Took the sunset cruise to view the cherry blossoms and it was incredible! Perfect way to view the beautiful trees and the monuments lit up at night. Great host and captain. Highly recommend!!

They ran the cruise even though it was myself and the youngster only. Service was pretty decent though I called to ask about where it was and the first time they gave me a location and we got there and nothing, called again only to be told we had to be at a different location miles away with only 15 minutes before our cruise was supposed to leave. They put us on the later one with no issue. The captain? (The guy that drove the boat) was a little lax because it was only the 2 of us, however the other gentlemen (can not remember his name, he made us leave the top deck for the low bridges and lowered the antennas etc and said he would help us if we wanted any of the snacks available for purchase) he was awesome. Super friendly, funny, chatted with us and was nice to the kiddo. He definately made up for the lack of interaction with the driver of the boat.

Good for watching sunset and have a drink in the boat. Not a whole lot of monuments you can see. I am not sure about the day trip especially when it's sunny. It's not like a Statue of liberty boat ride which is nice day time or evening.

The sightseeings are bit far from our cruise, but there is bilingual language (english and chinese) explain history about the city, river, and those sights. Some of the views are block by the trees. Photograph lovers better bring good camera and lens for capture the views. The small refresh bar is really small and it is near by the restrooms which is really really really smelly. That’s why I wish to get drinks but end-up didn’t buy anything. Wish they can improve a little.

I had a really fun time on this company’s boat… and great views of the monuments. The boat itself is very modern looking and has two decks. I spent most of the time on the upper deck, but my girlfriend went downstairs after a while to warm up. The drinks were reasonable in price. My girlfriend liked the fruity Deep Blue mixed cocktail which was about $8. I had a couple of beers that were crafty-type choices which were $6. The seating was really comfortable – choice of couches or chairs on deck 1, and patio-style chairs on the upper deck. The crew was a friendly group and really made us feel welcomed. Also, the point of departure is located along the waterfront where there were some restaurants which allowed us to have dinner following the cruise.

We were just with DC cruises last night for July 4th, and we had an awesome time! Definitely the best way to see the fireworks and this was the best value deal we found. You’re always going to pay a premium for holidays and special events, so definitely can’t complain about their price point. We were on the double decker boat and they put out extra chairs for everyone so we could all sit up there - there was plenty of outside space for people to be comfortable and move around. The views of the monuments were really good, we anchored up right in front of the Washington Monument for the fireworks and our view was absolutely perfect. We got free champagne and chocolate strawberries as the fireworks went off which was a nice touch. A lot of reviews mention the dock being hard to find and there being no sign, but the tickets said to go directly in front of Nick’s, and sure as anything there was a DC Cruises sign directly in front of Nicks. We were also pleasantly surprised to hear that they were boarding based on who booked first, which was nice for us as we booked way ahead of time. We also got drinks from the bar (which isn’t a full bar by any means but there’s definitely something for everyone!) and the rum and pineapple cocktail was tasty and pretty strong considering the reasonable pricing. The only one complaint I have was that there was absolutely no respite from the heat inside or outside as with all the doors open the AC wasn’t making any difference anywhere. But that’s not really the company’s fault it was like 100 degrees! The staff I spoke to were all very polite and nice, no complaints at all there. Definitely recommend for something fun and different to do for a special occasion, especially to see the fireworks on the mall!

This was a last minute decision made earlier in the day that I do not regret. I have visited D.C. many times but never had the chance to take in the views of the national mall and waterfront in this manner. DC Cruises offered drinks, music, and the unconventional seating a la plastic patio chairs. If you’re on time and manage to get on the boat first, the best seats are the built in seats at the top. Otherwise, you’ll have to sit in those awful plastic chairs and have #numbbums™ when you get up, possibly even wobbly legs. Funny but not fun. It was a breezy 67° night, perfect for an evening tour of the nations capital. I highly recommend this boat tour for locale residents and tourists.

Responding to review above: Our daytime tours [12p-5pm HAVE narration. Cruises after 6pm - including our Happy Hours, Moonlight tours, and DJ parties - do not, just lots of music. [we explain that on our website, so please choose the cruise that's right for you!]. [Note: rarely needed., but on narrated tours, if the crew receives a complaint that someone's being too loud, they might suggest he/she go to outdoor deck]

It was nice and peaceful. I went during the afternoon. If you use groupon the boat might look different than the posted picture. But in would definitely go again. It's a short nice activity.

The cruise itself was ok but the itinerary is not amazing. At least the cruise that I took which was from Alexandria Virginia to Georgetown Washington DC. It sounded like a great idea but you're pretty far away from all the monuments so you don't really get any great views.

I went for the Cherry Blossom festival but it was to cold that day. There will be a line and a wait. Once you get on the boat you should sit close to the rail or you have other peoples heads in the pictures you take. It's a short trip down the Pantomimic River. Overall it was an OK . The Tour was boring for me. There was no official guide rather a recorded script. It so much as pointed out landmarks and resided a few facts. I went with a group of ladies and that made it fun.

I went on the happy hour cruise and it was a pleasant activity, but there were a few things that could be improved. There was only one bartender, so the line was always obnoxiously long, get your drinks in bulk. They do take credit cards. A staff person mentioned historic sites in the beginning, but it was difficult to hear. And now that the sun is setting earlier, you could only see things for the first 1/2 hour or so. The rest of the trip didn't have a lot of sites along the water that were interesting.

The people were very friendly. It was a nice tour with a great view of the cherry blossoms. It goes around Haines Point, the peninsula next to the Jefferson Memorial. It has the best view of the blossoms from the water.

If u have some good deal package or of u are kayaking or with relaxing with friend, this spot it's ok, nothing much to see, some interesting facts, such as the Titanic monument are nice, other than that, it's just a boat ride. Don't pay for it, you might be dissapointed.

We booked thru Groupon and what a deal. The Captain and staff were great and the cash bar has plenty of options. It rained for our cocktail cruise, but it was still fun.

Had great cruise along the Potomac. Lots of things to see - closeup of Lincoln Mem, Kennedy Ctr, and Jeff... and an Osprey or Eagle (not sure which). Captain knew a lot. Nice crew.

If you use the GroupOn and want to use it on the weekend, make absolute sure you still register online for a weekend time. Those instructions are buried on the GroupOn site. Good little trip, chill time.

It was only okay. I'm happy that I did it and scheduled it for a day during my DC trip when I just needed a break. The harbor is next to nothing else and you'll have to take an Uber.

It is a typical boar ride down and up the river. You go pretty far the turn around. They could improve in the music an entertainment.

Nice touristy thing to do. I suggest taking the roundtrip cruise that coincides with sunset, so that you can see the memorials, Reagan airport, and Alexandria harbor by both day and night.
