I purchased my first hand carved pipe recently and she continues to help me build my palette and cigar library by introducing me to some of the most amazing cigars. The cigar selection is good; I purchased numerous Balmore cigars from the Rep and smoked two which were in the medium plus range and very good. The lounge is not very big but a good size and the numerous smoke eaters on the walls and the one on the ceiling were effective in preventing the space from becoming to smokey.

I've been a regular here going on 5 years now. The location works great for me on Columbus' east side. The pricing has always been more than fair when comparing the same cigars at other shops. I haven't had any issues with the quality of the cigars(humidity) since I've been frequenting this place. This place for sure makes it easy to patronize here from the knowledgeable staff, to the friendly regulars. I went here one day for just a quick visit and that turned into me becoming a "regular. I will definitely continue recommending this place.

Close to home but rarely shop there...cigars are almost consistently dried out and crumbly...I usually have better luck with freshness on line or at another cigar store. Again I only go here as a last resort. Lady at the counter very friendly and helpful. Good sales person and knows a great deal about cigars. Place should look at their humidifiers and focus on keeping cigars fresh.

I am not a regular cigar smoker, but enjoy a nice quality cigar from time to time. As a fair-weather smoker, I am no expert, but when I indulge, I like to spring for something quality and tasty. I came to Pipes & Pleasures on a whim to pick up a cigar for a camping trip, and was blown away by not only the selection, but also the knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful staff. Even as a complete novice to all the various options and styles, I was able to tell her the general style of cigars I like and the occasion for the cigar, and was given a handful of options with details on the flavors, as well as pros/cons of each cigar. I left with an amazing cigar that even some of my more cigar aficionado friends were impressed with, and even had a couple of friends trying to trade their cigars with mine. I would highly recommend anyone who is either a more full-time smoker, as well as anyone who is just looking to pick something up as a one off occasion. The prices are competitive, and the customer service is reminiscent of time when everything was not so corporate. They are definitely my go-to cigar people now, and if you give them a visit, I think they will become yours too.

Went in for the first time about 30 minutes ago. As a newer pipe smoker it was an absolute dream. Very informative, friendly, you could smell the pipe tobacco in little samples and get a feel for something you'd like. It looks run down on the outside but it's 100 percent worth the visit. You can tell the woman who carves the pipes puts her soul into them. Would highly recommend to new comers and old school smokers. Got the black vanilla cavendish at $4 an ounce and it's phenomenal.

A wonderful local cigar shop with a great selection of premium cigars. The monthly events are always a blast! Jazz night is a great date night to attend while listening to live jazz and relaxing with cigars, while Ladies' night is a fun way to get out with my girlfriends. The staff are very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful while the regular customers are very welcoming to new comers. Definitely my go to lounge in Columbus.

I first discovered this store when I was studying in seminary (yes, studying philosophy goes a lot easier when smoking a pipe) and loved it! They are wonderfully accomidating. They have pipes and cigars for all budgets. Their house blends are wonderful and the selection of cigars and tinned and pouched pipe tobaccos are great. They also have a large selection of lighters and cigar and pipe tools. In the back of the store they have a lounge where you can smoke, enjoy a soda, and play games. It really is a great place not only to shop but to hang out! I would highly recommend paying the place a visit!

I stopped by to check out the pipe tobacco selection based upon the photos. Unfortunately, their tin stock is waning because of nonsensical government regulations. However, I had the pleasure of meeting Iris - she is a gem! She was very informative on how those regulations impacted the brick and mortar stores, but how they have a plan to replace the tin stock with as much bulk supply from their select providers. I didn't look at the cigar stock, but it looks like they have a pretty nice selection in their humidor. More importantly, PIPES! You want pipes? They got pipes and have them at good prices. I saw a few Meershaums that I want to add to my collection soon - meaning that I will be going back. I walked out with some Luxury Bullseye Flake and a tin of Andullo and will look forward to returning for the pipes, more LBF. Great store, Iris!

Great plac . A stalwart in the Columbus cigar and pipe community. Owner is awesome. They dont have a huge inventory, but definitely big enough to satisfy every kind of smoker. They also carry a lot of gems from the cigar world(ie..Sinistro, JSK, Crowned Heads.

For my first experience of going to this place I would say it is a place if you were trying to learn how to smoke cigars or pipes would be a great place to go for beginners because she does explain everything the owner and I really appreciate what she has company and show me about her shop and I have been to many cigar shops but I will say this one gave me more explanation of things than I could have imagined

As an update to my review I still believe Pipes & Pleasures is the place to go if you want an excellent selection and price range of cigars, tobacco pipes, tobacco and smoking accessories. Since purchasing my first pipe at P&P, I have continued to add to my collection of pipes; my most recent purchase being just yesterday. I purchased my first pipe from P&P. I was completely unaware of the pipe market, pipe makers and pipe shapes. I was treated with an overwhelming degree of courtesy and respect. Never was I pressured to make a purchase. I wasn't subjected to non-verbal cues that I was taking too much time or asking too many questions, and I wasn't abandoned to stand uncomfortably in utter confusion. I ended up purchasing a beautiful Stefano Santambrogio. Subsequent visits have resulted in me purchasing a couple of Savinellis, limited edition S&Rs, a L.Viprati, and others. I continue to enjoy the casual and friendly atmosphere at P&P. The smoking lounge has plenty of tables, leather couches and chairs making it very conducive to carrying on conversations with anyone in the lounge. Introductions are made quickly and everyone welcomes the newest smoking comrade. Enjoy a cup of house brewed coffee; watch the big screen TV; engage in friendly conversations; enjoy telling and listening to good jokes and stories; harass other smokers; read a book, magazine or paper; work or play on your computer - whatever you like to do while smoking a cigar or pipe.

I came in looking for a few cigars for a best man gift box. I don't smoke cigars a lot, but I've been in a few shops in my time. I usually stick to the macanudo in the white tubes. I've seen them for $5-$7 each, and that's the price I've always paid for them. Pipes and pleasures had them for $13. That's kind of high in price. I went with the macanudo Hyde park in the plastic wrap. He was charging almost $10 each for those when they are no more than an $8 cigar. I asked for a cutter, wasn't sure if I had an extra one at home for the box I was putting together. He immediately went to his $75-$100 cutters. I asked where is cheaper ones were and he showed me something that literally looked like a toy for $4.95. He wasn't very friendly either. It's clear I'm not an advance cigar smoker, but it doesn't mean he needs to treat me like one. I'll stick to have a cigar in Gahanna.

I am a pipe smoker so I really only checked into pipes and pipe tobacco. I have visited all the pipe shops in the Columbus area and Pipes and Pleasures is the absolute best when it comes to pipes and tobacco. They have the largest selection of tin and bulk tobacco that I have seen in Columbus. The pipe selection is enormous with plenty of new and estate pipes available. This is an excellant source for pipe smokers.

I just recently started the wonderful leisure activity of smoking a tobacco pipe. Smoking a tobacco pipe was something that I always wanted to try and thought the tobacco smoke smelled great. When I started to do my internet research on the types of tobacco and pipes, I found that I became overwhelmed. There are literally hundreds of blends, brands and cuts of tobacco. I decided that I would go to Smoker's Friendly nearby and purchase a $20 pipe, and try some different blends and brands of tobacco. When I came home, I read how to pack and light a pipe (very confusing as each author accounts a different way). I found out that I was not very good at it and became a little frustrated. Yesterday, my wife and I decided to make a trip to Columbus to Pipes and Pleasures to explore some pipe accessories, tobacco, and pipes (Pipes and Pleasures is world renowned for it's pipes). Upon our arrival, we were intimidated by all the tobacco and items in the store. We were greeted by Tony Tarantelli, one of the tobacconists. I explained to Tony about my new hobby and the issues I was having with properly packing the pipe and keeping it lit. Tony took nearly 30 minutes of his time even though the store was busy and started from the beginning with giving me a crash course on packing, lighting, and smoking a pipe. Afterwards, Tony explained to me the cuts, blends, and types of pipe tobacco. I learned more about the art of tobacco pipe smoking in that 30 minutes than I ever had reading and researching on the internet. Thank you Tony! I will most certainly return to visit Tony and the store again! Pipes and Pleasures is an awesome shop with tons of items relating to pipes and cigars. They carry hundreds of brands of tobacco, both cigar and pipes. They carry name brand high-quality pipes, but they do not come close to their beautiful handmade pipes that they carve. They have a large humidor for top dollar cigars, a nice lounge to sample the tobacco, and wonderful staff with tons of knowledge. It is a heaven for tobacco enthusiasts and a place that I will definitely re-visit time and time again!
