Reviews of District H
Ritika Rao
Reviewing the food service only. Tried their veggie bibimbap. The quantity is excellent, easily serves two if you have a small dessert or side. They serve it in a stone bowl so if you wait a bit for it to cool, the rice develops this delicious crust. I would say they should add sesame oil by default, I had to ask for some. And they could add more veggies/protein.

Pretty happy with the options here. I had to be mindful of the different items I put in my cart. Some items were reasonably priced while others were very expensive. Overall, the place is very clean and the staff is super sweet. I wish there were more food stations! Also, I was trying to find the Bim Bim Bop hours online, but couldn’t really find much.
*edit updating to a 3 star. I tried to order sushi from the bar station, but I was told sushi closes at 5:30, after being told it was open until 7. Then, I tried to order the chicken, but I was told I had to go up and grab the chicken that had been sitting out - and they didn’t have the flavor I wanted. My review of the bar: it would be nice to have hours posted that were honored. Hours aren’t posted and the bar doesn’t stay open even when told it is. My review of the chicken: I wouldn’t get it again. It’s very dry and hard - to the point that I couldn’t tell if I was biting into bone or chicken. Please invest in staff to keep the hot bars open. I know that’s a big ask, but people will come if they open!

This District H isn't a huge grocery store but does carry a good amount of Asian food, ingredients and snacks, mainly Korean, Japanese and Chinese. I got some dumplings, a box of miso, and some snacks. Awesome to have an Asian store in the city center (and next to Whole Foods so I can do my grocery shopping in one trip)! The store is clean and nicely stocked and the service is friendly.
C Sellers
Great place to visit for Korean food and supermarket foods. The food k6 seafood bibimbop was $13.99 k3 seafood spicy soup $9.99. Large portions
jade
Store is super clean, and there’s a pretty good selection of staple Korean ingredients/food. Note that you could get these same items at a more affordable price at other Korean stores.

This rating is based on the food from the food court and bakery (tous les jours). The shoyu ramen was amazing, such a flavorful broth with good quality toppings and the pork was juicy tender with a little amount of fat that melts in your mouth. The beef bibimbap was super hot, with just the right amount of crunchy rice (make sure you keep mixing or it’ll burn) and a large portion of beef inside ! The price for the ramen was 11.99 which is lower than other ramen places in the seattle area, and for the serving size it’s more than worth it. Definitely surprised of how good this ramen was because it’s better than other ramen places that I’ve tried. The bakery is also reallly good, a little on the pricier side but the quality of the bakery items is high. The market itself has good ready made food (go after 7pm for 20% off!) but a lot of basic grocery items are expensive. A good stop for Asian snacks/alcohol/grocery related items that aren’t available at other markets. Would recommend giving the restaurant inside a definite try💗
Theasha G
Accessible and well stocked Asian grocery store. Their prepared meals are quite good and if you’re in a hurry and hungry, make for great grab and go meals. Their fried chicken, kimchi fried rice and pork belly don hot meals are our regular picks. I would recommend getting the fried chicken freshly prepared at their hot bar, but the hot bar times are inconsistent.
James Lee
Try Samkyubsal Dutbab with Jin Ramen for your casual lunch! You can taste authentic color of K food at affordable price^^ 6/22/2022 Update: it still tastes fine but more rice needs to fill up the box.7/21/2022 Try seasoned Durdock at $2.99 with rice! You will get enough strength under this hotty weather!
Ramon Mendez
Dude this place has lots of great food stuffs.
Came in to buy a beer and something to munch on ended up spending like 100 dollars in stuff hahahaha love the shrimp chips. Love the Japanese pastries with bean paste. Dude. Just go visit. Trust me.
Charlie Irons
OMG! For grab-and-go Asian style meals this place is tops for price and variety. Don't forget to visit the bakery for a super gourmet treat. And do some shopping; lots of fun and tasty discoveries to be made!
Joshua Walther
Rare culinary W for SLU. Delicious ramen and a great portion for your money. Lots of amazing food throughout the grocery as well. Cute shop with decent prices and tasty ramen. I've already been back again.
Benjamin Black
Best Asian store I've ever been in. Clean, nice staff, ramen shop inside, bakery inside, and tons of mochi, Pocky, bao, etc that you'd expect in a grocery. I highly recommend the garlic, ham, and cheese bread at the bakery. Definitely coming back here.
Simon Tan
Quite conflicted about this place - on the one hand, love the concept and the food stalls were absolutely fantastic (get the bibimbap in a stone pot for sure). But the actual grocery store was quite lacking in freshness and variety.
Amy Li
Love this place!! We no longer have to go to Uwajimaya for Asian groceries!!
This is essentially a mini version of H-mart.
They carry a variety of produce for Asian cuisine (good veggie and fruit selection), Korean condiments (some Chinese, some Japanese too), lots of good snacks and instant noodles!! Meat section is smaller but good enough if you want to eat hot pot at home.
The pre-cooked foods were tasty!
We had tried various bentos as well as the fried stuff - yum!!
They have indoor seating so you can enjoy your food while it’s fresh and hot! I saw grilled station, dumpling station and kimbap. They also have ordering systems on the right side of the main entrance.
So happy District H finally opened!!
Justin
I always regret getting produce here, just not very fresh. End up having to throw away a bit. Their cooked food is pretty good though and have a good selection of noodles and other asian specialties
B.S.C.
Nice Korean grocery store AND fresh made to order food court. The store is bigger than it looks from the outside. They don't have the WIDEST variety of things, but they do have LOTS of options for particular foods - like noodles, kimchi, rice, spices etc. The fresh food "court" is really nice with a grill station, a dumpling station, a bakery, and a bibimbap station. It was very clean and well organized.
Diana
Tasty food, great variety, convenient location. Have been here three times this week, for breakfast, lunch and dinner - every time I leave, I see something else I want to try next time! The front is a large grab & go section, and further back are the grocery store aisles and the ordering stations for hot food (bibimbap, Korean short ribs, beef dumplings). There's an industrial-looking seating area for the hot food, and then in the back is a RIDICULOUS French/Asian bakery, with cream puffs and macarons, but also sesame red bean balls and sweet potato cakes. The whole space is pretty compact (like they fit an entire Uwajimaia into a quarter of the space), and if you're looking for something light or filling, cheap or expensive, healthy or deliciously decadent, you can find it quickly here. Glad that District H has come to South Lake Union!
sejin seo
Super clean and neat! There's bakery shop inside of District H called Tous Les Jours, they have really cute and tasty cakes options. I tired bother caramel mocha buttercream cake and dark chocolate ganache. Those were freshly made and pleasantly sweet(not too sweet).
JP
I love this store. It has just enough of everything neatly organized inside a small space so that I don't need to head to Federal Way or Lynnwood.
Tom Wilson
This grocery store is focused on Asian food and drinks. It has also cooked food section for Asian food. It has some basic American items such as cola. Unfortunately prices are really high for a large supermarket. For example same size coca cola is 2.41 USD here but it is 2.10 in Bartell Drugs. Although Bartell is a convenience store, it is cheaper.
Tosha Stevens
The bakery in District H is absolutey amazing! The pastries are A1 and the Ramen is the best I've ever had. 10/10 - Highly Recommend
David Ta
Great if you need Asian groceries but it does feel limited. For example if you want to get Ginseng root, you can't find it here.
John Chen
It’s nice to have an Asian grocery store in downtown. Loses a star for overpriced groceries and items are frequency expired.
Jiajun Peng
The grill is great. I tasted the squid with kimchi fried rice. I would recommend they have a separate menu only for kimchi fried rice. It was so delicious.
L Mau
Love! Inhaled my bulgogi Kim bop. A lot of grab and go options. Don't forget a drink too.
Lori Pak
Had luck on my side and was able to get street parking right next to the h district building where hmart is in. Looked around, smaller than usual but quaint and enough room to house many different area for eating. Ordered eel and rice bowl and some fried oysters to share. Also tried kimchi and veggie jun and last we tried kwabegi and red bean pastry. The kwabegi tasted like a donut not made of rice flour, which is a shame but still ate some with coffee.
Barbara Porter
This place is full of a wide array of Asian products. The staff was very helpful and more than wiilling to answer my wide range of questions. The produce was limited today, Sunday, late in the afternoon but the snap peas I bought were spot on. I will certainly go back.
Sean
Love the hot food section, and the variety of ramen + chips. Great vibe.
Hem Hazarika
Centrally located.Easily avaliable all domestic goods.one can select items at his/ her own choices. If fish/ meat are made available it will enhance its quality.
L T
Made to Order Korean BBQ, some fresh vegetables and fruits, packaged meat, Asian pantry items.
Stanley L
Good selection of groceries and lunch boxes (bento).
After 5pm, there would be discounts for the bentos. I would recommend the Kalbi bento here.
Shane Pugmire
The restaurant in here serves the best beef bibimap I’ve ever had!
Ruenom
Cool place to buy lots of Asian food
Rodrigo Dias
a great place! I finally found golden curry! Great price too
Bri Gaudett
Super fun store with a mix of groceries, prepared food, and a restaurant to order from. We enjoyed the food we got here as well as all the groceries we tried
Isaiah Grose
Super convenient location, and had a great selection of pre made banchan. Also, the instant tteokbokki was delicious (extra spicy version😋) …
Ruth RH
sushi, sashimi, poke...this is my go-to place. I am so excited that I found this place. The fish is always fresh and the service is amazing. I am going to sit still for a year in Seattle and this will be my place. They also have the typical Asian noodles, which I haven't bought here yet, but I know I will. Fresh produce is also available and looks terrific. Oh, and Asian pastries...I just can't wait to load up on those as well. This is a great find right in the heart of Seattle and a stone's thrown from Whole Foods.
NAMAN BANATI
Korean store with a wide variety. Frozen Indian food also available here.
Karen Lee
Great quick grab n go for lunch at a great price. Due to the pandemic, a lot of restaurants and food trucks closed in SLU/downtown so District H has become my new go-to for lunch! Great hot bar food area.
fiame kupa
The H....
Enter a world of possibility and food variety. Great Korean and Asian grocery, hot food, ramen, and baked items.
Not to be confused with H Mart this chillin urban spot next to the Seattle Times is very cool. Made more for eaters, grazers, and c-store vibes than the big H.
Khoder Wassouf
Been living near District H for 2 years, has always been my go-to for any Asian style grocery shopping, that and there's decent dine-ins there that are definitely worth a try.
Roger Lee
Great place for Korean spice and frozen food. You can find a great selection of tofu and meat there. They also offer thinly sliced beef & pork that is not available in Wholefoods which is just right across the street. A good complement to Wholefoods.
Jorge Porras
Incredible selection of drinks, snacks, and food at acceptable prices. If you're craving a specific drink or snack you'll probably find it here.
Jefrey Quiroz
I have been going here recently to avoid the long waits at Whole Foods.
It is always clean and the employees are very helpful and friendly.
They have a variety of different Asian foods that you will not find at Whole Foods.
Their lunch hot bar has delicious and healthy options.
Di Ash
I went there randomly during their soft opening. I got the short rib meal. It was bomb. I wish it had more sauce or something on it but I like that its made to order fresh on the grill. It's a decent size meal so you are gonna have leftovers. The other sections are pretty cool. They have a bakery area with a tone of delicious pastries and cakes. I had to definitely resist buying one of everything.
Michelle Eisley
A good selection of what you'd find at a larger H Market. Might not be the best spot for looking for niche Korean ingredients. Friendly staff, haven't tried any of the food stations yet, but love the fact they have the bakery for tasty treats and bread.
J L
Such a well stocked store, I'm seriously impressed! I usually got my food from Kai's but Kai's is OOC for the moment. But still District H delivers. Their sushi verity needs work but they're very diverse in their food products.
Jen H.
Great service at the hot prepared foods counter; recommend trying the fried oysters. Medium sized French-Asian Fusion bakery with wide selection of visually appealing goods. Grilled meats and fresh dumpling bars with seating area. Convenient location in SLU. Good for small grocery needs and eat now options.
Eponymous X
If you have celiac DO NOT EAT ANY SUSHI, SASHIMI, OR POKE FROM HERE. They use soy sauce that isn't gluten free in their arame seaweed salad, which comes with pretty much everything even the salmon sashimi, and you WILL be exposed to gluten through cross contamination. No take-out food item from here is gluten-free. Otherwise, they have a decent selection of Ramune sodas and rice/red bean mochi, which are of course gluten-free.
Kanchan Jagannathan
District H is a decent place for a quick food pick-up. They have a limited selection of lunch options - about 5 or so. I had the salmon bowl which had a small chunk of salmon with some white rice and a few grilled veggies. If one is looking for a hearty portion, then they would be looking to spend about $18 plus taxes. They also have a good selection of Asian groceries for people looking for grocery options
Matthew C
This place is pretty cool. It will be a great lunch spot. I love the ordering system for food. However it'd be great to be able to self checkout some non food items too like kimchi sides. I tried the kimchi dumplings; they were large and juicy. You get four per order.
Also there is a Tous Les Jour also in this location for some great pastries and snacks.
Alan Lo
Great place for your quick Korean food fix and to do a little grocery shopping. This is a fancier version of Hmart and they do have limited amount of groceries. This places has different food stations such as grill station, and quick premade foods. Personal favorite is the bim bim bop. Good size and quantity for price
Joe N
Phenomenal store in a great location. They have excellently priced, good quality produce and just about every item you would hope to find at an Asian market. The hot food is really good! Lots of thought was put into the store layout.
G P
District H was a new experience for me. Combination of groceries, state of the art order process for made on the spot Asian Fusion, dine in or to go options...and the Price is Right for “steps away from Amazon” dining. Great food, service and choices. Get in early!
bao nguyen
Great selection of ready to go food and groceries. Security on duty the entire time and very friendly staff. Clean store. Overall fantastic experience
Maria Davila
Fun! Well stocked with a variety of Asian products including ready-made items such as sushi, soups and chicken. Perfect for the students in the neighborhood.
Samantha Smiley
Allways great for food any time of day.
Prashant R
Quite a gem in downtown Seattle, especially when you need some quick Korean food fix including some awesome fried chicken and poke bowls!! Pity that Downtown Seattle is not so crowded anymore but I can see this be filled up in normal times
Diana Tran
Thank God they built one in SLU because I was busing all the way to U District to go to H-Mart and it’s nothing compared to like the one in Austin 😭.
This H-Mart (District H) is definitely a more hip and boujee H-Mart to cater to a younger crowd. There are a lot of To-Go lunch options and are comparable in price to other places around SLU.
The meats available for KBBQ here are really good and there’s a bigger variety than U-District. They have literally every Asian sauce imaginable, the place is really clean, check out lines are really fast and the people working there are super nice!
Zack deCarle
Seriously SO tasty. Got the NOICE stamp of approval 👍👍 …
Keri Ding
Love the hot food selection. Great for lunch and quick dinner. Kimbaps are made fresh to order. Although there are lines during busy lunch time it moves pretty quickly.
Roman
Great place, you can find a LOT here
Tom Deus
Good supply of Asian food ingredients. Some produce is fresh, but some is old. Pretty reasonable alternative to Chinatown if you live in SLU.
Angela Clark
I stop by here a lot to grab food, and I especially love the bakery downstairs. They have a lot of quick meals for lunches and so many great snacks. Also the staff is very friendly.
Leslie Wright
District H was clean, with an abundance of Asian products, the produce was reasonably priced and the whole little food court atmosphere I know is welcomed by the neighborhood and it's a place that you can hang out for an hour or two
David White
Very organized and spread out. Brightly lit. Was here during Covid-19 but looks like they have dine in and hot/cold items or more of a convience section for quick in and outs. Oh and the tags in the shelves are in English so if you don't know what you are looking for its a nice discover time.
Brad Ramey
Pros: Great selection, great prices, lounge area
Cons: no internet for lounge, don't ask staff about internet
tim mickol
Yummy. Wasabi conch and periwinkle soup.
Stacy J
One of my favorite Asian food stores. Every time we come here, it’s a feast for the eyes. So many cool things to pick from.
Stephanie Ho
A good to-go market in SLU, they also have Tour les jour bakery inside the store.
Francisca González Cohens
It has plenty of products! From different parts of the world, mainly from Asia, like China, Korea and Japan. The prices are pretty good, and you can find everything you need. It also has food to take out.
Brunie Antoine
Honestly my favorite place for lunch while I'm working. Tons of healthy options and fresh hot made to order food. The even have a bakery and sell produce.
Barbara S
Clean, easy to navigate store. Friendly staff. Great selection of Asian groceries.
ZengSha
Has all the essentials you'll need, very clean, not too crowded like other small hmarts I've been to.
Joseph Keyes
Great quick lunch options (bowls, bento boxes, dumplings, etc) with the benefit of an attached grocery. The bakery is outstanding as well
sy 31
I wish there was one here in mn. Sad to leave it. Great store with groceries and hot food.
Diana Lee
Love having a Korean market nearby! They have most things I want and love the premade food selection.
Kesh Karan
A bit small store, but they have most of the basic Asian items. Happy hour place outside looks like a good place for happy hour with friends and coworkers.
Derrick Pyle
Smaller than an H-mart but if you need snacks or lunch it's a valid option. Get a don or maybe the kimchi dumplings.
Pao Vasquez
Few but great selections on Asian products. Also love the ambience
Michael Ly
Small Korean grocery store that’s in a very convenient location
Sasikanth Nagalla
The chicken meals are great value
Alan J (AJ)
Nice place. Clean. Swing by before 12 to avoid lunch rush. It's super crowded after 12. Had Ramen from noodle bar and it was amazing.
Shaozhen Zhang
Plenty of choices of fresh vegies, meats and Asian snacks, fast inventory turnover. Also appreciated all the proper social distance precautions being made here.
Henry Teaford-Boldridge
Really loved the selection of groceries as well as the deli. The fried chicken was excellent
Gavin Reub
Amazing to have a Korean market near by. Is it a bit expensive? Sure, but its close and easy to access, so what ya gonna do?

The spot to hit up instead of Whole Foods. Faster, cheaper and very friendly. ALSO GREAT SNACKS!

100 times better than H Mart in UW.
There is a bar where you can eat Korean-style lunch, so many Amazonians come for lunch.
The size of the store is larger in downtown and has a wider variety of items.

(Translation) Boss, I'll leave it in Korean!
I work nearby, so I go there often. I thought it would be good to improve a few things, so I'll leave a comment!
1. I think the kimbap you order yourself is too big. I just bought it and ate it, and it all burst because there were too many ingredients inside. I think it would be better to reduce the size a little and lower the price. H Mart and other food courts sell them for $8 in two rows of smaller sizes. It tastes good, but it's too big and it's expensive compared to bibimbap or something like that.
2. Looking at my foreign friends around me, there are a lot of kids who are interested in Korean food and want to try some things. I was hesitant to buy ice cream because it was sold only in large units. The unit price is right, and if possible, if you mix them all together like in Korea and sell them for one or two like this, I think they will sell much better!
3. At UW Korean Mart, the vegetables were not fresh, so it was a little bit like that, but here they seem to care a lot! I hope you continue to do so.
That's it. It's so good to have a Korean mart nearby! Thrive :)
