Reviews of Little India International Market
Andromeda “Andy” Anderson
I love this place. My main purchases are their lassi from the dairy fridge, canned Alfonso mango, and then I grab all sorts of other fun stuff from their wide selection. They have both imported food and products as well as Indian-American and continental versions. I see the Indian food they sell at Cub Foods here as well as things I’d only find shipped online. They have an amazing sweets case with tons and tons of stuff to try, and wonderful bilingual staff who were happy to explain the different treats to me, give me a sample, and assemble a sampler plate to bring home. I love their dry staples, get lots of rice and dal for great prices. They also have simply the best assortment of bulk spices. Nearly anything you could want, from conventional American spices to authentic Indian and East African and Mexican. Cannot complain.
Have previously not had a great produce experience there and haven’t tried their butcher, though their produce has looked fresher lately. I’m pleased they sell good looking banana leaf and a few other niche items and will try those in the future.
Recommend!

They have all kind of meat like halal and also have plenty of subcontinental food items. The two drawbacks of this place is the limited space inside and more so outside the store. One has to be absolutely lucky when it comes to car parking and on top of that you could be in for a long time if someone parks their car behind you.
Charles Depietri (Pastor Charles)
This store has been in the Northeast neighborhood for many many years. It's well maintained and the staff is friendly. Convenient for this in the public housing building across the street and a wide variety of options . Two thumbs up for Little India International Market 👍 👍 …
Sovan Banerjee
It's a nice and concise place to get authentic Indian foods and masalas. You can also get lots of meat options and fish options too. Most importantly, I have found lots of authentic Bengal sweets there such as Rasogolla, misti Doi, Nolen Gurer Sandesh etc. However, I have found that the price is in a bit higher range.
Christia D
There is ALOT packed into this place! I didn't really have the time to browse all the shelves but I can't wait to go back when I have more time & really indulge in more goodies, spices, & Indian treats (they have an array of ready made fresh deserts as well & a few hot cooked items as well such as Samosa)
George Effrem
They have a wide selection of things of not only the south Asian foods but also middle eastern foods as well. I only wish that they would have more items priced to help us decide on if it would make sense to buy it from the store or in making our selection of one brand over another.
Nicky W
SO DELICIOUS! Highly recommend. Had this beer from India as well.
T N
Got a give them the credit of making this place the ultimate stop for anything indian. Wide variety of spices and stuff. They carry alot of really hard to find spices as well. This is the only place we stop to get beans, spices and stuff. Sure some stuff one can find cheeper elsewhere, but still won't find the variety... very nice!
Sujan Kumar Reddy
Name is so apt. Yes, this shop is a little India. One stop shop for everything. This is my first store I have visited in Minneapolis, so can't compare with other stores. I love the sweets most.
Overall it is a nice store. I would recommend 👍
Tip: For fresh vegetables visit on Tuesday and Friday ☺️
Mohammed Rashid Zubair
A very good grocery store where you can find almost all required spices and meat are available on a reasonable prices.
mohamed ali (Bilaal)
best grocery in all Minneapolis you will get any thing you can think of all most 100% and the price better than all other ethnic groceries.
Muhammad Farhan
Good Assortment of Indian Groceries, vegetables, sweets with options for both frozen and fresh meat products.
Recommended for all Indian food products !
Alfiya Adam
I love shopping here. They have quality stuff with reasonable prices. 👌 …
Mehdi Anis
Meat section takes time to custom cut fish or meat to one's preferences. Lots of products.
FG
Huge store, every desi ethnic product available. Very friendly owners
Sonashree Saxena
I had read some reviews about this place. Most of them had issues with expiry date of the products. So I checked the dates before buying anything. I did not find expired products, but it's always better to be vigilant.
I gave this place 5 stars, because one can find nearly everything for cooking. They had great range of spices, masalas, wheat, besan etc etc. Cup noodles, top Ramen, sweets, haldiram precooked meals..
I was extremely satisfied with the products they had in one place. Price also seemed reasonable to me. Best purchase was basmati rice, which turned out to be really good. I really liked the place.
Shawn McBurnie
Essential source of basmati rice, spices, and Indian snacks (for a start) in NE Minneapolis.
Geoff Enright
I love this little shop. It's a great Minnesota local shop with Indian products or geographically close from other countries. Friendly staff, tons of selections you cannot find in most other stores, and the best deals in spices I've ever seen. The spices they sell come in multiple ounce sized bags for less then the jar spices in most American grocery stores.
If you like spicy food, they will have the option for it too. I highly suggest going here if you live in the area. And to be honest, they don't need the business in many ways, because they are always busy when I'm in there.
CookingwAnushka
Always good to go here for my quick Indian food needs. Very efficient when paying and checking out the groceries. The produce has the best pricing however make sure to eat asap. Also bring a reusable bag if you don't want to be charged per bag, for the city of Minneapolis charges .05 per bag.
Steven Debner
Interesting experience. Wondered how many items of selection this store has. There's a lot in the space.
Israel Williams
I live down the street from this place it's very convenient for me to go to so I can recommended it for what you might want such as produce and other things you might want a quickly.
Mia Bremer
Our favorite place for authentic Indian groceries and where we get staples like basmati rice and paneer. We just tried some frozen veggie my Momo's that were very good. Lots of options for herbs and curry pastes. Plus the owners/staff are nice and are helpful.
bilal ahmad Ghalloo
Variety is good but prices of some items are high
Hayden Gullickson
The variety here is excellent! They have everything you need from spices to household/toiletry products that you would obviously never find at any American grocery store. Everything is reasonably priced in my opinion. Only downside is that some items are hard to find or have multiple locations in the store. Some of the aisles can also be crowded at times with other shoppers, boxes, or both. Everything considered, the staff members are all helpful and respectful – whenever I shop here I feel that my business is valued.
Tip: If you make lots of dishes with rice, this is a great place to stock up! Same with bulk items like spices, etc.
Evan B
Huge selection, almost exclusively items you can't find elsewhere. Very good prices and friendly staff.
Bhaargav Sriraman
Go to place for an Indian living in Minneapolis. You literally get anything you crave.
Ps : if you're from Chennai, you get grand sweets mixes here.
Srikanth Mudiraj
Prices are bit high comparing to other stores. It is a place were we get all the Indian grocery. The mutton pieces are way too big they chop the pieces in big size..
Kado
Great grocery store! They especially have an excellent selection of beans/legumes. I slightly prefer Fresh India (Woodbury) for fresh produce and ready-made food, but as far as dried goods, Little India is my go-to store.
Amer Muhammad
Great south Asian grocery store, lots of grocery items, spices, etc.
Mark T
Have been looking for a very long time for fresh fenugreek to make ghormeh sabzi. Not only do they have it, but it's super fresh and I am told always available. All of the produce looked great!
The rest of the store was wonderful as well, much larger than most, with countless products. So many that it would take more than a lifetime to try them all. Come here soon, come here often, tell your friends.
Rezwanul Haque Turza
Great place to do all the groceries, a lot of South Asian stuffs are available. The meats are halal and very fresh.
Rev. Agony Siwela
Convenient when in need of a variety of spices.
Christopher Lawler
I haven’t been here for many years, but once lived right next door and would stop in weekly. Great little market with a lot of character, with a very old Northeast feel to it. Hopefully it’s remained the same. Would frequently buy nicely priced dates here, rice, and other grocery items.
Nicole Cadwallader
Never seem to have hardly any fresh produce.
Marek Tylko
They are feeding my craving for Pataks lime pickle. How can you not be impressed by an isle of different flours. Helpful, polite staff round off a good experience.
David Noble
Definitely a market to shop to stock up hard-to-find spices, meats, and ingredients for meals that you're ready to prepare. Especially like their thin sliced beef for making jerky on my wood pellet grill and dried sweet tamarind. Great prices .... a must to check out!
Rochelle Murray Jenkins
Awesome store. Many great items to choose from. Huge variety of ethnic foods. Reasonable prices. Great customer service at register. I visit at least two-three times a month I always bring anew family member or friend.
Saurabh Saket
Nice place for getting Indian grocery and vegetables. Has almost everything we need. Got a star less as I can not find Top Ramen Curry for my last 3 visits.
Prasanna S
Great place to get quality Indian groceries.
Sayan Mitra
went there from Iowa for indian groceries. Very good stock and proper price.
Nikhil Kalothia
Great selection of Indian grocery items. Be careful in choosing as several items are expired or close to it. The fresh baked pastries are delicious, albeit expensive at $9 per pound. The parking lot is very small and difficult to navigate. Best bet is to park on the side street.
Mariam H
Over priced. But you can find almost everything Indian here such as spices, Indian teas etc. You can also find UK snacks and heinz beans which is a plus.
Sahina Zannat
Good place to buy halal meat and Indian fish. however many of their packaged foods are expired. so always make sure to check the date. Sometime the shop owner gets angry if reported an expired product. Vegetables are okay. If you are in urgent need, it will do the job. However many of them are not so fresh. In other words, it will do the job, but not the best and satisfying place.
pratheep kumar reddy Yaddala
As the name suggests, it is very little (tiny). The aisles are very narrow to walk. But, you get most of the Indian grocery and vegetables and some frozen food too. Kosher shop also available for chopping chicken, goat, and meat. They also prepare some fresh samosas. I never tasted veg. Samosa. The chicken samosa was horrible. Most of the products like ghee, ginger paste etc are not Indian products. But, imported from sub-continent.
Kallol roy chowdhury
Little India has a huge selection of spices, rice, flour packaged frozen food. There is a huge selection of Indian asian spices and snacks which is really delicious. The meat section is awesome with a variety of meat, fish and sea food at a competitive price as well. They do clean and cut the meat and fish as well, the only thing which i think can be improved is the meat/fish cut and clean team team should take specification form the customer before cutting the pieces as various customers may have varied specification.
UDAY SRAVAN KUMAR KAMINENI
I heard it doesn't keep much stock. But when I visited, they had very good stock. I like the meet shop in it.
Like in pooja, here you don't find kitchen utensils tools etc. Store was very congested and carts were not good. Assortment was not great. Parking problem.
But if we adjust, we get all what we want. Thanks for making Indian products available overseas.
Colette Svanoe
My son and I had a good experience at Little India Market. The employees were very kind and helpful. The prices were very reasonable too. I'll definitely be shopping there again.
Haleigh Duncan
Fantastic store that probably has everything you're looking for and more- it's one of the only places in the Twin Cities where I could find ingredients like kashmiri chili powder and fresh curry leaves. I love this place!
Jon Mes
Excellent choice for all Indian cuisine essentials. Curry, spices, naan bread, frozen samosas, treats, fresh ginger, garlic, veggies... the list goes on. Reasonably priced -- worth patronizing.
Lloyd Schley
Little India is my go to place for spices needed for curry and basmati rice. Cub might have 2-3 brands of basmati rice but this place has 20-30 and its cheaper. Easy to park on an off day (Monday not friday) and has a nice spicy smell from an entire aisle or 2 devoted to every exotic spice you can think of. When meat, potatoes and gravy won't do it a step into the exotic cuisine of the near east and far east is the way for me and this is where you go for it.
sharan katta
Place is good and most of the items available. But one thing to improve they don't have prices on most of the items. We have to check the price over the counter which is cumbersome
Sri Vinjamuri
This place is super packed with stuff. Spices, Lentil varieties, Rice varieties, fun Indian snacks, Indian sweets, Indian betle nut products, some fresh veggies and fruits, a small take out food place ...made on premises, a meat market....etc.
Went with family and friends...liked it for the most part...but the strong smell of raw meat and fish in some isles not my thing, place could be better organized and certainly needs better cleaning. Owners were polite.
Dominique Dupri
Bulk Rice, probably 30 different types of rice. All types of beans, fresh mean including chicken and so much more. Many items are less than what you pay at the main grocery stores. Did I forget spices, so many I can't name them all. Very busy place tight walkways. You may need to be patient and wait a couple minutes or move your cart around to ensure everyone gets through. Every time I go I pick up something new to try.
Bhushan M
The place is good in terms of availability of most Indian items. But prices are far higher in comparison to the price in other stores. Space is also insufficient to move the carts easily. The items are arranged but without any category display that makes it difficult for the first timers to locate items.
Abdul H
Very congested. No place to walk with only a few people in the store (the store is huge - just overstuffed with inventory). Parking is not spacious either.
I liked the meat quality and variety. Not a fan of their Chicago stale sweets. Wish there were more smiling people working.
Sadie N
Love this place. Staff are very friendly and there is crazy selection. I went for Jalebi, and ended up spending $40 for all kinds of great things!
A lot of what they carry is cheaper than the grocery store.
Rasha Ahmed
I’ve been coming here for as long as I can remember but during the pandemic, especially now, everything has gotten so much more expensive it’s ridiculous. I’m talking about $5 products that are now $10, double the price.
RAMANISH SINGH
This store has all the Indian spices and products.
Anand M
It’s my last choice for Indian groceries. They don’t have proper billing lane ; you have to place the items on the billing table and he takes long time to bill. The place is not clean and randomly placed items. It can be maintained and improved well.
Omare Haji
Good customer service best briyani and best food spices
Bengali Magnolia
Great for Indian, African, Mediterranean cuisines. Fishes were not very fresh though and the options were also very limited . But their spice and grain collection were good .
Zinat Chowdhury
Great place if you want to shop for Indian Pakistani Bangladeshi grocery. Halal meat is available. Indian dessert is available. It is slightly larger than other Indian groceries. Great collection great stock.
Anil Babu
I've been to almost all the grocery stores in MSP but this store had very reasonable prices. They have variety of selections for those who are looking for steel utensils, they have a small section. Vegetables and meat are super fresh.
Oladepo Ibrahim
The store has a wide range of products. As a Nigerian, I was surprised to find a lot of Nigerian groceries in this store. It has become my no. 1 go to store in Minneapolis. Great place.
Funky Monkey
Products are in stock. Staff is as helpful as they can be since it gets busy there & difficult to get help at times.
Prices are reasonable.
Only issue is parking, they do have some street parking in the front of the store & on the side street, but their actual parking lot behind the store is small & congested so parking there on the weekends is tricky.
David Kruchowski
I love visiting this market, there's such a wide variety of interesting exotic finds, as well as conventional needs. I always end up grabbing things off the shelves just to try them out. Staff is super friendly and helpful, it's a neighborhood must-visit!
Adarsh Konchady
I only go here if don't have other options. Prices are higher for most of the items compared to Pooja groceries. Not a lot of options for veggies as well. Pooja has been closed for some time so this is the only nearby option for someone living in downtown. India bazaar in Plymouth has better prices.
Courtney Ives
I had a lot of fun browsing the extensive spice offerings, rice, flour, grain, and legume varieties. All the supplies in my Indian cook book can be found here, and the staff is willing to help shoppers find things.
One thing to note, however, is that this is not one of our pristine American supermarkets. The produce isn't all wrapped up in plastic (some would find this positive) and there are some canned or jarred products that could use some dusting. This happens, and it was fine.
Abhijit Patil
Good store for Indian groceries. They have most of the required packaged food but the fresh produce can be stale sometimes. Over all a good place to shop. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
B W
Always a great selection. Recently undated their freezers and added quite a few new items. Love that I can get things here that I could only get overseas. Thanks for making that so much easier!
Maharshi Dey
You can get every item you are looking for. However, bathrooms are very dirty. Check outs usually have a long queue.
Zahir Abbas
Such a wide variety of indian grocery items this place has. You will find all kind of spices and herbs. I was surprised to see some Bangladeshi products here( ruchi masala, pran puffed rice, drinks etc). You will also find wide varieties of indian rice. Vegetables are not that much great, May be the time I visit was not perfect. I was impressed by the quality of meats they sell. You will get fresh beef, mutton, chicken all the time. Quality is good as well. Another thing I like is the sweet. They sell almost 10-15 different types of indian sweet. It is only 8$/lb. Overall best indian groceries near Minneapolis area.
Pradhosh Lakshmi Narasimhan
I'd suggest anyone who goes here to buy items that are fast moving like vegetables , chappathis and other similar groceries. I got a batter whose use by date was over two months before actual date of purchase. However I got them replaced.
So in my opinion if you go for commodities that are slow moving. Double check the dates.
Syed Zeeshan Ahmed
Usual collection of all Desi spices, rice and wheat. I go to this place only for Halal Chickens, Mutton and Beef. Little less lighting and dull place.
Eric Ziegler
Good selection of food and household items.
bdiamonddmc
Love Indian groceries, this was not the biggest, but they still had a lot of items, it's just a bit tight walking around. Large variety of things, including some hot, fresh items made there and many non food items as well. The biggest problem is parking. There is almost nothing available, a couple on street, with obvious competition. There's a very tiny lot in the rear, w/few spots and NO exit, if you pull in and there is no space, (which you can't tell from the street), you must back out to the street; and heaven forbid, someone else comes in behind, and you can't back up. Plus people park behind you if you do get a spot and you can't leave until you find them or they leave. I'd recommend coming at the slowest times if possible to avoid parking drama.
Shoumit Karnik
Good place for buying Indian groceries. Has really good Indian stuff. Do visit!
Aamir Bashir
Very clean place. A huge variety of Pakistani products and frozen food available along with a butcher shop for fresh halal meat. Curious and customer service focused staff.
Nikhil Panchabhai
Closest one to minneapolis downtown. One can buy Indian Groceries, fresh meat- chicken, beef, goat, lamb & fish. Rates are average. Some products are slightly costly and some are slightly cheaper when compared to another grocery stores. Liitle less spacious while going through aisles. Staff is friendly and helpful.
shashank kamdar
My goto place for Indian food and grocery items. The staff if pretty helpful too if you don't find any item. For fresh veggies, it's best to call in advance to confirm availability. Overall is a great experience shopping there.
Guru Venkatesan
Decent store for Indian, middle eastern and some east African groceries. Plus there is a butcher shop within the store. Although clean, it never feels clean.
vishwanadh G B S C
Has all required indian stuff. They also carry halal meat. Most of the sea food. Look out for goat meat as well. Variety of indian snacks and sweets as well along with great frozen variety. It's a one stop shop for all desi groceries.
Yusra Farhat Ullah
Great variety of Indian and Pakistani spices, foods, frozen foods, ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook meals. Halal meat. Prices are a little high but everything under one roof is great.
Mark Bradby
Great selection of Indian and international foods. I always go here to buy basmati rice in bulk, as well as various indian pickles, teas, and spices. You might not expect it, but they also have a full butcher, and great selection of British products from authentic cadburys chocolate to marmite, ovaltine, and digestive biscuits!
Duccio Mondanelli
Amazing little Supermarket if you're looking for more exotic spices. Service was really good, too. Check out their pre-made sweets. Absolutely amazing!
Bhaskar Das
Great collection of Fishes. Fresh meat also available. Lots of Indian and Bangladeshi products are there. Also, they have a takeout restaurant.
John Lavik
Unbelievable assortment of international foods. Great selection of spices, rices, lentils, as well as halal meats and some fresh veggies. One of my favorite places to shop. Too bad it's so far from my house.
Gordy Seppanen
A fine grocery with a great array of international products. The choices for rices alone is staggering. Any shopper for Indian cuisine should leave satisfied with quality choices.
Luke Hampton
wonderful selection, lots of stuff that you can't get at most american chain stores or other markets, staff is great, fresh produce and meat/seafood is also great and the prices are low
Abhishek Reddy Chamakura
Indian and middle eastern grocery store.very huge Store with plenty of packaged , fresh produce , fresh meat , grains , variety of rice options.b
Pletny of fresh and frozen meat options.pricing on meat is economical.
Pricing on different items is little expensive compared to other Indian stores.
M Kaderbhai
Great place to get meat, groceries, spices, etc. The staff was wearing masks and so were all the customers when I visited the store last week.
Ahmed Taher
Very nice place, with unbeatable price, and you can find all kind of imported foods. From very large selection of spices to many different tea and coffee products to a wide selection of rice, flower and much more.
Raj Vinjamuri
A well stocked, but messy store. You'll likely find what you need, but they could tidy things up a bit. Frozen, fresh, dried...it is all there.
Parking is a bit cramped, so be careful.
S R
Might not be the best place for Indian shopping. You'll find decent variety of grocery items and lot of frozen ready to eat options. Their meat shop was not that great.
jesse james johnson
Where else can you find an entire selection of roti, pakora, and samosas? These are staples for any week. Service had always been friendly and they are always well staffed.
Mabindra Regmi
Good for indian grocery
Abhijit Patil
It's a very nice place to shop Indian groceries. The store has almost all the necessary products with a wide range of brands. It's a very well maintained & neat facility.
Daniel Naso
Very cramped but always has what I am looking for. Can't leave without buying a couple samosas!
Bhaskar Ravishankar
Good selection of products and the recent remodeling has improved the overall appearance of the place. The produce line has a good variety of veggies.
Gyan Ranjan
Its good for meat but not really good if a person I looking to find good Indian vegetable collection. Better to visit Pooja Groceries which is just 3 miles away from it.
Musa Qandeel
Big and busy place. Loaded with spices and condiments. They sell fresh meat and chicken. Veggies and fruits are available here also.
Justina Schiroo
Great selection of food and ingredients, including bulk spices, frozen foods and rice. Great place to find rarer Indian dish ingredients, and for a good price.
Areeha Durrani
You can find almost every Pakistani or Indian item here but do not try their samosas, they are not at all fresh!
Ramla IMAN
I love this place I have looked for fresh goat meat and over all Halal meat that was fresh when I moved to MN and didn’t find anything for 3 years until I found them!! Amazing great quality Halal meat!!
mohan joshi
All fresh indian items should be made available
Alexandr Kadukov
Cheapest spices in Minneapolis!!! As example 7oz of dill seeds only for $2,49 , very cheap bay leaves, tumeric, cumin seeds. Wide choice of basmati rice, and more....

Jaffer Deane
This store is my family's go to for spices, rices, and other Indo-Pak items rarely found in other stores. Little India provides a large selection!

darius collins
You can find Rasta Tease hot sauce at this location, as well as other great , hard to find items
Rizvi Ahmed
South Asian grocery store with exotic items. But items are not always fresh and properly labeled for bb date, nutritions.
Dan F
Huge aisles of spices. We've gotten Bengali five-spice, amchur powder, tamarind paste, paneer, and more.
Boran Zhao
