Reviews of Tare Market Nokomis

Tare is a beautiful store, kind staff, and since I tend to spill (in life in general) wherever I go, it's so nice to have towels around the shelves just for that purpose! I always get excited to refill my jars and containers at Tare, and pick up a little sweet treat like the chocolate pretzels 🤗 The only thing is sometimes the price, for example this shaker of garlic granules (garlic powder) came out to $13.71, when at the chain stores it might only be a few bucks. A refill bottle of body wash for $8.57, perhaps double what the original bottle cost at Target. I wish I could shop more at Tare as I'd love to support less packaging and waste, but the prices (for me) are somewhat of a barrier. 😭

Fantastic selection of spices, herbs, and basics. They didn't have whole cardamom but they did have everything else on my spice list. I'll be going back for bulk oatmeal, brown sugar, figs, and a few other things. They are eco-friendly, bring your own containers and weigh them before filling. Prices are lower than grocery stores because you aren't paying for packaging. Love this place, highly recommend.

Very kind human working and good selection of products, though I echo other reviews in that many items were out of my price range; I understand that inflation is real and small businesses need to have higher prices, but for this reason I was not able to afford the haul I was hoping for. As a person of color, I also felt very aware that I was in a gentrified, predominately white space. This is not meant to bash the company whatsoever, but I think my expectations were a bit different going in. Still think it’s a cool idea and there were a lot of neat products I hadn’t thought about before!

I love coming here to see what new package-free products are available. I also like their recycling program for hard-to-recycle items.
We buy some of our bulk items here, primarily household cleaning supplies and human cleaning supplies (soap, shampoo). I love the concept!
I think the prices are a little high. You can get a lot of similar bulk items at the co-op or elsewhere for cheaper. I’ve seen identical products $2-$3 cheaper at the Seward Coop.
I wish they had some items at a slightly lower price point. For example, I would like to see a regular bar soap that’s in the $2-$3 range. Some products can’t be made cheaper - which I totally understand - but there are some items that have lower price points.

Staff is friendly and helpful. My questions are welcomed. The vibe is calming and the store smells so good. I keep coming back for: the liquid hair conditioner and argan oil (hubby loves this for his beard). These are bulk items our co-op doesn't carry. I look forward to trying more!

The store is clean and well organized. They have sales but even without them, everything is reasonably priced, great quality, organic and locally sourced. The staff is friendly and answered all of my questions...I had many. Highly recommend this store!

Fantastic shop with common herbs and dried edibles such as fruits and nuts.
BYO container or use donated ones for maximum sustainability!
Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for quality bulk spices or foods.

I decided to shop local and really liked this place. It had a great selection of herbs/spices and fruits. The service was great and overall I thought it was just a great selection of natural foods. I would definitely recommend this to other.

We need more Tare Markets in the world. As a new year’s resolution I decided I was going to eliminate something wasteful in my life each month - permanently. Tare Market helped me do that! I started with body wash - so many plastic bottles! - and love their Oneka Shower Gel - light citrus scent, gently cleanses without over drying. Also love their Hibar Shampoo bars. I’ve replaced cotton balls with washable cotton facial rounds and plastic sandwich bags with Stasher bags. Their sunny slices and chocolate peanut butter cups are SO good.
Amber, the founder and owner, is inspiring and a wealth of knowledge on zero waste and conservation. She has a wonderful team following her lead. Thank you for bringing Tare Market to our community!

Tare Market is wonderful and I wish there were more throughout the metro! The store is bright, modern, and lovely.
They have waste-free packing on tons of products - way more than I thought they would! Ketchup, mustard, spices, coffee, tea, dry pasta, granola bars, fig newton bars, straws, food wrap wax, makeup, soap, dishwashing soap, scrubbers, dog shampoo and treats, storage containers, Castile soap, and much, much, more! They also try to source from local vendors. I bought something from a company in St. Paul!
Bring your own clean containers (or they have containers you can purchase) and stock up on products. The staff are very friendly and will help you tare your goods so don't be intimidated!
I came here for a class called, "Transition Your Home to Zero Waste" where one of the owners gave a presentation on starting a waste-free lifestyle. I learned SO much, took tons of notes, and am planning to get started on living a greener lifestyle. The Tare Market website has lots of classes - check them out because they fill up fast!
For prices, I think everything was reasonable. I didn't have anything to compare it to but it seemed well-priced. I bought a 10-pack of facial rounds ($7.99), Dental floss with a refill ($7.49), a mason jar drink lid ($8.99), a lip/cheek tint combo ($11.99). Because I signed up for the class ($10) I got $5 off my storage purchase.
I can't wait to shop here again as I use up what I have and need to replace items.
