Today was my first time here. It's a very short walk from where I live. They do have fair prices. Some products were a hell of a deal. A lot of 99 cents or below items. I heard a lot of hype about the meat here. That's why I stopped in. I only bought beef and prepared it when I got home. I will purchase beef here again, it was great. Looking forward to other meat options in the future when I come back. Overall, good experience.

Great place to find deals on meat, groceries. They sell close dated and sometimes slightly out of date items for a fire sale price which is a good thing in my opinion as many people need a store like this to get more for their money.... Which also keeps still edible food from being completely wasted.

The loyalty is so real here when it comes to this place. Even with a lot of the out dated items. Straight LUV. WE just have to pay attention to dates any where especially when you have little ones.

They have the Chicago foods that CUB or Byerlys don't, and a huge selection of meats including chicken wings that have gotten hard to find these days. Plus friendly staff and they carry your groceries out.

The environment here is always refreshing. The employees ask if you need help. It's a security guard at the front entry way. They require you to have a mask. If you don't have one they sell you one for $2. Which isn't bad. During the meat surge they didn't raise there prices too high. I usually get beef stew meat for $7. I paid $9. Which like I said isn't to bad. The lines inside the store isn't terrible long. They have the elderly men and young men carrying out folks groceries. 🥰

Typically a bustling little grocery store. Amazing meats section that typically has some sort of line, and the random fun things you find throughout the store are typically worth at least trying. Some stuff are past dates and weirdly overpriced, so check dates and compare prices. Definitely come here for value on fresh and frozen meats. And the commercials are pretty wild too.

I love going to this store. Remember this is an outlet grocery store, so look at expiration date and make sure it's not overly expired. The fresh meat area is awesome. Great prices. One thing is, expect a lot of customers when you go. Also, gotta watch your back as it's not in the most safe area. They do have an armed guard on duty at all times.

Love shopping here, almost everything is cheaper then any other store. The meat dept. Is awesome, the prices of the meats are cheaper then anywhere else, also the employee's are always nice and helpful. This is my go to store now, thanks for all the hard work you do for us the customers. Also they play old school slow jams and when you check out it is faster then any store in town. SoLow actually impressed me. I've generally avoided this grocery store, but after scoping out all the aisles I found they have very competitive prices and a lot of food items you'd find at a upscale market. It definitely has a different vibe, but in a pinch it'll do.

Update 12/20/2021: I have been going there recently with my Mom, and have noticed it is much cleaner, the milk is not expired and there is plenty of food that has not passed expiration or best by dates. There is still food past the date on the label, some of which is frozen and some of which is canned goods. But, I am glad to see that the dates are easier to find making it easier for my Mom to shop. They have plenty of fresh produce and a good meat department. - A lot of food with old dates. Almond Milk even said Feb 2017...um it's Nov 2017 right now. A lot of Seniors shop there, including my Mom and So Low needs to do better.

Great place to go when your looking for African American food and seasoning. I gave 3 stars because although clean inside, the smell if old meat ruined the experience. I wish the would deep clean that area twice a month with bleach. Take all the meat out and deep clean. Then I'll give 5 stars

It's So Low because it's so old. This place has some shady items for purchase. Rule of thumb, if the price is too good to be true, check that expiration date. Otherwise they have a decent selection of fairly priced groceries comparable to Cub and Hy-Vee. Their meat deli is what stands out no complaint from that department. Great prices on the fresh chicken and other butcher quality meat items. Definitely worth the 5 star for that reason alone. Maybe also I support the Northside small businesses.

Because of the new management the store has changed for the better. I'm happy with all the meats that I get from there as well as some of the Chicago style condiments. However about, I'll say 12 years ago when I went there and I bought a piece of buffalo fish someone had put their smoked weed blunt out on the fish; but now thanks to the new management the store has wonderful workers and I do not have any complaints.

I went to the meat department and spent $600 and filled my deep freezer. We have 12 children and the deals are fantastic and affordable. The staff is friendly and helpful. You feel so good you actually want to tip EVERYONE!! I will be going back next month and anytime in between for our meat needs.

It's clean and they have everything you need from fresh vegetables to the ultimate in fresh meat package And if you don't See what you need in Package's, you can also go to the butcher,and get fresh meat and fish over the counter. I love the meat section. There are butchers on site readily available and serving the customers. The meats are fresh and the prices very reasonable. I met a lady who came all the way from St. Paul. The staff is diversed and friendly. At checkout they bag your groceries, take them to your car and load them. You don't get service like that at Cub Foods.

This place is amazing!!! if you like to save on groceries and hunt for deals. The physical store is nothing special and the bathrooms are not great but OMG the deals! I love there cold food sections. A small neighborhood hidden gem. I drive across town to shop here... The store is NOT in the best area. Yet this tiny neighborhood grocery has stolen my heart. I shall return!

The name is right, the prices on some items here are so low as to be ridiculous. Meat, ice cream, breads, produce, candies, boxed items all are great buys. There are some exceptions of course, so pay attention. The trade off is that the atmosphere is 3rd world chic, but you can probably eat for a week for 20 bucks and not go hungry, just fat. I would have given a higher rating, but there was some unwelcome attitude from the checkout staff.

This store has all of the old school candy and junk food. I'm a junk food fanatic. The store could be cleaner looking and opened up so it's not so congested. I love that they have the workers assist you with your bags to your vehicle, that shows great customer service. I don't visit often, I was just in the neighborhood so I stopped in. They also have items that people from Chicago will be looking for. I'm from Illinois and when my family visits they go here for their items.

Price of food is okay but half of what I got was expired stuff, sometimes by a couple years. I would not recommend shopping here, or would do so carefully. Distance from U of M campus isn’t too bad if you take light rail and bus, making for an easy weekend errand.

A full butcher section (including actual butchers), a full grocery, plus a selection of low-priced "salvage" groceries where you can find INCREDIBLE deals if you watch expiration dates and are smart about your shopping. All that, plus a super-helpful staff and classic R&B music playing. Fantastic shopping experience!

I buy my seasoning from here but I'm upset that the owner makes the community buy mask for 2 dollars if you don't have one. He needs to realize that if it weren't for the community shopping there he would not exist in the neighborhood. So my suggestion would be ask for donations if you have it.

Bargain priced grocery store, pushes the "Best by" date many times. Has a full service meat market, with items not usually found in most stores. 4.5# of bulk hotdogs for 3 bucks. Can't beat the price of the 20# bag of potatoes for $3.69. If you're willing to look for it, you can usually find some pretty sweet deals.

If you are on a very low budget SoLow is the place for you. Make sure you check the expiration dates! Do not buy in bulk because everything is cheap for a reason (It's either old or getting old). Also, avoid the dairy products unless it clearly says it is not expired yet!

The Meat Department is the best no place in Minnesota can beat their meat and sea food prices bulk on steak pork etc. Last time I was there a case of bacon $7 and a case of ribeye steaks $33.The food watch the dates for children the snacks are priced awesome little debbies $1 a box ,the parking is not always great BUT the staff are friendly and helpful
