I was able to easily book an 11:30 appointment for tire replacement. But apparently the booking service didn't know that they only had one mechanic on duty. They didn't start my service until the time they'd said it should be completed. I understand that the pandemic has led to less service available, so the online booking service should delete at least half of the appointments.

Mario & Jose are a great team! Unfortunately I was getting some flats recently and they have been professional and prompt each and everytime. The Pepboys staff is very friendly and always have a light joke ready when you're at your lowest with car troubles. Mario Alvarenga gave me excellent service. He is very efficient. Had a number of clients in the waiting room. He took care of them all even had an upset customer and he still took care of that customer. There is an overload of responsibility for him by himself. Okay. Just double check their work. They informed me that I needed new windshield wiper blades when they were inspecting my car. I told him that was okay for them to replace them. Whoever installed my windshield wiper blades put the wrong blade on the wrong side of the window. A lot of cars windshields use different sized windshield blades. My car uses 22" on the passenger side and 18" on the driver side. Whomever install my windshield blades installed the 22" on the driver side of the windshield and the 18" on the passenger side of the windshield. The longer length blade cases damage to the windshield molding on the driver side. I did not notice this until it was raining. They got stuck and I'm not sure if there's long-term damage to my windshield wiper blade motor.

To start off I was greeted by a worker, I believe her name is Jasmine or Jazzy whichever ones: she’s very helpful, sweet, kind, bubbly and very knowledgeable about the products they have to offer. I told her I needed tires and if she can help finding the right tires for my car and she did. She explained practically what I needed to know and I thank her for it. I would definitely come back because of her customer service.

Service took 3 hours instead of 90 minutes. I will never go back to Pep Boys for service again. The manager Mario is not friendly at all. Did not feel welcome. Stay away from this location. You can buy things from their store, but their service bay sucks. 3 stars because they performed the work I paid for and they used the 20% off coupon I got from their website. Paid about $60 instead of about $80.

Do not come here if you are on a time restraint. While I appreciate the nice customer service, I made an appointment for an 8:00am appt for one tire change, they took my car back before 8:30am and it is 9:13am and I am behind my schedule for the day and my car still isn't done- for one simple tire change. I know there are 2 mechanics, and as the gentleman explained to me, the mechanic is thorough, which I get. But there is nothing further to inspect with a simple tire change. Respect the customer's time and schedule as well.

My car started having light problems where they turn on and off and I took my car to maybe 4 places before Pep Boys could figure it out. Julio Carrasco is the best electrician where many have failed and he was able to figure it out, he is absolutely the best of the best. Thank you Julio and Pep Boys team, they even offered me a pep boys credit card and guess what… I was approved so now I have a whole year to pay my bill, interest free! It does not get any better than that. I most definitely recommend Pep Boys in Langley Park, Maryland.

Went here to get my tires replaced, windshield wipers done and an oil change after relocating across the country for a job. My tires were balder than Patrick Stewart, they were *bad*, and the staff here were super friendly and gave me a great deal. Honestly, if I had known it would be this hassle free, I wouldn't have put off getting new tires for so long. 10/10 will definitely come to this location again.

I bought four Hankook Optima tires on Pep Boys website, and had them shipped to the store. I gave an extra day for delivery, and made an appointment for 9 am the day after. Pep Boys website had a very competitive (even best) price all in (tires, free shipping to store, installation, valves, and balancing, road hazard insurance and alignment). My appointment time was honored, and I was done in about 90 minutes, which is reasonable for the work done. Store is close to convenience stores and some restaurants, so I could occupy myself during the wait. Overall, an excellent tire purchase and installation experience ... as good as any I have had.

I even made a purchase in the parts store and had the same experience in that part of Pep Boys. I noticed my tire was flat around 9pm last night while visiting my mother. I put some air in it as a quick fix, hoping it would survive my 30 mile work commute to Baltimore. Luckily, it did, with no flat. However, I decided it was best to take it in for inspection anyway. I got there around 8:15, about 45 minutes before they were to close. The service specialist, Antonio, came out to my car, found the problem and said it would only take a few minutes to repair, but since it was so soon to closing time, he was unsure if their mechanic would be able to get to my tire. Sure enough, the mechanic said he wouldn't do it. I told Antonio that I had a long commute to work tomorrow and asked if there was anything I would be able to do about getting my car in the next morning to ensure I wouldn't be late. Without a hesitation, he told me to hold on and went back into the garage. A few seconds later, he came back out and started taking my information. Assuming he was setting me up for an appointment tomorrow morning, I asked him how this was going to work. He replied "I'm going to fix your tire." Fifteen minutes later, when my tire was all finished, a bit confused, I asked him what happened, because I thought the one mechanic that was there was too busy to service my vehicle. He told me that he helped the mechanic out, to speed along the process so that my car could be worked on. Although it was probably something small for them, the fact that he was able to take on extra work to help me get work on my car done solidified my opinion about this place. I'll definitely be going back next time I have tire issues. Thanks, Pep Boys.

The overall experience wasn't that bad, but I will say they could use improvment. The service writers will ignore you for about 10 minutes before they acknowledge you've been standing there. They are willing to do the work but aren't smiling and won't be happy. I went to get 4 tires, mount and balance and an alignment and left with 3 scratched rims and an alignment?? I put the questions marks because I never received the receipt the alignment machine spits out showing you before/after and I was also refunded the alignment money, to compensate for the scratched rims. If your looking to go in with a goal, cut and dry, no smiling or friendliness bs and want maintenance done to your car, then this is the place for you. If your looking for someone to actually care about you and your vehicle and would appreciate small talk, this isn't the place for you.

Honest, good service, relatively cheap compared to area service spots. Only issue is they have you on hold for the longest time but when you're there it seems like that's all they do is pick up the phone an put it on hold. They can fix cars though... really it would be 5 stars if it weren't for the phone. The actual wait times for service are not bad.

Estefanie was really great! She went far and beyond helping us with our needs. We were looking for a particular small seal for our engine. It's a small plastic seal that wears down after time with varying temperatures. If it wasn't for her then we wouldn't have been able to get it in time! My dad was in town and he fixed my oil leak with that part. If she hadn't gone out of her way to make sure we got it then it wouldn't have been fixed! She is clearly very knowledgeable and always seems to have the right answers. Thanks Estefanie!

Auto parts store it's pretty well stocked never been there for service only for parts. The parts are a little bit more than AutoZone however they generally run a special that is 20 to 25% off. So always check the promo codes even if they say for online only. The staff is generally pretty nice and helpful.

Excellent. The manager, Mario, could not have been nicer to work with - respectful and knowledgable. My grandson slipped a quarter into the cd player and we couldn't get it out. Toyota said it would take at least 4 weeks because they had to take the stereo system out and send it to the manufacturer to be worked on. I've had good experiences with Pep Boys in Atlanta, so I stopped in and spoke with Mario. He told me one of his guys has expertise in car stereo systems and he'd have him take a look at it. It was fixed in less than 2 hours and the price was very reasonable compared to Toyota!!

Just went by Pep Boys on a Sunday night to buy some synthetic oil that I have been looking for everywhere for my diesel BMW. The store manager and cashier could not have been more helpful in accepting the return of my old oil then, when I could not locate the right filter for my engine, allowing the substitution of a filter from a different manufacturer for the sale price. Recommend highly.

They do not remove your battery for you, however the service attendants working inside of the pep boys store went above and beyond to help me make sure I did not improperly remove it myself I wish I got the guy's name, he even walked me over to the service department even though he worked in the store which was not connected they were very helpful

It could not have been better. I was driving along and heard a weird sound when I used the Brakes. I pulled in, they looked at them right away and only suggested replacing the one set of brakes that had gone bad. In and out in less than 90 minutes and they didnt try to sell me up, or make me pay more than we needed. I even got a small discount of 25 dollars they were slow and wanted me to get the work done then. I trust them.

Set up an early morning appt, but there's always a line to check in and u and up being late for ur appt. I set it up to avoid waiting so long, but it seems to make no difference. I was there for my 8am app, but was not finished until 12:15! It's becoming ridiculous to bring my car here...smh

I would like to commend a young man by the name of Steven for taking the time to balance the air in my tires yesterday 11/15/15. I am a 64 yr. old women with Rheumatoid Arthritis & cannot bend down low or long enough to put air in my tires and needed the air balanced to make my 2-1/2 hr drive back to Richmond, VA. i am giving this place top honors so it will alert you that pep boys in general blows away Merchant or Midas..I have gone to three seperate Pep Boys and all were easily 40% less same work . Merchant/midas quoted $895 to put in new tires/alignment for my Jeep .. Pep boys was about $580 plus life time tire service. Another time i went to M/M for oil change and they said needed over $900 to fix brakes...went to pep boys and said can wait another six months. There are so many places near this location to build a much bigger Pep Boys. this place is overwhelmed because there is nothing in the area that can match it. They just need to expand. It is crazy ..

I've used the Pep Boys for auto maintenance all across the country - Chicago, Omaha, & Minnneapolis. The Hyattsville location is as good as its desk manager. When it was Mario, things were great. When one has to deal with Babington, things are bad. They've seen the light and brought Derek who is making things great again. He understands the meaning of customer service and the value of keeping a long-term customer. Now that Derek is in charge - I recommend working with him, Joe-the-mechanic, Jose, Joao, and Kofi. They are fair and honest. The leadership change makes all the difference.
