Reviews of MedVet Asheville
Valerie Robles
I was visiting Black Mountain from Charlotte and knew my 10yr old shepherd would not make the trip back home so we found MedVet. Everyone was so caring and gentle with how they provided information so that I could make an informed decision of what to do for Oso - I had never experienced such great care/transparency even when discussing the financial aspect of pet services. Even being in such an emotional state I was able to feel comfortable with the decision of putting him to sleep because everyone was loving and attentive to our needs.
When it came time to saying goodbye, I was surprised that they put us in a dedicated room that was specifically for these instances instead of keeping us in an exam room - which made for a much more peaceful experience. I’m so thankful for the care the MedVet staff provided for us.

I made two trips to MedVet with my little Schnauzer. Both times I felt the staff was amazing. They were caring and professional. They were awesome when I came to the realization that it was time to let him go. They have a private room and allow you as much time as you like to spend with your pet.
I highly recommend them for any of your emergencies.
Kristen Taylor
We’ve unfortunately had to go here twice with pet emergencies and they’ve been wonderful. So nice and friendly. They were fast and efficient. You can tell they really love your animals. That means a lot.
I’m glad I live so close. I hope we don’t have anymore emergencies but if we do, I won’t think twice about going here.
They helped keep our bill down by looking at other records and labs that we sent in instead of retesting. I really appreciate this.

The vet and entire staff were wonderful to us at a very sad time. My little friend had to leave us today, but they were so kind and gentle with her, and us. Thank you to Dr. Casey Wasselman (?) He showed compassion and consideration throughout.

My experience was really good this time. The last time (w/ a different dog) was really hard cuz the wait was like 12 hours. But Hank and I got very lucky and we were seen probably within the hour. The vet was super nice and took the time to talk to me and explain stuff. The front desk staff were also friendly and kind. I'm appreciative of them.

MedVet is amazing. Everyone was sweet to is as we had to rush my emotional support baby to relieve her of her suffering from cancer. Everyone took the time to explain to my son what was going to happen, what to prepare for and gave him full control of when it was time to release her for cremation. They went above and beyond to make this transition easier for us.

MedVet Asheville is a wonderful business which provides high quality emergency care for your pets. They were able to quickly identify how sick my dog was and help me stabilize her long enough to say goodbye before humanely euthanizing her. They did such a good job, and helped me in this completely unexpected situation. They gave me everything I needed and made the end of my dog's life peaceful and comfortable. Thanks, MedVet and Dr. Casey.

Our diabetic dog had a seizure on July 4th. We were rushed in and treated immediately. He was kept for observation and everyone was very generous with their time talking to me. He recovered with no complications.
Thank you to everyone who works so hard to keep our beloved pets healthy.

Our dog child became ill this past Thursday. He was vomiting early in the morning and suffered a collapse. We took him into his vet. At that time, they did blood work and looked him over thoroughly but could not find an outstanding issue. Later in the evening he had a 2 brief seizures. With our vet's office already closed we turned to Med Vet. Dr Hanes was amazing! She suggested x-rays and found the issue! He had a pneumonia likely due to aspiration. We feel that Dr. Hanes saved his life! He had to stay overnight for treatment and was sent home with all necessary meds and clear, concise instructions. Was it pricey? Yes, but so is the emergency room for humans. We are so grateful to all of the caring techs and nurses and particularly to Dr Hanes! Their expertise and care pulled our baby through. He is now recovering at home. Thank you so much!

My cat was dying. When we arrived, the technician took my cat immediately to the back. We filled out the paperwork for euthanasia. They brought us to a special room. Took very good care if us. This was on Easter Sunday morning at 4 am.
We were able to say good bye to my best friend.
This clinic took care of my cats remains and after cremation, returned him to us. I will go back with my dog if warranted.

My youngest dog woke up with a completely swollen face. I've never experienced this before with any of my dogs. I thought it would be a good idea to have her checked out, better safe than sorry! I took her to MedVet on a Sunday morning and had a great experience. I was only there for about 30-40 minutes total. The staff was friendly and very helpful! I was sent home with easy to follow instructions on how to make my pupper feel better. Thankful for the visit!

Brought my dog here tonight after he got into some stuff in the basement he shouldn’t have. Registration was a breeze, staff very friendly, and my dog was expertly taken care of. Even though we came at 2AM, the price was incredibly reasonable. More importantly, I felt my dog was loved and cared for as my own. Highly recommend.

We had to have our dog put down at the beginning of this month. Honestly I think everyone was wonderful my husband and MIL did think the vet came in too quickly to inject the medication but we do appreciate giving us a few more minutes with our precious old lady . Thank you so much for the paw print and having the most beautiful urn for her to be put in. 🤍

Dr. Jennifer Haynes was so kind to us. She really done a fantastic job. With the staff at Medvet we were able to save our little parvo pup ace.
April Briggs
Best vet clinic ever!!!! Only negative was the excessive fees. I had to drive an hour to the big city late at night for an emergency, and I'm so glad I found these guys. I suppose I'm used to small town prices. Still, I'm thankful for the support and attention the staff gave me, and for the affection the vet gave my pet, even getting down on the floor at her level. No other vet has ever done that.
Nancy Farley
They gave our fur baby the best care and treatment he needed with loving and caring attention. They called us at least twice a day to update us, since we were an hour and a half away, on his test results and condition. I wouldn't want to ever take a beloved furry family member anywhere else!
Debra Logsdon
Brought in a severely injured fur baby who was attacked by a much larger dog. The staff were very caring and made him comfortable in several ways and were honest about his survival chances. They gave us all the time we needed when the decision was made to put him to sleep because at age 12, his chances of surviving surgery were very slim.
Polly Palmer
We took our new puppy in to be examined after a fall. He was unconsolable and we were distraught. We called the office and they told us to come straight in. They immediately took him back as a priority, and the veterinarian checked thoroughly him all over. The exam took about 25 minutes or so, and he was given pain medication that we will continue to administer every eight hours. We were also given written instructions including symptoms to watch for. The late night visit and meds totalled $39.50. Our peace of mind is priceless. Thank you for the excellent and attentive care and service, MedVet staff. You're wonderful.
Sincerely,
Jeff and Polly Palmer

The staff is helpful, friendly and efficient. The details of my dog's care were explained fully, and I was given an accurate cost estimate. My dog received excellent care from Dr. Russell. I wish they were open 24/7!
Adam Sears
Super quick and courteous, they didn’t try to charge me more than they needed. Most importantly they took great care of my staffy. The facility is really nice and seems well equipped to handle any pet emergency. Definitely would recommend for urgent care.
Invisible Girl
Our visit to MedVet was, unfortunately, to euthanize our dog. She had cancer and began suffering terribly on Saturday. By Sunday, it became brutal to watch, and we decided not to make her wait until her regular vet was in on Monday.
The check in process was a bit jarring, as they remove the pet from your presence in order to place the IV line. I understand why this was necessary, but just wish ithe process had been explained in advance.
I did appreciate that they take you to a private room right away, and that they bring the dog to you as soon as possible.
We were able to spend time with her both before and after she was euthanized, which was comforting.
Afterwards, they removed her from the room and sent her with us in a box for cremation.
Everyone was kind to us. I would definitely visit again with our other pets in case of an emergency.

Open when my vet is not. Very caring and sweet to my little cat. Told me exactly what was going on with her - 104° fever with some sort of infection - and gave me treatment options. Contacted my vet the next day with her labs. Dr. Haynes was fantastic. The techs were great. I overheard them cooing over my cat when she was getting her blood drawn. Very sweet. It was rather expensive, but I understand that, too.
Len Burnell
Reception person was friendly, helpful and efficient. The nurse was concerned and also efficient. Dr. Ho was thorough, compassionate and also efficient. Rushing a pet to the ER is never fun. Without trying this staff was reassuring.
Meg Z.
I just went through one of the hardest things I've ever done, but it couldn't have happened at a more wonderful place. Both the vet tech and the doctor were so sympathetic and helpful through the whole process, from the moment we got there through everything up to the heartfelt card they sent afterward. The facility has such a respectful setup for spending your last moments with your beloved pet.
Joyce O'Neil
They were very kind to us as we said goodbye to our dog Max, and the same with another beloved pet a few years ago. They treated Max & Major with such compassion & gentleness.. and they gave us all the time we needed with them before and after.. RIP Our sweet Max and Major
Megan Waddell
Last night we had to take our 13 year old beloved dog Stella, and they were excellent and so kind the entire time. Sadly we had to make the call to say goodbye. They had a room that felt more like a living room than a vets office to say goodbye. Everyone was kind and let us take our time to say goodbye to our sweet girl. The vet made sure that we knew our options and made sure she was comfortable in her last moments. They had her all cozy when we had to say goodbye. We couldn’t have asked for a better and kinder group. Hopefully we don’t have to go back anytime soon, but they were so good to us and our sweet girl stella
Samantha Elliott
Everyone has been caring and supportive when we have needed them. The vets have been educational and happy to answer any questions. I feel great about the care my dog received and the discharge instructions were very clear.

My Fur Baby Bella was sick and took her to 3 vets paying them for test and was told they don't know what is wrong, all I know her blood work was off and she could not walk, I took her to Dr. Lee and She had Multiple Myeloma I thought she was going to die at 7 yrs old, that was about 3 week's ago today she is walking eating playing, she is on Chemo pills 5 day's off 16, predisdion and gabapentin for pain when she needs it. I am hoping she goes onto remission. Take your Fur Babies to MedVet they are wonderful and nice very caring.

I took my dog in on a Sunday in late September 2020 after he fell off a cliff while camping in Virginia. He wasn't showing any major symptoms but we needed him examined to have some peace of mind (re: internal injuries or other things to watch for) before driving home to Atlanta.
Having worked at an ER Vet for several years I understand the chaos and potential for delays when managing walk-ins of varying severity (and pets who may take time to cooperate, as I'm sure my dog did). I felt that Dr. Russell and her staff were communicative with me, taking the time to explain what was recommended. They gave me a realistic time frame and were able to stick with it. My partner and I were able to breathe a sigh of relief, enjoy a lunch in beautiful Asheville, and pick up our boy a few hours later. In our case they kept to the low end of the quoted estimate. The cost of care was more expensive than if we had waited another day or more to see our regular DVM, but we understand that emergency care is going to be more expensive.
We hope not to need them again, but drove away feeling better than when we pulled up. Thanks!

It late night. My wife little pup was in my arms going out before bed time. Then a rabbit jump out. And the pup jumped out of my arms to get that rascally rabbit. But in stead she hit the ground on her head. Tried to catch her but a little to sleepy. So when it as all over. Her back legs where not working at all. So I call MedVet and they got her in pretty quick after I got there. She was in there for a bit. The doctor called and ask me about what happened. She said at that time she was having some use of her back legs at that time. That was some good news. So she got some medicine and two weeks of R&R. like she needed it. All is good for now. Thanks for all the help. Well the pup is doing much better now. Still has a little weakness in her right back leg. But it's getting better. Thanks again
Derek Fowler
They got my cat in quickly when he had an emergency. They did great to get him treated and stabilized.
Angellia Gay
The Veterinarian took great care of our pup, she was caring and understanding we are not from the area so to have someone that really cares during a time when your pal is not feeling well makes you feel good. The place was clean and the staff was also helpful and kind. I would definitely use them again!

I am a physician boarded in 3 specialties and have rarely met a more professional team of expert veterinary providers. After being given a worst case prognosis by a local veterinarian, I contacted Med Vet and was amazed when two specialists saw my beloved Hamlet within 24 hours. They did a CT, biopsy and general anesthesia and kept me updated and informed throughout the entire process. Their communication was clear, professional and caring. I want to thank the entire team for helping alleviate my distress and most importantly for taking such wonderful care of Hamlet. Robert K. Stack, MD

MedVet Asheville was very busy today, we arrived at 9am for our first ever visit to an emergency vet. We were visiting Asheville from out of town when our pup had an eye incident that needed to be addressed before our 7 hour trip home.
Alanna was at the front desk and was so kind and accommodating. She was so busy, with all the people coming in and waiting, but she never made anyone feel like an inconvenience.
It was communicated upfront that the wait to be seen would be 4-6 hours because she was stable by the time we made it to the office. Our pup stayed and was observed for 4 hours. We were very pleased with the care and attention she was given. Hopefully we won't have to visit again, but if we have a problem when in Asheville, we would come here again without hesitation.

Remarkable service. My 4 year old pit-mix had some large, strange blister on the inside of his rear leg. It was the weekend and this was the closest 24hr Vet. I live over an hour away. The person on the phone told me to take pictures of the area and email it to them. They called back 15 minutes later, asked a few questions, and told me it was a bug bite and he'll be fine, but to follow up with my primary vet on Monday. Amazing. No charge. I'm speechless.
Samantha Hawkins
Over all the experience was good. They helped save Konas life after she fell from the top of a waterfall and broke her back in multiple spots. Thankfully, i called ahead and they had doctors on the spot waiting for kona when we got there and took her right back to the emergency spot. I feel like they took advantage of how attached i was to my dog. I was charged over $5,000 for 3 days in the ICU, no surgery or anything. I was charged for 8-10 xrays which seems excessive for 3 days. I was expected to pay thousands of dollars each of the 3 days i came and visited kona.
To summarize: if your dog is in a life and threatening condition, they are a great option if if you can afford the couple of thousand to spend.
Dora White
These are the best people I have ever dealt with I am very happy with them I don't want any sick animals but if I do I will be making a trip to Asheville I can't remember the lady that help me when I went back to pick up Miss Kitty but she is a treasure
Angel Kasten
Front desk was AMAZING. But vet assistant was very rude with me. Only one vet in office, sat me in a dirty room for over an hour only to not help treat a complication with my dog as I felt it was urgent. Ended up leaving because they did not warn me of the extensive wait time. Over a year ago my dog was hit by a car and they did phenomenal. Unfortunately this time was not that way.
Gregory Brooks
It was a wonderful experience they were so helpful and so knowledgeable and they made our fur baby Baylor feel so much better Thank you for everything you did medvet Asheville Baylor says thank you for that bowl of water you gave him cuz he said he was really thirsty
Barbie A. Clayton
The doctor and surgeon both were very compassionate and educated us on the best options for our little guy. I saw the tears in the surgeons eyes when we put down our little Goliath after the exploratory surgery discovered he was suffering and eaten up with intestinal cancer. Goliath went downhill rapidly and the staff here took great care of him. It was expensive and the payment was required upfront but they made every accommodation possible for us to hold him as he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. They handled him ever so delicately afterward too. You could tell they really cared about him as their own.
Rachel Sampica
We recently had to take our family dog that was my uncle and grandmother's to be put down. This place from the time I called until the day we went were awesome! They explained everything to us and were so compassionate from the time we stepped in until the time we left. I have nothing but great things to say about MedVet! Thank you all for your kindness and compassion.
Jacki Lewis
We had to bring my son's therapy cat to be put down, everyone at the office was very kind and understanding. They allowed us plenty of time to say our goodbyes, we were in a comfortable quiet room. The vet was kind and gentle and explained to my son what was going to happen
A Z
Helped my cat who nearly died. It was expensive, I knew it would be. Everyone was kind and explained everything well. They are very busy so it took several hours to be seen.

Our dog was bit by a copperhead while we were on vacation in Bryson City. The MedVet staff were helpful, compassionate, and knowledgeable. They treated our dog, kept her overnight, and discharged her back to us when they felt she was ready. They made our traumatic experience less scary and took good care of our baby.
Ruth Reed
We took our Great Dane in after a short illness. She was in obvious pain and it was time. From the minute we called to taking her in, telling her goodbye, even to picking up her remains, every single person was so kind and so compassionate! I have never been anyplace like it. My big girl was treated with all the love and care I myself would’ve given her. They were so very very kind. Everything was handled professionally but the kindness and the gentle way they handled every single bit of it was amazing!!! I was beyond impressed and knew that my girl got absolutely the best end of life care! You guys are awesome!!
Karen Tallent
MedVet was wonderful! They took such good care of our fur baby, and kept coming out to update us on his condition. From the moment we walked thru the front door, they were kind, caring, compassionate and very professional. So thankful we have this facility in our region! We highly recommend them.

Our bulldog Frank had been vomiting for 3 days and needed a trip to our vet. He was X-ray and found that he had something in his stomach, possible animal stuffing. Our vet recommended them. It was thanksgiving eve and no one would take him. After drop off we were called with options, surgery for the obstruction seemed best. The surgeon called us at 4 a.m. to let us know everything went well and that we could pick him up the day after thanksgiving. At pickup instructions were clear for his recovery. Frank just had his stitches out and doing fine. For all the people complaining about price or they are just concerned about money, you obviously have not owned a business. With their job I believe if they waited on folks to pay they would have been closed down along time ago. Yes they are expensive, supply and demand. I am not saying to make them your personal vet but if you pets life depends on it I believe they would do everything they can.

My cat ate something that he shouldn't have and he started to throw up and acting lethargic at 2 am. I called here around 3 am and I had a lady answer the phone and was able to tell me right away what my cat ate wasn't toxic and that he would be fine. They let me know that he was more than likely just experiencing an upset stomach. After a few hours, he did start to feel better and I think he just needed to get it out of his system. Thanks for what you do. I appreciate the ability to call so late.
Rae Bachman
The staff is very kind and makes sure to keep in touch. Every time I had called someone answered right away and was happy to help! The vet was very thorough with the examination and keeping you updated on what’s going on with your pet. I am so grateful for them helping me out with my pup.
The only thing I did not like was that I couldn’t go inside with my dog and talk to someone when you get there.
Sam Brown
They took care of my family member's cat after she had suffered smoke inhalation from a house fire. The family member was out of town at the time so I brought her in until family could get back into town to deal with things.
The COVID guidelines were unclear. I called when I arrived and pressed the appropriate button on the phone tree to alert them I had arrived with the pet. The phone rang for quite a while, was picked up, and I was immediately hung up on without a word. Yikes.
She was addressed quickly when I walked in with her after the phone experience. The clinic made things easy for me to drop her off on behalf of my family member.
Crystal Lanning
All the employees we encountered were wonderful to my dog, my husband, and myself! I highly recommend them when your pet has an emergency. Special thanks to Dr.Haines (forgive the spelling if it's wrong), she was great with my Diesel.
Karen F
The staff were friendly and caring. I think they did a wonderful job treating my cat's problem. BUT the place was not that busy and we were still there 3 hours. AND the charges were quite high, particularly for my cat's medicine. 11 pills for $70 and 3 pills for $30?? Totally ridiculous!
Paige B.
Do not hesitate to bring your pet here in an emergency. They truly care & do wonderful work. Just don't be surprised about payment. Just like the costs associated with a human medical emergency, there will be costs to care for your pet- and for most pet owners, this is a small price to pay to see them healthy again. They will do multiple payment methods. The doctors even called me with detailed updates on my sweet pup. They were courteous and skilled in their care. When you see them rushing & carrying animals into their building you will understand how I feel. Your pet will be in capable hands. Highly recommended.

I have now been to MedVet twice in the last week. While I originally gave the visit 5 stars, I feel that my experience at discharge yesterday made me a little more hesitant. My poor dog was incredibly uncomfortable after his surgical procedure and was near constantly attempting to scratch and fight his way out of his e-collar. I had to personally advocate on his behalf and request pain meds and a sedative - they were not going to be sent home with him. I can't believe that a dog so clearly uncomfortable wasn't going to be sent home with any sort of pain control. I think the team at MedVet has generally done a great job in my two visits, but the discharge process yesterday was not what I was expecting.
Brian King
Very knowledgeable and professional staff who seem to take the greatest of care with your fur baby. 24 hour on site care for emergencies as well. Glad they're here
Kitty perv
Came here Monday because cat was clearly in pain and distress. They got him in quickly and determined he needed immediate care. We got quick compassionate care and after two days there he is feeling much better. I would highly recommend in an emergency.
Mark Wall
I was thrilled that they could get my cat in to help diagnose her UTI issues. The vet was super nice and gave us some good recommendations. The overall experience time, waiting in the car, was acceptable for a Tuesday night surprise visit.
Linda Singleton
I was hesitant to go here due to my past negative experience with Reach. But, I'm thankful I went. I had to put my lab down unfortunately. She had been diagnosed with terminal cancer last year and had so many great days but unfortunately that day she couldn't walk and was very sick and I knew that it was time, I couldn't let her suffer. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do and they gave us our own private room and gsve us time with her and the vet was so kind and loving on her the whole time. It was probably the worst experience I've ever had as a pet owner but they made it the best it could be. I'm really thankful for that and then the opportunity that they gave me to have her cremations and her paw print made.
Angelina D
They are VERY, VERY busy @ night (and course, that's when my dog gets sick or has seizures) b/c that's when they have surgeries. It is the only night time ER in town so it's def busy! That's why there's a star off, but they are nice & will answer questions over the phone & they're always honest when I ask wait time with my dogs condition bc of surgeries & other critical ER situations in house at the time. Of course, people write they're expensive...it is. It's an after hours ER & it's expensive (sadly all of them)!
Amy Lynn
Our dog was hit by a truck last Sunday night and we came from Old Fort around 11pm to MedVet and they were absolutely amazing from start to finish. Kept in contact with us about every detail of our dogs care. We had a little miscommunication about the amount owed but it was soon figured out with no further issues. Thank you for caring about our furbaby as much as we do.
Rob Dura
We were visiting Ashville and had to put our 12 yr old buddy down due to heart failure. They were unbeleively compassionate and Casey made this terrible time the best it could have been for our family. Thank you again.
Marie Quillen
We came in thinking our 12yo bernese mountain dog was having some hip pain and were planning to get more joint medication and pain meds for him. We never imagined we would have to say goodbye that day. It turns out he had a tumor that was causing internal bleeding. They had a special room for goodbyes and when I was ready I pressed the button to call them in. They gave me as much time as I needed to tell him what a good boy he was and he drifted off peacefully. The staff was professional and comforting. They made my worst day as good as it could have been. Thank you MedVet for making my fur baby's last moments not so scary for him.
Rhonda Karg
My bulldog was seen there this week for some mild vomiting and lack of appetite x 2 days. She was acting fine, but just to be safe, my regular vet sent us directly to MedVet for an exam and to rule out an obstruction. An ultrasound was done and they weren’t sure what they were seeing — possibly food, possibly the stuffing from a dog toy. The MedVet vet talked me into keeping my bulldog overnight so they could give her fluids and an anti-nausea drug. An exam, two ultrasounds, and overnight stay was ~$2,000.
They quoted an additional $5,000+ for an exploratory surgery of her gut, so I was looking at a $7,000+ bill for a bulldog who threw up 3x and didn’t want to eat for 2 days. I would have come up with the money somehow because my bulldog is like a child. I think emergency vet hospitals take advantage of this special bond, knowing you will beg, borrow, or steal to save your pet’s life.
Fortunately, the surgery wasn’t needed bc she was fine the next morning. It turns out the “obstruction” and “bloat” (air) was actually from food in her stomach, which she digested overnight. So 5 stars for a very, very happy ending, and 1 star for price gouging.

Top Notch staff. Super FRIENDLY ! We had a pretty big emergency after hours and the veterinarians here went immediately to work and took care of our Boston Terrier "Honey" quickly and professionally. A big shout out to Brandi in the office dept there, she really went out of her way to accommodate our needs. Thank You Med Vet. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

They were wonderful people. We were scared we were going to lose a puppy. Had to sit in vehicle all night because worse emergencies came in. But when I kept calling every so often to check on our little one, they brought out a phone so we could see our selves that how our pup was doing. And she was a lot better than when we first got there. When the vet was finally able to see her to figure out what happened to her he called as promised. They took really great care of our little 6week old pup. I would recommend them as one of the places to take your fur babies to.

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to MedVet of Asheville. Twice in the last few years, the 2nd being last week we have lost our 2 dogs, our fur babies in the middle of the night. They were so kind, compassionate and loving. They made the transition from pain to peace one of love, warmth and the steadfast care. They placed our baby in a special grieving room where we said our goodbyes in silence surrounded by blankets, tissues, and low lighting. They cried with us. Held our hands and we said goodbye to our loyal, faithful companions. I don't know what we would have done without them. There was no pressure to hurry out. They let us take our time hugging, petting, kissing and cuddling our babies until their last peaceful breath. They made sure she didn't experience pain in the end. They so carefully carried her to us and never waivered in their compassion. I strongly recommend MetVet for all pet emergencies and as a beautiful place to say goodbye when need be. They are incredible human beings and I could never say thank you enough. You made us feel at home and made sure we knew that she was going to be okay. They had her privately cremated and we received her ashes and pawprint today. A beautiful carved wooden box to have her forever. Thank you MedVet. Your team are the real MVPs. I can't imagine re-living this experience day in and day out. I can't comprehend the strength it takes to care for these fur family members and the heartache when they have reached their ends. They are incredible. Thank you. Forever. Thank. You.

MedVet was fantastic. They took care of my dog Daisy May like Daisy was one of their own. They kept informed me that where she was what they were doing how she was doing during her time there during the time of the operation and during her recovery there at the hospital. These folks are great they will take care of your pets with no problems they're very concerning people they're very loving people and they're very kind people from the lady who answers the phone to the people who come out to get the dogs to the doctors who actually do the surgery. I hope you won't have to use these people in an emergency but if you do they would be the ones that I would go to and they'll be the ones that all continue using. Thanks again for all your kindness and thanks again for all your hard work with Daisy May. May God bless you all

My 17 year old beloved terrier mix began panting and screaming at about 5 pm on New Year's Day. After several months of knowing her end was near it was obvious that this was her time. I went online to find an open vet and rushed her to REACH. The parking lot was full and I feared a long wait with my dog in horrible distress. Not wanting to bring my screaming dog into a waiting room of already distressed animals and owners my sister ran in and a tech rushed out, took her from me and back into the treatment area. We could still hear her from the reception area so know that she had been immediately sedated during the time I was registering and paying. This clerical task took only a couple minutes and I was surprised at the cost for euthanasia and cremation - only $198, even though she apologized that the price included a premium because of the holiday. They immediately took us back to a room where we could sit with her until they helped her pass.
I have never left a review before but am so grateful to REACH and its compassionate staff for attending to my dog so quickly that I felt I should. From reading the negative reviews I wonder if I would have had a different experience if I had had a payment issue or of course if we has been forced to wait (that would have been the worst kind of torture for both me and my sweet pooch). As it was I couldn't have been more impressed. Everyone we came in contact with was so kind and I cant think of a single thing that they could have done to make a sad sad time better over and above what they did do for us. Thank you so much everyone on staff the evening of 1/1/20!

Wonderful service!
Such a professional and caring team. From the initial phone call speaking to Laura who was very supportive and gave excellent advice, Jen who checked in/out my pup Mosley and provided information regarding the visit ensuring I understood everything in a personable manner and patience.
The Dr’s call (sorry I missed her name) who asked questions and gave reassuring options regarding “potential” issues vs symptomatic issues. This team provide excellent care in an extremely professional and personable manner, I highly recommend their service. Thanks everyone, Mosley is doing much better today👍

We brought our sweet and very loved 17 year old cat in the other night when his condition deteriorated rapidly. He was seen and diagnosed promptly. Unfortunately there was nothing that could be done to keep him with us unless we were willing to subject him to frequent and invasive medical procedures. It was his time to move on to his next adventure and MedVet helped to facilitate his passing as gently and compassionately as possible. It is never easy to say goodbye but we were able to sit with him and surround him with love as he drifted off. I believe we were offered the best possible care given the circumstances and our options were made clear to us throughout the process.

I’ve had several experiences with MedVet (formerly Reach) ranging from “pretty not great” to “appallingly deplorable”. I had a great experience with them yesterday when my sketchy border collie injected toxins and/or plastic causing a blockage. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable and took great care of her (which isn’t always easy- she’s a unique character). The tech who brought her back out to my car was able to pet her and I can count on one hand the number of people she allows to pet her. The tech also told me that they are really trying to turn things around and make sure there are lower wait times and better communication. I appreciate the efforts they are making for everyone but especially for my Gemma. Thanks MedVet!

If you have a sick/injured pet that requires immediate attention, I would highly recommend MedVet. At 9pm on a Friday night, I was racing to their facility and saying my goodbyes to my 9 week old puppy. I was pretty certain that was the last time I'd see her alive.
But at about 1:00 AM we were are our way to pick her up as she was being discharged and was recovering well. In those 4 hours, I received 5 calls from her Vet. He was kind, compassionate and he kept us updated every step of the way. I also didn't get the feeling that he was just tacking on charges, unnecessarily. Honestly, it's the best $359.00 I've ever spent. Way to go, MedVet! Thank you for all you've done for my family.

They took care of our girl, but it took way longer than in the past. An hour drive to get there, five hours waiting and hour drive back home. I am thankful they are there and again they took good care of our baby. We never waited as long before when the lobby was open. When you sit in the parking lot for hours with no updates it is a bit frustrating though.

Had to say goodbye to my baby here, only 4 years old. It was very sudden and extremely hard but everyone here (especially Dr. Weisselman) made the process as easy as they could with their compassionate care. They were willing to talk with me with detailed updates no matter the hour, and they continually went above and beyond with her difficult situation. I can’t say how kind they were, and her euthanasia was as gentle and peaceful as it could’ve been. I’m so grateful they were here for us and my baby. Thank you all!

I'll be honest, it took almost 4 hours for my dog's emergency visit so be ready to wait. I fully expected this due to the current pandemic requirements and they also informed me of how to stay the most comfortable in the car while I waited. I went alone at 3am for a possible head trauma. The parking lot is very well lit and feels safe. They have 2 porta-johns outside for guests to use and update you via phone call. Everyone I spoke to was INCREDIBLY nice and polite. Thank you to the nurses and vets who staff this place overnight!

Took my dog here after he was attacked at the dog park. He was bleeding pretty severely from his ear. He was taken back fairly quickly and they updated me when I called. I was told he was given a nose to tail exam to make sure there were no other wounds than the one of his ear. I was told the doctor check his neck and face because I was concerned there might be wounds there as well. I was assured that he was thoroughly checked and that the only wound was on his ear. They treated his single ear wound and gave me a care plan which I followed. However, once I took the bandages off and was washing some of the crusty stuff off of his ear I found two more wounds on his ear, and 5 more wounds on his neck. They were not insubstantial wounds, and I was assured multiple times by the vet that the only wound was the single one on his ear. Unacceptable oversight and I feel as though I had been lied to about the vet actually checking his neck. I called them when I found this and the person who answered the phone seemed concerned about it as well, and told me that she would be contacting the medical director about that. The clinician my dog had was Eric Meyer.

We've had to use Medvet emergency vet several times in the last 10 years living here. Although it can be expensive depending on your fur babies needs I am so happy to have them there for emergency services 24 hrs a day. They are the only vet open after 10pm on weekdays and open all weekend. The only reason I give them 4 stars and not 5 stars is becuase they quit seeing ferrets and other exotic animals of which they used to see. Our ferrets have emergencies too!

I would like to thank the staff and Drs at Med Vet for taking such good care of my baby. From the first phone call up until the time she was discharged everyone was very caring and professional. When I handed her over I felt that she was in good hands. She is now doing well and I thank you all. Hopefully we won’t but if we ever need emergency care again we won’t hesitate to go to Med Vet. The visit was also very affordable.

Our 12 yr old Stella went downhill fast after her cancer diagnosis. We thought we had more time but while in Highlands, NC, she stopped eating and drinking. It was time. I tried to find a local vet who would euthanize her but our only option was the 1.5 hour drive to Medvet Asheville. I called once to see how the procedure worked and if they could take her, and again the next day to confirm they could take care; they could. I drove with Stella for 1.5 hours to Medvet, they were very responsive and professional, they took us right away, took great care of Stella, and they have a lovely room where she and I spent our last moments. We'll miss Stella but Medvet was a blessing for her.

It is quite a long story as to how I ended up here. But basically after a unbelievably unprofessional clinic canceled my appointment after I traveled a hour and a half to get there. I found my way here and I am so thankful I did. When I got there the place was quite busy and this is around 11:30 at night. The staff was very professional and friendly. They figured out what was wrong with Louie my English Bulldog after two other Vets could not. The tech that brought him out to me when finished was incredible. They sent me home with medication prescriptions and instructions and Louie is feeling so much better. I was actually shocked about how reasonable the prices were especially for being so late at night. Even though I live in Highlands North Carolina if I ever have anything happen again I will come here with out hesitation.

We ended up at MedVet because our Doberman was very sick with a bowel blockage and needed surgery. The MedVet staff was friendly, responsive and most importantly helpful in getting our dog diagnosed and seen quickly. They gave him fluids overnight so he would be prepped for surgery first thing in the morning. The surgeons spent a lot of time on the phone explaining the situation and allowing time for my questions. Thanks to their expertise and intervention our dog is home and recovered from this ordeal. Thank you to the MedVet team for saving our guy's life!!

The situation was desperate. I'm from out of town. I called them from the road to let them know my dog was overheating and that they needed to have oxygen ready. Without their quick thinking and fast action, my dog would have probably not made it. A trip to a vet ER is always bad and always expensive. The staff made the experience as good as possible. They were attentive, took all the time I needed, returned phone calls, and kept me informed. The cost was reasonable and expected. The care they took with my dog was top-notch. My dog's outcome was good. I am forever grateful.

Absolutely wonderful, caring, dedicated staff and the vet specialists are beyond awesome! They saved my precious chihuahua's life and never gave up. ❤️🙏 …

They were very compassionate during both visits. This last time they had to keep one of our fur babies overnight. They were very understanding with the fact that it was our first time being without her overnight so they provided us with multiple updates throughout the night.

Friendly and helpful staff. Took great care of our 3 dogs who were sick.

We had an exceptional experience with REACH. All of the staff members were friendly and communicative with us, and very loving with our dog. The vet we worked with, Dr. Wood, was patient, understanding, and straightforward with us, and was an outstanding surgeon when our dog went in for surgery. We never felt rushed or talked down to; Dr. Wood took time to carefully explain to us what was happening in language we could understand. When we brought our dog back in for a follow-up visit, she couldn't wait to get back inside to see the doctors and nurses again. We are so grateful to the doctors and staff for the care we all (human and dog) received at REACH.

These folks seemed to truly care about animals when I brought in a cat that I thought was mine. My cat had been missing for some time and I got a call about one found at the Asheville mall. I picked the cat up and was fully convinced he was mine by how much it acted and appeared to be mine. The cat needed medical attention, I could tell it had been hit or something was severely wrong not to mention I needed to have him scanned for the chip that my cat would have had. Sadly, I was let down after these wonderful people scanned for the chip and none were found. They still went into saving mode and continued to care for the cat as humanely as possible. I am not aware of the outcome of the cat's life as I had to remove myself from that situation due to the traumatic nature of the situation and my love for animals. But I can give the facility an A+ on the level of concern and care right from the first interactions on the telephone regarding g whether or not they could help us.

They’re fine in general, just be prepared to wait a very very very long time. We brought in our dog at 930am for an infection and we’re still waiting to get her back at 230pm. You can leave and do errands while you wait, but when they call you and tell you to come back for discharge don’t think you’re going to get your pet back then and there, you’re still going to have to wait 1-2hrs just for the discharging

It is hard to write an honest review when your heart is aching and broken from losing your best friend. But people in this world are quick to write negative reviews and forget to leave positive.
Scout was our 6 year large mix breed dog that was full of character, personality, love and support. A week prior to our loss Scout had TPLO surgery at a different facility in Asheville. He came home the next day and was never the same. It wasn't for a few days that we realized he needed to be seen right away as he was quickly worsening.
Our local vet arranged for us to get him to MedVet and be admitted. From the initial call and interaction, they were very sympathetic to my nerves and fears about his condition. It was necessary for him to be treated and monitored overnight and they very quickly worked up a treatment plan, discussed that plan with me for my approval and proceeded with said plan.
They were upfront about the costs and also told me I was welcome to call at any time day or night to check on my buddy and see how he was doing. And I did. There were a few calls from the Vet to discuss his findings, but I also called two separate times just to ask how he was and be reassured he was not in any pain. Every phone call was met with a kind, empathetic voice who truly took the time to find the answer to my question. I didn't just get "Oh yes Mrs. Kuspa, he is doing fine still." Instead I was met with a "Let me check in with his care team and get an accurate update" and they came back with details.
Scouts conditioned worsened overnight despite their efforts and the prognosis was not fair for our Scout to continue. He wouldn't be able to leave the ICU and would need around the clock care. We had to make the difficult decision to let our friend go.
As you can imagine, trying to stay calm and not display emotion is impossible during this situation but EVERYONE was so understanding. Alana offered to send me a picture of my boy, and though he looked so sad and not like himself, I was so grateful that she offered to do that for me. It confirmed in my heart that I had to be there for him as he went.
During COVID times it is hard to accommodate families coming in and out, but they did. They didn't rush us and let us take all the time we needed to say goodbye to our best bud. I sat and laid with my 120 lb friend, comforted him and loved on him as he laid against me.
There is a gentleman who works at the front desk named CR and he was so kind, so gentle, so understanding ... He made a love clay paw print of Scout for me to bring home, brought us his harness and expressed his condolences again as did the Vet.
I don't know how these employees do their job, but I am so grateful for them. Did we receive the outcome we were hoping for? No, we certainly didn't. But, I believe wholeheartedly they did everything right and as best they could for Scout.
Thank you MedVet & Scout's Care Team for all your help, assistance and understanding. We are grateful for you all that you have the heart, knowledge and experience to do what you do. I just hope and pray you have more happy endings than sad ones.

Everyone I came in contact with was very professional and beyond kind. They took their time giving my dog the best of care and then explaining our options. Highly recommend.

I went there because of my Husky Mix, she was very scared and not being able to go in with her made things more difficult, The staff there were fantastic, They worked with us to take her inside and were very patient and caring. After they got results they gave us options that were available. We drove almost two hours to get there from where we live. It was well worth the time. We saw them handling serval dogs with care and concern for their well being.I would go there all over again, I want to thank the staff.

We had to take our German Shepherd on Easter last weekend because we suspected a blockage. Turns out, blockage. The staff was wonderful to us, the precautions they had to take to protect everyone made their jobs harder despite doing a fabulous job. We were very clearly told what needed to happen for her emergency surgery and the surgeon called us prior to go over all scenarios with us. He was kind enough to call after to tell us how everything went! Recovery instructions couldn’t have been explained better! Not that I want my dog to need any more emergency services done, but I know exactly where to go if that happens with any of my fur babies. Thank you guys for everything!

Dr Wesselman and staff were wonderful in addressing our doggo's emergency! They were prompt, friendly, attentive, and kept me updated. Dr. Wesselman offered treatment options and worked with me to make a plan of care. I highly recommend them!

I had 3 of my advanced tumor ratties euthanized here today and I'm very pleased with the service. They had good covid precautions in place so staff came to my vehicle, and they were still very attentive and compassionate. The girl who made my memorial print (Beth?) was especially nice and supportive. This vet recently changed from REACH to Medvet so this was my first visit here, and I'm not sure if they still do pro bono emergency euthanasia but they were affordable for this visit. Would definitely recommend!

Some of the reviews were scary but we couldn't find a vet with an open slot to see our dog same day, so we came here anyway. We waited about 3 hours for them to bring her back out to the car, in the meantime we went to town and ran some errands. The only strange part was having to explain what happened to the dog three times to three different people, I guess they didn't take notes or pass them along to others who were checking on her. I did call to check on her a couple hours in and they reported she was comfortable and mostly relaxed, just looking around to see what was going on around her. I felt like they cared for her well and the cost wasn't over what we expected, about $150 for the visit and 2 bottles of meds.

My baby kitten got head trauma and I took her to REACH as it was the middle of the night and they were the only ones open. They did require an immediate $650 for life support purposes, but as she needed to be put down, they refunded all the money that was not put toward her short care there.
They were incredibly helpful with the process of putting her to sleep, they have many options for aftercare such as cremation, free paw prints, a lock of hair, etc. They were so kind and considerate and made us very comfortable during the process. I want to thank the staff profusely for how helpful and loving they were.

My pup had two scary situations during times his primary vet, and other general vet specialists were closed. SO grateful reach was able to take him in and tend to his wounds. One situation involved a rattle snake. Bite. the doctors and staff were able to give him 24-hour observation and care. They even called me and allowed me to call during late hours of the night (12 am 1 am etc) to keep me informed with how he was doing. They treated his injury, pain, and anxiety. (Not to mention my own anxiety. They were very patient with my questions and concerns). By the time he was released from ICU he had befriended the staff and was kissing everyone, which was all the more comforting to see. Incredibly grateful.

I can’t say enough about all the staff I met during my visit today. Not only was the care my cat received exceptional (for a small virus), but the veterinarian was very kind, patient, and made sure I was comfortable with the treatment plan without doing extra procedures. All of the vet techs I interacted with could not have been more helpful as well as the receptionists. I was very, very impressed with the whole facility and it’s such a relief to know the only 24 hour vet is really exemplary care.

I am still blown away by the quality of care my dog Toa received this afternoon at MedVet. I didn't catch the names of the vet or vet techs I interacted with, but both were warm, listened attentively, and were extremely helpful and informative. Toa doesn't often do very well at the vet, but the staff here were so sweet to her that I think she felt extremely calm and was on great behavior, according to the vet tech who so nicely came to check in and give updates. While they could have just sent me home with some antibiotics to treat the swelling in her leg, the doctor called to ask if he could run some labs before administering the meds, just to make sure there would be no complications with her organs, and asked for my permission to send the aspirated fluid in to make sure there was no bigger issue happening. The discharge instructions they sent me home with were very clear and detailed. Ok, I'm done fan-boying, but I am so thankful for the experience and care we received. Thank y'all so much!

Just the other day, my 6 month old pup ran in to the road and got hit by a car. It was an awful experience. He was able to still walk but had some blood from his mouth and I was concerned about internal bleeding and my normal vet was closed so I took him to REACH. I was distraught by witnessing my pup get hit, but I called them to let them know I was on my way. Cindy told me to come in and drive safe and try to remain calm. She and everyone there was very compassionate. We was quickly seen when we arrived. The Vet Tech, Alex, and Dr. Bentley was very thorough in the examinations. By a miracle my pup didn’t haven’t any major injuries. An ER Exam was way cheaper than I thought it would be from what I’ve heard.
P.S
I encourage any body that has a dog to look into it and get Pet insurance! It only takes an moment for an accident to happen and for the cost to be expensive! I got lucky, but I have pet insurance for when accidents and emergencies like this happen!

I was there Monday night at 12 .00 AM. Everyone there were so very nice and helpful. Thank God they were open, my dog is doing great. Thank you all. 😊 …

They had our Lucy for 2 days she was in critical condition when she arrived from a dental procedure ultimately we lost our Lucy but they communicated very well while there. They did everything they could she arrived with a WBC of 49,000 but soon got it down after IV antibiotics was given(which the vet who done the dental work should gave done in his office before leaving) staff was very thoughtful and caring. We appreciate the care you gave our baby while there. Love the footprint you gave us! ❤💔

My regular Vet, Dr. Sara Brown, referred me to Reach. My cat was in for 5 days. While the news was not what any of us wanted to hear, the staff was very kind and understanding. I was able to visit anytime and was warmly welcomed by all of the staff. They were able to stabilize my cat and she is home. The follow up by the staff and doctors has also been great.

Wonderful experience. Thank you Kim for everything and all your kind words and help and reassurance. We felt so scared about our puppy Bear limping - they got us in within a very reasonable time period and are also practicing safe COVID policies to keep everyone safe which we appreciate so much. I wish I could remember the nurse and the doctors names because we are grateful for you both as well. We truly can’t say thank you enough for the level of care and concern and the patience you all took to explain everything to us. Thank you!!!!

My dog got hurt in the early hours of the morning. I brought him out here to the office at 4:30 in the morning and these folks could not have been any nicer. They were quick to get him in and get him some pain control. Thankfully his injury was not major. They were very thorough compassionate and very patient both in his care and explaining to me the care he needs at home. I could not be more pleased or grateful

The team and staff at MedVet are nothing short of amazing. They took in and treated our pup Rylynn and were super helpful in guiding us in the ways to get her healed and recovered. They were so sweet and excited to see her whenever we brought her in. Dr. Silliman really knew how to talk us through everything with great care and detail. You could tell they truly cared and bonded with our pup which meant the world to us. Thanks again team!

A big thanks to the staff at REACH. We brought our dog in after she ate rat poison. The staff and vet were extremely nice, patient, and caring. We were seen immediately and our dog was well cared for. We got a prompt estimate and a clear explanation of the treatment and her medications. Amazing hospital. I hope I never have to come here again, but if I do, I know my pets are in good hands ❤️🐶

Had my dog taken in as a emergency. She got into rat poison and was in desperate need of care. They took there time to help me and figure out what she needed. I don’t understand the negative reviews, all I can say is we received the best care for a very reasonable price. Staff was very friendly and patient with me. Thanks again to Drs Lindheimer and Ulke as well as Stephanie for your friendly service and for getting my dog back to normal.

I had to put to sleep my best friend Melody, she was 12.5 years old. It was a Saturday and my poor babies health declined so drastically and quickly, she was in pain and I had to do something quick. Her whole life Melody was always anxious at vets. I put my faith in MedVet and sweet Melody couldn't have been in better hands. Melody was treated with the upmost compassion as was myself (who was an absolute emotional mess) and my significant other.
They made the transition for my sweet baby as peaceful as I ever could have hoped for. Thank you MedVet for taking such care of my sweet Angel. I wish I remembered the specific names of the staff who helped us but you were all just so lovely. Bless you all.

On Thu 11/21 my 15 yr old sweet girl began her dying process, I called my regular Vet office, but got their answering machine stating they were closed on a day and time they should have been open...I called twice.
I was familiar with the poor reviews of Reach and was reluctant to bring her there. I have been a client in the past and yes, my first encounter with them for a medical emergency at 3 am with a hemorrhaging canine was about money and I was definitely upset at the process while my dog continued to rectally bleed. That was 13 yrs ago and my dog survived and the bill was nearly a grand. Had several more encounters for various issues including a specialty surgery that was only performed by a Vet at this hospital...expensive, but it brought relief and a few more good years to a rescue with multiple health issues.
As for yesterday, I brought my sweetheart in with trepidation and was met with nothing but kindness, understanding, quick attention and incredible compassion. I don't remember the name of the woman at the front desk, but thank you for your amazing compassion and calming presence, I am deeply appreciative. The Vet tech who spent time with me in the private room waiting for my pup to begin her ending....your time, kind words and patience meant the world to me; and to Dr Farikas? who eased my pup to her end, thank you for your kindness and sweet demeanor. I've been through this process 7 times over the years, and though I'm older, wiser, and believed I was ready for Ella's end...it hit me with a crushing sense of grief anyway. I wanted Reach to know how thankful and grateful I am for their care during our process of parting.

Excellent service. Excellent care for my Cat Sid. Thank you to everyone I worked with.

I know MedVet has had a bit of a reputation for bad experiences and expensive bills but that was not my experience at all. We had an amazing experience that went above and beyond. Here’s our story.
At seven months old and 70 pounds my puppy injured a ligament in his knee. My amazing GP (Dr Kevin Pflaum) referred him to a very well-known and well respected orthopedic surgeon in town who told us to do what they usually do with dogs of his age and wait for him to develop more and manage with pain meds, sedatives and crate rest until then, so we did, but our boy seemed to be getting worse. With a sense of urgency our vet reached out to the surgeon again to explain the situation was worsening but again we were told to just wait. Unhappy with that answer he consulted with another very well reputed orthopedic surgeon who again told us to just wait. So, we waited more and our boy continued to worsen.
Then, one day, our vet called and said “Hey, there’s a surgeon named Dr Guevara at Med Vet and he can see you guys today! I think you should go now if you can!” Our first thought was “Ugh, Med Vet” but we dropped everything and went. He was the first surgeon that would even put hands on our puppy. Sure enough, he agreed with the diagnosis and recommended surgery. He also agreed that the situation was urgent and he needed surgery ASAP but he wasn’t mature enough for the standard surgery so he recommended doing one that no one else had even mentioned to us. A surgery specific to a puppy of his age and condition.
As someone who works in the veterinary profession I began to ask around about this doctor and heard nothing but amazing things from current and past colleagues so we booked the surgery.
Today I’m happy to say Dr. Guevara called and reported a successful surgery and he expects a complete recovery.
Through the entire process, Dr. Guevara was professional, confident, and worked with us to find a solution to an urgent problem that no one else seemed willing to address and at a cost that was on par or cheaper than the other surgeons we spoke with.
All I have left to say is thank you to the team at Med Vet for helping our puppy and going far above and beyond for us today.

I have never been around a more compassionate Vet than Dr. Hawkins. She treated us with kindness and respect, more than our own vet who had been taking care of our dog. She explained all of our options, both good and bad. She walked us through every procedure they were going to do and fully explained the results. Although we left without our precious baby, they made sure we were taken care of. We were allowed to be with our girl before, during, and after she passed.
I will never hesitate to take another animal to REACH.

We were there today,Oct. 22, 2020, for our cat Lily. They greeted us promptly ask questions and everything was explained. We were there for the oncology department, for we suspected our cat had cancer. Dr. Ben Lee the oncologist was excellent. He came out to speak to us on what he found from his exam on Lily and recommendations We did decide to run some tests and do a biopsy. Dr. Lee guided us through a very difficult situation for our precious Lily has several different cancers. I thought prices were very fair. We were given and emailed diagnosis assessment, medication instructions, recommendations, follow up statement as well as costs of services. I was impressed with the guidance, compassion and services we received today by Dr. Lee and team members. I would definitely recommend MedVet of Asheville.

Top notch staff and vets. It is an emergency center so the most critical animals get treated first .. As it should be

My dog was attacked by a neighbor’s aggressive dog and this was the only place that had availability.
They took care of my dog and he genuinely enjoyed going back for the multiple visits I had to bring him there for. They were kind and compassionate. It’s expensive, but I’ll pay any price to help my dog.
As everyone else has said, the wait times are ridiculous - despite my dog having a gaping wound, it took over an hour to get into one of the rooms. Such is life.

My Lucy got stuck by a truck Sunday morning and I rushed her to MedVet because she isn't just a dog she is a child in her own way. I arrived they immediately came and got her doctor called me in about 10 to 15 minutes with the plan and she got started. So thankful and blessed she has only a few staples and bruises and skint places. Thank you doctor and all the staff for taking such great care of her.

I was visiting Asheville when my dog got randomly sick at around midnight. I decided to wait til the morning to bring him in, in case it passed on it’s own. They were so helpful and didn’t think twice about my dog being a pit bull and weren’t afraid of him. Instead they were patient and understanding when he was nervous and that was the first time a vet treated him that way. They also gave him great quality medical care and all of the staff was friendly and helpful. They were also patient and understanding with me and talked with me every time I called after the visit, which was about twice a day for a few days. Thank you Reach!! Happy to report Cricket is feeling better!

Just at the beginning our first COVID my little boy went into distress. My vets after hours referred me to this office. I came from Franklin, petrified of what might be the problem with my baby. (Folks that are not like us don’t get our feelings for our family). I explained what was going on, they took my little boy inside. After a couple hrs they explained what was wrong with him. Needless to say he spent two days(one at my request) in the ICU. I took him home with a bunch of meds but all was well in the end. We all love our babies like family, in my case more than family. I hope I never need their services but if I do I know where to go.

Reach was absolutely amazing with my dog. He had to have a very serious surgery dealing with his spinal cord, neck , etc. The surgeon called after every procedure and every examination was done to let me in on the details and how My dog was feeling. He and The rest of the staff at reach communicated very well with me. He did an excellent job and everybody there did an excellent job in the care of my dog. He is feeling better now and happy and healthy. Although the surgery was an expensive one but that is to be expected at any type of emergency hospital for human or animals. I just thank God at that time I was able to afford it and I'm lucky enough to have an emergency animal hospital like reach close by that employs such great people.

My dog had a herniated C2-C3 disc and was MISERABLE. I had never seen her so depressed, not wanting to play, waking me up in the middle of the night yelping and howling in pain, and she wouldn't even allow me to touch her. It was like the life had been sucked out of her. She couldn't go from lying to sitting or sitting to standing without help. She didn't even want to eat....and when a hound dog declines food you know something's wrong. We tried medical treatment for a week and a half without any improvement, so we went forward with a ventral slot surgery to cut away the herniated disc, performed by Dr. Wood. Before the surgery he was very thorough in explaining exactly how the surgery would go and what to expect. On surgery day he called me every step of the way to update me on her progress, after the myelogram, after the surgery, etc. They encouraged me to come visit her after surgery which really meant a lot to me to be able to see her while she stayed overnight. His staff was incredibly kind and supportive as well throughout the process. And I even got REFUNDED some of the money I had put down on my credit card after all was said and done. We're not even a week out from surgery and Avery is 100% back to normal. Tail wagging, begging for table scraps, nuzzling up for cuddles, and trying to play with her siblings. I could not be happier with going forward with the surgery and with choosing Dr. Wood and REACH. I cannot recommend them enough!

My precious baby had to be euthanized. Gizmo was 17 and we were worried that he would be in more pain if we waited until out vet was open. It is truly one of the worst experiences of my life. However, the staff at Reach were kind and compassionate. We had called ahead, so they were expecting us. We were ushered into a lovely, private room and we're able to spend time with Gizmo. The transaction was done privately too, which I thought was very kind and thoughtful. Gizmo passed gently and was prepared for us to take home. My only thought would be that it would be nice if there was a separate exit as we felt bad walking past the other patients, crying and holding Gizmos box. I am so grateful to you, Reach. Thank you.

We were visiting from out of town and went in for a minor suture removal. Our dog had surgery the previous week and the suture was irritating his eye. We were greeted well at the door and had a bit of a wait (~20-30 mins) but it was a slow Monday morning. We cannot say enough good things about the vet tech, Sharon! She was so warm, friendly, and proactive with our dog's care. The visiting ophthalmologist, Dr. Bell, looked at our dog and removed the suture quickly and easily, with very little stress on our dog. We are so appreciative to Sharon, Dr. Bell and the remainder of the staff for a great, easy visit.

I was very nervous about having to go to reach with my dog a few weeks ago. I called 3 or 4 times with questions, the ladies who answered the phone were very polite and helpful. Stephanie met me at the door to help me get in and gave love to my fur baby who was very anxious about being there around other animals. Laura took him to the back to make sure he was stable I could tell she was concerned about my boys health. Overall I spent about 3 hours here but I understand it’s on emergency basis. I witnessed quite a few families get upset with the front desk about their wait time but the ladies up there explained to them very professionally the reasoning for there wait. Techs Tunner and Mckel were very friendly and great at breaking things I didn’t understand down for me. It was a little more pricey than my regular vet in Burnsville. I thank Reach for helping my boy out and all of their great staff members!

Professional staff. Very kind and compassionate. Thorough in their assessment.

I took my dog there for surgery with Dr. Wood and he was a great vet. He explained every part of the procedure, what I could expect, what was typical and what could go wrong. I felt very informed going into the surgery. After surgery Dr. Wood followed up with me several times to check on my dog as well as go over some additional testing we did months later. I would not hesitate recommending this practice.

I couldn't be more impressed with Reach. In the last 48 hours we had to take our cat in twice for a blocked urethra. The staff here is upfront about cost, and providing alternative game plans if you can't afford it. Not to mention the staff handling the check-ins and paperwork are some of the nicest, and most patient people I have met. If you have a pet who can't see their primary vet and it's after hours please consider going to these folks. You'll be in good hands.

After calling several vet offices in Waynesville NC no one could see us ....the emergency vet at lake junalaska have me an emergency appointment for Oct 26!!! I needed a vet NOW!! Drove the few miles to Asheville to Med Vet and we're so happy we did.....Titus was treated well and I was completely comfortable with the staff treatment of my good boy.....open 24 hours, WALK INS WELCOME!!! They are emergency only but if they were just regular vets, I would have them treat my Good Boyz all the time .

We were fortunate to have found REACH and Dr. Brett Wood when one of our dogs became very ill and needed emergency gall bladder surgery. With both my husband and I in the healthcare field, we always try to find a top-notch facility for our pets, but in an emergency situation in a new town one doesn't have time for a lot of research. We were both very impressed from the minute we walked in the door with the reception staff, and ultimately with the triage nurse, and the ER and surgical staff. Not with just their competence and skill, but the consideration and compassion they showed to our very old dog with very poor social skills. Our dog did great and we can't brag enough about Dr. Wood's skills and his surgical staff. We recently visited again for a surgical procedure and each time we sit in the waiting room we are so amazed at how professional and caring each employee is. If you have an emergency or surgical need, we would highly recommend this facility!
Noelle B
Overall a positive experience. I didn't get to view the x-ray results, but my dog was able to get the emergency care she needed and is in excellent health. Job well done.

We were passing through Asheville and our dog started acting like he was in pain at 1am. Although the clinic was very busy that night, we received compassionate, attentive, and thorough care. The doctor followed up with us two days later over the phone and expressed that we were free to call anytime for questions or concerns. In a very stressful time for us we felt cared for. Thank you, REACH!
David Styles
Top marks for a team that takes your pet's health seriously, along with your peace of mind as a pet parent. One of my fur babies developed a problem that led to tough decisions. MedVet folks were patient, thorough and compassionate. Made a hard time much easier to deal with.

I hate to give a poor review because our girl was well loved and taken care of and the staff was so sweet, but I don’t recommend bringing your pet here. Our dog was very sick and the knowledge exceeded the staff. At this point I wish they had been honest rather than poking and prodding her and trying more tests, even though my wish was to get to the bottom of her struggle. We spent close to 5k, and she was given back to us without any explanation of the meds she was on, what diet she should be on or even her diagnosis. We had to threaten withholding money to get the simple test results, bloodwork levels, sonogram results and report so we could follow up with our vet. This took 2 days which I felt was crucial for our sick girl. Then I had to put mom jeans on and demanded to stay on hold until I spoke to the vet about her discharge, 2 days after she was home. Again, I feel terrible because everyone was so kind but either they are severely understaffed or the changing of hands to corporate is throwing them for a loop. Our dog is now at Upstate Vet where I wished we had taken her initially. They discovered one of the medications she was given at MedVet was actually damaging to her kidneys. She was in pain and it was horrible to witness. Save yourself time and stress and take your animal to Upstate Vet. I’m not sure if they can fix her but at least I know they have the resources to find out <3

They took excellent care of my dog when he was sick. The wait time was long, but I knew that before arriving. The staff and vet I spoke with were all very helpful and friendly.

Lilly Bell our fur baby had a extremely large bladder stone that was obstructing her urethral passage. My primary vet suggested REACH and I am glad she did. Lilly was given great care every step of her stay at REACH. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable which helped to clam the uncertainty of the situation we were in at the time. They were up front about the care she needed and charges I would incur for Lilly's visit. I thank REACH for their services and care for our pet in our time of need.

The service the communication and And the attention to detail on my cat was fabulous they seemed to be very thorough and did a great job my cat is doing so much better now thank you

Just showed up with the dog on a Saturday, and everyone was great. The vet was awesome. I will definitely return in the future.

We were traveling and took our dog for a non-emergency medical issue. The staff was very nice, thorough, and professional. The veterinarian was kind and competent. The facility is spotless and cheery. We did spend about 2 hours there....and the cost was only slightly more than our home veterinarian would have charged for a visit. I was pleased.

REACH Veterinary Specialists is the best! Because I've had many, many pets over the years and have been to many emergency vets, I know what I'm talking about. Every person treated us with kindness and were gentle and loving toward my dog. Diagnostics were comprehensive, yet on point. This group is worthy of your trust.

24/7 Pet Care. One of our rescue cats had eye surgery just over a week ago. The Veterinarian who did the surgery is not open on weekends. Called MedVet friday night, made arrangements to bring him over on Saturday. We were worried about infection as he likes to head butt and opened up some of the stitches under the right eye. MedVet Doctor and staff took great care of him.

We took our little dog here a little after midnight after we found her with a block of rat poison in her mouth! The staff did a fantastic job researching poison and were able to confirm that she did not eat enough to be toxic (thankfully, we brought the block from her mouth and a new block). The staff were very professional and gave us a technician consultation rate to save us money. Expecting to break the bank due to the 1am visit, bill was very reasonable and on par with normal vet visit fee! Highly recommend this vet!

It has taken a while for me to be able to write this review, but I have nothing but good things to say. My wife and I were at the point when it was getting close to time to put down our aging cat. To make a long story short, he went down quickly and we felt like it was time. It was after hours, but we could not stand to see him suffer. It was well worth the extra money to end our family member's suffering. The staff were kind and understanding, in what was a very difficult day. My final point,is yes they do cost a little more, but that is the price of having a vet oncall. Well worth it in my opinion. Thank you REACH!
HD Will
Arrangements made for payment were not followed. Asked to hold a small check for 6 days after paying most of the bill with cash, was told no problem. They processed it immediately, cost me additional $105.00 in the six days until it processed. Great vet, but wants money immediately.

This 5 star review is for Joshua Bentley, one of the veterinarians at REACH. Over the past decade, I've landed at REACH in the middle of the night three times. No one want to go to the emergency vet. Especially in the middle of the night. But if one has to, they'd like to be met with a kind, knowledgeable, compassionate person and Joshua Bentley is definitely that. In years past, I've had a less than compassionate experience at REACH but last night Dr. Bentley was kind, informative, patient, compassionate and didn't try to push or pressure us into any tests or procedures. He was very factual and presented our options to us and let us decide what was best for our dog.
Before seeing Dr. Bentley, the vet tech was also more than kind and considerate of our dogs comfort and needs. She brought us a blanket for him to lay down on and turned down the lights for us since my dogs eyes seemed to be hurting.
Also, it's notable that my dog liked both the vet tech and the vet which is hardly EVER the case for him. He is usually fearful at any vet-like experience whether healthy or in pain. So that was also a comfort that he felt at ease with them.
I'm thankful we have an emergency vet available to us in this region. I hope and pray I am never again in need of their services. But if I do have to return, I sure hope Dr. Bentley is working and available.
Thank you Dr. Bentley and thank you to the vet tech who looked after us. I truly appreciate your kindness, patience, and compassion at such a time and place.

The staff at MedVet Asheville are kind, caring, and very responsive. After a scary morning of my good boy getting sick, they were able to get me in within 10 minutes of calling MedVet Asheville. I appreciated the precautionary measures taken due to covid. The veterinarian broke everything right down to the costs and what I was able to afford. Needless to say, I will return if need be. 10 out of 10!

It was our first time using REACH, and even though our vet recommends them when they are closed, we were not sure what to expect. Everyone there was very caring and compassionate. Our cat Coco was having a really serious asthma attack and we were too worried about her to wait until morning. They treated her quickly and got her feeling well enough to go home. She is doing great now. I really appreciate the fact there is somewhere to go when you have an emergent situation, and definitely recommend them, from the receptionist to the techs, to the vet, all of them were terrific.
majic847
Both of my dogs had to go to REACH, one of which was an emergency, she had a tumor on her heart. We were treated with the utmost respect and compassion from all. Many people do not understand that this also is a business and they have to have money to keep it running so I certainly understand why they need to make financial arrangements prior to treating pets. They have a wonderful facility and staff there. Thank you so much for all of your expertise, compassion, and kindness. It is very difficult making that decision to let your pet go, but I appreciate their honesty when surgery is not the best option and your pet is suffering.

My dog was in shock by the time i arrived at MedVet at 1AM. From that evening i called no less then 10 vets from around the Weaverville/Asheville area begging one of them to do anything to help my hurt dog, my little buddy, my best friend, and every single one of them turn me away because i did not have a handful of money to give them first, it was single handed one of the worst days of my life so far, finally after he got worse that night i found the only 24hr vet close to me MedVet, i drove my little buddy there they met me in the parking lot and rushed him inside, finally the DR talked to me about his condition and quality of life and it was then decided against a very very heavy heart that letting him go was what was best. I told the doctor i had no money on me at the time, she said she was not going to turn me away and let my dog suffer, she gave him pain medication to help make him as comfortable as she could then took me to a room to be with him as long as i wanted, not wanting to prolong his suffering i gave her the go ahead and she took away all his pain. Everyone that worked there was very compassionate about that awful night and even days later i received a hand written card in the mail from the Doctor expressing her deepest sympathy for my loss, which i thought was very above and beyond. Thank you MedVet. You helped when so many others said no, you did the true meaning of your profession over the almighty dollar. And unfortunately i still have not been able to pay them yet and they have NOT done like most places would and harassed and drove me crazy over it, but i am happy to say that our church has offerd to help and is going to pay off what is owed. So to all at MedVet thank you again.

Unfortunately, I have had to use the services of Reach many times for emergencies but have always received professional and compassionate services. They always do their very best to handle patients in a timely manner . Extreme emergencies of course receive immediate attention. Personnel very considerate in giving frequent updates of your pet. Drs. are very professional yet compassionate in explaining the situation with your pet.
The only negative comment I could make is that I feel they should look at their fees according to the situation. Specifically when I take a stray to Reach for attention. I'm certainly not saying a stray animals life is valued any less but I would like for them to review their fees.
Kim Lewis
Thank you MedVet for your care, concern, an exceptional service! We worked with amazing techs and Anastasia Ferikes, DVM and each was very amazing!
We had an emergency while on vacation and was referred to medvet by the retreat we were staying and it was an excellent recommendation. They definitely made us feel comfortable in a very uncomfortable situation.
Ella Sizemore
When it got there they said it would be 2 hours I sat there almost 3 and still didnt hear anything so when a lady came outside i asked her if she could find out a up date she called and said wasnt you told it would be 8 to 10 hours. You can take her else where if you dont want to wait. My babys face was swollen and she had a fever of 104.5. I understand they got busy but they could have told me earlier so I could have found somewhere else that could he help her. These animals are more then and dog or a cat they are someones whole world. What if it was your baby and your were told you can take them elsewhere after thinking they had her there for 3 hours they were taking care of her. Just to be told nothing.

Over the years I have been to REACH many times with several of my dogs. They have always without fail given wonderful care and every staff member I've met has been loving of my dogs as if it were their own. My new pup just had surgery there and the skill, care, and service they provide is simply the best. I thank, my family thanks you, and my pup Duke thanks you.
Robert
My dog was sick. He threw up in my SUV. I was miles from home and had nothing to clean up the mess. I stopped at REACH Animal Hospital and asked for help. I was expecting a few paper towels but the receptionist brought out the whole role. She was kind and gave me the feeling that they were there to help. It's not often that someone does something out of the kindness of their hearts. Thanks so much REACH. From now on you will be my Vet place to go.
Jennifer Wasyluk-Seitz
Going to an emergency vet is always stressful. I would have to say this was the best experience I have ever had, and we had to put our Great Dane to sleep. The office staff was kind and compationate. They never once gave you a judgemental look. They offered to have Lola's paw print as a keep sake and were very caring about our needs as well as Lola's. Thank you R.E.A.C.H.
Dasujaben
This is the situation that any animal lover dreads: needing to put a beloved elderly animal to sleep. Our 18.5 year old cat, Lucy, reached a very state of clear suffering on a Saturday evening, after the practice of our vet was closed. From the initial telephone call, through the actual experience of being ushered into a quiet room where she was euthanized, we were treated with the utmost of respect and sensitivity. Dr. Ulke and the remainder of the Staff were caring and helped us to make a very difficult situation the best that it could be. Thank you to all of the Staff for your kindness-- it is so very much appreciated!

I travel and had a pet emergency while on the road. It was awesome to find a place open late and easily accessible from the highway. Then you add the Fabulous staff with their very kind and caring manner makes this place a Winner. The Doctor helped my injured Fur Baby and was very clear and concise as to what our options were. From the reception through the entire staff this Veterinary is Highly Recommend.😇👏💖🐾🐶

This 5 star review is purely for the wonderful customer service over the phone. Answered my questions with great patience and went above and beyond to help me find the right care for my kitty.
Christina Wall
It's who you need when you need them. I can't fault them for taking hours to see you when other animals are in more need than yours. Pack your patience if busy. Staff was very nice but rushed.
Cassidy Butler
We are from out of town but have had to use this clinic twice for our furbabies in emergency situations. They were beyond amazing with their compassion and professionalism. Every staff member was busy and staying productive and made us feel like a priority and like our babies truly did matter to them. If we lived closer this would be our primary vet
Michael D.
Very nice staff. Thorough. They have numbered parking spaces so you can call them and they will come out to get your pet and return it to you when they are done. You talk to the vet by phone. They do take appointments.
Virginia Boney, Ph.D.
We are so indebted to the awesome care and very caring staff at REACH. It is a shame that the other reviewers have complained about the cost. The staff were very transparent about explaining each item that we were charged for in caring for our very ill dog. While it was expensive, we expected it since we were not at a regular vet but a specialized emergency facility. Were it not for REACH, I am not sure that our dog would still be alive because of getting ill on a weekend when most vets are closed. It really helped to have LEVEL 2 Pet Insurance from ASPCA. Check it out on the web because it is very affordable and a HUGE help when your pet is ill or has been involved in a accident. The staff even helped us fill out the claim form. We couldn't be more grateful for the services and care of the REACH vets and staff.
Lauri Tate
Very caring and compassionate team! Several months ago my 13 yr old dog had a serious medical issue and my vet was unable to get her into the office. I had never been to REACH but they treated Aspen with kindness and love. I had to make the toughest decision a pet owner has that night and they were so empathetic and patient with both of us. I will never forget their help on that sad night.

I needed emergency help with my Lab and was 600 miles from my own vet. These folks took me right in, checked my Lab out, ultrasound and all. Set me up with some special food and medicine and were just top notch. Really great!

I took my dog in yesterday, and ended up with the worst outcome, having to have him put down. We did spend over $1300.00, but it was the proper diagnosis and decision. The staff was excellent, the Dr. was kind, all this on a Friday night when they were super busy.

One night we came home from the movies to find my corgi sitting in a pool of blood; he had been attacked by one of our other dogs We called REACH and brought him in; the staff rushed him back right away and worked for two hours to get him stabilized. They told us things didn't look good, but they would do everything they could for him. They were kind enough to let us see him before we left, but I knew from looking at him that we had probably seen him for the last time.
The next morning when I called to see when he had died during the night.they told us they had managed to stabilize him, clean his extensive wounds, give him IV fluid and start him on medications for pain. He was still unstable and on a heart monitor, but they let us come and see him, and they didn't mind us calling every few hours to check and see how he was doing. Over the next few days the staff worked a miracle. Once he was stable, they did surgery to remove the dead muscle and skin tissue, placing drains to prevent him from getting infection. He was in their ICU for six days, and received amazing care. The staff were always so kind, answering our questions and letting us come see him whenever we wanted. We brought him home a week later, still with drains in and needing a lot of care, but REACH helped us every step of the way. Thanks to them, we have our boy back!
We couldn't be more pleased with the care he received, and with the kindness and professionalism the staff showed us in that very emotional time. Their services are not cheap, but they are providing specialized emergency services with trained and highly-skilled staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It costs money to have access to such specialized services around-the-clock; I am very thankful to live within driving distance of their services otherwise he would not have survived. Their work is of the highest quality and worth every penny; I rest easy knowing that my "kids" have access to their remarkable healing services whenever there is a need. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and I am grateful for everything they did for my corgi, and for us.

The level of professionalism that these people possess is amazing. On June 3rd, 2016.. My Luci (a shih tzu mix) had showed signs of a stuck pup while whelping. I drove 2 hours to REACH from Cherokee and got there roughly at 331am. The Vet on call and his nurses immediately took Luci in and they began to help her. They were understanding, they explained every step of the way, they made sure that I knew what was going on with Luci, they gave me updates every 10 to 15 minutes while I waited. Dr. Ulke and Kottkamp made it easy enough for me to understand and when I left Luci for 2 nights, both doctors took the time to call and give me updates. I highly recommend this facility if your pet has an emergency. The grade of professional services is amazing.

We had to take our diabetic kitty Chloe here Sunday night due to a low sugar episode and she was throwing up and not eating. I called ahead and they took her right in at 5pm. I will say that I was getting frustrated with no updates but at 11pm Dr. Lindheimer called, apologized for the long wait, explained that they were slammed and that Chloe was stable and that they wanted to keep her overnight to run tests and try to get her re-regulated on her insulin and find out why she is throwing up and not eating. She explained things well and asked lots of questions and explained that while she was off duty, the overnight doctor would be taking care of Chloe and would call in the morning and let me know where they were in her treatment plan and if the plan would need to be tweaked. She gave me an estimate and asked if that was doable in my budget. Chloe is still at the hospital but fingers are crossed that she will have a good outcome. After 2 full days and nights in the hospital, Chloe gets to come home today. Drs. Freikes, Bentley and Krauskopf were wonderful, patient and answered tons of questions and took good care of my baby girl. Thank you all!!

I am writing this review for the staff at Reach Veterinary. We left for Asheville Wednesday late morning. It was a Thanksgiving getaway, to meet my in-laws from Griffin, Ga and my sister in law, her husband and kids from Annapolis, MD. Lola our dog, always goes with us wherever we travel. She wasn’t feeling that great and as the day went into night we knew something was wrong. By early evening she was unable to walk and couldn’t lift her head. Without going into more detail and after her having a very difficult night our beautiful, sweet, loving, funny and magnificent dog passed away at 6:20 Thanksgiving morning. Our hearts will be forever broken and we will miss her every day.
Craig and I were absolutely devoted to her as she was to us. She was our child and until almost 5 years ago our only child.
We never veered from the amount of love and attention that we gave her after Cash our son was born.
Lola would have been 14 years old on March 17. Luckily we were able to find a veterinary office open in Asheville and they took our sweet baby and kept her body preserved until we could make the trip back to Mount Pleasant. The staff there were caring and loving. I could see that they felt our pain. I will always be grateful to the staff at Reach for taking our sweet baby in and treating her with dignity and love.
We love you Lola! We were so lucky to have you as our baby!
As we are on the highway now our sweet girl is in the back of our vehicle.... the final journey to her resting place.
She will be buried in our yard where we can still be with her every day😢🐶❤️
With much gratitude,
Jennifer, Craig & Cash Fine

Thank u medvet for taking such good care of my dog cody. I thought I was going to lose my little buddy. Medvet is awesome!

They are very warm and helpful.
However, our bill increased incrementally over time. At the end of the treatment, after we thought we were all paid up, they charged use ANOTHER $300 that we were not told about, despite the fact that they claimed to be transparent about pricing. Our bill went from $1200 to $1600 to $1900. They do a good job but are SUPER expensive, so be prepared to pay a lot.

We are visiting the area from out of state. Our dog, Peppa got tangled in some barbed wire jumping over a fence and tore her left front leg requiring immediate assistance. We took her to The emergency vet where she had to have surgery. The staff was amazing, the dr was very kind and the checkout woman who brought her out to us was very thorough with instructions. We are super pleased and thankful for the care they provided.
Matthew Phillips
Thanks for taking such great care of our Harley dog. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful and did not mind that we called every few hours to check on him. Our fur babies become a part of our family and they definately understand that. Very compassionate and caring staff. Would definately recommend to anyone. Thanks again !

Covid restrictions include waiting in vehicle or grassy outdoor area while your pet is cared for. Staff/vet contacted owner by phone as needed. Better than 6 hour wait time elsewhere, with limited patrons at a time. Great care, knowledgeable vet. Cost conscious.
M Heaphy
Compassionate care. On a very busy day the vet made time to see my sick cat. A recommended plan and estimated cost was provided. I knew everything that was being done and why it was being done. Great emergency service.
Kate Cain Madsen (Kate)
My animal soul mate died there on a Sunday. They were kind and helpful and the vet explained my options very clearly and gently. Can't say it was a "great" experience but they are wonderful. They mixed up our names and sent a sympathy card to my roommate unsigned which might have been better left undone but they were wise and kind when it counted. Be careful if you set a cat on the counter, they have a toxic plant sitting there. Oops.
Eva Holler
Very caring staff. They took time with explaining what was wrong with my pet.
Highly recommend them.
Kate Tinnan
Both times I have had to take a pet in for care - one time being somewhat of an emergency - the staff was courteous, caring and responsive. Both pets got great care and so did I. The wait time can be long but it's worth it when you have a sick pet. Emergency vets can be pricey but Medvet Asheville was pretty reasonable. I would recommend them for sure.

Our English Bulldog was not feeling good so we traveled to Reach in Asheville. The drive was 1 hr but very worth it! The vet technician was amazing and the front off staff helped me keep our sweet baby calmn. The vet took care of us quick and provided so much care for her UTI. I would recommend Reach anytime.
Maggie N.
The staff at Reach are professional, respectful and very kind. I had an experience with them 1-2 years ago that I often recall when I have friends and co-workers who visit there and similarly feel comforted and taken care of when they're in a scary spot. Even at 2AM on a Sunday, they were quick to help me and my partner through a horrible situation. I'll never forget that experience. Thank you Reach!
Amanda Lankford
They were backed up because it was a Sunday after a holiday so I was worked in to a wonderful place for emergency animal care. The staff is great told me everything up front and called me with pricing as well to make sure that I was not only ok with the care but the price as well. I hope I never have to again but will definitely bring my pet back if needed.

Had to take my dog to make him puke out some things he shouldn't have eaten. They were pretty quick and got him quickly and efficiently. Covid set up was good, in car with marked spots. Make sure to ask for an explicit quote before hand if that's a concern, was a bit more than we thought but still super reasonable for a totally alive pupper.

Google tells me that I have visited here. Indeed! …Weekly and the some, as I am the lawn/landscape maintenance provider. I do know, however, that the doctors and staff here are prompt, professional and very personable for all your pet emergency needs, having used their services for my own pets.

Excellent care for our sweet girl.
Many thanks for TLC.

My cat has allergies that cause her to break out. She is on medication, but she had a break out and it got infected. I took her to REACH and they took awesome care of her. They were very gentle and caring. They gave her a shot of antibiotics and gave us pills to give her at home. She is looking and feeling so much better :) Thank you REACH for great service.

I just wanted to give a huge thank you to the MedVet Asheville staff. We took our gsd over to them on Monday night. She's was critically ill. The staff, from the gal who talked to me on the phone, to the techs, Dr Salzer, Dr Bentley and all the others who worked on Oakley, we are so grateful. You all are an amazing team!

It's Memorial Day and I just picked up our cat after an accidental poisoning. I'm so thankful for their services and frankly I thought the price for saving her life wasn't as bad as I expected. They were busy this holiday weekend but still very courteous and quick.

In this crazy time of Covid-19 I had to rush my dog in with a possible snake bite/seizure. They had the parking lot set up for emergencies and he was brought in right away. Of course, I was not allowed in. Jack is home and resting in great shape. They did a wonderful job caring for him. While I was waiting i guess i had listened to the radio for too long and my battery was dead. Dr. Frickey came out and gave me a jump. Talk about going the extra mile! Hats off to the folks at MediVet.
Donna Roberts
Took every good care of our furry babies. Very nice people. And a reasonable price.

I turned in a dog hit by a car doing 55 mph. He was badly injured and not expected to survive. Admission was prompt, thorough and professional. Dog was badly injured and paralyzed on one side from brain trauma. After 5 days the dog has almost fully recovered and fully mobile. Reach worked through proper legal channels to help rehome the dog after the legal owner declined to claim him. He's now happy and healthy. Thank you for this miracle.

Very caring and compassionate when I had to have my cat transition.❤🐱 …

Through a traumatic time for my beloved dog, the staff was compassionate and professional. I can never begin to thank Dr. Casey enough for all they did for us.
Mel P
We had to take our dogs to REACH on two occasions over the last few years, and both were emergency situations. While one of the outcomes was sad, I cannot say enough positive things about the kindness of their staff and the excellent service they provide. We are grateful they are in Asheville area.

My bulldog granddog has been having tough time with pneumonia and bilateral torn ccl. Dr Herndon has been excellent. He did caring consult for surgery but was also cautious on dealing with pneumonia before proceeding. He called me after hours to provide further guidance to out of state worried grandad. I really appreciated his technical expertise and caring attitude!
Mindy McCall
They were so friendly and helpful in a very scary puppy poisoning situation. Thank you all!!!

REACH has changed from what I remembered several years ago. #1: Incredibly kind, compassionate, non-judgmental and supportive care provided to human and cat alike. Thank you, front office staff and Dr. Fernandez! #2: The cost was also drastically different from what I recalled, just as much *if not less* than a vet visit (before midnight). #3: The program, while an "emergency" clinic, does not have the air of crisis about it. It's very calm, serene, and effort is obviously put into keeping it that way.
Overall, while my guy was not a happy camper, we left with a treatment plan and he's healing great and I can't thank REACH enough.

I was travelling when my dog, Ollie, was injured and had to undergo extensive surgury. I could not have put him in a better place. Dr. Wood, the surgeon, is incredible, and the staff there could not have been more helpful or more kind. I feel so lucky to have randomly landed at REACH. I can't say enough good things. They are available 24 hours for phone calls, visits, and to help with transitioning back home. I called them everyday the week we came home, as I was nervous and unsure, and they were so great everytime, and encouraged me to call anytime. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Your pet will be well cared for at REACH. I am eternally grateful to the Dr. Wood and the staff at REACH. EXCELLENT!

I came home Friday afternoon from work and my dog Spot was not using his back legs anymore. I called my regular vet and they advised me to go to REACH to have him check. I got there around 5:15 and everyone was amazing when we got there. The intake was easy and the employees were very polite. They took my dog straight back and placed him in crate so a Doctor could look at him. Around 6:30 Dr. Ulke came in and gave us horrible news. He had done a Neurological exam on our dog and he had no deep pain sensation left in his legs or tail. He was in a lot of pain. Dr. Ulke was amazing and very sincere. He took his time with us and gave us all the options. We did not leave REACH until 10 pm. They never rushed us and let us spend as much time as needed with Spot before we left for the night. We had multiple employees check on us, hug us, and cry with us.
Spot stayed for an overnight treatment to see if the swelling would go down and he would get any sensation back. I called the next morning around 8 am and Dr. Judi Krauskopf was the vet on duty. She was the one who had to give us the bad news that he had not regained any sensation and that he would probably never regain the functions of his back legs. We did not want him to suffer and be paralyzed and not be able to use the bathroom by himself. We had to do the unbearable. We had to put our beloved Spot to sleep.
We went to REACH around 12 on Saturday. Again, the staff was amazing. The brought him into the room so we could spend a little bit more time with him before we had to say goodbye. He was wrapped up in blankets to keep him warm. When we were ready we let the staff know and Dr. Krauskopf came in. She let us know what was going to happen, how long the process would take, and want to expect. Before we left the offered to put his paw print into a piece of clay so we could have something to remember him by.
I would definitely recommend going to them. They are very sincere and caring (I just received a condolence card in the mail today from them. Haven't even received one from my vets office). Yes, they are a little pricey but what do you expect for an emergency vet??
Please do not read the other comments about how awful they are. Of course they are going to want money upfront. I'm sure there are a lot of people who try to skip out of their bill or not ever pay them. They can't run a business without getting paid.

Our poor puppy got his leg twisted in his leash and broke it late Saturday evening on 4/2 just outside of Marion, NC. We are full-time travelers, and of course had no access to our regular vet back home in Arkansas. We called a local veterinarian, and he recommended that we take our fur baby to REACH for care. The staff there were very friendly and calming, and even when we asked persistent questions about the status of our puppy, they were polite and helpful. They gave us an estimate, explained it thoroughly, and also helped expedite our insurance process by filing a claim on our behalf. The vet on call x-rayed our puppy's leg, splinted it, gave us pain and anti-inflammatory meds, and gave us instructions on keeping him comfortable until we could see a vet in town on Monday. He is now on the mend! We are very grateful to the staff here for treating him so well and for being so patient with some very worried pet parents.

Arrived late in the evening with my dog having a 3in piece of wood in his foot. The staff here was very understanding of the situation and they took care of my dog within 3hrs. Thanks to the evening staff that evening.

REACH did everything in their power to help save my baby boy, Harvey the hedgehog. Even though they weren't sure about exotic pets, every exotic pet specialist in town seemed to be out that day. They took him in without a second thought and did everything they could. Sadly, he passed. At that point they were incredibly kind and helpful. They made paw prints for us. They wrapped him up so we didn't have to see. They were professional and kind. Thank you, reach.
Andrea Heninger
Took our GSD to MedVet urgently as she got bitten by a copperhead. They took her in immediately (following guidelines by CDC for cornovirus protection), the Vet called us in our car as we waited and explained his treatment plan. They kept her overnight, calling to update us in the evening and she made a 100% recovery. Picked her up this morning. Thank you all at Med Vet!!!! So appreciate your expertise and compassion!

"Loved it..." as a description for 5 stars is not applicable, but I believe we had the best experience we could have hoped for given the situation: Our dog died at REACH a few weeks ago.
We brought her in at 8:30PM, after she suddenly presented serious cardiac and respiratory symptoms. Upon arrival they took her back and quickly evaluated her. We were presented with options and suggestions as for what they could do for her, and the vet kindly discussed the different treatment plans with us before we agreed to what we could afford (after opening a $1,700 line of Credit through care credit; it's worth noting that they put in the effort to do this for you if you cannot), which happened to be all they could do. It was a lot of money for what we make, and yes, we were asked to pay up front. I understand that a vet like this may not be able to stay in business if they did not do this, and then there would be many more people and animals who suffered greater harm.
The vet going off duty at 1AM called to update us on Rushka's progress. We called the next morning for an update from the on-duty vet and he immediately called back. When our regular vet opened, we called and were told with confidence that due to the severity of the situation, she would be better off staying there to continue treatment in order to stabilize her. I trust him implicitly. When the internist (who was the only person who could perform the echocardiogram that she needed for further diagnosis) arrived at 9AM, she called us right away to tell us our options. We immediately rushed in to see our love and authorize the procedure and $400. We went back home and spoke to our vet who REACH spoke to directly.
11AM we got a call from the same vet who told us that the procedure could not be performed because her heart was beating too fast to see (350BPM) and that she was not responding to medication and that death could come at any minute if it were to. We drove as quickly as we could back there and the ICU staff quickly led us back to see her, where we stayed for the next 4 hours, which happened to be the last 4 of Rushka's life. I am in awe of the kindness the entire staff showed through the hardest day of my life. We knelt on the floor in front of her cage that entire time - the techs brought us blankets for padding. We asked a lot of questions - they answered them all. The provided compassion, sympathy and kind words throughout the entire ordeal. Any time we had a question for the vet, she came back to personally answer it. They were guarded in giving their opinions, but completely straightforward with both personal and professional when asked.
Rushka continue to deteriorate, despite their care. When it came time to ask about the blue bottle, if it became necessary, they were straightforward and compassionate. From this point on the vet stayed with us, though I know she must have been busy. They did everything they could to help make her (and us comfortable). Her heart was failing, she became hypoxic, then lost awareness and began to seize. Everything told us she was dying, and as soon as we asked for them to help speed her through her suffering they immediately and reverently complied. We sobbed in their ICU for hours and never felt a burden; quite the opposite, we felt comforted surrounded by people who cared for the animals and us. We continued to wail for an hour with her body after they prepared her for us to see, and never felt pressured. It was $1,500, after they consolidated some charges and did not even charge us for the echocardiogram (the most expensive procedure that was part of her treatment plan), which was approved and in fact performed. Everyone spoke kindly of her, telling us how beautiful and sweet she had been. Thank you, REACH for everything you did for us and all the animals you are able to save through your work.
I could not speak more highly of the REACH staff, and would recommend them to anyone, regardless of how many times it meant reliving the experience and weeping as I do now writing this.
Elaine Moore Schupp
Dr. Silliman was very thorough in explaining his assessment of my fur baby's condition. He also outlined possible treatment scenarios. I was appreciative of his time to fully inform me of all options.

We brought our dog Scudder in early Sunday morning 8/14. We thought is was just a case of bloat but soon found out that it was much more serious. The doctor was very honest and understanding with us. We decided to save our boy the pain of going through this again and again and had him put to sleep. Every member of the staff we encountered was kind and understanding with us. They took very good care of us and our boy in his last moments.

This is not a fake posting. This is a real review from my experience at 11:30 pm Monday August the 27th.
My dog mannie was a 14 year old American bulldog, my 3rd child and the best dog I believe I’ve ever had. He was losing a battle with aggressive large cell sarcoma. His personal vet had told me a few weeks prior after thousands of dollars of surgery and meds, at this point we were trying to keep him comfortable and with out pain.
Mannie had gone down hill rather quickly the week leading up to the 27th he was in pain and losing his appetite (not taking his meds either due to the lack of appetite) which made him even more uncomfortable. Friday the 24th I spoke with his vet about euthanasia. It was scheduled for the Wednesday 29th.
Unfortunately he was just in to much pain and deteriorating rapidly. He was unnecessarily suffering and I couldn’t watch this happen to him. I called reach and they told me to bring him right then. This was the most compassionate, attentive, and caring group of vets and vet techs I have had the pleasure of meeting. They went above and beyond for Mannie and myself. I was rushed right back to their er. They immediately worked on getting him comfortable. Allowing me to be present for this. They waited until I knew he was comfortable and not hurting to do his paperwork. They explained in detail what we were going to do. They put Mannie and I in a private room to spend his last minutes together in private. The vet/vet tech that came in into the room to euthanize Mannie was amazing. He explained what to expect and answered every question I had thoroughly. He was very empathetic, and genuinely cared.
I’m sorry I didn’t get his and everyone else’s names. These are extraordinary people. Who definitely care about you and your animal.
They did all of this for us for free. My bill was $0.
I think you for everything you did for us Reach.
Annie Main
Wonderful, compassionate staff. The vet took a lot of time explaining what happened and answering my questions.
Brandon Aero
They took care of my little soon to be mama , Orea had a brown discharge on our trip home and I thought she was miscarrying but it turned out to be pressure from her babies that caused her to release her anal glands on me. I screamed, the doctor laughed and made a funny. So I really appreciate these people and their professional and yet funny lol

We had the heartbreaking experience of having to say goodbye to our dog, Cody. REACH did everything they could to make it as not-awful as they could for our sweet boy and our family. I appreciate the kindness and empathy they showed us and their efforts to do everything they could for our dog.

I can not say enough about how kind and compassionate all the staff was. Everyone was incredibly professional and yet " human". The staff not only helped me on the New year eve holiday; when no one else would, but also helped me stay within my budget and also gave me information to get the rest of the help we needed. Thank you MedVet Aheville!!
Marcia Bassell
Dr. Ferikes and the team at MedVet were compassionate and caring when I took Duke in last night. He was having trouble walking and in pain. Duke is better this morning and want to say thank you for the great care he received.
Patrick Davis
We were in the unfortunate position of having to put down our 16 year old Shih Tzu "Simon".
The staff there (especially Dr. Bentley and Nora) were very professional, understanding, and compassionate. They made the experience as comfortable as it could possibly have been under the circumstances and made a paw print out of clay for us to have as a memento.
They even mailed us a sympathy card with a personal message from the doctor.
They are a class act and I would highly recommend them!
Ashley Varacalli
Pricey but they are very helpful and kind!! They took great care of my pupper while I was there and kept me pretty well updated throughout the time we spent there!

Guys I have nothing but praise for these people. Dr. Bergman has been so very sweet. I was just there yesterday with my dog who has cancer. They treated my dog and I with such respect. I would recommend anyone who needs a specialty vet to check them out.

They were very helpful and compassionate with my dogs emergency. I will definitely take my dog back there!! Also their prices were reasonable in my opinion.

Outstanding Service. When we arrived, we were in a panic state for our 13.5 year old border collie. He was in critical condition. Dr. Bentley was very meticulous to explain our situation and options we had to help Beethoven. His delivery and calmness helped with our anxiety. I was called the next morning by Dr. Ferikes and she reiterated Dr. Bentley’s diagnosis of Beethoven and conveyed his upcoming surgery and was very optimistic regarding his procedure which helped ease our nervousness. The surgeon Dr. Wood called us before and after the surgery. He was very patient with all of my questions and even provided his personal cell number for any follow up questions. Dr. Hanes and Dr. Salzer were always kind and provided detailed updates on him during his 3 day stay. Allana and Anna provided pictures of our pup while he was in the hospital. It helped pass the time away as we desperately missed him. I have had numerous emergency visits with prior dogs at other emergency vets. This was by far an unbelievable positive experience during this dramatic time. I thank all the staff that took excellent care of our boy. His recovery has been amazing. He’s up an about and in great spirits.
P.S. Dr. Aldridge and Dr. Wesselman have provided excellent follow-ups for our boy.
John Taylor
They took care of my dog with professionalism and expertise. He's now on the road to recovery. Thank you for everything you did.
Gary Allison
You all saved mine and my boyfriend's babies life and I'm forever grateful. He has pulled all the way through and acts like nothing happened. He was a shih tzu named Jango and I'm forever indebted to y'all. If you ever need any volunteer help or anything please call me.
Thanks,
Paige and Gary

Had to euthanize my 12 yr. Old cat... The staff was extremely kind , caring, & understanding. Thank You for being so very kind to us & cat "NO".

Absolutely wonderful place. Very friendly and they care about their furry patients and that's a big plus. Very compassionate staff.

Our aging Labrador Ruby had surgery at REACH to address laryngeal paralysis. Dr. Wood and the entire staff were friendly, professional, and thorough. They explained the procedure and the required aftercare very patiently, and took the time to answer questions in detail, both in person and when I called with yet more follow up questions. Ruby spent the night after the surgery at REACH and received excellent care. REACH is an hour away for us but it will continue to be an important resource for us, for after-hour emergency care or specialized treatment for our dogs.

We lost our boxer last night. His time with us was short but he left his mark on us. The doctor there was amazing in helping us through the process.
Richard Ward
They are amazing! Exelent care and they really love animals! We don’t even take our dogs to the regular vet anymore for minor or major issues! We love reach! They do everything for our pets. We couldn’t ask for better care.

My wife and I had arrived from out of town (we live in Florida) to spend some time with our Sister-inlaw in Asheville. It was during a 4-5 day rain storm. We had already put on our PJs and ready for bed. But our Bichon, Lily, had not been feeling well for couple of days, became worse to the point we felt uneasy going to bed and waiting until morning to have her seen. So we called R.E.A.C.H and without hesitation they gave us directions and told us to bring her right in. The nurse came out to waiting room immediately to take a quick look at Lily while the brief paperwork was being filled out.Lily was seen by the doctor within 15 minutes, treated right away and prescribed medications to be taken for 2 weeks. We got to bed by 1:30 a.m.and able to fall asleep worry free. Lily was much better by next morning. You can't put a price on that. Thank you for your care. Robert and Louise Blackwood

Thank you so much after the great care given to Mamacita, our 2 year old cat, after she was injured... possibly attached by another animal. You were kind and made us feel comfortable and at home. Everyone went above and beyond!
hassena kassim
Amazing friendly staff. They were quick and offered options. Helped our elderly cat through difficult times.

My dog had a heart murmur ... It was a bad one and they found out it was repairable... Dr Wood did her surgery we are recovering and it's not real easy here at home as she is very active and hard to keep quiet.
We are very grateful to REACH their staff and the Drs there.
I found them very caring🐾💜🐾
Rebecca Devan
I am grateful that REACH is open all days of the week. I was left with a sick cat to pet sit while the owner was out of town. I took the cat to REACH on a Sunday morning. It didn't seem to be very busy, but we did end up spending a lot of time waiting for the vet to come in. Just go there knowing that it wont be a quick trip!
Scott Pickett
MedVet is an emergency veterinary hospital. MedVet should be open 24/7, 365 days a year. MedVet SHOULD be open to the public no matter the concern with the pet. Overall, excellent veterinary care.
Blue MountainCur
Well from what I've seen, this place is very professional and competent.
But...all I've seen is from the parking lot!
Never been inside or seen or talked with the veterinarian!
Y'all gotta come up with a better way'a doing business or at least provide covered parking and a proper WC for those of us that travel from the edge of the world to help our pets!
Proper sheltered parking spaces would be practical and would not be cost prohibited in today's environment!
If ya want y"all can wear roller skates like the drive up Burger joints use'ta!
Our pup says "Two Paws Up!" For Dez Guys!

The acupuncture and cold laser therapy service offered by Dr. Beth Hampton-Jones has really made a difference in the quality of life for my two senior dogs with hip dysplasia and arthritis. Her acupuncture and cold laser treatments were instrumental in post-surgery recovery when one of the dogs had a leg removed due to Osteosarcoma.
My dogs don't see REACH vets for regular care, so it's nice to be able to just use Dr. Beth's services as needed. One of the dogs has had to go to REACH for emergency care a couple of times in the past few years, and while it was somewhat costly, he got immediate and excellent treatment and, because the front desk staff seems to be used to panicked animal parents, I wasn't as freaked out as I could have been.

Midnight Telephone intervention following my (9.5#, 8yo)chihuahua's consumption of human portion salmon &greenbeans,(containing some lg onion slivers--which NORMALLY I fish out if sharing.)
Rob answered, very professional & helpful when given symptoms; he referenced necessary observation of poss/prob sx.(eg:diarrhea, possible vomiting..potential for tremors/seizure activity--to seek ER attn.for latter.)
Reaction depends on ind. animal(size & intake consumed,--naturally a factor.)
It's an advantage being an RN, & to be able to give accurate weight & symptomontology; and not have someone just cut you off with the frequency "bring him/her in..." line...we haven't seen the patient...
Rob exercised clear limitations of NC law on what could be offered legally, yet able to be transparent with helpful suggestions; (eg: in my case, good hydration, and offer potty opportunity more frequently during night....seek medical intervention for tremor/seizure activity.) Many THANKS from Chava's mom! Such compassion for ❤️ furry four-legged children/companions--and their caregivers/parents.
I will express my relief learning that the toxic onion/garlic enzyme isn't cumulative; rather will metabolize over time.
Just SUPER!😇,‼️. KUDOS for Rob's gentle, kind professionalism.
Kathryn Klein
Positive experience. All staff caring and compassionate. The only downside was wait. But do understand it is emergencys come first. Would not hesitate to return. Felt cost was reasonable. Thank you Reach!
Ivey Lamos
Came for a copperhead bite late at night. Staff was helpful and treated my baby very well.
Caroline Elasik
I am very happy with the great care and service they give to the animals in need. Dr.Levine and chastity went above and beyond for my dog and found out exactly what was wrong with him within the day. I really appreciate the great service and care you give for the animals. Thanks again.
Wendy Jackson
The staff at Reach helped assist me with the cremation of my Saint Bernard
who died at home during the night. I had no idea where to turn, so I called
them and they were WONDERFUL. I can't say enough good things about how everything was handled.
Lura Wilcox
The staff is excellent. They truly love animals and are skilled at their jobs. They've helped us with two different pet emergencies in the past. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. They are truly wonderful.
Darcie Argentina
REACH emergency animal hospital is amazingly high tech. They are state-of-the-art and have an excellent skilled staff. Their veterinarians are excellent, experienced and compassionate. I wish all Veterinary hospitals were like REACH.
Lynne Girard
Excellent staff and service. Everyone is so kind and caring.
Andrea James
what a wonderful experience regardless of the circumstances at hand. My dog was taken care of and the staff were extremely pleasant and attentive regardless of the late hours and somewhat high volume of pets in the facility!
Christel Burris
To all you people who say they are money hungry, here's my story. We have a 5 1/2-month German Shepherd who had a tick on his eyelid. We tried everything to get the tick off but he was too fidgety. So now it's Memorial Day 2010 and we have to get that tick off. Called REACH and they said sure, minimum $86 for the visit. Drove from Marshall and got there around 1. They took the tick off and told us there would be no charge whatsoever. I was very impressed and disappointed at the same time that I couldn't have them as my primary vet!
Nola Cooper
After a bad experience at another local vet; even though we were at REACH for a sad reason, Dr. Horne was wonderful with us. Everyone at REACH was great from start to finish. Dr. Horne's caring and honesty helped us through a difficult morning. I would recommend REACH to anyone who asks for a vet or animal hospital in the Asheville area.
Peter Phelps
They were caring and compassionate and helped us say goodbye to our 19 year old little kitty we've had since he was 6 weeks old.
Elise Lewis
I can't say enough good things about REACH in Asheville. They treated my pet like he was their own. They're kind, talented and efficient. They made an unfortunate emergency hospital visit as painless as possible.
Elizabeth Moore
First time ever having to go through a vet for pet issues but i can surely say that thanks to Scott it’s been much easier and alot less stressful! He had the upmost respect for me tonight along with patience and all the right answers i was looking for. Again thank you so much Scott and the rest of the REACH Team for you services. Just know its very very appreciated.
