Reviews of Rain City Cigar

Really knowledgeable staff. I have become a real fan of the 'Padron 1964 Anniversary' line, and 'Oliva V 135th Especial'.
Best part is not having to deal with Downtown Traffic or Parking issues, exit I-5 or 509/599 and they are right there, then easy to get back on too.

Was in need of a Father’s Day gift & found the perfect variety for my husband. They have over 500 cigars of all types and brands. The store representatives were super helpful and very knowledgeable. My husband enjoyed each cigar in our hand picked set. We will be back for more

I love Rain City because they have a great selection and very knowledgeable and helpful staff. They store all of their product well so that is in good condition when you buy it. The staff can tell you about the cigars, what's going on in the industry, and recommendations based on what you like. I have shopped here for many a year and never been disappointed.

I travel out of my way to come here. The staff have always been welcoming without being overbearing or snobby. The shop is tidy and well-stocked. It is my favorite cigar shop by far in the Seattle area.

After making a substantial purchase I cant help but feel unsatisfied. I was "helped" by a younger guy with long hair and a shaw and the whole time felt as though my newbie questions were an inconvenience for him and felt as though I had to extract my awnser from him. Although the shop seemed to have had a decent selection of cigars I would not expect to get great service as a new smoker. I am pretty disappointed especially since this shop is 1 mile from my work and I also work with quite a few cigar heads who dont know it is there.

Love this little shop. Great people, nice inventory of cigars and everything else you would need or want in store.. well maybe some plush leather chairs and a place to sit down and smoke would be nice as well. We can only hope. Cheers

I have been a pipe and cigar smoke now for quite some time, and as I try to support local at every chance, normally I gravitated toward Rain City Cigar. It is what I would call a true cigar shop. It may not have a "walk in humidor" for the public, but they maintain a precise and dedicated space for the fine art of cigar smoking.
In my pursuits, they have always been professional and friendly. I have been able to attend events, gain knowledge and keep my modest humidor stocked with a varietal of the most exquisite examples of cigar craftmanship. Never once have I felt toxicity or any pretentious tone.
That leads me to the reason for my post. I had not visited for some time, primarily due to Covid. I made the trek yesterday, January 16th. I did not ask the name of the gentleman working that day, though I should have. I cautiously entered, adorned in my mask, and asked the the occupancy limit. He stated he preferred no more than three, then thanked me for asking. Since only one other person was there, I moved inside, keeping respective distance. He explained to me that I could either sanitize and help myself, or wait for him to gather my selections. I stated that if it was all the same to him, I would point out my selections, which would minimize my presence even further. He kindly agreed.
He was helpful, attentive, and more than knowledgeable. But that is not the reason for my writing this. Yes, he was a model representation of Rain City Cigar, and an ambassador of the cigar smoking community. Of that, I have nothing but praise. However, it was his humanity and candor that moved me. As I shopped, we discussed the situation present in the world, of which both of us were weary. We traded gestures of concern and protocol, thanking each other along the way. It was a moment we solidified with an acknowledgement of how, in the most challenging of circumstances, a little patience, and kindness, can do so much and in minute supply with little to no effort. It was his kindness that drew me in, and gave me one of the best parts of that day. Rain City, if you read this, this man is golden. He is a gem. And he is the type of person I wish I encountered more often. Cheers, to him, whomever he may be. Thank you for the human interaction, in an unprecedented time. All the best.

Absolutely love this place. I'm a newbie and I'm already finding flavors and brands I love here. Super helpful and friendly staff. 😊 …

Easily the best cigar shop in Seattle. Prices are as good as it gets, outside of the unfair price advantages of a reservation or out of state mail order. The selection of cigars is the best there is around here, it is not just ok. If you do not see it, ask one of the staff. They will treat you like gold and do not mind talking with you. As to pipes. They have good selection of them and a but small but good pipe tobacco selection in bulk. Not much in the way of tins. Its better than most in this sad part of the world. Pipes are a sideline to them.

My go to for cigars. I always ask the staff to help me pick and have never been dissatisfied. Store is kinda small but gets the job done. They have brand name sale events all the time. Plus they have a huge inventory out back. Just ask if you don't see something.
