I go to Almost Famous for all my piercings, it's the only shop I feel safe/ clean to pierce my body. I got my septum, bridge, and nipples done here and bring my friends as well. Most of the costs cover the initial jewelry as well, no separate fee. $45-65 is super cheap for a clean, healed, straight piercing. They're quick, but usually first come first serve or appointment. All their piercers are quick and professional in a kickbutt way!

I've gotten two pieces here and have absolutely loved my experience each time. Everyone in the shop is very nice and makes you feel comfortable; great atmosphere! Charlie has done both of my pieces and I couldn't be happier with them. His line work is spectacular and his colors really pop! He's also very attentive to the comfort of the client, which is very reassuring. I get compliments on my tattoos all the time. I would highly recommend Charlie or anyone else at Almost Famous! Great experience taking my daughter here to get her ears pierced. Missy really took her time with her and made sure that she was comfortable, and was so patient and explained everything... I was really impressed. I've been telling everyone since - "don't take your kids to the mall to get their ears pierced. Go to Almost Famous. My sister and I went there yesterday, I got the other side of my nostril done and my sister got her septum. Their shop has a capacity limit so we had to wait outside but weren't waiting very long. The guy that did our intake, I think his name was James, was very nice. We both got pierced by Missy, and I swear I wish I could just take her home with meeeeee. She made us both feel so comfortable, made us laugh, and did an AMAZING job with both of our piercings. I already have a few and still she was very thorough with educating me and giving me after care instructions. We are from North Conway, NH and we went to that shop specifically because of the online reviews about Missy. She definitely did not disappoint. Missy was great with my daughters (8 and 13) when they got their ears pierced. She had a calming demeanor and did a great job explaining the process to them. She took her time, going slowly to reassure them, and they never felt rushed or pushed. Highly, highly recommend, especially since my older daughter's piercings from Claire's never healed properly and got infected - I'm so glad I opted to have their ears pierced by a professional this time.

I have had 3 tattoos done by Roman and I have another scheduled soon. I have visited a couple different artists for tattoos and not one of them has been comparable to Roman. He is funny, a great conversationalist, a great artist, and made me feel super comfortable from the start. He keeps his area clean and is very thorough in his aftercare directions. I HIGHLY recommend coming to him for tattoos. I’ve also been pierced many times at almost famous and they have done an amazing job I always walk out of that place excited!

“Almost famous” is a find! I’ve wanted a helix piercing for a while and, one day last last week, I decided it was time to get it. I’m new to Portland so I relied on information from the internet to select a spot. “Almost Famous” got so many top reviews that they seemed too good to be true. But they are. It is not fancy by any means but very clean. Everything seems neat and organized. Any comments concerning piercing cited Missy’s warmth (particularly with children) and easygoing competence. And that’s what I found. Not only is Missy pleasant to be around, she is also clearly very good at what she does. I highly recommend this place!

First off, the shop itself is a vibe. It's clean, the staff is friendly, there's artwork everywhere, and it's well setup. The shop is great. I've been seeing Roman since they had their Ogunquit shop, and he's put 10 separate pieces of amazing artwork into my skin. I've heard amazing things about the other artists there, but I personally have only been tatted by Roman so this review is solely for his work. 10/10 on everything he does. I've sent buddies there to get new work done and everything he does looks absolutely amazing. I've had both my ears tatted by Roman and the entire top of my hand and I wouldn't have let anyone else do it. If you're looking for an experienced artist with high attention to detail, go to Almost Famous and see my boy Roman.

She even put a new placeholder earring in for free. They're limiting the number people in the shop due to covid so I also felt super safe. Thanks, Almost Famous!

In 2019 I got my nose pierced at a DIFFERENT place and right after I got it I started gushing blood and it was bleeding for days! At the appointment they told me to spin it twice a day and use sea salt and a cotton swabs to clean it and I could chang it out in 3 weeks. It caused me like 80 dollars and I got this really bad bump and it got supper infected so I had to take it out. Fast forward to 2021 and i really missed it and wanted to get it done again SO my friend and I decided to get ome done together. We did some research and found this piercing/tattoo shop in Portland (it's an hour away from me.) When I walked in it was supper clean Missy the piercer was supper nice and professional. She opened everything up in front of me and told me what she was doing and explaining why she was doing it. When I told her about my experience the last time I got it done she explained to me what they did incorrectly and told me how to properly take care of it. It never started bleeding, today is the first full day of me having it and it doesn't even hurt! When before I was in alot of pain for DAYS! I cant stress enough how great of an experience missy made it for me. So thank you so much!

Was looking to get a cartilage piercing done and someone recommended Almost Famous. From the moment we walked in throughout the entire process, Missy was awesome, professional, clean, and listens to every need and want of the customer. I was really nervous about how much it was going to hurt, but she was really reassuring and worked skillfully so that the piercing is as least painful as possible. I would highly recommend her for anyone looking to get a piercing!

Missy did an AMAZING job fixing my very blown out 8g gauged ears I got the previous day from a different place. She gave me the size gauge I actually wanted and was super friendly and helpful. She made sure I was comfortable and gave me the actual size (14g) that I wanted. Definitely will come back in the future!

I was very nervous to get my nose pierced but Missy was so funny and friendly and calming to be around that by the time it was time for the actual piercing I felt totally comfortable! She redrew the dot a couple of times based off of what I said I wanted to make sure I would be 100% happy with the results. My daughter found out about Almost Famous online. We went over in the midafternoon on Saturday and stood in line for piercings. We were fist in line and got in after about 15 or 20 minutes. The piercer was Melissa. She did a great job and was extremely professional. I’m a nurse, familiar with clean and sterile procedure, and didn’t observe her break her hygiene practices at all. She took her time and got to marks for the holes lined up perfectly. She considered things like what type of earnings my daughter normally wears and if she plans to add more holes later. I tend to be very picky and I was very happy with the result at Almost Famous. You will pay more there than at the mall of course but you’re getting what you pay for. It’s worth paying the right price when you’re putting permanent holes in your body.

I really enjoyed my experience getting pierced there! The person who did it (I think the name was Joe) was really patient with me (I was a little nervous) and very supportive. I felt very safe and comfortable here! I assumed that because the cost is so affordable, I'd have to forfeit quality, but was pleasantly surprised to find that was not the case! The only downside is the location, which feels kind of out of the way for someone who spends a lot of time in the downtown area , but once I got it, got it done, and got out, that really didn't matter. I would definitely recommend Almost Famous!

Only exception was that we called about some body jewelry the guy who answered said they had it we drove 2 hours waited in line for another hour just to be told they dont have those items by the girl inside. All he had to do was actually check not just assume that because they do carry it that they had some in stock at that time.
