Reviews of Chicago Gangsters and Ghosts Tours
MS. Sandy
It was a very great experience. My friend and I were in Chicago celebrating our birthdays and we each chose different activities to do while in Chicago. This gangsta walking tour was my pick because I love hearing anything relating to history but her not so much; but even my friend seemed to enjoy this activity as well. Yes there was a lot of walking and she was a little irritated when I told her how long we would be walking on top of it was very hot the day we went but really she ended up enjoying it too because as people who are not familiar with the area we had someone who was walking us around and showing us a lot of the hot spots in the area this was nice because without the tour guide we would have gotten lost trying to find these different spots which we did get lost on previous Chicago trips and when we were exploring on our own. Even if you have a GPS to help you which we did and it malfunctioned and had us walking more than we wanted to; but with this tour and tour guide he knew exactly how to get around and knew different historical locations. It was nice and we met a lot of cool people within the tour group. Very nice and I plan to do this tour every time I visit Chicago

Baylor was a good tour guide and has a great passion for all the history about the city. Loved the info about the pasts of Chicago and about Al Capone! The ghost stories were good too. Overall learned a lot about part of the history of Chicago!
Definitely recommend but hope the trip was a little bit more cheaper, considering it's just a walking tour with no actual fees involved to get you into any venues!

This tour was absolutely amazing! Our tour guide Kai was very accommodating and made sure we could hear all the history she had to share for us as well as give us some time to take photos and admire everything she was showing us. While the weather was not the best, it was still a tour I'll never forget due in big part to Kai. So, for whoever is reading this, if you ever find yourself in Chicago, definitely take this tour!
Denise Ysabelle
My friend and I were having so much fun listening to our tour guide, Conor, teach us about the dark history of Chicago. He took us to the Chicago River, the Death Alley, Congress Hotel, and where the first brownie ever in the world was made. Such a great experience and totally worth it!
Amanda Droll
Such a fun way to explore the city and hear the most fascinating stories about mobsters and ghosts in the city of Chicago. Kai, our tour guide was awesome! Super engaging and knowledgeable. Attached are some photos of some of the sights we saw during the tour. We stopped at the Palmer House which had a stunning interior, unique history and the world’s first brownie!
Vincent Williamson
The best tour! Braedon was a great guy and new ALOT history. The tour crowd was awesome! It was easy to book, easy to find, and a great way to spend a mid morning learing about Chicago, history, events, and Al Capone.
Ashley Dotson
Doug was very knowledgeable and viewed storytelling as any other art. For almost 2 hours, we walked to many landmarks and heard stories interwoven into the landscape, society and architecture of Chiacgo. My family of 5 toured in December at 30 degrees! The temperature didn't bother us too much as we dressed well and brought a bottle of water. There was a short break at the Palmer to warm up and grab a drink.
For the past 15 years, my family always schedules a ghost tour on every vacation we take. Doug on the Ghost and Gangsters tour was one of the best!
Diana Bonuomo
Had a great time on this tour! Lizzie was pleasant and fun and really knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour, but make sure to bring your walking shoes because it really is a bunch of waking. It was nice to see Chicago lit up at night too! The tour ended at the infamous Congress Hotel and it was fun to learn about the different spooky things that happen in the hotel! Thanks for a great evening!
Update! Be ware of the ghosts following you home. Our hotel TV wouldn't shut off and kept turning back on every time we tried to turn it off after the tour was over. We ended up unplugging it to get it to finally shut off! We were warned it may happen. The TV was fine before and the day after. Just had issues that same night. Coincidence or ghosts? You be the judge!
Matthew Wylder
You should go on this Incredible tour! My guide Conor brought tons of extra knowledge, energy and he really set the scene for some creepy stories. I learned a lot and it was a great way to start my trip.
Manny Rubio
Was a nice walk and fun experience, enjoyed how well Alan (our tour guide) explained everything and added bits of laughter. I would recommend to anyone who would like to know more about Chicago history and view all the architecture of the city.
Annika Crossley
I booked this tour for our weekend trip to Chicago. It was a perfect combo of our interests - he loves gangster movies/shows and I love true crime and paranormal stories! Adam was our tour guide and he was great. It’s a great way to walk around the city for a little while too especially if you’ve never been to Chicago.
Tim Jensen
Excellent tour. Our guide was Connor, who was fantastic; he spoke loudly and clearly, so the whole group could hear him, and it was obvious that he knew his Chicago history. My son and I both enjoyed the stories.
A few things to be aware of, so you're prepared (my wife made the reservation, so I wasn't): First, you'll be expected to tip at the end. There will be lots of walking, so wear appropriate shoes. Lastly, the tour ends at roughly Michigan Ave and Ida B. Wells Drive, so be sure to factor that in to your plans. Depending on where you're coming from, you might want to get an Uber or take a bus afterwards.

Brayden/ Brandon was gifted a $20 gratuity for two.
• Arrived 15 minutes early.
• Bathroom / Cafe’ break halfway.
• Started at Hoyt’s Restaurant.
• Ended near Millennium Park.
• Tour consisted of walk/stop/walk/stop/etc.
Guide has engaging, peppy, knowledgeable personality.
A fantastic story teller.
Already repeated his stories.
Expected a corny, dry tour.
Received an enjoyable lengthy walk, captivating stories, laughs and questions answered.
Tired.
Would do it again!
Shilo Mitchell
This is a must do while here. Tour guide was awesome and knowledgeable. Learned so much more about history of Chicago and the mobsters! Fantastic tour
Tina Rose
This was an excellent tour and Kai did an amazing job telling the stories of the city. We do these kinds of tours frequently in different cities and this was by far one of my favorites!
Olivia Orr
I would 100% recommend this tour to others. My tour guide Conor made the experience one to remember. He was so kind, knowledgeable about the city and truly has a craft for story-telling. He kept the crowd engaged the whole time. The tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes along with a small break, but Conor made the time fly by. I did go late October so it was a bit chilly. If going around this time I would recommend to wear a coat, scarf, hat, gloves and some comfortable shoes! Happy touring!
Jaciel
Keep in mind the tour will not end where you guys meet up.
Ask for Andre. Super informative and passionate about history. This tour is not too interactive and if maybe it wasn't hosted by someone as engaging and informative as Andre, i don't think it would be highly rated for me. Andre really ended up being a tour guide for Chicago as he answered all our Chicago questions.
Rocky Murillo
I enjoyed the tour very much. It was very very informative. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.I would definitely take the tour again to friends and family on it next time I’m in town.
Amanda Romanello
This was a very fun, informative tour. Learned a lot about Chicago history. Our tour guide Lizzy had a lot of extra knowledge about local architecture and art. Would definitely recommend, and was a great value.
Jeff West
Lizzy was amazing. Such an entertaining tour. Not often can we find something all of us enjoy but this was it. Lizzy was a great guide.
Cara Zamora-Prehn
Andre was amazing! He was so informative and hysterical. We would come back to this tour again - it was such a cool way to explore this beautiful city.
Cynthia Loewen
Andre our tour guide was very informative, had a great sense of humour and made the tour extra fun. He also even talked about Architecture. Very enjoyable.
Wendy Yates
This was a great tour with gangster and ghost stories, as well as little tidbits of other historical/interesting information. Adam was an amazing guide and made it a very entertaining experience!
S Van V
Kai was a great tour guide! We could hear everything, the pace was great, and the information was super interesting. It was just enough spooky and we learned lots of history; humor thrown in while keeping it respectful. We walked to places we wouldn’t have known about and wouldn’t have gone on our own. The 3 of us highly recommend the tour and are so happy we booked it!
Domanette jackson
Kai was absolutely amazing.
The fun facts that was told had my mouth drop.
Very informative and friendly.
One of the best tours I ever been on.
Penny Shinholster
I think the title is a little misleading. It’s not an actual “ghost tour” . You basically tour a small area of the loop and learn a history lesson on Chicago tragedies and history of Al Capone and prohibition. Don’t get me wrong it was interesting it just wasn’t what I was expecting. It’s a VERY long walk so take water with you. The social distancing does NOT occur as the group I was in had 22 people and we were told we didn’t have to wear a mask. I was under the assumption that COVID precautions were part of the agreement of the tour. I did wear my mask the entire time. With it being a street tour a smaller group would have been better to prevent us from being in the way of other pedestrians. Our tour guide was very pleasant and had some quirky little jokes that were funny. It would have been interesting if we could have toured the underground tunnels and actually entered in to some of the places that were “haunted”. Over all it wasn’t horrible. I probably wouldn’t do it again.
Matthew Rios
Let me just say!
Halloween night, great stories and great company. I had to give a shout out to Connor! You're looking for some amazing story telling, some history and some spooky stories that gave me anxiety!
This is your guide!
Thank you for making our time in Chicago so amazing and giving us some amazing historical lessons!
Much love and I hope you see you again one day for some more stories!
Mike and Leslie Boslet
This is a fascinating tour and our guide Kai was so informative and entertaining. Tour was well paced and visited many buildings that I had never discovered before on previous trips. Highly recommend The Palmer House and the Chicago Cultural Center for a return visit. Plenty of photo opportunities and a well paced walking tour. Great history nuggets shared and Kai is a wonderful story teller. Was my favorite outing of our trip!
kris boyd
Adam led. A great time tour. Witty and knowledgable, he shared the stories of Chicago's history and engaged participants on a group and individual level. A great tour and a must do tourist event when in the windy city.
Carryn Osborn
My friends and I had a great time on this tour! The architecture is beautiful and the history is very interesting to learn about. I wouldn’t categorize this tour as spooky, but there are definitely a lot of weird and creepy things that have happened in Chicago. Brandon was our tour guide and he did a great job with the entirety of the walk. He kept the topics light and told the stories well. I would recommend anyone go on this tour to learn more about the city and it’s massive history.
MICHAEL HEINE
Went to Chicago for the first time with my wife and kids and found this tour. It was great. It is a bit of walking, but you are "closer to the action" as a gangster might say. The tour was very informative. Our guide Andre was awesome. He did an excellent job explaining and elaborating on things. He was very interactive and entertaining. I would recommend this tour to anyone who can do the walking. Again, I think it's a great tour, but as Andre would say, I will let you draw your own conclusions.
Loreen Sawatzky
My boyfriend and I loved this tour!! Alan was very knowledgeable and passionate and taught us so much about the city. The tour was a great pace, length, and Alan’s way of storytelling was compelling and magnetic. He even recommended a couple of books we could read to learn more about the stories he told. Highly recommend! What a fun way to get to know Chicago.
Nadine Rewa
We had a great time on our tour with Connor as our tour guide! You could tell he was extremely knowledgeable and that he really had a passion for Chicago and the stories that the area holds. This tour is a great way to see major landmarks while getting to know the cool history and sometimes spooky facts about them along the way. Would absolutely recommend for avid ghost story and mobster lovers. They give plenty of time to take photos and we had a break in the middle for a bathroom breaks and snacks. It is a walking tour so bring some comfy shoes and you'll be good to go! Overall, a wonderful experience.
Leslie LeColst
Awesome experience! Combining gangster stories with ghost stories in one incredible city was very interesting. The dark history of Chicago is always interesting but I was really blown away by Connor's knowledge and his passion for really creating a story and making us feel we lived in those times. Highly recommend. You'll definitely get your steps in so bring good walking shoes!
Robert Fuentes Jr
I participated in the tour with 4 friends and we truly enjoyed this walking tour. Our guide was funny, energetic, personable and always kept track of the entire group. He went beyond the usual story telling and shared his favorite dishes, allowed group banter of where the places to go in the city and tidbits that were beyond the tour agenda. We all enjoyed our time with this walking tour which was more leaning on history rather than to spook people.
Liam Curran
It was a great tour. Alan was the guide and he was very charismatic. I wish him the best of luck in his career at second city. The tours are around an hour and 45 minutes which is good for the price they charge. FYI, the tour is more about the history of Chicago rather than actual scary stories.
JOSEPH CLATER
Our guide Kai was great. She really made the stories come alive! It was HOT during our tour and she went out of her way to keep us in the shade as much as possible. She really knew her stuff! Helpful after tour with questions & directions.
Faithe Picault
Such a fun way to get a bit of history abou the city and a bit of adrenaline too! Conor told the stories in such an engaging way and even threw in some bonus info. Loved it!
T Tracie
We were in town for a getaway and didn't have plans. On a whim we decided to book a walking tour, hoping to get highlights of the city's darker side. Our guide Lizzy was animated and detail oriented. She kept the crowd intrigued and made us all laugh quite often, despite the grim content. We gained a lot of new information about Chicago and enjoyed the tour very much. I highly recommend booking this tour if you're into things of this nature. You will not be disappointed!
Jinda Sekhon
IF YOU GO ON THIS TOUR AND DONT HAVE JANITA AS A GUIDE…..DID YOU EVEN REAL TOUR BRO?? I’m telling you this, tour guide is awesome!!!!!!!!! The tour follows a storyline and her acting and impressions were SO SO good!!! It was like having a tour and show at the same time. She is so so friendly and she always made sure everybody was good (like 25 people!!) , and she is an actual adult and understands that adults might want to stop and do something else but just to let her know. She is so flexible—she is so funny— and above all she’s incredibly knowledgeable, she is without a doubt, the exact person you want to be your tour guide. Here are some awesome shots she took of me!!!!!!!!!!
Sarah Alred
Conor was a great guide! We went on 10/7 at 4pm and he gave very detailed explanations of not only the sights we saw but other tidbits about the history of Chicago. It felt like a themed tour and a history tour all in one! Would recommend to anyone new to Chicago and interested in the paranormal and gangster history of the city.
Kira Barnes
A really fun and informative tour. Be aware you will have to walk! If you are sensitive, there are actual ghosts in Death Alley and you do need to ground and shield to make sure you don't take some of that energy with you. Lots of cool history of gangsters and Chicago architecture. Tour guide Conor is very nice and informed.
Seth Fiermonti
Awesome tour. Learned a ton and get some great tips on places to check out afterwards. Recommend going at night to see everything lit up.
Deby Williams
Visiting from Texas! My sister and brother-in-law brought hubby and I to do this tour. It couldn’t have been any better weather wise. Our tour guide Conner, did an amazing job leading us through the streets of downtown Chicago and telling us all about the stories of Al Capone and the Chicago fires and the ghosts of the SS Eastland that sank in the river. The entire tour was fun and full of information that was fascinating. If you are ever in the area, sign up for this walking tour. You won’t regret it!
Feni Patel
As soon as we started touring with Adam, we realized that we should have book his guide on the very first day of our visit. He was ‘ the guy’ for us , who guided us throughout the lanes of Chicago with so much ease. For the entire tour, we were so hooked with the stories of goons and about all the stories of Chicago fire that we lost track of time completely. He also recommended us to have some of the best brownies and gave us a list of recommendations too. The best part was the piece of Bone that he had in his bag! We really wished that he could be there with us throughout our trip in Chicago! We would highly recommend Adam for anyone and everyone looking out for a trusted , witty tour guide. Three Cheers for Adam!!😊
Author Tim Simpson
You have to do this tour it's impressive not only ghosts and gangsters lots of history!!! And Conner was excellent and knowledgeable about Chicago!
Danielle Bailey
Such a fun adventure. Alan was a fantastic guide, definitely ask for him. He was attentive, informative, and very knowledgeable. This included not only the tour related information but a number of other subjects including, history, art, and Chicago lore. I loved his story telling ways. It made the whole trip fascinating and intriguing.
Carli Kuntze
Our first time visiting Chicago and this tour was great! Lizzy was an amazing guide despite the frigid temperatures. We debated cancelling due to the cold but I’m so glad we didn’t. It was a wonderful tour of the city and some of its history.
Lynn Lamers
We really enjoyed this tour! Connor, our guide, was knowledgeable and personable, and he did a great job projecting his voice to the group over the cacophony of downtown noises. I know some chicago history but most of the stories Connor told, I had never heard before. I always love walking around in the Loop anyway because the architecture is amazing, and then knowing the stories behind some of the buildings makes it so much better. The tour lasts about 1 1/2 hours and you get a little break in the middle at the Palmer House if you need to warm up, get a snack or use the bathroom - or just go in and marvel at the beauty of the place! I recommend this tour!
Kandace Wooldridge
I joined this tour on my first night in downtown Chicago and was so happy I did! Allan was our groups tour guide and he told us so many interesting stories about the events in the area (c.1871-1950's ish), with history of many buildings. He was full of fun information and had great humor as well. Props for being so great during that cold night, Allan!
I was visiting from Canada for work/pleasure and chose to do this tour on my first night downtown of 2 nights. What a great decision it was as I was a tad nervous hearing how unsafe the area can be at times but joining this tour not only made me feel safe my first night alone, but gave me a lay of the land/got my bearings for the next 24 hours downtown Chicago.
I highly recommend this tour, thank you SO much Chicago Gangsters and Ghosts Tours. You were the highlight of my packed itinerary.
One thing I will add is that the tour was a bit pricey for the value but again, I am very happy I went and would 100% recommend.
Chetan Pawar
This tour gives really nice overview of Chicago downtown famous buildings. We booked this last minute and we were so glad we did it. Our guide was Conor. He gave lot of information about different buildings along with their history and stories. Lot of it were connected to Al Capone. Then there were some ghost stories too. Overall it was really nice tour. Me and my wife enjoyed a lot. Tour last for around 2 hours including 20 minute break at Palmers hotel. We took 4-6pm tour but I think night tour would be awesome too.
Lisa Johnson
I’m a Chicagoan, and my out-of-town guests loved this tour. It covered all of the interesting and unusual stories about Chicago that are not well-known to visitors, in addition to giving a view of some of the city’s most iconic landmarks. The length was perfect, and it’s a comfortable and enjoyable walk. My only recommendation is to be sure to dress appropriately for the weather—gloves, hats and warm footwear are essential in winter!
Bill Olson
We had Ty as our tour guide. He was fantastic! I had some oddly specific questions for the tour since I am a huge fan of true crime and he was knowledgeable and helpful! I also highly recommend this tour for the beautiful hotel stop in the middle of the tour. It is a great way to see some extraordinary sights of the city and learn about some dark history along the way!
Josh Bradbury
A wonderful, thoroughly interesting and entertaining tour. Kai, our tour guide was wonderful, they were extremely knowledgeable and very funny and took the tour to the next level. In fact, I would even say that they were one of the best tour guides I've had throughout my travels across the world. Would definitely recommend!!!
Jhanae Latham
My guide Kai was great! She had a lot of interesting information about the city and some of the gangsters. I believe she said she has a master's in history, so that made me like her even more. She was very considerate and open to answering any questions that we had. The walking tour itself was very fun! We saw a lot of sites, got our steps in, and met people from all over the globe in our group.
Philip Cantore
Truly a spooktacular walking tour of Chicago! Kai was wonderful! She’s quite knowledgeable about the sinister past of the Windy City with interesting facts sprinkled in to give everything perspective.
The tour itself is an easy walk, but it does last ~2.5 hrs so make sure everyone in your party can handle that level of activity. For perspective, my 12 yr old rolled her ankle in a cross country meet earlier in the day and was able to hobble along and keep up with the tour.
A wonderful tour made even more enjoyable with a knowledgeable guide like Kai!
Hasan Mahmood
This was a great tour. Our tour guide was Brandon, and he went into detail about each and every site we visited. Much of the information is verified fact, while some is more folklore and legend. Fascinating stories that people have told each other for generations. On this tour you will hear it all with great story telling.
Mike Frearson
Great tour. Our tour guide, Andre, was funny, entertaining and informative. It was great to hear some cool stories about the history of Chicago. We went with a group of 8 and everyone loved it and had a fantastic time. We also loved the pizza he recommended afterwards. Great addition to an amazing weekend in Chicago.
Josh Thomas
Had a great time with our tour guide Connor. An easy walk through the city, lasted a little less than 2 hours with a 15-minute break in the middle. Connor was so knowledgeable and told us stories we’ve never heard before! 100% recommend for a short day activity!
Johanna Pilmoor
Well worth a couple of hours...walking around the loop, learning about Chicago's history. Our tour guide was great ... & made it interesting. I scored it a 5 but would have been better ( at least for us 😀) to end the tour nearer the start, so easier to find our way back to where we were staying. But I recognise that others will know Chicago better so won't be an issue for them!
chevelle blackburne
This tour was a full 5 star experience. Our guide had the best attitude even when it started raining like crazy. He found all sorts of ways to make the tour feel interactive. His storytelling skills were off the chart. I would definitely recommend doing this to anyone, tourist or local. I've lived here most of my life and learned so much more!
Eric Euell
What an amazing 2 hours spent walking through Chicago. Kai was amazing- exactly what you want in a tour guide. Knowledgeable, personable, funny, thoughtful and accommodating.
We would highly recommend this!!
Sharon Steckel
Conor was an excellent guide! As a native Chicagoan, he surprised me with information I never knew and took us through places I’ve never seen. My European cousin joined me and had a fantastic time learning all about our great city. I can’t recommend this tour enough!
Alonz619
Kai was an awesome tour guide. Very passionate on the history of Chicago and was very friendly. I highly recommend this tour for anyone that wants to learn about Al Capone and some of his initial beginnings. Some cool haunted locations are also visited that are all worth the price of the tour.
Shawna Canady
The tour was ok, and the guide was informative and engaging, but I think it was just not really a good fit for our group. We are a pretty lively group. We thought it would have been better if there were less walking and more stops for a chat or a drink. It was just too much "walk to a spot, guide says a few words, repeat." It would have been more engaging if there were stops built in to digest and discuss the information with the guide or with each other.
Mark O
Kai was such an informative and fun guide. The knowledge they had was interesting and all meshed well with the story it was telling. Even gave awesome suggestions to local attractions and places to visit/ eat. Glad I took this tour also gives you ideas of places to sight see while in Chicago!
Julie Noble
I loved this tour so much! Our guide Andre was entertaining and engaged with our group. He made learning about such a morose topic so fun. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone and look forward to going again the next time I’m in Chicago!
Chelsee Donelan
We booked this tour last minute not knowing what to expect, and we’re so happy we did! Connor did such an awesome job as a guide. If you’re interested in the topics, this is an awesome way to see Chicago and spend an afternoon. We also got some great ideas for bars to visit!!
Samantha Najduch
Our guide, Kai, was very personable and knowledgeable which made the experience very enjoyable. Definitely recommend to tourists or even to folks that live in Chicago and want to learn more history about the city.
Kristina Marie
We had the pleasure of having Lizzy as our guide today. Unfortunately we were "those late people" and she was very communicative and kind. She gave an incredible tour and was very knowledgeable and funny. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys a little dark history.
Judy Ngying
Our tour guide, Rosa, was great! Lots of interesting stories, gave time for pictures, and a short break at the Parliament Hotel was so appreciated!! She also helped us with directions yo the brown line, our next destination. We met some folks from our own town on Florida, too. Small world! Our highest recommendation!
Michaela Alessio
Kai was an amazing tour guide! So knowledgeable and funny! Despite the warm temps they did an amazing job making sure everyone felt comfortable and were taken care of.
Vinny Weidner
Fantastic tour. We went to the 8 PM tour which definitely added to the mood, our tour guide Andre was personable, friendly, funny, and informative. We learned so much about the city of Chicago and it’s past of gangsters and atrocities. Had a great time and would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys history, spooky things, and being outside in the city!
Benjamin Hunsaker
Excellent experience! Rosa was super nice and very knowledgeable. She even answered my questions about things that were not related to gangsters or ghosts. I had no idea how many people have died in Chicago. My deepest sympathies to their families! I highly recommend this tour!! Lots of Ferris Bueller sites as well... Bonus!!
Dani Peterson
Such a fun tour! Our tour guide Andre had so much enthusiasm and knowledge about each of the locations we stopped at. Clearly a Chicago native and had some amazing recommendations about local areas and hidden gems. This man deserves a raise for all the work he clearly puts into the tour
Joelie Hernandez
Conner did a great job! He was informational without being dry we really enjoyed the tour.
Leslie's Bookcase LesliesBookcase dot com (Leslie's Bookcase)
My family loved the tour. We have taken ghost/haunted etc. tours in several cities and this ranks among the best with regards to historical stories.
We took the 4pm with Collin. We learned a lot, much of it disturbing (that’s what you expect in such a tour!)
it is quite a bit of walking which is good for us but just be aware of that.
Denise Miller
I and my two teenage Children had a wonderful time during this tour. The tour guide Conor was extremely knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting and exciting even for a teenager. I would definitely recommend it to anybody coming to Chicago on a visit!
Ted Liu
It was a wonderful tour. I had no idea how much hidden history the Chicago Loop had. Our guide Ty is amazing. He is very funny and knowledgeable. Note Chicago winter would be colder than you expected, stay warm.
Mollie Sysko
Very cool tour with lots of information! Lizzie was our guide, and she was awesome; full of energy and you could tell she really enjoys doing this. Our group ranged in age from 10 years old to 69, and everyone loved it. Highly recommend this!
Shawn Popp
This tour was wonderful. So many interesting facts and stories. Connor was friendly, knowledgeable and a great story teller. We absolutely loved it and would do it again. Ps - you should add a part 2 tour! I want more and I bet there’s more to tell!
LM
Our tour guide, Rosa, was phenomenal and I highly recommend you join her group. She is knowledgeable, loud (which is great since there are no mics), charismatic and answered all my questions.
All good things to say about this tour. I’m a local and learned so much. Great tour for other locals and tourists. Highly recommend!

What a great way to explore Chicago and learn some history! Andre was super entertaining and kept us laughing through out the tour! Some of my favourite travel memories are while hanging out with locals who love their city and this was one of them!
Brenna Arney
This was a great tour! Our guide Kai was knowledgeable and engaging. Learned a few ghost and gangster stories that I didn't know. Saw some beautiful buildings in Chicago. Very happy we booked this tour!
Nicholas Havard
Fun and entertaining (especially with the corny jokes). Overall we felt like our guide Kai was very knowledgeable, friendly, and considerate of the patrons time and comfort level. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in Chicago's history.
Kiana Moore
I went to Chicago to visit, and my friend chose this tour as one of our activities. I didn’t have any expectations; however, I was pleasantly surprised at how entertaining and educational the tour was. If you can, take your tour with Conor. The entire group had fun with him. He’s knowledgeable and funny!
Ana Castro
Loved the tour! An hour and a half weren't enough, but I'm glad we get to learn so many things about Chicago.
Our guide was very entertaining, thoughtful, and knowledgable.
Highly recommended!
Barrett Kluttz
Alan was a superb tour guide! My son and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire tour. The pace was perfect for the heat and Alan made sure to keep us in shade whenever possible. I would highly reccomend the tour to anyone looking for a way to spend a few hours!
Patricia Proctor
This tour is awesome! Our guide Baylor (not sure of spelling) was wonderful. This was probably one of the best tours I've been on. We got a long (1.5 hour) walk in and saw most of the Loop, learned so much about the history of the city, and also about some local ghost stories. Go on this tour!
Alvaro Corral
Let me start by saying that Andre was fantastic! A wonderful and engaging storyteller who made sure to answer any questions we may have had. The tour started on time and we had a nice sized group. The reason for my 3 stars is that I paid $80 for two people. The problem is that we were supposed to have a two hour tour and in reality it only lasted one hour. I do not feel that it was worthwhile for what was paid.
Maclaine Leaird
Our tour guide Connor truly has a gift for telling stories. Attended the trip with my mother, aunt, and grandma for Grandma’s 80th birthday. Connor kept a great pace with both the walking and his stories. Truly a wonderful experience to see the city and hear about the history of Chicago.
Linda Thames
Connor was amazing, kept us dry when it started to pour. Great stories about my uncle Alphonso! We enjoyed all of the tour, even death alley. Beautiful buildings, and seeing the Riverwalk was a bonus I wasn't expecting.
Rita Angeloni
This was such a fun night! Brandon was a captivating and funny guide. We learned much about the city’s history and felt connected to its story as we walked through the streets, stopping to listen in great detail. Highly recommend the evening tour in the dark 😱 Thanks Brandon!! 🙌🏻 …
Carl Hollinger
Had a great time on the tour. Good way to spend the time we had before a wedding in the evening. Baylor (spelling?) was cheerful and energetic. Very impressed she was able to run the tour over the constant sirens and boat horns.
Ashley Haney
I had a wonderful time on this tour! Our guide was very enthusiastic and had lots of interesting details to share about Chicago's history. I would highly recommend this tour if you want to learn more about Chicago's fascinating history.
Gary Maffioli
Sarah was our tour guide today. She was very friendly and talked so we could all hear. She was very knowledgeable. We walked about 1 1/2 miles on mostly level side walks. We stopped a lot when she was telling about the areas. We had a rest stop about half way.
Good job.
Andy Wirth
Heidi was our tour guide. She did a great job. We had a wonderful time listening to the stories and learning more about the history of the city. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Alan was a great tour guide. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the Gangsters & Ghosts Tour. I recommend this tour highly, because our guide made the experience a lot of fun. The only small change I would consider is to provide a longer break to get a refreshment or drink.
Daniel Kaupa
For city-natives and out-of-towners alike, an interesting, but relaxed style tour highlighting both well-known gangsters and little known tidbits of Chicago history.
We had Baylor, who was very engaging, friendly and did a great job making sure everyone could hear above the street noise.
Always easy to hear he
Very engaging easy to hear
Codie Tenhagen
Went on the tour tonight with Kai! Very very informative, and factual information! Not to bad of a walk , a stop for a drink at a 1920s hotel , definitely recommended
Ashley Trimble
Andre was very knowledgeable and funny. It was great tour with lots of Chicago history I didn’t know.
Lauren Zottarelli
I love the idea of this tour, but I don’t think the execution was done very well. Our tour guide was not loud enough to hear over the sounds of the city, so I missed a lot of the details of the stories because of that. Also, he would start the stories before we were all caught up, so really overall I probably only heard maybe half of what I was supposed to. I don’t think I would recommend based on my experience, but I’m sure it’s not like this with all the different guides.
Robin Read Griffin
Last week my parents and I visited Chicago and decided to go on this tour. It was a lot of fun and full of cool information. It was a great way to see parts of Chicago that we otherwise probably would never have discovered on our own. Would recommend.
Jade
Baylor was very friendly and knowledgeable! I had a lot of fun on this tour and definitely want to do more like it in the future. Please note that this tour is pretty much entirely outside with quite a bit of walking, so be sure to prepare for that :)
JadeBird
Our tour guide Stefan was super informed, charming, and kept a perfect pace. It was definitely a good deal of walking so be aware of that, but I really loved this tour!!
Mary Blancas
My tour guide was so sweet and knowledgeable! He also went above and beyond to take pictures of me when we passed one of his facts which I really appreciated. Thank you for teaching me and really making me feel the experience with your enthusiasm!!
Elaine Olejnik
Truly enjoyed this tour! Lizzie did a great job....timely, informative and fun! She makes me want to go home and read more on the Chicago mafia and watch all the movies related to it! Highly recommend this tour!! Thanks Lizzie!!
Dagmar Urbankova
Not knowing much about the history of Chicago, especially when it comes to crimes and ghosts stories, it has been a great experience! 15/10 recommended!
And if you want to enjoy your tour even more and be entertained the whole time, request Connor because he is just the best!
Carissa Hudson
I enjoyed Conor and his wonderful Gangster and Ghosts tour! We heard about interesting, tragic, massive accidents and went to areas haunted by mass deaths where people have seen ghostly sightings. I was not fortunate to see a ghost last night, but I'm going back to a couple this evening!!! Wish me luck!!! Very informative!! Thank you awesome Conor!!!
Heather Macrae
Like all ghost tours an experienced story teller is what makes it. Connor fulfilled this task with ease. His enthusiasm for the history was easy to see. Tour is easy walking and participating on the night time tour only added to the ambiance.
Would recommend this tour should history of Chicago and ghost stories are your vibe.
Emily Bernards
Such a fun tour. Sarah was an amazing guide! She made it fun by having fun. She also has the perfect voice for a noisy city, still be audible over a fire truck. The two hours flew by!
Juliet Calzadilla
My husband and I came to Chicago for our honeymoon and what a great experience we had with all the information we received from Conor. He was amazing! And even though it was quite a bit of walking, the 2 hours seemed much shorter than we anticipated.
Christina Hageman
Allen was a rockstar guide; clever, witty and entertaining. I had a blast and have been recommending it to everyone since. Went on Wed 8.10.22, at 11am. Like I know the city better, have tons of cool tidbits to share with friends and family, and had a great time during the tour!
Bobbi Hodge
I liked this tour better than the architecture tour that was recommended by so many locals. Andre was very informative and gave some additional information that was not given on that tour. Wish I had taken this one on my first day in the city instead of the last.
Estefany Carreon
I went to chicago for the first time, July 2022, and my family & i went on this tour. we were skeptical at first but the tour went great! Our tour guide, Connor, was great at explaining and taking us around. The 1.5 mile walk did not feel so long as we stopped at many places, listened to the stories, then kept going. There was even a break included where we explored the palmer house hotel! Great tour guide, he even gave us recommendations for our remaining days in chicago. Highly recommend, especially if it’s your first time visiting this city.
Luis Portillo
Great tour all around the streets of Chicago! Lots of local history, architectural knowledge, and connections to modern media. Connor was an amazing tour guide and would definitely recommend!
Heather Shlutz
We did this tour on my bachelorette trip to Chicago and it was awesome! So much wild history in Chicago. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and made it very interesting! He even gave us reccos and a bit of history about the untitled supper club where we were going for dinner. Very cool and fun!
xbeanboozledx
i thought it was very interesting, Sara, our tour guide was very good, was loud enough, funny, very friendly. i enjoyed it a lot :) only issue was the weather but its mid october and it ended around 5:30. definitely need to be used to walking though!
Chantel Carusone
I visited Chicago to celebrate my birthday and this was the first thing we did when we got into the city. It was so worth it & the best way to kick off our trip! We learned soooo much and got plenty of sightseeing in as well! Andre was THE best your guide we could have ever asked for! Not only was he knowledgeable, but he was so funny as well; he was theatrical, really brought the stories to life, and also got the tour participants involved by asking questions and such. He also went above and beyond his duties by helping us with directions afterwards; we were the last ones left and confused on where to go, but he helped us figure out where we needed to be and waited until we safely boarded the bus before he departed.
Definitely an incredible experience over all and I would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to Chicago, especially if you have a love for history and adventure!
Andrés García Bayce
Great experience! You get to see places and hear from stories you would have never known otherwise. Connor is a fantastic guide that transmits his great knowledge and passion for history in an entertaining way. Highly recommended.
Glen Hammel
More of a dark history of Chicago than a ghost themed tour, but you won't be disappointed no matter what you're expecting. This was the best walking history tour I've done. These so often depend on your guide and Andre is enthusiastic, knowledgeable and a good storyteller.
mrosebro
Had a great time on this tour, our guide Connor did an amazing job not only telling the stories and remembering details (dates etc) but speaking loudly and clearly, pausing when loud cars and trains went through, he did not rush at all. I could always hear him from the back of the crowd, and he was happy to awnser questions, both related to the tour, as well as the city in general. Also found out our hotel is haunted by at least 3 Ghosts, so that's a thing.
Tracy Hernandez
Great tour of the downtown Chicago area with a fun tour guide. Lizzy told great stories about gangsters and tragic stories of death that may explain some ghostly activities. The only caveat I would say is that the stories definitely skew more toward gangsters and less toward ghosts, so if you want a "ghost tour" this might not be the one for you.
Adam Mackler
This was a great walking tour and our guide Conor was great. He was very informative and we visited a lot of cool spots that I wouldn’t have on my own. Highly recommend this tour!
Ryan S
It was such an amazing tour. Baylor told us lots of interesting stories of the spots we visited during the tour. I would totally tell my friends and family about the amazing experience.
Fabio Mattos
Very nice tour, good price and interesting stories. The tour guide, Ty, was great! He was very knowledgeable and very good at telling stories. He was also very nice and open to any questions we had.
Elisabeth Brossart
our tourguide conor was a really nice person, who talked clear and made sure we would all get a nice experience. saw some exciting places, listened to his interesting stories about haunted places and crimes. its worth it and super fun:)
loved how dedicated he was and how much knowledge he has. he is definitely able to answer all your questions! go for it:) and thank you conor!
Lin Le Quach
My girlfriends and I did a tour on Friday night with Brandon as the guide and had the BEST time! We learnt so much (my friend who lives in Chicago knew nothing). Brandon was also kind enough to give us some fun tips at the end for places to go, which made our Chicago trip even more fun! Thank you :)
Amy Dickens
Fantastic tour! We were a group of 8 and everyone really enjoyed the whole tour. Our guide, Andre, was both very informative and entertaining. Highly recommend.
Bjornstad Family
Conner was terrific! We not only learned a lot about Gangsters and ghosts but the history around the city. This tour pairs nicely with the architecture river tour. I highly recommend this especially on a blustery fall evening.
Sarah Kincaid
I loved this experience! It wasn't just about gangsters and ghosts, but mostly about Chicago and it's rich history...with some mobster flare. I've been to Chicago 3 times now and I have walked past many buildings numerous times without a clue of the stories it holds, with this tour I'll forever remember the history of certain spots in Chicago.
urbankovaev
Excellent tour. Our guide Conor was fantastic - he kept our group entertained the whole time! I would definitely recommend this tour to others.

CJ Gahagan
Andre was a fantastic and personable tour guide. He has great knowledge and presented it in an entertaining way. We loved the places we saw and the stories we heard!
Arielle Inwald
Connor was a great tour guide, showing us places in Chicago that related to Gangsters and Ghosts. He knew his information and able to expand on his knowledge even after the tour. My only complaint was the tour ended and started different places which I was unaware of.
Pamala Eaton
This was a fantastic tour!!! Baylor, our tour guide, was amazing. She provided a wealth of information regarding the history of Chicago, gangsters, and ghosts! I highly recommend this tour to anyone spending time in Chicago!!!

Megan Wilson
Kai was amazing - funny, personable and extremely knowledgeable. We used to live in Chicago and never knew many of the stories they told us! Highly recommend this tour - and Kai!
Adrianna Michalska
This is a great tour that encompasses a lot of Chicago’s scariest deadliest history, with little fun facts about the city’s culture, food, and architecture. I would totally recommend it to anyone of any age! You are going to love it!
Nicole Eacuello
Our tour guide Allan was incredible! He was a fabulous storyteller who made the entire tour fun and enjoyable. I couldn’t recommend more!! Thanks Allan!
Brandon Byford
Lizzy was a very knowledgeable and personable tour guide! It was a very interesting tour and we learned history about the city and gangs that we wouldn't have known otherwise. Definitely recommend!

Michael Farebrother
Conor gave us an absolutely brilliant tour; he was very knowledgeable and we learnt alot, finding out about Chicagos' more hidden chapters. I would recommend to anyone who wants to learn and get more of a feel for the citys' history.
Tal Lachmann
Very informative and fun. Our guide Lizzy knew a lot more about Chicago's history than the scope of the tour. She was a blast.
K Dogg
Caleb was super great, very knowledgeable, sweet, and made the tour very exciting and entertaining!
If you’re going to book and have an option to pick, I’d recommend Caleb 100%
Roy Trivellin
Very amazing tour! Conor, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the topics on this tour. Would let him guide me around Chicago any time!
Mary Robinson
I really enjoyed this tour. Connor did a great job sharing the history and stories of the gangster era and the ghosts from fires. I enjoyed the opportunity to go inside some of the buildings as well.
David Connelly
Interesting and entertaining. Braylen, our guide (an up and coming comedian) provided insightful commentary and light.
eddie c
Great tour of downtown Chicago. Connor was awesome!
Crystal Nolin

Rana Doyle
Very enjoyable! Conor was a delightful and informative guide. I’m glad we waited until the last day of our trip to find out where all the ghosts are!
C L
Tour was fun. Learned a lot of the mob life of the '30s. Walking distance was fine. It's a smaller tour so if youre looking for a larger city wide tour, this ain't it. Kai did a great job teaching us and we saw some cool places. Recommend.
Felipe Sanches
Great tour if you are visiting. Brandon was an entertaining guide and went above and beyond with tips after the tour was done. I'd highly recommend this tour if you are visiting Chicago.
Richie Hay
Very good and informative tour well worth the walk which is not bad. Lizzie did an amazing job of explaining and showing what happened in the days of past. 10 out of 10 would do again.
Prentice Butterworth
Amazing tour! Conor was awesome and super knowledgeable. Highly recommend if you want to see highlights of Chicago with a spooky twist.
Tina McGovern
Connor was so fun to listen to, informative and told the stories to make them fascinating. He took extra time to finish the tour for me as I had to run to the airport before the tour finished. It’s a great tour!!
Kelsey Truesdale
Thanks Connor for a great tour!
Very interesting history, I only wish there were more ghost stories!! 👻 …
Hannibal Rasberry
Good experience. The tour guide is very professional and kind. And she sid a great job providing us with information.
My only complaint is that if she sees provided a megaphone it would be easier to hear her in the midst of all the noise.
Kim Cannavale
Really enjoyed this tour with Conor. He was very knowledgeable and I learned a lot of really interesting stories about Chicago. It is a walking tour but there are breaks built in.
Cindi Worrall
Great tour! Alan was an excellent guide. Really enjoyed learning some of the history of Chicago along with the ghost and gangster stories.
Jennifer Fraser
I did enjoy the tour and had a wonderful time! The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that they didn’t end the tour where we started. It was about a 20 min walk from where we started, which is fine but it put us behind schedule from other things we needed to do that day.
Patrick Vandagriff
Perfect way to explore around Chicago and take in the sites. Baylor was a fantastic tour guide and story teller. Would definitely take the tour again.
Brandie Behan
We totally enjoyed this tour. Lauren did a great job, she was very engaging and really knew her history. To give a quick comparison, we did a boat tour a few days later and we were sharing the history that we learned from Lauren with a couple of the other people on the cruise!!
Jo-Ann Lempert
Conor was a great guide! Great storyteller, very engaging and approachable. The tour was fun and I would highly recommend it!
Randi Gilmore

Michael Sheridan
The tour was amazing and Conor was a great guide. I got some lovely photos and got to learn so much about our city. Some of the information I had heard about, but to get to see the actual places and hear him present the information was a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend
Kelly Roper
I am so sorry I can’t remember our tour guides name but it was at 4pm on Monday, November 28th 2022. She was amazing. She made it so interesting and the characters seemed to come to life thru her explanations.
Felipe Fernandez
I highly recommend! The guide are well prepared, courteous and really knows about Chicago history. It is a walking tour for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, but you don’t feel the time passing because it is very interesting.
Teresa H
Baylor was our tour guide and was very knowledgeable about the history and was very engaging! Highly recommend doing this tour if you're in Chicago!
Bill L
Real nice presentation by Conner, he did a great job and answered all questions. He really knew his stuff. Lots of history in a great city.
Shayna Johnson
Stefan was our guide. He is knowledgeable, humorous, and didn't walk too fast. He covers Capone, Holmes, an alley of death and various other "haunts." Tour was around 2 hours and included a short break at the Palmer Hotel. We finished up before dark (early October). I would definitely enjoy taking the tour to hear the fascinating -- and occasionally grizzly -- tales again.
Haley Duke
Excellent Tour!
Learned a lot about the history of Chicago and got the chance to be shown around the city. Dylan is an excellent tour guide and was very informative about the history of Chicago while being entertaining along the way. Would recommend the tour to everyone especially any history fans out there.
Mary Luccas
Sarah was easy to follow, a great tour guide with a fun presentation of Chicago history. A great way to see the city!
Linda Quillman
Great way to experience the history & architecture of Chicago. However, we were disappointed that the tour did not include the haunted Congress Hotel as advertised.
Glenn Doyle
We were surprised to find out it is a walking tour but very much worth it. Rosa was very knowledgeable a d patient with some slow walkers in the group. Its a must do for a excursion..
Wynn Root
Ty was a great guide who was able to tell Chicago gangster stories that shocked us all. He was also able to answer all historical questions the group had and make us laugh while doing it!
Claudia Alcalá Oropeza
The tour guide was great she was excelent narrating (Rosa) but too much expensive to what they offer. No costumes, show, or role play. Its in the city center by foot only public places
Sydney Isenburg
Our tour guide was Sarah and she was amazing! A good mix of entertaining stories, not too long, and she was very informative and funny!
Jeemin Park
The tour was very informative. I got to hear a lot of fascinating stories of Chicago’s gangster history. Highly recommend!
Luis Gonzalez
The tour was an awesome experience. Very happy to learn about a lot of things about Chicago. Highly recommend to do this
Angeliki Aninou
Great tour! Conor is an excellent guide very knowledgeable and great spots to see Chicago special spots from inside some great building!
Adam Jarvela
Caleb was a great guide and did a good job at overcoming the noise of the city which was quite loud at times. Information provided along the tour was informative and entertaining. I only leave 1 star off for lack of mentioning the tour is not ADA friendly. The tour goes down and up stairs that lacked ramp access. This would have been worth mentioning to somebody with a walker before heading out.
emma dale
Great Tour!! First night in the windy city and this tour was a wonderful and entertaining introduction to the the city. Note: dress warm 😀 …
Dara Calzada
We were cautiously optimistic about booking.. but the tour ended up being fabulous and a highlight of our trip! Andre was awesome!!!
Miguel Liendo
The tour was amazing, our guide a Lady, she know exactly what she’s doing amaizing experience in this tour.. very interesting.. 100% recomended this tour!!!
Scott Liesch
Tour was ok. We learned some interesting history about Chicago. I guess we were expecting a little bit more considering the cost was $35 per person.
Dev Yilmaz
Braeden did a great job as our tour guide. The tour was a lot of fun, would definitely recommend!
Alyson Pitts
it was a great experience and lizzy was SUCH an amazing guide. lots of good sights to see, history to learn, and spooky stories to hear.
Elisa Diaz Riera
Lauren, our tour guide, was very engaging and helpful. During our tour we covered several gangsters and ghosts stories as well as a bit of general Chicago history. We had a lot of fun and would totally repeat. 100% recommended
Kaylynn Sherman
Andre was amazing and a great showman, though I’m from the area I learned a lot during my time on this tour!
Matthew Barnum
THEY ARE OPEN RIGHT NOW! They are not closed due to covid. If you're even interested a little bit in this, you will not regret it. Our tour guide Caleb was wonderful. He was a great story teller and very professional and personable. It was fun and interesting!
Margie Perhaps
Great tour! Had a very limited amount of time, but wanted to see some of downtown. This tour was perfect. Lots of history with interesting and colorful details. Lauren was my guide and she was so funny and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in the city in the slightest. Great value!
Kenny T
Conner was a great tour guide. This tour was a great end to my trip to Chicago. I wanted to do something different then the typical stuff and most people don't do tours like this as much as they should. But its was great. I think doing it period is nice but on a nice night its perfect and it doesn't feel like a 2 hour walk either.
Was very well detailed and got to learn about a lot of different parts of Chicago history. Seeing buildings and shopping is cool but definitely do a guided tour of some sort cause they make a trip feel full and I picked this tour and wasn't disappointed.
And they set a standard for me which I will hold every tour for every city I visit and said tour will be judged on but at the end of the tour I was given a free sticker and u can never go wrong with a free sticker.
Stewart Edwards
We selected this tour on our trip to Chicago. Knowing the city has a rich history dating back to before prohibition, we wanted to learn more. We found this tour on trip advisor and it didn't disappoint. Conor was our guide and he was professional, enthusiastic, passionate and knowledgeable. It was a chilly night but the tour kept a good pace and had a nice break in the old Palmer Hotel to warm up. The stories of Al Capone's life and other interesting and spooky stories from Chicagos history were fascinating. If you like ghosts and history, and want to learn a bit more about the city of Chicago, we highly recommend this informative and affordable tour.
Mrs. Amy Barrenechea
Great tour for people who want to exercise. Be prepared to be left quite a ways from where you start the tour. Tour guide was nice and knowledgeable but wanted no interaction with the group. Make sure you are 5 min. early because tardiness is not tolerated. Gangster and ghost stories are very interesting and make the tour worthwhile.
Eric Lopez
Fantastic tour around the city! Tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. 10/10 would recommend!
Susan Marquez Larey
This walking tour with Kai was so much fun! We had a blast walking the city and learning about its history. Not fast passed, just smooth and easy we went.
Barbara Mariner
We were anticipated and promptly checked in at the meeting spot, offered to visit restrooms or get drinks before we headed out. The timeline was clearly stated and expectations set by our amazing tour guide.
Kai absolutely rocked it. Not one minute did she seem unengaged or not aware of her surroundings. Very attentive and incredibly fun and knowledgeable, while helping us all safe while navigating the sidewalks and alley ways.
She is a true story teller - someone you want to inch in closer when they tell a ghost story, creating suspense and keeping everyone on the edge of their "seat". It's been a true pleasure and worth every minute. I'd visit Chicago and do the whole tour all over again!
Beth Riches
We enjoyed this tour a lot. We're only about an hour and a half away from Chicago, so have visited many times for various things, but I still learned a lot from our guide Conor. He was knowledgeable and happy to answer any and all questions. It's a very worthwhile tour for anyone who wants to learn more about this great city and its history.
Amelie Thomesen
When I got told I was supposed to go on this gangster and ghost tour I didn’t expect much. But this tour was definitely better than any expectations, our tour guide Connor was very enthusiastic and good at story telling. He made sure everybody understood the terms he was using and he asked us questions to keep us engaged.
The tour was a really good way to experience the city in the evening and see all the city lights. While listening to interesting and engaging stories and facts about the city and all the gangsters and ghost stories.
Jessica French
Had a great experience and tour with guide Lauren on 7/28/2019. She is a historian was engaging, informative, funny, organized and clearly super-into the information she was sharing. It was sunny and hot, but she took care to keep us in the shade as much as possible and made sure everyone was doing fine as we went along. I'm a local and learned quite a bit of new information. It makes me appreciate living here even more, and my nephew (not a local) was fascinated.
Brooke Magan
This was a great tour with a lot of information and historical stories. Our tour guide Kai did a fantastic job with the tour. She was very accommodating throughout the tour and even modified the tour to keep us as dry as possible during a rainy night. It is definitely worth checking out this tour.
Gabrielle Taylor
This was such a great tour! This is my first time in Chicago and I really wanted a way to see parts of the city that was unique and had an interesting storytelling element. Connor was so engaging and kept us intrigued and anticipating the next stop the entire time!! If you are looking for a new way to view the city I would highly recommend this!!
Aimee Wren
Our tour was fun and informative! We learned some pretty wild stuff that I had never heard of before. Rosa was our tour guide and she was great. She also gave us recommendations for dinner after the tour and we loved the place she picked. Overall would definitely recommend!
Kylie Hood
This tour was a blast! Fun and educational.
Now I want to go buy a bunch of gangster books.
Alyssa Sismaet
I highly recommend this tour, and Conor was an amazing and knowledgable tour guide. We liked that historians led them and it wasn't like an actor or something like that, it was facts but still told in a very interesting way. Conor kept us engaged, and although you walk a short distance, you get many breaks and there are some places to sit or lean against while he is talking. You also get a break in the middle at The Palmer House and you can buy snacks or drinks there, and use the bathroom. We also did the 8pm tour, so it was already dark to add to the tour subject.
Duane Dippel
Took tour on a cool late February day. Conor was a great tour guide. My 13 year old daughter and her friend enjoyed it too and were excited to tell others about what was talked about during the tour. Informative for sure, definitely glad we did it.
Victoria Glanowski
Connor was a great tour guide! He's a writer and you can tell by the way he sets up the scene for each story. He made it a fun experience and delivered it in a humorous and animated manner. Definitely enjoyed learning about some of the most interesting and lesser known events in Chicago's past. Highly recommend this tour!
Ashley Dow
Wow! I highly recommend this tour- my husband and I had a ton of fun. Our guide Connor was awesome. He was a great storyteller and we learned a lot from him. He went above and beyond to answer our questions and gave us some great recommendations for other things to see in Chicago. I am SO glad we decided to go on this tour. Make sure you wear good walking shoes!
Caiden Robinson
Lizzie was a fantastic tour guide! She brought us around downtown Chicago with enthusiasm and spirit. When it started to rain, she kept us along a route where we were covered for the duration of the storm. She was audible at all times and definitely helped to make the gangsters and ghosts tour not only worth it, but memorable! Great experience! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get to know Chicago a bit more!
Abi Schneider
Connor did a fantastic job on the tour not just informing but also entertaining. After spending an hour and a half with the tour he even stayed behind to answer more questions and give recommendations on sites to see and things to try while in town. Highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in the history of Chicago.
Skelly Miller
The tour for Chicago Gangsters and Ghosts Tours was excellent. It's very important on this type of tour to have a very good guide who brings history to life so that you feel you are there. Our guide Heidi was fabulous. She was demonstrative, held our attention and was very knowledgeable. Heidi was great!
Bronx Holland
Our tour guide, Connor, was fantastic. The tour was informative and interesting. There are so many little things that you wouldn’t know without going on the tour. Definitely something worth checking into for a visit to Chicago.
Chemika Howard
Our guide was Connor and he was amazing! He was very informative and entertaining. We took the tour for my husband’s birthday and learned a lot given that we live here and have done several tours. My husband had a great time, so win win in my book!

Wow! This tour is a Chicago must!!!! I liked this better than the architecture tour. Connor was such a fantastic tour guide! He was funny and very knowledgeable. He knew how to tell stories and keep everyone engaged. My biggest piece of advice would be to make sure it's not raining on your tour because it'll be a bit difficult to get a refund! But I honestly highly recommend it. It was one of my favorite things I did in Chicago. IMPORTANT: Make sure it’s not raining the day you go!!!!!!!!!!!
Chuck Paone
An absolute blast, walk the streets of Chicago with the Ghost of Al Capone breathing down your neck. My favorite part was the knowledge, friendliness and intelligent discussion provided by Kai our tour guide. Well schooled in Chicago lore, Kai provided a great balence between entertainment and learning opportunity. Chicago is such a star of any tour, but add night time to the vibe and it magical.
Tom Grant
Our tour guide Connor was excellent, he showed a deep knowledge and passion for the history of the city. We went as a family boys 12 & 14 yrs and adults, everyone said this was a highlight of our visit to Chicago. He kept it interactive so all were engaged.
Very entertaining and informative, very well researched and had great recommendation for food.
Thanks Connor
Maeve Melber
We had the best time on this tour! Our tour guide Lizzie was super fun and entertaining. We learned so much about Chicago’s history and loved the chilling ghost tales as well. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Chicago!
Lori Nozzi
Our first time in Chicago and we booked this tour right at the start. Rosa lead us around like a pro and told the history in a fun and accurate way. I know about the 1893 World Exposition and H.H. Holmes and she nailed it. Highly recommend it. Also, it was hot out and she kept us in the shade whenever possible so it was comfortable in the June heat. It’s also a good way to get your bearings on where things are to layer go and explore on your own. Thanks, Rosa!
Naleah Laurent
I absolutely loved it! Lizzy was such a fun tour guide to have! She was well informed and spoke very clearly so everyone could hear the stories. She gave us plenty of time for pictures and ensured that everyone was doing alright. It is a walking tour so bring comfy shoes. I recommend!!
Sydni Cerioli
Heidi was our tour guide and I had a large group of 13 for a fun work activity. Heidi was amazing and told us unique stories that we never would have learned without that personal attention that she gave us. Heidi was relaxed and super easy to interact with. We felt comfortable enough to ask questions, and because we are such a large group, when a couple of our people got too talkative, she was very kind and respectful, but also authoritative to get us back on task. Couldn't have asked for a better tour guide. Thank you for such a fun night, Heidi!
Schenley Marino
We had so much fun on this tour! Sarah was an amazing guide! She was fun and knowledgeable and she kept us laughing (when she wasn’t scaring us with ghost stories 😉). We would 100% recommend this tour! Thank you Sarah and team! …
Tae Swanson
Great tour. Our tour guide Rosa was super nice and informative. She made sure our large tour group was all ready before crossing the street and answered whatever questions we had! Great experience for those with a morbid curiosity.
Gunhild Carling
Good guiding around Chicago by Heidi. Very exciting stories about buildings theatres and monuments
Ryanne Buchannan
We had Corey and he hosted a great tour! So much history and great stories! He was extremely knowledgeable and was a great story teller. We also had someone in our group who was blind and he did an amazing job guiding her around the city, I was very impressed.
Steph Simon
My experience in Chicago was a elevated because of this tour. Lizzie, our guide fought with the bustling sounds of the city and kept our group entertained. Perfect mix of history and folk lore. Don’t miss this one!
Shivaun Wilkinson
Our tour was awesome. You learn all sorts of little tidbits of the city you wouldn’t otherwise learn. Liszt, our guide, was engaging, knowledgeable, and just super sweet and likeable.
Charity Lewis
First time ever taking a walking tour and it was PHENOMENAL! Andre was fun, knowledgeable and engaging. I didn't even realize we had walk for almost 2 hours. It was a great experience and I will do it again. He almost made sure we were able to get back to our hotel. 20 🌟! …
Anastasiya Yazlyuk
This tour was absolutely awesome! Our guide Lizzy was enthusiastic, excited and super funny! It was a great mix of cool facts, events and even a bit of architecture! We greatly enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone!
FYI, we booked our tickets through Groupon and saved some $$
Kate Launderville
Absolutely fantastic tour! Our guide Adam was not only very good at the details and stories but also hysterical and kept us enjoying the tour despite the heat! Well done and would do again and refer anyone to do it as well.
Jonathan Manshack
Our tour guide was Heidi and she was very knowledgeable of the history and was also enthusiastic the entire time. She made sure everyone got their questions answered and stayed aware of their surroundings.
I learned a lot on this event and I'd definitely recommend it to others!

Connor was absolutely amazing. My best friend and I took a long weekend for a girls trip from “pack up and go” and found the ghost/gangster tours. BEST DECISION WE MADE. I would do it again in a heartbeat. 10/10
Antonio Parker
This tour was great! Our tour guide, Connor, provided great insight into the stories of the Chicago river and many of Chicago's most famous mobster hangouts! He was very enthusiastic and personable during the tour! Would definitely recommend it to others!
Lynda Meier
My daughter & I only had one day to spend in the city after flying in at 11:30 so our time was short. We were so lucky that we chose the Gangster & Ghosts Tour & even luckier that Andre was our tour guide. Andre gave us such a comprehensive & entertaining tour, not only of the gangster aspect of Chicago but also other city history, along with informative architectural insights. We thought we would regret missing an architectural tour, but Andre mixed enough of that into the gangster lore that we felt we got the best overall tour of Chicago possible. After the tour, he even walked with us nearly all the way back to our parking garage, providing many more tidbits along the way. (He was heading that way anyway, but he certainly did not need to accompany us. A true gentleman.) It shows that he loves what he does.
Courtney Macecevic
This tour was so fun! We had Andre as our guide and you could tell he was very passionate about his Chicago history! I came here on a spontaneous Pack Up + Go trip and this tour was highly recommend. Check it out!

Took the night tour with Kai, who did a great job explaining the historic landmarks along the route. The Palmer House was a very lovely stop. Great for first-timers to Chicago, got to see some cool sights.

Eric E
Sarah was a terrific guide. Masterfully mixed humor with information and storytelling. Lots of history in the number of blocks this tour covers. Very impressive and informative. Not only does it talk to gangsters and ghosts (as the name would suggest) it also covers some Chicago history and architecture. Absolutely recommended!
Elizabeth Hally
My family loved this walking tour and learned a lot about Capone and some spooky places in Chicago. Our tour guide, Lizzie really knew her stuff and was energetic and funny. Kept us entertained the whole time and we saw a lot of iconic Chicago sights. Highly recommended!
Danny Hart
This guided tour was an absolute blast! We learned a ton about the city of Chicago, the fire of 1871, and Capone himself. Our tour guide was Connor and he was fantastic, speaking loudly and clearly while making sure the group stayed together in the midst of some serious traffic. I would happily go on this tour again, and highly recommend it to an out-of-towner looking to hear some awesome ghost stories while also getting your bearings around town.
Leslie Hall
Kai was the best!! They had such a great sense of humor, and knew a ton of history. Best tour guide ever!!! Give them a big raise, it would be well deserved!!
Ellen Kenimer
A wonderful tour!! Many interesting stories and got to see some historical treasures I may not have seen otherwise! Highly recommend Connor as a tour guide!
Big Easy Gates
This was the best tour of our trip to Chicago. The tour guide, Kae, was the best. We were lucky she had a master's degree in history and had extensive knowledge of Chicago's dirty history. I knew a few things about gangster history but she opened our eyes to things I never could have imagined. I even found out we were staying in a haunted hotel (Capones).
Hannah Fain
Alan was a fantastic guide, engaging and knowledgeable. This is a great way to see some of the city and learn more about what you see than you would know on your own! Highly recommend.

The tour is a lot of fun. Plenty of interesting info and some “spooky” facts. 90 minutes well spent. Our guide, Brandon, was knowledgeable, personable, and fun! Recommended!

Connor was a great guide who made the tour fun and interesting. I highly recommend taking this tour if you want to see a lot of landmarks quickly while still learning about them and their history. The stories about Al Capone’s rise and demise, told at the places he frequented, really added another layer of engagement.

We had an excellent tour last night with Kai, would highly recommend! We learned so much, saw incredible Chicago landmarks we wouldn't have known about otherwise, and had a ton of fun! The tour was about two hours and moved at a great pace, we saw a ton but it didn't feel rushed. Really great thank you!
Seed Montessori
Entertaining, well prepared, lively and interesting. Scheduling it and getting info over the phone was truly excellent. The reminder email two days before the trip was brilliant. Our Chicago Gangsters and Ghosts tour was led by "Davy". Davy did a great job telling interesting stories was thoughtful and accommodating with practical matters. I had young kids on the tour and he did a perfect job of giving me trigger warnings and making a good time for all. It's a 2-hour tour, but it went fast on a wonderful day hearing ghastly truths about Chicago history. The walking was manageable. Recommend. Try to get Davy! And tip him!!!
(Notice in the photo below how much care he took in addressing this 3rd grade boy...that is, the 3rd grade boy that knew all the answers. *grins*)
James Hutton
The tour was superb. Conor our guide was very knowledgable and friendly and made the tour interesting and exciting. Would 100% do it again in future 😎 …
Mrs. N. Govert
We had Brandon for our tour and he was awesome. He kept the group together, spoke loudly, and was able to share stories in a creepy way....making it perfect for a ghost tour.
April Arendsen
Amazing stories! Tour guide Conner was outstanding! He made sure everyone was close and able to hear. His knowledge and understanding of Chicago was 100%. The only downfall was in the description it said we pass by the “bean” and we in fact did not. We specifically didn’t schedule the bean in our day because it was said to be in this tour. Everything else was amazing!
Cassie Moore
The tour was great! Our tour guide did an awesome job! Would highly recommend and will be back with friends and family!
Mauricio Borrero Junguito
Our tour guide (Connor) was extremely knowledgeable, animated and passionate. This tour brings a lot of great info about the more local aspects of Chicago (Ghost stories, Local events/tragedies, etc.) to life.
It’s great if you want to learn about more historical, impactful and local events in Chicago.
Susan Tricca
We had so much fun on our tour yesterday. Conner was a great tour leader. East to hear and to follow through the city.

Had the best experience with Lauren! Highly recommend especially for those who love history. Lauren being a history major made her stories unforgettable.
My two girlfriends came from out of town (California/Kentucky) and keep raving about how much fun they had. We even went to go visit Al Capone's grave since we were so intrigued by the information Lauren provided us.

EL PARAISO STAR A
Ummm let's see I booked this tour through airbnb as I've been wanting to do. It for sooo long now... I honeslty was so confused which gangster tour to choose as there were soooo. Many.. This one sounded nice because it's a walkin tour n I was hoping we would actually go inside. The places where gangster activities happend.. But the only place we really stepped into was death alley on state street.. Where an over crowded theater people used. To fall. Off.. Other than that the other 4 stories wete just. Told from outside the location so didn't seem as interactive as I tht id be.. Our tour guide was pretty Informative having lived there. Before I def learned more.. Wr also got to visit the cool architecture of palmer house international hotel. On wabash ave. As a tourist from a difft country or state I wluld maybe RECOMMEND this. But not as a CHICago local or someone who's lived there for more than an yr.. Thrn you'll expect more n it didn't meet those expectations!!!
Hannah Curtis
We had a great time! Connor was very knowledgeable and shared his passion about the history of Chicago!

Great tour! Looking forward to scheduling again! Connor was a great guide!
Rebekah Bechara
I didn't think walking through the chilly streets of Chicago's city would be a highlight of my trip. But it was! What a rich history this place has. I was hooked on Adam's storytelling, his great sense of humour and his genuine enthusiasm for the tour. Loved it, highly recommend!
Flinzorz

Christian Brendemuehl
Fantastic tour I can highly recommend. Alan our tour guide made a very good job! Thanks!

Excellent tour. Lizzie was a lot of fun and very helpful with everything Chicago. If you love hearing about the gangsters from the Capone era, this is a great tour. There’s also a few interesting ghost stories thrown in there too.
Greg Schlechter
Brandon was out tour guide and he did a great job telling the stories of Chicago's gangster history and ghost stories.
Victoria Ratliff
1. Kai was great! She was loud enough for everyone to hear over the rain, and made sure were either covered, or had our rain gear ready. She made sure it was accessible to everyone and any modification didn’t hurt the tour itself. You do end up about 10-15 minutes from where you begin the tour, but Kai made sure to check in with everyone before departure so they knew where we were and how to get back home or their next destination.
2. If you are not from Chicago, this was a great overview of the crime and big gangsters of the time. This includes Al Capone, North vs South side gangs, etc. While we did not go inside many buildings, it did make the tour more comprehensive and offered time to hear more stories.
3. Wear your sneakers, be on time (or you will be left behind- which wasn’t an issue if you paid attention). Kai answered any questions we had, about the tour or Chicago in general. She asked us about ourselves and we got into a conversation about gangsters in Indianapolis.
Overall great time, a nice way to see the city and spend a few hours on vacation.
Anneliese Aliasso
Kai was amazing! So enthusiastic and engaging. Would highly recommend this tour.
Briana Sowers
Kai was our tour guide and she was PHENOMENAL. She knew how to tell a story and keep us on a cliffhanger. Also provided us with helpful info on local speakeasies. Her background in history made her knowledgeable and her energy was spot on. Highly recommend this tour with Kai! :)
Tulsy Gabriela
Our guide, Adam, was great! He was full of jokes and had the whole group entertained the whole tour. He also had interesting gangster/ghost/historical stories to share as we walked through downtown Chicago as well as recommendations of places to visit and foods to try 😋 I would 10/10 recommend this to anyone who has a few hrs to spare.
Jesse Merrill
It was a fun and informative experience. We got there on time but had trouble finding parking so our Tour Guide Kai called me and actually sent me information on where I could find parking and meet them after. They were really passionate and knowledgeable about the what they were talking about so that really helped with the overall experience. 5/5 and I'm interested in what else the company has to offer. Big Shoutout to Kai again for being such a energetic and great tour guide!
Effie Papas
Awesome tour - well worth the cost and our guide Lizzie was fantastic!
Kelley Minehan
We've done ghost tours in at least 7 different cities and I think this was my favorite. This was such a fun way to spend a night!! Our tour guide, Connor, was quite knowledgeable about Chicago history and he was an excellent storyteller. We got to be tourists in the Loop in a whole different way and we learned some really cool, off the beaten path history that you just don't hear about on the traditional tours. My only disappointment is that the Palmer House runs out of brownies by 11 am. It might be a cool add on to be able to purchase a brownie along with the ticket. All in all, I highly recommend this tour!
Omar Vera
Mrs. Connor is a amazing guy. He is an excellent storyteller with huge knowledge about Chicago and its history. On top of that, He is a king individual. During our trip, I was totally frozen, and he provided me a scarf. He is a person with a strong energy and passion for his job, and you can feel this meanwhile your listening carefully every single detail.
Patrick Doyle
This tour was an absolute blast! We learned so much about not only the history of gangsters in Chicago and the haunted sites, but also a great deal about the city of Chicago itself. Kai was our tour guide - what an energetic wealth of knowledge! Her storytelling and enthusiam really brought the stories and various characters to life. The tour was an hour and a half, but went by way too quickly.
Jessica Taneff
Lizzie was incredible. It was a rainy cold day but she still cracked jokes and made it super enjoyable. This tour is SO worth it and you get to walk all through the city. High recommend!! Learned a lot!!
Olivia Smith
Adam was AMAZING!! He was super engaging and informative during the entire tour. He cracked some solid jokes and told cool stories about Chicago. I’d absolutely recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in true crime or is just looking to have a good time :)
Kim R
We decided to do this tour at the last minute and we're so glad we did! Kai was our guide and her energy and enthusiam made for a great tour. Fun way to spend a few hours, hear interesting stories and visit some cool spots.
Matt McClung
Was a great way to experience some of the history of Chicago. As someone who loves the paranormal, it was great to get a little of that mixed in with the history that makes Chicago. Heidi was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and answered any questions anyone had.
Emmanuel Perez
We had Adam as a tour guide and he was phenomenal. Adam was easy to get along with from the start which is always a plus but what really matters most is he was knowledgeable. I consider myself to be an expert when it comes to knowledge about AL Capone and the outfit but even he surprised me with little detailed facts I had no idea about. I remember looking it up online and finding that Adam was right. Very funny guy and overall had a great personality. It made the whole experience wonderful and worthwhile.
Andrew Satterlee
This was such a fun tour! My wife and I really enjoyed the city at night (we did the 8pm tour). Stefan was an awesome guide. He was easy to hear, was very knowledgeable, and had amazing pace and delivery of the history around the Chicago. The history of Chicago is fascinating and this tour is a great way to learn about the darker (but nonetheless fascinating) side of it. You should absolutely take this tour!
Rachel Curliss
This tour has a nice pace and a good mix of ghost and mob stories. Our guide, Conor, was engaging and soooo nice!! I went with a friend on an impromptu getaway and we are so glad we did this tour. Thank you Conor!
Michael/Dawn Welch
We enjoyed our walking tour with Andre who made sure that he answered everyone's questions along the way. Two hours flew by despite the cold temperature. Andre is a skilled storyteller and was very personable. I've visited the city many times but this was the first time I took a tour. It was fun listening to the history that made the city. Thanks, Andre!
Jessica Ann
Lilly was an amazing hostess for this walking tour. This was a fun filled tour with great stories about Chicago. Despite the worse possible conditions of cold and rain, all four kids ranging from 7-14 enjoyed the tour immensely.
Frank Nance
Great job navigating a very challenging situation in downtown Chicago as police were responding to a shooting and social discord. Guide improvised and kept the tour interesting - and safe - while deviating from the original plan. Never felt we were unsafe despite the drama going on downtown and in many ways it added to the “gangster” vibe.
Chris Boyd
My wife and I visited Chicago for a few days and looked for something cool to do after hitting the museums and aquarium. Signed up for this tour and absolutely loved it! Our guide was very knowledgeable, spoke loudly and clear for everyone to hear. He took us to some really cool and spooky places. Loved hearing things about Capone and seeing some of the places he hung out. Definitely recommend this tour!! Family friendly too!! Dress warm and wear comfortable shoes. Had a blast and would take this tour again next time in Chicago.
A & S Granite and Marble Granite and Marble
Andre was an awesome tour guide. Very insightful and funny. He answered all my sons questions. Great informational tour on some hidden aspects of the city. Definitely worth the price
Cody
It was interesting. I have definitely been on more interesting tours. Feels like there really wasn't a lot of information, especially being in Chicago with all of it's history. But still worth it. Also, you do not end where you begin the tour, so be prepared for that.
Jacqueline Colon
The tour was a surprise gift for sweetest day to my husband. It was the highlight of his evening and he really enjoyed it. Connor is an amazing story teller, taking us on a detailed tour with little knife history facts betting given. This tour was extremely informative, we learned things we never knew about Chicago and we've lived here or whole lives.
S F
Andre was very informative and knowledgeable. We had a great time and learned a lot. Our 13 year old was even engaged and paid attention the whole time. Definitely recommend!!
Sabrina
Husband and I did the tour with Adam on May 12th. Adam was very knowledgeable, charismatic, and funny! Also, at the end of the tour, he sent us tips of places to eat and visit here in Chicago (which it’s awesome, thank you!). If you are going to get the tour, ask for Adam! Wear comfy shoes, clothes, and bring a bottle of water with you!
Kylee Jewell
Our tour guide, Connor, was great! Fun way to see the city for the first time and learn some history! After the tour, he stayed around to answer our questions and help us with local recommendations for our first trip to Chicago. Thank you, Connor!
Adelia Humme
As a first-time visitor to Chicago, I really enjoyed this tour. It's a great way to learn about early-20th-century history in the city. The tour focuses more on history than ghosts, but I appreciated that. Tour stops include the sites of some major disasters as well as Al Capone history. Our tour guide, Kai, is a great storyteller.
Brett Glena
Sarah was great and told stories that captured your interest left you wanting more! Every piece of history was insightful and exciting! I highly recommend this tour to anyone
Amit Arya
This is a highly recommended tour for getting to know more about Chicago’s history. It is a very wide ranging tour about Chicago as a city and covers a lot more than just Gangster history or stories of haunted buildings. Adam who conducted our tour was amazing and his depth on the subject made the tour very informative and entertaining.
Kristen Currie
This was such a cool tour! Our guide Kai was amazing, and super knowledgeable of the city and its history. She really made the tour what it was and we were really pleased with the info we got and the tour itself.
Maxwell Anderson
The tour was informative and seriously Chicago style stories of so many chilling episodes of gangster's, ghosts, ship , theatre fires and a great tour of the city especially the Palm hotel.
Connor was amazing and couldn't be any better. A historian , tour guide and writer who continued to involve and captivate his audience whilst providing a range of questions and responses that were so accurate!
We loved our tour and tour guide!
Thanks Connor!
Adam Ford
We had a fantastic time with our tour guide Lizzy. The tour feels fast and fun. Perfect for filling a morning. As a forewarning, some of the ghost stories are a little sad, so a younger audience might be a little bothered.
Dr. Marcell Greeff
Fantastic night out, even during the pandemic. Kia was entertaining and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!
Jordan Miller
Was fun, informative, and a great way to experience a section of the city. Special shoutout to our tour guide, Conor, for not only being a great presenter, but as my train into town arrived late he went above & beyond to inform me where the tour was so I able to hop in a little later down the line.
Sarena Fritch
A really awesome walking tour revealing some of Chicago's past tragic events and frequented local haunts by some of Chicago's most notorious gangsters.
Audrey Becker
This was an informative and funny tour that gave me a new way to look at Chicago! It was a neat opportunity to walk around Chicago at night, and our guide, Connor, was great at telling the ghost stories. I would recommend this tour to anyone looking for an exciting new way to explore the city.
Angelys Torres
Heidi was an amazing guide!! Learned so much about Chicago's history of gangsters, crime, and ghosts. Even as a city native, there's so much I didn't know! I definitely recommend comfortable walking shoes and water, but totally worth it!
John Badger
My wife and I explored Chicago with our group, with Caleb as our guide. It was a fun experience, and Chicago is full of history. Mix that in with some spooky tales, and you have yourself a good time.
A weird thing about a lot of these tours, is that they often leave you a good distance from your original starting point, and this is no exception.
Jayne Robinson
Great little tour Andre made us laugh and ensure we all got as much as we could during a walk on the south side of the river
Caleb Newby
This tour was incredible. The host, Adam, I mean my goodness this guy was awesome. Not only was he great at his job but the recommendations list he gives towards the end is worth a nice tip by itself. Do this early on your trip to Chicago and you’ll get the trip started with a fun, interactive, and super informational tour and then be set with recommendations for the entire trip.
And don’t forget to tip well!!!!!!!!!!
Sophia Wolff
Connor was our tour guide and he was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic which made it extra fun. If you have time you definitely check out the tour.
Chad Schwind
Lizzy our tour guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and made the tour even better. It was fun to learn about the different events during the gangster days and being able to visit some of the actual places. I would definitely recommend taking the tour next time your in Chicago. We went on the night tour and feel that added to the experience.

I absolutely loved this tour and learned a lot about Chicago. Brandon did such a good job of giving us a ghostly and informative tour. You won’t even be bored for a second. Brandon if you are reading this, I’m manifesting all the success for you in the world bro!

My friend and had really great tour Alan was our guide very knowledgeable and witty to boot.

Great tour, very interesting. A little bit more heavy on the gangsters than the ghosts but no complaints here. Lizzie was a great guide and let us meet at the second stop when we were late trying to find parking (and of course the tour ended a block from our hotel so we should have just walked lol) Would definitely recommend!

Our tour guide (Caleb?) was a great mix of information and entertainment. Two adults, a twenty something, and a teenager all thoroughly enjoyed the great blend of sightseeing and historic tall tales. We covered a lot of ground and there was one scheduled break in the tour. I would suggest that when the guides do stop for one of their stories that they occasionally try to plan it to be around some sort of seating area. Sometimes we were close enough to one but the guide stopped JUST short of the area. There were several of us on the tour that needed to sit for a few minutes and this would have been appreciated.
This tour is not to be missed. A really fun way to see Chicago and learn about it's interesting past!

Conor was an utter delight as my guide. I had the privilege of getting a solo tour of the locations and stops, which lead to dune great insights into the history and architecture of this great city. Thank you for telling me about the stock exchange room in the back of the Art Institute of Chicago, which most people miss because of the Chagall windows.

Our tour guide Kai was Awesome!! Very energetic, knowledgeable, and provided an over all great experience!!!

Rosa was great. Shared details of historic events of the city in relation to hauntings and gangster encounters. Her tour stood out I think because she used the inflections of her voice to emphasize certain facts which made you more engaged in the story.

Great tour. Connor is well informed, clear, and entertaining. Highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in learning about Al Capone and the mob's history in Chicago, but anyone who just wants to see more of downtown will enjoy.

Overall I would recommend this tour. It was interesting to hear the stories and visit some key landmarks across the city. We were lucky to find a groupon for it as well
Pros:
-Built in break as part of the tour for bathroom and refreshments
-Interesting mix of gangster stories and tragedies that lead to reported ghost sightings
-good mix of locations to see
-Guide provided a “bonus” story while we were waiting for people to return from the break
Reasons for the star reduction:
-The tour started right at 8pm, I’ve been on dozens of tours worldwide and this is the first one that didn’t give people a 5 minute grace period (we arrived at 8:02pm and nearly missed the tour completely even though we were texting with the guide).
-Maybe he was having an off-night but there were several times when our guide Conor stumbled, or it was difficult to hear him. He was overall pretty informative, although he had to be asked to point out some obvious landmarks like the Chicago Picasso or didn’t acknowledge the Eternal Flame Memorial at all despite us standing next to both for 10 minutes (most people stayed a bit to figure it out)
-The tour ends very far from the original meeting spot

I thought this tour was great!! You don’t end up in the same place you start so be prepared for that but there are rickshaws everywhere so we grabbed one of those. Lizzy put your guide was a joy!!

I went on this tour with my wife and two friends, it was a lot of fun, and very informative. Our tour guide Caleb was great, filling us in on the unique and tragic history of Chicago. He also gave us some great recommendations for food. We visited Devil dawgs on his recommendation, and did not regret it.
Bethanie Bates
Our tour guide Conor was great. He was knowledgeable and friendly and had food recommendations for us during our trip in Chicago. Thanks!

I was on the fence on whether or not we should do this tour but I’m glad we did!
We went on this tour this morning and had a great time. We are a family of 5 and our kids are 8, 11, and 13. Our tour guide, Kai was great! She sent a text in the morning before the tour with pertinent information that was helpful on where to meet and what we would need.
She is a great story teller and really informative. She is passionate about the city of Chicago and the information she shares! She also shared other local information about what you are seeing that we didn’t get on our own. We’ve done several similar type tours in other cities and his is probably my favorite. She really does a great job of weaving historical, gangster, and paranormal events together, which was great!
My advice: get off the fence and do it. Booking was easy and quick.

I did this tour last month, and I recommend it to anyone visiting Chicago!! My tour guide, Stefan, was funny and knowledgeable. He made the tour very interesting. 10/10 for the tour and Stefan!
The company itself was awesome too. I ended up missing the time slot for the tour I initially booked for (I walked the wrong way while trying to get to the starting point and didn't realize it until it was too late.) The tour guide from that tour I missed was texting me and said I could do another tour that day, and a staff member emailed me back almost immediately and made sure I was put on the list for that later tour. I still can't believe how accommodating they were! 10/10 customer service.

Fun, informative tour that covers the rise and heyday of Al Capone in wonderful detail. The guide also shared stories of harrowing disasters that plagued Chicago and spooky tales of the lingering ghosts. A lot of walking, but there’s also a nice break in the middle with a stop at a historic hotel.

So good! Kai was a great tour guide and the tour was way more interesting than a normal walking tour. The crime aspect is very cool.
Monkey Pig
It's ok. The stories weren't anything new. We did research of Chicago's history before hand. So the tour didn't end up being informative. The guide was slightly funny. There were just two of us. So we only lost 80$+10$ tips.
Devina Taimni
Braydon was an excellent guide and we loved the tour!! The stories are all super interesting, definitely recommend!
