Reviews of Rising Sun Produce
Ivan Martinez
My very own farmer’s market across the street. The produce is colorful and delicious. You can find it open practically everyday! From your farm to my table. Monday - Friday 8am to 8pm.
Oralea Howard
I hope this place stays forever. We stop by weekly to fill up the fruit bowl and veg drawer. We often also grab wine, peanut butter, creamer… essentials! I send my daughter down on her own to pick out fruits for her breakfast and maybe grab a popsicle. It’s our very own corner store and I wish there was one in every neighborhood.
Joshua Kemp
Really nice place, small but wonderful selection of really nice produce and some corner store items. Great staff!!! Met the owner and he is an awesome guy who works in his stand and the handwork and love put into it shows.
Laini Ritsch
I don't write many Google reviews, but this place deserves it! Rising Sun has extremely fresh and local produce, as well as interesting beers, and sauces/condiments. This place has great prices for all produce. I can't imagine shopping for fruit/veg at Whole Foods again.
Erik Alvarado
Love shopping local produce with great prices! Worth the walk/drive wherever you are coming from.
Chiguay Ante
Love this little place. Great for a quick fruit or veggie pick up, also have trail mix, cider and energy drinks if you need that.
Andrew L
Big fan of rising produce!
I’ve started coming 1-2x a week to grab my produce and there’s always something fresh and locally sourced available. Employees are fast and friendly, not to mention the stand is never too crowded.
So glad I live close by!
Anna LA (BananaSquirrel)
I love this produce stand. They always have a wide selection of in-season fruits and vegetables and a lot of unique non-produce items. I found these Bugles there...a snack I haven’t had in ages. They also have a bargain table with fruits and veg that’s less than perfect, including over-ripe bananas, which I love for freezing for smoothies and baking. Friendly staff too.
Nathan S
Great produce, nice workers, and a decent selection of other foods and snacks. I have been coming here for long while, and this is my go-to fruit stand to get cherries in bulk. Very nice place overall
Michael Nolan
Wonderful prices on fresh, great produce. They don't have everything, but they have more than you'd think, and more good produce options than you'll find at krogeroids right now. Open air, clean, and open year-round. There's a ramp at the entrance and plenty of room to get around. The beer/wine selection is good, but it's not their main focus.
Hayley Siler
I adore rising sun produce, they always have good produce, I love the open air market. The workers are chill, there is free parking and usually there is some discount produce to pick through as well as a great selection of local beer, wine and cider ❤️
Tim Mitchell
Love this place. Glad to see it’s made it through all the years I been around here and can remember 30+ years? Used to be across the street but this new spot is better.
While the staff changes seasonally the owners definitely hire well and send out positive vibes.
They take suggestions on what to order, serve coffee, sell individual beer, have some grocery (so appreciated) and of course do veg and fruit. Just wish they had more logo merch! The public demands beanies with the bananas on it!
Keep up the great neighborhood work you do!

This place is great! I was pleasantly surprised by how much stuff they had available, from fun locally brewed beers to globally sourced wines, ghee, honey, BAKLAVA (yay!), and tons of produce, naturally. I found the non-dairy creamer for my coffee, some tomatillos (always happy to find), locally brewed seltzers (for my girlish figure), and so much more! If you need some meat this might not be the place, but come on...it's a PRODUCE shop. You don't come here for pork, you come here for plapples or pluots or pumpkins, or whatever vegetal delights your heart and brings joy to your soul.

A really unexpected find on my visit to Seattle. I was simply wandering the neighborhood I was staying in when I came across this gem.
Hailing from the East coast I am used to farm stands and this was like a farm stand in the city. Something of an oasis in the sand or in this case city if you will.
Produce looked good and fresh. Worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood.
Marshall Bender
I love this store! It’s my go-to for produce, but they offer a large selection of alcoholic drinks, dairy, dry goods, and even some sweets. Great local shop, prices are very reasonable, and the employees are nice. I’ll be back here - many times!
Shannon Adams
Rising sun is a great independent neighborhood produce and grocery with everything I needed on my last grocery trip. I went in to buy apples but found they had milk, eggs, a good selection of Middle Eastern goods and much, much more. It's open air on one side so also good for fresh air. The owner helped me load my grocery box into the car. Thank you!
Mariah Thomson
My go-to for produce when I can’t make it to the farmers market. It’s very affordable and they accept EBT. They have a bargain bin of produce past it’s peak for a discount. Family owned and kind staff.
Susanna Waldrop
Great spot! Love getting my produce and other goods from a small business. All the folks there are super nice. Thanks for being there!!
Diane Dean
Great produce, good selection and wonderful staff. The location is easy to find and there is always ample parking. There's an enclosed interior with partially open exterior walls still allowing the feeling of an open market. I am particularly fond of the selection of frozen fruit bars
Diane J.
Nice open air produce stand. Some prices are excellent oh, some prices not so good. For me it's always a stopping place when I'm in Seattle. I stock up on apples and oranges and sometimes pears and the person that works there is always helpful.
Ben O
They have really low prices on produce and a solid selection. I like to buy their red/yellow/orange peppers. They're often small, but very sweet and flavorful and usually priced at 2 for 1.50 or something very reasonable. Considering the only other grocery store near this place is a Whole Foods (AKA Whole Paycheck) this place is a godsend, considering their good quality and low prices.
Vincent Ouellet Jobin
The staff is super friendly and the produce are really affordable. I haven't seen prices as low for most produce in Seattle. There has been some issues (reported by other friends as well) as to some produce don't stay nice as long as maybe ones from the QFC. This being said, if you live in the neighborhood and get food only for a few days, this won't happen. They also have some useful items like milk, cheese and beer that are slightly pricier but nice if you're in a hurry (and it's not like it's cheaper at the nearby Whole Foods).
Joanne Merritt
Really wanted to like this place, as it's a more convenient way to get local produce than the farmer's market, but I've picked up some bad fruit there lately. Cherries were bruised and off tasting and a pricy watermelon was not sweet; apricots were mushy and plums were on the verge of over ripe. The vegetables I bought were okay and there was a small selection of snacks and dairy that was handy.
Kimberly Knowlton
Family owned and operated business selling local produce. I always feel like my dollar stretches more here than big chain stores. They also sell THE BEST packaged tortillas I can find in Seattle. Also locally made. I've stopped just for them. They're that good. The apple cider is good too. Around Christmas they sell Christmas trees. The only issue I've had in the past was with bell peppers that were bad inside. I probably should have looked closer, but if you come back with the receipt they'll swap them for you.
Dan Waller
Friendly staff, amazing produce (both in quality and price), and some unique non-produce food plus a great beer selection. Also, Seattle's dark horse for Christmas tree shopping.
Cœur Atypique
The seller was really nice, had a smile, in a good mood, so he made me feel good too ! Love how the food is presented ! Sales are good there, fruits are good too. You can also find lots of different type of food like itslian biscuits, wine's, beers or whatever ! I recommend there it was really nice I'll come back
Rob Miller
Best prices for produce in the area. Consistent quality and frequent sales. Sometimes you get something a little less than fresh but compared to Pike Place or something else, I rarely have any problems. Love this place.
Keith Gormezano
Prices aren't that much different than the big box grocery stores but the quality is slightly better. They have parking on the west side of the building and on NE 65th depending on the time of day. Located by a bus stop. I like to stop and get ripe bananas.
Colleen Collins
Love this place. No frills produce and other snacks. Very inexpensive and always deals on items. Great place to go when on a tight budget. Not much else to say except to go support them. The punk dudes that work there are super cool too.
Joseph Banham
It's a good place to go to pick up some fresh fruit or vegetables. I'm just not used to going to someplace for one thing. I still had to stop by the local grocery store to pick up the other ingredients i needed so I'm not sure it was worth the stop. The prices and fruit aren't that much better than you would find elsewhere.
Kevin Deffinbaugh
If your looking for Washington locally grown produce, this is the place. We just enjoyed Puyallup raspberries, first pick of the season, Ranier and Bing cherries, and many many more delightful produce treats. Very affordable best deals I've seen in the area.
nick bauer
Best prices for produce in the north end. If you are cool with picking through produce or don't mind bruised fruit, this is your place. If you want immaculate produce or organic choices, skip it.
AnnickGR
Where else but at Rising Sun could you buy produce by the twinkle of a disco ball? They're always so nice here (even when they're freezing through the winter) and I'm always surprised by items I find here.
Jesse Card
One of my favorite fruit stand in Seattle. Often have a good variety of seasonal fruit and an ever expanding packaged food and snack area.
Good dairy and beverage options, and the beers keep proliferating.
Ashley Senske
Awesome spot for produce. They also have milk and a variety of packaged foods and snacks as well. The staff is always super friendly, as well. Note, they have a three dollar card minimum.
Cecilia Fitzgerald-Cook
I found delicious Italian plums/prunes here yesterday for only $1.99/lb, and the bananas we got are delicious. I have some peaches to try too that are ripening, and they carry some surprises like milk!
Casey Beary Andersen
Love that we have a produce market in our neighborhood. Great variety of fruit and veggies. They also have cheese, eggs, spices and Beer!
Matt Blank
Great selection of fresh produce, snacks, sauces, local dairy, canned beer and cider. It's small and easy to navigate.
Flip Wood
Go for their local seasonal produce. Other items are okay, but spring berries, summer peaches, fall apples and pears make Rising Sun worth the trip!
cathyhammer
Love this place! Gave me a great price on a case of peaches this last summer. Has a hippie kinda vibe and I truly miss not having more places like it.
Taylor O'Brien
Always have ripe bananas on hand at dirt cheap prices. Sometimes $.09/lb!
They've got all the standard produce and some special items as well.
Scott Dover
Very good prices and a great selection of produce. They have beer and wine, and assorted tortillas, breads and nuts.
Jonathan Johnson
Always friendly local stand. They have some organic stuff, hopefully more will come in, but you can't beat the price for conventional produce!
Ian Zander
Great fruit, great prices. You must try the frozen fruit bars. They are worth going for all on their own.
Ryan McAllister
Great prices, pretty much all the produce you’re looking for, friendly people.
Debra Pearson
I enjoy shopping for local goods at reasonable pricing and with excellent service.

It's a good place I went to a few other stands and this particular fruit stand is a little too high so I'll stop going
Jeff Brown
A great little corner store for fresh produce, fruits and also other little snacks.
Monte Hoover
Family run grocery stand that has been selling produce from local suppliers for decades. Definitely stop by and see if it's not more pleasant buying groceries this way.
Jess Gaylord
Local produce, local business and great prices! They also carry great coffee and excellent snacks and accept EBT!
Talia Escandar
A childhood classic, still offering a nice selection of affordable fruits and veggies. And some helpful sides: cheese, nuts and sundries, etc.
Sharon Wilson
Why aren’t your employees wearing face masks as requested by WA DoH? Please do so to keep your employees and customers safer.
