I can't say enough great things about Cleveland Street Tattoo. Five stars is not enough! I couldn't be happier with my experience from start, to finished tattoo. I was treated with respect, & patience when I stopped in for a consult about a cover-up. My artist, Joe, took my simple idea, & turned it into an amazing custom design that FAR exceeded all my expectations. He's incredibly talented, & I highly recommend him, and Cleveland Street! This shop is without a doubt the best I've ever been to in every way. I absolutely LOVE my tattoo, & look forward to seeing Joe again for more.

My last visit over at CST was like the previous two times, exceptional! Not only are the staff friendly, they are professional in their duties! The establishment is kept in order, and is clean! And to top it all off, the artists are top notch! I appreciate the fact that when one artist isn’t busy, they walk around to see what the other artists are working on, and they bounce ideas off each other and ask opinions of each other. Makes for a very comfortable environment if you’ve never been, or had a tattoo done before! I would recommend this shop to everyone if they are in search of a quality shop, with quality artists! Went to get a tattoo today from Taryn! Was super kind, super gentle, and routinely made sure I was still okay. If I needed a break she was totally cool with it. Many of the other artists were super friendly as she did the tattoo. It's a super open space which makes it more comfortable, she cleaned regularly to make sure everything was up to par, and she did an amazing job on my yggdrasil! I plan to go back and get a full sleeve because this is one of the best places I've ever been! Great people and a great atmosphere all around.

As the proud owner of almost 30 tattoos I’ve had my fair share of good and bad tattoo shops. Cleveland st is BY FAR the best in VA beach if not the best I’ve gotten work at. Glo kills it every single time! The other staff is more than accommodating and nice. Super cool atmosphere before and after their new renovations. I never doubt their cleanliness or skills. I had my first session on getting my sleeves finished by a new artist to me. His name is Robbie. He made everything super simple and definitely match the style of my previous work. The shop was very, very clean and they took extra precautions during this crazy time. I can’t wait to go back and get the rest of my work finished. Really awesome experience here. Got a tattoo from one of their apprentice artists and am super excited with the entire thing! Shop is kind of off the beaten path if you will. I have probably driven by here before and never noticed it. Not much to look at from the outside BUT inside it spacious, clean, bright and BIG! Checked in with the front desk and everything is electronic! Pretty cool! They texted me a link for the standard tattoo waiver form. Filled it out and signed it right on my phone. Pretty legit. Taryn (@taryntolkientattoos on IG) was my artist. We had communicated via DMs on Instagram to work on a design. She showed me what she came up with off my idea and it was WAAY better than what I had thought up! That's why I go to the pros so they can take my idea and turn it into art on my body. I was not disappointed in her work. I met and talked to some of the other artists as well. Solid vibe from everyone in the shop. Really good place! Professional, clean welcoming. I'll be back for more! From the receptionist to the brand new apprentice, Ian, everyone was super professional and awesomeness! Thanks for the epic job Cleveland Street! Update- 21 February 2022- Got a tattoo from Ian. Excellent experience. The other artists took time to come over and give him pointers and make sure he was doing everything correctly. He did awesome job and the entire experience was awesome again! Highly recommend this place wether you're in here helping out an apprentice by letting Ian do some ink on you or getting an appointment after waiting for a month or so from one of the bosses...this place is legit! Update 6 May 2022 Last week got another from Taryn who is now a fully trained/certified tattoo artist. This week another from Ian.

I had a very complicated idea in my head for my tattoo, so I set the appointment in advance and paid a small deposit to secure my artist of choice. I did my research first from photographs online and in the books at the tattoo shop. I sent three photographs of things that were similar to what I wanted and asked for a very detailed drawing to be done. When I arrived for my appointment I anticipated that I would have to wait for him to draw my tattoo. But my artist Brian had already prepared for my arrival with a drawing already done and was waiting for my approval and any additional tweaking that I wanted to do. He fit the stencil to my arm perfectly & made a few slight changes to the drawing and we were ready to go. The whole process was by far my best experience at any tattoo shop, and I have been to several. He took an idea that was in my head and made a very beautiful piece of art that will be with me forever. His line work shows attention to detail & when I was unsure of a color pallet, he vocalized more than one option, & he was patient with me through the whole process. I have had other work done at Cleveland street by Pete and I get stopped by strangers almost every day and complimented on my tattoos. This is why I went back to Cleveland street for more work. My recommendation is that if you go to Cleveland Street tattoos: 1. Take your time picking your artist. They are all very talented. 2. Check out their previous work online and in books at the shop 3. Make an appointment 4. Remember you get what you pay for I wanted a beautiful tattoo & I got a show-stopping piece of art that will be with me forever.

The staff was fun and professional. The studio is very clean. Glo did a wonderful job communicating with me and working with my vision. Although they were all very VERY good, his style was more along the lines of what I was wanting. We met and discussed, and when I came back for the appointment, the sketch was perfect. He quoted two hours, and was right on the nose with how long it took, no rush. I am so happy to finally have a piece of art on my body instead of what was there before. Go see Pete!!

I have a difficult time conveying what I want in a tattoo, but I walked in and looked through several portfolios and talked to an artist. He sketched something up for me to look at... I hated it, but we talked it over and Tony was very patient while we worked to get exactly what I wanted. He sketched it up, we sized the drawing and I went home with an appointment to get my new tattoo. The whole process was very good. I saw the needles come out of the package and the ink go into fresh and sterile holders. All the equipment that was reusable (the chair, the cord to the gun, the counter/trey supplies we're resting on) was wrapped in fresh plastic wrap. Anytime he had to touch my skin, Tony put on a fresh set of gloves. My tattoo is exactly what I wanted and I would/will go back next time I'm inspired.

My first couple of tattoos was done by Robbie very excellent work couldn’t be happier. I just got done with my first session from Joe who is doing a waterfall on me I’m super excited to see the outcome!
