My wife's family is from Sonora, MX so for the past 33 years I have been enjoying, and have learned to cook, the food of that region. We have been here for a month and were happy to find a market with all the authentic ingredients to cook a few meals while here. Everything is fresh and the variety is more than we have found elsewhere. The store is clean and well laid out. Even the mistake on one of our purchases was quickly resolved. We will be shopping here next time we are in the Cities.

A very pleasant surprise in Minneapolis ..A fully furnished Mexican market with a little restaurant inside.. we went to 3 supermarkets wasted our time looking for Mexican ingredients that were well stocked here .. we stop and had a little lunch at the Cafe in the back it was amazing .. if you need to make that real Mexican dinner you need to come here and meet the owners who are the nicest people in the world and would gladly help you with your dinner ..

I love this place but they charge $ 3.69 for a avocado which is outrageous. Large varieties of assorted mexican food.

Clean, well laid out place, friendly and knowledgeable staff with decent English. I went there for groceries with an Argentinian friend. We got most things we were looking for. We also got some chicken tamales. Yum! You can see the kitchen from the store; very clean. Parking is behind the store, with a rather confusing layout. Also parking is usually busy and full with many people from adjoining mall hanging about. I was confused(being directionally challenged) as how to get to the store and walked through the adjoining mall. Their manager (the neighboring malls) was very rude about it. He started shouting that this is not a public walkway and asked for security to escort us out. There is no signage asking you not to walk in there. That was a very weird experience. I wouldn't go to LA Mexicana again for this reason. They probably need to resolve their issues with their neighbors.

I went here today for liver. 😆 liver of all things. I guess it's comfort food. I haven't ate beef liver in over 20 years. I wanted something fresh not from Wallmart. Wow. All i needed for less than $3.00 and the liver didn't stink. It had not been sitting around in a freezer for months. I cook ole fashioned liver onion gravy and rice and it was good. 😋. I my new favorite spot. I got limes 6 for a $1.00 and plantains i can't wait to try.

Employees were SUPER kind and helpful. Food was great quality and priced affordably. I needed help and nobody made me feel stupid for asking. Also, the food truck in the parking lot is awesome, stop by there too!

These stars are for the restaurant tucked away in the back. Authentic and diverse menu board, friendly staff, and the food was amazing. The Verde was spicy, but not crazy hot. Will be back to try the quesadillas and items that I don't see many other places. The horchata was heavy on the cinnamon but matched the heat of the food perfectly.

The only cashier was working both the money transfer line and the grocery checkout line, so I kept getting cut in line while I was waiting to pay. Otherwise, their staff were friendly during Taco Tour 2017 and even served free samples of Jarrisco and tres leches cake! The food tent out back had tasty tacos, plus horchata that was affordable and quite delicious! The gentlemen serving the tacos, toppings, and salsa was very fun to interact with!

Produce and meats are fresh, but the customer service is real bad. First of the cashiers feel superior to all the other staff and customers, when I called and ask for a price or produce the cashier has said "well I don't know, because I only work as a cashier and not in that department" in a snotty way. La Mexican is not that big for the cashier to walk back and look or ask. This has not been the first time this has happened. Hire Cashiers that are qualifed in customer service.

Its hard to find a good latin grocery store in minnesota, and im glad i found this one. Theres a lot of things i need that i just cant seem to find at a target or small town grocery store in hopkins, so its well worth the drive here because i know they have what i need.

(Translation) It is very good that the city of Minneapolis of Mexican supermarkets and with Latin American products. There are many crafts here with a rainbow of colors. A wide variety of products and meats. It is very beautiful the murals that are painted in front. The workers are very friendly. There are also products from El Salvador that are delicious. I remember many years ago when Butler Drug was here on the corner of Bloomington and Lake Street. I have seen many changes in the last 40 years. (Original) Es muy bueno que la ciudad de Minneapolis de supermercados mexicanos y con productos latinoamericanos. Hay muchas artesanías aquí con un arcoiris de colores. Un gran variedad de productos y carnes. Es muy hermoso las murales que esta pintado enfrente. Los trabajadores son muy amables. También hay productos de El Salvador que rico.
