital. The communication about the recommended care and pricing was great and the kindness and compassion was touching. I really trusted my kitty in their care.
Anita Price
Everyone was so caring and loving to our Rue. She had great care the entire time she was there getting evaluated. From swaddling her, checking her for possible injuries, communicating to us; all extended love to our puppy during a time of stress.
Amanda Stende
Not a place you ever want to have to go, but I'm so thankful that we have this service. The team here is absolutely fantastic! They were so kind and caring. They sent several pictures of my kitty during his sleep over and kept me well informed of how he was doing, how his condition was improving, and what the markers for discharge were. I cannot say enough kind things about the wonderful team working here. Thank you!

The staff were so welcoming and kind. We brought our cat in for end of life care, and they made the difficult experience easier with their compassion and respect. They allowed us privacy to say our goodbyes in a room that was set up as a living room, not an exam room. They gave us a clay pawprint and an ink pawprint to take home. Definitely recommend, they were wonderful!
Cheryl Sailer
We had an excellent experience at this hospital. We were traveling away from home and needed emergency help for our dog and they were very caring and professional. We were given an estimate of costs up front so no surprises. They were quick to get records from our home vet and they gave us clear instructions on what to do. The facility was very clean. We were very grateful to be able to get the needed help for our dog.
Darlene Funk
I had a very sick puppy that needed emergency care. They were all professional and knowledgeable and compassionate with animals. I will recommend this hospital as often as I can to those needing vet services
Rebecca Walker
He still has some issues but overall appears close to baseline. I appreciated the thorough exam and testing. Oz has had similar issues in the past with minimal workup and limited answers. Dr. Jong did a thorough workup and provided some common sense answers to what appears to be a chronic problem.
Dennis “Kasia” Uhrmacher
This place is amazing. The people all very obviously care. The vets were all super knowledgable and professional, and we dealt with three of them. Peaches may not have been able to be saved, but that is through no fault of their own. I know they would have found a way to move Heaven and Earth if it meant saving her. I could tell it shook them too, as some were trying their best not to break down.
Take your animals here when they are sick. You will not regret it.
There are people complaining about the cost in other reviews. It is not the fault of this place. It is the fault of a broken health care system that charges crazy amounts for medical supplies that they need to have in order to operate. We need to fix this system and then costs will start to go down, and that is something far beyond the control of the vets here. I could tell that they would rather give away all the services for free if it were at all possible.
Carrie Larson
Over the last year and a half I have needed to bring my FurBaby in twice. Everyone has been absolutely great. Their communication, explanation of his issues and what my options are have been very clear and laid out. Super friendly staff and the DVM's are amazing and really care about your pets. And I absolutely LOVE the pics they send to show how he is doing 😻😻😻
Amanda Calsbeek
No one ever wants to use an emergency vet. But everyone I interacted with were wonderful. Treatment and follow-up care were well explained. Communication was great.
Erika Annette
I came home and my cat was not breathing well at all - I'm talking she couldn't even move. So I called and they said to bring her in immediately. They took her the second I walked in and explained to me that I had to pay upfront - just like any emergency service - and that I would be refunded any money that they did not use. They just have to make sure they can cover their own costs. Totally understandable, but not cheap.
The environment is very calming for a distressed pet owner, and all the staff are so friendly and don't judge you for being a crying wreck in their lobby. Dr. Eric Kaufman came out periodically and told me what they were doing to my kitty and how she was and was SO comforting. And I was a wreck, so props to him. Then after some xrays, he took me back to an exam room and explained everything to me point blank and actually, he offered explanations to problems she's been having for over a year that I just thought were behaviors. He emailed me some information about my cat's condition and made sure that I understood what was happening with her. He kept her a few hours for observation and in the oxygen kennel, but let me see her before I left.
I honestly could not have gone anywhere better than here and I am so thankful to all the staff that was working tonight. They were so calm and professional through everything.
Olivia Fischer
Red River was quick and efficient with a diagnosis so that treatment could be started ASAP. They showed concern for every single health concern I mentioned and explained in detail what our treatment options were. My pet was in and out of there within a few hours, I really appreciated the urgency to help him out!
James Baker
We had to let go of our friend Max Rubin today. The staff and doctor were confident and kind. Very helpful in this hard day of letting go of our friend. I would recommend this place to anyone with an emergency animal issue.
Goodbye little buddy!
Erica M
I had to euthanize my beloved dog due to complications from cancer at a time of day when his regular vet was not open. I brought him and my other dog here (so she could witness his passing as she was very attached to him). They brought us all straight back to a very nice comforting room with a fireplace and 2 couches. From there the staff helped me fill out the appropriate paperwork and let me pay at that time so I wouldn’t have to hang around after.
They gave me all the time I needed before and after the euthanasia to be alone with my dog.
They placed a catheter and let me hold him in my lap while the vet administered the drugs. It was very peaceful.
They gave me a clay paw print and will be mailing a paper one.
I am extremely pleased with the service they provided me through such an emotional event.

Mac is the best employee ive ever come across hands down! Due to covid i couldnt be in the building and was terrified for my furbaby so Mac called me multiple times about everything to keep me sane.He was so understanding , compassionate and personable! He was an amazing problem solver aswell, after calling multiple emergency vets to get help with a bad tooth i ended up doing the 4 hr drive to come here because he was the only one with a plan to help instead of just giving him pain meds! Awesome guy!

Our regular vet was closed today since it’s the weekend so we followed their prompt to call this 24 hr facility for help. We knew our beloved dog was near the end of his life and we wanted to make sure he went comfortably. They were incredibly sensitive to us while we were a blubbering mess. They brought us into a comfortable room, allowed us to be with our dog as long as we wanted before, during and after he passed away. They treated him with great respect which made the experience as wonderful as possible considering how heartbreaking it was. We chose to bring him home for burial & they released him in a nice container suitable for transportation. Thank you all. You made the difference. With much appreciation, Diggers family

So thankful for the staff here. Always friendly and very informative. Highly recommend for any pet parent!
Brenda Barfield
I have needed to use RRAE several times (I have 3 little dogs) They have always been very caring and awesome staff
Chelsey Sirek
Brought our 3.5 year old mixed Lab in because he had a cut in his right front arm pit area, we live 2 hours away but this was the only place we could get in on a Saturday. Dropped him off around 12 pm, he was seen around 2 pm because like any “hospital” like thing, it’s critical cases come first, the Vet called me himself and explained what could happen during his procedure and the possibility of what the bill could cost worst case scenario to give us a heads up. Thankfully, his procedure went great, and our pup was very lucky as he was impaled by a stick and had a wound 2 inches into him! They got him sedated, sutured, and on antibiotics and pain meds for a week. We are so thankful they helped us in a pinch! Our total bill for 6 hours of care, vitals, sedation, stitches, and 4 meds was just under $600. I didn’t think the price was bad considering it was an emergency. The vet and staff were all very nice as well!

My dog was injured this weekend. I was on vacation and the closest Emergency Vet was an hour away. That happened to be Red River Animal Emergency Hospital. I could not have asked for better care for my dog, Dak. Covid restrictions meant I couldn't go in with him but they did a great job of updating me and on communicating his treatment plan with me. He actually had to go twice in one weekend (through no fault of Red River but just due to the nature of his injury). Each and every person was kind and wonderful. They were so willing to put my worries at ease and answer any follow-up questions after we left. They were also reasonably priced for an emergency vet. I would never ever hesitate to take another animal here or recommend this vet. Thank you for all you did for Dak and I. You made a really difficult situation much more bearable than it would have been with a vet that was not as extraordinary as you all.
Paul Wasik
We brought our dog in for an overdose of chololate on a Sunday afternoon.
The staff was very professional and accomodating. The treating vet was extremely helpful and communicated well. Our dog recovered and is doing nicely. I would highly recommend this animal hospital.
Cami Lee
Our dog needed stitches after hours. The staff kept us updated and informed as the night progressed. Happy with the service.
Meagan Cogsdell
Had a great experience with this vet! Had to bring my cat here from Grand Forks in the middle of the night and all of the staff were amazing to my cat, she was very sick and aggressive and they helped as much as they could and now she’s on the road to getting better! They explained everything in detail and were more than willing to help. The only downside was I had to wait a while for her meds but they had more animals come in so that is to be expected. They even emailed me her vet records and everything they found while she was there. I am so happy with my experience and have a peace of mind knowing she’s going to start feeling better. Thanks to the amazing staff at this animal hospital for helping Harley!

I am so very, very, very happy Red River Animal Emergency was there for me and my Husky! About a month and a half ago I noticed a lump on my Huskys snout on a Monday morning and seriously panicked. I called all the local vets only to hear one after another was booked out for a month or more. I decided to call the Red River Emergency as a last resort as I was scared they would put him under the knife.
After dropping him off because of Covid rules I no sooner got a call from them asking some simple questions. Shortly after the Vet Doctor called me and in short I remember shaking so bad I thought I would drop my phone since my Husky means the universe to me.
The Vet Doctor wasn't exactly sure how he got the lump or what caused it or if it was a tumor for sure,, but told me that "if it was his dog" he would just keep a close eye on it and give him antibiotics. He said the only way to know what it was, was to make an incision or extract from it. But again he said "if it was his dog" he wouldn't just cut into it.
I decided to take his advice and not have my beautiful babies face cut in too because of panic.
The lump on my babies face is almost completely gone now and I am so very thankful to the Vet Doctor for being so very honest, I wish I could give him a hundred stars!
My Husky was prescribed antibiotics, pain killers and a cone of shame which my Husky never had to wear thankfully.
I sincerely with all my heart "Thank You" for helping my child get better. XOXO.
Amy McConnell
Our dog has passed while on the way to this vet so they didn’t provide any medical care, but the atmosphere they provided for grieving was much better than our regular vet. A nice room with a couch, fireplace, tissues, etc. They gave us a clay impression of his foot & mail us ink prints. It was a sad experience but they handled everything so well.
Megan Bartholomay
Very attentive staff, great follow through, wish I would have had follow up from them to see how our cat was doing as I wasn’t sure if we should recheck with them or our regular vet. They are expensive, but the 24/7 option is amazing.
Renae Hansen
The staff treated my dog with the best care possible. They did a great job of keeping us informed of his status as well. He would not have survived if it were not for the hard work of everyone at the clinic. Yes, it was expensive (like any emergency service) but worth it for us to save our pup!
Amanda Heley
Knowledgeable understanding staff. They were very professional in understanding my concerns and putting up with me checking in. While I didn’t like the 6 hour wait, I understand that this is an ER and those animals that need care the most get it first. I am so glad to have this in Fargo. My Bernie could not have waited until Monday to see a vet. So thank you.

We recently had our 8 year old chocolate lab here for some treatment on 2 separate occasions. Both visits were met with professionalism, compassion, and great knowledge. After our second visit, we were referred to Minneapolis for an MRI for our girl, Mikko. Dr. Baasch immediately contacted the Minneapolis specialty staff and provided them with the necessary information while we transported her. Unfortunately we did not receive positive news, as Dr. Baasch’s diagnosis was correct, and Mikko did in fact have a brain tumor. Both visits with Dr, Jong and Dr. Bassch were positive and we are ever grateful for their compassionate care to Mikko when she was extremely sick.
While wait times can be quite significant, it is well worth the visit when warranted.

I brought my dog in for a knee injury, and they were very straightforward and honest about it. They didn't try and run unnecessary tests, were knowledge, and only prescribed pain meds for a sprain. When your pet is injured you're willing to pay whatever it takes, but they didn't try and take advantage of that which I very much appreciate.

They took the BEST care of our fur babe that needed an emergency splenectomy. They were very honest(and sympathetic) about possible outcomes, walked us through everything step-by-step, and did every little thing to show they really cared about our pup. They are not only very attentive to the animals needs, but also to making sure the owners are comfortable with their pet being there. We couldn’t be any happier with this place!!

I will never be able to thank you all enough for not only caring for and treating our Izzy, but for going above and beyond keeping her comfortable and loved while she was hospitalized. The updates sent helped us stay confident in the care Izzy was receiving. Dr. Wigglesworth was absolutely amazing. She answered all of my million questions regarding caring for Izzy with her newly diagnosed Addison's disease so calmly and clearly. She also went above and beyond and did research on options to help Izzy with her allergies as well. The staff, especially Sierra and Nicole supported me so much and helped me stay calm during such a scary time. We cannot tell you all enough how amazing you ALL are!!!
Gloria Doescher
The staff are amazing . They get how important your dog or cat is to your family. They are respectful and calm and empathic. They explain updates and results in terms you understand.

Nobody wants to be in a place where you need to take your pet in to the emergency vet, but I am so thankful for this service. I’ve been in twice now in the past year. The first time I found out my cat had an intestinal blockage. Our vet, Dr. Kuklock, explained the results, the recommended treatment, and provided an estimate of all services. It was expensive but we were provided with payment options (care credit). I was able to schedule my cat for surgery the next morning with Casselton. Dr kuklock sent all the records to our vet and provided my cat with meds to ease her pain and symptoms for the night. Thanks to this I was able to spend one more night with my baby and utilize a cheaper option the next day. And then just this week I was back with my other cat for poisoning. The staff here responded quickly and provided us with the treatment recommendation and estimate within 20 minutes. Thanks to their quick response my cat received immediate care and is now home heathy. During my cats stay the vet and techs provided us with phone and text updates. When I called for info they were great about responding and answering all my questions. When we discharged we even got a refund as the estimate was higher than the actual services provided. I was in such a state I had forgotten to even ask for the invoice to show actual charges against the estimate. I fee that this demonstrates the integrity of this facility.
I see many people complain about the cost but this is an emergency center that is staffed 24/7. I am beyond grateful we have this available in Fargo. I’ve experienced nothing but staging forward yet compassionate care.

This place is amazing at diagnosing and treating your pet... When it's there anyways. Once your pet leaves and they say "if you have questions feel free to call back any time". You can call but dont ever expect to get a call back from a doctor to answer your questions. MAYBE you will get a technician to call you back but they just try and get you off the phone as soon as possible. It seems like they only acknowledge your pet as a patient if they are actually in the building. My pup personally has a disease that they themselves told me would be months before he's out of the woods and that's on the short end. And they knew I would need to keep calling for questions and medicine refills or dosage changes... I've called 3-5 times trying to speak with a doctor and every. Single. Time. I've gotten " the doctor is very busy but they will call you back" not ONCE has that happened yet. So yes if your animal is in the hospital it gets gold standard care, but once it leaves you are basically on your own.

My cat’s eye was fine when my husband left for work at 4 am. I noticed a small bit of wet discharge at 8 am and thought nothing of it but there was quite a bit by 4 pm and his eye started swelling by 8 pm. I called this vet because my usual vet was closed by then and they said I should get him seen ASAP or call my usual vet to set up an appointment in the morning. We decided to take him in and they got him checked in and seen in about 15 min. The initial exam took about 20 and I went home with him about 25 minutes later with medication and supplies for treatment for $220 total. I would bring my pets here again Incase of an emergency everyone was very nice and kind even amid all the safety and quarantine precautions.

They were fast, friendly, caring, and very efficient. The follow up was very appreciated and they did not charge me because he really got over it on his own.

Amazing place with amazing staff. Forever grateful for each and every one of you ❤️

I brought my chinchilla here to receive help after he had chewed through his sutures that had been put in place the day prior. They took him back right away. His regular vet (who I had contacted on my way to the emergency hospital) called and spoke with the doctor on duty. Even though they do not regularly work with chinchillas, she was willing to perform the surgery necessary to fix the damage. Due to the high risk of infection, the inability to 100% prevent him from from chewing on the sutures again, and the fact that his appetite was not improving (he had fatty liver disease), we opted to euthanize. It was an agonizing decision to make, but the staff was so nice and made the experience as easy on me as possible.
For those complaining about the cost, it is an EMERGENCY clinic. These people are there 24/7 to help animals that are not able to get in to see their regular vet. They deal with high stress situations and do everything they can to ensure that your pet either gets the help they need, or is put out of their suffering. I am so thankful that they were there for my little guy so he didn't have to suffer for a minute longer than necessary. It was well worth every dime we spent there.

These people are amazing. They saved my dogs life !! Very competent care and I can not thank them enough. I carried a limp 80 pound dog in there, and four days later he walked out healthy. I am forever grateful for this great staff who treated us with compassion and reassurance that they would do everything for Milo that they could. This is definately the place to bring a very sick dog.

On Oct 18th, my beloved James was having trouble breathing so I brought him here. In less than 24 hours he was in respiratory failure, and I had to let him go. Yes, the services cost a lot, but I was given an estimate, which I accepted and paid up front. Just like when I have been to an ER for myself or my son, it costs quite a bit more for care than a doctor's office visit. So I was not shocked. In the end, the estimate was high, and I was refunded several hundred dollars. While I had moments of anxiety and frustration while waiting for answers (I even lashed out at some front desk staff... Sorry!), in the end I feel like my James got the best care possible.
** As an aside, when leaving him at midnight, I was let in back to say goodnight. He was in the ICU and in an oxygen cage. Looking around, I was extremely impressed by the large staff caring for many critically ill animals and Drs performing emergency procedures at this time of night.**
The process of letting James go was both thoughtful and humane. The doctor explained the process and what to expect. They gave us a room that was like a mini living room, where I was able to bring my other dog in so we could all say goodbye. We were given as much time before and after as we wanted. I used their offer to take care of the cremation and requested the return of his cremains, as well as a paw print picture and a paw print cast. I just picked up his cremains and paw prints today. They were lovingly packaged. I am grateful for everything RRAEH did for us.

Very nice and clean facility. Friendly service. Had to bring our pup in for ER service. He was very well taken care of.

We had to put our old kitty down. It was a very tough day. The clinic staff made us feel welcome. They were thoughtful, caring and sensitive. They made sure our kitty and we felt comfortable with the entire process. The kindness and care that we received filled our hearts with warmth. They also sent us the nicest sympathy card afterwards. Thank you to everyone who helped us.

Great place to take your sick or injured pets. The staff are very nice and you can tell they love animals. The service is prompt and their caring attitude is so appreciated when you are worried and upset about your pet.
Mandy Erickson
Dr. Kramer was great. Communication and stayus updates were great.
Tia
My experience here was fantastic. The receptionist was very patient, kind, understanding, and above all very very helpful. The doctor went the extra mile and let me pay cash the next day after treatment, instead of before they would even start treatment. I was extremely grateful for that!! The care and concern they showed me and my baby Toes was fantastic!! Even though they are extremely expensive it was worth it!!
Julie Esterby
Wonderful place. Haven’t been here since they moved into the new location. Very friendly staff. Thanks so much for taking good care of Moka.
My second trip there with Moka, August 26, 2022. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful place in Fargo for emergencies. Everyone is very warming and kind. Thanks so much for everything you do for the love of pets. ❤️
Heather Whelan
Very helpful and friendly staff. Even though they are quite a drive from where we live in. Northern Minnesota it was worth it to know our dog was going to be alright again. I highly recommend them if you ever need an emergency veterinarian clinic .
Megan
My mom has to surrender her dog here because she couldn’t afford the surgeries for him. She was heartbroken by this but took the opportunity to give him a chance at living a long life rather than euthanizing. She said the doctor that worked with her was amazing and empathetic and though she won’t get to know what happens to her dog next, she’s happy that this place was willing to eat the cost of the procedures to take care of her dog and valued his life as much as she did.
To those who have also endured these circumstances and feel negatively about the clinic, please know their options are limited when it comes to financial situations. It sucks but the people who work here truly do seem to care about you and your pet and will do everything they can to help you.
I think it’s also worth noting that pets are expensive, and good pet owners need to be ready to pay for emergency services in an event that they need them. Having money set aside for this purpose will go a long way in assuring peace of mind when it comes to these things.
I’m so thankful that we have a 24/7 vet clinic in our area so that our pets can receive services when our regular vets are unable to.
Christopher Pearey
I can not, and I mean absolutely can not put into words how grateful I am to this place for what they have done for my dogs!! They are so kind and friendly, but beyond that have always give excellent and amazing care to my dogs!!! We are blessed to have this facility in Fargo, and from the bottom of my heart can’t thank you for the care you gave my girls!! This little review is not even close to what you guys deserve!!! Thank you so much!!
Nancy Hebert
RedRiver Emergency Hospital is a blessing to our community. So grateful for the 24/7 service. It means so much as a pug mom!!
Freyja petteway
These people are amazing! They gave me text updates with pictures and stayed in such great contact with me! They even worked with me on the budget I had. You never want an emergency with your pet, but if you ever have one please take them here ❤️
Rage “Gimpy Geeky Vet”
They saved my buddy that I cant live without. They are well worth everything spent to save my dogs life. He was with them for 4 days. I got picture updates by text and a phone call every morning to discuss how he was doing. Even after he'd been home for a while if I had a question that needed answered they did their best to help. Ghost and I thank you.
Cody Landman
We brought our small chihuahua there at midnight after being concerned of the pain he appeared to be in, we’d heard that there was a huge cost for an examination fee and people weren’t happy about it. This is NOT the case. The doctors and the staff there are extremely friendly and work the best they can to see your pet as soon as possible. They do very thorough exams and can tell you what is wrong. As far as fees, there is NOTHING to worry about on that front. Any fees you pay is just as much, if not less than you would get charged at any vet. This is even a better experience we’ve had than if we’d gone to our vet. It’s so good to know we have a place like this in Fargo to bring our beloved pets in case of emergencies and big concerns and know they’re in good hands. Do not believe any negativity you hear about this place. They care about the animals just as much as you do.
Bananana God
This facility is awesome filled with the most loving and caring people ever! So glad our puppy was in their hands when he didn’t feel good!
Amy Cox
We took our bichon there for emergency treatment not realizing how critically ill he was. Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to put him to sleep but the staff and Dr. Ben Stegman were nothing short of incredible. I am a health care professional myself and I cannot say enough good about the care we received at Red River animal emergency hospital. Their compassion and understanding in a very stressful and difficult situation was the best I have ever seen. They have inspired me to make sure that I strive to deliver that kind of care to my human patients as well.
Kristi Wohlwend
Everyone was really nice and I liked the communication I got from staff and the care that my kitty received. I was able to leave knowing my cat was safe and in good hands.

Our beloved 13-year-old dog, Maggie, had significantly declined in health over the last several weeks, became very weak, etc. We made the very difficult decision to put her down and brought her to the Red River Animal Clinic. I can't thank the staff enough for the compassion and empathy that was displayed and that we felt. They took excellent care of us and Maggie. A very emotional and difficult experience was handled in the most professional and dignified way by all the staff. Thank you RRAEC!!
Rachel Mynatt
All I have to say is thank you. I was in a state of panic and on the verge of a panic attack when my kitten got into some lillies I had. I called and the receptionist was very calm and kept me calm. I got there and yes you have to pay 109 upfront, but isn't your pet worth it? After everything was said and done and the vet came and spoke to me I felt a sense of relief. With getting her there right away and giving her a bath the vet was optimistic that she was going to be ok. Like I said I know it's expensive but they offer a credit card you can apply for and if you get declined they have a payment plan you can do. They're very flexible and willing to work with you. Thank you guys so much for keeping me calm and taking such good care of my baby.
Ben Sailer
The staff at the Red River Animal Emergency Hospital were gracious and took excellent care of our dog when I needed to bring her in for an immediate early-morning emergency. They explained the situation calmly and clearly, were easy to work with, and provided us with peace of mind when we learned our dog's issue wasn't a cause for concern. I would recommend taking your pet here.

The staff at this animal hospital are miracle workers who saved our dogs life. Here is our story. The early morning of June 19, 2020 we woke to our beloved dog Scraps vomiting his dinner from the night before, followed by more vomiting of a mucousy blood. We immediately called our veterinarian in Sisseston, SD, who told us to take Scraps immediately to the Red River Animal Emergency Hospital in Fargo. I called RRAEH as we drove frantically up to Fargo to let them know we were on the way. Scraps continued to vomit mass amounts of blood as we raced at 90 MPH on Interstate 29. When we arrived at 9:00 a.m. they were waiting for us and took Scraps immediately to triage. Dr. Kramer was fantastic. He called us about 1-1/2 hours later with the diagnosis of HGE, or hemoragic gastro enteritis. He explained the situation and what IV's he had started and how he was going to proceed. He also told us there would need to be an initial deposit and transferred us to accounting. The estimate was $1,848, which we paid with a card over the phone with the accountant.
(We are very familiar with emergency room deposit prcedures and costs, as we have rescued and provided for many serious medical procedures on animals over the years. However, we are recent transplants from San Antonio, Texas and were surprised how LOW the estimate was. ) Scraps vomited a tremendous amount of blood during that 90 minute drive to Fargo and we were hoping and praying for the best, but bracing ourselves for the worse. But Dr. Kramer knew exactly how to aggressively treat and heal Scraps. By mid-Friday we had received a call from Sarah, the technician caring for Scraps, to give us a thorough update on his condition -- and the news was music to our ears. Scraps was out of the woods and going to make a recovery. Later that evening we received a follow-up text with a picture of Scraps. Again, early Saturday morning we received another text and picture of our precious boy. I spoke with Nicole, the tech who was now in charge of Scrap's care, who told me that Scraps had a wonderful night, he was eating, he was up and walking, and there had been no more vomiting in the night. I spoke with Nicole a few hours later and she told me the doctor was very pleased with Scrap's recovery and condition and they were going to take him off IV's and see how he tolerated oral medications. If all went well we could take him home that afternoon. I received a text and photo of Scraps a few hours later with these words: "I spoke with Dr. Carver and he is happy with Scraps progress overnight. He will be ready for discharge at 1:00 p.m... Scraps can't wait to go home today! " IN APPROXIMATELY 24 HOURS Scraps went from what I would say was being on death's door to a full recovery! And then to top it all off, I was told that RRAEH OWED ME a refund of $195! This would have never happened at the VCA animal hospitals I have frequented in San Antonio.
I want to thank Dr. Kramer, Dr. Griepp, Dr. Carver, Sarah and Nicole and any other of the wonderful staff who took part in the care and recovery of Scraps! I think this hospital is fantastic and the staff are amazing. And for any of the prior customers of RRAEH who have posted complaints of charges, take it from me that the charges were amazingly reasonable. I strongly believe our bill in San Antonio would have been a minimum of $2,500 based on my many previous experiences with animals in need of emergency care -- a great contrast to the $1,600 I was charged. Thank you again to all of you at RRAEH! You are truly wonderful. -- Sincerely, Jill Beumer
Christina Rust
Very helpful when I called and friendly when we arrived. Kept us updated. Constant communication about our pet. This was our first time needing their service and they exceeded our expectations. Thank you!
Jen Johnshoy
We had to bring our Emma here for a full organ abdominal ultrasound, as our regular vet didn't have the capabilities of doing one. The staff were very friendly, and were great with her when she was so sick. They answered all of our questions thoroughly (even when the answers weren't what we wanted to hear.) I would highly recommend bringing your fur babies here.❤🐾
Marcy Salvatore
Last week we had to make the tough decision to put our black lab down. From the moment we walked into the clinic until the time we left we were treated with respect and compassion. Thanks to Dr. Kaufman for taking the time to explain everything and making us feel better about the decision we made. Thanks for letting us spend as much time with Murphy as we needed and giving us the peace of mind to know that she was to be taken good care of afterwards. Thanks to the whole staff for what you do for our 4 legged family members.
Robert Doody
I am very happy with how my dog and I were treated and always having my questions answered
Shawndelle Hestenes
While I feel that their "walk-in" fee is a bit high since they're already open 24/7... I really appreciated that they took me seriously and listened to my concerns. Turned out I was right and my kitten really needed help! They got her feeling so much better and she's back to climbing the curtains at our house again 🙄 haha. I definitely recommend this place for an emergency. They also accept creditcare.
Rajahna Schneekloth
Very friendly and helpful staff. Always very prompt with answering the phone and answering questions. Staff provide great communication on our pet's care during the visit, as well as explain how/what to do post-visit.
Cara Zastrow
The staff and vet were so sweet to our new puppy! They were very helpful and gave us step by step direction on how to proceed after our visit. Highly recommend the Red River Valley Animal Hospital staff to anyone in the area!
Kimberly Chapman
I had to bring my puppy in for an illness. I drove an hour and a half one way in the middle of the night to get there since that was the closest emergency clinic. The entire staff on duty was completely amazing. They gave her fluids to prevent further dehydration and explained everything very thoroughly. Not only that, but they told me it was better to bring her in just to be safe and never once made me feel like a bad puppy mom. At the end of the trip I wasn't even mad that I had another hour and a half drive home! If I had to go there again (which under the circumstances of going) I hope I don't, but if I did I wouldn't hesitate for one second bringing my puppy there.
Ashley Stone
Wonderful friendly, caring staff. Fast help with my pets in an emergency. I feel relief and trust them with the care provided. I wish the fees were less. Very expensive.
Jane C
Excellent veterinary hospital. Accepts patients who have experienced trauma or are very sick.
My best friend passed here and they were really wonderful with her and with helping my family deal with the grief.
Linda Haecherl
They were so great with my Daisy, who is a very fiesty little girl! Daisy was attacked by another dog while we were on a walk. She bit the vet, but this wonderful vet, continued to take care of her!! New to Fargo....and so appreciated their care in this hard time of Covid! Thank you so much for taking care of My Daisy!! I so appreciated everything you did! Thank you!!
Seth Erickson
The staff is caring, prompt, and project confidence. Quality care.
Stephanie Cooper
I am blown away with this facility. My poor fur baby got really sick and had to stay there for a few days and they are so helpful. They gave me multiple updates via text and phone call and even sent pictures to update me. They explained everything in a way that I could understand and were extremely understanding. I absolutely LOVE this facility for emergencies, thank you so much for saving my baby
Katrina Nordine
The staff was amazing and even though they don't usually do exotic pets, I was extremely thankful they took a look at my hamster! Very friendly and very welcoming.
Peyton Jaxxon
Awesome staff, awesome service 👍 They truly love animals there😍 …

We recently needed the services of RRAEH for our elderly dog who needed to be put down. We had our beloved dog since he was a puppy and the staff made us feel like we were at home and made sure we were all comfortable during the process. Amazing staff and very caring and comforting.
Annie Behm
My cat was put to sleep the other day and the staff was very caring, efficient, and patient. They made one of our hardest days as easy as possible
Susan Wee
We greatly appreciated the terrific staff. Everyone was compassionate and helpful. We felt our pet was in good hands - and she was!

We brought our cat here due to her having some pain and vomiting. After her examination, we were told she had something stuck in her intestine that was causing a lot of pain/vomiting. Dr.Jong did an AMAZING job following up with us and making sure all of our questions were answered. Our cat had to go into surgery and was performed by Dr. Jong and she did a great job! She even sent pictures of what was stuck in our cats intestine which was a relief. We were so worried about our cat the whole time but Dr.Jong met all of our expectations and made us feel at ease. Thanks Dr.Jong for taking care of Lucy! This company needs to give Dr. Jong a raise!!!
Hannah Hill
I really wish there was an exotic vet, guinea pigs are so complicated medically. I appreciate being taken seriously and getting the medications I ask for.
Laura Bruns
Unfortunately, I had to take my dog here for a terrifying situation. The veterinarian was WONDERFUL. So helpful and honest. He did a great job explaining the situation to me, and didn't judge any of my choices. I have never experienced such kindness and hospitality from a vet before. I will gladly bring my dog back should the situation arise.
Leah Whitcomb
Great place! They really make sure you understand the level of care your animal is receiving and why.
Danelle Olson
A bit pricey, but they treated my boy with love n caring concerns, Great place
Taylor Morgan
This place is a great emergency clinic. The facility was clean and a calming atmosphere for distressed owners and pets. We took our husky there late at night with a traumatic neck injury and all of the staff were extremely sympathetic, calm, understanding, and yet completely professional. Although our pup didn't make it, they did everything in their power and were honest about the situation.
Kaleb Morrow-Simmons
Obviously I was not excited about the bill.. however they are not running charity, so be aware emergency service is expensive. Other than that they did an amazing job making my german sheppard feel comfortable during the pandemic! (she hates vets even when I am allowed to go with her)
Mikal Liebswager
Had to put my cat down recently after a lengthy sickness and I was really impressed with the experience. Their new location is wonderful....clean and spacious... they even had a wonderful quiet room for us to say our goodbyes in. (comfy chairs, music, treats, and a fireplace.) I was so sure it would be very clinical and impersonal because it was an emergency clinic but everyone was very nice and understanding even with all my blubbering. While I hope you never have to go through it I'd like to think it couldn't have been done in a more caring and non judgmental place. They also made it clear that there was no rush which helped a lot. I can't express how grateful I am to have all that in that awful moment. Thank you to everyone at RRAEH!
Charlene Welstad
Fantastic service. Was a little confused about the bill statement but eventually figured it out. I do not think this facility charges too much for what they do. My dog had an accident and emergency care and surgery was required. If I was too take a human to the er for the same accident and procedure I would have to pay 10 times or more after insurance pays. Thank you for your service
Jill Kingsly
Always a good experience despite the circumstances. Always compassionate and provide detailed and consistent information. The compassion shown by staff
Michelle Ihry
It was a great experience. We got Beau, our cat, in quickly and the communication was top notch. Dr Kuklok was very empathetic .
Lisa Benusa
The Vet Dr’s are the best! Very knowledgeable, and care about your pet like the family member that they are. I highly recommend them for emergencies or issues that are not easily resolved.
Sarah Tron
Have only ever received top-notch care when I've had to bring my animals here! The staff is kind, compassionate, and sympathetic to a frantic and worried owner. Yes, you must pay for at least the exam up-front, but think about it-at your regular vet clinic you must pay your bill before you can leave with your pet. I'm sure in the past less-caring people have taken their pets in for emergency treatment and then walked out on the bill.
Andrew Guadalupe
It's an emergency hospital, expect to pay double for convenience.
My dog eats 6 cups of food a day, and weighed in at 88lbs on 6/19 at a different facility. Took him to red river 6/26 and he weighed in at 80.7. He dropped to 4 cups a day on the 24/25. I'm not worried about rapid weight loss, as was suggested, I'm concerned I brought my dog to a place that overcharged with bad equipment that's going to throw his medication off.
