Ruthie did my ashley piercing. she was quick and so professional. everyone here is so nice. i did have to wait a hour to get seen but that’s 100% fine. she gave me a long bar as she’s supposed to so my lip can have room to swell and my healing process went PERFECTLY. i actually changed my jewelry after a week lol. my lip was swollen of course which is normal but i never had any pain. at all. maybe that’s just me though. all my piercings heal fast but anyways.. this place is a 10/10. i’ll be getting my first tat done here soon. also ruthie gave me a piece of paper on everything to do when i got home, like how to clean it & etc. UPDATE: i got my first tattoo done by @chicanatattoos, she’s a girl that works there. took 2 hours to get seen but once again, that’s 100% fine. she was taking walk-ins. after everything, she told me how to take care of it & gave me a piece of paper that showed the entire process off how a tattoo is supposed to heal. i will be going here everytime i want a tattoo or piercing. i will never go anywhere else.

This place is a worth wild tattoo shop if you are ever in the area of Suitland MD. I got a tattoo from here 10 years ago and even my mom got a tattoo from here when I was a teenager. This shows that Red Octopus has been around for generations and I can see why. The customer service is phenomenal as long as the work they do as tattoo artists. They are fair and reasonable with their prices and do not try to overcharge you unlike other places try to do because they get no business. I traveled from Alexandria VA out to Morningside MD (even though there is literally a tattoo shop within walking distance from my house) just to go to Red Octopus because that house amazing this tattoo shop is. They got me in and out in about an hour and it was busy. I will always recommend this place to anyone looking to get a tattoo. The ride is worth it. This place has been around for generations as I said before and it will stay around for generations to come with how amazing they are overall.

I went yesterday to get my first nose piercing. Shop was clean and everyone had on masks. Ruthie was very patient with me and made sure I was happy with the location prior to piercing. Very quick piercing process. Did pinch a little but no excruciating pain. Overall very happy and will be coming back to her to get my jewelry changed once it heals. YOHANA IS THE BEST! She gave me an amazing Mikasa tattoo on the back of my arm from Attack on Titan. It was one of the smoothest and least painful tattoo I’ve ever gotten. She is super considerate while tattooing and always checks in how you’re feeling. Super talented in the tattoos she does and great to talk to while getting tattooed. Total sweetheart. I got a smiley piercing at Red Octopus on Friday (8/21/2020). The shop appeared very clean and organized. There's ample seating in the waiting area. The two women at the front desk were knowledgeable, pleasant, and professional. Ruthie did my piercing. She's was super kind. She answered all of my many questions and explained the process before starting. She even took a look at old piercing I had questions about. I'll definitely return to Red Octopus.

I've been here two times. Once to get a piercing and another time to get one of my older piercings looked at. Both times I received great service. I have never had more than a 10 min wait for both times that I went (and I was a walk in both times). The lady that does the piercings knows what she is doing and explains everything to you; how to clean the piercing,what to do and what not to do during the healing process. I must say, she doesn't lie about whether the piercing will hurt (I've been to a bunch of places for piercings and they always say, "o this won't hurt"... LIES! She even helped me keep one of my favorite piercings that I thought was infected- but it wasn't! With her help I kept my piercings and I would definitely recommend going here (for a piercing)! side note- I know nothing about the tattoo experience

I arrived at 5pm and wasnt seen until 630 which wouldn't have been a problem but the front desk staff were to busy gossiping that they didn't see me place the clip board down or sitting in the waiting area. I decided to approach the front desk when all workers migrated tothe front desk. Once seated again, I heard the receptionist saying she was just sitting there. Um yeah because upon being let into the shop the young lady asked what I was getting. Imo additional training is needed for front desk. Ok now to the tattoo. Lindsey did an amazing job! She was gentle, very knowledgeable and my art work looks really good. If I visit the shop again, Lindsey will be my go to artist !

I researched tattoo shops in Maryland and found Red Octopus on line. I spent quite a while looking at the work of the artists at several locations and finally selected Jared in Morningside. I was initially interested in the 3D butterfly tattoos and he was one of the only artists that featured those in his portfolio. By the time I went in for my appointment, I had selected another tattoo design. When I got there, the folks at the front desk were courteous. Jared greeted me and began working on my design. That took about 20 minutes. He was very patient as I scrolled through the font options. He was pleasant and did an excellent job on my tattoo. The price was very reasonable and I was in and out in about an hour and a half. I will definitely refer others to Jared in the future.

I'm a repeat customer. Over the years I've gotten a tattoo and several piercings there. Always professional. Piercings are average price. Tattoos are pricey but not outrageous. Good tattoos aren't cheap and cheap tattoos aren't good. The price is reasonable for a lifetime decision.

Loved every single one but I unfortunately only had enough money to get a bird off of a bigger painting in the book. Very clean, Very professional, Great Staff. If you go here ask for Jared. Guy is professional and can turn anything into a masterpiece! He has done 3 of my tattoos, a family crest on my back, an American flag on my inner arm, and some lettering on my triceps. People always compliment these works! As long as Jared is there, I'm going to him. I suggest you give him a call and tell him what you want and let him draw it up ahead of time. The prices are pretty good! People complaining about prices on here don't understand that you pay for quality!

This was my first visit and I enjoyed my experience. The Receptionist, Riva, was very nice and extremely patient with me as I explained to her what I wanted. My Tattoo Artist, Avery, was also extremely patient and he took care at every stage of his stencil drawing to ensure this tattoo was going to be exactly as I wanted it. Best of all I did not have to argue with him when I told him what direction on my arm (facing me or not facing me)I wanted this tattoo. Back in April, I had to argue with another tattoo artist at a shop not affiliated with Red Octopus about the tattoo direction and I decided afterwards to never return to that Artist/Tattoo shop again. This tattoo shop is very clean, with great decor, a very comfortable waiting area, a free drinking water cooler, and a great sound system with nice music playing. The Artist workstations are all very well-organized and they have the appropriate privacy partitions and rooms. The outside entryway also includes an Assessible Ramp and there is Reserved Parking for those with the appropriate Disability Parking stickers/tag(s). This shop also has electronic receipts if you want your receipt sent to your e-mail address.
