Loved this place! We were greeted warmly and the people were very friendly! The guest artist, Shane, was amazing! We were in town for my daughter's 18th birthday and needed 3 small finger tattoos. He is a talented tattoo artist, as well as, charming, and a decent singing voice too! He is truly our favorite person in NOLA! My daughter also had 2 piercings done by Kate. She was thorough and patiently answered all of my daughter's questions. She was great. Thank you for memories of NOLA that we will always have!

I live in Canada and called the tattoo shop to pre-book for when I were to come down for Mardi Gras!I worked with Kyle and he drew up my tattoo better then I could have expected and ready for my arrival. His work is phenomenal, very friendly and made very comfortable. It was so good that two more of my friends came in for tattoos. Also had the pleasure of meeting Miss Jackie a.k.a the legend. The whole staff made me feel very welcome, they knew what they were talking about and their work speaks for themselves. It’s the oldest tattoo shop in the city! I can't say enough about how awesome this place was. I, my daughter, and my husband all got tattoos, and my daughter also got a piercing. Erica Wedge took care of the tats and they are beautiful! Clean lines, perfect shading, and she was super professional and made it a great experience for all three of us. Colin took care of my daughter's piercing and she absolutely loves it! The energy was great, very professional, but still laidback. 10 out of 10, would absolutely recommend Aart Accent to anyone going to NOLA and wanting a tattoo or a piercing.

They were nice. But a little disappointed that they were booked up even though the website said they accepted walk ins. And to a extent the did. But for piercings. My advice (for anywhere in New Orleans) call ahead and set up an appointment. Even if you’re only inquiring. The person I was with got a nose piercing and she loves it. She got the second side done and said they were fantastic.

My wife and I flew from Los Angeles specifically to get a tattoo by Ms. Jacci. We’ve been wanting to do this for years but the pandemic made it difficult. Seeing her was well worth the wait, and we felt so honored that she took on our piece. Our work was Hebrew and she nailed it! Plus, she’s hilarious. I had a guy that did my industrial piercing in October. I caught his name but I can’t remember it. He was AMAZING, absolute sweetheart. The industrial was a pretty painful piercing for me and he made it 100% comfortable and easy for me. I remember he was wearing green cheetah print pants, really cool hair and piercings. I was with my brother and dad(getting a piercing behind my moms back, not the best idea, but she never commented on it) He gave me a pink slip with tips on cleaning and contact info in case anything goes wrong. I want to go back here for my tragus and daith for my birthday and get it on the same side I got my Industrial piercing and would love for him to do it for me if he still works here!!!

My friend and I got pierced by Collin last night and we’re both so happy with what we got. He was so cool and fun to talk to, he cleaned us up good and gave us some sick jewelry, he definitely made the experience more memorable and for that I’m a lot happier with my piercing than I would be otherwise. I walked in off the street after having looked at some of the reviews. When I went in I was able to get right in and was also told about the history of the shop! The first Black Female owned parlor in New Orleans for 43 years! My artist, Chopper Pete (@chopperpetetattoo), was great! He is very well versed in tattooing darker skin with color and understands what colors work best! Prices were very reasonable and truth be told, if you are paying for a $40 tattoo you are going to get blow outs and jacked up line work! Prices for tattoos start at $80. Chopper hooks you up with your after care and will assist with any issues you have after the job is done! Go check it out!!

Absolutely loved my experience here. My tattooist (Amber Hall) was wonderful and extremely talented and friendly even close to closing time, AND was willing to come in on her day off if I needed her to. Even though it was my first tattoo she didn't rush me at all and worked with me until I got exactly what I wanted. Everybody there was friendly and made you feel right at home. If you're thinking about getting one here - DO IT; you won't regret it. And ask for Amber Hall - SHE'S GREAT!!! (Update: A few more months will be a year. Still very pleased. Thanks Amber! Plan on going back for another! )

I walked in just to get an idea of how much two tats that I really wanted would cost, and Chopper Pete gave me an excellent deal! He even tweaked my designs a bit and made them so much better. He kept me informed throughout the process, and I was out and sporting gorgeous fresk ink in a little over an hour. I'll definitely be back when I'm ready for my next tats. I got a watercolor cypress tree that my artist, Cueves, free hand drew on my arm. I called to get an appointment for the following week and they got me in the same day, which was awesome! I really enjoyed meeting her and talking to her. It's a cash only business, but they do have an ATM on site that charges a small fee. They also threw in a free shirt, so that was a bonus. I've struggled getting ahold of them since to schedule more appointments, but that may be pandemic related? I'll keep trying.

My brother and I went as walk-ins around 10:30 Saturday evening. Everyone we met, and dealt with from the shop owners to our artists Tag and Roc, was friendly. The pricing is fair and the work was beautifully done. This is the oldest tattoo shop in Louisiana and the experience shows. Highly recommend.

My mom and I were passing through when we decided to get my very first tattoo done in New Orleans as our favorite author held this place dear to her heart. Chopper was my artist and he was very kind and accommodating. I simply walked in, we spoke briefly about what I wanted (I was very specific), then we got to work. I'm so very pleased with the experience and the outcome of my new ink. Plus, my tattoo carries the history of this tattoo parlor. How cool is that? Chopper also gave me plenty of advice for whenever I go to get future tattoos which I greatly appreciated.

This place has had a home in my heart for over 15 years. My original piecer BooBi has left for ATL years ago however I still send friends and those alike here for piercing / tattoos. My only red flag, is this place doesn’t feel / look as clean as it should especially during COVID. The piercing jewelry options all look / are cheap. But if it’s trying to maintain the original tattoo shop it’s definitely nailing it. On street parking. Tattoo area, Handicap accessible. Cash only. ATM on site

Had a truly magical experience at the shop. I really believe it was kismet coming here. Kyle was my artist and he made me and my little group feel perfectly at home. It was my first real tattoo, to cover up a homemade tattoo, and he treated me wonderfully. Not a thing to worry about. The vibe of the shop was awesome and he helped me stay in my budget and gave me a piece that one wouldn't guess was a cover up. It is beautiful and I feel truly blessed to have found this place and this artist. Definitely felt the stars aligned and I can not say enough good things.

I had a bad septum piercing done on me at another shop. I had to get it taken out immediately and luckily they were able to take me in last minute. The guy who took it out was Grouch, who despite the name was actually very friendly! He got it out quickly and with no discomfort, and was kind enough to offer me another ring to replace the messed up one. If I were to get a tattoo or a piercing, it would definitely be from him!

I was in town for the weekend and wanted a tat. I called and the gentleman that answered the phone said walk ins welcome, so needless to say I had to check out the oldest continuous running shop in the state. I walked in and it was such a cool vibe and it was clean! I walked over and I met with Chopper who sat down and took his time to draw up what I wanted. He took he time and was honestly quite a perfectionist, which I was extremely happy about because my tat come out so beautifully. The shading and lines came out SUPER CRISP on my darker skin. went here today and got a wonderful piece of art work from CHOPPER. I love it, he was absolutely great! Not only is he a great tattoo artist he IS an artist. I had somewhat of an idea of what i wanted (sugar skull) and he threw me some ideas, and i told him what i liked. CHOPPER was so patient with me and all his other customers. He was the coolest and most humble tattoo artist i have ever met. I would recomend this place to anyone. Another great artist named MECCA did my husbands tattoo which was a Marine Core tattoo and it came out absolutely flawless. Did i mention this place is the OLDEST tattoo shop in Louisiana? These people know what the hell they are doing.. seriously. I love this place and will continue to go here, first time going and I'm overly impressed with the work, and the people. So, My wife and I were down in New Orleans for my birthday and I'd decided that for my birthday I would get myself a new tattoo and low and behold this establishment was opposite our hotel (would you believe). After reading a few Google reviews, I knew that THIS was the place! On walking in we met Chopper Pete, who was without doubt one of the most professional, straight up likeable dudes I've ever met.. And he also did a killer tattoo on me AND reworked an old too!! The next day my wife was (who had a tattoo booked) was let down and Pete came to the rescue and did the most beautiful custom design of a lotus flower. Soooo big thanks to Chopper Pete and all the staff, you guys rock!

After having a horrible experience with another tattoo shop in NOLA we had been trying for weeks to set up an appointment with before finally managing to get one (which was then canceled upon us showing up to said appointment), we found Aart Accent Tattoo. They were amazing, professional and willing to create 3 individual fun little voodoo doll tattoos for us on the spot and complete all 3 tattoos on a Monday night. Steve is an amazing artist who went above and beyond to turn our ideas into reality, salvaging the final ending to our NOLA trip in the process. Go here if you're looking for skilled artists and a considerate and professional atmosphere. 10/10 will go back again on my next visit to New Orleans!

Visited New Orleans for my 30th birthday. Live in Austin so I am used to high caliber tattoo work but I wanted to get something while I was here. Asked around town about good studios and everyone that made a recommendation pointed me here. Did not disappoint. Liz discussed the piece with me at length prior to discussing price and showed genuine enthusiasm to come up with something. After that Faye and I negotiated a very fair price. The tattoo itself was skillfully executed and looks great, I am already thinking about coming back next year to have her do another one. Only complaint was the music, y’all need to get those artists some better speakers and a Spotify account! They deserve it. A+

Apparently the woman that owns the store (I wish I could remember her name) was the first African American female tattoo artist in the country. My friend and I just wanted shop minimums. We called and the fit us right in. CHOPPER IS THE MAN TO SEE! His portfolio is incredible and he was so down to earth, not stuck up like some artists. He even recommended things to do while we where there and he was right on all accounts. We both got EKG tracings, he hand drew them. The quickest most painless tattoo I ever had. Can't wait to go back and get a piece from him. The work he did for use looks simple, but is difficult since it's a once pass deal. They both look perfect, the lining is solid! If you are looking for some ink while in town you have to go here and ask for Chopper.

Me and my girlfriend got matching hummingbird tattoos. Hers looks amazing, but missing some color. Mine is not what expected and missing color as well. Seemed a little rushed. "Crash" did our tattoos. They are still pretty nice, and a very good price. We got what we paid for. Still gave 4 stars because they were very accommodating and friendly.

Allie is the best! My sister and I stopped in for a tat for her birthday! Her lines are so SHARP! She is very passionate about her work. My sis got a cover-up and a new tat. The cover was so amazing!!! I got 2 also. Allie was clean and hygienic about everything. We were told about the credit card vs cash payment which was NOT a problem. It's not Walmart! LOL! Businesses pass those fees on to customers with their prices. The shop doesn't want to. At least they tell you. At least the ATM is in the shop. Definitely will come back when we're in town again!

I wanted to shout out James for the awesome tattoo! All of the guys in the shop were cool and friendly, chatting with us as we waited for my turn. James is chatty, but in a good way. My daughter, her friend, and I all walked in to get some tattoos while on vacation. I was nervous about going to a place that allows walk-ins and straying from my usual artist, but felt relieved once inside and greeted by Scott. Everyone there was extremely friendly and had us laughing from the moment we walked in. My daughter’s friend had a VERY tight budget with a very specific request for her first tattoo and Steven offered to take care of her so she wouldn’t have to compromise and get something different. He also did an amazing job on a dainty chrysanthemum on my daughters ankle. Tag drew up a design of a rooster that FAR surpassed what I had in mind and even incorporated wrought iron and a fleur de lis into the design to make it more special. We were in and out in 2.5 hours. I’m extremely happy I chose to go here and will continue to do so every time I visit New Orleans.

I was visiting New Orleans for a wedding and wanted to get a tattoo while I was there. I needed an artist that could put an image to my thoughts and Kyle was able to do exactly what I wanted. I originally started emailing Electric Ladyland prior to my trip trying to collaborate with an artist to be able to accomplish what I wanted. After leading me on for three weeks that they would have multiple artist to choose from that would be capable of giving me what I wanted, I ended up receiving an email that said "when it comes to tattooing, some things can and cannot be done" and that in their "professional opinion" there was not a way to incorporate what I had with what I wanted the end result to be. Fortunately I did not let that stop me from finding the right artist for my piece. My next stop was Aart Accent where I met Kyle. Kyle looked at the exact same pictures I had sent Electric Ladyland for inspiration, LISTENED to what I wanted and what was important to me to incorporate into the piece and said he was glad I didn't give up because in his professional opinion what I wanted could be done. Kyle apparently made the impossible possible because my new piece is perfect and exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend Kyle at Aart Accent.
