First time at the shop. No appointments, walk ins only. You can either wait (it may take as long as 2h sometimes) or drop your car off and pick it up later. One of my tires was losing pressure every 2 or 3 days. They found the problem that another garage missed. A tiny nail on the tire’s shoulder. Thanks guys!

Awesome guys to work with. Being a technician I hate bringing my car to others for work but unfortunately don’t have a machine to mount tires. Techs were knowledgeable and were able to spot a bend in a wheel. I ordered the tires ahead of time and showed up 2 hours before my appointment as requested, they got me in for new tires and an alignment. All in 3 hours. Would definitely recommend them whether you’re knowledgeable or not with cars.

I was put on a 3-wk waiting list for a tire changeover with my regular mechanic, and VT Tire was able to take care of it the day after I called them. With that first-come- first-serve MO, I dunno how they don't fall behind every day... but it obviously works cause they've done it that way forever. Super- happy to be ready for the winter roads!

Great customer service! Our utility explorer is used in emergent transport services running around the clock and can’t be down long. The staff at Vermont tire took this in account and worked diligently around our schedule to get us back on the road. Will definitely be using them again!

I’m from out of town & had a tire emergency while trying to get home in CT. I initially spoke with Perry, who walked me through the process of getting it fixed. He was very patient, kind & professional. My tire was fixed without an appt, at a very reasonable cost & I was able to get back on the road & get home safe & sound. We were traveling through and needed to check a tire that was losing air. They discovered that the wheel was cracked and were able to get it welded up and get us back on the road quickly. They really went out of their way with exceptional service. Caleb and the manager were VERY helpful.

We have been customers for a very long time. This was not a good experience. We made an appointment on a Friday for four new tires to be installed the following Monday. Initially the salesman said they did not have the tires we wanted and then said that there were eight in stock. We dropped the car off in Sunday using the key drop. We called Monday morning to confirm the work and we were told it was all set. We heard nothing back so we called late afternoon to confirm that the car was ready for pickup. After being on hold for a long time we were told that they did not have the tires we wanted but that the work could be done the next day. We requested that it be done in the morning so we could get the car at noon. Again no call from the shop. We called at noon and were told that the car was in the shop but all installers had gone to lunch and it would be ready at 1:30. This was not good service especially considering the cost of the tires we bought.

VT Tires were able to get the Michelin tires I wanted -- hard to find and very limited possibilities for my European car. They were friendly and courteous, and got the job done within the time frame that I needed. I will definitely return!

VT Tire is first come first serve. On their website, they have a text-chat option available, so I messaged them about my specific car and they got back to me in a timely manner. I got there first thing Monday morning at 7:30am, and while there were +-10 people ahead of me, they got me in for 4 new winter tires, a multi-point inspection and an oil change. Everyone I dealt with was kind and helpful.

Came in for an alignment on my 2012 VW GTI after noticing uneven wear on my front tires. The technician checked in with me throughout the process to provide updates and explained the pros and cons of doing just the fronts as opposed to all four. I opted to do the 4 wheel alignment and was in and out in under an hour. Extremely pleased with the level of service and the results!

Vermont tire is awesome and is the only place I would go to for anything tire/wheel related in the area. I tried to cheap out and order online and have them shipped, and after checking with shops for the cost to mount/balance realized that it was cheaper to buy them locally, and then the benefits of things like a free alignment/balance are there too from VT tire. I will happily be buying directly from them moving forward as they have helped me out on getting tires on 4 of my vehicles (with summer and winter sets for some) and been the best value every time. Im used to being surprised by how HIGH my bill is but here I always find myself surprised by how low it is. The big thing that earned a customer for life was when I picked up my vehicle after having tires swapped and left to hear a ticking noise from the back. (Mind you this was at 5:00 on a friday). I called them, and they said come back, took apart the brakes to find where it was rubbing, and realized the wheel bolt was too long from the custom spacers, so they shaved it down and reassembled the whole thing before making sure it was flawless. All at no charge. Thank you Vermont Tire!! You guys Rock!

Arrived early, 5th in line, to get my tires swapped & an inspection. Thought maybe a couple hours or a bit more but never did I think I’d be leaving after 4 plus hours. Dave said, “It actually isn't first-come-forst serve. They prioritize which gets to go in first among the first 10 plus folks. In the end, Dave was very kind to give us a break in price. Their work is ALWAYS reliable!

My TBS light came on again for the third time I went to Vermont tire I was in and out and they replaced the valve stems on my tires great service great people and ordered my winter tires. Came in at 7:30 to put my winter tires on was out of there by quarter of 11:00 it was 25 people in front of me and I was in and out of there with 3 hours staff there are very friendly

Brought in for inspection and due to an emissions prob it failed and they tried a few things but ultimately I had to get a catalytic converter put on at a different garage as they don't do those. And just brought it back for re-inspection they always go out of their way to try and help great team of guys, thanks Dave Butterfield and the rest of crew!

I love these guys! Had a brake job done in January 2021 and they started squeaking again in June 2022--they adjusted them, no charge. Service like this is rare nowadays. Solid company! I had a tire problem recently while visiting family in Burlington Vt from Canada. Went to two other stores first as did not know where to go in the area. As the Tire Warehouse showed up as being very close to our Hotel I tried them first . Don't go there!!!! Enough said !! I was told to try Vermont Tire at the next shop I found and boy was I glad I found their location. They are very professional and helpful people . Wonderful place to wait and feel safe and in good hands . Price was fair ,good choice of tires to choose from and made feel like family by the staff. I would say the best service I have had when away from home and would recommend this store to anyone who wants to receive good old fashioned service PLUS !! Well done folks and thanks . When you are new to an area you realize just how many services you depend on, now that you have to find all new providers. It's especially hard during pandemic times when you leave it to the last minute. The folks at VT Tire were fabulous. I appreciate their road sign that says when they have run out of slots for the day and that I was able to put myself in line on the phone. I expected to wait a few hours in their decent waiting room, but they offered to shuttle me home and back since I'm within their radius. They picked me up a little before five and I had my car back. I've been driving on the tires during a few snow events since then and they are wonderful. The desk people helped me pick the right ones for my needs and I'm satisfied.

TL:DR: great service Went in to see if they could repair a tire that kept going flat. They were quick to help and started working on my issue promptly. They explained the repair couldn't be done and spent a lot of effort to try to find a replacement tire. They were great and found one that'd work for my budget.

Quick to get me a quote from the online form, tires were in stock, shuttle service was excellent and got me where I needed to go. I did need to get there before they opened and wait in line a bit to grab a spot for that day, but that was no problem for me. Monday afternoon I put in for a quote-Wednesday afternoon tires were on and I am ready for snow season driving. These guys are working hard to get those winter tires on and they do a great job! Highly recommend.

This past weekend, we discovered our back left tire was flat. What a way to begin our weeklong vacation in Shoreham VT. After calling several companies in the area and being told they'd get back to me, I called and spoke to Dave Butterfield at VT tire who stayed on the phone with me going over my options. With that being said, Dave got me in for a same day12:30 pm appointment. Within the hour my vehicle was in a bay being serviced and after about 45 minutes my Mazda CX-9 was ready with four brand new tires.

Vermont Tire & Service got us out of a real bind. We needed one replacement snow tire and nobody else in town or online had the one we needed. I called VT Tire and they had 13 in stock. I brought the wheel and damaged tire in on a Saturday morning and 30 minutes later the new one was mounted and balanced and I was on my way home. Service was friendly, helpful, and fast! Will definitely go back in the spring to buy a set of all-season tires.

Yesterday my oil light came on. This was alarming as it never happened before. I stopped and checked it and it was quite low. Fortunately I was right near Vt Tire. Bottom line I would recommend Vermont Tire and Service. The process was a little clunky, but of course they are insanely busy heading into winter. When I ordered my winter tires it was not made clear that my order was held until a specific date. I thought that date was my appointment. But no problem, the man on the phone said that I could drop off my car at night and it would be serviced the next day. However when I dropped my car off at night there was a sign that said service wasn’t guaranteed the next day. Now I understand the process and I will use them again in the future.

I came to get my snow tires put on about a week and a half after the first snow. So I knew I was going to have to inevitably wait a while that morning. I arrived at Vermont Tire at 6:45am, was the 15th person in line and waited with everyone outside until 7:30 am when the business opens. The staff opened the doors and right away got to business. Inside the business was warm, they offered hot coffee and the local news. A shuttle was also offered for locations in a 5 mile radius but If you stayed they prioritized your car. Though I recommend you to bring anything to keep you occupied while you wait, my car was done in 3 hours. The wait wasn’t bad, There was no where else for me to that morning anyways. My regular seasoned tires were wrapped in individual bags and placed in my car for me when all was said and done. I will go back to Vermont Tire again and again.

I'm very happy with the work I got done. I went through the service department instead of the sales department and was provided excellent service. Being from out of state and having never lived in this climate they hooked me up with what I needed at a reasonable price. My only caveat, and I was tempted to lower it to four stars, is that they need more staff because it seems as though one person is responding to all phone calls and most customer service, even though there are others working. They need a bit more organization and a lot more space. They're getting enough business now that they would probably benefit from an office manager who's willing to delegate responsibility. Other than that I'm happy with the service I got

I was late this season getting my snow tires on and when I called around I was told it would be weeks before the next available appointment. Then I called Vermont Tire and was told it was first come first served to have my snow tires put on. Had a friend follow me and dropped off the car around 8:30am and they called a few hours later and said it was ready. Super easy!

Great winter tire service! Love the first-come, first-served approach. Other places were scheduling out 3-5 weeks, so this was a great option for me. Pro tip: they open at 730 am, and by 630 am I was 10th in line. Earliest birds came at 500 am, with chair, coffee and warmly dressed.

Didn’t try to up-charge or upsell when I paid & reiterated the fact that if they can avoid replacing a tire by repairing it they always will. Appreciated this and will return for my snow tires.

I brought my car in Saturday morning to install my snow tires. After waiting an hour in line before the place opened I was told that I would be called later in the day potentially after they closed to pay over the phone and then I could pick up my car. They never called me so I tried to call them but could not get through. I needed my car the following day so I had to come in and pick it up which then required me to drive back a third time to pay and pick up my key. When I Told him about the situation there was never any apology or expression of concern that I had to drive in on a workday just to get my key and pay. On the bright side, cost was much cheaper than any place I’ve ever used in the past and it was nice not to have to wait weeks or months to get the tires installed.

I would give 6 stars if I could. I wish I knew about Vermont Tire & Service sooner! I have been taking my 4WD truck to a dealership for regular maintenance for the last 2.5 years, but as soon as I set up an alignment appointment with VTT&S, they diagnosed a suspension issue that could’ve cost me way more if it went on any longer. The techs are friendly and super knowledgeable, and Nick, the service manager, explained everything in perfect layman’s terms in addition to bringing me out to the garage to visually show me the issue while the truck was up on the lift. Also, worked quickly to get the parts I needed so I’m back on the road ASAP. Sincere thanks, all. Best service I’ve ever received at any shop.

I would have left 5 stars but when I left the parking lot the day my new tires were put on and got on the interstate my steering wheel started to shake really bad. So I called and they had me bring it back in and discovered my front left tire was never collaborated or balanced. Not good since I was driving to NY the next day. Also, my experience with one of the front desk guys was less than pleasant. He made me feel like I didn't know what I was saying and never apologized for me having to bring my car back after they had it all day. They also wanted to charge me $4 per tire to dispose of my old ones. One would think they would have waived that after the error they made. I was never upset about the situation even though it took up two hours of my time away from from job which I had to make up. Just a simple I'm sorry would have been nice. The kid that fixed the tire was the only one who apologized to me.

I took my boyfriend’s car to his alignment appointment at 11. We also asked them to check the tires to make sure they were balanced after he got brand new tires put on that Monday. I was told it would take 1 to 1.5 hours so I was waiting around the area. Close to the 1.5 hour mark I asked one of the employees how it was going and I was informed the team was on their lunch break until 12:30 and they wouldn’t be done until 1. As someone who works in customer service too, I found it extremely disappointing to not be updated during my wait and that they could not finish up before taking a break for lunch. I was there for nearly 2 hours and honestly don’t even know if the tires got balanced because I just needed to leave at that point.

This tire place is first come, first serve, and I loved it. They open at 7:30 am but the line starts around 6:00-6:20 am-ish, I got in line at 6:35 am and I was the 13th person in line. If you call, they tell you all this. They are friendly, hardworking, honest, efficient, and local. Everything was spot on for quoted price and timing, I would recommend and will be going back. Bonus: They are also funny and very nice!

I had a very good experience. I’m a first time customer. I made an appt and asked for a very specific tire and they ordered it for me. I got a call that my car was ready within 90 minutes of my appt time. I own three cars and make a lot of service appts and prefer early appointment times I feel like my car is never ready except at the end of the day or the next day. It was nice to make an 8 am appt and have a call at 9:30 that the car was ready.

The staff was pleasant and the service was quick and inappropriate. Needed one tire checked for leakage. Was told I needed to spend $150.00 for replacement cost. I left without it being repaired cause they said it was unrepairable. Then I took it to Tire Warehouse in Burlington with a scheduled appointment via the internet along with a coupon for free service. It was so pleasing to get it done right. Just some sanding of the rim and now the tire will last till winter. Be careful to make sure your tires are inspected well before buying some from tires of vermont.

However, I got to the point where I really had to get my snow tires off. They were very accommodating. I was able to have an appointment, they provided a chair so I could sit outside socially distant from staff and other customers, and we were able to do the whole appointment without contact. I came in with a large bolt punctured through a new Nokian tire and they got me in as a walk in and shortly later I was out the door with a patched tire and rebalanced wheel. I noted the fact that after they tightened the lug nuts with the air impact wrench, they went around and double-checked with a torque wrench. Every place *should* do that, but not every place *does* do that. And, it was nice to deal with people that treated me like a customer, and not an interruption.

They were able to squeeze me in to get my tires changed last Wednesday even though they were busy. Although they were able to get my tires done I had to schedule an appointment for my alignment the next morning. Upon leaving I noticed a light was on that never was before. (My tpms “air pressure”) my tires seemed to be inflated enough so I wasn’t too worried but the next morning I let them know that I now had a light on and asked them to check it out. They were half an hour late for my scheduled alignment and when I received my car back the light was still on with no explanation as to why. I took my car to my cousin and he checked the air in all four of my tires to no fail they were all fine. That being said I am now taking my car to a family friend who is a mechanic to figure out which sensor they messed up and I will be bringing it back to them to replace the sensor on them! Other than that they were pleasant to deal with and the pricing wasn’t bad.

i first went to Vermont Tire 10 years ago because they were the ONLY shop in town that had my odd sized tires in stock. I continue to go to them because they always offer excellent service, they do their best to squeeze you in when you are in a jam ( like the time they stayed open until 7pm the day before thanksgiving in the middle of a blizzard to replace my bald tires), and they offer very competative prices. They performed a number of large mechanical services on my car at half the price of the dealership estimate. They took the time to call multiple places to locate a part to get me in two days earlier than originally anticipated. As someone who doesn’t know much about cars, I also appreciate their willingness to take the time to answer my questions and explain the work to me in a way that makes me feel confident in what is being done. I would recommend Vermont Tire for all of your tire and mechanical needs - great and small!

These folks just won’t take my money. Because I buy my tires there (awesome, friendly & expert service, bu the way), their warranty covers all kinds of tire-related service: flats, leaks, bad valves. Vermont roads — for me mostly unpaved — are hard on tires. They give straightforward info & advice. And I like their first-come first served program. Really - who can predict tire leaks? If they are super busy, and your car can be driven, they tell you when they won’t be so jammed so you can return later. And their restroom in clean, their coffee is not bad. I recommend them highly.

Originally thinking it was a balance issue, they discovered I had a bad tire after temporarily installing different tires on my car to identify the cause. They never charged me a dime for their labor, and ended up installing two new tires at no charge to me. Our car drives like new again. I can't recommend them enough, and with service like this, I can't imagine buying my tires from anyone else.

I’ve been going to a much larger tire place in cold Hester for years. I was told about Vermont Tire through a friend. From the second I called for a quote to picking up my van after snow tires were out on it was some of the best customer service I’ve ever encountered. Great service, did what other tire shops in the area could not do = take care of us. They got us in fast. Everyone else was either booked up for a day or two, grossly overpriced, or simply did not have the proper facility to do the job.

Fire Water

First one in line is not the first one served. Customer service is not great when they are busy. I came in at around 1p.m. and nobody was in line. Two guys were on the phone and computers. It took one of them 20 minutes to stop receiving calls to do the quick transaction of accepting my car for the next day. I called ahead and was already set with everything in the computer and he took my keys quickly when he eventually got to me. The day the work was supposed to be done as first in line and first out did not happen. I called a few times to check. The first time they blew me off and asked if they called. They said that they would call immediately when they are done. Within the next few times, they checked my order and said that they would have all cars that they accepted done before they closed. Later that night, with hysterical kids I picked up my minivan. It took a while because people were actually there. I overheard someone had to bring there car back because they had to do something with a hub cap. They were busy and I parked my minivan in a parking spot. My car should have been one of the first ones the next day. It was so busy, that they didn’t worry about mine because it was out of the way in a neat parking spot. My work was not done first because it not convenient for them.

I wrongly thought that they had been replaced when I replaced a front caliper this spring and so was a grouchy skeptic until I saw the old parts. The tech was 100% correct in not passing the corroded rotor. (Brakes were still working pretty well). Of course, now the brakes work like new!
