Reviews of Goodwill Store: Westbrook

It's a good spot to get cheap clothes that are daily clean and there prices are great.
However they have added some name brand items that cost way too much so it's not so much Goodwill anymore more like consignment with a attitude.... Way to expensive.

My original impression of this store was "Wow! 5 stars!" And in terms of product quality/cleanliness of store, it remains that way. The staff is unfortunately hit or miss. My last visit was the most pleasant interaction I'd had with an associate; who went above and beyond to assist me. Interactions with staff otherwise have been either non-existent or neutral. Sort of just ...Blah.
What subtracts the second star from this facility, in my opinion, is the outrageouS prices. I mean...okay, we get it. Goodwill is going mainstream. 'Upping their game' so to speak. Expanding their horizons... but geeeez, Westbrook's prices have me wondering how this company is still classified as a nonprofit 😬.

I was impressed with the new Goodwill store that opened up in Westbrook. I went in this past weekend, a few days after their grand opening. I perused the women's clothing aisles and to my delight, much of the clothing still had their store stickers and tags still on them. Name brands too! I noticed a lot of Talbots and J Crew clothing with the tags still on. The wait to try clothes on was a little long, which I anticipated because there are only 3 changing rooms and the store was pretty busy. It'll probably quiet down once the "new store hype" is over. There was also a lot of TJ Maxx beauty products still in the box with the tags still on. However, Goodwill was still asking TJ Maxx prices for most of those products (although I did find some philosophy brand bath products that had never been opened at a very good price!). They also had a good selection of electronics, tons of CD and DVD players.
If you're not sure what the Goodwill discount card is- It works like this: You buy the card for a one time fee of $10 for one year. During that one year you receive 10% off all of your purchases. You also receive 25% off on your birthday. If you shop at Goodwill often, I definitely recommend purchasing a discount card.
They also accept donations at this Goodwill location, although I'll still give all of my donations to the Salvation Army.

Women's shirts are now $6-$10 when prepandemic they were $3-$6, but everything else seems to have stayed the same.

Well organized! The selection is a toss up, like any thrift store, but the clothing section is quite neat

This is not a goodwill I pick first, most of their selection seems to be the same all the time and I always valve to wait forever to check out. But it is a thrift shop so you get what you get.

One of their smaller stores, but as always you can walk away with some great buys.
