Y'all listen okay, I came into this tattoo shop 2 weeks ago and this is by far THE BEST TATTOO SHOP I'VE EVER BEEN TO. And I don't say that lightly, no they really are the best. The tattoo shop is so clean, like the cleanest tattoo shop I've ever seen. When I called up there to just inquire about getting a tattoo, April was so sweet and so kind. And honestly, everyone was so nice, kind, and helpful. This place just has a great vibe about it. Josh is amazing and he is just incredible. He took the tattoo I wanted and just made it so much better. He realized now important it was to me because it was for in memory of sister. The colors look absolutely great on my skin tone because as an African American, you always have to wonder, will this color show up good on my skin tone. He made sure he picked colors he knew would show up on my skin and made suggestions on whats not going to show up good on my skin and I really and truly appreciated that. I can rant and rave about Josh all day, but, just trust me when I say, he's the best tattoo artist I've ever had and I will definitely be coming to him for any and every tattoo I want in the future. My tattoo did not take long at all and he did such an amazing job on it. It looks absolutely beautiful. I will definitely be back and I have definitely told everyone how good of a tattoo shop this place is!!! First, I wanna say, this is one of the friendliest shops I’ve ever been to. Tattoo shops can be notorious for not having the friendliest people. But, not this place. April was fantastic. we had an amazing experience at symbolic ink. our family was on vacation & decided we wanted tattoos since we are now all over 18. we had called places in gulf shores but no one had openings so we reached out to symbolic ink. we called & they said to come on in & see what we want. we came in & the women up front (april) was super helpful & gave us advice. we ended up having to wait almost 2 hours since it was a friday night & they were doing walk ins. we came in & drew up the stencils & signed health forms. my tattoo only took about 10 minutes & so did my fiancés. my brothers took about an hour & 15 min minutes since it was bigger & more detail. brittney tattooed my fiancé & i & she was super calm & did an amazing job! randy tattooed my brother & was very helpful & explained the whole process. i would definitely come again!

Symbolic Ink is the BEST place to go. My husband and I’s experience there with Josh was by far the best experience we’ve had in a tattoo shop and with an artist. He was very professional, made us feel comfortable, and gave us exactly what we were wanting. We absolutely love our tattoos and will most definitely be going back to see Josh for more work when we visit Gulf Shores again!! And April at the front desk was very helpful and great as well!

First off, this place is one of the friendliest shops I’ve been too. As a tourist, going into a tattoo shop in a city far away it can be intimidating, but I felt like I was at home here. I was a walk-in and so was my wife. We were in and out in 2 hours. Our artist “6” was one of the friendliest and most talented guys I’ve ever met. He did an amazing job. Next time we are back in town, we will be back 100%!

Six did my belly button piercing tonight & it did not hurt at all or even bleed! I was very impressed and what a fantastic guy he is to make time to do this for me as a walk in! He’s a boss when it comes to Peircing! I also had an appointment to have a tattoo with Ashton, who always does mine! As always she did an amazing job, virtually painless. All I had to do was provide her with a photo of the tattoo I wanted & she absolutely nailed it!!! This amazing lady knows her skill and it amazes me how much of a perfectionist she is to make sure to always get it right just the way you want it! Honestly I cannot say enough great things about Symbolic Ink! And if you have a tattoo done here it comes with free fill in’s for life on your tattoo!

It was a pretty decent experience. It seemed a little pricy for the sizes we got but still reasonable. Something that is slightly concerning is that we got absolutely no information on aftercare nor did they cover it with any plastic protective film or wrap like most places do. I was expecting them to do that but they didn’t. Nothing on aftercare. But Randy did our tattoos as walk ins and he was very light handed. It was my first tattoo and I enjoyed the experience, but I might aim for a scheduled tattoo with consultation at another location in the future now that I know what I’m in for!

First tattoo experience. Great environment, super cool staff, very relaxing. but the work itself is very poor quality. My confidence walking in was higher than my confidence walking out. I immediately regretted my decision to get 3 small SIMPLE triangles drawn on my arm. Some time after this review the owner contacted me and kept his word. The next year we went on vacation he fixed our tattoos himself and gave us a credit for the mishap. I appreciate his generosity and will recommend his work for anyone.

So sorry for the late review, Chris. Chris (the owner) does such good work! Went by around 2:30pm Monday afternoon and told them what I wanted. Got a quote and left. Called them back and made an appointment for 7 that night. Got back to the shop around 6:30 and there were literally 25 or so people there waiting on tattoos and piercings. I did have to wait a while but it really wasn't a problem. All customers talked amongst ourselves and had a great time. Chris' wife is such a sweetheart as well. Always smiling and talking to you like she's genuinely interested in what you have to say. Finally got called into Chris' stall and got started. He did an amazing job. Clean, straight lines. Good conversation. And he's fast. What a great artist! I will definitely be back to see him. Update: Its been about 3 weeks since I got the tattoo. Unlike my other tattoos (gotten elsewhere in the past), thus one healed so well and doesn't have one single blank spot. All lines are still perfectly crisp and the black is still super black. I live 5 hours away but I will drive to Symbolic for every tattoo I get from now on! Can't wait to see you guys again. See pic for the tattoo I've been talking about! 😁

Early December we found out our cruise was going to be cancelled so we rearranged our vacation. We decided to come to Gulf Shores. Personally I’ve always been a spontaneous person so as us 4 girls were down here for vacation we knew a tattoo would be perfect. We may have bombarded Randy as he was prepping for a personal walk in and was the only artist at the shop, but he was more than willing to fit us in. Everything about the experience at Symbolic Ink was incredible. If we didn’t live 16 hours away, I would continue to visit the shop as I decided on more tattoos. This place was fantastic. Me, my sister, and her boyfriend all came in as walk-ins. We each got tattooed by Carol, who was fantastic. She sat with us to size our designs properly and to make sure everything was perfect. All of our tattoos came out wonderfully and I’m so happy with the quality. I went to get an industrial piercing & was extremely nervous about how much it would hurt, but Brittany was absolutely amazing at keeping me calm & talking me through the entire process beforehand & during; her peppy attitude was contagious & she was finished in only a minute or two. We were visiting from out of town I went for my first tattoo, I forgot the young lady’s name but she down a awesome job and made it as comfortable as she could. Symbolic Ink has some of the friendliest and welcoming staff, not to mention that the shop was spotless, very clean, which is always a great thing. I had the pleasure of meeting Harry and discussing some of my ideas and getting his input for my next tattoo and let me just say that Harry is phenomenal. One of the nicest and laid back individuals that I have ever met. He was extremely attentive to details and did everything in his power to make it the easiest process possible. 10/10 I would recommend Harry's work, he's extremely talented and any ink that I get in the foreseeable future I will for sure be working with Harry.
