A stray literally walked into my house. He'd looked pretty bad as he's probably been outside for a while. Matted fur fleas and other things. I called and they said they did chip reading. As there was no collar on him. When I got there I called and Melissa came out to scan him. I explained what happened and how I found him. Super sweet older most likely... Was super sweet to my kids, was super good when I tried to wash him( his fur needed to be shaved so I stopped so I wouldn't hurt him), and even though my cat was super hyped for a fight, he ignored him. She wanted to take him. Went in and Came back and said she'd take him if no one claimed him. I only met one staff member but I think the rest would be just as nice. Saw the vet come out to talk to a fur parent so looks like a nice place. I honestly wouldn't mind bringing my cats to give them a try.

Always a pleasant experience. Each doctor we have met with takes their time explaining what is needed for our animals (one 3 year old cat and one 6 month old puppy). Whether annual check ups or making an appt for a sick animal, they always show compassion and are true professionals.

North Dekalb Veterinary is phenomenal in every way! Dr. Sylvia Bell is absolutely wonderful. She has taken the time to get to know my dog Ernest and has proven that she truly cares. She has even called me after business hours to let me know test results, etc. I couldn’t ask for a better vet. I am impressed by the whole staff. I’ve taken my dog there since he was a puppy and he’s now 3 years old. They have treated him with love, care, and patience since day one. While he doesn’t love going, I rest knowing he is in good hands while he’s there. So very thankful!

Dr. Lloyd loves cats and is wonderful with them. The other doctors are great, too, but I like to see Dr. Lloyd because he is a cat person.

I have been taking my pups to NDVC since 2007. Dr. Bell, Dr. Katz and all the staff are wonderful! I' sure Dr. Lloyd is great too but he only gets to clean her teeth - not an easy job! Back in January, one of our old girls had her last visit to the vet. The compassion that Dr. Bell had was so appreciated. Such a difficult time and she stayed with me the entire time. I can't say enough good things about NDVC!

They have COVID-19 protocols to keep everyone safe: clients and docs. If your visit takes a little bit longer, its because more people are ahead of you. They take care a LOT of pets!

Dr. Lloyd (I refer to as the cat whisperer) is the best! I have gone through 3 cats over the past 14 years with this clinic! I completely trust my cats with Dr. Lloyd's care. He is very knowledgeable, patient, compassionate, and empathetic, you can tell a true cat lover. I never felt rushed through, he always took the time to explain everything to me. The front desk staff, especially Aileen are very personable and flexible. I have had many emergency/last minute drop-ins that were accommodated and help put me at ease. I highly recommend this clinic!

Dr. Lloyd and his staff are excellent! If you are owned by a cat, he is the "cat whisperer". He has been very frank, supportive and email accessible, at need, as we addressed my cat's stomatitis. It's incurable, but I am confident in Dr. Lloyd's recommendations and care. My cat has improved and has a good quality of life. Their protocol for dealing with COVID19 is also very good. The techs come to your car and pick up the pet. When the exam is over, the vet comes out to discuss the diagnosis and treatment. Payment is handled the same way. Staff comes to the car.

I’ve been taking several of my cats to Dr. Lloyd at this clinic for over 6 years. He is literally the cat whisperer. I have felt so taken care of here. I had to put down my 18 year old cat Oliver last year and they walked me through the whole process and handled it with grace (they also walked me through his many illnesses as well). It was the first time I ever lost a pet in my 33 years and Oliver was a huge part of my life. I really appreciated how they handled it. A few days after his passing I got a nice card from the clinic in the mail offering condolences. A very important and special gesture during a difficult time. I highly recommend this place.

Dr. Lloyd is a caring and impressive cat veterinarian. Am just beginning to take my cat with stomatitis to him. 🙏🙏🙏 for significant help. Time will tell. It's largely an "incurable" disease. Very impressed with their COVID-19 safety protocol. Pets are taken inside. Owners stay outside. When the exam is over the vet comes to discuss the details and set up for next steps, if any are needed. Admin comes for payment and brings receipt. Not touchless, but close. Everyone wore masks.

I took my cat and dog to see Dr. Atkins for the first time today for their annual visits. I was able to get them in as new patients the same week that I called, which is hard to expect at other clinics. Checking in was quick and effortless, the lobby was quiet and cheerful, and we entered the exam room at the time of our scheduled appointment . We were checking out within half an hour and Dr. Atkins was great with both of my pets. The staff was very nice and I especially appreciated them doing their triage routine in front of me in the exam room instead of "taking them to the back". My pets remained calm the entire time and were never stressed by the process. Thank you all for taking care of them and I will be bringing my two other pets as well when they need to come in!

All the vets here have been great. They appear knowledgeable, kind and passionate about the health of my animals. When I bring my cats in, I know they are in good hands. I only wish they had a midtown office. But my driving across town is a testament to the quality of the care the vets here provide. I'm a bit old fashioned. I like smaller places where everybody hopefully knows your name. After going to my former vet for the past five years, I realized I just dreaded going and it was time for a change. I had a great experience last week as a first time customer. I felt like I was welcome and not a burden. The doctor actually took time with my dog AND cat ( both kids) and the appointment didn't feel rushed. I also didn't feel judged in any way for being slightly overdue on vaccinations for the dog. Overall it was just a pleasant experience. And the front desk ladies were fun and super friendly despite being busy. I think I've found my permanent place as I know I will always have fur kids. Thumbs up!

Dr. Katz and the entire staff are WONDERFUL. They are always responsive, take time to answer any questions, and my dog seems like he doesn't actually mind coming here. I love that they process a lot of the labs in house, so the results are really quick. I think they've done a great job with the COVID modifications--you simply wait in your car and then they come out and talk to you before and after your pet's exam--so you can listen to a pod or read while your pet is getting the best of care. Plus, it's super fun to tell your friends that your vet's name is Dr. KATZ lol :)

We have been patients/customers here for more than 20 years. Dr Max Katz is the kindest and, most importantly, smartest diagnostic vet I have had the pleasure of visiting. NDVC has extended the lives of all of our pets, while raising the quality of their lives as well. All of his staff lives up to the same high standards. Ilene and Tamara at the front desk are angels. Dr Bell is very compassionate to her patients and customers and Dr Lloyd, who has done numerous teeth cleanings/removals for us, is the best surgical vet around. To ice the cake, the best veterinary clinic also has the fairest pricing. In my experience around the country this is the best veterinary clinic by far. They have my undying gratitude, trust, and respect.

A small vet with people who really care about pets. We take both our cat and dog here. Our cat has gotten excellent care between both routine shots and allergies. Our dog has been extremely well cared for, especially after she was attacked by a much larger dog. They did an excellent job taking of her wounds, giving us recommendations for food, and answering all our questions about nursing her back to health. I got the impression that they care very much about each animal that comes in and are always willing to answer questions.

Took Diesel for her first visit, Turbo for a claw trimming. Two sadly overweight beagles. So know this - they are very, very good, caring, and know what they are doing but be sure to ASK about PRICES especially if you are on limited funds or fixed income!!! Their prices are very very fair. I could not sing their praises enough. The vet was super kind about everything, and gave samples of something that was needed which did save money. So yes, I highly recommend them. I do like them better than Village Vets but that is just my personal opinion. Hope this helps in any decision! I do repeat - they are fantastic and the wonderful vet that saw Turbo and Diesel gave me a follow up call and left a kind, caring message for me. You will really, really like them. You have my word!

Best visit to a vet we’ve had! We’ve been going to another clinic for a few years now but will be making the permanent switch here! The staff is extremely friendly, the doctors are very knowledgeable and take the time to really investigate and then explain what is going on with your pet. All our options were laid out to us very clearly. The prices are very reasonable and are accompanied by an explanation of each; nothing was forced on us. Definitely would recommend!

We had to take our sick cat for a dental appointment and were able to get in the next day. Dr. Katz is amazing and even called after hours to check on our Toby. Everyone followed COVID 19 guidelines. We love North Dekalb Vet! They have taken excellent care of all our pets over the past 15 years. We've had senior cats to a terminally ill dog to an eight-week-old puppy, and they have loved and cared for all of them. They will do everything in their power to take care of your babies. And when the time comes to send your beloved pet over the rainbow bridge, they do so with as much love and care as they have given your pets in the best of health. They share the hugs and tears under the happiest and saddest of circumstances. I wouldn't want to take our pets anywhere else.

For 10 plus years, Dr. Katz and his staff have taken wonderful care of me and my dogs. They are professional and compassionate when it comes to animals. After each visit or treatment there is always a follow up call to make sure everything is alright. When Angel (one of my dogs) was unable to walk, Dr. Katz's staff member arranged for my dog to be vaccinated in the parking lot, so Angel wouldn't be inconvenienced. That is the type of great service Dr. Katz and his staff deliver time and time again...Thank you so much!

North Dekalb Veterinary Clinic is the only place I would take my fur child to now. I went to 4 different clinics in a year, and they were the only ones to differentiate between hair ball hacks and chronic asthma. I had a rescue that was devastatingly ill at 5 weeks. I've never had a cat on my own and certainly not one that sick. Luckily, a few places were able to treat her initial illnesses BUT no one was willing to calm her down enough to listen to her lungs. Finally, someone at Lifeline's Thrift store suggested i take her to the take her to "The Cat Whisper" at North Dekalb. Kitti's not easily won over, but his patience with her was key. Now, she sees an another amazing doctor there that is able to provide tips to prevent episodes. Absolutely love everyone there. even their receptionists are helpful.

I was unexpectedly given a diagnosis of heart worm positive on my adopted dog. Of course, I was devastated. The entire staff took me and my sweet dog under wing and supported me throughout the process. My dog, Alvin, loves going there despite his history of treatment there. I have worked with Dr Bell and Dr Katz - for emergencies and for regular checkups. Both make me feel like Sylvi is the absolute most important patient in the world...and whatever care she needs, she will get. If she needs something beyond their expertise, they will make sure she has the right specialist. And the care doesn't end when she leaves. Both have called me after I've left - later that day as well as the next day - to check in on her and see how she's doing. I've had surgeons who haven't looked after me as thoroughly as they've looked after her. Sylvi is now 10 and over the years I've moved several times and she's seen several vets. I couldn't recommend anyone more highly than these folks. I put my child's life in their hands and they never let me down. There's no other vet that even comes close.

I brought my 10 year old dog in because he jumped off of a retaining wall in my backyard while chasing a ball. Although he didn't show it at the time, he had suffered an injury to his neck. By the next day, he was walking unsteadily and stumbling. Dr. Bell examined him and gave me a tentative diagnosis since he didn't have any obvious injury. I appreciated the way she tried to prepare me for a horrible possibility (brain tumor- he was really stumbling and his left side was very weak) or something not so horrible. She was conscious of cost and did not immediately go straight to the most expensive options (like x-rays) without really knowing what was wrong. In the end, he received a steroid to reduce inflammation and pain medication. Fortunately, it was just an injury and not a tumor. He started to show improvement soon after receiving the medication. She called to check on him. I feel that she was attentive and thorough and caring. He's doing fine now.

Dr. Katz is very personable and great with my dog. He takes the time to answer the many questions we have, never talks down to us, and doesn't make us feel rushed. Also he is cost conscious and suggests alternatives when possible. Highly recommend.

I have never had any trouble and I am on my fifth little dog, in fact Dr. Katz found the little dog I have now and she is so sweet to me and everybody she sees. I would rate this clinic a number 10.
