Yesterday was a tragic day for us. Our cat was hit by a car most likely. We struggled to find someplace to get him in as he was alive still and in great pain from a compound leg fracture and more. No place in Marietta could get him in. We called Valley West. They listened and heard how distraught we were. They made time. We drove an hour and twenty minutes there. They got us right in, checked him but the prognosis was bad. We had to let our poor Widget go. They were so sensitive and kind. We can't thank them enough. I trust them to care.

I appreciate ALL of the Vets at Valley West! My mother in law and I have always taken our dogs and cats to Dr Isaac and I absolutely love Amy Isaac. Recently we had to put down my once little pup that's been with us for 13 years, because of a cancerous tumor on his leg. We are devastated by our lose of Ruckus but couldnt imagine a better group of loving caring sympathetic vets and assistants to go through it with us. Thank you guys once again! I hope everyone here knows how appreciated they are! I've been using valley west for the past few years. The staff are wonderful and the vets are the kindest amd everything you'd want in a doctor. Even during COVID vet cane outside just to talk to my daughter and I to make sure we understood everything. Recently was told my cat zuri would have to have her eye removed. Contacted Valkey who got her right in. They re examined her gave us the progonis which wasn't good but said wouldn't be able to do the surgery until next week so let's try to save it. communicated very well about the how what's and why's. Made sure my daughter understood everything. After aggressive treatment it appears she'll keep her eye. However they have always been honest and we know it may have to be removed I know they have gone above and beyond just like they always have.

Valley West welcomed me and my dog with welcome arms for an emergency visit. We didn’t wait long at all before being seen, they were so kind and patient with her because she is reactive. They explained everything for me to understand. Their patient care and bedside manners both get a 10/10 from us!! I highly recommend them, especially in an emergency.

They are excellent and you can see they really have a love for animals and not for a bad price either. Most definitely recommend if you are in the area to provide pet care. Our dog Journey has been sick for several months now after a Lyme disease diagnosis that led to fighting IMTP. Dr. Amy Isaac and all of the wonderful staff have taken incredible care of us through every crazy turn Journey has taken us on through treatment. I have NEVER had an issue getting in quickly (typically same day) as soon as I call and tell them Journey’s not feeling well or has another fever. Her treatment has been an absolute roller coaster and I could not imagine having gone through this with anyone else! Truly awesome and caring staff.

When my cat passed they sent me a sympathy card signed by all the staff offering their condolences. We hadn't even really become a patient yet as our first appointment was actually for the day before he passed. It didn't matter to them, they knew I was heartbroken and sent the card. I can never truly say how much I appreciate that.

Valley West treated my puppy for two days after he ate a Tide Pod. I think they did everything and more to keep him here with us. He is now growing healthy, and eating alot less Tide Pods. We are very grateful for their excellent service.

Growing up this is the only place my parents took our family pets. They have always been great. This past week my Flemish Giant Rabbit became ill very suddenly and his normal vet wouldn’t see him urgently. Valley West stepped up and got me in within minutes of calling. They couldn’t do much to help us because they don’t care for rabbits but they tried and did all they could for him. They stepped up when his vet wouldn’t. I can’t say thank you enough to Valley West!

The care here is great from the front desk to the vet and techs. Very compassionate staff and treated my dying dog like she was theirs. And the vet doctor did not ask a test to do the diagnostic. Also allowed me to transfer the records from other vet. I'm always at ease knowing my pets will be taken great care of when I bring them in. I will be always grateful how they treat us when they had to put asleep our beloved 10 year old dog with a a brain tumor. Best VET clinic in WV!

I highly recommend Valley West Veterinary Hospital. I recently switched here from another vet, and Valley West's facility is much bigger and nicer than my previous vet’s office. Everyone that works here is kind and professional, and Dr. Amy Isaac is very knowledgeable and she’s great with my two cats. The vet techs and Dr. Isaac always treat my cats like they are their own - they allow them to explore the room and get used to their surroundings so they aren't as stressed, and they are patient and kind to them during their exams. I won't ever take my fur-babies anywhere else but Valley West.

I boarded my 16 year old diabetic cat at Valley West for 2 weeks while on a trip to the Western US. Unfortunately he became sick and passed away. The Doctors and staff did their very best to treat his illness and keep me informed as to what was happening. I will be forever grateful to them. I regret that I couldn't get home to be with him and that my cell phone connectivity was not good. It was his time to go and I'm glad he was with such caring people.

I've been going to another vet in town for around 6 years. I wish I had found valley west sooner. We are traveling and needed documentation. Our normal vet misscheduled us and called me the day before our appointment to tell me they couldn't see us. Valley west was so kind to fit us in and see Dr. Issac. He was so gentle with our kitty. He gave lots of useful suggestions and it made our trip 1,000% better. The assistants and staff were so nice and treated us like we were family. As a bonus our vet bill was $100 cheaper than what I would normally pay with my old vet. If your looking for a vet, I really don't see why you wouldn't go to valley west for care.

I have not been here yet but was recommended by a neighbor. I called for a quote for my dog who will need surgery on her knee. They were able to give me a ball park figure and said they could do the surgery where a lot of other vets were trying to push me to go to OH to get it done when I want to stay local for various reasons. They were very professional and courteous when answering all my questions. I will definitely be selecting them for my puppy's procedure in the near future.

I have to admit, we've only been customers there for about a year. But for everything I've had to take my dogs in for, the entire staff has been phenomenal. Always kind, always willing to work with me, always considerate of my dogs, always ready to help and get them better. I feel safe taking my pets here. I trust them. My sweet Ava passed away back in November 2020 and they were just absolutely outstanding with her previous care and really made a point to check up on her and see how she was feeling before she passed. The care here is great. I'm always at ease knowing my pets will be taken great care of when I bring them in. Even when there's nothing more they can do, they show love and compassion.

I am BLOWN AWAY by how amazing our experience was at this vet hospital today. We live in Florida but have been visiting family in Charleston for Thanksgiving and our dog got very sick all of a sudden. We called at 7:30am to see if our dog could be seen (the day before Thanksgiving!!!!) and they were able to fit us in same day at 9:30am. The check in process was seamless, the vet tech was SO NICE, and the DVM Thomas Isaac was AMAZING with our dog. I wish we lived here the experience was so great! Also the cost is SO LOW - wow, I have never seen a vet bill this inexpensive. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

My dog had eaten a piece of a dog toy and got very sick I was unable to get into an emergency vet due to a high volume of customers. I called my regular vet and vet offices up to an hour away and they couldn't get me in. Finally I called Valley West as a last hope. They were very helpful and were able to fit me in the same day even though I am not a regular client. The vet and vet tech were extremely nice and the cost even with an emergency visit fee was low. They helped my dog in a timely manner and he is doing great now I can't speak highly enough about this clinic.

Last year in March I had to put my husband in hospice and they let me board our dog on an emergency basis. I thank God that they were able to help me it was nice to know out dog was taken care of and I could be with my late husband in his final days.

This practice is wonderful. They take great care of my pet and they make sure to explain things as it relates to my bill and her needs. They do not push procedures or tests. Most importantly, my dog isn't terrified to walk in the doors. They pet and comfort her while they are giving shots and during exams. There is no price you can place on quality medical care from competent and compassionate caregivers. I want my pets to be treated the same way I am when I see my primary care doc. This is the place.

Everyone there is great with one exception.-Dr. Amy Fife- (Equine Doctor) Not to get her mixed up with Tom Jr’s wife Amy Isaac (she is wonderful) I brought my shar pei in to have stitches taken out(this was in the mid 90’s and I doubt that most are still there) Tom Sr was his doctor, but Tom Sr was out on a call. So me trusting that this Amy Fife would do a simple job that I could have and should have done at home…Instead I had a so called doctor pulling stitches with the knot still attached through my dogs wounded leg…I’m pretty sure she still works there-or the elk valley location- I know she has different last name now…I’m assuming she married and divorced. I would ask if she still works there before turning over your pet. She is the reason I don’t go there anymore… I won’t take a chance with that kind of incompetence with my animals- Rest of the staff like I say are WONDERFUL- And probably the most professional and kind people I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with but HER… don’t let HER (if she is still there) touch any form of animal you might have I wouldn’t let her examine my pet rock

Called this morning first thing when they opened because my pup was really sick and vomiting and they got us in there immediately, the vet was so knowledgeable and informative and caring. By far the nest customer service and care. We will be returning to use them as our regular vet. And my fur baby is almost back to normal!

They were there when I needed help for our dog, and was very prompt and helpful to us when we needed a 2nd opinion, saving us a great deal of money. My family and I are moving across country and we needed a place for our dogs to stay. I called and asked to make a reservation and provided all the necessary vaccination records to the staff. I called a week later to confirm since I had not heard from them and I was told there was no reservation and that they were totally booked. They even told me that they never received my email with my pets vaccination records. Now I have to scramble to find a place for my pets to stay. No compassion or empathy from the staff, did not even attempt to fix their mistake. **UPDATE** The staff contacted me later in the afternoon and asked if I still needed a place to board our dogs. They explained to me what had happened with my original request and did everything to fix the issue. On top of that or did were treated so well when they were board. Thank you so much for everything and taking such good care of our dogs.

I called when I got into the parking lot to have my dog euthanized and they were ready to take me inside within 5 minutes I was highly impressed given the circumstances. The Dr. And staff was so kind to me. The Dr. Came in the room and told me about the procedure and gave me time and the option to stay during or not. I chose to stay for the sedative but wait outside for the rest. They gave me a paw and nose print and mailed me a card, that really meant so much to me. I would recommend them to anyone.

I previously took one of my puppers to a different vet, the staff always seemed “put out” or too busy to help me. Not all the staff, just most of it! Lol! Mostly the front desk people. Anyway, I got a new fur baby and took him to Valley West to get him neutered, mainly bc their prices were more affordable, but I was extremely pleased with ALL the staff! They are super friendly, every single person I’ve talked to, they are prompt, fast, convenient, caring, and informative! Not once did I feel like I was “bugging” them with my questions! They valued my time also, which is very appreciated considering I’m a super busy person! Needless to say, I got my other pupper and kitty’s files transferred to Valley West and plan to take my furry family members there from now on!❤️❤️❤️❤️ I’m a HUGE FAN and will recommend anyone to VW!!!

I took my cat in as a walk in at 6pm, everyone there was so nice and helpful. Very clean facility. The Veterinarian I spoke with was very knowledgeable and made sure we understood what was going on. They were so sweet and gentle with my 10 yr old, 20 lbs cat. They are a little pricier than some other places but when it comes down to it, you can't put a price on trust.

Love the beautiful new building and they have different seating areas for cats and dogs which cats needs. Dr Keith and Dr. Isaac are amazing as I'm sure the rest of the Vets are. Extremely caring and compassionate staff that is equally as knowledgeable/educated. I've been to 6 different vets across the states during the time I've owned pets and this office is ranked in my top 2. I am always concerned with finding a vet that I can trust and that will also understand my love for my animals but I found that here at valley west. They were able to see BOTH of my cats quickly and they even called the next day to check in on them.I would highly reccomend this office. They also offer payment plans if you are in need.

I have used Valley West and Elk Valley since I moved to Charleston area in 1990. They provide excellent care for my dogs and great support for me as a pet owner. They put up with my never ending questions and patient with my concerns. The techs are very good and the receptionists are great. Dr. Isaac Sr and now Dr. Isaac Jr have done marvelous jobs with the orthopedic surgery that my dogs have needed. Amy Isaac removed tumors from one of my old dogs and she is doing much better. They do equally as well with medical issues and have worked with me to adjust medications for post-spay urine issues. I have no plans to go anywhere else.

I would recommend anyone looking for a place to take their pets as this office being one of the best in the Kanawha Valley. Love this place! All the staff are friendly helpful and very professional. Also they are all very thorough and attentive especially Dr. Amy Issacs. Shes absolutely amazing. Ill never take my fur babies anywhere else. My youngest baby is a scaried cat. But shes never seen another vet and shes just as calm as could be with Dr. Amy. Also the pricea here are so much more affordable than other vets in the area. Just about everyone i work with at the flower shop i work at takes their fur babies here as well. The vet also send out sympathy dish garden planter from the flower shop i work at to any and all pet owners that lose a baby. Which days alot about this place in my eyes. Definitely couldnt be happier with a veterinarian. Thanks again to all the staff and Dr. Amy!!

I will never choose another vet office ever again. Hands down (or paws down!) They are incredibly caring and awesome. We have brought our dogs and cats here and use their vets at their elk valley office for our horses. Everytime, they are outstanding. When we had to put down our beloved 18 year old dogs, they sent her a card of her paw print, a condolences card and her ashes. They are amazing people!!

Even though the pandemic of Covid separated me from face to face time with the doctor, she had no problem staying on the phone with me for several minutes answering all of my questions about my kitty. I will say that I had to wait in the parking lot for quite some time before the nurses came to get her, but afterwards I understood what had taken so long and was thankful that they had shown my cat the attention she needed and had taken the time to explain everything they did while answering all of my questions. This is the first time I had taken her to any vet here in wv. My mother had taken her cat there and recommended them to me, and I’m glad she did. They obviously care and take the necessary time for each animal. Even though I was aggravated while waiting in the car with my crying cat, I enjoyed watching the animals they brought out to other owners and how happy both were. I understand that we still need social distancing, I am just thankful that they treated my baby and she seemed comfortable and happy when they dropped her back to my car! So thank you all for taking such good care of her! She’s been happy and playful all evening since we got home! She’s obviously feeling much better! Also, it’s reasonably priced, considering all they did for her! I’m definitely pleased.

Have brought my last two pets to them and have always gotten great care. My only real complaint is their hours don't fit well with my work hours and it can be difficult to get my pet to them without taking time off to do so.. Sat morning hours do help that though! Definitely my first recommendation when someone asks for a good vet!!

My cat got caught under my couch and was bleeding a lot, I called valley west and they told me I could bring him in immediately to have him looked at, when I got there they rushed right out to my car got him and a brief history and then rushed him inside. Thankfully there was not any serious damage, just sliced the webbing between two of his toes on his back paw which they said was the cause for the amount of blood, gave him an antibiotic shot and pain medication. They were super helpful and completely understood my need to worry and said I made a good call bringing him in. The staff were so nice and kept me completely updated. Thank you so much valley west for making sure my fur baby was ok!

I had a special needs dog that was a diabetic and she was boarded there several times a year. They were so caring and professional. When she was fourteen and she had to be put down, the doctor gave her a sedative and let us spend time with her before the injection. The staff were so supportive and even sent us a sympathy card that was signed be all the staff. I wouldn't take any of my dogs anywhere else.

I have so much confidence in valley west. A few months ago, I brought my older cat Jackson to them because he was suffering with cancer. He had to be put to sleep as there was no cure for him. The staff at valley west was so kind and caring. They helped with the whole process from beginning to end. Now I bring my new kitten, Milo, to them because I know he will get the best of care.

We took our three pups for their annual visits today. Valley West is Covid-19 safe — the folks came to the car in masks to get our girls and to take them inside for their check-ups. We took our cat Salem in for what we thought was something simple: she had a prolapsed uterus and believed that spaying her would solve this issue. They did some blood work and found that Salem had many more issues than what she showed on the surface, including testing positive for Feline Leukemia. We understand that cats can absolutely live long and happy lives with this disease, but we'd also seen the effects of this disease first-hand with another of our cats a while back, and to save her the pain and stress of surgery and other various treatments, and her still having a chance even after to relapse and have issues with her disease made us come to the decision to have her euthanized. The positive side to this is we found a vet and emergency center who is caring, understanding, and willing to work with those less fortunate in terms of finances. We had a wonderful experience with all of the staff and would absolutely recommend this center to anyone who needs to bring their pet in for a checkup.

I have been taking my pet here for years, and I must say I'm very pleased with the care in which they give my animals. I had my puppy spayed & they sent me a photo and a progress report on her after she was finished; I thought this was very kind of them to do, because I was worried about her. There has never been any issues with scheduling or even cost on different things. The staff are very professional and meet the needs of my pet and myself. Very clean facility as well and that is a plus!! I could go on and on with my experiences, but I recommend this facility to anyone that has pets.

Just had a scary experience with my little Beignet. She has a heart disorder and takes meds every day morn and night. She got up one morning and would not take her meds which she loves and usually demands to have immediately by stomping those little feet and yelping. This morning she would not eat at all. She did drink water. We brought her to the vet and they agreed to see her right away. On that visit she received four injections I remember and the vet wanted to see her the next day. That visit she received another four injections and a liver detox plus pain meds because she was having a problem with her hind legs. She could not walk and would just drag them. The vet called to let me know where she would be the next Monday in case Beignet was still having problems. She was better, Thank Goodness, and has continued to get better. She's almost 14 so I know it's gonna happen but I'm not ready yet. She's on a fluid pill also. The heart caused the liver to enlarge. She is my baby and sweeter than any dog ever. Some vets may have wanted to put her down but I am so happy that mine did not even suggest it. Beignet is handling her bad back legs now, not walking well, but not suffering either. She hops around and appears happy and content. I am delighted to have her back. I owe that to a vet that cares about animals which I really appreciate so much. We love Valley West and have taken most all of our pets to them. Our rescue dog, Trixie, developed a mass behind her eye several years ago, which they were able to diagnose, and refer us to Virginia Tech for specialized treatment. Our current dog, blew out both of her ACLs last year and Dr. Isaac was absolutely wonderful with her. She had surgery last fall on the most unstable leg and we were very pleased with her treatment and the staff there. A year later, and she doesn't even have a noticeable limp. Each time we go there, whether it be for one of our 3 cats or our dog, we are always pleased with our visit.

They are skilled in medicine, surgery, and talking with the family even when it is time to make the hardest decisions about your pet. Dr. Tom Issac is by far my favorite, but my cats trust all the vets there. My only complaints are their limited doctor's hours, and that they no longer do blood transfusions. For that you must go to the Emergency Animal Hospital in South Charleston, and they are much more expensive, and only open 7pm to 7am. I recommend that you trust Valley West with your precious pets.

I had a mini poodle who had been hurt by a tech before. Well let me tell u he was always on best behavior when there. He trusted them. He had arthritis and they had to test his joints by flexing them and moving them around. Even though it hurt they were gentle and he knew it was ok. This is a top notch clinic. If ur thinking on it. My cat Bogey, was injured and needed care as soon as possible. I called Valley West after a coworker highly recommended them. They were so helpful and understanding and were able to see her right away. This place is nicer than my doctor's office and everyone was so friendly. They treated Bogey and she is home healing. This is now our vet from now on. Thank you to all the staff that took such good care of Bogey!
