Drove here from Statesville to get a birthday tattoo for myself! This cute little house looks awesome inside. There's a lot of antique decor and they have beautiful jewelry for sale and theres an upstairs and downstairs. It is a little more unique than most shops you see! Staff were very sweet and made sure you feel welcome and the bathroom is very clean. The parking situation is a little confusing and that was the only thing I wasn't super fond of so make sure to call ahead if you get confused so you don't park somewhere that blocks someone's home or earns you a ticket!

Great shop with a bunch of awesome and talented artists. I've known Rebecca for years and I highly recommend her as an artist. She's done 5 of my pieces so far and I know there will be many more to come! They've all healed perfectly and the oldest has gone 8 years while still retaining good color, sharp lines, and crisp detail. Her colors and solid blacks are consistent and bold. (I never find those light patchy bits that need a touch-up.) The care and attention she gives every client and each design ensures you'll get a quality tattoo that's exactly what you want.

I highly recommend Pure Steam and Rebecca, the owner. The whole experience outdid my expectations as a first-timer get pierced. We come to Asheville often and was in the area. I called and she returned my call quickly. We set up sn appt for that evening. I was nervous since this was my first time, and she gave me all my options as far as nose piercings and sizes. As she marked where it would be on my nose, she even took into consideration my glasses and made sure they would not nump onto them. She was calm which made me calm and my nerves and jitters went away immediatly. I even made the comment after she put the needle in, “That wasn’t at all as bad as I thought!” She was clean and made sure everything was sterile from start to finish. My favorite part…if we’re back in Asheville, she likes to follow up with her clients and see me in 6-8 weeks! What a personalized touch! I will recommend her to all my friends that live up this way! For any more work, I will be back to see Rebecca!

Rebecca is amazing, this is the second tattoo she has done for me and her attention to detail is remarkable. This was a small wrist tattoo, the cost was shop minimum but she spent so much time and care to be precise with her lines. Not only is she an excellent artist but her shop is clean and welcoming and she does an excellent job at explaining the aftercare with clear instructions. UPDATE 2/27 I've gone to Rebecca for over a year now, 6 sessions total, and she's still incredible. I've got more work to do on my sleeve but I'll definitely keep making the drive up. Original: I'll be posting photos once Rebecca finishes my sleeve but she has been absolutely amazing to work with! From the start she helped design my tattoo, give me updates and ideas to make the tattoo better, and now we're going into our 4 session next month and I could not be happier. She is extremely kind and really cares about how the artwork will end up on your body. She doesn't rush through and wants to make sure she is thorough with the work so that you are happy with it. I cannot express how happy I am to have Rebecca as my tattoo artist and I'm looking forward to continue using her for my future tattoos after we finish my sleeve!

Rebecca is amazing. I chose Pure Steam because even though I was bringing her a small tattoo and not a large piece of business, she was kind and attentive from my initial contact. Other places were standoffish or not willing to work in something small, but she took the time to make me feel like she wanted me as a client. Once we got there, I knew immediately I’d made the right choice. The studio is immaculate, and she was very thorough in explanation and consultation. Not only was I a walk-in but she stayed open well past the shops closing time. So not only was my tattoo done right but it wasn't rushed and the result is amazing. I went in and saw the jewelry and they where absoulty beautiful. Very neatly divided to where you can see what you want. The amazing old house this shop is located in and it's decor only ad's to the experience. Without a doubt the cleanest tat parlor I have ever been in. Rebecca's light touch and finesse with the needle has to be experienced . There are a lot ot tat shops in Asheville but this one is tops for how they treat their clients, cleanliness and talent. Was out for the weekend in Asheville and on a whim went to get pierced. Had my ears gauged and my gf had her nose pierced.spyro was awesome he was very patient while we picked out the jewelry and was very excited to do the piercing. He took his time and we were not made to feel like it was a cookie cutter shop. Everything was clean and the piercings came out great and are healing well. Will be going back to get pierced again and would have Spyro do it again. It really was a great experience and the atmosphere was great.
