Went here at peak dinner rush! What great atmosphere and energy! The food was unbelievable! So good my mouth is watering thinking about the Mac and cheese with greens...the fish was new to me. It was swaii and it was light and had zero bones fried to perfection. I will be returning soon and will make sure to get an extra side of greens.😁

First time trying them today, was very satisfied with the taste and portion of the food, prices were good but the only thing I would’ve like was a few tarter sauces in the packet with the hot sauce and utensils to eat with,being a truck driver don’t alway have one handy but found one in the truck so I was good!

THE KING OF BAKERSFIELD

Clean store inside and out. They have the popular hip hop potato chip brand Rap Snacks. The store is like a miniature hood grocery store. The employees were pleasant but not friendly. The soul food is delicious, curious to know who prepared it. Will come and visit again in the future.

It was not as crowded as it is usually. I go there for one thing only and that's for fried catfish. Although they are basically a convenience store they have a limited menu of prepared foods and have a meat counter with butchers to serve your cuts the way you want them.

I love their choices of fresh meats. Their packaged meat deals are super convenient. They always have what I need available, and that's important to me. Did I mention fresh? Unfortunately, their produce dept could use more variety and some TLC, and their prices on everything else is quite pricey.

Pricing was a little more expensive than what was expected. The Mac and cheese, greens, were very good, chicken was a little salty. The area where you purchase hot plates of food does not have a separate line or method to make an order if you are in a wheelchair or on crutches or cane. The staff kinda moved at there own pace, no since of urgency even though there were 17 people in line. Even with that being said, the staff was very helpful with product knowledge and the menu choices.

We brought family dinner on Wednesday 11/10 and the cool must have mistaken the "salt" for sugar in the yams!!! It was ABDOLUTELY terrible! I been calling for the last couple of days to tell them about the yams but no answer, it goes to busy immediately. Everyone that was in line during (bet 3-4pm) that brought the yams must know that. Also, they must have new cooks because the "greens" were extremely salty. I've always love their sides but going to just buy their fish only because too much salt.

If you're intimidated by the place don't be. They carry a lot of grocery products you can't find anywhere else to spice your food as food should be spiced. If you are hungry ALL of the cooked food is on point and reasonably priced. They have old school candy and alcohol (if you're in to that 😉). They can get very busy so be prepared and patient or come at a good time when they're not busy. I come here sometimes just for chips and soft drinks I can't find anywhere else, including fried chicken skins in a bag and almost every flavor of Arizona Ice Tea! The place is a staple in the community and I hope it stays.

Today was my first time ordering via DoorDash. Oh my goodness the fish said 1 pound and it was no joke. I had 1 pound of the best fish I have ever had outside of my southern grandma. I am saving half for lunch lucky me!! The yam casserole was very good and had the perfect amount of sugar. I’m finishing the macaroni and cheese and it taste like home cooking especially with that cheddar cheese. The price was affordable and budget friendly even with ordering from DoorDash. I am very very happy with my food and will be back to try the hot links and greens!!

They have a large amount of soul food seasonings, condiments, baked products, an actual butchers counter and lots of soul food cooking staples. They have very very good freshly prepared food items too, the establishment is small & they carry many grocery items in high demand, so be prepared to have a bit of a wait.

Mario's is one of those little local stores where you can find mini cuts of meat offerings of fish and seasonings you never thought existed. Definitely don't judge this book by the cover it is a small store bridging West Las Vegas and North Las Vegas but worth a trip. If you do a lot of Home Cooking you probably already know about them they keep all the greens, salt pork , smoked jowl and such for seasoning food as well as my favorite old school sodas and candies from the south. They have a hot kitchen that does a lot of traffic but I honestly only try the fish they sell a lot of s w a i but offer catfish red snapper and a couple of others upon request. It's a local favorite and everyone knows Mario. Oh they even have their own liquor store attached. That being said I would appreciate the store making renovations even buying more space to enlarge the store as so much money from our community goes there the store should improve at some point it looks outdated

I have now visited this establishment a few times,and every time I go I try to have something different than I had the times before. They have a variety of items on their menu that changes daily and I have yet to have anything bad. Their food is very good. Some of the best soul food that I have had from any restaurant. Their food is served cafeteria style and everything is sold by the pound. You may be hesitant after arriving at this place for the 1st time,as there's a lot going on in the parking lot but do not be deterred,I've never seen or experienced any issues. I highly recommend this place if you're visiting Vegas,you will not be disappointed. Your biggest problem will be trying to decide what to eat off of their wide variety of menu items. Trust me, you will want to try everything

Love the fish. The spaghetti is an absolute NO for me. Plus some sides are not available. I asked for fried okra they don’t have it. I asked for greens and potatoes, they don’t have it. I am not sure if they did not have the hush puppies either. All I know is they need to update their menu. But I will continue to return for the fish and chicken. No complaints.

If you are there to buy a cooked plate of food, the food is AMAZING. But if you are there to purchase meat from the Deli, they tend to be out of stock a lot of times so most times I am not able to get what I came for. Some prices for certain meats, like their catfish are a little too pricey. I also don't care for all the loitering that is right in front of the store all day long.

Just note the fish and chicken picked up with gloves not tongs. So if gloves touch other areas the food will now be touched with those gloves. Just an observation that might want to be addressed. Food was good especially the catfish, delicious! However, felt really bad for the black guy serving up everyone alone while the line was long. Cashier stood around at end doing nothing. All during a lunch hour. Everyone closer than suppose to be because of how long the line was no social distancing whatsoever.

The experience was great. The store s were very well organized and stocked with wide variety of ethnic and usual groceries. I arrived and 15 mins later left with my order of fried catfish filets. There were tall partitions in front of the hot food and everyone maintained social distancing guidelines. The staff was helpful and courteous. The only concern was the parking lot could use good power washing. I was approached by peddler selling cologne but she left when i told her mot interested.

I live on the far west side of the valley (Lone Mt) and didn't mind the 20 min drive, but once I got there around 4:30p I regretted I didn't leave an hour sooner. The line was extremely long and after a 30 min wait, I have to say I was not disappointed. I ordered the Catfish fillets with a side of greens and a sweet potato casserole, wasn't too sure about it at first and my server assured me I would love it... Again not disappointed at all. Lastly, the Peach Cobbler made me want to hurt myself. Everything was on point as usual and customer service was rock stars! It was so worth the wait. I was given an amazingly great tasting, freshly made, more than a sufficient quantity of food for a reasonable price, that's a Win-Win. Thanks, Mario's will be back again soon!!! Tammie

Local, all inclusive community market and deli. I visited the deli for some of the best soul food and the white catfish was fabulous. They even had a liquor store. Don't be fooled by the appearance of the facility. There are great things going on in this small center.

This place is awesome. It reminds me of the mom and pop neighbor stores that I grew up with many ages ago. I enjoyed the experience. They have the old fashioned meat counter where you can have the butcher cut your meat for you to all of the different spices and side dishes that us as black folks grew up eating, ad well as products from Louisiana. Marios has changed a whole lot. The customer service in the hot food section sucks seriously. And when did 1 hot link start costing $3.50. Had I known I would have went and purchased a whole pack. This is a small neighborhood store / market. Inside store at the very back is a restaurant that has the BEST CATFISH! I mean I've never liked any catfish ever, not even my Grandmother's. But, one day a friend suggested I try here and I fell in love with their version of fried catfish. They also have many side dishes, yams, macaroni and cheese, potato wedges etc. Give this place a try I feel you will be pleasantly surprised.

This place reminds me of a typical market you'll find in the neighbor"hood" I grew up in back in Newark, NJ. It has all of your "urban" selections you can't find in a mainstream store. It's located conveniently so local patrons can get to, and offer a hot foods area where the fried fish will have you coming back for more. The line for the fish can sometime be long, but it's worth the wait, especially if you want to save the smell and cleanup of frying at home...oh and don't forget to pickup your sides and dessert!

Prices are high. Why are prices so high in the hood. Mario's has fresh good looking meats. Very good cooked soul food and usually the shelves are full. Not today. Things were picked over. Shelves needed to be straightened out because things had been picked over. I did see an employee not working, but walking around when she should have been cleaning. Too lackadaisical. They had a new guy on the checkout trying his best but needed alot of help. There was noone. The line got longer and longer until finally the liquor checkout person had to be summoned to fix the stuck credit card machine. She never came over to check the long line to tell customers that she could take them at her stand. Maybe she was afraid to leave her area because it seemed like she was alone as well. They make enough money there to hire at least 2 other people. I did also notice that the floor in certain areas needed some attention as well. The store was very busy with customers, maybe because it was 5:00 pm; supper time. I won't go there again at that time. But, the catfish is to die for! So it might be worth it to stand in that line. When Mario's fixes all of the issues that I noticed, that store will be tops.

There's no place that I no of in all of Las Vegas, where u can find name brand foods, long forgotten food products, hard to find items like roux for gumbo, fried chicken skins in a bag, hot food plates in the rear, cold and raw foods like USDA meat packages and fresh made koolaid from the kitchen. Food lines are always long, and slow. Food is decent, if you like fish.. I can appreciate the authenticity of the store with its mom and pops feel. But if your from L.A or Louisiana, the fish doesn't compare to the markets & restaurants that you may be use to.

My first trip to Las Vegas had to hit the historic eateries and Silvia being one. First I want to say the food was pretty good. The fried chicken was delicious. It was seasoned very well very very tender and nice crispy texture but no too heavy just right. The young man that was serving us was excellent very attentive and on point. Just a little too fast in his movements but was very good at what he did. He was well trained and you can see had passion for what he did. The place had a nice vibe and would definitely go back when in Harlem.

I purchased a family meal with 3 lbs of fish and 3 sides, the fish was very good but the sides, the kids didn't really care for. I got macaroni and cheese, greens and yams. The big plus for me was that the store carries alot of Black brands on the shelves. Things I couldn't usually find in a regular store I found here which was a big plus! There is a seating area in the store so you can eat inside.

Even though the neighborhood is a bit dicey (crime-wise), I have to admit a trip to Mario's IS definitely worthwhile. Their homestyle food is freshly cooked and very tasty. Especially the fried catfish. Personally, I believe it's the best in LV. It's freshly prepared and comes with all the fixings, like freshly made macaroni and cheese, greens and cobbler. And the prices are reasonable!

I don't see what the hype is all about. I went and it was ok. Price was too steep, Mac & Cheese wasn't good. Yams look like can yams just with sugar added to it. Fish was good. But once you go wild caught, farm raised taste like trash. And to my taste buds...too much sodium.

I'm a New Yorker who visits family in LV a few times a year and this is one of my stops whenever I'm in town. Some times I get off the plane and drive straight to Mario's for the catfish. It's a market with fresh fried fish and other sides, I don't know what the other food tastes like, I only eat the catfish, it's the best I've ever had. This is also coming from someone that doesn't eat seafood, at all.

I wish they had chitlins I could see you could buy them I did not see if they were already prepared or not I've been told that you can get them there already prepared and cook them yourself but I'm handicapped I can't stand in the lines very long and I can't cook them at home I don't have the strength so I wish they had them they're ready to go that would have been so wonderful I'd probably visit two or three times a week if they had them ready to go thank you to the sweet lady that ran the cash register and serve the food.

Going to Mario's Market is always a unique experience. That being said, Mario's is consistently the only place to find some foods popular in the black community. They have a fresh meat counter where you can find a variety of smoked pork and turkey products. Also Mario's sells some brands popular in other parts of the country. Mario's also sells cooked foods at the deli in the store. They sell fried fish and other foods made daily. The best way to understand the importance of Mario's in the community is to schedule a visit.

The freaking best!! I'm from AZ and was visiting, so I went to check out this "famous" Marios Market. The best meats I have ever seen, fish, pork, beef, souse, neckbones, turkey necks, you name it. Then the hot food section was to die for...homemade yams, greens, delicious crusty peach cobbler, fried fish steaks, the cheesiest mac and cheese ever. The grocery section of the market is great also. They have Ole school candies, syrups like Blackburn that you haven't seen since being a kid. You must check this place out!!! Friendly staff,great prices, however on Sunday's after Church be prepared to wait and order. My Family loves the fried catfish and you can pick your sides as well. The fried chicken, mac n cheese, hot links basically everything is really good there. It's always been fresh and hot! One Sunday I had to wait a good 25 min to order, but well worth the wait! They used to be located on W. Lake Mead and MLK accros from McDonald's and they're in the CVS Parking Lot! I highly recommend Mario's Market, especially if you like fried catfish or basically soul food.

Got to come home and get my hot links every time :-) I also buy the big bag of frozen chicken fingers. These are the same chicken fingers that you find at Hamburger Hut and other places. This was like a #tbt type of store. An old school meat counter with Butcher's waiting to take your order and give you custom cuts of meat. Neighborhood family owned market (customers seem to know eachother, Happy I went with a couple of friends) They have a small bristo style take out inside or you may set and dine there. Lots and lots of old school items to choose from. Mario's was packed with people buying baskets full of food items and fresh cuts of meat. I would not recommend the PRODUCE AT ALL. The prices are affordable, service was excellent, free parking lot, accepts credit cards, not sure about a public restroom. No Apple or Android Pay. Easily seen from the street. I was not comfortable in the area that it is located in and would never go alone.

Oh my...where do I start?! Let's start with Food: Catfish fried Fresh! It's hot and crispy and served,by the pound or as a meal with 2 sides and a drink for about $10. Many other choices available like hot links, wings, pork chops etc...Sides include yams, mac n cheese, sweet potato casserole, peas, green beans, and OMG...the best peach cobbler!! I'm not even a cobbler person, but I always grab some here! Environment: in the same parking lot as a Walgreens or CVS...not the most favorable part of town, but go early and get your food. There's also a couple of vendors that sells incense, oils, tshirts and dresses. Even an attached liquor store for those that want a little extra treat with their soul food!! Staff: Always friendly and courteous. Many, many returns!! :)))))

I can only find certain things at Mario's like gumbo mixes, hot sauces 🔥 and skins. The 🐟 is good but NOT like what ppl say. It's just LV don't have a lot of options for soul food. I don't like the meat market is so close to the fish fry. I always think about cross contamination. Only real issue is the janky ass ppl that hang around the parking lot. Just be prepared to defend urself when going there. They need security then they would get a lot more business. Overall prices are okay for most things.

I literally went to 4 grocery stores throughout the north side of Vegas and was unable to find red snapper fish,i was very frustrated, someone mentioned this place to me,a visited them and found RED SNAPPER fish there, I was very pleased with their section of southern spices and products as well, I even tried lunch in their hot foods section, and was very pleased, I will definitely shop here from now on!

Mario's Market is a great grocery store if you're looking for a good soul food selection. And very very good if you're looking for a Louisiana 7 Cajon selection it's the only place I know in town where you can go get boudin sausage and lots of that Louisiana Cuisine. Is anybody from Louisiana know if you going to make good red beans and rice2e the way things have to be rose red things in Mario is only store that has it. They also have the you buy we cook and other stuff prepared food. If anything the parking lot can be a lot cleaner in the store look appealcan be a lot more attractive

Mario's holds an important place in urban Las Vegas. He carries a multitude of food products that those who were raised on "soul food" find pretty unavailable in the major chain supermarkets throughout Las Vegas. The cuts of meat, types of fish and food brands that Grandma used to buy to make her delicious dishes are found at Mario's. Cooked soul foods and packaged liquor amd check cashing make up significant parts of Mario's business too. Prepared desserts and sometimes CD's and clothing are available from vendors on site. His location in the heart of the Westside can be intimidating to some. The environment does draw some characters sometimes. Those that persevere will find just what they need here!

Mario's Market you can usually get a variety of fresh cut Meats at a reasonable price well it has a butcher Stand Inside So basically to purchase there would be the meats only other items in there are very high overpriced their butcher lines are usually very long the customer service there I would rate them maybe a three-star that's just for customer service because there has been times some of the customer service help has gotten rude with me they do have a hot food stand inside and those folks that work behind that stem can be very rude and very discriminatory just shopped there for the meats because basically Mario's Market is highway robbery
