My family wanted to get tattoos to commemorate are long overdue trip to Hawaii. The staff there was extremely friendly and helpful in finding the perfect tattoos for each individual. Bernardo Vargera brought these to life even better than any of us expected not only is he a great artist but he is also just a great guy keeping my wife and daughter calm in there first tattoo experience.

I’ve been in Hawaii on a long-term work assignment since May 1st. I decided I wanted to get a tattoo (my first one) while I was here that would commemorate the trip. My husband had a tattoo done there a few weeks before I did. We both had our work done by Barbara, who was nothing short of amazing. After seeing what she’d done for him I decided I wanted her to do my first tattoo. I came to her with an idea and wanted some changes to it to incorporate an outline of the islands. Barbara made a suggestion of how the islands should be incorporated as well as another element of the tattoo that I fell in love with immediately. I couldn’t be happier with the way the tattoo turned out. Everyone that we’ve dealt with has been absolutely amazing, including the piercing shop staff where I had my ears pierced. Danica did my piercings and she did a great job making sure they were symmetrical and making sure I knew how to take care of them after they were done. I’m so happy with the tattoo that Barbara did that my husband and I have appointments on Saturday to have another one done. I would definitely recommend this place very highly!

Had an absolutely AMAZING nose piercing experience here! Bronson made the process seamless and is super knowledgeable when it comes to aftercare + jewelry replacement. They were patient and made sure all my questions were answered before moving forward. They had plenty of jewelry options and I went forth with a silver star stud. Customer service was great. A couple of my buddies had scheduled appointments, and I was able to get an appointment as a walk-in within an hour. Shawn was very friendly and did a wonderful job. Took me as a walk in within an hour of inquiry. Tattoo came out great, artist asked lots of questions to ensure how I wanted details. Very friendly service from all the staff I encountered. Price is more than mainland but that’s pretty typical of most services & goods. Would definitely recommend!

Walked-in and got 2 piercings, done within 30 minutes. Danica was awesome! She was friendly, fast, and professional. Everything was clean and sterilized. Great experience. The only painful part was finding parking. Hint, there's a paid parking area on the street behind the shop. Bernardo did an amazing job on my forearm. Looks better than I imagined it would. Everyone was great and made the process easy, clean, safe, and memorable. I highly recommend Skin Deep.

My husband and I came for walk-in tattoos after being recommended to this shop by one down the road (green flag!). Maggie at the desk was super helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Jay (our artist) had some of the crispiest lines and best attitude of any artist I've worked with (7 so far). If we didn't live on the mainland, I'd be making this my permanent tattoo home shop.

After doing alot of research, this is the best tattoo shop in Hawii. Natalie makes you feel welcome the minute you walk in to the time you leave. I didn't feel rushed or uncomfortable at any moment. Bernardo was my tattoo artist and created an amazing custom realism tattoo. Shawn worked with my husband to merge his several ideas into a beautiful Polynesian turtle tattoo. This place is amazing. The cost is very competitive and worth every penny.

I was forced to get my dermal piercing taken out due to my body rejecting it. Was pretty deep in my skin and very painful. I was in tears , but the lady piercer was soo awesome! Came in as a walk in and wasn't sure if we were going to get anything, or what we wanted. The receptionist (we learned her name is Maggie) was so patient with our lack of knowledge and walked us through the whole process and even helped us pick our new tattoos. The artist was Jay and she was also sweet and helpful. Nice shop, great employees. Highly recommend!

Piercing place is up front and you have to go thru the alley entrance for tattoos. Follow the cool mural around the corner, space is limited so no more than a few ppl inside at a time. My experience: literally last weekend-The shop was booked, we were trying to get two bookings for a small tat (traveled from TX and only in town for that weekend-had to leave bc covid restrictions were about to start) so we asked to be squeezed in if any cancelations came up-even if it was just one of us. We both got squeezed in and our artist was very sweet and accommodating. My 20yo son explained that he wanted the red star from Jojo's anime, she looked up the actual template and made it happen. Pics are from the day of and 1wk later-no peeling, feels great! ALSO--the waves took my nose ring so I actually got help from both store fronts. You do need to have an appointment and I was thankful to be squeezed in on both storefronts inbetween clients. I purchased a titanium opal nose ring with a flat anchor and connecting on the outside gem--was basically $40 for the ring and staff installed it for me at no additional cost Sidenote: it was a *huge* deal for him to get the tat when he did... much love 💘 for all the staff who helped us-y'all made our overseas trip that much more special to us!

My sisters and I went here to get piercings and Mel was working at the front she was very sweet and helpful. She told us when we got there that since we didn’t have an appointment we’d have to wait an hour cause there was 4 people in front of us which we didn’t mind but the wait ended up being much shorter. When it was time to get our piercings Krista pierced all three of us and this was by far the best piercing experience that we all have had and we have plenty of other piercings. The piercing process was VERY smooth and Krista talked us through the whole thing. Her energy was very pleasant and she was extremely patient with us. I would definitely come here again.

My husband and I were walk-in clients a few hours before our flight home. The Skin Deep Tattoo team went out of their way to fit us in and provided such a great experience! The customer service was fantastic. I’ve been to a handful of tattoo shops where the artists are rude and don’t care to provide a pleasant experience for smaller jobs. We had the opposite experience at Skin Deep. Anna was fantastic to work with and we are so grateful she was able to fit us in!

My family (4) and myself got tattoos the night before we left Hawaii (6/16). The staff were awesome, Sean Jen and Scott were our artists. The front desk person that night was Devlin, she was very sweet and helpful. The artist are very talented and help you create the tatto you want and we’re patient with us. We all would go there again

The only place I will go to for a tattoo! I have had 2 pieces done by Jen Bradbury and she is AMAZING! The first one, I had an idea of what I wanted. I met with Jen and we discussed it, I showed her a generic picture I found of the direction I was thinking. She listened to what I was saying, and asked questions. She came up with a design that was perfect! It was simple but had so much meaning behind it from what I had told her. My second one is equally as perfect. The colour work is incredible and I get comments all the time as to how beautiful the colours are done. My sister and a friend visiting also got pieces from Jen and are also thrilled by them.

I did a walk in and I recommend you email them before the open to be able to get good info on whats going on for the day. I got work done by Brian and I'm really happy with what I got done. My wife and I stopped in to get a feel for the shop and ended up discussing some ideas we had, got great feedback and decided to book some time with Pyro. We booked on a Sunday and were coming in on Wednesday to have the work performed. My wife and I talked about ideas we had that slightly changed things up a little and were planning on discussing them when we came in for our appointment. When we arrived and saw the sketches, they had already incorporated our “changes” which was awesome! Pyro did two for my wife and one for me and it couldn’t have been a better scene. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful and Pyro crushed the artwork! I’ll be waiting for anymore body art until I come back to Skin Deep…Thank you!

My first experience at Skin Deep was about 15 years ago to get a belly ring piercing and it was absolutely amazing. Today I returned to get a double tragus piercing and again the entire staff was absolutely amazing!!! Tony did my piercing and he took the time to talk to me to ensure I got exactly what I wanted. He spoke to me in a very calm and reassuring manner to let me know what to expect as he walked me through the process. After deciding to get a double piercing in one ear I started to second guess myself only to realize that he had done both before I ever knew it. My posts are lined up perfectly and look amazing!!! I couldn’t ask for anything better or more. I appreciate everyone taking the time with my friend and I to assist us with exactly what we came in for and not just trying to make a sale!!! Great services and exactly on time. You have to get a appointment because they are so busy, but the prices aren't that bad. Big selection for all types of piercing not too bad of a price also 40 for the job( nose piercing) and 30-100 on the piece you want which isn't bad.

I love this place! Went to get my nostril pierced. Everyone was so nice and very helpful. The whole process took about 15 minutes. They walked me through everything they were going to do. Since I had already had my nostril pierced before they just re-poked the previous hole I’d had. Which was exactly what I wanted, making the healing process easier. Amazing experience getting my first tattoo! While on vacation we found this place on Google Maps and decided to check them out. I was pretty sure I would have had to make an appointment in advance, but we thought we'd go check it out anyway. As we were making our way to the location, we saw you have to walk down an alley to get to this shop. My husband thought it looked sketchy and was surprised I didn't back out, but I was trying to stay open minded. The moment we walked in the door, everyone was SO kind and helpful. The place was very clean, and the bathrooms were the nicest, and cleanest, that we saw on our entire vacation! We discussed what I was looking for, and our plans for the remainder of our vacation. Since we had a snorkeling expedition scheduled for the following morning, we made an appointment for the following afternoon since you can't swim with fresh tattoos. I was so nervous, but Tamara took very good care of me! She told me she would just do a single dot and stop so I could process what I was feeling, and we would keep going only when I was ready. It was a strange type of pain, hard to predict or explain, but not bad enough for me to change my mind. She told me I could have a break any time I needed. The whole tattoo took about 15 minutes, and I only asked for one break in the middle to take a quick sip of my water. I really wanted to just get through it as quickly as possible. I was so surprised when she said we were all done - and it turned out SO beautiful! I would recommend Tamara to anyone, although everyone here was so kind and welcoming I'm sure they all do great work. No regrets at all!

I got two ear lobe piercings (2 on each ear so 4 total) and one nose piercing and my total was $250. Usually shops will only charge you one piercing fee if you are getting earrings because its common to do both sides but i guess this place doesnt do that.

I was a walk-in on a Thursday afternoon to get piercings. I knew it would be a bit of a wait just because the shop is always busy and they do such great work. In need of some quality jewelery, I decided to come to this shop with the only APP certified piercer on island, and sells high quality jewelry (e.g., Anatometal, Neo-Metal, BVLA). Hidden down an alley in between two buildings was this gem of a shop. Tony, the piercer on staff, was incredibly friendly and thorough. He talked to me about all of my jewelry options, and when I decided to get a piercing, he talked to me about how viable the piercing was for my anatomy. Together, he and I came up with an awesome vision for my piercing and he seemed as excited and amped about it as I was. Everything in the back of the shop was very clean, with an emphasis on sterility and explaining the whole process. Even as an individual with several piercings, Tony explained this to me without making me feel bogged down or talked down to. I felt like I'd made a friend, and he even helped me by switching around my conch orbital jewelry, which someone else did, to fit in with my aesthetic idea. He also put in my new tragus jewelry snug per my request. My new daith piercing is amazing, and I love the fact that I now have matching opal jewelry in my one ear. The shop, at least in the piercing side, is incredible.

I am currently on vacation and lost a O-Ring for my 6 gauge septum pincher in the water. Ace was way too far to walk, so I googled piercing shops and this was the first one to have what I needed. 10 pairs of O-Rings for 5 bucks, what a steal! People were extremely sweet. The shop smells clean and has an awesome presentation. I wish I was here long enough to have more experience for this shop, but I am glad to have found a shop willing to kindly help me last minute. Thank you!!

It is very convenient because it is open until late at night. If you get a tattoo, you won't be able to get a tan, so it is recommended that you come to the store once, decide on a design, make a reservation, and then have the tattoo done on the night of the final day.
