Most people that I know have gotten a tattoo to represent an achievement in their life, a loss in their life, a love in their life. It's definitely an emotional experience to have something permanently impressed on your body. This particular tattoo was on my mind for 5 years representing the loss of a loved one. Not only did I want to be confident on the decision I made for what I wanted to put on my body but I also wanted to be confident and comfortable with the decision I made on who was going to put it on my body. I do happen to know Darlene personally and for more than 20 years. Having her do it was just as important to me as what I was choosing to do. Darlene worked closely with me to translate my vague idea into a beautiful, vibrant, colorful design of a kangaroo done in the style of Aboriginal art. I am the proud owner of a 3/4 sleeve done by Darlene about 15 yrs ago. The colors are still vibrant and I get comments on it whenever the weather is nice and I’m in short sleeves. I knew I wanted a sleeve but wasn’t sure about the design. After talking with Darlene for awhile I decided to let her go with what she thought would work for me and my sensibilities and she and her art. She said, “ I’ve been saving a beautiful Japanese Buddha for the right occasion and I think this is it!” I agreed and we embarked on a project that took 4 sittings and a total of almost 12 hrs. At the end I had one of the most beautiful, colorful and original pieces of art that I’d seen! The big plus was, I could take it with me wherever I went. I thoroughly enjoyed our time spent together. For many years I have considered tattooing my legs to hide significant spider veins that caused me to cover up for over 20 years. Once I started asking around for a reputable Boston area tattoo artist who is versed in women's bodies, Darlene's name immediately came up. After two sessions (and likely a dozen more to finish the leg work, and then adorn some other areas) I am floored by how well Darlene's artistry and vision has accomplished the task. She took my request to pay homage to imagery that was meaningful to me, then made it her own with a leaf pattern that makes the completed work look seamless, even though the spider veins are dictating the placement. Her studio is IMMACULATE, comfortable, convenient, and welcoming, and the conversation is always entertaining. I HIGHLY recommend Darlene and Odyssey Wellness Tattoo.

Had an excellent experience with Odyssey Wellness Tattoo. Met with Darlene, the principal of the firm, to determine whether she could help me with my breast reconstruction since the plastic surgeon tattooed my areola several times, and could not get the tattoo to be symmetrical with the other areola, and after several tries with the plastic surgeon, the tattooed areola actually shrunk. With two follow-up sessions with Darlene, the areola on both sides look authentic, symmetrical and true to form. I am no longer paranoid going to the beach and I have Darlene to thank for her professionalism and her skills. I would wholeheartedly recommend Darlene for wellness and aesthetic tattooing.

I had Johannes do some additions/changes to a tattoo I got elsewhere that I wasn't completely happy with. He was great! He really spent the time to understand what I wanted and explain options, what would work and why.
