First time getting my clothes appraised and I brought clothes I was planning to donate so I didn’t mind what the appraisal was. I brought in 24 clothing items ranging from dresses, shirts, skirts, and shorts. Majority were brand new that I bought in Asia 2019 but never ended up wearing outside because of the pandemic but they only ended up taking 1 of the brand new Princess Polly black long sleeve cinched tops, & it was appraised for $26, so since I wanted cash, I got $6.5 (25% of the appraisal) back but if you want store credit it would be $13 (50% of the appraisal). I also brought in 3 brand heels, they took and appraised one of them which was a Fashion nova stiletto for $26. Lastly, three brand new necklaces that were all appraised. The rest of the items I brought were all returned to me. They mainly take vintage and clothes that are in trend similar to those on Instagram and social media. My friend also brought new Zara heels with tag on that she never wore & retailed for $60 but the appraisal was $26 so she would only get $6.5 back in cash. She ended up keeping them instead of getting them appraised because it just wasn’t worth it. All in all, this is a great place for thrift shopping and recycling vintage clothes but if your items are brand new, I recommend reselling them or returning them because you will not get a big cash back if that is what you intend when stepping foot in here!

Found some really awesome stuff in here! I bought these cool cactus socks (new with tags), a Skins bodysuit (new with tags), and a beautiful dress by urban outfitters (looks new). My friend bought some new looking Nikes and a griffindor jersey for $15 (actually costs $70 at Universal Studios!)

Its ok. What they selling in womens from what I saw was ugly. Some vintage but u can find better off at Savers for that. Not alotta cute unless you a size 00. Menz had better t-shirts NOT a lot of jackets either they had 1 fur 4 ladies?size 2....ugly plastic kiddie purses nothing cute I'd wanna buy. Not a lot of leather-pleather pieces to b found even. Shoes there are some, but ugly printed platforms I saw size 6!? Not sure what they buying but of course picking those peoples stuff #1-5 pieces of #100 things they brought in. Pay 4 park outside door or walk far.

This Buffalo has a pretty eclectic selection of clothing. It's nice that they buy & sell constantly, so turnover is good, but I'm not exactly sure what the theme is. Couldn't find anything quite what I was looking for, but at least they have a lot of stuff.

I can only liken this to the Plato's for true vintage/retro or modern recreations of vintage/retro. Price points were extremely reasonable. Quality of items were reliable unless otherwise noted. Easy to shop and well organized. I was able to get a good many vintage pieces to take back home with me. I would definitely return here.

I had a great experience when I stopped in. I have shopped at the Chicago location for years, but i was so impressed with their clothing assortment. They had great shoes and dresses. I came right after Halloween and I was still impressed with the selection. The staff was incredibly helpful too. I was looking for lingerie and they didn't have anything in stock but made sure to recommend a few places! I'll definitely be back!

I had a great experience, they bought nearly everything I brought to sell. I walked out with a couple hundred bucks. They prefer to buy in season items. If you call them before you go they will give you a list of what they are currently looking for.

Awesome experience..they're short staff so it took about 15 mins for me to get helped.. and the parking down there sucks but the staff is very friendly and upbeat. The entire store has a very chill vibe kinda reminds me of Berkeley CA. By peoples park.

The computer system was down when I arrived for my selling appointment. Although the wait was longer then I would have liked, the customer service and ownership the staff displayed was incredible. The manager and staff were personable, friendly and made sure I was taken care of as soon as possible. Overall I had a great experience and will be back in the future.

Usually I love this store any have found some great outfits here. It is more pricy but to me was worth it for the brands I could find. DO NOT BUY THE NEW WITH TAGS CLOTHING. I was dissatisfied with 3 items that were brand new with tags. My boyfriend and I both did a little shopping spree spending about $150 each. The used clothing is great. I love everything I got that was gently used. Although, I bought a shirt from the brand LELIS and later discovered one sleeve was over an inch shorter than the other. After one wash (no dryer) the whole shirt is weirdly uneven. It was still $18, and they had others just like it. I bought a new pair of jeans $34 from the Denim Forum. After the first wear, I noticed they started splitting. My boyfriend had the exact same issue with his jeans that were NWT. I’m not sure if they are buying new defective clothing or what but don’t trust the clothes that are “NEW.”

It was a smooth experience, and they took more than whst I thought they would. Also, there's a sign out front about masks that says 'strongly encouraged', and there were customers either wearing or not wearing them. It's not that big of an issue.

Lots of cool clothing for the whole family. Shirts, shorts, jeans, jewelry, coats, shoes, belts, sunglasses, jerseys, PJs and athletic attire. Basically everything except formal wear and lingerie. They are picky about what they purchase so don't get your hopes up too much if trying to skip the goodwill dropoff. Definitely worth a look if you're on Main Street.

Went in on a Sunday afternoon to sell some clothing of mine and my boyfriends. We were helped right away and all staff members were very friendly and non-judgmental. They only ended up buying one shirt of mine (my items were too "trendy" or current and not really the retro or vintage look that I know they go for. So, I wasn't surprised when my items weren't picked.) They did however, take plenty of my boyfriends items. Most of which, were articles he has had for years but far too funky for my taste so I had pulled from his closet to sell. Shopped around a little while they went through the items and found a couple rather cute items but I needed the cash so decided to keep that instead. Overall it was a win-win situation for me, my boyfriend and buffalo exchange! Will definitely return here in the future to sell items. My experience was definitely a relief because I had read the reviews prior and was worrisome that I was wasting my time. Edit: took away 1 star because I have gone there 3x since my original review. This time, attempting to sell only items I see on their website or in their catalogs and stores and they didn't buy one thing. So needless to say I am quite disappointed and deterred.

Another customer and I noticed only one register was open on the buy side, and 2-3 registers on the sell side were open and no customers. Our collective recommendation from a customers point of view is to have employees that float to either side. There is a potential of loss of transactions if the line gets long. Personally I would have left if I was by myself.

Staff offered to hold the clothes I was going to buy and then returned them to the rack. One staff was very apologetic but the other acted like it was somehow my fault. The store selection itself was nice. Better clothes and prices than other second hand clothing stores. Not sure if I’ll ever come back though.

Truth Be Told

I have been to the Buffalo Exchange on a few occasions. To both shop and sell. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and I've read the bad reviews of what customers feel about the money they receive in exchange for said items. Reviewers should understand Buffalo Exchange is a brick and mortar business. Which means they have overhead. And is why they are not going to give you the maximum dollar amount you could receive if you sold it yourself. That's why online businesses such as Ebay and Offer Up give us the opportunity as online entrepreneurs to do the same but on a global level. Where I do agree with reviewers is the lack of brand and product knowledge regarding the value of what they do buy and sell. The system of employees rifling through items with no use of technology to me is archaic. How do they actually know what people are looking for? What is trending, selling for online, etc? Now a days people from all walks of life really enjoy if not love thrift shopping. Consumers are smart, most understand brands and the value of that brand. That's part of the allure of finding that clothing gem that Good Will or a store like the Buffalo Exchange missed because of that lack of brand knowledge. Some are looking at your items, purchasing them and flipping them online. It seems to me that the company line employees give of "we're looking for vintage" or 'we're looking for items that sell quickly in our store" is confusing since again the staff uses the eyeball test without technology to determine what that means to the Buffalo Exchange and that there is both vintage and trendy clothing with no rhyme or reason selling throughout the store.

Caitlin was phenomenal. Very customer oriented. My first impression of the stores employees was not as I expected when trying to sell items for cash or trade. Instead of low balling me on the amount they'd buy for, They worked with me to come up with a price I was comfortable selling my clothes for. I would recommend Buffalo Exhange to anyone looking to sell their items for cash.

Beautiful store great selections and new items each week. I have sold some items there they do care about the selection you have and offer the option for store credit or cash but the percentages range. Found and couple of nice items there I liked.

This store has some super cute clothes some were vintage some were from topshop , forever 21 ect. I am very confused though because when I tried to trade name brand vintage mom jeans with them they didnt except, and told me the clothes i brought in were the style they were looking for, but they were unable to take them from me because they were kids sizes. Which didnt make any sense because they were waist sizes 24-28 and I have found jeans there that were smaller than the ones I brought in. Most of the staff is very nice though. I dont really know how theyre going to call themselves a vintage store and not accept trendy vintage clothing. I feel like the people that look through your clothes for trade should keep an open mind and not compare what theyre wearing to the clothes that you brought in because something that they wouldnt personally wear could be super cool to somebody else. This is a super long rant my apologies. In addition to the mom jeans that I brought in I also had some vintage playboy platform sneakers like honestly straight from the 90s and clean, and they were even on the fence about that. The funny thing is that they took them when they were the only thing that was kid sized in the bag and told us the reason they didnt accept anything else was because they dont accept kid sizes. This wasnt supposed to be rude in any way I just wanted to share my personal experiences for further refrence for people who want to trade with them.

I have been here twice. First time to sell clothes with my partner. I was not successful in that aspect but this place is down right amazing. I went there for my second time today. I was hoping some cool Nike boots worth like 120 we're still there. Mind you tons of label stuff would finds. I instead found a pair of Robin's Jean authentic- this make around 700 dollars for the pair -28 bucks. And a pair of purple and orange LeBron's 38 dollars. I spent a total of 60 ... The -1 ☆ is for having to walk all the way back without a bag. The bag thing is for a good cause, but I felt a little low rent on that walk. Cool shirts though.

Their buyers can be pretentious at times when it is obvious they have some trash on the racks that none of their clientele would even consider. For that matter I have seen my fair share of "Savers" or thrift store quality on display - hogging up space that could be filled with MY $200 Hudson jeans that I have enough of to go around and just needed some extra ch-chang for some beer or whatever...

They claim to be on "trends", however do they know their clientele? We are not in LA or Hollywood. We are vegas locals who are looking for clothes. I bring clothes there all the time, and they never take them. This makes me feel like I am not good enough. Maybe put a sign up or make a pamphlet on what current "trends" you are looking for. It would eliminate all the "no"s.
