We did the BBQ Tour last year so this year we returned to do the ice cream tour. Captain Patrick was knowledgeable about the area. He and his son made the trip fun. Worth the money! We had a great time!

We are here on a family vacation and decided to take a boat ride and used OC Bay Hopper, North and we had an amazing time. I have never been on a boat before today. Captian Chris is the best. When people ask what is something to do I am definitely telling them to do this.

We did the Assateague Island tour and it was a lot of fun. Nice little tour of the area and beautiful scenery. Captain Dennis was really nice and knowledgeable. Price seemed very reasonable as well.

My sister and I booked a Shorecraft brewery cruise out of the West location, and it was such a great time. Burley Oak was the featured brewery that night and all of their beers were amazing. Jim from the brewery was a great rep and he shared lots of information about the beers and the brewery. There was a solid variety to chose from! Captain Dave (I think?!) was equally as awesome and showed us some of the fancy fishing boats in town for Marlin Fest, took us near Assateague, and set us up for a beautiful sunset. This "booze cruise" was such a great time and well worth the ticket price. The boat is small, so it was nice to be part of a small group and really be able to chat with one another and the guides.

Excellent! Over a few trips to the area I have done 2 sunset cruises and a fireworks cruise with OC Hopper and Captain Dave. Being out on the bay in a boat is stunning, add in a sunset or fireworks and it is one of the very best experiences you can have in OC! Boat is relatively small and open, comfortable and no crowding so it feels like you are just hanging out with your super friendly and entertaining Captain Dave and a few others as if you are old friends. Cruise length is an hour, just right, and you will learn about the area, the birds you see en route and get great recommendations for other places to eat and things to do. I cannot say enough good things, just go. I can’t wait to take another cruise!

My family’s experience with the OC Bay Hopper was incredible. Being able to be 1 on 1 with the horses at Assateague Island was unreal. As shown in the pictures, I even had the opportunity to pet them. We were also able to spot Dolphins, as well as many birds. Patrick, our captain, did the most amazing job getting us up close and personal with the horses. A 100/10 for the OC Bay Hopper.

Two fantastic experiences this Summer. Both thanks to one great Captain. Our first experience with Captain Shelby was during my birthday / Father's Day weekend and the second was for our daughter's surprise 13th birthday private cruise. Captain Dave was phenomenal. Went out of his way to show our bachelor party crew a great time!!!! I can’t recommend this company and him enough!!! Next time I’m back I’ll def be reaching out again. Really nice and easy ride out to the bay. Got to see the nicest neighborhood in OC and have some delicious ice cream at the same time. Captain Chris was extremely knowledgeable about the local real estate and told some fun stories about the homes we passed. Suzanne was very nice and new a lot about the ice cream we got the try. We’re from Baltimore so it was nice to hear that the Taharka Brothers Icecream was from there.

I wish I could give 10 stars! My husband Matt and I went out today for the Assateague horse boat tour and man oh man we were beyond impressed. We weren’t sure if we were going to go out because of the rain but thankfully it let up and the captain said it was safe to go out. We were so happy it did not get canceled. It was a once in a lifetime experience. Seeing the horses living in their natural habitat was the most beautiful thing we have ever seen. To Captain Patrick, thank you for your kindness. You were beyond everything we hoped for and more. We were the only people on the boat and he treated us like stars. He took time to get to know us, and also give us information on good local spots to check out. He was a wealth of knowledge and took the time to share that with us. He showed us multiple locations, explaining every single bit of it. My husband was in his glory learning all the different boats, docks, houses, islands etc. The captain may have been doing his normal routine but to us it was absolutely everything. As a young married couple, it was really sweet that Captain Patrick even asked about our marriage. When my husband shared with him about his sobriety, the captain asked questions without judgement and was so accepting of my husband. He even thanked my husband for opening up to him. I can’t say enough about this experience besides thank you for leaving us with a once in a lifetime feeling. THANK YOU!

We took the shuttle service down to the boardwalk area and returned back in the evening on the shuttle service as well. Captain Frank and First Mate Aaqil were very courteous and polite. They were knowledgeable of the area and made the trip a great experience. We will definitely use the service again if we ever return.

An adult family of 4 and being native marylanders, we decided to take the Assateague tour to see a different view from the water. I have lived in Md for 58 years, and yet there were things I saw on this tour that I did not know. Captain John knows the area and was just as thrilled as we were to watch the dolphins. I've never been that close to the dolphins and the entire trip was so relaxing. The pontoon had a cover so we were not baking in the sun, water was offered and we could not have felt more safe and enjoyed every minute. I highly recommend this as a "to do" if you are visiting for the first time. Thank you for the recommendation of Shotti's for dinner. The Rhino fries were the best ever!!

Captain Candace was terrific! Went for a sunset cruise, but even though the sun did not cooperate we had a blast. I high recommend this cruise! Next time I am in town I’m trying the Ice Cream Cruise!

The Ice Cream Cruise was a last minute decision that became the highlight of our trip to Ocean City! Our captain Patrick was very knowledgeable and friendly! The boat ride was an hour trip out on the Assawoman Bay and was an incredible experience! Not to mention, the ice cream was super tasty!

We took our grandson on the Bay Hopper Crabbing experience. It was wonderful! Captain Dave was extremely knowledgeable in boating and crabbing. It was very hands on if you wanted it to be, or you could just sit back and observe. Our grandson had a blast netting the crabs and learning about their habits and behavior. We caught a few dozen crabs both on the trot line and in the pots. This was both an entertain and education experience. Crabbing is a very "Maryland" thing to try and not to mention an eastern shore delicacy.

Went on the Assateague Island Boat tour and had the greatest time. They had bottled water for us and were very accommodating. They’re great with kids and made sure everyone was enjoying themselves. We saw some pony’s and they stopped the boat in front of them so we can take pictures. Overall, this is a must do experience if you’re going to ocean city!!

We did the ice cream cruise around the bay. It was wonderful! 5 types of ice cream and the captain and staff couldn’t have been more friendly. They had free water bottles and beer to purchase. The captain let the young kids drive the boat for a few minutes which made them extremely pleased! Each staff member made a point to collect our garbage, hand out napkins, or ask if we needed anything. I am very happy when others treat my child with kindness: we will be returning for more cruises! Thank you!

I only did the oc bay hopper as part of a beer festival, but I will say the operator was amazing and professional. Totally awesome. Highly recommended.

Today we went on a pontoon boat ride with Captain John of OCBayhoppers from 118th Street down along the Bayside of Ocean City to Assateague Island. Our family really enjoyed our trip with Captain John. He was very informative on all of the sights along the way. We saw lots of dolphins, ponies and birds. I highly recommend this excursion, you will love it!

We spent the morning with Captain Dave on the Crabbing Adventure. Captain Dave is simply phenomenal. He is absolutely one of the most positive people that I have ever met. He started the trip learning the names of everyone on board. It immediately personalized the trip and showed us that he truly cared. He reminded everyone that they were there to work and get dirty (if we chose, we could also relax.) He spent the entire cruise enthusiastic and complimenting the tremendous "skill level"of my children that had now became crabbers. He insured that each person was able to participate on the level that they wanted. We each pulled pots, pulled up lines, caught bouys, measured crabs and shook out the pots. My daughter was able to prep the bait by ripping the fish in half. We got dirty, we got involved and we had an absolute blast! Thank you Captain Dave! We will be returning!

Patrick was very kind and excited to show us around the bay. We arrived early so he set up cornhole for my 4 year old to play with! We went onto the boat and he was a very skilled driver and showed us his coast guard approval as a captain. Throughout the trip, he had many facts to tell us and was extremely knowledgeable. We even saved a baby squirrel that was in the bay! Very good experience and I would recommend it to anyone!

We took the Assateague Island tour. We lucked out and were able to see the wild ponies up close. Our guide Patrick, was knowledgeable about the area and shared some great stories. We were able to beach the boat and walk on the island. I would recommend this tour or anything with OC Hopper. They were extremely easy to work with.

We took a sunset tour on 4th July. Shelby was the captain of our boat and she was great! Even though the fireworks were cancelled in OC she took us out and we were able to watch fireworks in adjacent communities from the water. She operated the craft in a professional manner and was a great guide also answering all of the questions the kids had.

I took my two kids 2 & 5 on the icecream cruise with my parents. We absolutely loved it Captain Shelby and Jamar were awesome very knowledgeable and great with the kids!!! The icecream is really good too!!! The ride was smooth except for a few waves which we actually enjoyed the kids loved it! I will absolutely bring my kids back again this time for the pizza cruise 😋

We had a wonderful experience with OC Bay Hopper-everyone from the kids to Grandparents loved the ride. They were amazing to work with when we had to cancel due to lightening in the area. We ended up booking the Maryland Coastal Bay Environment Education Trip which took us to Assateague Island. Needless to say it was one of the highlights of our trip and I would highly recommend to anyone considering booking a ride.

Dave was our captain this afternoon. We commissioned the Bay Hopper to view the OC Air Show. Dave quickly became very familiar with the members of the "Posse" and helped us get to the most advantageous point to see the show. As per our previous excursions with the Bay Hopper this one did not disappoint and all 12 members of our party were over the top satisfied. We look forward to next year!

What a great trip. Patrick was a top notch captain/guide. We learned about the rich history of the area while seeing the beautiful sites. He took us to shore on assateague, where we were able to walk in the sand and see the horses grazing. We were even lucky enough to see a foal lounging in the grass. Patrick was able to convince our 5 year old to smile for our family photo. That’s a feat in and of itself. Cheers buddy🍻👍🏻 He took a photo for everyone, with the horses in the background, and It was great to have that moment captured. We even found a male and female horse shoe crab (wrestling) in the sand. That was our explanation for the little one’s at least… After the “match” was over, or they grew tired and annoyed of the audience, they started going back into the water. He picked one up, turned it over and showed us up close what they looked like, and how creepy they really are in appearance. Like a giant cockroach, but with 10 legs and claws. Then showed us how harmless they actually were, as long as you didn’t step on one. I got a great video of it- The ride back was relaxing, and he explained about the 9 different species of seagulls, and other species of birds in the area, and pointed out their nesting spots. All while giving the younger sailors their chance at steering the boat. All in all, I would highly recommend this adventure for any person, couple or family… They have a style of cruise to fit anyone. It wasn’t very expensive for the time and involvement we received. I will definitely be visiting them again on our future beach trips for the family, and may even try and schedule some of the other cruises, if my wife and I could get some time away. Do yourself a favor. Book a cruise with them, and ask for Patrick. I’m sure the other guides are fantastic, but we really enjoyed his tour. Cheers 🍻🌊🇺🇸 -Derick Hagerstown, MD

I live in Sedona now, so I haven't experienced the company, however, one of my best friends from 40 years ago works there, and he says that it's a well run business. I have been out on Franks boats, and he is a very professional and safe captain. He is also a great fisherman, and he know the spots to get the big fish. You will like him and the other captains. Our trip to Assateague was perfect. Going on the boat with Captain Patrick was like going on the boat with your Dad. He was relaxed, flexible and knowledgeable about many things from a life lived in OC. He pointed out the wildlife on the bay, beached the boat on Assateague, and took us the back way home through the shallow waters at low tide where we saw even more cool birds. He told us a bit about the landmarks and history of OC. He taught us about sportfishing and how to tell who caught a fish that day and where to have burger in west OC to watch the boats coming back in. All in all a great trip!

The 1 hr ice cream cruise was a lot of fun! The skipper boat is small enough that you could possibly have a socially distanced activity from other vacationers depending on how many seats your group buys. The captain was knowledgeable about the area and suggested a cruising path that fit what our group was most interested in. Both the First Mate and Captain were friendly. We would defintely book another small cruise from OC Bay Hopper!

Me and my family really enjoyed the Ice Cream cruise, you got to take a nice little tour on the bay and they gave you samples of ice cream from Taharka Bros. The captain and 1st mate, I believe, were professional and gave us a little history on the area we traveled. Definitely worth the money and will definitely be back again when we vacation.

Nothing beats a private charter from OC Bay Hopper. We had our own personal agenda which was perfectly relaxed and expertly captained by Captain Kevin. We saw ponies, stopped for a tasty adult beverage, enjoyed bay views, it was perfect and I look forward to doing it again.

We had family visit from Indiana and we wanted to do something different. We chose, "The Greene Turtle" excursion and was beyond satisfied. Captain Patrick suggested a ride to Assateague Island, as the ponies had been gathering at the shore in prior days. He was right, we saw a small herd with a foul. He also described the natural and business sites during our 2-hour ride. The food from The Greene Turtle was very tasty (would have liked a full yummy sandwich) and the libations were plenty. Thank you to Shelby Gillis for her knowledge and assistance.

We booked a four hour cruise with a captain for Saturday afternoon. It was my sister’s 40th birthday. We brought drinks, sandwiches and snacks. Everyone agreed that it was them mostly wonderful day ever! Our captain Dennis was so nice, knowledgeable and helpful in every way. We sailed to Assateague and saw ponies. Just amazing. Dennis let us go ashore for a closer look. My young children, ages 5 and 8 were thrilled. We will definitely do this again.

We took the Assateague Island Boat Tour. It was simply amazing! Their boats let you get nice and close to the islands compared to the other companies out there. We saw a ton of horses and even a few dolphins. The owners are amazing and really take their time. They even turned around in order to get a closer look at the dolphins. Highly recommend!

Our Captain Shelby was amazing! Great 2.5 hour cruise form 118th St to the Assateaque bridge and back. We saw some ponies and a an old boat active Opsrey nest had taken over.
