Very fast service, clear with pricing. I wasn't pushed for extra services I didn't need. I was offered brake light bulb replacement and headlight restoration, both of which I knew I needed (the lights on our 16yo truck were really fogged over and probably wouldn't have passed inspection, and one of three bulbs in the tail light was out.) And the headlights look almost brand new now!
Would've been nice if they'd put the spare back under the truck, that's the only small thing. Otherwise very pleased.

My vehicle has been dealer kept all its life, but when it developed a safety issue Pep Boys got me in fast! I especially appreciate Sandra, who is very knowledgeable, no nonsense, fair and confident in her field. She helped guide me through the process with having my front end repaired and took the time to explain thoroughly exactly what needed to be done! I was so impressed with her that I actually decided to buy a set of tires after the repair! She made sure the tires would be appropriate for my needs AND within my budget! While waiting for the initial service, I had the opportunity to wait in the lounge and observe her taking care of other customers and I was amazed at how well she was able to interact with her customers, so many of them were demanding and rude yet she kept a smile on her face and continued to be honest and fair with them! You truly have an asset in Sandra and I will continue to come back based on the way she treated me and others! I hope to update this review once my ongoing repair issues are completed.
EDIT: Jay was the service person that handled my warranty work on the front end and new tire installation. Although he didn't have my appointment in his books, my tires had in fact arrived as scheduled and he honored my appointment.
The installation was FAST!!! So fast that they forgot to put my wheel center caps back on properly!!! I am missing one and one is loose. New appointment now and will update with details.

Had an unfortunate flat tire late at night on a Saturday. Pep Boys Manchester was able to get my car in on Sunday morning and repair it quickly for a very fair price. They sent text messages advising me of the progress of the repair and I was able to pick it back up about 2 hours earlier than expected. This particular store doesn't sell auto parts anymore. The tire service was excellent. They also gave advice on returning to have the lug nuts re-tourqued after 25 miles which is a good safety tip. Thank you!

I have never had a good experience at a car place. Most times they see a young woman and talk to her like she's stupid, or try to upsell on stuff the car doesn't really need because they assume she's uneducated. NOT THIS PLACE. The manager and assistant are SO NICE. They were professional and had some of the best customer service I've had in a while. I will NEVER go anywhere else now as long as Sandra and James are working there!

Jay and the Pep Boys team in Manchester saved the day for me and my family! I had just bought new tires one week ago and come back from a hike with my wife and two-year-old to find a FLAT TIRE!!!
Turns out it was a piece of razor blade (just my luck) and that meant I needed a new tire. We live near Boston so we couldn’t make it home. Jay made sure we’d leave with the right tire and also checked on our warranty status. A fellow dad, he knew that safety was the top priority. He didn’t want us leaving with any concerns.
I’d recommend this Pep Boys location to anyone in the area or someone like us who was just in town for the day. Most places would’ve turned us away on a Sunday a couple hours before closing. Not store #0849. Thanks Jay!!!

I am writing to recognize an overwhelmingly positive experience which I recently had with the Manchester New Hampshire branch of Pep Boys. The employees in this location went above and beyond to help me in a situation that was dire. I will be eternally grateful for their help, and I am now a committed customer to the store.
Last night, on the way from Massachusetts to meet a friend in Manchester New Hampshire for dinner, I suffered a flat tire. The tire went flat on the highway, and I struggled to get the car off the road to a safe place.
Bear in mind that this occurred on a Sunday night at approximately 5:30 PM. When I pulled off the highway, I managed to make it to the closest tire store, which was a Firestone branch. Unfortunately for me, Firestone did not have the size tire necessary for my vehicle.
By the time Firestone informed me that they could not help, it was after 6:00 PM. I began frantically making phone calls to other tire vendors in the area.
I was incredibly fortunate to connect with Josh at the Manchester Pep Boys location. I explained my situation to him, and the fact that my car was no longer drivable. I told him that I would need to get a tow truck to bring the vehicle to his store, which was located about three miles away.
I was aware that Josh’s store was scheduled to close at 7:00 PM. I called AAA, and was informed that a tow truck could not possibly arrive by 7:00 PM. In fact, the tow truck eventually arrived at 7:25 PM.
When I spoke to Josh about this, he said, "I will be here. Don’t worry about it."
I called Josh two more times to keep him updated as I tracked the tow vehicle progress. By the time the vehicle made it to the Pep Boys store, it was after 7:30 PM.
Josh and his cohort, Carl, cheerfully greeted me when I arrived. They quickly and efficiently diagnosed the issue and replaced the flat tire. In the course of doing this, they noticed that another one of the tires had a sharp piece of road debris which had punctured another one of the tires. Josh showed me how the second tire had been damaged, and although it had not gone flat yet, it was very unsafe to drive. I quickly agreed to replace that tire as well.
I was incredibly lucky to meet Josh and Carl last night. They both went above and beyond my expectations for assistance in any retail situation.

They do quality work on your vehicle, but are not great at customer service, and the waiting area is hot and uncomfortable, no longer providing even coffee or water for free. Perhaps they will make aesthetic improvements as they transition to an all servicing station and phase out the retail store (too bad).

I had been putting off getting my valve stem fixed and coming here was super easy! I booked online two hours ahead of time, got there, explained my issue, and gave them my keys. They diagnosed the issue, the solution was easy and they changed my air filter, too. The crew was my favorite part, good-hearted guys who made my wait all the better with lively conversation. Extra thanks to Bill for helping me and other customers with professionalism. Will be back!

The Manchester location is AMAZING!! The customer service is exceptional from EVERYONE that works there. I have an awesome experience every time we visit! I wouldn’t go anywhere else!! Noy and his crew treated me with such respect, I am glad to tell everyone about this place. I got my new tires put on last week, and they accidentally cracked a wheel skin made for my vehicle. He stated he was gonna replace it, and he did! He said he bought 4 of them so they all looked brand new! He didn't charge me for the others, and I am so incredibly grateful for this gift!! He is such a nice guy, and I would send anyone there for service!

I brought in my vehicle to diagnose a recent issue. I did not have an appointment and I could tell it was busy as they were working on a number of vehicles. I spoke with Joe and he was happy to take a minute to understand my issue. Joe was able to diagnose and repair my vehicle within a reasonable amount of time despite not having an appointment. He was able to get the job done while prioritizing other vehicular needs as well. Affordable and quality work in a timely manner. Cant argue with that.

This review is a little late but this past October I had great customer service from Pep Boys. After being quoted extremely high from another car shop for very little work, Pep Boys gave me a reasonable quote for much more work. The car has run GREAT since, they had me in and out very quickly and treated me extremely friendly. In addition, they have mailed me coupons which I plan to use next time something pops up. Very happy with the service here, have recommended others to go here and will be coming back.

An appointment means nothing. Useless. Made an appointment at 9am and was here on the dot. Was told 3 hours to have tires mounted an balanced. The employee comes out to me 8.5 hours later and says “they just have to mount and balance your tires, you’ll be out of here by 6”. 8.5 hours and nothing was done. Not to mention the $198 estimate turned into $480. It’s sad to see businesses with such low standards and poor work ethic. They have a nice waiting room which is nice - because you’ll be there all day.

My car broke down Sunday. Even though they were closed I was able to arrange tow and repair service. Monday at the close of the work day, I had my car back. Clean, well stocked, but appointments can be an issue. I have run into several cases where I set up an appointment online and they wouldn't honor it, and I would have to reschedule when I was at the store. I have now taken to simply calling and scheduling appointments over the phoen. Otherwise their service is very good and reasonably priced.

Auto repair shops are notorious for bad service. I had a good experience at the Manchester (S. Willow) Pep Boys--I had rear brakes replaced (audible wear indicator) plus an oil change and new air filter. The service techs were polite and pleasant, my appointment time was kept, the estimate was followed (no bait and switch), and discount coupons were honored.
I am not a mechanic so I have no way of evaluating the actual work but I assume it was competent. And my overall experience was very positive. So I will go back and I can highly recommend this particular PepBoys at least for routing service.

I have been using Pep Boys for over 3 years now. The last 6 months I have seen a big change. For the worse. Service is awful, the front end employees in service is bad. I have a fleet account an now leaving. This place needs new management. Gary the assistant manager is awesome. But he is out due to reasons. I am taking my business elsewhere unless things change for the better.

My only complaint about my experience here is that they forgot my car was still in a bay while I was in the waiting room and the guy who checked me in went to lunch. Aside from that mismanagement mishap, this location has a solid crew who did a very good job with what I paid for. I'll be back in June for my next service.
One major thing to note is these guys are very transparent about additional fees. Some vehicles require additional kits for a proper wheel alignment--Pepboys tells you about it, NONE of their local competition mentions it, but their competitor right next door will spring the additional $100 fee on you as you wait and already got your bill. Wonder who is next door at this location? 🤔

If they make a mistake they always fix it too which is awesome and they always take responsibility for what they do good or bad this is why I keep coming back. I used the website to choose what kind of oil and service I needed and scheduled an appointment for it. When I got there I was greeted and immediately handed over my keys and the car went into the garage 20 minutes later. They offered a free inspection with the plan I went with and, a tire rotation. Indeed, the mechanic did do a tire rotation and it looked like he spent some time inspecting everything. My issues are that they never told me what state the car was in nor did they leave me with any paperwork related to the inspection. Furthermore, no one told me my car was ready! I assumed they had paper work to fill out and complete, but after a half an hour I decided to ask. The car was ready but they left me hanging. From 10 am to 1 pm. No inspection results and they gave me the cheap oil when I clearly clicked on the oil for engines with 75k miles +. A little bit disappointed.

Off day for them? Usually they are very good, today however was not one of those days. Took a little over 2 hours to get my oil changed, which is crazy. They forgot to clean out my car afterwards, I know have a new cleaning rag. The neglected to tell my car was done and only after I saw in the parking lot and went over and asked if it was done did they write it up. Charged me the wrong price and only after I mentioned it did they fix it. Overall was just terrible today.

After purchasing a used vehicle from Auto Drive One in Saugus, Ma. and having a 30 day written warranty for any repairs needed I had to used Pep Boys because this is who they had their corporate account with. After finding out from Luke that the car needed 4 new tires plus front and rear brakes he was only able to get 2 new tires and the front brakes authorized by Auto Drive. Luke went above and beyond what the definition of good customer service is all about. He knew my car would not pass inspection yet his hands were tied. When his manager Joe stepped in and realized that people and their safety meant more than the almighty dollar, my car got 4 brand new tires. The rear brakes were not as much of an immediate issue that needed dealing with that day. Luke and Joe restored my faith in humanity and I am a Pep Boys customer from this point forward.

Excellent customer service. Went in today to return a battery core simply because I cannot have it sitting in my garage. Called in advance to make sure that they would take it even though I didn't have my receipt because the replacement was purchased 3-4 months ago. Not only did the manager take the battery but gave me the core refund after unsuccessfully looking up my receipt even after I told him I wasn't looking for the refund.

Went in today and explained to William Moore exactly what I needed for my wife’s truck. He asked me a few questions and then asked me to wait a minute while he went and retrieved all of the brake parts I needed. He came back with the shopping cart full of parts and then gave me a great discount for being a rewards member. Now that is what I call customer service! Anywhere else, I would have had to look for the parts myself and figure out what I needed. This is the way it should be done. Way to go William and Pep Boys.

It is unfortunate that all of the other reviewers have had unfavourable experiences here. I can only speak for myself, but my recent experience at Pep Boys of Manchester, NH was exceptional. So good that not only am i writing this review, but i also took the time to call their corporate number to make sure they are recognized for their excellent service. I now make a 35 mile drive all the way to this store, forsaking all of my more local options, solely because of the impression which was made on me here.
At first i felt forced to shop here, i neglected an alignment after replacing my rear suspension, and i burned through my rear tires. my car being AWD i couldnt just get two random new ones, the fronts were still new so i decided i would get two of the exact same type instead of outlaying on four new tires. The tires on my car were a Pep Boys exclusive tire. So my only option was to get 2 new tires at pep boys, or else purchase a full set of 4 somewhere else.
I called and set up an appointment and they confirmed it and said the tires would arrive from their factory in time. I called the morning of the appointment, and it turned out the tires weren't there. the guy says " just come down here, and we'll figure something out." The store is over an hour away from me so i was hesitant. I didnt have extra cash and i didnt know what he meant by "figure it out"
I went there, and was informed that because the error was on their end, i would be receiving a full set of 4 comparatively priced tires for the same price as 2. I also got a good deal on the full 4 wheel alignment, mounting, and balancing. Every 15 minutes, one of the service guys, mostly Mike, Joe, or James, would check up on me, and let me know how the process was going. If they noticed any other issues with my car while they were under it, they informed me so that i could have them addressed.
All in all, i now have 4 brand new tires, when i only expected 2 and i didnt pay a cent more. They corrected the inconvenience and then some. A lot of places would have done nothing, and just apologized, leaving me nowhere. The guys at Pep Boys were welcoming, polite and got me on my way, in much better shape than when i came in. This is where i'll be going from now on. The entire sales team is polite, and friendly whether on the phone, or in person, and i look forward to having more positive experiences with them!

When someone (especially a young girl) comes in with no clue which way is up, most car repair shops would try and take advantage. Not Pep Boys. An employee named Liz postponed her lunch break and took more than half an hour to explain to me exactly what my car needed and what I should be doing. I have been to this Pep Boys several times, not to buy parts but to have service done. They have been more punctual, fair , understanding than my local Ford dealer here in Manchester, who I will never go back to, if ever there has been poor customer service it has been through my local Ford dealer, Pep Boys has been straight with me, a bit pricy sometimes, but still cheaper than Ford.

They have lots of parts, but staff is lazy, unhelpful, don't go above and beyond to help. Don't loan tools or venture out into the parking lot to answer any questions. Very unhelpful, uninformed kids with no work ethic.
