I booked my appointment with Electric Ladyland last month. I’m visiting from out of town so the communication was mainly through email, they were so quick responding. Rev. Marc completed my tattoo yesterday and it was exactly what I wanted. They took the ideas I sent and made it into what I pictured. I love it so much. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Rev.Marc was the best and was quick and made the process as painless as possible. I highly recommend coming to them if you’re traveling to get a tattoo or if you’re local and want one. Also definitely book with Rev.Marc if you want a specific artist

We travelled in from Canada and called 1 week ahead to see if we should walk in or book an appointment. They were very flexible and got us an appointment. There were 2 of us, so we had separate artists booked. Unfortunately my artist had car troubles and couldn't make it to the shop, but Chris, who did my fiancee's tattoo was accommodating and did mine right after. He was really comfortable to work with and the tattoos turned out amazing! We would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking out a tattoo.

Devin did my tattoo for me, and it turned out perfect! She was sweet and made me feel so comfortable. Prices were higher than expected also. Being in a tourist area, I get it. The front desk was less than friendly or polite. They acted irritated we were even there. Not a good first impression.

We came down to NOLA for my wife’s birthday and decided to get new tats. They were very open to walk-ins and could have done them then but we decided to come back on Tuesday. We had Devin and Chris, they were both AMAZING! Devin did mine, simple Norse rune piece, Chris did an absolutely amazing owls head for my wife. The eyes look very realistic and the overall piece is exactly what she wanted. The prices were great and seemed right in line with what we were expecting, hers was actually less than we thought it would be. The whole shop was very nice, very personable, we may go back for more since we are only 3 hrs away. Gotta say the two girls we talked to working the front area were very friendly and really made us feel welcomed to the shop. We’ve read the reviews (the good and the bad) and feel like some of the negative reviews are unwarranted. We both have about 20 tats from all different shops/artists both here and abroad. We’ve dealt with bad shops, bad artists, and bad people behind the needle. This shop ranks up in our top 3 best shops ever. Maybe because we are experienced and we’ve learned the questions you need to ask, maybe we just pay close enough attention to what the artist is doing, or maybe we just know exactly what we want when we walk in. Whatever it is we walked out of Electric Lady more than happy and if possible we will come back for more ink!!!

On my recent vacation I wanted to get a tattoo to commemorate my trip and my love for one of my favorite cities. I called to ask if they take walk-ins for flash tattoos and was informed they are first come/first serve. I got there mid-afternoon and had about an hour wait (which to me is very reasonable for a walk-in). My artist was Joel, and he customized my design to fit the area of my body I wanted it on best and ensured that we had great placement. Joel was great to work with and I love the finished product! Would highly recommend for those wanting a quick, professional tattoo experience!

Loved the staff. Was surprised to be able to get in with little notice AND to be impressed with their work. Was a little pricey for what we got compared to our local prices with reputable artists. But I expect that had a lot to do with the touristy location. The place was clean, and the artists were kind and talented.

The shop was incredibly clean and they were well staffed to be able to accommodate walk ins very efficiently. I worked with Chris who patiently worked on the design until it was perfect. My son and I were in New Orleans and wanted to get matching tattoos...after searching for the best tattoo shops, we both came up with the same conclusion...ELECTRIC LADYLAND tattoo. I went in and had a piercing done on the side of my nose....the way the gal took the time to discuss everything with me was so impressive. Helen at the front desk was so welcoming, in fact, everyone we came in contact with was absolutely phenomenal! Never have I been so informed and treated with such kindness and respect. Looked at the work of all the fabulous artists there, couldnt go wrong with any of them. My sons tattoo came out fabulous, mine was good but had a little issue with it as my skin isnt what it use to be....anyways I sent some photos and explained to the owner that although good, I was a little disappointed.....The owner took time out of his busy schedule to call me back, and I will say this....NEVER have I dealt with such a kind, caring considerate business owner! NOT ONCE did he make excuses, he took full responsibility and worked with me to find a conclusion. I AM SO IMPRESSED with this place and the entire group of people that work there! If you are searching for not a good but FABULOUS tattoo shop.....GO there...things happen in life, and whats important is how if theres a problem it gets handled.... Erica at Electric Ladyland is the absolute besssst! I followed her from her shop in NYC and now travel allll the way down to New Orleans from Delaware for her incredible work. I’m constantly getting compliments on her color and linework, and folks are always sad when I tell them she’s in NOLA. She works quickly, but her art never suffers for it. Nothing but great things to say about this place. I researched and read many reviews about different shops on both the East and West Bank and kept coming back to Electric Ladyland. I didn’t know exactly how I wanted my final tattoo to look. I wanted to work with an excellent artist that could help bring my ideas into a cohesive design. I chose Chris and could not be any happier. When I walked in the shop for my consultation, I was immediately impressed with how clean it was. Upon meeting Chris, I knew I was in good hands. Chris was extremely professional, clean, welcoming, and kind from the consultation to the final cleanup. I had only given him a few vague ideas about how I wanted my tattoo to look: a steel magnolia with a steam punk influence that has rivets so you know it’s made of steel, and a green dragonfly. The moment he showed me his sketch I was blown away by how great it looked. The finished product turned out even better than I could have imagined. Chris is extremely talented and I would recommend him to anyone. In short, nothing but a five star experience with Electric Ladyland and with Chris. If you want a great experience, this is the place to go!

This is the only place I trust for tattoos in New Orleans. Purely professional - - they take a lot of time up front to be sure they're giving you exactly what you want; the facilities are neat; the guidance for care of your new tattoo is medically appropriate; if you're trying to make a big mistake, they will let you know. Yesterday I visited Electric Ladyland for the second time. My artist was Sam Dishongh and I highly recommend him. His art is beautiful. He is kind, quick and fun. Love, love, love Electric Ladyland!

A group of friends and I came here as walk-in for small tattoos we've been wanting for a while. This was my first. The tattoos were all well-done. Very professional. I'm allergic to latex, and they had nitrile gloves, which was wonderful. We weren't sure about the clear protective film, so we bandaged it (my tattoo was VERY small, like- a couple millimeters). I loved that the artist was considerate of the allergy. I hope they figure out whether or not the film has latex. If you are allergic, perhaps call ahead of time, regardless of where you go.

As a group of six people visiting the area, each of us got tattoos and not a single one of us was disappointed. I have a couple of other tattoos, and honestly the one I got here is one of the most well done ones that I have. Josh did half of the tattoos in our group, including mine, and I was blown away by his work. I'm happy we decided to go with this place, we're all very impressed with the shop as a whole, the staff, the guys that did our tattoos. The gray and white picture is what I asked for with the red star and the word added, and the color is what I got. I asked to see albums when I came in because I am putting something permanent on my body (I have several tats) and after seeing my piece the desk clerk kind of blew me off because it was "easy". But as you can see he didnt really take his time to make sure the lines are clean on the star shapes or that the spacing was good, just kind of sped through. Its an okay tat but definitely could have been better. I didnt try to low ball them either. So make sure you ask for books. Especially at a shop in the main area of a downtown where they get tourists constantly and because of that tend to take things less seriously...

I went to get a Helix piercing, I was a bit scared I'd admit. BUT.... I had Jared as my piercing consultant, he walked me through the procedure, sterilization and during the process. It was super quick and painless. I asked him a million questions, in which he answered professionally, patiently , and with in-depth knowledge. I was totally comfortable after receiving the information. Prices were exactly as quoted over the phone as well, a definite plus. I hate when prices change when you show up to a place.

Came in as a walk-in to get a tattoo to mark my 50th bday. Looked through some New Orleans flash and picked out a little voodoo doll, and had them ad "New Orleans- 2-23-18". First, if you are wanting to get sloppy drunk, stumble into a tattoo shop and wake up surprised the next morning...do not go here. Professional shop, professional staff and professional artists. I mean everyone was excellent! I was only in NOLA for a couple days and they were able to get me an appointment, work up a custom piece and get the ink done in 24 hours from the first time I walked in. Tattoo took about 3 ish hours including the set up time. Very impressed with the entire experience. I would fit sure go back for another one. Now don't expect to pay $5 for a good tattoo either. Look around. Anyone who has experience is going to charge at least $100 per hour of work and they have to work to draw your design so keep that in mind when you think of the cost This place does have a cool deal if you're just looking for something quick. $100 roll the dice and get the corresponding number out of the special roll the dice book. Marc did a set of vampire teeth for me while one of the other artists did a set on my friend. We were in nola for 3 days and didn't plan ahead. We called and got set up but they had no appointments available. But they said they had some walk ins the next morning if we could get there early. We showed up and waited around a bit joking with Sam at the front desk. 10/10 customer service. I'll update this as my tattoo heals but I am super pleased with the work and recommend Marc and electric lady to everyone looking for work done in nola. Great shop, great artists. Awesome artists, amazing tattoos, and it won't break the bank! I got tattooed by Chris and my husband got tattooed by Dan, we got them as a permanent souvenir from our New Orleans Honeymoon! Had an excellent experience earlier this week. I'd done a lot of research looking for an artist that fit the style I wanted and found her here. Unfortunately she was getting ready to move so I quickly contacted her to set up an appointment. I'm so glad I got in! She drew an incredible mermaid shell with jewels and dangles. Just beautiful. Great place..the price was standard (that's what most the bad reviews we about) but people should know that good tattoos are not cheap and cheap tattoos are not good. This is a permanent piece of art on your body. Anyways, The front desk lady was very friendly and welcoming and she was attentive to my ideas and I got a consult right away. Bobby listened to my ideas and came up with a drawing that surpassed my expectations. His work with colour and shading is excellent. Healed perfectly with no gaps. Would definately recommend!

I visited New Orleans on vacation in July and went to Brianna for my first ever tattoo. It was an amazing experience! Brianna was such a sweet person. She kept everything clean and changed her gloves frequently. She was very gentle and the tattoo healed nicely. I love it so much! I’m wanting to extend the piece she did now, but I’m having trouble finding someone local that’ll bring it to life the way she did. Marcus started with me and I explained the importance of keeping the artwork like it was made for me. He did an AWESOME JOB. Awesome. We were in town and wanted to get a group tattoo to commemorate our friendship. It was hard to actually get us all together in the same place since we're scattered across the country. I've done some research prior and found this place. I wanted a place where I knew it was safe and I could go back home to donate blood without issues. At first, they were busy and did not know if they could get to us. Fortunately, after some inquiry-- we found out that we could make an appointment with a deposit. There was a room for all 3 of us since it's a simple tattoo. We went exploring around the area (there's so many great things around) and came back for our appointments. They were able to quickly get us ink'd. They were very nice and gave us the follow up care instructions. We were happy to have this bonding experience.

These wonderful people are dedicated to their craft and getting it right. If you want a particular design, they will go out of their way to make sure you get the permanent tattoo that you want forever on your person. I drove from 4 hours away and went with an out of the way design, and their artist put in the work before hand to make sure his quality inking was perfect when done. Not to mention the soundtrack was all Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin, etc... Comfortable atmosphere. Soothing music. Personable people. We were walk-ins and everyone there was friendly. The place was clean, comfortable, and plenty of reference books to see their styles. Definitely more of a traditional American style vibe but looks like they have different artists w/ various specialty. And our tattoo artist triple checked that our tattoo was spelt to our liking and the sizing was to our liking. Only reason no 5 stars was they were out of merch to perfectly commemorate the tattoo trip for our needle phobic friend who tagged along.

Writing this review 7 years after I was there to get the skull tatty on my thigh. I have 30+ tattoos and this one is by far the best quality. The ink has stayed fresh and the line work is amazing. I’ll be heading back there next month to get my next one. If you’re in NOLA, this is the place to be.

Had a great experience at this shop compared to the another shop I stopped in. People actually wanted to sale quality tattoos here and "not just whip something up" as I was told in the other shop. I selected what I wanted from their giant selection of choices! Left the coloration up to the artist -Marc. He did a great job of matching colors with the current tatts I already have. The colors are almost mystical! Shop was clean and orderly. Marc was patient and not rushed. Made nice lines and very nice shading - an important thing in a good quality tattoo!!!! A week ago, I went to this place as a walk-in for a small ink job based on the reviews, and was not disappointed. Spoke with 2 people in the front desk, both very cordial, and ended with Dan Obolewicz as my artist. He took the photo of the design I wanted (2 musical keys together) and carefully scaled it to my liking, each time with a lot of detail not to alter the design. My tatoo sits just below the wrist on the outer edge of my left arm. He took the time needed rather than trying to rush through, which made all the difference. The process was totally painless, and is healing beautifully as expected and with no complications. I'll definitively come back for more when back in the area, and will surely ask for Dan. Highly recommended!

I had a walk-in session with Twiggy in November of 2018 while visiting Nola for the weekend with a friend. On a whim, we decided to visit Electric Ladyland and get tattoos to commemorate our trip together. I showed the front desk clerk the tattoo I wanted, a large moth, and he immediately recommended Twiggy. Quickly after, Twiggy prepared a sketch for a beautiful moth, and 3.5 hours later he finished what is now my favorite tattoo. Twiggy was kind, thoughtful during the whole process, making me comfortable and asking constantly if I was OK or if he could do anything for me. Girl up front gave me a book with New Orleans related flash, I saw one that stuck out, artist Scott promptly took me back and I was out of there within an hour with a great little piece I love. I have quite a few tattoos already and wanted to commemorate this trip. Shocked about those one star reviews saying staff was rude and place was over priced. Not my experience at all. Tattoo shops can be intimidating places, especially if you come in unsure of yourself. But I feel like I received nothing but warmth even being an obvious tourist. I recently worked with Henry Thomas to design a decent sized tattoo, my fourth. He listened to what I wanted, incorporated my suggestions and designs and offered some really good advice. The tattoo turned out great and is healing nicely. He spent about an hour on the design, including two consultations and two drawings and two and a half hours on the tattoo itself. Henry has a light hand, is a great artist and a nice guy. I am picky and highly recommend him and Electric Ladyland. Cost was $300.

My boyfriend and I were visiting NOLA for the first time and had thought about getting something done but weren’t 100% sure what we wanted. We both have quite a few tattoos (he has full sleeves and most of his upper body done), so we know what we want in a shop and artist. We wandered in a few different shops while we were there but none of them felt right. We ended up wandering into Electric Landyland, after being told by a couple locals that this was the best shop in town, and instantly liked the vibe and welcoming. All the artists we talked to were extremely inviting, knowledgeable and amazing artists! We spent a solild 30 mins browsing through all the portfolios and after mentioning one artist I really liked, but not positive still what I wanted, we were told to just talk to the artist, and then introduced to Twiggy. Straight off the bat we were greeted with a huge smile and such positive energy, he was so understanding and worked with me in picking and image, talking through styles and coming up with a great design - which he then made even more incredible in his fine detailing and obvious love for what he does!! We ended up spending about 2 hours in the shop (as he had another client scheduled before us) and ended up grabbing tacos with him before he started on us. The entire experience was just amazing and the shop is one of - if not the - best either of us have ever been in. We both HIGHLY recommend Twiggy as an artist and Electric Ladyland as the shop to go to!! We’ll definitely be traveling back!

My tattoo artist was Twiggy. He's new to the shop, but not new to being a tattoo artist. The owner of the shop recruited him to the shop, and it's clear to see why: he was incredibly professional (asking ME for time to get himself ready, as if I was his boss - a sign of respect for his customers), he gave sound advice in terms of placement of my tattoo, and took a vested interest in my own design to make sure it came out looking the best it could on my arm in tattoo form. He was quick yet precise, not heavy handed, and checked in with me to ensure comfort. 10/10 would seek him out specifically. Additionally, with the volume of people who came into the shop with inquiries, I was shocked at how patient and professional the entire staff was, even when there was a line 15 people deep. Great piercing experience with Anna! Just stopped in tonight to get an industrial ear piercing. She gave me great advice on which ear to choose, and placement of the piercing. I'm a tiny bit bummed that the bottom of my fleur-de-lis is uneven between the right and left leaves and a little bumpy on the bottom middle leaf. I would have given it a 5 star if it wasn't for those errors. This is my first tattoo so I'm a little bummed, but they're small mistakes that can hopefully be fixed up?

Reime was my tattoo artist and I could not be happier! First - the research she did was amazing. We had booked appointments in advance and all I had sent was a picture of the Ultimate Warrior mask that I wanted on me. When I got to the shop I discovered that Reime had actually looked up and printed out pictures of the Ultimate Warrior to really understand the tattoo, and the usage and context of the mask. She took her time to go over it all with me, provide her opinion on it and took the time to determine the best spot for the tattoo. Even if it meant simply moving it up 2mm she was doing that until she felt she had the placement perfect - it showed how much she cared about doing it right. The tattoo was a breeze. The time flew by and Reime was very light handed. She was extremely pleasant to chat to through the tattoo and just overall a great person. She's the kind of tattoo artist you would actually seek out to do work for you, and I'll be looking to book additional work with Reime the next time I'm in New Orleans! Thank you so much Reime! Also just a quick note that all the staff seemed very friendly and professional and it was a great experience!

My girlfriend and I spent a week in New Orleans in May, and I (we) fell in love with the place. We decided that we wanted to each get a simple tattoo as a sort of "passport stamp" to mark our time there. Ultimately, she made the decision to have them them done at Electric Ladyland, and I'm thrilled that she did. My tattoo choice was a small fleur-de-lis with the French spelling of New Orleans (La Nouvelle-Orléans) arched above it. I had the pleasure of being tattooed by Ed, who did a great job; I 100% recommend him. Despite the tattoo being relatively straightforward and basic, he exceeded my expectations. The lines are all very crisp and the script that Ed used on the lettering is beautiful.

The guy working the front was lovely, unfortunately I didn't get his name, but we had Ritchi Rooster as our artist and we couldn't be happier with our tattoos. Ritchi was patient and professional, he said that he had been tattooing for 28 years which gave us a lot of confidence in his work, especially for my boyfriend who was getting his first tattoo (I was getting my 10th). And once he was finished we were absolutely thrilled. Definitely go see Ritchi Rooster if you want some good ink in NoLa!
