Was a great place to take my dog. The staff from the receptionist, to the vet tech, to the doctor that actually took care of my dog, they were all awesome and acted like it was their own dog. What a great place. Dr. Heather Sinclair was awesome in how she treated my animal. Very practical in her application, and allowed me to have input. This time, the high reviews that I looked into before going there were correct! I have to thank my neighborhood for suggesting this place. As you can see in the pics, I have a very happy camper for a dog.

I have never felt in better hands at a vet. Doctor Heather Sinclair helped a rabbit I had happened upon that greatly needed help. I had gotten him a few days prior and was having the hardest time finding an exotic vet to help him. Midnight had terrible ear infections, what looked like a weepy eye and a bad leg. I had spent every day trying to get him an appointment somewhere but with no avail! Finally I had enough waiting. I was directed to Haw Creek by another emergency vet near Hendersonville, gave them a call and they called me right back saying to bring him. I came in close to closing time but they assured me that they would see my rabbit before they closed. Everyone of the techs were amazing as well, While unfortunately because I was a little hysterical I can't really remember any of their names. They all made sure to be helpful, kind and reassuring. Dr. Sinclair removed a colony of mites from his ears and cleared the abscess next to his eye and made sure to give me all the instructions and medicine he will need. I really cannot wait for his next appointment. Midnight had perked up almost instantly and is so playful, just a few days after. I really couldn't see taking my pets anywhere else, any more. Thank you, Haw Creek Animal Hospital. I can tell you all are true animal lovers.

AMAZING Care for my furry and feathered family. Have had several emergencies with my pets and they have been able to work them in, with minimal wait. They are in business for the right reasons...the care of the pet. Have brought my dog in for some bleeding injuries, a duck for a fox attack and a goose for a bobcat attack. Dr. Sinclair is a great, compassionate bird doctor, which a bird vet is hard to find in the first place. The prices compared to other vets for emergencies is crazy expensive but haw Creek doesn't make you decide on fixing your pet or feeding your kids. So glad I found them. Transfered my dog care to them and have saved at least half on my yearly checkup and shots. Can't say enough good things! Thank you for being their for my animal family.

I brought my snake here earlier last year and the vet techs were so compassionate and helpful. So willing to try and help me and my snake, though unfortunately he did pass that same day. The vet who helped me sent a very thorough email regarding his condition and told me she would always be available to call and chat if I had any questions. About a week after he passed I received a card in the mail with the staffs signatures consoling me over my snake's death and it was so sweet to me that they would go the extra mile to send me a card. Thank you Haw Creek!

After moving here and being a customer for only 3 weeks, my precious Nikki passed away on 10/12. The vet took me to a private room, where he layed on my lap and peacefully passed away. Everyone here is great, from the receptionist, to the techs, to the vets. I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for taking such good care of him. Highly recommend!

Have been taking my dogs here for years. The staff is very thorough and even though sometimes it's almost annoying, it's because of that thoroughness that they do such a great job. They seen to be VERY caring of any animal that walks through their doors. Prices are what I would consider average for a vet, a little bit lower would be awesome, but for the care my animals get and to know they're alright is really priceless so I'm not gonna complain too much about average prices with over the top service quality. Their hours are also a big plus for me. I work odd hours but I can almost always schedule an appointment with them that works for both parties. I haven't used that many vets in my lifetime because thankfully I've had great luck with the ones I've chosen. HCAV being one of those choices. 🐾

Haw creek animal hospital has been a life saver! My mom's cat was sick and they managed to squeeze him in at 7 pm so we didn't have to go to the emergency vet. I also took a cat that I was pet sitting who had an emergency and they were able to see him twice in 2 days. I was so worried and freaking out over the poor cat, but they were able to see him, treat him, and talked to his owners on the phone to explain how he was doing. I can't say enough good things about the people working here. They are kind, compassionate, and they care about the animals and the owners peace of mind.

Our regular vet is closed on Sunday and is closed today for Memorial Day. I didn't want our Dottie to have to wait until tomorrow to be seen at our regular vet for the undiagnosed pain that she was experiencing. I called right after 8am and spoke to Whitney. They were able to work us in before they started taking their regular appointments at 9am. We got there at 8:50am and were taken right back to a treatment room. Amanda was our vet tech and Dr Holden was our vet. I can't say enough good things about this practice and the people who work here! I have seen glowing reports about Haw Creek Animal Hospital on social media for years. Now we understand why they are so highly recommended! As a first time client, I thought that their prices were very reasonable. They are open 7 days a week until 11pm! They are here for us when we need them the most. I'm 99% sure that we have found our new veterinary practice.

Used a vet closer to me due to distance but recently went back after having a bad experience and misdiagnosis with my former vet. Excellent care and prices are still reasonable. Best part is they are open weekends and evenings to fit my work schedule without having to take a day off. They see exotic pets as well and took great care of my Amazon parrot when he got sick. Highly recommend.

Exceptional service!! We took our chinchilla late one night (amazing perk that they're open until 11pm 7 days a week!!!). The lady at the front desk was wonderful, the vet tech and the provider were both outstanding!!! We are now regular clients and intend to continue our patronage - even with an hour drive!!

EXOTIC PET, EMERGENCY This hospital was fantastic all around. I brought my Chinchilla to an emergency hospital all the way from Anderson, SC to Knoxville, TN in the middle of the night. My chinchilla stayed overnight at this other hospital and I was told that she was doing well and that I could bring her home. However, about halfway back, she started to go into cardiac arrest. I called Haw Creek Animal Hospital and they told me to rush her in and they would see her. I ran her in and they brought her to the back right away. Unfortunately, she was passed saving by the time we arrived. However, the doctor was super supportive and let me have some time with her to say goodbye. They ended up euthanizing her, but they were not pushy about it at all. The entire experience was traumatic and I lost one of my bestfriends. But, Haw Creek was the only part of the experience that made it feel a little bit less bad. Thank you guys for all that you did for me.

They are helpful, friendly, great at keeping you informed of your wait and all around incredible. The vet was great as well. Very professional and caring and great with the dog. Very efficient protocols and very pleasant staff. You stay in your vehicle, they get your pet for exam, the vet will come out to discuss the results with you. When they return your pet, they will take your payment at that time. Such a gracious establishment! They do have extended hours each day for urgent visits as well as over the weekend. Highly recommend this team if you truly care about your pets' health.

We were visiting from Florida and needed attention for our pup, not what you want when so far from home. Dr. Nelson was wonderful! Staff treated us well and got us into a room quickly. Been my vet for 3 cats, and now my 3rd dog. (4 cats now.) Awesome people. I think the world of Heather. And the staff is the best. Their shot prices were actually lower than the pet supermarket clinics. Go figure. And they are open 7 days a week till 11 pm. Not expensive emergency hospital just because it's after 5. Part of the worst part of being between pets is not seeing the folks at Haw Creek. That's alot to say about a vet! 5 stars.

I love Dr. Sinclair, Dr. Feiler, and Dr. Holden. They cared for my old girl Hannah (with the boots) for the last 2 years of her life. We tried everything to ease her arthritis pain and they even recommended several holistic approaches. All the vets there have always been so kind and caring and attentive. The wait times can be a little long but it's totally worth it to get the personalized care we've received for so long. I will always take my dogs to them. I highly highly highly recommend them. I can't possibly say enough good things.

Highly recommend. Love their extended hours! My first time visit was an emergency. I waited 1-1/2 hrs for the clinic to see my cat on a busy Sat, but worth it. Staff and docs are kind, patient and knowledgeable. They're equipped to process bloodwork while you wait and provide counsel and meds. My poor old cat is feeling so much better now!

Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable across the board, not just the vets. Even though they are always busy, they take the time to make sure your pet is cared for and you understand all treatment. So thankful for them! We have taken a bearded dragon and tortoise to them, and both were squeezed in on emergency visits even though they are so busy. I would recommend them to anyone.

These folks are honestly just the best. They treated my dog after he was mauled. They’ve followed his care really attentively and he’s made a full recovery. Every step of the way, they were really up front about pricing, and the cost of every visit is always very reasonable and fair. I never feel like I’m being sold unnecessary add-ons or guilted into springing for things I can’t afford, something I’ve encountered with past vets. The whole staff is really professional and friendly, always communicating effectively and, simply based on how much my very anxious dog likes them, their bedside manner is what all vets should aspire to.

We did not have to go in for treatment. We thought our dog had eaten acorns but were not sure. So we decided to wait it out. ( he has had these symptoms before) it was a couple hours before closing for them. I had not called them back to cancel. They called me to see how our boy was doing and if we still needed to come in.They wanted to make sure they had enough staff on hand if he needed a possible surgery. I thought this to be very responsive and professional, as this type of service is very few and far between now days. p.s. we are not patients of theirs so I would definitely use them in the future!!!!!!!

My dog's vet was not available to see her urgently, so they recommended Hawcreek Animal Hospital. Not only did they get me an appointment that day, they took excellent care of my dog while she was there and called to check on her after. Everyone was so pleasant to work with, all of my questions were answered, and my dog's plan of care was throughly explained. I highly recommend this Animal Hospital.

So my husband brought home a dog, that I was like “sure it can stay until we find it’s owner” And then it grabbed my dog by the neck. At 7pm on a Friday. When we were broke. Like day before payday we had 150$ broke. Couldn’t get a loan anywhere. Called around and nobody would help. She had legit holes in her neck. They had a 91$ urgent care exam fee. We figured okay. We’ll pay us and at least they can tell us if she’ll be okay. I told dr.Nelson our circumstances, and she said “I got you sis” Five stitches later, some pain meds and antibiotics, (and definitely some tears) my girl was all sewn up. Forever grateful.

Everyone here is super animal- friendly as any veterinarians should be! Vets and vet techs talk to their "patients," play with them and give them love putting both humans and animals at ease. Their concern is genuine. I love visiting with the inhouse cat and the chinchillas! Plus their fees are very reasonable and they offer emergency services.

I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Haw Creek Animal Hospital. When my border collie decided to eat an entire tennis ball the other night, causing an obstruction in his bowel, they were wonderful advocates for him. Dr. Nelson was the surgeon that evening and handled the entire event with great tact. She truly had his best interest at heart advocating for him to have X-rays, which led to an emergency surgery. She also called me late after the surgery and went into great detail about what happened and how he was recovering (which I appreciated immensely). After the surgery was complete and he was back home, the staff was amazing at answering all my calls and questions (a big shoutout to Sam and Amanda for always taking down my questions and returning my calls). Dr. Sinclair also took the time to soothe any of my worries I had post-op and answer all of my questions over the phone. This team really cares about their clients, don't hesitate to put your loved one in there care.

Our dog got a sizable laceration while out of town and we ended up at MedVet because that was the only place with availability when it first occurred. They quoted $1000 and wanted to do internal testing for a clearly external injury. Because that experience was so thoroughly bad, we tried treating the injury at home for a few days but ultimately decided to go to Haw Creek, where we had had a great experience before with our other dog after hours. They never shamed us for trying to treat it at home and the vet even came to the car to explain the treatment plan and associated costs in person. At every point the experience was more personal and positive. Other reviewers are right that you do have to wait quite a bit at every stage of the process, but with a variety of pets experiencing a variety of emergencies- and therefore different levels of care- that totally makes sense.

Pollinate Collaborations

I love Dr. Sinclair. She took care of my cattle dog for a decade. My dog was scared of the vet but loved Dr. Sinclair. After ten years, however, I can no longer spend up to 1.5 hours waiting for my scheduled appointment. The wait times were always such that I would call in advance to see if they were on time before heading in. However, my last visit was when my dog was nearing the end and I wanted a check in on her to be sure she wasn't suffering. I literally waited 1.5 hours and then told the front desk that I could wait no longer (it was 9:30 p.m. at that point) and left with my dog. When took my dog there to put her down a few weeks later, but I never had any follow up from anyone about how tardy they were on our final appointment. It's a shame because Dr. Sinclair, IMO, is the best. Making people wait for crazy amounts of time without any explanation and consistently is just rude. We switched to another vet with our new puppy, and while I don't like the vet as much, we get in and out quickly.

After discovering my toddler had lodged a bead into my cat's ear, I spent a Saturday morning calling multiple vets. Haw Creek Animal Hospital was able to fit me into an urgent appt. within 1 hour. Another beloved vet in this area retired, therefore I am switching to Haw Creek Animal hospital because of their fine reputation. I have also had several interactions with their vets in the past. Many of my friends go there too. Our first visit with Rusty last week was in the pouring rain and thunder. The staff member Cheyenne and vet Dr Nelson were friendly, knowledgeable, and poised despite attending to us in the pouring rain during our drive up appointment. They recommended and explained additional preventative measures to enhance Rusty's health and for that we are grateful. 💖

We’ve always appreciated their honesty and determination toward the best care for our pets. They keep long hours for a vet. I have a rabbit (which is a specialty for vets, not all vets will treat my sweetie girl), and they are always so loving and attentive to my bunny. They have helped educate me in what type of medicines and diet I could try to help her have the happiest, hoppiest life. I started using this vet after COVID, so I've never been inside but they are taking it very seriously and being safe and having pet parents wait outside so the baby pets can get treated. I trust their advice and never hesitate to call ever for small things, and they always take all my concerns very seriously. I would recommend if you have an "exoctic" species. ør even if you have a cat or a dog :)

My partner recently moved to this area and had not yet chosen a new veterinarian. His beloved dog came down with an emergency health issue tonight so we called Haw Creek Animal Hospital since they were open until 11pm. Right off the bat, we were pleased with the professionalism and explanation of how the curbside visit would be handled. We were asked to call when we got into the parking lot, which we did. The receptionist explained that a life-threatening pet emergency was also en-route and that our wait might be longer. We are pleased that they triage well (our pups need was not life-threatening). Our "check-in" was done over the phone and when it was our turn, the pup friendly tech came to the car, took notes to document our concerns and took our pup inside. Within a brief time, we received a call to say they found no abdominal issues and, that they would like to run some bloodwork. We agreed, and within a short time, we received a 2nd call from the Veterinarian who explained the bloodwork what it showed. She explained what meds she would be prescribing. We were given time to ask questions and were well informed. A few minutes later, the tech came and took our card and delivered the pup. When she returned with our receipt, she also provided the medicines and gave a full explanation of when/how to give the meds. We left knowing our pup will be feeling better soon. Thank you to professional and caring staff at Haw Creek Animal Hospital. You turned our emergency into a sigh of relief!

I took my dog to Dr. Heather Sinclair to be tested for free T3/T4 thyroid, and to have some lumps biopsied, things my current vet wasn't doing. My dog loved Dr. Sinclair from the get-go and she spent a long time, explaining what they were testing for and why. I felt very well taken care of. The wait can be long to see Dr Sinclair, however it is well worth it!!

Man oh man.....I can not say enough good things about this vet!!! I had recently changed vets because my Large animal vet was at another office but boy did I regret that! After not getting the same treatment from other offices I litterally went running back. My girl needed emergency surgery and they fit me in the same day and did surgery that night. Dr. Sinclair is amazing and HONEST and does not give you the run around that I was experiencing at the other vet. I love Ted Wright for my horses but when it comes to my furbabies, its Dr. Sinclair all the way!!!! I am a 15 year customer of theirs and I will be for LIFE! I cannot express my gratitude for the staff. I came in with my basset hound in a state of panic after a mass had ruptured in her mouth. They got her in on one of their bussiest days of surgery and not only cared for her, but at the same time another emergency/unexpected dog. In the middle of my boyfriend and I’s relocation to Asheville, we had to put our sweet dog down due to age and some health issues. Her health began declining quickly and we knew it needed to be done within the next few days. The staff was very accommodating, not to mention the great hours for those that work first or second shifts. The doctor and vet tech had great bedside manners and made the process as comfortable as it could possibly be (keeping in mind we were emotional wrecks). First of all I want to say Haw Creek is the best vet we have ever used (5 stars) and I am very thankful for your professionalism and care you have given Murphy and Sully. I do, however, believe you need to know what happened to our precious Murphy with the following review that was published online on the Upstate Vet Clinic website in Greenville SC: On Saturday, June 13, we took our cat, Murphy, to this clinic because the Asheville site was not seeing emergencies that day. Our Asheville vet also contacted Upstate to let them know we were coming. We arrived at 12:00 noon. Murphy was taken into the clinic around 12:45 pm. At 2:00 pm, I called to get an update and was told he is resting comfortably and someone would call us.....no call I called one other time and never got a response.This is the last time we could get an update on Murphy. By 10:30 pm, my husband went inside and told them we needed to know something and he would be back 15 minutes. We both went back to the door in 15 minutes and it was locked with two people sitting at their desks inside. I know there were emergencies that day and do not begrudge a pet being seen before Murphy. But to wait in our car from 12:00 noon until 11:00 pm (11hours) was the most unprofessional and uncaring thing my husband and I have ever experienced. Murphy stayed at the clinic overnight. He died on Sunday, June 14 having been diagnosed with an hemangiosarcoma.

We're new in town from the West coast and they we're incredibly helpful sharing information about tick and worms which are a lesser issue in the Pacific Northwest. I didn't feel pressured to commit to any additional services or medications on the spot and the price was far more reasonable than I expected. I provided only four stars because I did find it a bit challenging to receive a prescription from them to ultimately order meds from an online retailer. My budget is tight. Ultimately they did follow through on providing the prescription after a few reminders.

I have a funny story to share. A friend called me on the phone (which she never does) and said she had a pet emergency and had to get to the vet, as her car was in the shop. I was cleaning house, which I normally do in this ratty dress and no underwear. But being a pet owner myself, I raced out of the house not even bothering to put on shoes. Well, I was only going to drive her there, leave her my car and her husband was going to pick me up right after, so what the heck? However, we get there and she asks me to carry her purse and bag in for her while she carries the dog. I try to hide how absolutely mortified I am to walk in there in a ratty dress, sweaty from cleaning house, with no makeup, no shoes and no underwear. Normally, I am very put together. But my condition did not faze anyone there in the least and I waited inside with her until her husband got there. In that time, a tech had already been in to collect a stool sample and the vet was on her way in. Thank goodness they didn't know I didn't have any underwear on!

And then, in true Heather Sinclair perfection, she went from brilliant doctor to compassionate animal lover. Hershey was left standing with dignity. Two techs stabilized his body. My son's hands served as a muzzle, and Heather was on her knees, on the floor, chomping nails, using quick stop, listening to my Oooo's and finally sat back and said "Look at that. He's standing better." Another perfect visit.

We took our nine year old Lab in on a Saturday night and within minutes they had diagnosed and treated her (she had a stick wedged between her molars that we could not see). They removed the stick and consulted with us, but never stopped petting and consoling her. It is clear that they care about each pet they see. We went in worried she needed surgery and left laughing! Dr. Sinclair and Haw Creek Animal Hospital are, by far, the best veterinarians in town. Also open during evening hours for normal appointments and emergency care, which was a saving grace when our dog was really sick. A friend recommended Dr. Sinclair to me some years back after receiving outstanding and compassionate care for their beloved family greyhound at the end of her life. At the time, our pets were receiving care elsewhere and I was relatively satisfied, but.. also appalled at the expense versus the level of care. Then, our youngest dog became terribly ill suddenly, -- having inexplicable seizures, foaming at the mouth, lost the use of her back legs & bladder, and other neurological symptoms. Ruby didn't test positive for toxins or any of the diseases that would cause those sort of symptoms. Everyone was stumped & it was an emergency situation. An employee at another vet's office recommended Haw Creek over any other emergency care in Asheville. Dr. Sinclair accepted Ruby as a patient and right off the bat, had a gut instinct and a plan that was effective in stabilizing her, despite not yet knowing the cause. She, literally, worked day and night, off and on for weeks -- drawing from her own knowledge and past experience, consulting with other doctors and researching to resolve the mystery. While others would have simply given up and put her down, Dr. Sinclair was really patient, determined and dedicated to Ruby's health. You would think we would have had to get a second mortgage on our home for care like that, but they were very conscious of keeping all affordable and empowering us to make responsible choices, which helped us keep costs down & manageable. I am happy to report that thanks to Haw Creek, Ruby is fully recovered now and a happy, healthy pup. I was so impressed with this vet & recommend Dr. Sinclair and her team to EVERYONE seeking health care for their animals in WNC.

I discovered Haw Creek Animal Hospital when my dog starting having back pain two days before Christmas in 2012. I knew taking him to some of the other emergency hospitals in Asheville would be very expensive (lesson learned the hard way) so I gave them a try. They were very compassionate and patient with him even though he was being aggressive due to the pain and of course being scared. About 7 months later me and my husband took in another one of our dogs who had developed a severe hematoma on his left ear. When we took him back several weeks later to have the stitches removed we were expecting to have to have him sedated since he does not do well with strangers. To our surprise they were able to remove all his stitches with just having him muzzled which was no small feat considering trying to find the sutures in all the fur that was on his ear. Again they were very patient with our dog and did a wonderful job. I recommend them to all my friends and family who are pet owners.

I can not say enough about Dr. Sinclair. I experienced a huge scare with my 5 pound senior Chihuahua. I literally thought she was dying -- but I didn't know why. It turns out that she had a major blood-sugar dip. She was fading in & out of consciousness because of low blood sugar. Dr. Sinclair spent an extremely generous amount of time with my dog. The examination was very thorough, but more importantly, she patiently took the time to sit and talk to me about my dog and ask about her history. Dr. Sinclair is the best of the best. Extremely knowledgeable, thorough, trained in homeopathy and acupuncture as well. Recently we needed an urgent care visit for our senior kitty. Chester ingested some string from a rotisserie chicken and, of course, we were going out of town the next day. It was after 6 pm on a Wednesday and I called the clinic and they recommended we bring him by. Chester was injected with a medication to induce vomiting - and it literally took about 5 minutes and the string was out of his system. The visit was only $82 and we couldn't have been happier and Chester acted like nothing had ever happened. Was very grateful for the expanded hours at Haw Creek and the level of care!
