It's a short walk so it's very convenient. You can't count on their inventory and some of the prices are almost double from what you'd find 15 minutes north. Some items are reasonable enough and the self checkout staff are always awesome.

This is probably the worst Safeway I have ever been in. It's pretty small, the layout is wacky, they're always out of things, and the customers can be grimy (saw security stop a lady who then chucked the 20oz soda she was lifting as far as she could into the middle of the aisles). If this store wasn't 3 blocks from my place I would never go in, the ballard Safeway is much better. The best part of this store is the cashiers, I can't believe how happy and cheery they remain despite the AWFUL people they deal with all day. Seriously some of these people are borderline saints and I will wait in line for them rather than use self checkout because they're that friendly.

Good parking, okay selection. My favorite items are frequently out of stock which can be frustrating, especially because this is a small store with not a lot of alternate options. The staff is wonderful, but there are not enough of them. It's not uncommon for only one lane to be open for checkout, forcing you into self checkout, even with a full cart. Last time I went in there were NO full service lines open. I don't mind using self checkout when I only have a few items, but if I'm going to be scanning and bagging a full cart of groceries I should be getting an employee discount.

They have moved this store all around, so now I wander the aisles looking for what I need. They usually only have one cashier, and self checkout is always swamped. Products I'm searching for are not always available. You must check your receipts because I get over charged frequently on sale items even though I use my safeway card and add to my list on the safeway app.

It's okay pretty clean shelves are always stocked unlike others it's good that they finally have security. Had a guy over here at my apt. Brent He used to do beer runs from this place all the time. that is grab two 24 packs and walk right out of the store without even paying. Notice the other day he saw the security guys and walked right out of the store without even trying. I thought it was funny I was trying not to laugh.

Pretty solid shopping experience. Parking is convenient - thank goodness. With the location, that was my main worry. Obviously the layout isn't exactly standard, and it's not "suburban supermarket" sized, but they do make good use of the space. It's not super-well stocked, but they do manage to fit in every department I'd hope to find there, so while the selection isn't particularly deep (like having tons of alternatives for any given item), it is at least broad. So that's nice.

Easy parking especially for handicapped it's under cover from parking lot to the front door so you're not going to get wet and it always smells good which for downtown is really rare prices are better than QFC

I have been a BECU customer for a while now and the results to that is the best bank i ever banked with. Becu is a truly come true bank especially with the customers service. I was killing time before a meeting. I bought an electrolyte drink with Zero Sugar. It immediately refreshed me. I got some breakfast items that were just enough and would stay fresh until I could get home later on in the evening. The staff were so nice. It was a Trade Mark Safeway experience for sure. It set me up for going into an intense meeting with a genuine smile on my face. Thank you.

Convenient and usually well stocked. Not enough employees at the registers, and they can be a bit standoffish. The area has gotten pretty rough and there's almost always homeless people hanging around outside. I've seen them go inside and get confrontational with employees and customers too.

Super tiny but mostly adequate. Hot and cold deli food was rather in point that day. My boyfriend and I grabbed a bit to eat there for lunch one day and were rather impressed. Definitely want to visit again!

Free underground parking garage is great. Selection is pretty good for such a compact store. Friendly staff and much less expensive than Metropolitan Market. The lines can be long at peak times so plan your shopping trip well. It could use some self-checkout machines to remedy the slow checkout times.

My favorite shopping place. Great selections and very friendly and helpful employees. They have a lot of people from the store from Upper Queen Anne that is now closed working there. I miss the old original Crew and with a few exceptions these employees are not as friendly or helpful as the original store employees. A few are but basically people notice the difference in attitude.

This is one of the smaller Safeway stores, appropriately sized for its location. Nonetheless they have a great selection at usually pretty great prices. One thing I think Safeway does not get enough credit for is their selection of hot and cold food. The quality and taste is just way better than most other grocery stores. The produce is usually available at a great price as well.

A lot of panhandlers congregate at this location. The store is more of a glorified convenience store with better pricing. Avoid lunch time and evening commute time due to the overcrowding. Safeway needs to expand this store or build a new one. It's a heavily used store. UPDATE 01/09/2022: Since my original post, the store has been torn down. A new store is being constructed on sight. When they are all through I'll submit a review of the new store.

I don’t shop here often, mostly just to grab something on my way to work, but the last few times when buying bagels, specifically the cheddar ones they’ve been burnt. Maybe have a talk with whoever is in the bakery.

Seems smaller for a Safeway. I actually have never had problems getting quick parking no matter what time or day of the week. My only problem with this location is the music in the parking garage is cranked way too loud a little bit distracting when your trying to park a vehicle especially when it is really busy with traffic and people or even just to have a conversation. Besides that staff seems friendly although they seem a little bit uneasy and I got the feeling like I was being constantly watched or followed as if I was shoplifting wich I don't ever do. Maybe they have higher than usual problems with shoplifting in this safeway. Still staff has always been courteous when actaully interacted with.

A grocery and home accessories store. Employee's are always nice, prices are reasonable priced, compared to my local market. Plus has items like, frozen blueberries, which my local market doesn't have. The donuts are always out early in the morning, although I wish they had chocolate croissants. But none the less, a good store to buy from if you're in the area.

Clean and lines move quickly (i.e. have sufficient cashiers). So far, this has been my favorite local grocer of the larger chains. It’s small for a Safeway, but they have the basics that I need. They even have Java Chip ice cream, which is incredibly difficult to find for some odd reason.

The store is great. The young man in the deli wearing a black shirt had a sour attitude. He rolled his eyes while he helped the lady ahead of me. I was vested and I'm not familiar with the area, so I stayed. I had a question, and he seemed to frustrated. It's his job to offer customer service. It's my job to ask how fresh the food is. I got my food and left. The cashier was pleasant. I forgot to ask for ketchup, so I went back. This time I asked the man wearing all white. He was very pleasant. The rude kid can use an attitude adjustment. I won't return.

Don't let some of these reviewers fool you into thinking this is a terrible store. It has been a few rough months for everyone during this pandemic but this store seems to be wading through it well. The staff are patient and kind and they (usually) are fully stocked. I am not one to complain about employees taking breaks as long as they stay 25 ft from the door while they smoke. Only issue I have is that they cant make the homeless get away from the door but sadly it seems out of their hands...

It's near home, and great if I need something quick and it's a common item. But as far as Safeway's go it's pretty small, and a lot of my favorite things just aren't stocked here. Haven't had much luck with the produce either, if I need anything fresh I prefer to drive a bit to some further stores that seem to have more quality fruits and vegetables.

the checker today was super helpful, sharing an idea for one of the items I purchased. it's moments like this that harken back to the days of the "neighborhood grocer." One of the many reasons we remain loyal to this store. So thankful that they were diligently serving us during the pandemic.

Our poor Safeway in Jefferson Square is woefully understaffed on a regular basis. But they're doing a good job at upping their organic produce options! Just need to carve time to stand in line. There was literally one checkstand open on a Friday evening, 15 people deep, and the checker was someone getting trained.

Great supermarket selling a great range of produce to cover the general needs of most people. Great in house bakery serving up special bargain priced cakes, fresh bagels, pies etc. Great selection of cooked meats and cheeses with take away sandwiches available. Great range of fresh vegetables and fruit on offer including organic range.

Safeway is my "Go-To" Grocery store on the West Coast. They have great variety, their deli and ready meals section is good and reasonably priced. Cant find a quick bite somewhere? Consider Safeway next time.

I have become rather fond of this Safeway, perhaps even more so during the era of COVID-19. Yes, it is a downtown grocery store with a weird layout. However, I always find what I want with surprising variety and esoterica. More importantly, the staff and shoppers can be so genuinely nice that it feels like a friendly community corner store. they have the foods i buy. no trouble with finding items. however the homeless population and bus stop out front are a magnet for mischief. every time i walk there it is shady. the most annoying part, the homeless smokers sitting out front of the entrance. they blow smoke right where you enter/exit and it is disgusting.

I don't know what's worse, the contant shoplifting the emotes have to deal with or being falling around the store by employees because you have a back pack. Some stores have gone so far as to make you leave your backpack at the cash register. As messed up as that sounds, after what I've seen you almost can't blame the stores. Buy on rhe other hand as a customer whodoesnt shoplift, when you are asked to leave the back pack at the checkout you would yhink there would be some sort of responsibility taken by the store to protect your belongings in there care. Unfortunately for myself and the i-phone I left in the backpack was stolen. Due to a shift change the.new employee did not know it was there and the thief who causes all this stole my back pack. All on camera and even though.i foled a police report.amd had video I was told by the store that it wasn't thete.problem and the officer who t oom report told me not to expect anything. Where does it stop.i gave epilepsy and can't drive so to protect myself and others I fallow the rules and take the bus. When i.lrave in the motning what I need for the day is in the back pack. My back is a target for both stores gere in Seattle and for the thieves who do the stealing.

Great small town grocery store. Carrie's everything you'd expect from a Safeway. (Good oriental food!) The ONLY downside is the parking. Feels like the store has been here since 1940 when cars fewer and a lot smaller. I like the store. Don't like the parking lot.

I love Safeway and there just 4 U app, however, the little store seems to be Safeway's unwanted little brother. This poor store is religated off the main drag and down the hill behind everything. And if that not bad enough, they are the last store on the delivery route and get whatever is left on the truck. Despite all this they still persevere, have great deals (and offers for club members), great prices and great service. 5 stars for this little Safeway Store!!! Keep up the great work.

Most of my experiences have been rather good there; but, this 1 wasn't so much 😕… While waiting for a cashier to buy my 3 bottles of whiskey which were already at check-out lane #1… some guy was storming up the center isle and making quite the scene by yelling and screaming while knocking things over.

I like this safeway a lot, but could improve in a few areas. It has most of what I need, is in a really convenient location, and their cashiers are all friendly. Their prices are about average for the area, but I think they could be a little more competitive. The biggest pain points for me here is their lack of produce, lack of local beers, and the homeless people that hang outside their front door. You can bet you'll have someone ask your for money on the way in and out.

Astian Black, a manager of this Safeway location, has repeatedly provided exceptional customer service, and truly goes above and beyond to make sure my experience shopping with Safeway continues to be a pleasant one. I’ve witnessed Astian hold this location together, and for what it’s worth, if it wasn’t for his commitment to the best of people and his customer-centric focus, there’s a big chance this Safeway location would not be in operation. I’ve witnessed him diffuse some terrifying and unpleasant situations with both professionalism and grace, and not once have I ever worried for my safety or had any concerns when Astian is there.

I love the service here because they're all real nice. Every single employee I've dealt with has been really good and courteous. The Starbucks in here has the best baristas. They're fast and efficient and sweet and I walk the extra few minutes every morning and skip the Starbucks store because they're so much better here. Even the deli has a real nice staff and after only a couple times they remembered my order perfectly. I love going here.

Nice grocery store in Queen Anne. Ample parking underground, decent selection of known brands, meats, fruits and veggies. Not as much variety as a Whole Foods or PCC but enough to stock your pantry sufficiently.

The store layout was a little odd, but we were able to locate what we needed for a week's worth of groceries. Its convenient that this location has a parking garage attached so you can easily park and get your goods. We walk to this location most days. There always seems to be a homeless individual outside the entrance Everytime we walk there, but the store takes care of things pretty quickly from what we have seen.

I'm am not a fan of Safeway. and sadly this store hasn't changed my mind. But it's the closest grocery store to me. Their produce is fresh (which is nice) but the store layout is cramped. More than 3 people in a line clogs the checkout lines and I don't like their selection of products. Don't buy any of their private label products...poor quality. This location has a high transient population, so you may be solicited on your way in or out (not a negative for me, just an observation). Staff aren't very warm, but aren't rude either.

Compact, but has variety and it's smaller size rotates the inventory of fresh goods well. The usual peak times here are PEAK times, so even with the incredibly competent staff it can be as jammed up as any other grocery at those times, but the competency seems to seep from the staff to the decently abundant self-checkout lines where the most effective whips are other customers. I have never had a below average experience here even at peak which for me is rare at a Safeway. Not that poor experiences happen all the time, but because I shop at a LOT of Safeways a lot of the time due to my work which entails all areas, all hours, in and around the city of Seattle, and no better level of quality, consistency, variety, price, and hours of operation of any restaurant compares to Safeway. This store is no exception. Parking is not super abundant on the street level, in fact I have only seen two spots in the adjoining garage designated for Safeway.

This Safeway is hard to navigate and I find myself always wandering around looking for something that's not where it usually is. Always crowded. Always a line at the check out. There is free parking underneath though which is helpful. They don't have a huge selection either so if I'm doing a lot of shopping I don't go here but it's good to pick up things on a night you don't want to go far.

I came here because they carry all the Tillamook varieties (specially ice cream options which are harder to find in the city than I'd expect) and it didn't disappoint. Good store for the staples with underground parking.

Sean behind the deli counter was super friendly and helpful. He let us sample meats before we purchased and made it a point to be friendly. Serena, at the register, was also kind and efficient. We had a ton of groceries, but she was courteous and checked us out quickly.

Usually before they had enough stock; but here l8tly they been running out of several items by afternoon. Advised to shop this store at least an hour b4 noon. OTW the selection is good on the shelves, but be advised a large portion of the produce section is shipped from S. America and may be very green.

This Safeway is a reduced-SKU Safeway. It doesn't have things often. The number of cashiers is too small, and they need a full time security guard. However, the prices beat metro market nicely.

Good store for a city safeway but they need to clean the grease vent that comes out to the left of the street entrance. It honestly makes me gag so I leave through the parking garage. Otherwise happy employees and good service.

Specializing in cheap, mass produced dry goods and factory farmed meat it's the epitome of American overconsumption. Unfortunately, most of us can't afford the staple foods we depend on if we were to buy strictly from local/sustainable sources. Like it or not, we're forced to embrace it... This is our favorite Safeway because the checkers are REALLY QUICK and friendly. It is a big store, not as big as the one in the Admiral District, but almost. We use the pharmacy, Nicole and Amy are really well-trained about pharmaceuticals. We use the Just For You discounts online and accumulate points toward discounts on gas. One time I saved seventy cents a gallon.

There weren't any baggers at noon on a friday so obviously lines were getting super backed up. I stood there and bagged for guests for a solid 20 minutes just to keep the line moving and I don't even work there. The food selection is always good though.

Often overpriced for the usual stuff with some sometimes decent baked goods. The easiest grocery store for lower queen anne and west belltown. It's like any other Safeway. Most things will be overpriced if not on sale. But if it is on sale, it's probably close to 50% off. Shopping here for major deals and then filling in with Trader Joe's is often a good choice. I would advise against shopping here for everything because TJ will be better and cheaper for many things. If you don't have a car and you're nearby, you can decide whether the bus ride to/from TJ is worth it over the convenience of Safeway.

I always have the check expiration dates carefully here because I've seen expired food (over a week expired) on the shelves on multiple occasions. They only have 3 checkout lanes that aren't express lanes, and there's not a whole lot of room for the lines for those registers, so it can get confusing as to who is in which line. Registers are often open with their lights off, which also gets confusing. On the plus side, they have a lot of sales and you can save even more with the Safeway app. It's a little annoying that you have to check the app and specifically mark the items to apply the coupon to your discount card.

NEVER AGAIN! I have been going to this store for several years and I have loved it. Last night I was shopping and I asked the manager if I could use the restroom (it's locked at night) She (ZOI) made it very clear that she was put out by being asked. She then told me my dog had to be taken outside. My dog is a service dog. she then went to a man and woman shopping with their dog and tried to throw them out as well. She was hostile, angry and rude. Her name is Zoi. There are too many other places to shop. I won't be going back there, and I don't think the other couple will be either.
