Reviews of The Original French Market Restaurant and Bar

We just finished a long walking tour and was so hungry! I came upon this spot and am sure glad that I did! My 1st time trying green fried tomatoes and baked oysters! Something I would Never try and let me tell you, Very Yummy! The Alligator po boy was super good and, of course, was a Must. The shrimp was perfect! Everything overall was great. Our 1st time to New Orleans and had a Blast. Hopefully, I will be able to visit again in the future.
* Server was really nice, although once it started to get busy, we had to wait a bit which is expected, but we were already finishing up, so that was a plus.

Came here for my husband's birthday dinner with family, we waited a bit but not a crazy amount of time. The service was good, the server did disappear towards the end for a bit and one of my drinks was not good but everything else was delicious! The food was super fresh and it had good amount of flavors. The place is spacious with plenty of seat and good AC!

While this is a famous restaurant located a few steps away from Jackson Square we were very impressed from the moment we walked in. Our food was absolutely to die for. As we are not big seafood fans we did not try the crawfish looked and smelled out of this world. I can confirm that their Jambalaya is one of the greatest tastes I have ever experienced. Staff were friendly and there was a busy upbeat and electric atmosphere. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that I felt the prices were slightly high versus the portion size but in truth we probably should have just ordered more wonderful creole cuisine. Will definitely return on our next trip to NOLA.

Great restaurant and loved the atmosphere. We stopped in and were seated outside on the balcony. Our waiter was Miles and we enjoyed our visit. We ordered gumbo, catfish platter, char boiled oysters, the seafood platter, and 2 kids popcorn shrimp. The food came out hot and tasty. The serving sizes were huge. We will most definitely be back.

Excellent, friendly service here! The shrimp and grits I had was definitely worth trying but I did try superior versions elsewhere in New Orleans. One note is that you cannot split bills between party members, which is useful to know before you go! It’s also good to be prepared for very seafood-heavy flavors, which could be a positive or a negative depending on what you like! My paradise island cocktail was very good :)

Went here with my wife and had a very nice lunch. Our server was great. The food was very good. We started off with Fried Green Tomatoes. I had never had them before, I loved them. They were excellent! My wife had the fried shrimp platter, and it was good as well. I had the blackened catfish. The seasonings and flavor were terrific. I will be going back the next time we are in Nola.

Food was definitely delicious! The crawfish was but small, it will be nice if it was little bit bigger size.
Must get the oyster! From raw or cooked. Both of them is fresh.
The swamp platter was good too. You get to try all different type of stew. From gator meat, shrimp, and sausage.
Price was decent too. I definitely will recommended this place if you want to give a try.

Ok this was some good catfish, shrimp, and French fries, my hush puppies were a little dry, but still had a good flavor. Very good meal, my server was a little distracted, I asked twice for extra napkins. Usually when your server sees you when they walk by they think of what you have asked for and go get it…well not this time. I would dine here again though simply because the food was good and I know service can always be better. (Or worst)😩Cost a little over $30 with a soft drink including taxes and $1 because I paid with card. After my tip just under $40.

Always a "must stop here" location! Have been coming here every time we're in NOLA (9 times in the last 10 years). They have THE best grilled oysters and freshly shucked on the half shells. Our server this time was Nicole (in the pic) and she was amazing. Prices are fair and they have a really good Bloody Mary as well.
Stephanie Thi
Delicious food, especially the gumbo and oysters. We would come back here again. It has a cute atmosphere at the corner of the strip.
The wait staff was friendly and prompt. They did forget a couple things but it worked out in our favour since we ordered with our eyes!

Best food we've had while in NOLA! The Garlic and Herb Chargrilled Oysters are a must!!! We also loved the shrimp boil, fresh oysters, and fried green tomatoes. Our server Astrid was exceptional and a joy to talk to. Great food and awesome service!!!
Tammy Broussard
This little restaurant has the best blackened catfish I ever tasted. All of our dishes were fresh and well seasoned. The service was fabulous. Im not sure if still mandatory but they were asking for covid vaccination proof before entering.
Lynn Werkheiser
The food was delicious and decently priced. I got the crawfish boil and charbroiled oysters with garlic & herb aioli. I highly recommend the charbroiled oysters. They were positively divine!
Our service was mediocre. It took 20 minutes for our drink order to get taken and 45 minutes to get the check after we ate. It was pretty busy but our server just kept standing near the kitchen talking to other staff instead of watching his tables. Other servers seemed to be pretty on point though. We'll definitely be back for the food!

What an experience! We came to New Orleans mainly to try some authentic Nola food and man was I impressed! Our 4 year old even loved his fried catfish. Our waitress (Sweets) was phenomenal! It looked like she was serving the entire restaurant when we first got there but she made time somehow to serve everyone and go out of her way to make everyone feel special and hold conversations with each table. She was extremely kind and fun interacting with our 4 year old. He had been couped up in a car for most of the day so he was a little wild and crazy lol but she played along with his craziness and let him "box" with her. This restaurant really has gems when it comes to their staff.
The only down side is that the portions are a little smaller than I expected, I had an appetizer and a boil and was still hungry afterwards, but I didn't want to buy another entree.
I would definitely eat here again!
meagan “MJ” james
We had a female bartender and she was great. The food came piping hot and was seasoned perfectly. It's good for small groups. We sent our waiter back and forth alot but he was patient and all around nice.
Cathlene Antczak
As a solo traveler, I chose a seat at the bar. The bartender was very attentive and friendly, without being overbearing.
I had the jambalaya and a Voodoo Moon cocktail, which were both excellent. The jambalaya was dry, not saucy—just what I was hoping for. Though it was a bit lacking in chicken, the sausage was delicious.
My only complaint would be that the place could use a good cleaning; cobwebs on the glass rack above the bar made me very happy that my drink was served in a plastic container.

I’m a local here in New Orleans I’ve lived here all my life. Recently had family visiting took them on a tour of New Orleans and went to the original French market for lunch. We had muffaletta’s boiled shrimp gumbo bloody Mary’s and mimosas. Had a great time, listening to live jazz, and the service was excellent.
We’d like to personally think Leonard, for making our visit an exceptionally special one he took the time to make sure all of our needs were met. He definitely deserves a raise.
Thanks, Leonard
Samantha Philip
Visited here while on vacation and the food was delicious and the service was amazing. My husband and I had a great experience and would highly recommend. Definitely a place I would visit again anytime I’m back in town.
Vazir Fatehi
Great service and great food. Take the recommendations from your host and you will not be disappointed. We had the oysters platter and shrimp etouffle, definitely recommend the Cheescake for dessert if your stomach has the space for it.
Michael McWilliams
Food was plentiful and delicious! You won't leave hungry. We had fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, then fried catfish and red beans and rice. Would definitely come back!
J B
Loved the atmosphere here at this historic site. The smell of the boil from the sidewalk is mouthwatering! We sat on the balcony and enjoyed the view as we tried some fabulous po boys...I highly recommend the popcorn shrimp!
Samantha Fernandes
Best restaurant in the French Quarter! Don't bother with all the other crazy waiting lines with mediocre food.
The food here was so delicious, we went twice during our 1week stay. The staff were also so friendly. Our favorites on the menu were the crawfish boil, crawfish bisque, chargrilled oysters, bayou platter, seafood platter, and the white chocolate bread pudding. Pretty much anything you order at this restaurant is amazing!
mircea stoica
Great place to have a break from exploring the French Quarter and have a nice, authentic meal. We got a Bayou Platter (Red beans w/ rice, Jambalaya, Shrimp Maque Choux) and Fried Catfish w/ red beans and rice. And a Vampire Bloody Mary ( or something like that lol). Everything was really good. The waitress was extremely friendly, sweet and helpful. The waiting time was decent. Highly recommended place. Well deserved 5 stars.
Isabel Keddy-Hector
This place was delicious! We ordered the oysters, green tomatoes and the combo platter. Carl took great care of us and made it a fun and memorable time. This is our second time here and we'll definitely come back!
Laura Carmer
So I got the blackened catfish with green beans, roasted potatoes, and a stuffed crab. I wished I had a while bother plate of it. Every bit of it was delicious. Seasoned and cooked to perfection. Got a Louisiana Lemonade which was very yummy. It's definitely going on me list of places to eat at again when I go back.
Amanda Anderson
Not knowing where to eat we stepped inside. Everyone of our 5 people found something they liked and cleaned their plate. We got green fried tomatoes (amazing), catfish platter (delicious), jambalaya (so good), and a burger (fantastic). The server was chill and cool. Place was clean and comfortable. I would go back to eat
Asia Farmer Moore
Absolutely delicious food! My husband ate the catfish and shrimp seafood platter and I had the catfish and shrimp poboy. We also shared some of the best jambalaya in the French Quarter hands down! Check this place out folks!
Brittney K
We love this place. We try to stop every time we visit New Orleans. Everything is always so good! The seafood gumbo, jambalaya and alligator sausage were all delicious. Will definitely keep coming back. Victor was a rockstar server and so friendly!
Jordan Blackwill
Very friendly and personable service! Our waitress seemed more like an old friend than an employee. The crawfish bisque was my second favorite dish in New Orleans. Absolutely amazing! The boiled crawfish was good and that was the reason I went there but the bisque really took the prize.
Michelle Neisler
The food was amazing and the staff was wonderful and very friendly. I would recommend and I will definitely come back.
Char grilled oysters, grilled blackened chicken and a trio platter of red beans with sausage, jambalaya and shrimp maque choux.
Steve Hajec
The pasta was delicious, our server Asante was amazing, and the perfect balance of attentive and friendly. The resturant was well kept and the seating was comfortable. Don't change a thing. Also, feel free to send me the recipe for your seafood pasta. 😋
Dian Nusantari
There was no wait when we came on Thursday night (Easter weekend). The place was crowded and lively but the service was fast. People seem to come here for the oysters and crawfish. The food was solid. My companion is a vegetarian and his vegetarian pasta was great and flavorful. Highly recommended!
Grace Su Ming
Very friendly staff. Large menu. A few vegetarian options. Balcony seating option. Portion sizes smaller than average plates I've seen in NOLA.
Fried green tomato- 6.5/10 - sauce yummy but made the tomato soggy
Mac n cheese - 6/10 - good basic mac n cheese, nothing special about it, portion kind of small and thin layer of noodles
Jambalaya - 7/10 - good not extraordinary, portion size is smaller
Amanda Davis
I dont eat oysters, but the folks I dined with said they were the best. Great service, food was excellent, and I enjoyed the ambience! New Orleans has some truly awesome old buildings to check out
Mars Parker
I got the blackened catfish which was seasoned and tasty. The vegetables were great too. This place is perfect to get blackened fish. The fried green tomatoes were also good. I would definitely come back.
Kendrick Sinegal
Food was really good, service wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. I had the swamp platter it was ok, nothing spicy but really good flavors. The corn machoux wasn't good in my opinion, but I've had better machoux in school when I was a kid. I would definitely come back and try some boiled crawfish during season.
yourfavRN
Soooooooo good! I was in N’Awlins heaven!! This place is a MUST! We ordered the fried green tomatoes, shrimp etouffé, red beans and rice with a piece of fried catfish. I literally could’ve ate here everyday. And i can’t forget to mention about the friendliness of the staff and how hard they worked. I thank each and every one of them that made my visit fantastic! God bless you all kings and queens!
Michael Hargrave
Excellent service and food just as fabulous! The oysters were perfectly plump and delicious. The chicken tenders seemed a little anaemic but tasted great. The green beans were something special. Overall a fantastic dining experience.
Madilyn
The best dinner I have in NOLA!!!
5 🌟 all for the crawfish!!!!! unbelievably and unexpectedly delicious!!!! I had 2 pound at first and add another pound.
Oyster, pasta and sandwich are ok.
Gina Anderson
This restaurant is absolutely delicious!! Great food with great service! It was so good my picky daughter wanted it twice during our visit. She was sold on the crab cakes with that lovely crawfish sauce. It was the right amount of bread to crab ratio and perfect portions. I had the fried catfish which was fried to perfection the first time and a shrimp po boy with nice crispy bread. My sister had red beans and rice which were seasoned to New Orleans style liking. Highly recommend and super kid friendly!! Shoutout to Victor n Ms. Sweetie for the best service during our trip!
chase clark
Super great seafood cooked just right. Greta flavor and popping shrimp. Came here three years back and it was as good today as it was then. Will absolutely visit again.
Eric Moyers
Best meal yet while visiting NOLA. Wife got crab cakes with Crawfish crème Sauce. It was incredible. In addition, a side fresh house Salad w/ grilled shrimp. I had char grilled Oysters w/Garlic, butter, herbs… which were the best I’ve EVER HAD! A Po’Boy w/ fried shrimp… only complaint was PoBoy didn’t come with Remoulade?? I asked for side of crawfish crème Sauce which garnished it perfectly. ( For an additional $6.00😑) Wife got a Bloody Mary which she thought was straight Clamato juice…. She couldn’t even taste vodka at all….So the Bloody Mary not so good, but the food was awesome. Even if the Po’Boy needed a condiment of sorts.
Regina Nelson
This was a gem of a restaurant. They sealed our visit. Every restaurant in the market did not have oysters, and I was disappointed. We smelled the fragrances of a seafood boil coming from this place, went in, and they had oysters. I was able to get my oyster po-boy, and it did not disappoint. Our waitress was attentive and served us promptly. Thanks for satisfying our tongue pallet .
Original Sin
Had an awesome server who recommended the seafood Cajun paste...SOOOOOO GOOD & the fried pickles!!! Definitely going to revisit, causey friend who's a celebrity chef HIGHLY recommended the baked oysters
Mike Caldwell
Food is fantastic.
Got the Seafood Boil.
Amazing..first time eating crayfish.
Definitely a must stop place to eat in New Orleans
Melissa Sharp
Great atmosphere and amazing food!! Our waiter was very helpful and pleasant. Will definitely visit again
Angela Holtgard
Victor was fantastic! Super friendly and knowledgeable with tips of area attractions. The food was amazing! Crawfish bisque was creamy and decadent. The gumbo was better than any I have tried in the past. Flavors were amazing and we will be going back. Highly recommend!
Jeffrey Simmons
Came here after a walking tour. The gumbo was cooking by the front window all afternoon. Every part of this Cajun meal was very good.
Bob Smith
Our finest meal of the trip! Catfish, oysters, fried shrimp, barbqued shrimp, crab, corn, potatoes, sausage, onion rings, fries! Wow! All to die for! Put it on your must do list, you won't be sorry! Plus great service from Angelo!
Saranya Bhattcharya
Food was good but the service was pretty bad. It was slow and not responsive at all. Also, the place is a bit dirty. The location is close to the French Market which is great for mid shopping food
Kaitlyn Setter
Oysters are to die for as was the crawfish bisque! We got oysters char-grilled and Rockefeller and we preferred the first. Crawfish bisque was one of my favorite dishes of our trip. We also got the Fried Green Tomatos - 10/10 must try. Seems like you can't go wrong with anything on the menu!
Ecc Lunar Eccalyptus
I was very pleased with the COVID-19 regulations and cleaness of this location! You just need to show proof of vaccination and they let you right in. As a vegan I thought I couldn't eat here but I managed. If you are vegetarian I suggest ordering the veggie burger 🍔, comes with the best seasoned fries I had in a long time. The fried green tomatoes where amazing as well, and the sweet potato fries. If you are vegan ordering the veggie burger just ask for no cheese or mayo and they are cool with it. If you are into the history of new Orleans this building has been around for over 200 years or so of I'm not mistaken. The prices are also cheaper compared to the other restaurants around. Good for lunch/dinner time if you don't have much cash.
Naudia Griffin (Monique)
Staff was extremely loud talking with one another while we dined. The food was just okay. I think the price was too much for the quality of the food. Our waitress was great. She was very helpful and attentive.
Ann Hathaway
Food was great! We loved the alligator poboy, crabcakes, and crawfish. Service was slow but our server was very friendly and did keep checking in on us.
Walt Cofer
Great fried catfish and jambalaya. Also the best fried tomatoes. This is a great restaurant option in the French Market area.
Daria Wright
Amazing place, with delicious food and very nice people! Reggi was our server for tonight and she was very sweet and attentive. Definitely recommend this place to everyone who is looking for some amazing seafood!!
Brian Porter
During our most recent visit on June 22, 20222, the crawfish, shrimp, crab legs, with the potatoes corn, and sausage boils were excellent. Big Thanks to Gator for cooking and preparing everything to perfection.
Christin D'Ovidio
Overall: once inside, it was fun, and the food was ok. As a diner, I did have health & safety concerns. The alive seafood is clearly fresh. The low boil water, maybe not so much. There is no AC, there is a side window to order drinks at from the street while you wait for a long time (for no clear reason), but it isn't allowed anymore, it certainly lets in the flys however....in fact, a trip to the bathroom (up 3 flights of stairs) was so horrifying that I had to talk myself back into a false sense of security by only eating fried items. Our waitress was an absolute doll, she wasn't super-professional, but that's not what they are selling there. I would go back just to see what she had to say and added a star becauseof her alone. The door hostes (who might have been 15 but was also moonlighting as the bouncer) didn't really understand why all of a sudden our wait went from 5 min to 45 min then back to 5, or why the boil pot was closed and there was no raw seafood, but then there was. But she knew how to keep non-guests and potential guests from getting past the host stand (I'm guessing it's a chronic issue there in-season.)
If you have respiratory issues, the air is thick with boil seasoning (think old bay and cayenne) - I have no respiratory issues and was starting to cough by the end of our visit.
People I was with liked: boiled crawdads, fried crawdad tails, some jambalaya dish, fried green tomatoes (they were a little soft, but they had gravy). The fried redfish was so thin and rubbery that it was like maybe frying just a shark skin?
In any case - make lemonade from lemons, you'll probably end up in a line waiting for a place like this on your trip downtown and that's really part of the experience. As we exited a man walking his dog yelled to us that we would probably get sick if we ate there, and not to go in. Too late, but also, no one from our party was sick after eating there. The building is clearly historical and at a slower end of the street, 2nd floor was closed (off season? not enough help?), and I don't think it's accessible if you are handicapped or have a disability involving stairs.
Maria Carrillo
The food was amazing & we had a beautiful view out in the balcony. I’d give this place 5 stars but the bathrooms were a mess, the floor was all wet and there was tissue paper all over the place. One of the stalls was not working either. (There’s only 2 in the womens bathroom on the top floor). Also, the waiter took forever to check up on us and then when he did we were ready to pay and leave. We asked for the bill and that was another 30 minute wait.
Chip T
Stopped in. Cold drat, great muffaletta and shrimp. Sat at the bar. Service was good. The smell from the boiled crayfish was heaven ... tempting too!
Emily Feng
I came here looking for blacked alligator. And I got it! Also their grilled salmon with pilaf is amazing, like everything is seasoned, even their green beans... God bless them.
Kailee Browning
We enjoyed the food and the ambiance. Our serve, victor, was friendly. Just a fair warning, they don’t allow split checks. If you’re going to want to pay your own and split a bill, have cash on you.
Rebecca Gamauf
The food was not too expensive but delicous. The portions were big enough to make you full. Our server was very friendly and funny and showed us how to properly eat the crawfish. I would definitely recommend it if you want to experience some typical southern cuisine in a nice ambiente!
Luke Carretta
Absolutely outstanding!!!! The food is great and so is the service ...Victor was our waiter and he was a wonderful in every way ....100% recommend !!!!!!
Connor Mackin
Best restaurant in New Orleans! McKee was a great server, the raw oysters were great and the crawfish was excellent. Overall great experience and the staff has hands!
LaToya R. Littles
OMG! A true NOLA experience.
Crawfish, jambalaya shrimp and grits! You won't be disappointed!
Stefania
The food and atmosphere is amazing here, and the staff are super polite. Really loved coming here!
Highly recommended!!
Dirk Anderson
If you’re looking for authentic New Orleans cuisine this is your place. We tried everything except the crawfish… wasn’t the right season. But so good!
Summer Madison
The food here is phenomenal! The chargrilled oysters, seafood gumbo and bread pudding were the best that I have had in New Orleans so far!
Laura Carr
Fantastic food and drink. I had jambalaya and a hurricane, couldn't get more authentic New Orleans! Taylor the bartender was amazing, I will definitely be back.
Abeer Mustafa
Went there to try the Po Boys because I've heard that your trip to New Orleans is incomplete without one.
It was a nice open sandwich. Fresh and crispy sandwich. Nothing very special about it but it was nice.
Devon Patterson
My girlfriend and I stopped in here so I could try oysters for the first time… They were great! But the service we received was even better. Dwayne and Miles were exceptional offering great menu items suggestions, and just providing amazing conversation! Plus the both helped us navigate the city! I appreciate you guys! And miles tell the saints I’m ready for my try out!!
Renee Albea
First off let's just say the service is simply amazing ..but baby the food is even better we have 2 full order of oyster and order of fired green tomatoes ..BEST I'VE EVER HAD. I CAN KISA THE COOK
Renee May Richards
We're never sure what to expect when we walk into a new bar, though we are always hopeful.
I can honestly say that bartender Mac and the rest of the crew working upstairs on Friday were one of the most fun, efficient and well oiled machines we have EVER seen.
Everyone was super friendly, great with advice on places to visit, quick to answer our questions and offer suggestions.
Mac guaranteed we would love the charbroiled oysters and good LORD he was not wrong. We've tried them at a few other places on our visit and none have even come close to comparing. .
Thank you to all of you that made our visit to your bar a FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC one! Keep up the great work !
Chris Pedersen
I think lately a lot of restaurants are obviously struggling and I get that, but there was no hesitation here. We were sat immediately, greeted immediately, served bar drinks quickly, and delivered our appetizer and then food shortly after. Single handed lay the best experience I’ve had in months, an perhaps the last year! Great job to the entire staff!
Heather A
Our server was amazing 😊 The food was delicious and not ridiculously expensive, there was a bit of a wait though, outside to get seating and for the food to arrive, so don't come in a hurry... A cool unique restaurant perfect for the french quarter and probably the cheesiest Mac and cheese I've ever seen …
LKristee
Food was great. Our table ordered gumbo, red beans and rice, steam pot and cajun pasta. Our server Carl was on top on everything we needed, polite, fast, attentive, and overall amazing. It was a little on the pricey side but by the end of the meal it was worth it.
Shay Veasey
Food was great. We had hush puppies that a were good; jambalaya great; mac and cheese needed either cream or a ruex. Service - great & fast! Ambience great as well, a whole vibe. Drinks on point! However, upstairs the floor is extremely sticky, and I have a feeling this has something to do with the myriad fruit flies upstairs. They were in our plates and on our drinks, like a lot. I had to fish one out of my drink. Otherwise a great experience!
Chase Miller
This was a good place to eat. The only quip was service took a few minutes due to the business of the store. While I understand, some moments were long between refills and checking up on the table. Other than that, I recommend this place for great seafood and friendly faces.
Angela Darnley-Beardslee
Food was fantastic, service top notch
And the deserts were pleasantly divine
Sharon R
This place was not on our agenda but we popped in after our original plan fell through, and so happy we did. The garlic and herb oysters were fantastic as was the shrimp and the red beans and rice. The catfish and sausage however were just so-so as neither tasted terribly fresh. The dining room has a old, warm ambiance that’s lovely. The service however is why they’re getting a five star review. Our daughter has a shellfish allergy but the rest of us love seafood. When we asked our server for the chicken alfredo (which was exceptional by the way) to be made in a clean pan, he went above and beyond making sure everything was cleaned for her - from cooking utensils to prep stations and even opened a new package of bread with gloves. We were very grateful for our veteran waiter (whose name sadly escapes us) who made the meal special.
DiAnna Tegen
Jambalaya was very good. My waiter was awesome and kept our drinks filled. We didn't have to wait long for a table.
Maria Riley
Great food. Fast service. Best crawfish bisque ever!
Will definitely come back.
Becca Strange
Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Everything came out quick once we ordered. We were hoping to sit on the top floor balcony but it was closed. Gumbo was so good and Fried Green Tomatoes are a must.
Hans Meier
Very cajun style ! Excellent food, drinks, service and ambiance. No more to say. Just move on....
Derek E
Long wait in line to get there for dinner which is usually a good sign.
It was one of the few places that offered boiled crawfish which was the reason for my visit .
I have to say that crawfish is not really a dish I would crave and it's not really that tasty , being a small piece of meat from its tail , but still the spices were great and it was a new experience for me , I liked their fried pickles as well .
Koby Cosper
Even though it was my family's first time, we were treated as if we were regulars. The atmosphere is that of people who actually enjoy what they do. Fair warning - SPICY MEANS SPICY!! Although it could just be me, we don't do much spice in the PNW.
If you are lucky enough to get Ashton as your server - make sure you ask for the NOLA BBQ cheesecake!
David Mathews
Disappointed, do not pay with cash, pay with credit card. Bar tender kept change and only gave dollar bills back. Bread pudding in smaller size like cupcake and served directly out of refrigerator. All bread puddings in past 10 years were served hot. Price was same for smaller portion of bread pudding.
Rodney-LaTrisha Chappin
The food was great until I scooped up some red beans & rice and almost ended up eating a piece of someone's long hair. So that put a damper on things but the rest of the food was great.
xin Shao
Not planning to eat in this restaurant, but accidentally came. Surprisingly their food were so good prepared and the staff were super friendly to give suggestion of how to eat the rocketfeller oysters. The jambalaya pasta were full of juice. I could say that it is better than any of the ‘famous’ restaurant in the traveling website!
Kor'ee Jackson
This place was very good. We got a boil and Bread pudding for dessert. The boil was flavorful and spicy...ale sure to get that butter. Our waitress was really nice as well her name was Darrylyn!
Jared S
The smell of delicious food wafting out of this place lured us in, and the food did not disappoint. Tried a bit of everything, from gumbo, to gator, to blackened redfish, and nothing disappointed. They explained that they were out of certain things, to be expected when you're a packed as they were, but every substitution would have been fine as the main attraction. It's a bit loud, and the gambit of company you'll be keeping is always up in the air, but the food is more than enough to be worth it.
Min Kim
EVERYTHING is HONESTLY and TRULY the BEST at this restaurant! Ate here twice and LOVED IT the both times. Steamed blue crabs, fried fish/shrimp/oysters platter/ crawfish etouffee, seafood gumbo, jambalaya and raw oysters... and local beer are ALL MUST TRYs. Yes, the food is great, but it pales in comparison to MILES! Model good looks Miles was an awesome server.. friendly, patient and ever so thoroughly kind!
Shy Cruz
The best char grilled oysters, and fried catfish I’ve ever had. Our server was the sweetest, so knowledgeable about the menu, and New Orleans culture. Nicole was such an experience, on her own. Amazing hospitality.
Ricardo Albarracin
Definitely recommend the oysters. Quick to sit and excellent service!!
Travis G
Best char grilled oysters in town!
Had a craving for oysters and found this amazing restaurant. Bit of a wait to be seated, around 5-10 minutes, but definitely worth it. We got the garlic herb char grilled oysters and shrimp crawfish etouffe, both absolutely delicious. The Cadillac margarita is also a must-try. Service was also impeccable, very fast and attentive.
Definitely recommend 💯

Food was amazing, very happy with what I ordered. Only thing that drove me NUTS was how I could barely breath in there. I was sneezing and coughing to the point I couldn't finish my meal and had to take it to go. Not sure if it was the seasoning or what, but I heard other people complaining about the same thing. Otherwise, I would have given 5 stars.
Mike Butcher
Lots people of people working, but not really doing anything. The waitress did not write down the order, and got it wrong. The ceiling was leaking on and close to our table. If not for the the flavor of the food, I would have given them 2 stars. If you are looking for good service, this is not the place, but if you like flavor, have the char broiled oyster. They were out of this world.
Timothy T
Stopped here after a desire for some red beans and rice. Was not disappointed. Got some raw oysters and red beans and rice, both were served in a timely manner and fresh. Tasted great. We were also seated quickly and our server was prompt and attentive too. Cool vibe inside, I would come back. Right by the river walk too.
Kristina Domagala
Ate here twice. First visit top notch. Fantastic food. 2nd visit food was delicious, service not great, no utensils, no plates for appetizers and no sauce for the shrimp Poughkeepsie boy..had to repeatedly get up to ask for simple t hints needed to actually eat. Waiter never around...he was off goofing at pick up counter
Mitch Fishman
Loved this place. It wasn't too busy when we arrived and we sat at the bar (not unusual for me).
The food was really good, crawfish etouffee was terrific and the crawfish bisque we agreed was the best we've had, ever.
Not to be overshadowed, our bartender was awesome.
jillian cowling
Let me tell you the first thing you will take note of is the smell of seasonings from the seafood boils wafting through the area!! I would HIGHLY recommend the oysters, steak and fish selections on the menu..you'll do yourself a disservice if you don't try them trust me...the mixed drinks were a no for me and taste like syrup with no liquor 🤦♀️the waitstaff was also very amazing and gave us other suggestions to try while we were there.
victoria basham
It was okay. Alot other restaurants to experience before coming here. Food was alright. Service horrible. Waitress was really nice, but rarely came to table, and braught what we needed. When she did finally come to table it was a quick how is everything and took off before we could answer. Had to keep lookong for someone. Simple things like water or a knife.
Angela Spencer-Green
It's a bit pricey, but the food was Good!
The restrooms are upstairs with no elevator, so if you have a problem with stairs "use it" before you visit. Also, the menu posted online is outdated. Don't expect all of the same options when get there.
Theresa Rhodes
Thanks to Nicky and the staff for an awesome experience and delicious food. The charbroiled oysters were absolutely Devine! Some of the best I’ve had. The gumbo could not have been any better! We also had the bisque, the shrimp pasta , the crab cakes and the seafood platter. Everything was so flavorful and definitely worth returning for another great meal! Tks again!
Nikki Smith
Server was on point. Gumbo was great and so was the Garlic and Herb salmon. A few of my red potatoes weren't all the way cooked and the bathroom could have been cleaner.
Amber Ferrill
I did not have a bad experience. However, I expected more food wise. The food could have been better. Louisiana is known for Cajun flavors. Im from South Ms, less then 2 hrs away. People stand in line for long periods of time to eat here. There was no wait when I arrived. That made me go ahead and try it out. This restaurant is for tourists in my opinion. Great vibe and awesome service!
Joseph Hohler III
Loved the shrimp creole. Service was excellent.
Amanda Golden
We just left there and it was EXCELLENT! Everything was fresh, service was excellent, and staff was friendly. We loved the oysters, crablegs, and shrimp. We are big seafood lovers and they are doing it right there❤
Alfonso Vallarta (Poncho)
Angelo, one of their servers, was fantastic. Recommended us the crawfish étouffée with some fried catfish on top and he couldn't have done a better job. The oysters, po boy, and everything else was fantastic, too.
Mark Nave
Staff seemed a bit disorganized and disjointed. Food was good and problem with that. Had huge screen TV with no sound and staff that couldn't find remotes to add sound or change channels. Staff tried but looked overwhelmed. Manager wasn't much better but gave discount for being able to unresolved problems
Bree Mansell
We loved our experience on night one (5 september) and had the most amazing service from a young man and food was incredible. We ordered jambalaya and the crawfish bisque which was delicious. We returned the next night to VERY average service from a different waiter. We had to ask him three times for a glass of water following our initial order, and it came half way through our main meal. We purchased gumbo (cold) and bisque again (delicious), followed by a main platter consisting of three dishes including gator. When we asked the waiter half way through our main meal which was gator, he explained that gator hunting is not allowed right now and it was crawfish. You should not be advertising something you can't actually deliver on, and if someone is asking for something you can't provide, you should inform the customer so they are aware and can make an informed decision. I feel like he was taking us for a ride! We would have ordered something differently had we known. Disappointing about the inconsistency between the food and service across both nights!
abraham george
Place was packed to the hilt, and man was it loud. (Which is A ok). The amazing amazing waitress at the front recognized we were tired and starving after a full day of walking and visiting sights in New Orleans. She immediately cleaned off a table and got us a waiter who appeared magically fast, took our drink orders and disappeared just as quickly. Service was great but slow, due to the bustle that night. I did see some customers complain their orders took an hour! Our food came and although everyone else liked their food, my Jambalaya tasted like someone made it following a cookbook instructions and then was reheated in a microwave . Not a pleasant feeling in the great state of Louisiana. I gave them 4 stars for extremely friendly and decent service.
Jessica Cardoni
Kertlee (hope I spelled that right 😉) set the tone for our first meal in New Orleans and he could not have been more charming or informative. He made great suggestions and made us feel right at home. The food was very good and The atmosphere was nice. If it wasn’t so cold I would’ve enjoyed sitting on the balcony but the food was so distracting Lee delicious by the time it arrived it didn’t matter where we were sitting!!! The gentleman working the crawfish boiler let me take photos of the crawfish right out of the boiler and it was awesome!!
J Ivanitskiy
The raw oysters were tasteless. You can tell that the juices were washed off. Such a shame cus they were pretty big. The grilled oysters on the other hand were one of the best I’ve ever had! The garlic aioli complemented it perfectly.
Amber Smartt
Great seafood and service! Our server Myron was kind and and on point the entire time! If you want out of this world charbroiled oysters this is your place!
April Brown
The food and service were good. The jambalaya was dry but the crawfish etouffee and the red beans and rice were great!
Natalie Garr
The jambalaya here was huge and delicious! Also got some oysters which were great as well. Service was great! The drinks we tried weren’t very good though.
Amanda Vasquez
Absolutely amazing food here. The crawfish was amazing and I know I’ll dream about the food for the next few weeks. When I think of true New Orleans cuisine, this is what I want. Friendly staff and drinks were fantastic!
Rodrigo Castilho
Great creole food. Staff is friendly
Arturo Torija
We ate seafood gumbo, charbroiled oysters and fried green tomatoes. The food was deliciously seasoned, served hot. Portions are satisfying, service was quick and our waitress was friendly and very efficient. We will be back for the boiled shrimp.
Laura Plata
Food was flavorful. Service was great. Environment, very New Orleans. Don't wait to go to Bathroom it is on the 2nd floor, upstairs! Definitely $$ min 15-20 pp.
Mike Thornhill
This certainly would've been a 5 star rating if we didn't have to wait so long to be addressed once we were seated. There is definitely a wait to begin with, and waiting should be expected in this type of location. They basically emptied the restaurant and seated numerous parties all at once. We were the first to be seated, and practically the last to be attended to. When I asked the hostess, Jarrielle, if we had a server, she indicated that one should be coming and then proceeded to take it upon herself to take our drink order and acknowledged our concern. Our server, McKee, was fantastic! She quickly took care of us and a few other tables after Jarrielle informed her of the situation. We were seated near the front door, so we were aware that McKee had just arrived to begin her shift after we had been seated. McKee continued to be attentive to all of her tables with a positive, friendly attitude, making recommendations from the menu and turning our almost disappointing experience into a great one. The food was amazing and appropriately priced. McKee and Jarrielle are the reasons we didn't walk out; them along with the great food are the reasons we would definitely go back if we find ourselves in New Orleans again.
Katina McIntosh
Victor, our server, was AMAZING! He was very sweet and on top of everything, drink refills, food recommendations, everything. The food was delicious as well.
Herb Hernandez
Stopped for lunch based on convenience and online reviews. Good service and the food was very tasty. Menu had nice variety of items.
cassidy rose
Great food and quick service! Got the shrimp creole was the perfect amount of flavor and spicy. Tried the sausage jambalaya and was not disappointed. The service was quick and the staff was friendly.
Mikaela Budzick
The balcony seating has an incredible view of the French Quarter! The BBQ shrimp & sauce was absolutely amazing BUT the crawfish pot was messed up so I couldn’t order any...that’s the only reason it’s not a 5 out of 5! I will be back on my next trip here!
Kathryn Anderson
Our dining experience here was okay at best. The hostesses were quite rude and when we asked to be seated on the outside terrace they said we could, but if we found it cold they would not re-seat us. We decided to sit inside, but with the doors open to the outside it was freezing inside anyways. The food was pretty good, but it didn't look very appealing, the presentation was sub-par. The crawfish was good, but the alligator was really salty. The oysters were amazing and I would recommend those for sure.
Kenley Raye
COME HERE !!!!
Made FROM SCRATCH authentic Creole food ! We ordered the Seafood platter which was plenty for my boyfriend and I to split. I also ordered a half dozen creole charred oysters for myself. those are pictured and they were AMAZING.
Folks - you will not be disappointed !
I will say the seafood platter had ALOT of fries instead of seafood so, just know that, if you order that plate. I was slightly disappointed when I figured this fact out. However, it was still delicious.
A word of caution however, my drink was extremely strong - it was small but due to the alcoholic content worth the $9 it cost. The lime in my drink was the only thing I wish would have been fresher.
4/5 stars - would have been 5/5 if my dish would have not been so many French fries and, if our service would have been better. It was not bad but it was not excellent service. Therefore this place is a solid 4 stars in my book.
Katherine Baltov
Loved the boil special! We came on a Saturday during the day and it didn’t take long for us to find a table. We were seated up on the balcony and had an amazing view. Hostess was awesome, waitress was great. The vibe was on point. Will be coming back here!
Christian Mai
Probably the best and most traditional seafood in New Orleans. They boil your order in a very tasty chilli soup, the taste afterwards is delicious. All the sides and other dishes as the oysters were great too. The service was amazing and we just had an awesome dinner there! Highly recommend checking the place out.
John Keilman
We enjoyed the restaurant, but it feels like it's the kind of place that locals don't go to for good food. Mostly tourist-based.
We were tourists, so we fit right in...
Nathaniel Hield
Got here right after a New Orleans Saints win so I figured the wait was gonna be a minute. However, the Jambalaya was great. No complaints.
naquila gregory
When you walk by this restaurant your nose is blessed with the intoxicating smell of their seafood boil. Although I didnt end up trying it, its what got me in. Once inside we were meet with a friendly staff that were very accommodating. The portions were so large that my husband and I shared. It was quite honestly the best fried catfish we had while visiting New Orleans. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
Mayme Doumbia
Service was good and the jambalaya was amazing. However, I seem to be the only one who enjoyed her meal. My brother said everything he had was too salty. Otherwise, I enjoyed my time there and everyone was really nice.
Chris Childs
Have been wanting to eat here for many years and now that I have it is a new favorite in New Orleans! The meal kept getting better and better. Gumbo was great, grilled oysters amazing, blackened shrimp out of this world good!
Corey Jones
This was our first time visiting the area. Naturally we had to tried the food. In the midst of the French Quarter we decided to tried this spot. It was a nice afternoon crowd. Still we had no problem getting seating. The greeter & our server were both cool people. The drinks & food was definitely on point - highly recommended!
Maggie McMorries
A great, quick, fresh meal! We had no wait at 5:00 on a Saturday! It has more of a mixed fast food and seafood market feel, and feels very busy, but fun! The tables are very close together (only downside) but the wait staff made up for it by being extremely attentive and offering local insight on things we were looking for. The food was PHENOMENAL and was priced great, especially for the area. I would love to come here again the next time I visit NOLA.
Greta Hepworth
The food was great! Sitting on the 2nd floor patio gave a great view of the street. Our favorite that we ordered were the red beans and smoked sausage. We also got the crawfish etouffe and a side of mac and cheese that were also delicious.
KJ
Awesome food! Catfish was some of the best I’ve ever had, Tartar sauce is great! Would of gave 5 star but our server Jared had zero personality and made us feel super rushed.
Brandon Lambert
I wish I could give this place six stars. The best catfish I’ve ever had that wasn’t made by my dad. No joke. And the sweet potato fries are so good. They melt in your mouth.
Devin Mell
Excellent southern comfort food. Definitely have to recommend the Crawfish Boil and Jambalaya. It is also one of the few places I have found with Blackened Alligator. Good lunch spot while enjoying the French Market, with nice views from above if you can get a table up in the gallery.
Jaylyn Knuckles
I would say that I loved this place but I didn't. We were seated by the door and it was pretty breezy. I ordered the red beans and rice with a side of catfish. I love red beans and rice but this just didn't hit the spot. That catfish on the other hand was like butter melting in my mouth. Literally the best piece of catfish I've ever eaten and I LOVE catfish. SO I'm back to rerate this place. The Shrimp and Catfish PoBoy was outstanding. I was hesitant to return due to the rbnr, but soooo glad I did!
Evangelos Eleftheriou
Dined here in early September on the recommendation of a family member. I sincerely enjoyed every bit of the food. The shrimp boil and crawfish etouffee were absolutey delicious. My only complaint was the ventilation in the restaurant needs improvement. The air was filled with a spicey odor that caused 4 out of 5 people in my party to have an intermittent dry cough.
Joaquin Villamar
Good place to eat and try alligator and crawfish. The Jambalaya was very good and the rice and beans were great too. The blackened alligator is good as well. Conveniently located, make sure you stop by if you are around the area!
Bernardo Viscarra
The food here is delicious. I ate here 2 nights in a row. They shuck the fresh oysters and slap them on the grill there in the front of the restaurant. The seafood is fresh and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this establishment
Jay Jeffries
The French Market resturant is located right across from the market. When walking by you are just lured in by the incredible smell of creole spices in the air. For a extra bonus you have the option to dine outside which we did. We enjoyed the live band playing across the way while we ate, and watched the horse and buggys passing by. For cocktails we ordered El Diablo which was refreshing and spicy because of the ginger beer in it. The Voodoo, was more of a fruity pineapple taste which was very nice, both not very strong cocktails so you might want to let them know you'd like a little extra punch in them. For lunch we had the infamous Red beans and Rice which was the best that I've had thus far out here. So flavorful, with nice pieces of smoked ham and sausage. It came with catfish, nice as well. My Hubs ordered the Bbq shrimp with grits. He liked the shrimp but said the grits were not as flavorful as other places. So we ended up sharing my yummy choice...lol. We also order a cup of Seafood Gumbo and Jambalaya. Both so very good 👍. The service was great, the waitress was attentive and kind. And please bring your appetite the portions are generous.
Aaron Balentine
I love this place. Walking down the street and smelled the aroma of heaven coming from the boilling pot and had to come in. Ordered oyster on the half shell and was absolutely fresh and delicious. Moved on to the boiled jumbo shrimp, which they did not hold back on the spice. Finished with the shrimp and crab meat stuffed avocado salad, which is by far the best salad I have ever had, and I don't typically do salads. Simply a great place with great food. Staff was friendly and very accommodating.
Vanessa Bracken
Very good food, and it wasn't busy when we went but it was pretty close to closing time so we just got an app and a couple drinks
Gustavo Teza
Creole cuisine is usually spicy and this place offers great food. I did pay for a “Swap platter” that supposedly had alligator but was instead served crawfish, shrimp and sausage. They were all delicious still, and they deserve 5 stars. 3 stars go to the service, just painful to be ignored over and over again. Servers just chatting away and you begging to order, begging to pay, crazy. Went as far as getting up and walking to the register to check out.
LaShannon Dupree
Now this place has some of the best boiled seafood seasoned to perfection! The BBQ shrimp & the fried alligator are must haves!
Martina Grayer (Mikki Loud)
The food is fresh and full of flavor. You can smell what's cooking from down the street!! My first visit to New Orleans has started off great because of this amazing food.
Ryan Waxberg
Staff was great but food was real mediocre. No seasoning or flavor to any of it. Tasted like reheated frozen popcorn shrimp
Elizabeth Tofting
The food was absolutely delicious!! The staff was friendly and very helpful
Tamika Mars
The wonderful smell of seafood boil made us stop and check this place out. It is by the French Market and a large place (downstairs and upstairs). We did not have to wait for a table, which is good on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered the snow crabs and shrimp. The snow crabs were good. Nice flavor. Will definitely check this place out when crawfish is in season.
Ashley Simmons
Food was great, service was great. Seat right away. I tried the bbq shrimp for appetizer which I thought for $14 you get a lot of shrimp. Only got 4 shrimp. It does come with the head and not peel which wasn't a problem but only 4 shrimp. It was good though. We also had a French roll to dipped the gravy in. For entree my friend has shrimp etoufee and I had the jambalaya pasta. Everything was very delicious fresh and hot. It just a little pricey.
Jim Tschetter
Oyster po boy was ridiculous. So good and fresh. Some good beers, attentive service and a solid po boy. Happy.
Ms. Kael C
The staff were pleasant and helpful. Lucy was very patient and answered a million questions without a bit of irritation. We couldn't decide between the Creole, The Rockafeller and the Garlic & Herb Char-Grilled Oysters so we ordered 6 of each. The Garlic & Herb were my favorites but the clean, creaminess of the oysters was perfect. My husband crawfish were boiled in the perfect seasoning and my Bayou platter was delicious but the red beans were there best. The servings are very healthy sized. I didn't expect all that food for the price.
Cara Wu
Came with a group of 7. Wait wasn’t long, around 15-20 min. The lady at the front was kind of rude. The manager was nice enough n efficient. Our waiter was nice n attentive. Our group liked our food mostly.
What I didn’t like was they didn’t tell me they would charge me for paying with card AND they taxed the credit card charge. 20% gratuity was also included in our bill. My veggie burger was terrible but the grilled oysters were great.
Mel S
We had the Chargrilled oysters, fried green tomatoes and crabcakes. Everything was delicious.
Michael Crawford
The food here is very delicious! I had the Sausage Jambalaya with shrimp added! The staff are all very friendly!
Matt Jones (Jonesy)
Went here with a coworker and it was delicious. The table service was a little slow and something was in the air because of it everyone around us was coughing. From what they were saying is that it was something to do with the boiling crawfish. I still loved the experience and would go back in a heartbeat.
Carl Johnson
Had the Seafood Pasta. It was extraordinary. Restroom was upstairs.
Terrell Tate
Great food and exceptional wait staff!!! We sat upstairs, recommend as it’s smaller with a very nice bar area. The salmon was perfect as was jambalaya. True New Orleans style food!!! They also have three different kinds of Bloody Mary’s, try the Ghost Bloody Mary for an additional kick.
MrsLouisianaBest
Omg The Food Was Absolutely Amazing! I wish I remembered the waitress name she was so kind and attentive. And the prices are perfect ❤ You have to try their garlic oysters
D'Laine Palacio
We always make it a point to stop and eat at The Original French Market Restaurant when in NOLA. Everything is good, but their gator bites, gumbo, and char-grilled oysters are our favorites. Ashton was our waiter with a large group most recently, and the service was great.
Marie Herrington
Order ours to-go! Our doggo was along for the trip & their patio is rooftop, so not dog friendly, just a heads up. The shrimp & crawfish boil was great. Lots of flavor, huge shrimp & good sized crawfish. Great corner location just across the street from a waterside park area with plenty of benches.
Marshea Warner
The food was absolutely awesome! Im upset for not asking for the name of the gentleman who prepared the crawfish & shrimp boil!! His personality is the best!! He literally makes everyone feel welcomed⭐ YOU MUST HAVE DINNER HERE!
Wanderlust
Found just by walking past. I found the first beer I could finish as I'm not a beer fan. Tried my first gator here and it was so yummy. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff friendly and food was terrific. Would do it agai when in NOLA
Andy Cigars
An amazing place to grab a great meal in the heart of New Orleans. The oysters were superb...both chargrilled and on the half shell. My two sons and I split a boat of crawfish and they were to die for. A great bar will set you up with a tasty bloody mary to get your day going, and the friendly, helpful, hardworking staff will make sure your meal is everything you need it to be. Duane W. took great care of us. Go early, before they open and enjoy the smell of the crawfish boiling up for the day...you will not be disappointed.
Sofia Clariana
Seating experience was a little odd. There were many tables available and we asked to move away from the door as it was cold. The hostess said it was impolite to move, so we had to stay close to the door and Crawfish boiler with a lot of Cajun steam around us. I would suggest asking for upstairs seating. Food was great, 1 lb of Crawfish was about $13 and very fullfilling! Tip: avoid touching your eyes with those Cajun fingers. The New Orleans bbq shrimp and grits was the waiter's recommendation and it was fantastic, I highly recommend it.
Ella Xu
Great portions but are a bit pricey. The staff are adequate but the food took a bit of time to arrive. The restaurant was a bit too cold and the air smelled strongly of Cajun seasoning so everyone kept sneezing and coughing. The taste and layout of the food were both really appealing.
Mary Vazquez
I had never had red beans and rice so that’s what i ordered and it was so good! I had catfish with it . The food looked so delicious. The only thing I wasn’t too impressed with was the service. I also tried their broccoli which was awesome and their boiled shrimp!
miss lita
Bruuh this my first time in NO and the first restaurant I went to during my visit. There was a bit of a wait but it was soo worth it! The food was so good! My boyfriend mention how Myles is a great waiter.. very attentive and I agree. I hate I didn’t get many pics of the food because I was starving. Lol
YN C
Their Gumbo is delicious and great! Their server was nice! But I don't think they care sanitary that much. You can see a big pot outside to steam crawfish or shrimp, which doesn't look clean at all.
JOHANNA A.
The food here was amazing. The staff was friendly and professional. I would def come back here. You must try the crawfish boil and the parm baked oysters. Amazing!
Patricia Jones
This was a recommend by friends of the hubby. Located in the Quarter just across from the Farmers Market. We had the boiled shrimp, and absolutely perfect. Not too spicy, not bland, and not overcooked. It is a must visit for dinner. The charm and staff are top notch in my book. Definitely a must visit in my opinion.
Chad Rhodes
Been to NOLA twice and each time have eaten at The Original French Market Restaurant. Both times it was the best meal of the trip. I won't visit NOLA without eating there at least once. Definitely one of my favorite dining experiences ever.
F Med
Best catfish I've ever had and the staff is super friendly
Madison Joseph
Imagine walking down Burbon street and your 'blicky' falls out your shorts and hits the ground. How embarrassing that must have been. Could have been worse and glad dude picked it up quickly.
Kyle Schoener
The atmosphere, food, and location were great. The restaurant was very clean, however our service was very poor. They forgot to bring my soup before my entree. And then they forgot about my entree.
Laura Ray
We went in to cool off and get something to drink .... left eating the BEST chargrilled oysters I've ever had our waiter also gave us the best tip for dinner. Which he didn't have to but, I wil always be grateful ... because it was the best meal I've ever had!
Kevin Lawson
This restaurant brought us in because they have a open window with a big pot of boiling crawfish. You can smell it all the way down the French Quarter. Its alil pricey but worth the money. If you go you have to try the Chargrilled oysters. Best ones we had in New Orleans. And the Po Boy was amazing. We actually at there twice on our 3 days there. Can't wait to go back.
L Wolfe
I would have eaten here all week it's that delicious but was here 2 times for char broiled oysters fried pickles shrimp boil and also got the corn potatoes and sausage great plates for sharing pirates mule is awesome can't wait to be back in town
Meghan Thomas
Andrew and Lacey were amazing bartenders and offered wonderful experiences! Lots of in site as well as many laughs! The alligator, red beans and rice, catfish and everything on the menu is just awesome! Great food, great staff, great atmosphere!!!! #1 overall!
Emily Eyre
We love this place. Great location, staff was nice. Char grilled oysters were really cheesy and delicious.
Angela Chung
We had a lovely time here! Food was good. People were friendly. It was among the most kid friendly restaurants in the area.
Joel Yu
Enjoyed the grilled oysters. A solid jambalaya and etouffe. The servers were friendly and helpful on recommendations for dinner and for places to go after dinner.
Jennifer Kopf
Light hearted; fun place. Excellent boil pot selection, as well as grill options. Portions are huge! Drink selection is top notch.
xXEli._.MotionlessXx
This place is very delicious! I went with my aunt and our waitress was so sweet! I recommend the red beans and rice!!
Liang-Kai Chu
I prefer their grilled oysters than raw ones.
LaToya Butler-Humes
The best crawfish boil location in New Orleans. Miles and the entire team will make your dining experience fun, enjoyable and unforgettable. PS the food is PHENOMENAL!!!
David Dedios
Very good food. But heads up if you've never had it the crawfish boil is spicy! Nice atmosphere. The bathroomis upstairs and is kind of small.
T Rush
The charbroiled oysters are AMAZING, and you have to have a Hurricane...or two, if you're a drinker. You WILL NOT be disappointed with the overall experience!!
Shaquala Rice
It's definitely crowded but the food, drinks and service were great! Tried fried alligator for the first time here and the etouffe was delicious.
Marco Crooks
Your nose is welcomed by the smell of the seafood boil at the entrance which entices you in, mixed reception on entering but the server managed to welcome us and was tentative, must say the boil was great although not tried anywhere else felt that it was authentic enough for me with the mouth watering spices and fresh seafood family enjoyed 💯 % UK certified
sherri lustgarten
Went here the first night we arrived. Tried the gator, the boiled crawfish and char grilled oysters. Have had char grilled oysters at every place we have stopped (been here 4 days) and by far the best char grilled oysters so far and the only place with crawfish. Will go at least 1 or 2 more times before we go. Crawfish delicious and very spicy, we ordered the 1 lb but may go for the 2.5 lbs next time.
Ms. W
Gotta have your crawfish when visiting New Orleans during Crawfish Season. Decided to go here to try their Crawfish out and enjoy balcony seating. Our Server was friendly and the place was clean. They have local NOLA craft beer on the menu.
Ana Paula
Those smothered crab cakes are a must!!! Trust me, it’s all crab meat, no dough or fillers, lightly seasoned and absolutely perfect! Everything was great!
Sushi Sue
$13 per pound of crayfish or $25 for a boat (2.5 pounds). The service is subpar, there’s no hostess so you get seated only when the waiters notice you, but the seafood is fresh and delicious and that’s why you’re probably coming here anyways.
Madelene
Good food and alright service. They were very attentative, although I'd like to have a smile now and then ;) I had the shrimp in Cajun sauce, it was tasty and fine but way too few shrimps in the "tomato sauce"
Lady Fangy
Hands down best food! So many options and the smell is Devine! Start off with a bloody Mary enjoy some oysters and finish with some good old new Orleans fair!

It's a tourist spot for sure. There is a couple if guys shucking oysters for everyone to see. The boiled shrimp was flavorful, but it was more work for my food than I care for. I get it why the shrimp isn't peel d and devined. The jambalaya was fantastic. It's load and crowded for seating. The wait staff did a great job.
Davey Freeman
A nice balance between local dishes and general American dishes. This is one of the only places in the French Quarter to offer boiling pot style full crawfish and shrimp. Not as knock your socks off as some of the other places nearby, but nothing disappointing about it.
Jeff Sanders
The bisque was amazing.
The oysters were really good. They were super hot. Had to let them sit for a bit to cook down enough to eat.
Bread Pudding was epic.
Elissa Khoo
The best char-grilled oysters in New Orleans. Everything I’ve tried here from the fried gator tail to the jambalaya and red beans and rice have been delicious. I also strongly recommend the bread pudding. This is a must visit if you want some New Orleans dishes.
Ejatu Jalloh
Food was delivered and very well seasoned but customer service was trash like they was so disrespectful if I was to every go back definitely will take out
Tiffany F
The only downside was that a server kept coughing and sniveling next to us. The food was great, just a off atmosphere.
Karina K
Best oysters and crawfish i ever had in NO. Balcony are huge plus . Highly recommend
Nathan Atthawimol
Absolutely delicious! The Crawfish looked tasteless on the outside, but was full of flavor and had the right amount of spice to make you want to keep eating. Oysters were also delicious! Nice fresh and juicy, full of flavor. The garlic and herb seasoning went together well. Crawfish season just started so they're a little small, but as the season matures, they get bigger by the week! This is the taste of new orleans. Can't say you've been here unless you've had proper Louisiana style crawfish!
RoyDan Segura
I have to reassess all my prior reviews, as this place set a new standard. I was always ambivalent about shrimp until today. This was hands down the beT shrimp I've ever had. I tried the shrimp etouflet, fried shrimp, fried crawfish, gumbo and there was grilled salmon at the table. 6 stars. My buddy, who is a local said the king of Spain comes here when he is in town.
Sina K
Food was good.
Too bad service/management is poor.
Service was very slow even though it was not a busy hour and most tables were empty.
Also waitress got our order wrong.
Lindsey S
Yumm yumm! Portions are huge! I was starving and still left with half my meal. Shrimp crab dip was alright not many shrimps but it was still tasty. The fried eggplant and crab cake pasta was very flavorful. The chicken and mushroom pasta was delicious!
Diana Lynn
We always enjoy our visits to New Orleans and this restaurant is one of our favorites. As usual Hubby had the boiled crawfish. I had the fried crawfish appetizer and a side salad. Everything was awesome as usual. Can’t wait to visit again.
Tom Brown
Wow the corn, sausage and potato was spiccccy. Really the corn was the hottest. We sampled a lot. It was good
Stefanie M&M
Superb food, service, location and drinks. Must visit for crawfish boil! Restaurant is very large.
Christina Finley
The food was delicious! The staff on the other hand! I came in about 9:30 (closing is at 10). I tried to order over the phone but they would not do it (so no curbside...even though it says so in Google) - my family had been traveling all day....
Girl at the front directed me to the bar. I stood there for about 5+ min. Bartender who was right in front of me was chatting....I was passed by at least three servers...I felt like I was in an episode of "not my job!"....finally, the bartender started my order and told me to hurry up because the kitchen was closing.
My advice is to do some training and publish a kitchen closing time.
That said, the food was packaged well, and the catfish, crab cakes, fried green tomatoes, and etouffee was excellent - the red beans and rice was a little dry, but good flavor.
C C
Great Great Food. Our Server Victor was so friendly and on top of it. Oysters Raw and Baked yummy. Cajun Sausage and Potatoes flavorful. Po Boy sandwiches were POfect. From start to finish it was just great.
Yuri Kirsanov
Friendly staff, food is yummy. Nothing else to say. If you're hungry and willing for some seafood - this is the place. Just look at this delicious food:
Darrell Clulow
French Market is amazing! True traditional cuisine with a fun atmosphere! Amazing customer service as well!
D C
Always good food and local beer. I have been here several times. I got the crawfish this time. They were great. It's the place with the boiling pot on the window.
Cindy La
The food was really good, but I couldn't stop coughing and sneezing the whole time I was there. They need better ventilation because they use so many spices and the ceiling fans just blow it everywhere.
Dan Ram
Food was pretty good, but plenty of better options in the area. Staff was prompt and friendly though.
Stephanie Casas
This place is so delicious. I came with 2 girlfriends and we ordered garlic herb oysters, crawfish, pasta jambalaya, and fried catfish. Everything we tasted did not disappoint! The garlic bread was so yummy. I highly recommend going. I will be back.
Hyunsun C
The oysters are very fresh and good. $10.95 for half(6 oysters). Great service.
Tony Yang
Very salty food, but the experience was decent considering the location.
Chanda Kasal
Friendly staff, great atmosphere! We got Oysters and they were great!
Tennay Jointer
Loved the fried green tomatoes and the catfish was so tender. It was worth waiting in line for.
Leah Stone
Such good food. Red beans and rice was amazing. Would definitely come back.
Stephanie E
Fresh seafood!!! The food was amazing. Only complaint was they overcharged us.
Stephen Boerigter
Service a bit slow. Food only so-so. Was the right place at the time because we could get seated
JJ A
My husband and I love sea food and we went to this place expecting to like the food and walked out of there saying how much we loved it. He had an order of crabs about 54 market price ( it is a bit high just for crabs) I had the order of fried shrimp, fried oisters and shrimp on a bed of fries for 29 dollars. Everything was fresh and the waiter was very nice. Everyone in the restaurant was nice. They even allowed people to go in and use the restroom which surprised me because businesses in Tx do not allow you to do that. To me that’s just the heart and kindness of NOLA people.
Emmy Salazar
I’m vegetarian so I didn’t expect they had too many options. They have a vegetarian pasta and I asked for an additional Alfredo sauce, they mixed everything and it was AMAZING!! Was the first time someone ordered like that. Highly recommend to order vegetarian pasta with alfredo sauce, they know already ;) excellent service.
Vicky Tusken
This is the place to have a crawfish boil when they are in season and when in the French Quarter. A short walk down Decatur from Jackson Square and across the street from the French Market... don't miss it.
Sydney Johns
I had a great dinner. The seafood broil was exactly what I wanted. I would highly recommend.
Geno Jessmone
This place is a easy going restaurant. The portions were big and the food was good.
Chris Schuckman
Delicious! 1st timer. The spicy crawfish broil and chargrilled oysters are a must!
Christ Child
Excellent food and staff Mr. Allen behind the oyster bar is an excellent employee the best thank you. The grilled oysters are the best as well as the boiled shrimp and oysters on a half shell.
Chelsea Merta
One of the best meals that I had in New Orleans! We beat the lunch crowd and got a great table by the steam pots, which was entertaining to watch. The food was superb — my grandma ordered gumbo & I got the andouille po’boy, a side of red beans & rice, and perfectly sweetened iced tea. The restaurant got very busy but service was not impacted and the staff was so helpful & responsive. Definitely worth a trip to try to food & to eat in one of the oldest restaurants in NOLA & the country!
Sara Albrecht
The food was amazing. Bread pudding was to die for. I wish I could eat here everyday.
Roger Li
Came here just for the boiled crawfish. It was delicious. The red beans and rice is also amazin! Service was incredible as well, the waitress made sure I had everything I needed. Would come back again.
EDIT: I came back again. I only ate 3lbs of crawfish. I probably could have gone for 4. Again, service was impeccable, the waitress anticipated my every need in terms of having to deal with a very very very messy meal I was about to endeavor on. Napkins, wet naps, whenever I needed it. Ever cleared out a boat of shells midway.
Christopher Rodriguez
Very low key inside. The food was superb! Taste like someone's grandma was in the back cooking it. Very very savory🤘 …
Brittney White
Best charboilled oysters in the city!!!! Just make sure if you want your food pipping hot let them know. Myles was our server and gave us great traveling tips. He was so polite and helpful made us feel right at home
Miah Wright
Stupendous food the Cajun boil was perfectly prepared tons of flavor tons of fun to eat. The atmosphere is lovely and the service was wonderful you must try if your in New Orleans
Angela Khan-Norton
So fresh! The food was flavourful and thoroughly enjoyable. Love the atmosphere!
Greg Rampy
Great food, great service, and did I say amazing food!!! Great cooking right here. Will definitely be back.
maria lauritzeni
It was so tasty and our waiter was the best. The Salomon was too dry, but the the rest of the 9 dishes were perfect.
Anthony Ryan
We were brought in off the street by the aroma of the boil and the friendliness of the hostess. We sat on the balcony and had great food and service. Very happy we chose this place!
Kay Heng
Not a pretentious place. We just dug into the delicious food when they arrived... boiled crawfish, gumbo, crawfish ettoufee, and fried catfish. Price was reasonable too.
Sid Naidu (thekidsid)
Get stuffed on the Seafood platter it's great for sharing & grab a seat on the balcony to do some people watching from above.
Craig Winn
Crawfish when in season! By the boat. One boat was all I could eat. They bring them out steaming hot and they are over the top spicy. I mean you leave with your lips hurting but it is a pain that is worth it. My wife and kids enjoyed their food and the service was good. We sat upstairs which was very spacious. They also have balcony seating. Charbroiled oysters are supposed to be best in town.
Hemanth Vajje
Pricey but the meats were good and the service was great! I tried the alligator because it is Louisiana.
Torrius
Omg! We’ve gone from place to place this week and I must say this place was the absolute best! The atmosphere was amazing! Just ask for upstairs and outside!!! You won’t be disappointed with the view or ability to people watch.
Now, the food was to live for. We had 1.5 dozen of the grilled oysters. I can’t emphasize enough just how great the grilled oysters were. They were so good I wanted to DoorDash more for dinner but they don’t have that service 😩. we also ordered The boiled shrimp and it was pretty good. The seasoning sprinkled on top has a little kick to it
But it was great. Just ask for the melted butter!! It has herbs in it and I promise you, it is the best I’ve ever had!
My daughter had the Mac n cheese and it was really good. It’s actually shells and has a load of baked cheese on top.
Hubby had fried catfish and it looked and smelled amazing. It was a bit wet/slimy on the middle so he sent it back but the waitress was nice about it.my hubby is also a very picky fish eater so it could’ve just not been to his liking.
Overall, I give this place a 10/10 and it’s a must have!
also, check out my TikTok with over 9million viewers!! Just type “Torrius”
Red Trust
Long wait times. Food was great though. Very cramped seating.
James Heiney
Fantastic food and excellent service. I can't recommend the char-grilled oysters enough.
Richard Revels
We got the bayou sampler and everything was great. The service though was even better. Our server gave us excellent advice as well as making sure we had an awesome dining experience
Marybelle Rosado
Food and Service was great..
Tricia
Great food and friendly service. Only issue was our server took our order, a server assistant brought it and after that we never saw them until we flagged our server down. Prices are in line with a tourist spot.
The Lioness
Birthday meal of the year! Delicious, large portion, and great hospitality. We’ll be back to NOLA again.
J P
Amazing place. The boiled crab was amassing, the best ever. The whole experience far surpassed my expectation Alyssa was amazing, great service!
Terry Widell
Wonderful staff and service. The swamp platter is a great meal! Was in that area for business but will definately be going back for fun.
MING YING
My server was GREAT! This drink is call Voodoo Moon, super delicious. Gave a three star due to my boiled shrimp was full of sand...I guess I had to get my share of the gulf 😂 …
Sean Gorman
This place is amazing. The atmosphere is perfect and the food is way better. Might come back tomorrow
Sung ho Choi
I am just glad New Orleans is back open. Had an amazing meal, everything was great and our server was just as amazing as well. You have to try the pecan pie!!
Luke Wiley
This place deserves it's reputation! The oysters are great, the catfish is the best I've had, and the Crawfish Etoufee is heaven!
Dan Engelhardt
Amazing cajun food and great service! Try the oyster's, gumbo and Seafood pasta! Soooo good!
Tasha Mitchell
Awesome nice service food was amazing the whole family loved it
Shelley Habenicht
I definitely recommend this place! Friendly service from Adolfo (I think that was his name). We had the pasta jambalaya. It was so good we came here twice during our stay in NOLA! Absolutely delicious! The gumbo that our neighboring table were eating looked delicious as well. A must-do!
Brieanna Burch
The garlic and herb chargrilled oysters are my favorite and a must have while in New Orleans. If you like oysters do yourself a favor and get these but make it a dozen!
Tracey Butler
This was a great place to eat we really enjoyed everything we ordered, our waitress was awesome.
Kendra Collins
The food here is really good. I scored down due to poor service provided by the hostess and kitchen staff. Online it says they close at 10pm. We (2 people) walked through the door at about 9:20pm and were told we couldn’t dine in, because the kitchen is closing down. We asked to place a quick to go order, but was told no. By 9:23pm we were out the door and they supposedly close at 10pm. Poor service.
Steven Brunies
Great food and great people!! Good Barbeque shrimp and boiled shrimp and crawfish!!
Jacqueline Williams
Sooooo good!!! The charbroiled oysters are a must have. The catfish is delicious!!! Portions are huge....so you may want to consider sharing.
Michael Pearson
We had to come after seeing the boiling crawfish the night before in passing. It most definitely did not disappoint. The crawfish was delicious and the salmon on arugula was pleasant, but the staff is what made this great. Our waiter gave us northerners a lesson on eating crawfish and kept our glasses full, another staff member chatted us up about his recent visit to Michigan where he was shocked to learn we don't have grits, and Nolan the manager allowed us to stay upstairs late and watch our Lions lose their playoff football game. They also let us on their balcony to view the passing parade for the start of Mardi gras. The staff was on point from start to finish. If you're in the area, stop in for some amazing praline topped bread pudding!
Stacey Lester
Unassuming little restaurant with FANTASTIC fried green tomatoes and try the fried seafood platter...just don't tell your cardiologist. Drink options are great as are the local fair. The building and interior could use updates, but the food makes up for it. If you can ask for Victor- he'll take care of you!
John Davies
We stopped for lunch passing through, the place was rammed but they still found a table for us and the food was fantastic
Emma Kirk
I enjoyed the lunch I had here but the food was so so.
We waited for probably 30 mins before we got seated. Employees were really nice and welcoming.
We got lucky and sat outside the top deck so we could enjoy the sun and see the revelry outside on the street during Mardi Gras.
Food just wasn't on par with the other restaurants we had eaten at during our 5 days there.
Bathrooms are a big thing for me, and unfortunately this restaurant had awful ones. Even the public restrooms were cleaner and better stocked than this place.
sandra metzger
The food and drinks were delicious and our server was friendly. I do wish they would dim the lighting a bit as it is very bright in there , but I would go back again for the huge boiled shrimp and flavorful seafood gumbo.
Jeffery Seider
The aroma of crawfish boiling in Cajun spices fills the air on Decatur Street and draws you into a dining experience that delights the heart and soul. This is authentic New Orleans food at it's best with exceptional service. Our server Carl was attentive and very knowledgeable. Fantastic experience all around.
Rezchell Jennings
We first ordered half a dozen oysters then had to order a dozen because it’s really good. Obviously after that I couldn’t finish my jambalaya which is still good as a leftover.
KARL MARCHIAFAVA
Very good food and nice service. I was a very happy customer
Paul Bragg
Great service and the food and drinks were amazing! We would definitely be back!
Jeramie Crabtree
One of the best places I've eaten. I got the garlic and herb char grilled oysters, then the seafood platter (all fried: shrimp, oysters, catfish, and stuffed crab). Then to top it off, I got the bread pudding. The flavor of everything was fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Carol Jackson
Some vendors were closing around 5pm but those open were all super friendly and accommodating. Thanks
Mike Oropeza
1st time here and indefinitely will not be the last the last. The food was fantastic fresh crawfish be a boiled insert in large boats. As soon as you walk into the place you know that you are in for a treat.
David Hubbs
Excellent food and great service by the wait staff. Dined here twice while in NOLA.
Eva Moore
Fun spot, especially if you need a quick place to go between other sights. Great food too! And found super cute earrings.
Joseph Gilio
Looove this place!! Great portions, reasonable prices! Waiters are friendly. Atmosphere lively and fun!! Drinks are great!!
Christopher
This place has all the foods you would want to try when in New Orleans. And the servings are very hefty.
Sandi Whitehead
Not a great restaurant. It started with a less than inviting welcome (if you can call it a welcome). 2 girls were sitting down on stools at the front door and never actually looked at us or welcomed us. I thought this was strange...it was almost as if we were bothering them to come in. We were led to a table by one of the zombies and seated. Then we proceeded to order a dozen oysters, a half pound of shrimp an a burger. Oysters were small and frankly not good, the shrimp were served steamed and overcooked so you could not even peel them (these were sent back). The burger was ok served with fries, but how can you go wrong with a burger, right??? Very disappointed with this place, we willnot go back.
Teisa Norsen
The food was well priced, an absolutely delicious, staff was friendly and helpful. Was not disappointed with my choice.
john uchida
Went there twice last week for dinner. We go to Nola 1-2 times a year and it was unusual to go twice to the same restaurant considering the massive choices. Kentrell served us both times and we ordered what he suggested. Jambalaya, red beans and rice with catfish, pasta with snapper and char grilled oysters. This was our third and fourth time there and is our go-to when we visit. Kentrell was awesome!!
jerry wiatrowski
Great food, a little spicy but authentic! Staff was attentive and friendly too!
James Krepps
Great food and friendly staff! Gumbo and jambalaya are definitely on point! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting NOLA
Madison P
Our experience here was good! The server was very friendly and made conversation with us. The shrimp creole was really delicious with huge shrimp and tons of flavour.
Ynot
The first thing you'll notice of this restaurant is the fantastic smell of crawfish boil that streams down the street right outside the restaurant! It was cause enough for me to stop hit up anything they where putting into that boil!
The French Market Restaurant is truly a one stop shop if you want to dive right into the deep end of what creole/Cajun food is really all about! The serve everything form the famous jambalaya, gumbo, bbq oysters/shrimp, gator sausage, crayfish etroufee, frog legs, famous red beans and rice. You name it, if its a New Orleans thing... they're serving it here!!!
Shannon Pink
Gumbo was SOOo good! Sausage with red beans and rice, also tasty.
Jay Jones
Great breakfast buffet for the right price and a lot man to keep you entertained
Goosehunter82
We stopped in for some char grilled oysters. They were very good!
Tamara Hunter
Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Our server Kenneth was very nice.
Enee eightyeight
Great crawfish and charbroiled oysters. Great view of Decatur street from the balcony.
Raven
WOW! Super friendly staff & amazing food! Look at these photos I took - perfection!!
Craig Dean
Eat here on a business trip to New Orleans. Excellent service and good food. Would definitely recommend it if you're in the French quarter
Andy Held
Just finished a weekend trip. Surprised that crawfish were available. Two days straight, carried out crawfish to eat in the nearby park at the end of the French Market. Fantastic. Service and employees were all great and very helpful. Must visit if you are in town. DON'T FORGET TO TIP THE SHUCKERS AND THE FOLKS WORKING THE BOILING POTS! Those cats work hard for you! Now on to 2022...They were boiling shrimp. another home run!
Andrew Rosario
The place is amazing and service was out of this world. Gerrard took care of us and he was what made the trip to New Orleans. Do yourself and order the crawfish boil!
Shawna Martin
The wait was worth it for the food we ate. We had the best catfish, crawfish, sides, and everything on the menu - did not disappoint. The crawfish bisque is AMAZING! I could have asked for a boat of that instead of a boat of crawfish.
Jamya Davis
I came here with my Mom for the first time and had a great experience! Even with the slight wait time, it was well worth it because the food was the best explanation! My mom and I split the seafood boil special: combined with the great seafood, the sauce, the drinks, and the atmosphere we had a great time! The star of the show was Angelo! Angelo had the sweetest heart and the swiftest service. He answered our myriad of questions with patience and a smile on his face! I loved his friendly energy and knowledgeableness. Would definitely come back just for him! Great place !
Quinn Gilmore
The food is excellent. We went 2 days in a row!
Brad Raynor
Amazing food, would definitely go back. The delicious smells lure you in from outside, it's great
Kimberly Frazier
Amazing food, and the staff is even more amazing, especially our waitress Candy!!!
Alicia Soncksen
Service was slow due to shortage in staff, but that is how most businesses are right now. The food was delicious. The garlic and herb grilled salmon with Cajun rice and fresh green beans were amazing. The hush puppies were fabulous! Waiter was friendly and quick to fill our drinks! Clean restaurant and cleanest restrooms I saw at any restaurant in New Orleans!
Ryan Young
Finally found boiled crawfish in New Orleans! It was excellent and would go back again.
marc pendleton
Wife had the fried shrimp, I was gonna get a dozen raw oysters, our waiter suggested the charbroiled ones, he was right, best oysters I've ever had. Garlic, Italian S, mozzarella salt pepper, pamagean , and some remolade?...awesome
DW Martin
Super service. Super good food. Highly recommend
Johan Nygaard
Had a 5-10 minute wait both times we went by. Seems like there's always a wait. The food was okay priced, we had a gater po'boy and a bayou platter, costing about $16 each. Taste was super good, also huge portions!
Tamara SD
Soooo... good BBQ shrimp and gumbo. Amazing
Josette Miller
Gumbo and Fried green tomatoes were ok, would definitely go back for the crab legs next time!
J W
The waiter Duane was excellent. Best hospitality in NOLA ask for his recommendations.
Stephanie Davidson
I was not impressed by the raw oysters. Several of them were gooey. Not oyster slimy, actually gooey on the inside. Raw one! I have never ever ever experienced that. I had to spit them out. Charbroiled were decent. Gumbo was decent. Atmosphere was fun and inviting and our waiter was great.
Summer Pierce
I never visit New Orleans without stopping here. My kid has grow up loving this place as much as I do.
Patrick Ptacek
Mud bugs were amazing. Also, grilled oysters were so good after eating our first serving we got a second. Very good food
KC Larson
Best fried oysters I've had in a minute came on they're po boy. The sandwich was decent but those oysters, yeah boy. The fried shrimp were good on the po boy too. The tartar was solid but the very slow service and the waitress too high to help were big numbers at such an old and reputable restaurant. I can't honestly say I'd recommend it or go back again but I'm not going to talk you out of trying it.
Evangeline Kho
Really tasty chargrilled oysters!!!! This was my first chargrilled oyster experience and it did not disappoint. They don’t take reservations and you have to wait in line (I think we waited like 30min). Very worth the wait though
Kelly Jean Raber
Delicious food and great service! Highly recommend!
Alyssa Godfrey
I don’t eat fish or meat really so the only option I could find was the pasta and veggies. It wasn’t the greatest but we came for the crawfish for my husband. He liked it said it was good but could be hotter!
Chris Bloomfield
Food was good, staff was friendly. It was a long wait for our order, but I don't care if the food is good. The hush puppies were just ok. The jambalaya was excellent. The portions were on the small size, while the price was a little high. I would eat here again.
andrew jorden
Ok, this restaurant was a little deceiving from the moment you sit down, very laid back and had a cafeteria vibe to it which almost turned me off but the service was actually very good and the food was great. The jambalaya was outstanding, the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is it was a very small portion, a little heads up, considering ordering a few options and going family style.
Joshua Edwards
Half order of oysters and a half boat of crawfish. Had a table next to me explain on how to eat the Crawfish.
Lisa-Marie
2.5 lbs of boiled crawfish. Walked past a couple of times and looked at the boiling crawfish in the window and finally stepped in. Invited the waitress to show us how to eat crawfish and she gratuitously accepted. Really enjoyed the experience and meal.
taya klesel
My waiter Victor was the nicest wait staff we've had in our entire time in New Orleans. Very friendly, funny and was extremely helpful. He's a keeper!
Ronnie Fairley
The food was awesome.. The service was slower than expected.
Celeste Paez
Food was cooked right on point the cajun flavor is incredible tasty, the service was great!
Ashwaq Al Hammmami
Located inside the market, they have traditional jazz music. Very nice place. I tried alligator and that was first time for me, taste like chicken 😅 they made it good. …
Stacy Unruh
Being from Montana we had never had a traditional crawfish boil so the wife and I decided to try it. After being recommended by other locals we came here and was not dissatisfied.
Angelo was our waiter and he made us feel very comfortable when we were asking all of the touristy questions.
The place was clean and the staff was very upbeat and looked like they enjoyed their jobs. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone.
Tim L
Oysters were great. Will at the oyster bar was very attentive
William
The food was so good received it extremely fast! Our waitress was sweet!
Monique Poole
The BEST food I had tasted while in the French Quarter!!!! Red Beans and Rice with fried sausage. Delicious and filling!
Abhijeet
Delicious food and cocktails with a kick. Dana is a very loving and hospitable server who makes you feel like you're visiting her home for a meal.
