We ended up at PetMedic this past Sunday. I called at 10 am right when they open, and we were able to see the vet at 11:30 am. (only Charlie, while I wait in the car- since they are doing curbside only, and that is okay with me). My baby boy is feeling better and it's on the mend. Thank you Dr. Weintraub and the team. Charlie had blood work done, and sent home with various meds- for an emergency visit, the price is reasonable (though our babies are priceless!) . I am so glad I made the choice to brought him to urgent care and not have to wait the next day for regular vet visit. The nurse even call Monday to check in to see how he is feeling. I highly recommended theirs vet!

I noticed for the past week or so my cat Jessy seemed uncomfortable and was scooting her bum on her blanket. I called my vet and they said they could not take her for weeks, however, they had recommended PetMedic Urgent Care. I looked them up online and was able to make an appointment for that day. They were on time for her appointment and made the visit as least stressful as possible and were great to communicate with. The entire staff— nurses and doctors (especially Dr. Krane) were so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this clinic and will certainly be back. Thank you all so much!

I was super panicked when I brought my cat to urgent care, and the front desk staff, nurse, and vet were incredibly nice to me (even though I wasn’t super nice, I’m sorry!). Very efficient operations. Dr gave 3 different options for treatment and was transparent that scans likely were not needed. The staff really showed love to my sick kitty, they sent me a cute photo of him, he didn't even cry on the way home so I'm sure his care experience was a good one.

I can’t say enough good things about pet medic and all it’s staff. I will never bring him anywhere else for urgent care. The doctor and techs are amazing. We had a scare with blood in his stool and some vomiting and they all made me and my dog feel so much better and got him treated quickly and affordably! Don’t hesitate to take your fur babies here they are treated like family. I would recommend pet medic to anyone that needs their pet to be seen.

I went to pet medic and they were the best emergency hospital I’ve ever been to for my pet. I have had really bad experiences with a few of them in the past. They were very kind, they called and told us every step on what they were going to do with buddy and they told us the cost of everything before they did it. I have already recommended a few people to go there. I truly have nothing but wonderful things to say about them. All the staff there is fantastic!!!!

I’ve brought my dog here a number of times for different reasons - ear infections, potential kennel cough, goopy eyes, skin infections ect. They have always been punctual, professional and friendly. I never feel like they’re trying to upsell me services, and they are genuine and honest with their advice and recommendations. The prices are pretty fair too. Sometimes it’s hard to get an appointment at my regular vets office, but I’ve never had any issues with getting an appointment at Pet Medic.

Facing the problem of an unexpected medical issue with our dog in the middle of a weekend, we were thrilled to be able to find that we could see a veterinarian at PetMedic the same day. The entire process was quite efficient and professional. The veterinarian was careful to communicate the details of the problem, the therapy and necessary follow up. The rest of the staff was welcoming, supportive and very attentive to our pet’s needs. The facility is up to date, accessible, and has adequate, convenient parking. Cost of the visit was reasonable. Most importantly, only a few hours later, our dog (and we)feel much better.

Fabulous experience from start to finish! The staff was obviously interested and concerned about my dog, which means a lot when you're handing the leash over to a stranger. The vet was thorough and communicated in a compassionate and professional manner. I also think for an emergent appointment the cost is extremely reasonable. PetMedic is a great idea! This was our first visit and we had a very positive experience! Our Golden Retriever Reggie hurt his paw and was limping for a few days and we wanted to have a doctor look at him since he wasn’t improving. Our regular veterinarian was booked solid for four weeks, We called another vet .. but he was also booked, but suggested we call PetMedic in Watertown and we’re so happy we did! It’s urgent care for pets! A genius idea! Everyone was so nice and caring, the doctor was great and very helpful! If you ever need help for your pet, remember PetMedic! Our cat, Mia, stopped eating suddenly, and Dr. Ben-Ari and the whole Pet Medic team were phenomenal! I would highly recommend Petmedic Urgent Care to everyone! My cat had a badly ingrown claw which we had never experienced before. It was quick and easy to get an appointment, even on a Sunday night. From the receptionist who took my initial call to the person who took my cat in an out of the building all the way to the doctor, all were excellent! I knew exactly what I was getting into before I even showed up. I am so satisfied and feel that they took such great care with my cat. they explained everything they had to do and gave me good aftercare instructions and even suggestions to avoid this in the future. 10 out of 10 recommend!

Our 6 year old Standard Poodle is prone to ear infections, especially post grooming. We love our regular Vet but her clinic is nearly an hour away. We have come to count on PetMedic Urgent Care Vet Clinic when Moose develops and ear infection, and getting to our regular Vet is complicated by work schedules and available appointment times. This evening I brought Moose in and he indeed had an ear infection. The care provided is thorough (examination, cytology, treatments, prescriptions) and efficient. The entire appointment, door to door took just under an hour. I was able to easily schedule an evening appointment online this afternoon. In our experience from Receptionist, to Vet Tech, to Vet, the staff is always professional, kind, and competent. I highly recommend this clinic!

Called the clinic an hour and a half before they closed asking if they could take my dog, Comet, as he had a hot spot on his face that was spreading. After being told by a couple ER’s since they were only taking critical patients (which I get) I was extremely thankful that were able to fit me in and give Comet the care he needed! Highly recommend. Everyone I spoke to was extremely kind and I felt comfortable handing him over for the examination while I waited in my car.

This review is for the dermatology division of pet medic. Dr. McKinney Zewe and her receptionist and tech are absolutely fantastic. My Boston terrier has had skin issues for her entire 4 years of life. Dr. McKinney Zewe provided more information about Mowgli’s skin condition and ways to treat it than any other vet had been able to provide since Mowgli was 7 weeks old. Not only that, but Dr. Zewe was extremely kind and considerate about the cost barriers associated with some of the suggested treatments, she clearly had no judgments about my financial situation. Please go here if your dog has ongoing issues with their skin or allergies! Her and her team are so knowledgeable and let Mowgli leave with a toy from their toy basket, which Mo picked out herself of course! I’m excited to finally have Mowgli on a strict plan to clear up her skin, and we are both excited to go back in a month. Thank you petmedic dermatology team!

My 18 month old pup had a.very raw and obviously painful spot on his butt. I booked an appointment online, showed up 10 minutes early and received a text that I could bring my dog up to the door early as well! The vet techs were very friendly and very courteous! My Lab ate another fabric toy before I could stop her. I called PetMedic on the advice of our emergency hospital and they told us to come right in. They took us right away and within 10 minutes the item came back up. They were so professional and caring, I would come back in a heartbeat. Knowing this dog I would say we will be back. Super easy to make an appointment online. As of 12/12 they are doing curbside so you call when you arrive and they take your pet in for the exam. The staff is so sweet and will answer all of your questions, thank you Gabby, Caitlin and Dr. Baker! I hope I don’t have to come back, but if I need after hours care I’ll check here first!

I came to PetMedic after spending over $1,000 and getting no clear answers from my cat’s veterinarian in over two months, and PetMedic was able to diagnose and begin treating the problem in less than a week. The staff really seemed to care about my cat, they explained both the medical problems and the procedures in ways that were easy to understand, and they were also mindful of the fact that I’d already overspent on ineffective treatments. I was Doggie-sitting for someone when I noticed Doggie didn't seem to feel well. At 9:00 pm, just to be on the safe side, I made an appointment at PetMedic Urgent Care Vet Clinic and Doggie was seen right away! Turns out Doggie was OK. Needed to bring my dog to get an issue looked at. This was very out of the way from where I live but so glad I went. The booking process was seamless and my dog was in and out within a half hour. Couldn’t be happier with how everything went and they’re VERY reasonable with prices.

Had a really great experience here, our dog had ripped part of his dew claw nail off and needed some help. We were able to easily book an appointment online and got an appointment within 30 minutes; had a detailed convo about what our options were and they were able to remove the nail, clean and patch him up within the hour. Would absolutely take my dog here again (but hopefully don't have to!) and am thankful it was such a positive smooth experience.

My dog was injured around 11pm on a Monday night a couple of months ago and we rushed him to Petmedic in Waltham. The people there were SO kind and understanding, and most notably informative on what all was going on/needed to happen/costs. They helped make an awful situation a little better and I could tell they cared for my dog as if he was their own. Afterwards, they refunded me ~$30 for a fee I never would've known was an error on their end without any prompt, and one of the nurses was kind enough to call me the next days to check in on how my pup was doing. Despite the unfortunate circumstances of my visit, I was extremely happy with the service here!

I’m pet sitting and he had a little cough. I was able to get him seen the same evening and was sent home with some antibiotics. Had no idea urgent care exists for pets. Everyone was really nice and super accommodating. A+

I can’t recommend a better place to take your pet for urgent care! Since the pandemic it’s been hard to get our vet to see our puppy for a same day appointment. I was told this morning I’d have to call every morning to see if there’d be a cancellation or take her to PetMedic for a possible eye infection. This was our second visit here and I can’t say enough about the vets, techs, and staff. They are kind, compassionate and professional. Our first visit was for a paw injury and even though they had no appointments, they agreed to see our pup. We had to leave her for 8 hours but they stayed way beyond closing time to make sure she was taken care of. From drop off to pick up we were informed about the progress of our girl. I’ve never had more comprehensive after care instructions. And to top it off, PetMedic is reasonably priced! Please don’t hesitate to bring your pet here.

If there is any reason i can not get my dog an appointment with his vet, I do not hesitate to contact PetMedic. The staff is welcoming to my call and, most important, my dog. He has no hesitation to go with tech. During appointment they text with update...the Doctor doesn't rush through explanation of my boy's diagnosis and doesn't hurry me with my questions. All contact I have had with office has been a very nice experience. I would highly recommend.

Our 8 week young Golden Doodle had a tick bite early Friday morning and it was a cause for concern. Our pup was showing signs of vigorous itching and potty issues and we need to address to provide her comfort. Due to the storm, our primary vet was closed - understandable. Called all the vet ER’s in our area and most were at least a 4+ hour wait! Not PetMedic! The vet team was ready to accept and take care of our little girl Birdie. The process was streamlined with online registration, texts, calls and no-contact consultations while waiting on your car. The PetMedic team was caring, gentle, explained costs and tests, performed necessary care, and gave us peace of mind about our pup. Remind you, this service is provided in the evenings on “off” hours and the PetMedic team met the challenge! PetMedic even sent notice to our primary vet that our pup was seen. 5 stars! Pets can’t speak for themselves, we as family members will relentlessly pursue their well-being!

Best vet experience I have had in a very long time. I brought my dog here for an emergency visit because he had a mass in his ear that was bleeding profusely. We brought him here and they removed it and sent us home with medicine and instructions. The price was actually very fair, I was expecting to pay at least $2,000-3,000 but instead it was $1,000 which isn't bad. Plus the staff and the veterinarians are super friendly and kept us updated every step of the way. I would highly recommend bringing your pets here especially under emergency circumstances.

I’m honestly so surprised about the efficiency of this urgent care. I called in and got connected to someone immediately. She sent me the form and asked me to go to the clinic immediately. They took in my dog and the doctor called me after 20 minutes to let me know that my dog is safe to be released. The whole process is so smooth, and the price is also reasonable. They also called back the next day to check in on my dog. Highly recommend this place!

I can’t say enough about my experience. My dog at a dark chocolate bar and became sick. I whisked him to the Pet Urgent Care and was seen quickly and they communicated with me the whole time about his car their and then again about after care at home. Highly recommend. Oh, and super affordable.

I went to PetMedic this evening for my sick cat. I had a truly remarkable experience, they were extremely helpful when I phoned regarding the details of how I need to register and check in. Even better this was all done via text after the initial phone call. They are doing contact free examinations, and while I had to wait in the car for a bit it was definitely worth it. The admission staff, tech vets, and the veterinarian were all wonderful. They were appreciatively conservative in their approach, and rather than try and recommend or push multiple expensive procedure, they suggested a wait and see approach with medication in the interim. Payment was done via a messaging option, which made it extremely easy. A big thank you to the team I would recommend going to PetMedic for any urgent care needs for your animals.

I’m new to the area, and my bull terrier mix started having stomach issues before I’ve been able to get in to a vet. After too much googling her symptoms, I found out about PetMedic and ended up getting more emotional than I anticipated explaining what was happening and wondering if I should come in. The person on the phone was absolutely sympathetic and empathetic, consulted with a medical professional and let me know my dog was likely OK until they could see her the next day. When I went in, the staff was kind, thorough, and skilled. They went above and beyond to explain what was wrong, helped me find a food that might agree with her better, and did it all with authentic smiles and attentiveness. Also, the prices are more than reasonable. I expected to pay at least double what I did for urgent care. I really appreciate them not gouging, which really proves the kind of people and business they are. Plus, everyone told me my girl was a very good dog and absolutely adorable, which further proved their expertise. ☺️😉🤪

I took my dog Teddy here and I couldn’t have been more satisfied with the way they took care of him and kept us updated on everything they were doing with him. They were kind, caring and thorough. The vet explained everything in a way that was easy to understand that was specific to our breed of dog and the issues they are prone to. And even though this a secondary concern, financially they didn’t break the bank. Very reasonable. I wish they weren’t only for emergency services. Thank you all!

This place is great- I called 6pm on a Saturday evening with a dog that was not okay, and they saw me before 6:30. Received excellent detailed info and prescription , home by 7:30, and lulu is now resting peacefully 8pm. So easy , so thorough, so prompt, so cheerful. Thank god for this place. My cat was having a constipation crisis. It was too late to go to his primary vet, and an ER gets very costly. This was our first visit. The doctor and staff here are wonderful. I’m sure I will be back because cats generally don’t get sick during regular business hours.

I am thrilled that PetMedic opened in Watertown, in such a convenient location. My 10 yo pup was having what we thought were seizures, so we went to the clinic, since it is close to home. We ended up at MassVet in Woburn, but the care we got at PetMedic up to then was wonderful. Dr. Nir has a wonderful beside manner, is thoughtful, smart and caring. He ran labs and checked him out thoroughly, sent us on our way to Woburn, where they were expecting us and had the report already. Though I hope I never need to go again (of course!), I will definitely go back if I need to! ps - we still don't know what happened to Moxie, after an uneventful night in the hospital and a checkup by the neurologist. But he is happy at home and back to his old self, guarding the 'hood!

Wow, I am just so impressed with this clinic. I’m new to the area and the waiting times to find a new vet are rough. We pulled up right when they opened and my sweet guy was in and out within an hour. The staff were wonderful. Both the nurse and the vet had long, thorough conversations with me about his symptoms, the exam they gave, and possible tests we could do. They helped find the most affordable option for testing and gave us some meds to tide us over in the meantime. Wonderful, caring people. Highly recommend.

I came in on short notice because I noticed that some blood was coming out of my cat’s nose when he was sneezing. I was naturally very scared for the welfare of my kitty and concerned about being able to get him seen ASAP. They were able to check him out much more quickly than I anticipated! New to the area and haven’t set my pup up with a vet - and of course she gets into something she shouldn’t have! I called this clinic frantically and they calmly gave me direction on what I should do, and recommended I come right in. My pup is also very nervous and can be skittish with strangers - when the staff met me at the door, my dog went right in tail wagging. The vet called me personally with an update within 20 minutes, after giving my dog a medicine to make her throw up what she ingested. He kindly explained the procedure and reassured me my dog was fine. I figured I was going to receive a super expensive bill for the high quality care, but it was COMPLETELY reasonable!! When I met the staff at the door to pick up my dog (all within an hour!) she was wagging her tail and completely comfortable with the staff. I am so impressed and grateful for this place - I highly recommend!

Everyone at PetMedic is kind, caring, and friendly every time that my puppy's needed to be seen here (and I joke that we're frequent flyers!). When the doctor calls after the exam, they're very thorough and easy to understand, as well as happy to answer any additional questions that I might have. I would HIGHLY recommend PetMedic Urgent Care Clinic. I recently added a new Belgian Malinois puppy to my household who was feeling extremely under the weather. All within the last 24 hours he had sudden symptoms such as loss of appetite, loose stool and vomiting. I was extremely concerned with him being so young and not fully vaccinated yet due to age. I called upon arrival and waited only a short time to be seen. It was such an easy process unlike other urgent care clinics. They sent me a link directly to my texts with a quick intake form. I also received text updates on how he was doing as I anxiously waited outside. It’s very comforting knowing that he was so well taken care of and how tentative they were to his needs as well as mine. I have been in the pet industry for 15 years and am extremely particular about where I bring my dogs for care. Dr. Sakakeeny and Emily were extremely helpful and I felt relieved knowing little Tony was in such good hands.

This was our first time using an urgent care clinic vs. pet ER, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The PetMedic staff were SO KIND and very conversational, putting me instantly at ease. Not transactional at all! They were honest about wait times, and that due to covid they are still doing everything electronically/social distancing. But I actually really liked that I could register and pay all from my phone (they texted me all the links to their platform). They greeted me at the door to take my sick pup and were very quick to report back and get my consent on their medical actions. I just waited in my car getting updates along the way. This is more a heads up vs a complaint since it’s about the building property - if you have to go at night, the parking lot that you wait in is right behind clinic….but not super well lit. Just a little worrying as I was in my car by myself waiting. But plenty of people coming and going on the road.

My wife and I have had to bring our puppy Lizzie to PetMedic on several occasions, and each time the experience was outstanding. The staff at the Watertown location are friendly, professional, and so caring. Our doggie is our child and when she has been sick there is always anxiety and worry that accompany it, so it is so comforting to us when the staff treats us with compassion and respect. We love PetMedic! I took our kitten to a local vet and they said she just had earwax but no infection and they cleaned it out. The next day she was so bad exhibiting signs of vestibular disease. We took her to PetMedic they discovered she did have an infection and they treated her with antibiotics and ear drops. She also may have a ruptured eardrum (possibly caused by the other vet). PetMedic made a huge difference in our kittens life. The staff was phenomenal and showed a true concern for my kitty! I would highly recommend then highly. We are so grateful to them!

Very grateful to have an urgent Care available for those times when the pets regular vet is not available, but the issue does not rise to emergency level. This urgent care is hands down amazing. Not only is it affordable, it’s unbelievable convenient and reliable when you can’t get into your vet. The three or so times I’ve taken my dog teddy over there was nothing but a pleasure. He’s seen in a timely manner, they have same day appointments and also take walk ins. All the staff is very pleasant, caring, and just very kind. The doctors always are super thorough and listen while you’re talking about your pet. Very impressed with staff, efficiency, care of our cat, time it took and the bill. We had an appointment and we were notified they were running behind when we arrived but only waited 20 minutes which is good for urgent care. They called multiple times for information about our cat’s problem, history, work-up plans, what was done and recommendations. Everyone was very nice, knowledgeable, kept commenting on how sweet our cat was (their compassion came through even over the phone). Our cat has had same renal issues previously and the vet gave same recommendations and meds as our normal vet (who said this was urgent but couldn’t see us). The bill was only slightly higher, but expected when they are seeing an animal at late hours. Would highly recommend and definitely use again if needed.

I was thoroughly impressed with how kind and attentive the staff are at PetMedic Urgent Care Vet Clinic. I took my senior beagle there last night, and they were super busy and running a bit behind which I understand, because there has been a shortage of med/vet staffing. They did keep in contact with my husband and I through text and call, as we waited in the parking lot for them to call us to bring our dog through the back for covid reasons. They made a diagnosis pretty quickly after they saw him and did some lab work. The price was really reasonable for the visit. They also made sure to call me the today to see how my dog is doing. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who has a furry family member in need of kind and efficient medical care.

Brought my cat here after noticing he wasn't acting like himself. Arrived five minutes after opening but was already the sixth walk-in in line, but they called me to bring him in about 40 minutes later, so much shorter than I expected. Everyone I spoke to was very kind and I appreciated that I was able to speak directly to the vet and how transparent he was with the costs of procedures/treatments. Prices felt very reasonable. My only qualm is I would have loved to go inside with my cat but I understand why they are asking people to wait in their cars.

I had an excellent experience here! My senior (but young at heart) pupper was limping badly but not an emergency or due to any accident or acute injury and my vet had no openings. I got on the waitlist for an appt (there weren’t any) and called when they opened to ask if they’d take walking. They called a half hour later to have us come over. We didn’t wait long and they saw him, took great care of him, took xrays (with my permission), and sent us home with pain relief. They’ll forward on to my regular vet tomorrow and I’ll consult with her further. They were accommodating, respectful, and fairly priced. I’d definitely recommend!

I couldn’t find anyone to see my cat. Pet urgent care in Watertown was able to fit her in. Obviously their not in this business unless you love animals. My cat was hiding in corners just staring at the wall and not responding to us. Wow what a difference 12 hours makes. She wasn’t eating or peeing or drinking her water. She had ultrasound,,X-ray and fluid. We went home with pain medicine and antibiotics as she has a Uti and a stone. I was happy to find a large pee spot in her kitty litter box this morning and she’s taking her medicine. She was meowing and purring as her usual sweet self. I took my dog in to get checked out after getting his paw stepped on a few months back. It would hurt him on and off. We decided to bite the bullet and get him looked at. I was expecting a very big bill, but it was way less. They did an examination and determined that he did not need xrays. This cut my bill down by 75%. He came out extremely happy and full of tail wags. They ended up giving us some medication to help with inflammation and pain/calming pills. They told us to come back in 2 weeks if he has not improved to do some xrays then. Lastly, they saw that I lived on the local military base through my address, and after verifying that I was military, they got me a 10% discount. I didn't even think about asking if one was available.

PetMedic is the best. After waiting 4 hours at our local emergency vet after our dog ate a grape, we went to PetMedic for our follow up care and the difference was unbelievable. Our dog was brought in to be checked immediately, brought back out to our car after an exam, and we waited 10 minutes for results. She needed to be seen today for sudden swelling in her face, and their appointments were full but they very graciously found a way to fit her in. If you find yourself waiting outside during covid protocols there’s a bike path nearby where you can walk around while you wait. How to start a glowing all star review? Let's start with name of the veterinarian Dr. Katie SAKAKEENY. Eight rescue dogs, 6 cats & I've never been this impressed. Not in LA, NYC, TX, WA, Cambridge, Somerville or Belmont MA. The intake Vet Assistant was clear & empathetic. I brought my dog Nick's records and wrote a short summary of his "situation" (he decided to go after a Porcupine. This is far more of an emergency than I knew.) Appropriate non judgmental questions were asked. We were in a smaller vestibule through the front door and I was so grateful that masks were required because I have preexisting conditions & had been boosted, but as a Zoologist I don't trust mutations & especially other clients. I felt HEARD which, in my book, is critical to good care. Ten minutes later I met Dr. Katie Sakakeeny and was taken to another room; Professional, empathetic, calming (you know how frantic & scattered you can get with an injured pet.) She listened far better than my Primary Care Physician!! confirmed my description (and not in that annoying way of making you repeat everything you already told the Intake assistant) and with pure focus, no interruptions, explained, yes, porcupine quills: their mode of entry, their ability to “back in” i.e. enter & injure internal organs. Clear, concise, not condescending. At no point did I sense I was being “upsold” that arguable tests were “required” or “highly suggested”… which as you know, you can be vulnerable to when your mind is dizzy with fear. An approximate cost was quoted (which ended up being exact) but the meds were added after. No vet can predict those in this situation. At all times the process was clear. I went online and was able to book the first appointment at 5PM. (Don’t be confused I believe they open at 4PM for walk-in emergencies.) The directions were clear: park in the back 15 minutes before hand, wait in car for phone call. Remember this review is being written during another Covid upswing, April 2022, which many are not paying attention to.) I did mess up the entry. I didn’t see the door buzzer on my left placed on the window frame. So I just knocked & called. Easy. Nickie was happily walking so I was asked to go around to the front 30 feet away. Timing. The vet explained that Nick might not be done until 10PM which was no problem with us. Again - call or buzz at arrival. It did take another 25 minutes but that was because Nickie was slow coming off his meds. We were given antibiotics and pain meds both of which are absolutely required after, ahem, porcupine. I was told the cost of the meds, no surprises. I’d like to point out something I shouldn’t have to. This is a mid trauma urgent care clinic. That means if another more serious case shows up you can’t whine about timing. Really people. Also, this is a well thought of dermatology practice. They’re experts and I know some of you have had to deal with allergies. I certainly have with dogs. In conclusion. I have lived in the Kalahari desert- a 3 day drive from a store. Forget about a vet. Our family has had to do significant animal care, including emergencies: Baby baboon, duiker, reptiles, mongooses and a bushbaby. I know critters and I can tell when someone else does. While caring for a friend's cats, one of them developed an issue that I felt needed to be check out. With the cat's regular vet an hour drive away I decided to use PetMedic. I was thrilled with every aspect of PetMedic. They have a great location that has parking (lot and street), the building is new and clinic is spotless. It was extremely easy to make an appointment (I made it online), and was able to have the cat seen within about an hour. It wasn't healing, so I called a her regular vet, and they could get her in to be seen, but likely wouldn't have time to do stitches if they were required. They recommended Angell or Tufts - both of which can have crazy, 5+ hour waits these days. I was able to book a same day appointment here, after work. EVERYONE that took care of Shelby (my dog), was so kind and thoughtful, and really took the dog's individual needs into account. When I called my vet they didn’t have any vacancies to get him checked and recommended this urgent care. I was able to book an appointment online and they took him in on time. This was our first experience with the new PetMedic in Watertown (a privately owned urgent care vet, NOT a franchise, as we discovered) and outside of the circumstances that brought us there- everything else was AWESOME!! We found ourselves having a super fun (insert extreme sarcasm here lol) Friday night with our new fur baby puppy who had a distended belly and constant throwing up which made us (well, maybe me, mommy) very nervous so we rushed on over at 8 pm and were processed/admitted right away. All safety protocols are in place (only pets get to head inside) but our puppies demeanor after the experience (only 1 hour later) shows me she was treated with lots of care and compassion. We had to head back the next morning for x-rays (as doggie needed an empty stomach) and we were done with everything in 40 minutes! (Included the same great interactions as we had the night before). Dr. Nir was super knowledgeable/thorough (he actually prompted my usually cynical husband to say, "Now that guy sounds like he knows what he is talking about." - lol) and the reception/vet tech were very sweet and kind with our puppy. They were also very helpful with ensuring papers were sent direct to our pet insurance company (a very nice customer service touch!) The hours are amazing (open until 11 pm most nights) and the proximity to our house is key (less than 1/2 mile). For non- routine visits, this is our new dedicated furbaby emergency site! (Just hope we don't need to head there too often :) So happy to have you here in Watertown guys!

We did have to wait an extra hour because of walk ins but the alternative was waiting for who knows how long at the ER. I would highly recommend this urgent care location if u need help for ur furbabys!! I went to urgent care tonight w/my dog Sunny, she is in remission from Lymphoma and every little thing worries me that her cancer will return. We went there and found out my dog has a yeast infection. I've been to petmedic u.c. many times now & everytime the staff is extremely pleasant & helpful. The vets are amazing & I'm always happy with the services they provide. They are cheaper & in my opinion better than any ER. I'd give 10 stars if I could. Highly recommended!!

PetMedic is wonderful. Our 1 year old terrier developed a sore of unknown origin on his snout that was worrisome looking. Our vet (who was booked) recommended PetMedic for urgent care and they gave us an appointment right away. They were very nice to deal with and prescribed a course of antiobiotic along with a probiotic. The sore disappeared completely about a week after he completed the antibiotics.

We recently moved to the area and do not have a regular vet yet. When my dog hurt her paw, we were having a difficult time getting into a vet's office since apparently none of them take walk-ins? Anyway, one of them recommended this place and I was able to make a same-day appointment online. The booking process was very easy, staff and vet were very kind and communicative. When we got there, they discussed that they would need to shave and clean her wound (a billable service, but understandable as they usually need to restrain the dog, then use special cleaners). After they examined her, they called me to discuss her treatment plan and gave me a quote for everything that was discussed. They were prompt, very kind, and very reasonably priced, which is a great thing to find in an urgent care vet (bad urgent care vets seem like they will just nickel and dime you while guilting you if you can't afford their preferred treatment plan). Anywho, we would definitely recommend them to anyone and, should we need to, we will definitely go back to them.

I was surprised that the day after they even reached out to see how his progress was going, even going as far as letting us email photos to check up on him avoiding an unnecessary visit. So happy this type of pet care exists! My cat fractured her tooth and we weren’t able to get a vet appointment right away. I took my cat here recently because I feared she had an eye infection and my vet had no appointments for two weeks. I made an appointment the next day and it couldn’t have been any easier. You call the number to let them know you are there, they note your concerns, and come get your pet from the car. Then very shortly after the Dr called me and I was checked out in less than 45 minutes overall. I will definitely be back if needed!

We had a great experience from start to finish. We were on the waitlist for our dog Buddy yesterday, a staff member called and said we could try a walk in, but unfortunately the only time we could make it over for was 8pm or later. An opening at 8pm popped up and the staff member remembered this and contacted us to get Buddy in for an appointment. He was having some eye issues. He saw Dr. Sakakeeny and though she knew something serious was wrong with eye, she is not an ophthalmologist so could not make a diagnosis. We have been struggling to get in to see Buddy's ophthalmologist or even see an ophthalmologist through emergency. Dr. Sakakeeny was kind enough to reach out to an ophthalmologist that she knows and get some pictures of Buddy's eye over to them, they were concerned and we were able to bring Buddy in through emergency at the hospital the ophthalmologist works at this morning. We got a diagnosis and a treatment plan and Buddy's eyes are on the mend. I can't thank Dr. Sakakeeny enough for going above and beyond for Buddy. I would highly recommend PetMedic.

I owe them everything. If your dog is ever sick you should take them here. Our puppy had a blockage in his intestines and would have died without surgery. The doctors here were able to get us in right away and performed a complicated surgery that involved removing some of his intestines. They kept him there until they had to close monitoring him. They sent us home with medications and detailed instructions on what needed to be done. When I had questions 3 hours after they had closed the doctor and one of the nurses answered my email. You never get this type of service anywhere else. Throughout the following two weeks we could call them and ask questions and someone was always there to answer our calls. These people are truly amazing and we owe them everything because we have our boy back.

I just officially moved my kitties into my Somerville apartment about a week ago. A couple of days ago, I noticed that one of my cats had a weird discharge coming out her eye. I panicked because her vet is in NYC (where i’m from) and I couldn’t get to him right away. I am so happy I found PetMedic. Things have got to be difficult at the moment without being able to speak to customers in person and needing to literally be a back door operation, but not once was anyone anything but professional. I was able to take in my cat who I believed was suffering from a UTI and after all was said and done, we came to what we hope is the right solution. That’s the place to go in any urgent matter with your pet! They are knowledgeable, kind, and patient (man.. I ask SO many questions every time!). Thy have every resource to help your pet unless your pet needs surgery (if your pet got hurt, has a broken leg or something, go to the ER!). Their hours are also very convenient, and if you can’t make an appointment (they only get appointments for the same day), you can still go and your pet will be seen as a walk-in. I can’t thank them enough (Dr. Ben-Ari is super!). Both thumbs up!

PetMedic saw my dog tonight when my own vet could not ser him for a week and 2 other Vet ERs declined as they were at capacity with ongoing covid (mind you, Baker lifted the emergency order recently). We spoke only by cell as dog entered unaccompanied but staff was knowledgeable and kind. We need to see specialist but have some idea what is going on and some palliative treatment. It’s not a complicated fix, but they took the correct reasonable actions (trimming the nail and bandaging it as opposed to a more problematic sedation and removal, which I was nervous about.) Dr. Nir saved our little Abby Cat’s life tonight. He and Alicia immediately took Abby into their care, seconds after we walked through the door. Abby was in bad shape, difficulty breathing and drooling. Within minutes Dr. Nir determined that Abby’s lungs needed to be drained. With my permission, he successfully went about the procedure saving Abby from severe distress, and essentially saved her life on the spot. Dr. Nir kept me informed throughout our entire visit, entirely up front about potential cost, pros and cons of further diagnostics, and down to earth advice (he literally sat on the floor with Abby and I, multiple times, as she got her bearings after the emergency procedure). He went so far as to draw me a diagram to help me better understand Abby’s ailment. There were no excessive or unnecessary treatments, or outrageous recommendations. From past experience with my previous cat, it is extremely difficult to find honest and thorough veterinary care, without maxing out your life savings. I would highly recommend this facility, particularly Dr. Nir’s expertise and sincerity. He is clearly passionate about his work, and equally as knowledgeable. The neighborhood veterinary urgent care facility that he has built here in the center of Watertown is brilliant. His incredibly professional, kind, and clearly experienced vet tech., Alicia was a thoughtful addition to his veterinary practice. Sara the receptionist offered me the emotional support that I didn’t even know I needed. Above and beyond all around...not to mention, pristine clean! These compliments may seem excessive, but when a family member’s life is on the line, one can never express enough gratitude. Thank you Dr. Nir. May you and your staff continue to work miracles.🙏🏽💙😻
